  • We're two couples and we had a wonderful night staying at the Bunk House. Thank you!

  • Liz was a wonderful hostess! She welcomed us very warmly to her beautiful ranch and was extremely accommodating. The rustic feel of the Bunk House and the sheer beauty of its surroundings were amazing. It was a treat for myself and my friends who joined us that weekend and I am looking forward to getting back into the country sometime soon. The Bunk House is located minutes from town and is the perfect location if you are in the mood for a bike to nearby Point Reyes.

  • My family and I had a wonderful stay at Liz and Bruce's bunkhouse. In a setting so magical, it would be hard not to! I will be finding any excuse to return. Thanks again, Bruce and Liz!

  • Gorgeous, pastoral, quiet and remote. This is the real thing. Perhaps not for everyone, but we sure loved it

  • A magical, quiet and peaceful place. We had the fireplace going all throughout our wonderful stay. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

  • This perfect rustic environment, home, and landscape lent itself to a cozy weekend with close friends. We had a truly magical time on the ranch. We were greeted by friendly hosts and home made pastries for the morning to boot! BBQ had a supply of coals and our dinner was had on their quaint and charming picnic table. We spent the sunset hours wandering with the cows and chasing dragonflies. I highly recommend this beautiful and unique ranch. We will be back again!

    Chiara2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gracious hosts had a lovely baked fruit coffee cake and homemade soap. Surrounded by beauty, this spot is a little piece of heaven! Saw swallows, jack rabbit and Longhorns that are some of the most magnificent cattle we ever saw! Be prepared to take pictures.

  • It is perfect location those who want to take a relax. It is so cozy and beautiful house. We will not hesitate to recommend the bunk house at all. Liz & Bruce is too sweet owner.

Much of the land is still used for agricultural purposes including beef and dairy cattle grazing, small-scale truck farming (including organic farming), and the raising of forage. Several small vineyards have also been recently established.
  • Gregory was super communicative and accommodating. He did a wonderful job getting back to us quickly when we had questions, and he made sure we had a comfortable stay--he even picked out dry firewood for us to get the fireplace going as soon as we arrived. We had a great time!

  • Incredible escape from civilization! We adored our stay here.

    John2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the Nicasio Nest. It truly is a magical cabin. Secluded, private, peaceful, interesting nature & art everywhere. We stayed with our toddler who really enjoyed being outside, walking along the bridge and the artwork hidden around for him to discover. We loved walking through the woods, looking for deer, the little town of Nicasio, Point Reyes Station & a drive out to the lighthouse.

    Cristina2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy retreat. Perfect if you want to be secluded from the busy world for a few days. Great home base to explore West Marin. Thank you for sharing this beautiful spot with us!

Gregory was incredibly responsive answering questions and very helpful with local tips. Highly recommend a stay at this magical place; you won't regret it.

Or maybe just stay "home" at Danehill Manor and take a hike (2-3 hours on our private land) around the Danehill peninsula along the Nicasio Reservoir. Recently I saw a whole school of 2-300 dolphins close to the beach at Limantour while riding there. A visit to the nearby San Fransisco Bay, Tiburon, Angel Island and Sausalito or Muir woods with the giant sequoia trees are always favorite destinations for many.
  • Karin's home is breathtakingly beautiful and we had a magical weekend taking in the beautiful views and interacting with her dogs and horses and listening to the classical music that Karin plays over the sound system she has installed throughout the house. Our bedroom was on the second floor and had two full windows right on the reservoir and a third window facing the property. Karin even prepared a gourmet meal for my husband's birthday, taking the time to buy oysters from Tomales Bay and setting a charming table with flowers and vintage silverware from Denmark. When we left in the morning, our car battery had died and Karin kindly interrupted a horsemanship lesson she was teaching to help us jump start our car. Karin was a wonderful host. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend Danehill Manor.

  • It was a great romantic get away in a beautiful property. The service was amazing. We had a lovely time. Karin is an amazing hostess and took really good care of us.

    Lorenza2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The weekend getaway my husband and I had at Karin's manor is our best experience on Airbnb so far. Her house is bright and spacious, making us feel at home and in the nature at the same time. As a hostess, Karin is so energetic and went out of her way to offer a lot more than we expected (even after reading all those great reviews). We only stayed for one day, and fully enjoyed every moment we spent there: Hiking around the property and listening to the lake was so serene. We had the dinner cooked by her (which was restaurant quality), served with local wine, and had heartfelt conversation at the beautiful grand room. We also took the horsemanship lesson offered by Karin, which is an interesting experience for first-timers with horses. Of course, the bed and breakfast are also of high standard. All in all, I would highly recommend staying with Karin, and you have a lot to discover. We look forward to coming back some day!

    Chenlu2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I simply had the most wonderful stay at Danehill Manor since I use Airbnb. Karin took care of my trip so well that I can't wait to go back again. She is intelligent, energetic, knowledgeable and most importantly, Karin engages in communication to her guest, she brought roses for me and my girlfriend(as it was Valentine's Day), we had some lovely talking over delicious snacks, she even made breakfast for all the guests, which made me feel like a mom welcomes her kids home. The house itself is beyond description. It was completely incorporated into the scenic. One would be impressed when wakes up in the morning, surrounded by the beautiful lake and greens. We did take the horse riding with Karin, where we learned how to build trust with horses and understand the way Karin turns her philosophy into practice. I feel so luck to spent that afternoon there.

    Li2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely sublime! Stunning setting, delicious meals, lovely host. Much more than we had ever dared to hope and dream for... spectacular. We will be back!

    Molly2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Imagine this setting - Rolling green hillsides with tufts of white clouds scattered over the horizon while horses nosh on the lush green landscape, hummingbirds sing, and dogs frolic in the yard. A wrought iron gates opens onto this scene which leads into a driveway framed by a adobe style house that is as elegant as it is visionary. A property that invites dreamers, entrepreneurs, creative types and more who come for a rest and leave feeling that a fairy must have sprinkled exotic dust over their experience because it simply could not have been that magical. A regal feeling permeates the property where family heirlooms decorate the walls and eating a prepared meal invites a sense of history with the silverware engraved with the year it was given to generations prior. Light pours in through the many open panels, and dances freely around the room. In short, paradise is here. I could wax poetical about the delicious dinner (extra and worth every penny!) and breakfast, luxury bed linens and supremely comfortable bed, and more, but I leave you with this. Go to the place where your soul will find rest and wisdom. Karin has created a home fit for kings and queens of which there is no higher compliment. Her gentle and kind demeanor reflect her extensive leadership training and gift in communicating joy in all circumstances. You truly leave a happier person and well rested soul.

    Sara2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place and relaxed environment. Karin was very welcoming. She allowed privacy without even asking and was engaging when we shared common areas. We even had a nice dinner that she prepared for our special weekend.

    james2015-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karin was the most wonderful host! The Danehill ranch had an exceptionally beautiful and peaceful environment surrounded by happy animals. We had a very memorable Thanksgiving here with our dogs! This is a place worth visiting again and again! Karin not only was the best host, she was a great chef and the woman Dog whisperer who helped us train our little chihuahuas while we stayed there. We are already thinking about returning for Christmas!

  • My girlfriend and I planned a weekend getaway to Point Reyes, and we were both very excited about staying in Danehill manor after seeing the pictures and outstanding reviews. Once we got there we very warmly welcomed by Karin, who was very generous to share her gorgeous home to us. We came in with great expectation, but we find that the pictures do not do justice to the exquisitely serene and relaxing atmosphere of the place. The view to this place is magnificent, and it’s not just any day when you get to be greeted by majestic horses and Karin’s spirited dogs. Our stay was the most pleasant. What we gained was unforgettable and mainly because we got to enjoy this place with Karin’s great company. She is an amazing person with so much insight and passion to life, beauty, and freedom. If you ever have the chance to stay here, you definitely have to take the time to chat with her and check out the sunrise. My girlfriend completely fell in love with this place, and it is like the most wonderful daydream for nature lovers and people who simply enjoy beauty like us. Now my girlfriend won’t stop bugging me to go back to Danehill manor again. Thank you, Karin, for this very precious experience!

  • My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay at Danehill Manor with Karin. She is an extremely warm and welcoming host who really made us feel at home. The photos of the Nicasio reservoir do not do it justice - you really have to see the views from her property to believe it. Her breakfasts are also fantastic!! We will definitely be back. Thank you Karin for making our anniversary so special!

    Alan2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Karin has designed a truly amazing place- her home is exquisite and we really enjoyed the grounds, horses and dogs. It was a perfect place for us to explore the area- not far at all from Point Reyes and many wonderful towns. It was also lovely to talk with Karin and learn more about her work training dogs and horses- we learned several things to put into play with our own pup! She makes amazing breakfasts which are perfect to enjoy outside, looking over the grounds. We appreciated her hosting skills very much, and had a great retreat.

    Abbe2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible weekend getaway. Cannot recommend Karin highly enough.

    Jason2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Danehill. Karin was amazing and we loved the room, the views. We had a great breakfast and got to learn so much about culture and lifestyle from Karin. We would love to visit this place again.

  • Karin was the best host we have ever had! Staying at Danehill was a total dream. We loved every little touch - from the classical music, to the food, to the cleanliness... everything was lovely. My best Airbnb stay by far. Waking up in the morning to horses grazing gently outside our window was worth every penny.

    Salman2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Karin is simply amazing! From first contact until our departure, she made it an experience to remember. A friendly, wonderful conversationalist and eager to share her love of horses, we simply enjoyed every moment at Danehill.

    Tim2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures really don't do justice to this place. It is so much more than just a comfortable place to spend the night. Karin has put her heart and soul into the estate. Every inch is filled with love. We took a beginner's horsemanship class with Karin. These horses roam freely on the lake side property. It's little oasis of tranquility just north of San Francisco. One regret we had is not to have dinner prepared by Karin. The dinner she cooked for other guests looked amazing!

