The place is very close to the bay and hwy 101. It was easy to find. Steve was very communicative prior to our arrival and wanted to make sure we were able to find the place.

Steve is a terrific host! His home is very clean and quiet! Sunny and bright during our visit! The breakfast goodies were an added bonus! Great stop in Newport!

This was our first experience with Airbnb, and it was very positive. Steve is a wonderful host, going out of his way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. He was always available to answer all of our questions, giving us restaurant recommendations, etc., and other information about the area. It was a wonderful weekend, and far exceeded our expectations!

Steve was a great host! We had been hiking earlier in the day and he was very accommodating with our changing arrival time. Communication was always prompt and clear. The room was as expected- bed was comfy, lots of outlets to charge devices which was appreciated. We slept with the window opened and enjoyed hearing the sea lions, but we could have closed it and not heard anything. House was clean and Steve was nice enough to offer up suggestions of food and sights to take in. Walking distance to the bay front, but we drove and found plenty of parking. All in all a great experience!

I enjoyed my short stay at the Dreamy Day stay- Bay Room. The room is clean, quiet and has nice view of the Newport Bay Bridge. Very comfortable bed, too. Steve is a great host. We had a great short overnight stay with Steve. After his yummy dinner recommendation we slept like babies. We also enjoyed the relaxed breakfast with him and another guest the next morning. We definitely recommend Steve as a host!

Vince's home is within view of Agate Beach (only one house lies between his and the beach). He's a friendly interesting host. He helped us with trip planning which was much appreciated. The space upstairs where the bedroom, sitting area and half bath are was cozy and had a great view of the ocean.

Vince was fantastic - very accommodating, communicative, and informative, and his place worked out great for us. You have the whole second floor to yourselves, and for our purposes (going to the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival, and sight seeing) it was ideal.

My stay at Vince's place was very relaxing and I felt like all of my needs were met. Vince is an excellent host, very hospitable and knowledgeable. I would certainly stay at this spot again. One of the many highlights was definitely the bagel and egg breakfast sandwich he fixed up for me early in the morning on my way out for the day. A+

For those interested in meeting new people traveling from all over the country if not world, this is the place. But for those of you interested in booking this place for a family retreat it is also your place. It is clean, economically priced, welcoming, comfortable and oh so groovy (and I say that in the most respectful ways). Benito is the real thing - warm, friendly and deeply interested in the people who stay here. I felt safe and welcomed and will definitely return. I am a single older woman traveling alone and never did I worry about my well being or safety. So wonderful. Oh, and there are three rooms to hang in. The sleeping area, a lovely comfortable living room (with fireplace and big screen) and a great kitchen that looks out on the backyard chickens and duck. I really can't say enough about it. A find for sure.

If your passing through town and want to have a memorable time and meet people, this is the place to be. If there is vacancy, always go here first!

This was the coolest place ever! Benito is so laid back and helpful and kind. He responded to my texts almost instantly and was extremely accommodating for a special circumstance I needed. He welcomed me when I arrived and showed me around. The place is beautiful, comfortable, very spacious, and has so many great extra amenities including a piano and Netflix. The bed was comfortable, everything was really clean, and I loved that food was available for me to have for breakfast. If you are considering staying here, do it! You won't regret it.

Oh man! Where do I begin? From start to finish the Lost Buoy Hostel was such a wonderful experience. Benito was an exceptional host and made me feel immediately welcome. He had great recommendations for places to eat and socialize. This is the perfect place to stay if you are traveling alone or in a small group. The kitchen was spacious and the beds were comfy and warm. I even had a bit of separation anxiety as I left the hostel. It felt like I was leaving my own home. I can't wait to return and am actually planning on doing so when I head back home to San Diego in a few days. See you again soon Newport!

The host couple were very friendly and welcoming. The quarters are clean and attractive and only a couple of blocks from wide sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean.

Our stay at Bens hostel was great! The place was in a good location with lots of restaurant and things to do nearby. The place was super clean and offered breakfast. We were just passing through so we only stayed for a night but I wish we could have stayed longer. I wouldn't change a thing about this Airbnb or it's host. Love ya Ben!

Benito was great about communicating with me the day of my arrival to give me instructions since he wasn't going to be able to be there at the time of my arrival. He was very good about following up. I also, last minute, decided to bring another person and he was very good at accommodating both of us. His place is located really close to the main area of town and it was easy to find. The kitchen is stocked with eggs, coffee, bread, fruit, which was a great plus. The hangout area is very inviting, and visually appealing with lots of great eclectic art, plants, posters. We felt very comfortable. Will definitely recommend and stay here again! Thank you Benito!!

Premium hostel! Environment is warm and aesthetically pleasant. A provided breakfast and washer/dryer is the extra mile. Great value, would recommend to anyone visiting Newport.

Richard & Kay were amazing hosts - kind, hospitable and full of great local tips. We loved our stay with them and highly recommend their peaceful spot! Even though we were in the heart of Newport, we felt miles away with the seclusion, beautiful view and easy State Park and beach access. The spot had everything we needed and all the extra touches. It was a perfect costal getaway for us and our little 6 monther. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning!