The trailer is heated and air-conditioned, and has a fully equipped kitchen with gas range stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, toaster, cookware and dishes! Also, enjoy the complete bathroom with a full size shower, toilet and sink. Connected to the trailer is a laundry shed with a full size washer and dryer. This space is fenced in at the top of a hill on the property, and backed by a vast, open forest.
Quiet and friendly neighborhood, close to neighborhood markets, restaurants, and a large network of beautiful and diverse trails. It is a community of professionals, artists, surfers, and nature lovers. Arti is a well-loved, delicious, organic Indian restaurant just minutes away, in Lagunitas. They offer takeout, dine in and a discount if you mention that you're a guest. The Two Bird Cafe is in neighboring San Geronimo. They do breakfast lunch and dinner. The Lagunitas General Store is just down the road, minutes away. They have a deli, basic groceries, etc. One of the best natural foods stores in California, The Good Earth, is in Fairfax. They have wonderful array of groceries and prepared food.
  • We had a wonderful time! The yurt was so clean and had so many great amenities. The little notes left around the yurt and the trailer were also very helpful in getting a lay of the land. The listing was accurate and exceeded our expectations. Although there were many outdoor hiking opportunities, we ended up being home-bodies and relaxed in the yurt most of the time. The neighborhood was very quiet, which is just what our dog, Stella, needed as a respite from the 4th of July festivities near our home. Our dog also got along famously with Grady and Logan, the owner and the neighbor's dogs. All in all, it was a great experience and we would definitely stay here again.

    Makenzie2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I sneaked away for an evening to celebrate our anniversary. The yurt is fantastic and we loved staying here. Chris and Kimsa are great hosts - Chris had started a fire and so the yurt was toasty warm when we arrived. The kitchen had all the important essentials, even local coffee and fresh milk. They were there to greet us and were thoughtful enough to have left us a delicious tart for dessert! We would highly recommend the Rustic Forest Retreat for anybody looking for a private, beautiful, and memorable place to stay for a getaway.

    Michael 2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Magical wonderful yurt that is clearly a labor of love! We were blessed to stay there on our wedding night and hope to come back and spend more time. The little trailer is adorable, all the furniture is so nice, everything is well labeled, bed is super comfy, and the gardens and grounds are beautiful - slice of heaven in Marin!!

    Elana2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot!

    CJ2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Love the yurt and trailer. The chickens and eggs were fantastic. A perfect retreat from the city.

    Yu-chen2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This a great experience - staying in a yurt is unlike anything I've done before and the hosts are on point. Loved the games provided - we took an hour out of the day to do some origami! Highly recommended.

    preston2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying on this property. It was a beautiful and peaceful place. The yurt and trailer were very clean and fully-stocked with everything we could possibly need. The location is also perfectly situated centrally between Point Reyes, Lagunitas, and Fairfax/San Rafael, so there are many options for things to do and places to eat. Though it was more of a treat for us to spend a majority of our time in this space. We'd highly recommend this host and property.

    Irene2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very gracious and helped with a few things we needed during our stay. The property is very pretty and peaceful, and close to lots of great hikes / streams / nature. The yurt and trailer were very clean and well supplied. The yurt was a bit hot during the day but the adjoining deck was shady and cooler.

Very quiet, serene and how fun feeding the property pig (Bentley). We were able to get fresh eggs from the hen house for breakfast. Loved how clean and well stocked the kitchen was. • This dude is awesome. Loved his pad.

    Jared2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely amazing location. The house is clean, super cool (an old barn!) and the setting is stunning. If you're looking to disconnect a bit yet be able to get to the coast and/or wine country, this is a great spot.

  • This place is amazing! The location is awesome and gave us a totally new perspective on the area. The home is so comfortable and the property ideal for our pup. Andreas and Kyle provide an outstanding value and are just great hosts. We only wish we could have stayed longer! You can't go wrong with this place!

    New2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This property is an absolute must! The place was easy to find, but make sure to get GPS going before you get on that road, you will most likely loose service. When we arrived we were surprised by how much bigger the place is than we expected. Was great having a stocked kitchen for cooking over the weekend. I also loved that the whole property was fenced in (our dogs loved it there too, and were very interested in the cute pig on the property ) everything about the property was adorable and very nicely maintained. Andreas was super helpful and responsive to my messages, but we had the space all to ourselves and were left alone all weekend. I hope to get the chance to stay there again.

    Alysha2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The barn, the home, the location, the space - more than perfect. and most importantly hosts are the most wonderful people! Andrea's place is where 'a girl can dream' to one day own land and property like theirs. It was also a place to get away from SF without traveling too far. It was magical with all the amenities one would ever need. Sigh... A few days spent here wasn't enough. We will be booking again soon! We spent 4th of July, accompanied by our friends (a couple) and brought our dog with us too (who is terrified of fireworks). We did not hear one explosion and the County Fair wasn't too far away. We explored the small town nearby but mainly enjoyed our stay in the house/barn by cooking our own meals. I could continue on about how much we loved our experience but I think you get the point - so why wait? Book Andrea's place!

    Christina2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I spent two nights at Andreas' place, together with my partner and another couple. The place is greatly located if you want to visit the coastline as well as the wine region, and it is extremely quite and relaxing. Two days are possibly not enough to fully enjoy what the area has to offer, but I would definitely recommend this listing. It is clean and well equipped, check in is easy and the communication flawless. Look no further.

    Michele2017-08-19T00:00:00Z

  • Jim and Deb’s cabin is fantastic! They have very intentionally created a space that felt like home, with all that anyone could need. The cabin was cozy and the perfect place to return to after doing a long hike, eating oysters, and tasting all the wonderful cheeses Point Reyes has to offer! We hope to come back again, and highly recommend staying with Jim and Deb.

    Jhenna2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very private, beautiful location with a perfect balance between nature and city access. We were both blown away by how little the great photos do the whole space justice. Has a very lush and peaceful feeling with exceptional amenities and great clear communication. Unfortunately we did not get to meet Jim and Deb, but if our stay was the norm for their Air BNB approach, this would be an extra nice place for folks who are on the more introverted side. We only wished we'd brought a nice card to thank them for such a lovely stay.

  • Great place in the woods. Reasonably close to PT Reyes Station and on the way to/from the city. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The place is cozy and nice. Also they had some food and drinks stocked at least when we were there which was a surprise and very nice - thanks again!

    Brent2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The amenities are aplenty and extremely well-thought out. You won't pine for anything out here.

    Vyjayanthi2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Deb's tiny cabin is amazing. It is a comfortable little place with a fully stocked kitchen. The bed was very comfortable. Every little detail was thought of. I brought a roku to watch a movie and my remote battery was dead, they had batteries! They turned on a heated blanket, and decorated with real flowers and little candles. I will gladly stay again. We didn't want to leave! I only wish we had decided to stay more nights this trip!

    Matt2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Deb really go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The cabin is super cozy and they had everything we could possibly need. Really amazing and lovely hosts, would recommend this place to anyone looking to get out of the city and explore a lot of the local hikes around the cabin.

    Nick2017-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here. Jim and Deb are very nice hosts and shared some helpful tips about things to do in the area. The cabin was beautiful, very clean, and had a a fully stocked kitchen. This was one of the best airbnb's we have stayed in!

    James2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jim & Deb’s cabin is the perfect getaway experience. They really thought of everything; lots of snacks, drinks, and any little thing you may have forgotten from home. The space was clean and cozy. We enjoyed cooking dinner and snuggling on the couch. And the deck outside was perfect for some evening card games. I wish we could have stayed longer! We look forward to staying here again in the future.

  • Great place to stay in the best part of California. The house was ideal for a small family like ours (10 month old baby and a 16-yr-old) but could easily accommodate a few couples. It's quiet and surrounded by nature. There are horses and a chicken coop down the road. Walking around the area, you will often spot deer in people's yards or on the road as well. We even woke one morning to find a few hanging outside the living room window. One thing to note is how dark it gets up there. There are few, if any, light posts off of Sir Francis Drake. Not a bad thing at all, but you may want to use the outside light at the front of the house when coming or going at night. The stairs are steeper than they seem from the photo. Teya and Chris were accessible, welcoming, and accommodating. Highly recommended.

    James2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Teya's home is amazing! I lived on the deck outside and underneath the cold shower, and my friends enjoyed the hot tub. It is very tranquil and restful at her home. Though we didn't get to meet in person, Teya was super quick to respond to any questions I had and getting into the house was super easy. Her tenants above the house are also really cool people who I had a few really nice chats with in passing. It is a perfect retreat and I enjoyed my stay there thoroughly :) The best part was when a family of four deer showed up outside the french doors in the living room and I laid on the couch while they laid in the grass, and it was like we were hanging out lol

  • A very cozy place in a nice quiet neighborhood. The walk to the little coffee shop down the hill is lovely and we did it every morning. We rented Teya’s place for Christmas holidays and had a lovely time. Especially loved the hot tub and the woodstove! Teya was very responsive to all our questions and made sure we had lots of info ahead of time. The cats are really indoor/outdoor kitties and like to come in at night, especially when it’s on the chilly side outside. Woods and beaches are a short drive away and lovely. Fairfax has better breakfast restaurants than Pt. Reyes Station.

  • Awesome Airbnb! Beautiful home set in serene country setting of West Marin. A great place to stay during our visit to the Bay Area. Would stay here again.

    Shea2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located in a quiet grove of trees, and there is very little traffic on the street. In the beautifully appointed kitchen-living area, we enjoyed our morning coffee, and making some meals, while also venturing out to Pt. Reyes for a hike in the sun and fog before dining in town. A very comfortable, clean home is welcoming--after a few days of adjusting to the new space, when it was time to go, we didn't want to leave. Jenelle responds quickly to questions, so that organizing our trip was easy. Jenelle's place is a gem.

    Leslie2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place was fantastic, in the middel of beautiful nature. We spent the Christmass holidays there with the family. Everything was just as described and very cosy and clean. Jenelle even provided a basket with treats! We most definitely recommend!

    Bert2015-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jenelle was a great host. Her house is beautiful and was the perfect fit for my family trip. She was very responsive and even left us some goodies and brochures for things to do in the area. Jenelle made a real effort to make sure that everything was setup before we got there. There is a huge yard and a great garden behind the house. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for an easy, relaxing weekend in the Point Reyes area.

    Nicole2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our family loved staying at Janelle's place in Marin. It was so peaceful & relaxing there and Janelle was a wonderful host. Communication with her was smooth throughout. She was attentive and quick to get back to us both before and during our stay. Janelle provided great information about the house and area. Her home was super clean, super organized and had EVERYTHING we needed for a comfortable stay! The kitchen was amazing - great appliances and had absolutely everything we needed (& we even cooked Thanksgiving dinner there)! There were beautiful views from the house and we loved seeing all the wild turkeys (one morning we counted 17 in the front yard!) We had a lot of fun exploring the surrounding area too. We went on some great local hikes (especially loved Samuel Taylor loop!), had dinner, movie, ice cream in Fairfax and visited Point Reyes lighthouse. We also accessed public transportation in nearby San Rafael so that we didn't have to find parking on a day trip to San Francisco. Overall, our family had a wonderful vacation and we would highly recommend Janelle's place for a nice family getaway!

    Angie2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Janelle's place for two nights and had a fantastic time! The house is cleanly modern and set on an idyllic acre: a tire swing and wonderful porch grace the front and an amazing organic garden anchors the back. Our toddler thought she was in heaven, running around in absolute glee under the solar powered mason jars dangling magically from the trees. We highly recommend staying here!

    Jacquelyn2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jenelle's home was warm and inviting. So perfect for a Thanksgiving getaway with my family. The house was spotless, and we loved how it was decorated. Each bed was extremely comfortable and cozy. The property and yard was huge! Our kids had a ball on the swings and playing volleyball, softball and frisbee. The lights that come on in the yard at night were absolutely magical, and it was awesome to see a family of wild turkeys trotting through the yard on Thanksgiving Day! We also saw deer, owls, and many other amazing birds. Jenelle made it easy to communicate before our arrival, and provided lots of good information about the area by email ahead of time. It's only a short drive to downtown Fairfax, where we explored some cool shops and ate lunch. Jenelle made us feel very welcome and comfortable. This is definitely an amazing spot to stay, and I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. Thanks Janelle!!

    Amber2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our first Airbnb experience was a success! This house was perfect for our family of 5. The added benefit for the kids was the swing and tire swing. We had a wonderful trip. Janelle left a little goody basket for us, 3 chocolate bunnies for the kids and wine and chocolate for me and my hubby. House was nice and clean, just like in the pics posted. We had no complaints!

Unique setting next to the San Geronimo Valley Creek. Across a footbridge and next to our happy chickens you will find your cozy little Nook. Situated close to Pt Reyes National Park and other spectacular hiking and biking trails.
This is a studio in a private hideout in Lagunitas, next to the main house. The property is situated in a gorgeous valley full of redwood trees, flora and fauna. It is separated from the main road by a small creek, with a walking bridge connecting the home to the carport though a password protected gate. Trees, flowers, and ferns populate the yard, bringing in little birds, dragonflies, and frogs. We recently built a pond with lots of fish. Hopefully very soon we'll have some turtles in there as well. The studio has an extra-long full-sized bed, 2 lounge chairs, a TV, and plenty of closet space. It's equipped with a small kitchenette with a small refrigerator, convection oven, sink, and 2 burners. The bathroom has a fully functional shower. At night you can see the stars from the comfort of the bed through the skylights. Stepping outside the studio, you'll see a lounge area with comfortable blue chairs, and the chicken coop with our hens (all named after famous female singers. We'll introduce you, if you'd like!). Beyond the fire pit is the creek. We have a little island where you can climb down and observe the salmon swim upstream, and the crawdads fight one another for their ladies honor. We are located within a 5 minute drive to Spirit Rock, 30 minutes to Stinson Beach, and about 45 minutes to San Francisco. There are lots of places to go hiking and swimming around here, and it's a great area for biking. As far as media entertainment options, the studio does have a TV with premium cable, and we offer free wifi.
  • Linda was super sweet and even brought us cake for my mom's birthday! The bed was very comfortable, the cottage was cute. also the Indian restaurant just next door is super good. one thing if you don't know: Lagunitas is kind of down by a creek in the woods, so if you're looking for sun, you probably won't get a lot of it.

    Shawna 2013-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was magical. From the place itself to Linda and her puppies, fish, and chickens - it was great. We look forward to returning for a much longer stay sometime. =D

  • Very nice cozy cabin. Setting by the creek was great. Would recommend it to friends.

    Jerry2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The nook is awesome! Host is super nice, WiFi is great, skylights are beautiful, and the kitchen is surprisingly useful (we cooked fondue and pasta). I would recommend it to a friend.

    Travis2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We, a family of 3, were at Linda's cabin for 5 nights. The cabin had breakfast and coffee, a small kitchen and a small bath and a heater and a TV. The cabin was cozy and had a Garden with Christmas lights. there were also a creek and a bridge. this was beatiful. Linda was a very friendly Host. She even installed safety plugs into the electric sockets and putted some toys for our baby. She gave us travelling tips and was chatty. We enjoyed staying there. :)

    Christina2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfection! Our stay was short, but their space was just the right size for my wife and I. Its hard to find a cottage like this that isn't more than two people need. Linda was lovely and her dog Addy let us know when a little river otter had swam into their pond. Their location is both out of the way and secluded and centrally located if your wanting to see a lot of Marin and the surrounding areas. We didn't even get the chance to explore the state park which is just down the road. I would totally stay there again. The only problem we had was with figuring out the combination lock, which took some practice.

    Erik2014-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Linda's. She was so sweet and helpful when we ran into a need. The garden is beautiful - a real oasis. The cottage is small, but cozy - as advertised. The kitchenette is just that - a small space for minimal cooking, so don't plan to do big meal cooking. It's great for quick, simple meals. We loved the skylights above the bed to look at the stars. I highly recommend.

    Anne2017-08-27T00:00:00Z

"Do everything at once. Or do nothing at all. Ride the Ferry across the Bay to Fisherman's Wharf, tour San Francisco, have a moonlight boat tour beyond the Golden Gate Bridge. Explore the Wine Country and ride the Napa Valley Wine Train. Go horseback riding in the Redwoods. Explore the local beach towns, with their surfing and kayaking. Picnic or lounge on a beach. Or you can launch yourself from a mountain and soar 2000 feet to the ocean's break. You can go to dinner. Or you can visit the ranches and farms that supply some of the finest restaurants in the world. There's no such thing as a typical Marin County vacation. Because there's nothing "typical" in Marin. Plan your next trip and it will be like no other! Marin County is well known for its arts, entertainment and culture. The County is proud of its home-grown Marin Symphony that plays to sold-out audiences each season. The Mountain Play, one of the longest running theatre companies in Marin, performs its annual Broadway musical production in a huge amphitheatre at the top of Mount Tamalpais. The Marin Center in San Rafael is the venue for national and international music, theatre and dance productions and numerous exhibitions throughout the year."
  • Renee and Wayne were truly kind and amazing hosts! This was my first experience with airbnb and I honestly do not know if I will ever find another one that will top this one! They exchanged numbers and were always there if I had any questions. They provided laundry detergent and cleaning supplies. I was there for almost 3 months for my travel nursing assignment. The scenery was gorgeous and it was a very quiet neighborhood. I really enjoyed taking my dog for walks and jogging. It was very close to some hiking trails and only 25 minutes from local beaches that I will greatly miss. They let me bring my miniature dachshund with me and they even offered to take her out at bedtime and in the morning because I worked night shift. They offered to watch her when I would be gone for a day. They have a very cute dog named Jenny and a garden with a duck named Lucky! They even took me on a sight-seeing tour of San Francisco and took pictures of me with The Golden Gate Bridge because Mr. Wayne is a photographer. They are truly amazing people who were always there for me. They even dropped me off at the airport when I went back home to visit family! I will truly miss them and became friends with them. Wish I could have stayed longer. I hope they know how much I truly appreciate them during my stay!!!!

  • Awesome and quiet! We slept better at Wayne and Renee's than we sleep at our own house. Very clean, very comfortable, very friendly. Cant think of a more romantic get away for my new fiancee and I. P.S. The matress was so comfortable we asked for the brand so we could buy one for ourself!

    Noah2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place to stay! Renée was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She helped my wife and I get orientated and was a great resource. She provided us with tons of additional kindness and courtesy to make sure our stay was comfortable. The flat was lovely. A perfect get away. It had everything we needed and is quite a relaxing, peaceful place. The area was beautiful, the country side in Marin was breathtaking. We enjoyed every minute of it. Especially the guide book that aided us in finding the best restaurants etc. The duck was a handsome, polite gentleman the whole time. Would definitely say again! Thank you!!

    Atticus2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Romantic Getaway with Mountain Views was one of the very best AirBnB experiences we have had to date. For our trip to Northern California it was in an ideal location. We found it quiet and within easy reach of a number of excellent restaurants and markets. (we particularly liked the Good Earth Food store in Fairfax, a short trip away.) The rooms were spotlessly clean with all of the amenities we needed to relax, enjoy local wine and foods, and to prepare a meal of we so chose. We appreciated the use of the laundry! Not having been to Marin County we found the location perfect. A nice balance of "out of the way" yet close to a number of nice Marin parks, towns and fun spots. You are right in the middle between heading to the beautiful coast or heading into the City. All in all we HIGHLY recommend staying with Renee and Wayne as they are fabulous. They communicate very well yet you never get the feeling that they are at all bothering you. Any necessary communication was either a quick call or email with immediate response! All very reassuring. Staying here is a must if you are in the area!

    James2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Renee's, as in the picture, the bed room has great natural light! We open the window blinds all the time without any worrying of privacy. The interior of the place is clean and cute. The duck and the pond is very special natural ambiance, good going there! Renne and Wayne are super friendly and attentive, we enjoyed very much! Thank you!