Kay unfortunately wasn't home for our stay at the Jetty Gem, but Richard was absolutely fantastic. He was accommodating, quick to respond to any of our questions, gave us wonderful recommendations, full access to their BEAUTIFUL garden (that was full of veggies to harvest: artichokes, bok choy, lettuces, herbs, etc.) and beach going equipment. We only wish would could have stayed longer. Our to do list didn't quite get completed and we could have used three more days. In any case back to the Jetty Gem. We showed up to a fantastic gift basket with wine and snacks and a card (I hope I'm not spoiling too much, but it really touched our hearts). Also, you couldn't ask for a better location in Newport. Walking distance from the historic Bay area, the bridge, and the Highway 101 'downtown.' The historic Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is just a stones throw away with beach access. We pretty much walked everywhere, so, if barhopping is your thing *cough* this location couldn't be better. Honestly, the pictures provided for the Jetty Gem don't do it enough justice. Kay and Richards house is beautiful, which, unfortunately, isn't translated. The apartment is perfect for two, with a kitchen, bath, bedroom and living space. The TV is fully equipped with Netflix and iHeartRadio for all your multimedia entertainment needs, but there's so much to do outside our guess is you won't need it much. Surfing is also nearby, just a short jaunt up the 101 to Agate Beach. The surf shop Ossies is right there too for all your rental needs. We would totally recommend staying here as the value is excellent, especially for all the amenities you get in the deal. Richard and I (Justin) also shared many interests and so we got a chance to talk about books and our pasts. I really hope we have a chance to come back to Newport for another stay. If we do the Jetty Gem is on top of our list for a place to stay. It's really that great.

Hosts Kay and Richard were wonderful to us, welcoming in every way. The apt. was perfect for us, just right for two. The amenities were numerous, lovely and all with great care. Everything was artful and in great taste! They were available for advice about activities in the area, which we appreciated. The folding chairs to take to the ocean, were perfect! The location was perfect, quiet, private, and a view of the ocean. It was my birthday while there, Kay gave me flowers and a lovely card. We will return to stay with them again, next time for a much longer stay. Thank you Kay and Richard for your hospitality!

We loved the Jetty Gem. It's got such a beautiful view of the ocean and a cozy interior that it makes even the routine act of cuddling on the couch to watch tv feel novel and special. And Kay and Richard really went above and beyond for our anniversary. Everywhere there were fresh cut flowers, a basket of snacks and wine upon arrival, a bookmark featuring romantic art on one side and a sweet handwritten note on the other, and grapes crackers and cheese in the fridge. They have us great restaurant recommendations -- we loved the Local Ocean. We will absolutely stay here again if we make it back to Newport.

We had a great time staying at the Jetty Gem. Richard and Kay have a wonderful home located super close to the beach and a great view of the ocean! We arrived to a welcome basket and card. Little details like that make such a huge difference. Also Richard was also there to promptly answer any questions. It was nice that they had crabbing equipment since that was one of the things we wanted to do while we were in Newport. Overall we would totally stay there again and recommend the Jetty Gem to our friends and family.

Great location! Perfect for viewing the stormy Oregon coastline. Enjoyed the Nye Beach area immensely with it's shopping and restaurants. Condo was warm and inviting with all the necessary accessories available at hand. Only thing subpar was the queen (URL HIDDEN) support and has difficulty with comfort. Overall, would definitely stay here again when visiting Newport and the surrounding areas.

Staying a night at the Beachcomber was far more than expected. The view is absolutely incredible and Nye Beach is a really cool part of town with many small shops, restaurants and areas to hang out. It really felt like a beach vacation. The condo was clean and well put together. We could not have asked for more and they even helped us to get in easily when I had lost the first welcome information sheet. Awesome place!

The beachcomber is a great place. Very affordable compared to other similar options I was considering. Very clean and cozy despite the building being a bit older. The location and view right in the center of NYE beach was perfect for our weekend. Thanks!

This place was perfect. I really enjoyed their check-in system and was glad I didn't have to coordinate an exact time. Place is MUCH bigger than it looks in the pictures. You can't help but feel right at home with the kites in the closet, the waves so close and all of the beach activity at a comfortable distance down below. One of my favorite Airbnb's ever.

Roy and Cristina were so welcoming and kind! Their home is full of flowers and greenery, and their three cars are friendly and playful. The location was perfect, just outside of Newport. Would definitely stay with them again!

Not only did I have a great Airbnb experience, I got to know a bit about a hidden Oregon gem, Toledo. Cristina and Roy were welcoming and warm, with generosity of spirit and use of their home. There are so many great Airbnb experiences that I haven't been a repeat visitor, but I hope their home is available the next time I work or play in their part of the world. And then there's the apple crisp and peach pie. And the cats. And the solarium. And the backyard. And the travel conversations. I left feeling like I have new friends. Had I chosen to have a more reclusive stay, that would have worked as well.

While it's a 20-minute drive from the actual coast, Roy and Cristina are fantastic hosts and the room is incredibly comfortable. It's on a separate floor and feels much more private than you'd expect for a shared room. As noted by everyone else, they were fantastic with tips and helpful answering all our questions. Highest recommendation!