We are only an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge but far-removed from city life. Fresh air, peacefulness, wide open spaces. There is a privacy gate please read directions on how to open it. Sheep, horses, chickens, turkeys and wildlife roam happily on our property. The Point Reyes National Seashore and Tomales Bay are only minutes away.
Black Mountain Farm is nestled on a mountain with sweeping views for miles in all directions. There are wide open grassy knolls with farms animals grazing peacefully nearby. Wake up to a view of the whole Nicasio reservoir. We have a binder in the pond house with suggestions for wonderful sights and deliscious restaurants nearby.
  • The view is astonishing, we felt very warm and comfortable at night. MArnie and her family are lovely people and we would recommend this to anyone we know

    Camilo2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a blissfull weekend in Marnie's pond house. The experience far surpassed any of our AirBnb stays in the past. Marnie, a generous and considerate host, shared a special spot on her hilltop farm with us. The View was to die for, the setup was simple but solid and reminded us of the virtues of keeping things simple. Also, there are free roaming sheep and and a couple of mellow toads chatting on the banks of the pond in the evenings. And then there is Ruby the farm dog who is the best farm dog. Period. At least in our opinion...

    Sebastian2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This pond home on Black Mountain Farm was one of the most unique and wonderful Air BnB experiences I've ever had. My partner and I were so happy to had been transported into a beautiful landscape of lakes, mountains and farmland for a romantic getaway. Marnie was a wonderful host, she was very understanding when we were a bit late for our checkin time. Everything was clean and comfortable in the pond house and we were more than happy to not have electricity (though she was ever so thoughtful to include a small battery to charge cell devices in the house). that was incredibly handy! The pond was wonderful and refreshing to go swimming in and the animals were lovely to have roaming around. This is a peaceful getaway and I recommend it to anyone traveling in the area!

    Sarah2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The pond house is in an exquisite location! Great base to hike in and explore the Point Reyes area. The house itself is rustic, as described. It's a bit like a camping experience where you don't have to bring anything. Marnie is a welcoming, but discreet hostess. We wanted privacy and got it. The listing and price is accurate. It doesn't over-promise.

    Cate2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Marnie was very friendly, welcoming and flexible. Incredibly cute and private cottage next to a small pond along with a beautiful lake view from the window. Lots of amenities we didn't get to use like fire pit and bbq, but will definitely use next time. Perfect place for a little day/weekend get away from the busy city life. So incredibly beautiful...pictures do not do justice.

    Sam2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay and Marnie is a perfect host. Because of frequent rains, Marnie reached out to me in advance to talk about possible "inconveniences," like walking in the mud or the possibility of rain, and openly talked about her previous guests experiences and gave tips to prepare. She was very supportive and helpful. She asked us if we needed help with directions. She did her best to make our stay enjoyable. The view was spectacular, the location is peaceful and serene. The tour, the garden, and the farm animals made the stay more enjoyable. I can't describe how much I enjoyed our stay. The camp stove, outdoor shower and the outhouse made us feel like camping but with the touch of convenience. The pond house was well insulated, Marnie also gave us extra sheets to make sure that we are warm. Definitely highly recommend this place. It's a hidden gem 3

  • We really enjoyed our weekend stay in the pondhouse! Marnie was really friendly and helpful in giving suggestions for good hikes in the area, and showed us baby bunnies! The room was comfortable overall, but a little bit cold at night (we visited in the spring), so we were glad we brought extra blankets. The shower, once you get over it being outdoors, is actually pretty nice and private, and it heats up really well. And of course, the views are great!

Retreat to the sanctuary of this beautiful restored cottage at the geographic and cultural heart of Marin County. Set on a seasonal creek, with a sunny deck and lots of privacy. Closest neighbors are the goats and chickens.
Retreat to the sanctuary of the Nicasio Creek Cottage, a beautiful historical getaway at the geographic and cultural heart of Marin County. With the constant stress of daily living, most of us need regular contact with nature to switch off, unwind and reflect. Just 45 minutes from downtown San Francisco, 20 minutes to Point Reyes National Seashore, 30 minutes to the Sonoma Wine Country and just up the road from the Lucas Film's creative epicenter, Skywalker Ranch, a stay in this newly remodeled cottage - once the deer camp for the local ranch - has you perfectly situated to enjoy all that the area has to offer. Whether its just a short weekend refresh or a peaceful extended stay amongst the beautiful natural surrounds, you will come away inspired and revitalized! Enjoy the serene country setting by day and dance the night away to live music at the celebrated Rancho Nicasio. Or pick up some delicious locally made cheese at the Nicasio Valley Cheese Company, California's only certified organic farmstead cheesemaker, and enjoy it on the sunny, creek-side deck with a glass of wine. If you are more the active type, this is a paradise for cyclists, hikers, bikers and naturalists of all sorts. Hike the hills around the property or bring your road bikes and enjoy one of the many famed rides that begin at the cottage's private gate. The cottage has a private automated gate entrance (owners live at the other end of the property), large deck overlooking a seasonal creek and waterfall, full kitchen, small bedroom with queen size bed and cozy living room that opens up onto the deck. The unit is close to Lucas Valley Road so there is traffic noise during the day. It is also close to the chicken coop so you can hear the hens (no rooster!) as well. From the pictures the unit looks bigger than it is thanks to the wide angle lens. For reference, it is about 480 square feet in total, perfect for a couple but not appropriate for groups, people needing to set up a crib (no room!) or friends that need separate beds, etc. Coffee and fresh eggs are stocked in the fridge upon arrival. There is limited wireless internet available. There are chickens, goats, sheep at certain times of the year, cats, and dogs on the property so for their safety and comfort there are absolutely NO visiting pets permitted. Even the very sweet and well behaved visiting cats and dogs are disruptive to the animals that live here so please don't ask! Sorry, NO exceptions. There is also an abundance of wildlife that share this property so be aware that you could see and/or encounter deer, fox, bobcat, raccoon, snakes, bats, ticks, yellow jackets and many other types of creatures at various times of the year depending on when you visit.
This is a beautiful, rural residential neighborhood.
  • Had a wonderful time staying at this great little place. The grounds were very pretty and well maintained. The deck behind the cottage and the inside of the cottage itself were well taken care of, and most everything seemed new. We particularly thought the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were great: there was a minor issue with low water pressure on our last day and they fixed it immediately without us even needing to ask. I highly recommend this rental for nice getaways for two. One can be very happy and relaxed just hanging out at the cottage, and it's also a great jumping off point for exploring Marin. Will be back for sure.

  • We were in Nicasio for a wedding, and we couldn't have stayed at a more comfortable and better situated cottage such as this. Holly was very accommodating and let us check in early so our toddler could nap before going to the wedding - if you are a parent you would know how qualify naps could impact the rest of your day. We had a great time! In the morning we were greeted by the goats and the chicken - my daughter was ecstatic. In the afternoon we played the swing and stayed in the hammock to enjoy the beautiful woods, the sweet air, and the soothing breeze. We also took a trip to Fairfax which is close by. Holly left fresh eggs in the fridge for us, and there was coffee, tea, and essentials well stocked in the kitchen. It was very thoughtful and we felt well taken care of. I highly recommend Holly's cottage if you are staying around the area. We were extremely happy and hope to have a chance to stay there again.

  • Holly was an excellent host and the cabin and the surrounding area were lovely. The cabin was warm and comfortable and the interior looked new. Holly also provided us with fresh eggs from the chickens kept on the property. I recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

    Eric2013-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The setting is absolutely gorgeous - tall trees, piney smell, a babbling creek. From every window is a view of the sheep + goats grazing. It was such a treat to be in this setting, but still have many of the comforts of home. The cottage was well appointed - finishes were nice (gorgeous floors), bed was comfortable, and lots of extras like nice bath products, well stocked fridge, and good coffee. We had our one year old daughter with us, and she was in heaven along with us. She adored visiting the animals multiple times per day, but throwing rocks into the creek was the highlight. She would never have left if we hadn't made her. :) There are loads of lovely hikes nearby. In our 48 hour stay we managed 3 of them. We can recommend the Bay Area Ridge Trail, Point Reyes National Seashore, and Samuel P Taylor State Park. Holly was the perfect host. She answered a LOT of my questions, and she was friendly, but gave us plenty of privacy. We would love to come back to the cottage again!

    Kathryn2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Holly's cottage was a DREAM. If you're looking for a peaceful country getaway in a gorgeous setting, this place is it. The cottage is tastefully furnished with a generous, well-equipped kitchen and as a bonus, we had fresh eggs waiting for us when we checked in. Total win!

    Danielle2013-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect weekend at Holly's cottage. The accommodations were great and she was very communicative and responsive. Highly recommend.

    Daniel2014-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a retreat from the city. The accommodations are clean, tidy and well maintained. Holly was a wonderful host with excellent communication and great recommendations. I would definitely consider staying here again.

  • This was our second time staying with Holly. She is the perfect host; communicative, easy-going, and quick to respond to questions. The place is perfect. We'll likely stay again.

Beautiful cabin in the Redwoods in the San Geronimo Valley. The cabin is at the top of the ridge with stunning views of the valley and surrounded by a grove of majestic Redwoods. Hiking and mountain biking trails start right out the front door.
Surrounded by beautiful Redwood trees, this space is beautiful and peaceful! It is almost like backpacking, with sunlight and beautiful views from all rooms, you feel as if you are in the middle of the forest, but in style in a cozy and comfortable cabin with all the amenities. Large open space preserve with lakes, Mt. Tamalpais and hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain biking trails start right outside the front door. The cabin has wifi, a smart TV with free Hulu and Netflix and a Sonos speaker system. It also has a library and games to enjoy during your stay! If you like to cook, the kitchen has a new gas stove and is fully equipped with everything you need to make your favorite meal.
The cabin is at the edge of a large open space preserve stretching nearly 10 miles south to Mt. Tamalpais and west to Hwy 1. Mountain biking rentals are available in the nearby town of Fairfax. The Neighborhood is spread out and quiet, neighbors like privacy, so please be respectful if you walk or bike through the neighborhood. San Gernomino is a small community, the closest town for shopping and restaurants is Fairfax, just a few miles away. Fairfax has a number of grocery stores including a large organic health food market and many excellent restaurants!
  • I had the best experience staying in Lisa's cabin and also having her as a host. There were four of us that stayed in her cabin for 2 weeks and it felt like home. During our stay, she constantly made sure that we were okay from the smallest things like towels, rugs, food, etc. Since the cabin is surrounded by many trees, one of it fell during our stay and blocked off the road so we couldn't get out. Although we were stuck, Lisa took us out to dinner and drove us to get some grocery so we could have some food. The neighbors are also very friendly. Due to the fallen tree, a power pole also collapsed since it was adjacent to it. The neighbors were very kind in keeping us in touch of the power supply updates and offered us some necessities to survive the black out. Incidents like these might be something you want to consider when living in the woods, but to us, it wasn't much of a hassle since we actually got to bond without having to use our devices. The view of the cabin is really nice, the parking space is enough to fit 3 - 4 cars, and the cabin comes with necessities you might need during your stay. For our age group (19 - 24), staying in a cabin was something new since we're very in to the "city vibe", but I would definitely recommend it for ANY age group. Whether you want to take your family for a trip, or group of friends (no parties allowed), Lisa's cabin was the perfect place for us. I'm giving Lisa's cabin a 4 star just because it was overall great, except the not-having-electricity part :) lol.

    Salvecho2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Lisa's cabin in the woods!

  • If you're looking for a quiet secluded place to get away from the city and have dreams of sleeping amongst redwoods, this is your place. Bring a car or a bike. It's also convenient to Point Reyes Seashore.

    Eunice2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's place was exactly as she depicted and lovely. It's safe, secluded, remote but really close to an adorable town. It's rustic, but well appointed so you feel taken care of. The upstairs bed is so comfortable. It was a nice working haven! Great wifi signal and good AT&T cell service - I worked from the deck or the living room all week.

    Sarah2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is in an incredible location with beautiful trails right out the back door. The space was perfect for a weekend away for four.

    Neil2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was perfect! It was clean and so so close to beautiful hiking trails. Lisa was easy to get on with and has great communication. The sunrises were wonderful because of the location of the deck and the large windows. Our pups loved to explore the outdoors here. A great cozy cabin, with just enough seclusion and town life. Thank you, Lisa!

    Mickey2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s cabin is a very cozy spot for a getaway in Marin County. We were looking for a dog-friendly house with easy access to hiking in the woods and and beaches at Point Reyes, and Lisa’s place was a great location for us. It’s secluded and quiet with amazing views and hiking trails just out the door, but not far from civilization. The cabin is a good combination of rustic (wood paneled walls, antique stove, etc.) and modern (warm electric fireplace, smart TV, etc.). We enjoyed our stay - Lisa is a very responsive host and we would be happy to return there next time we make a trip to Marin.

Their recommendation on the Indian restaurant nearby was spot on, some of the best Indian food I have ever had. I would definitely recommend staying here and will consider this a home away from home for me.

  • Marcia and Andy were extremely thoughtful and thorough hosts, and the EcoNest was comfortable and beautifully appointed. We slept incredibly well in the cozy bed. Marcia was also very welcoming of our dog and gave us a long list of nearly dog friendly hikes, sites, and restaurants, which we referenced often. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

  • Magical, marvelous, cozy, and crisp! Tucked up in a tree-filled valley, the Buurd Nest is a fairy delightful dwelling. Marcia is a loving, conscious, considerate, and all-around amazing hostess. She went out of her way to provide my favorite treats, directions here and there, info about local activities/places/events, and even an in-house energy/bodywork session by an incredible local healer. You can see a million stars at night, fill your lungs with refreshingly clean air, and walk along quiet trails lined with beautiful redwoods right from the nest. Thank you Marcia for helping me celebrate a beautiful Samhain + birthday. It was so special, and I will cherish my memories of the lovely weekend escape. Yay for big trees and magical forest adventures. Gratitude for you and your sweet space.

  • The eco nest, in amongst the trees was a wonderful retreat. It was peaceful and calm and Marcia was a gracious and knowledgeable host and also a wonderful, gorgeous person. There were organic treats in the fridge, organic bed and bedding and lots of other thoughtful touches which made our stay a real pleasure. Communication was always excellent and we had some great conversations! We would love to stay again.

  • As a former travel consultant, I have visited many countries & stayed in a lot of places. The buurd'snest is one of the most charming & delightful places I've stayed. So beautifully, yet simply decorated with organic products. Light, airy, & cheerful, & very clean. I enjoyed a restful sleep - 2nd time on an organic mattress. The hosts live up to their talk about earth-friendly green travel. I volunteer for non-profits in the area & they offer a nice discount for last-minute volunteers. This is my 2nd trip to the nest..

Our home is a cozy place to call home while you explore all the beauty this area has to offer. Whether you are interested in going to the beach, hiking, biking, horse back riding or golfing, you’ll love the peaceful, nature-filled San Geronimo Valley location, the coziness of our happy home, and the proximity to so many fun things to do in Marin.
Our cozy craftsman is set up on the hill at the end of a dead end street in San Geronimo, CA. Our 1.5 acre property borders Marin open space. You can literally go for a hike right out our door. The deer and other wildlife come down to drink in our creek and can regularly be seen in our yard. Our home is a relaxing and peaceful place to call home as you explore the bay area.
We love our neighborhood! There are so many things to see and do in the area. Do you like hiking, going to the beach, exploring cute towns, horse back riding, cycling, golfing, meditation, or exploring San Francisco? Some of these activities you can do just out our door, others are a short drive. West Marin is one of the best kept secrets of the Bay Area...shhhh....don't tell anyone! So, tell me more you say... Would you like to walk among the majestic redwood trees? You don't have to head to the touristy (but still fun) Muir Woods. For an unspoiled, local look at redwoods you could head to Roy's Redwoods, about 3-4 minutes drive away. For a longer walk and exploration of the local redwoods, head 5 minutes down the road to Samuel P Taylor National park where you can have a picnic in the redwoods, hike a few trails or bike along the paths. If you love the beach and coastal areas you could take the picturesque 20 minute drive to Limantour Beach or head to Point Reyes Station (also 20 minutes) where there are delicious restaurants and a quaint coastal town to explore. If it is a farm to table meal you are after, head to Olema to Sir and Star located in the old historic Olema Inn. Maybe you are in the area to attend a retreat at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Our home is the perfect peaceful retreat and only 5 minutes from Spirit Rock. Rather play golf? Well, head to San Geronimo Golf Course, just a 2 minute drive away. There are also several ranches in the immediate area for horse back riding if that takes your fancy. I recommend heading to Fairfax for a hippy town experience, just 10 minutes away. There you will find a movie theater with real buttered popcorn, the Marin Museum of Bicycling and Mountain Bike Hall of Fame and the best organic ice-cream on the planet at Fairfax Scoop. Still looking for more ideas? There are an endless number of day trips you could take - Sonoma, Muir Woods, Sausalito and of course, San Francisco. Our favorite way to travel there is to drive to the ferry in Larkspur Landing (30 minute drive) and take the ferry to the San Francisco Ferry Building. From there you can explore Market Street or hop on a trolly to your final city destination. The possibilities are endless!
  • Shreya and her family made us feel welcome during the booking process and during the reservation itself. Shreya is a great communicator, very friendly and quick to reply! The house itself is large and comfortable, and the deck that wraps around the house is especially nice. It was an easy and relaxing stay; recommended if you want to explore Marin county!

A stay with us includes a hearty breakfast before you head out. The San Geronimo Valley is located halfway between US 101 and the Pacific beaches of Marin County. Our home is in a very quiet, semi rural neighborhood. From here it is an easy 35 minute drive into San Francisco and there are other beautiful areas to explore. Since we live on a hillside, if you are unable to climb stairs, ours is not the best accommodation for you. There are about 15 stairs leading to the guest room.
We offer a room and bathroom (shower only, no tub) with a private entrance. The room has a queen bed, microwave and mini fridge. The room is not spacious, and the bathroom has a shower and is a small room, but as the reviews indicate, the accommodations are comfortable. The bathroom has a toilet which includes a small basin above the tank that delivers cold, potable water. It is the only sink in the bathroom. We do not accept pets or offer kitchen privileges.
The neighborhood is quiet and semi rural.
  • We ended up running late and were unable to visit with John and Katie. We did take a tour of their home and said good morning to John. He was really nice and helpful, and we unfortunately missed out on having breakfast with them. During our short stay I thought I left personal belongings. John and Katie searched the place for my missing pjs and were a big help. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely have to visit again.

  • one of the best airbnb experiences ever. the room (and the rest of their home) was absolutely cozy and bright. Love everything about our stay. John was extremely kind and provided a most excellent breakfast. Thank you so much!! we will definitely be staying with them again if we are in the area.

  • Katie and John were extremely hospitable during our visit. My wife and I were on a getaway, just the two of us, and San Geronimo was our last stop. Katie was extremely cordial while greeting us and gave us a tour of their fantastic house. The room we were staying in was clean, already warmed for us, and even included a binder with food options around us with menus. After a dinner out in a nearby town we returned and enjoyed a relaxing dip in the hot tub. We had previously done a fair amount of hiking so a hot dip was extremely soothing. It was made even better with a clear night and thousands of stars above us. I would be happy to return anytime and would certainly recommend a stay there.

    Daniel2013-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, great location, very accommodating and welcoming hosts. I would gladly stay there again (and hope to).

  • My partner and I stayed with Katie and John for two nights while hiking in Muir Woods and Point Reyes and had an excellent experience! Katie and John couldn't have been better hosts - they were incredibly friendly and welcoming upon our arrival and made us feel instantly at home. My partner and I both felt like we were staying with family friends. Their guestroom was clean, quiet and comfortable with a very comfy bed and helpful amenities (towels, robes, mini-fridge, binder of local recommendations, etc.). Breakfast was also delicious and greatly appreciated! If you need a base to explore Fairfax, Point Reyes, or anywhere else near the San Geronimo valley, stay with Katie and John! They're wonderful!

    Charlotte2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Katie was awesome! I received a message from them promptly after booking with instructions and suggestions for restaurants nearby. When we arrived, she greeted us and showed us around. The guest room was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was equally as amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

    Tiffany2015-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Katie was great, she was very attentive. The house is located in a beautiful, residential neighborhood in the woods. The rooms has its private entrance, everything was very very clean, and cozy! The restroom has a different system, where you have to flush the toilet to get water from the sink. There is also a parking space available. Katie gave us recommendations on where to eat the night we checked in, and the next day the breakfast was great! We had the chance to spend a little bit of time with Katie and she is great!! Definitely recommend Katie's house!