Roy and Christina are gracious hosts and they have a lovely home. They invited me to dine with them. They were engaging conversationalists. We got along famously and I have already booked with them for my next business trip.

Great cottage with spectacular view!

Absolutely perfect experience. My husband and I were so comfy and happy here. I am a painter and I was so inspired by the views, I painted five watercolors! We will be back! This gem felt like home from the second we arrived. I have never slept better. Do try Local Oceans as Louis suggested. We ate there three times.

This was a great place to stay. My wife and I enjoyed the privacy that this cottage offered and the views are second to none. The cottage is more stunning than pictured and is very welcoming. The ocean views are phenomenal and beach access is a very short walk from the front door. If you are considering booking this cottage, I would definitely recommend it!

Absolutely beautiful. Secluded, spotless, and an incredible view. The pictures are amazing and it's even better in real life. Louis was great and gave us good restaurant suggestions. We had one sunny, beautiful day and sat out on the deck soaking up the sunshine.

This is such a great property. Super private, central location, amazing views, it has it all. The host was friendly and helpful with local restaurant tips. My wife and I were so happy with our stay and got the R&R we were looking for. Five stars from us! Hope we get to go back!!!

I'd love to tell everyone to stay away from this listing so that it's always available for us to stay at, but I just can't; this place is AMAZING! The views are incredible, it's tucked away so that it gives you a great feeling of privacy, and the cottage offers everything you'd need for a getaway (Fireplace, balcony, TV, internet, fridge/freezer, dining table, comfy couch, board games and a nearby walkway to the beach). Louis met us at the Cottage and gave us some insider tips on the area (restaurants, attractions, and sites) which were spot on. We loved spending/ending our honeymoon here and can't wait to come back for a future anniversary!

This cottage was absolutely stunning and my girlfriend and I were beyond satisfied with our experience. The location is just a short drive to town yet still maintains an unexpected feeling of seclusion and privacy. The beach is also just a short walk away, which we gladly took advantage of as well. We certainly plan on coming back again!

All the way through the reservation process, Wallace was prompt and clear, friendly and welcoming. Wallace is kind, open and conversational. He cares about his guests and tries to make things easy and comfortable. The first drive into his land is best done in daylight, as there are forks in the road and gates and signs caped in moss and puddles to avoid, a beautiful sinuous way to transition from the highway and city bustle to the deep peace of his gracious property. His home's placement above the slough, nestled in trees, facing the eastern sky is exquisite. Accommodations were comfortable, he kept the house warm with a woodstove (though each room also has a heater,) and he allowed me to use his kitchen however I wanted. The decor in this authentic lived-in home reflects his love of books, learning, culture and art. It was a pleasure to chat with him over morning coffee and evening bowls of food, and to walk the marsh one sunny morning with our binoculars and our mutual appreciation of Nature. He knows lots about the land, the animals and kayaking on his slough. All in all, a wonderful domiciliary and host choice for my retreat. I will go back. Thanks Wallace!

I loved my time at Wallace' place! The space was comfortable, the scenery gorgeous and conversation with Wallace was a pleasure. Directions to the house were thorough, easy to follow and I had no problem finding the home and traveling the roads in my Volvo S40. Writing in the space was peaceful and I spent the day kayaking up the slough- right from the banks of the house. A lovely visit and I will return. Thanks, Wallace!

If you want quiet seclusion and interesting company, this is it! Simple furnishings but all that we needed, minus a coffee pot. Do bring your own if a french press won't suffice for you. Air bed was actually very comfortable but noisy to move on if that bothers you. Plenty of on demand hot water for shower. Love the wood stove just like home! Beautiful view, deck when it's not cold and rainy. Dock for easy access to slough and a few minutes paddle to the bay. Can paddle up the slough quite a ways. It is quiet out here. Loved It! The road in is gravel and about 15 to 20 minutes in off the highway so bring your food and a cooler if u r staying a few days. Your car will be muddy just so you know. This place is why I love airbnb. Kayaker's delight! Also, Wallace is so fascinating and had so many experiences you will thoroughly enjoy his company and vast array of knowledge.

This home is tucked deep in the raw beauty of nature. Waking up to the breath taking view of the slough was such a treat. Wallace has an easy going and welcoming atmosphere in his home. It was a genuine pleasure to get to spend time talking story with him. We would love to come visit his little slice of paradise again.

Wallace made me feel very welcome. He was a warm and considerate host, providing good directions and greeting me upon my arrival. I appreciated my conversations with him as he is a well traveled and interesting person. I also especially appreciated his willingness to allow me the use of his kayak on the slough during my stay. The accomodations are comfortable and the setting beautiful and peaceful. His place is a little out-of-the way and somewhat hard to find, so I would encourage travelers to arrive before dark at least on the first night of your stay. There is much to do and see in the Newport area, so coming back to the peace and solitude of Wallace's place is a good balance. I enjoyed my stay very much, and encourage others who may be looking for a different vacation experience in a nature oriented environment to consider Wallace's place a close look.