Fantastic photos! Another couple chose to have their ceremony on the swimming pool deck. We set up a canopy tent for the bride and groom ... chairs were arranged on either side for guests. We are located in Marin County in the forested, tranquil San Geronimo Valley, surrounded by rolling hills, douglas fir, oak and bay trees. There are excellent hiking trails, golf and restaurants very nearby. World class hiking, biking and equestrian facilities are a short drive. If you or your children have not seen the giant redwood trees, that truly is a must do. In this regard, our home is about 8 minutes from Samuel P Taylor State Park, where there are magnificent redwood trees, many right next to the Lagunitas Creek. This experience is highly similar to visiting Muir Woods but you do not need to park, take a bus and wait in long lines with a huge crowd of people. Samuel P Taylor Park is a mystical place … children & adults can walk right into the hallowed out base of some giant redwood trees. Plan a picnic ... the kids love playing in the creek. The many beaches near us offer adults and kids great joy! The village of Stinson Beach, has a spectacular beach and the quaint town features good restaurants, art galleries, surf shop, etc. Point Reyes National Seashore Headquarters is about 20 minutes from our Lagunitas home. It was established to preserve and protect wilderness, natural ecosystems, and cultural resources along the diminishing undeveloped coastline of the western United States. The Seashore is a sanctuary for myriad plant and animal species and for the human spirit—for discovery, inspiration, solitude, and recreation—and exists as a reminder of the human connection to the land. Marine biologists have identified nearly a third of all known marine mammal species in the waters surrounding Point Reyes. Blue whales and humpback whales feed there during spring and summer months. Gray whales migrate past the shores twice a year on their round trip from Alaska to Baja. The Point Reyes National Seashore Visitor Center on Bear Valley Road is a fantastic opportunity for children & adults. There is a natural history museum, maps of all the hiking trails, Miwok Indian cultural experiences AND, across the road, the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake Trail … it’s just a short hike, but very memorable. On the way to Stinson Beach is the "Five Brooks Horseback Riding" facility. You can take short or all day trips inland or to the seashore. Nearby Tomales Bay features “Blue Waters Kayaking”, a full service kayaking outfitter. Local Restaurants & Deli: Lagunitas Grocery & Deli is just at the bottom of our hill. It features an extensive deli. The owners create marvelous home cooked breakfasts served in a quaint dining space where locals gather. “Arti Restaurant", also just at the bottom of our hill, features Indian fare and gets RAVE reviews. "Two Bird Cafe at the Valley Inn", about a mile away, provides very fine American food dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a charming outdoor dining deck. In season, they serve fresh oysters. The town of Fairfax is about 15 minutes away ... LOTS of great live music, movie theater, restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. The village of Nicasio, about 10-15 minutes away, features the "Rancho Nicasio” restaurant, an old fashioned saloon type of building. Movie celebrities have been known to visit there when visiting director George Lucas' ranch down the road. The "Rancho" has lunches, dinners and music in the evenings ... on the weekends they host live lawn concerts with BBQ food ... makes for a GREAT day! Lots of fresh, organic, local food, cheese and organic markets ... no shortage of gluten free offerings. The "Good Earth" market in Fairfax is all organic. The Fairfax Farmer's Market is on Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm. The local San Geronimo Farmer's Market is also on Wednesday from 1 - 7:30. There are glorious hiking trails right from our driveway ... do a search and all of them will pop up. We're also happy to give you ideas when you arrive.
  • Our friends and family had a wonderful time staying at Geraldine's. The home is so comfortable and welcoming. It's perfect for a family get away.

    Martha2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at this house was like staying at my grandmother's -- in the best way. It was perfect for a family in so many ways. First, our youngest loved just handing out playing pool and soaking in the hot tub. The rest of us loved the area and the hidden gems just nearby. We were there off-season in the middle of a major rainstorm and power outage, but still loved our time.

    Debora2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our time in this Airbnb! It was the perfect retreat of peace and escape from the city after a long day of exploration. Yet the pool table, hot tub, swimming pool, playing cards, wifi and Netflix was enough to entertain teenagers, adults and a 10yr old! We didn't meet our hosts but they were only a call or text away if we needed anything and their lovely neighbour Cheryl gave us a warm welcome. The outside space is fantastic! We used the BBQ a couple of times and visited the local Indian too. Big Thumbs Up.

  • We enjoyed a wonderful week at Geraldine's and Joe's place. The location is beautiful and peaceful, but close to wonderful nature and not too far to visit San Francisco, Napa, Santa Rosa and other interesting places. We also enjoyed the huge deck with bbq, pool and sitting areas. I can warmly recommend the house for a great family vacation!

    Jaani2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We rented the house for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful visit. Our host left us wine and lots of guides on how to find things and work things. The house was very clean, attractive, and well kept. Great proximity to Point Reyes.

  • Hands down one of the best AirBnB experiences we have ever had! We cannot say enough great things about Geraldine and Joe's home and their kindness. From the moment Geraldine gave us a tour of the home and her elaborate garden, we knew we made the right decision to stay here. Our family stayed for 3 nights and we only wish we booked the home for much longer. The pool area made for great family memories! Our 3 month old baby had her first swim in the pool! The hot tub was divinely relaxing. The putting green was the perfect activity to wind down from the day. The kitchen was fully equipped - we even took advantage of the Vitamix and made smoothies in the mornings. Parking was convenient for our family. Really, it was an ideal environment for a family vacation. The view of the canyon and the trees from the home was surreal, serene and beyond beautiful. Thank you Geraldine and Joe! We will treasure the memories made at your gorgeous and comfortable home.

  • This is such a lovely place to stay. Geraldine made sure my family and I were well cared for, filling the home with flowers and making sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. Sitting atop a hill, the home features amazing views of garden and valley. I loved watching the sun rise over the trees, and the moon travel across the sky at night—fantastic star-gazing. (I was up with my newborn throughout the night, and was able to watch the sky quite a lot.) My mother loved reading in the meditation hut, and walking in the garden. My family also enjoyed the hot tub, the billiards table, and the putting green. They also made several day trips to Point Reyes beaches and nearby hiking trails while my mother, newborn and I attended a retreat at the nearby Spirit Rock Meditation Center. It was a busy nine days, but our time flowed easily with many thanks to the hospitality from Geraldine and Joe. We had the perfect home away from home.

    Monica2014-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing property in a beautiful location, and provided us with the perfect getaway over a long weekend. The list of amenities is almost too long to list, and it was such a lovely home with so many things to do that we rarely left the property. Geraldine was a gracious host, very communicative, and was readily available to answer any questions. A really superb vacation getaway - we hope to return soon!

My place is close to public transport, parks, and art and culture. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the neighborhood. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
My place feels like a calm oasis from the heat and street noise. It's located in a sunny patch surrounded by soaring trees and a gentle stream. I tend the sweet garden which I think makes this place magical. I love my home!
I have the best neighbors in the world. I share a backyard with quiet wonderful family.
  • We had a lovely stay at Kimberland's home. Beautiful house with a beautiful yard. A lovely getaway! I would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing place to stay.

  • A charming and comfortable home. Lovely indoors and out.

    Jim2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful home in a great location. Right across the street from a general store and a delicious Indian restaurant. Half an hour from lots of attractions around Point Reyes National Seashore. We loved taking care of the two cats who were a little shy but enjoyed some attention in the evenings.

    Connor2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely garden and outdoor space coupled with a very cozy and cute home! Perfect location for a weekend away and close to so many hiking trails.

    Adrienne2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This home is super tidy, and cozy! The general store across the street is great and the Indian food restaurant is tasty! It takes about 20 mins max to get to Point Reyes and there is a State Park just 5 mins away. All in all a good location and comfortable place to stay. The only consideration that was initially challenging for me was the expectation to care for her two cats. Though they are primarily outside cats and there is no inside litter box, we were asked to feed them twice a day. In the end, it wasn't that big of a deal BUT it did surprise me as an odd request/expectation.

    Nancy2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • very good please to stay. Beautiful rooms and beautiful yard. Kim provided us breakfast and fruit. Her cats are very cute. We enjoyed our trip. Thank you.

    Neo2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • A little more like borrowing somebody's home than renting a B&B. Still, good vibe and great location

    Jonathan2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed Kimberlands beautiful home. She has obviously put alot of love and energy into it, both inside and outside- in the most beautiful gardens. It is right across from the market and the best Indian food. We did have a tough time keeping ontop of our smallest (16month old) child when we were in the home as it is beautiful and funished with lots of things he could -and wanted to get into. So we spent as little time there as possible. You do have to feed the cats which was hectic for us as we were dealing with small children and trying to leave right away in the AM and come home and get everyone right to bed. She would like you to feed wet food as well as dry food and also turn off and on a cat bed heater out side. Overall, Kimberland offers a gorgeous home in a great location and is quick and helpful communicator.

Mill Valley - go to the downtown square and have a latte. Just enjoy watching the people. Muir Woods - experience the giant redwoods. Also nearby is Mt. Tamalpais, the highest point in Marin. Alpine Lake - wonderful road trip to this lake ; watch for the many bicyclists. You can hike along and up the 30 or so waterfalls that flow into this lake. From here you can take a scenic ferry trip right to the Ferry Building on Market Street in San Francisco's Embarcadero. For shopping centers- in Corte Madera there is the Village and the Town Center. One (Village)is on the east side of freeway 101 and the other (Town Center)is on the west side. Village has a Nordstrom Dept. Store with a excellent restaurant, Blue Stove, offering small plates on the second floor. Rancho Nicasio - an old style lodge type country restaurant and bar. Sometimes live entertainment and dancing. Their bar menu has excellent nachos. 5 miles north of the house on scenic Nicasio road. Residents of Marin enjoy excellent schools (families with kids move here for the public schools), people in Marin live longer than anywhere in the USA, crime rates are extremely low, and Marin county has the highest per capita income of any county in California and among the highest in the US. Organic food is very popular in Marin. Many restaurants offer mostly or entirely organic foods. Try the Good Earth grocery store in Fairfax-- all organic foods (and I have to say expensive) My favorite restaurant: Buckeye Roadhouse. Best chicken wings in bar area. Cocktails excellent. Love their smoked beef brisket with mashed potatoes. Excellent desserts too! 15 Shoreline Hwy, Mill Valley. Right by 101 freeway - Stinson Beach exit.
  • Perfect stay! Great location to access the trails in the area. Comfortable cottage designed and decorated with taste. Robert was very welcoming and shared with us plenty of tips for great food and sightseeing.

  • Robert is an excellent host! He is very helpful and friendly. The space is nothing short of amazing - very well decorated and appointed; super clean. Highly recommend.

  • We only stayed one night. The place was a beautiful studio. Well laid out with the basic amenities that you would have in a hotel suite. The shower head pressure was much to our liking. Everything was clean & serene. We had very little interaction after our initial introduction with Bob. We appreciated the peaceful and private stay.

    Mei-Ling2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Robert's place! It was all that we were hoping for- and more! The space is gorgeous- very clean, modern, and lots of natural sunlight. The heating system inside the room is really quiet, easy to use, and great for the chilly weather. The neighborhood is really peaceful. It was the perfect place for recharging after the holidays. Definitely one of our favorite airbnb stays. We will be back soon!

    Kristi2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Even more beautiful in person, this little paradise was almost perfect. Robert was immediately attentive and available, and also gave us our privacy. We enjoyed the visiting deer and birds, and the lovely forest view. Very comfortable and safe feeling too. The only thing I would suggest for improvement would be window coverings - as the near-full moonlight was gorgeous, but tended to keep me awake.

    Michelle2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Robert's guest house. It was exactly as depicted: modern, quiet, clean, in a beautiful spot surrounded by nature. Robert greeted us upon arrival and told us about things, directed us to a nice walk nearby. We would definitely stay there again.

Mid way between Pt. Reyes Nat'l Seashore & Central Marin. Perfect destination for hiking, biking, surfing, golfing, whale watching and more. Quiet setting in beautiful, unique guest house. Short drive to beach, short walk to restaurant or market/deli.
Our guest house is intimately situated at the base of an ancient mother redwood tree (the mother tree is long gone, but many of the sucker sprouts are over 3' in diameter). We can only guess the age of the mother tree -- thousands of years, at least. There are over 100 redwood trees on our property. This cozy yet spacious detached cottage sleeps up to three (one queen bed/one daybed). Beautiful kitchen with granite counters, a gas range/oven, microwave (no dishwasher); sky-lit bathroom (shower only); combined living/dining room; master bedroom with queen bed, separate laundry room and bonus sitting room with day bed; private deck for outdoor dining. Very comfortably furnished, with many special touches. All windows have Venetian blinds for nighttime privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking/dining needs, including toaster, microwave, and coffee maker with coffee/tea provided. The master bedroom has a soapstone propane stove which heats the entire apartment. The living room has a TV/DVD player, and a collection of movies to watch. The cottage has dedicated high speed Comcast Wifi. Enjoy our quiet, clean, easily-accessed getaway in the redwoods!
A quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of beautiful San Geronimo Valley; easy to find and access, with plenty of off street parking. Head west to Samuel P. Taylor State Park, or beyond to fabulous Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which encompasses most of our Marin coastline, featuring cute coastal towns and too many beaches to list. A good place to start is GGNRA's Bear Valley Visitor Center in Olema, where you can learn about local history, visit a traditional Miwok Village, or ride your bicycle for miles on a wonderful, vehicle free, rolling dirt road through pasture and glen that takes you right to the ocean. Try a cheese tasting tour of West Marin's many unique cheese factories, one of which is Nicasio Valley Cheese Co. in nearby bucolic Nicasio, a small town square set back in time; this town also features locally famous Rancho Nicasio, a restaurant/bar with live music on weekends. Drive 10 minutes beyond Nicasio to Marin French Cheese Factory on Pt. Reyes-Petaluma Road, a popular picnic destination and Marin's largest cheese factory, surrounded by rolling green lawns with picnic tables, and a pretty pond complete with ducks and geese. Organic vegetable farms and dairy farms dot this lovely rural road. Fairfax is our closest town heading east (five miles), where you'll find markets, gift shops, restaurants and small nightclubs (Fairfax is a small town known for its nightly live music). The Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco are only 30 minutes away -- the last exit before the Bridge leads you to Marin Headlands, part of our Golden Gate Nat'l Recreation Area, which has spectacular views and photo opportunities looking toward this iconic structure. Continue on this road to Pt. Bonita Lighthouse, Rodeo Beach, or to visit our wonderful Marine Mammal Center, which saves hundreds of injured sea lions and other lost seals and abandoned pups every year.
  • We had a really nice time staying with Laurie and Jack. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and nestled amongst a redwood forest grove. It felt like we were back in another relaxed time, even though their place is about a half an hour from San Francisco. It was a very relaxing and my family really enjoyed our weekend stay. We highly recommend and would enjoy coming back for another visit!

    Wes2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is lovely...decorated beautifully, calm and serene. Everything was spotless. The propane fireplace was cozy! We were out quite late at night, and the lights were turned on for us when we returned, very welcoming. I liked knowing the Kuhns were nearby.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Laurie's place. We arrived an hour early because the drive was not as long as we had anticipated and Laurie was very accommodating about letting us check in early. The apartment was even nicer than pictured with wonderful lamps, furniture, and accent pieces; Laurie had even added holiday decorations which made us feel right at home. The furnace in the main bedroom did a good job keeping us warm at night. The neighborhood was very quiet and really did make us feel like we were in the middle of the woods but within very close proximity to the many sights of Marin(URL HIDDEN) recommend arriving while there is still daylight because the entrance to the driveway is easy to miss.

  • We had a lovely stay in this cabin-like apartment in the redwoods. Peaceful and relaxing, it was the perfect location to explore all the wonderful nature of the area. Lively towns were only a short drive away. Laurie was very responsive and we had a lovely chat with her husband. We had a need for a hair dryer and they were able to bring one to us as soon as they could. Loved this peaceful haven!

    Becca2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the quiet and redwoods and the proximity to be horse stables, Woodacre market and spirit rock. Hosts were great and we especially appreciated the toys left out for our 2 year old.

    Michael2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie was wonderful and very responsive. She even left toy horses for my 6 year old after I told her she loved horses. Location of home was beautiful and perfect for our plans. We were greeted by a doe and her fawn eating just outside our window each morning and gorgeous redwoods surrounding us. The home was exactly what we were looking for at a good price. Highly recommend!

    Nicole2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is the loveliest spot, and Laurie is an exceedingly kind and thoughtful host! The pictures are lovely, and in person, the place is even better. We were greeted by a deer in the driveway when we pulled up and woke to beautiful redwood trees peering through the window. The deck outside under the trees is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the woods. The space inside was comfortable and cozy with plenty of room for 3 adults to share. The decor is so sweet with wonderful little touches throughout the house- it really feels like a home away. The space itself is sparkling clean and uncluttered. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer - we'd love to stick around and enjoy this place for much longer than our 2 days in the area allowed!

    Gillian2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the seclusion this place offered us, but also not being too far from local places. The place was clean, nicely decorated, and the hosts were very helpful! We would stay here again!

Farmlands and rolling hills, located just 1/2 mile to the park entrance of the Point Reyes National Seashore. Two minute walk to the village of Olema, next door to the amazing Sir and Star Restaurant.
  • This was one of my best AirBnb experiences. The comfy four-poster bed tucked among warmly painted wooden walls. The rays of light piercing the cloud and dappling light across the rolling hills. An ideal location to reset amidst incredible beauty.

    Adrien2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Nest was beyond perfect for both myself and my travel buddy. All the promised amenities were clean and convenient, and the views from the deck were gorgeous. Kelly was an incredibly helpful hostess during the whole trip, and even accommodated our late check-in time after a long drive. While the location was peaceful and quiet, the Nest was very close to restaurants and shops in Olema. Additionally, it was a short drive away from Pt. Reyes Station and the various beaches and hiking trails.

    Dani2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Nest was absolutely perfect for our anniversary weekend. It is a lovely space. French doors to the bedroom/sitting room, small kitchenette with table and bathroom. It felt plenty spacious. Lots of windows for natural light to come in. She has regular coffee and half and half - but if you drink decaf, bring your own (as we discovered). Or you can get it at a nearby store. It is a shame it isn't a bed and breakfast, as it certainly would be a fabulous addition.

    Edmond2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly's spot in the lovely village of Olema was delightful and fully lived up to my expectations. I will certainly be back sometime soon. I wanted to find a place I could get some much needed rest, reflection and quiet, and the "Nest" was perfect. Thank you Kelly!

    Greg2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent a long weekend at The Nest, and we loved using it as home base to explore Point Reyes and nearby wine country. The apartment is spacious, clean, and quiet, and we loved meeting the kitty and watching the horses out the window. A lovely stay, all around!

    Valerie2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time at The Nest! It was a sweet little space with a charming 'down on the farm' feel. Perfect for our stay! We appreciated the little touches like the personalized welcome sign, access to dvd library, tea selection, cozy sitting area overlooking the beautiful horses & field. Loved the art sculptures and quote signs throughout the property. Although there are other cottages on site, we didn't hear nor see the owners or other guests - again perfect for our stay. I accidentally left a bag upon check out, and Kelly was responsive and arranged for a quick pick up of my items. Thank you for a relaxing get away!

    Robert2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • My sister and I stayed at The Nest for 6 nights, and we were happy we did. It's centrally located in a charming town of Olema (a short walk to restaurants and a grocery store) and a 2 min drive to Point Reyes Station (more restaurants) and 10 - 30 min to most hiking trails in Point Reyes National Seashore. Our favorite moments at The Nest were sitting on our private deck having breakfast at sunrise and then our wine & cheese at sunset (amazing!). We also had a few visits by a friendly cat Po' Boy, who would hang out with us on the deck. The Nest is a cozy cottage in a farmhouse - it's very quiet so expect a great night's sleep. The farm setting brings instant serenity. We highly recommend The Nest, and plan to be back here more often!

Welcome to the Forest Cottage, your intimate, private and cozy escape into the wilderness. Stage dayhikes, lake dives, desert escapades and more from the comfort of this little slice of heaven. The teardrop has a well-appointed galley with a sink, two-burner camping stove, and plenty of dishes and cooking ware. If that wasn't enough, our picnic basket comes stocked with everything you need for a romantic lunch or dinner. The perfect weekend chariot for you and yours.
The teardrop is a completely unique rental - weighing in at only 800 lbs, it's small enough to be towed by a motorcycle yet contains a full (tiny) kitchen and comfy bed. With plugs, a fan and an electric sink, this teardrop is the ultimate tent upgrade.
Woodacre is situated within minutes of many beautiful natural vistas. Escape to West Marin or jump on highway 1 and head up the California coast. If you want to stay in the neighborhood, Spirit Rock meditation center is just across Sir Francis Drake blvd. Come relax!
  • My husband and I rented the teardrop from Alex and Jesse for a night in out. They included supplies to make a fire and a lovely picnic basket with wine. They suggested a campsite for us and we tried it out and had a great time. The teardrop itself has a cozy interior with lights, plugs, and everything you'd need for a comfortable venture into nature. 10/10!

    Michaela and John2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse and Alex were awesome to coordinate with. They were easy to communicate with and made it a very seamless process. They supplied a hitch receiver and gave great instructions on how to hook up and tow the trailer. The tear drop is full of character and charm and was very easy to handle. The bed is amazingly cozy and kept us nice and warm for our December camping. We would rent the trailer again anytime.

    Haley2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Took the teardrop to a bluegrass music festival, and it was perfect. Got so many compliments on how cute and compact it is — everyone was jealous! It was convenient to have everything I needed right there, and provided me with a nice amount of privacy and comfort. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it!

    Andrew2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very flexible and accomadating!

  • I hesitate to use the word magical, but this little teardrop definitely qualifies. I took my SO out to the coast and we spent an amazing night parked just off the beach. The waves rocked us to sleep and we woke up to a beautiful sunrise. The teardrop was clean and so cozy, and we loved all the little touches - a bottle of wine and a stocked picnic basket were included in the adorable little galley. Amazing stay! I’ll definitely be back.

    Dom2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • From the cozy sleeping space to the "galley" stocked with a camping stove, sink and utensils, this quaint trailer was outfitted with everything we needed for an overnight camping trip to Samuel P. Taylor Park. Jesse and Alex were great hosts. They were always available and quickly answered all of our questions. They included a basket of goodies in the trailer and some recommendations for Point Reyes Station :) Make sure you get working on the towing and insurance requirements right when you book. Our insurance was slow in reviewing and providing the needed documentation. Jesse and Alex were flexible and helpful in this too.

  • Beautiful private cottage with a quiet and secluded vibe while at the same time being very close to Olema restaurants (walking) and Point Reyes Station (5 minute drive). Kelly was very responsive and check-in was a breeze. Cottage is in fantastic condition

  • Kelly and Bruce were the best of hosts! Kelly was on the spot to help us out with a special request and Bruce spent time talking about the many amazing artists they've connected with, the sculptures exhibited around the grounds & artwork in the cabins. Berry Vine was a bright, cherry and delightfully homey and spacious place with comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen, abundant and quality linens and towels. And the artwork created an atmosphere of delight and wisdom. We will certainly be back.

    Jon2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly’s cabin was very clean, quiet, and cozy—a great launch pad for nature appreciation. After a full day of activities, we chose a classic from the movie library before falling asleep on the comfy bed. Recommended!

    Bridget2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location. Cozy and private, feels like you're in the woods but close to restaurants and other outings.

    ANNA2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was the perfect getaway for a reunion of four high school friends. The location, very close to Point Reyes, was a perfect spot from which to visit the local beach and take long hikes. And the compact kitchen was perfectly outfitted to allow us to make dinner in and enjoy a night of laughter and good food. There is also a restaurant and bar across the street, in case you prefer to eat out or grab a drink after dinner, as we did. The bedding was comfy and cozy, and if it had been cooler, the indoor stove would have been a great amenity to use. Kelly was responsive and helpful, with quick answers to emails and close enough to come by in case we needed anything. Even though it was only an hour north of San Francisco, we felt like we were a world away. We will definitely be back!

    Kindra2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly's berry vine cottage is a perfect refuge from the wild chilly adventures of The Point. Anyone who stays there will find an artful, cozy space where great attention is paid to the smallest details. The location is great, a two minute walk to provisions at the deli and great eats at The Olema Farm House. The Bovine Bakery in Point Reyes Station was one of the best bakeries I have been to. The cottage was exceptionally clean and we had privacy at all times. We will gladly return to the Berry Vine Cottage.

We are located in Marin County in the forested, tranquil San Geronimo Valley, surrounded by rolling hills, douglas fir, oak and bay trees. There are excellent hiking & biking trails, golf and restaurants within walking distance or short drive. This park is a mystical place … children & adults can walk right into the hallowed out base of some giant redwood trees. Plan a picnic ... the kids love playing in the creek. The many beaches near us offer adults and kids great joy! The village of Stinson Beach, has a spectacular beach and the quaint town features good restaurants, art galleries, surf shop, etc. Point Reyes National Seashore is about 15 minutes from our Lagunitas home. Nearby Tomales Bay features “Blue Waters Kayaking”, a full service kayaking outfitter. Local Restaurants & Deli: Lagunitas Grocery & Deli is just at the bottom of our hill. It features home cooked deli items and excellent breakfasts. “Arti Restaurant", also just at the bottom of our hill, features organic Indian fare and gets RAVE reviews. "Two Bird Cafe at the Valley Inn", about a mile away, has very fine American food. The locals love it for casual breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a charming outdoor dining deck. In season, they serve fresh oysters. The town of Fairfax is about 15 minutes away ... LOTS of great live music, movie theater, restaurants, bakeries, ice cream and coffee shops. The village of Nicasio, about 10-15 minutes away, features the "Rancho Nicasio” restaurant, an old fashioned saloon type of building. Robert Redford has been known to drop in there when he is visiting George Lucas down the road. The "Rancho" has lunches, dinners and music in the evenings ... on the weekends they host live lawn concerts with BBQ food ... makes for a GREAT day! Lots of fresh, organic, local food, cheeses and organic markets ... no shortage of gluten free offerings. There are glorious hiking & biking trails right from our driveway ... do a search and all of them will pop up. We're also happy to give you ideas when you arrive.

  • Beautiful place! We had a lovely stay and the space was very nice and clean. Amazing garden as well. Definitely recommend it!

    Sarah2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time there - warm welcome from Geraldine, beautiful peaceful garden (where we had our morning coffee), fresh flowers, comfortable room, and more. And, to be met with a cold bottle of delicious white wine after a long hard hike - doesn't get better than that! A great location for our day hikes in Pt. Reyes. Will definitely return.

    Ilana2014-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to stay for a little weekend getaway with my boyfriend and the dog. Geraldine is very accommodating and friendly, she also gave a good recommendation for nature walk in the redwoods nearby. The property is beautiful, it has amazing forest views and a cozy interior. On our three night stay we did a good mix of exploring the small towns in the area as well as driving into the city to visit San Francisco. I loved our trip and I'm so glad we decided to stay up in Lagunitas instead of directly in the city, it was worth the 45min drive to SF! Our favorite spots to eat were in a cute little area just 15 mins away in Fairfax that had great coffee shops and local art shops. Otis, our French bulldog also enjoyed the stay at Geraldine's and we are so glad we could bring him on this trip. I recommend arriving before dark or asking for directions ahead of time, as we arrived late at night and the road up the hill to the property was tough to navigate for the first time in the dark. Still a five star rating and would recommend to anyone!

    Lindsey2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The room is very nice - well kept, attractive and comfortable. The house is situated on top of a hill, and was a bit hard to find at first, but if you just keep going and follow the directions, you will get there. The gardens behind the house (right outside the door to the room) are beautiful and a great place to sit and relax. We did not meet Joe, but Geraldine was friendly and welcoming when we arrived, and had a bottle of wine waiting for us, as well as an electric kettle and various teas in the room.

    Kristin2014-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This rental home is outstanding. Not only is it beautiful with a gorgeous design aesthetic, it is comfy and inviting as well. Best mattresses in the world! Soft bedding and plush towels, well appointed and enjoyable kitchen to cook in, and views all around. Its so well hidden its like living in the woods, but open enough to feel expansive. I cant say enough about the hosts Geraldine and Joe Walsh. From the first exchange, Geraldine was welcoming and eager to make us happy and comfortable. They are lovely people with a lovely home which we were lucky enough to live in while visiting the San Francisco area for a wedding. We will come back.

    Kate 2015-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Up a surprisingly steep, winding road is a little sanctuary where Joe and Geraldine have their home. I can't say enough about how much we loved our time here. My husband and I along with our 8 and 9 year old sons were treated like family, but with as much privacy and space as we desired. The highlight for me was the breathtaking gardens creating a persistent aroma of honeysuckle indoors and outdoors along with all the special touches in our rooms - fresh cut flowers, a bottle of wine, healthy snacks, coffee, etc. The highlight for our kids was the putting green. They also enjoyed the pool and Geraldine's impromptu offer to heat up the hot tub for us one morning. Our rooms were immaculate and there was plenty of space for us. We would love to stay here again and again.

    Agrestic2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Geraldine was absolutely delightful and her place was wonderful. The amount of work she has done to her property is amazing -- the grounds are flawlessly landscaped, there is a putting green and sand trap, and there was a pool and hot tub. There are also motion lights everywhere which enables walking around even after dark. Both rooms were spacious and comfortable, and they generously left us a bottle of wine in the fridge. The house is in the wilderness and we felt very much in a private sanctuary, the scenery was also awe-inspiring. We basically could not have asked for more.
