“Also in an old converted church (and just around the corner) you can give rope rock climbing a go. If you prefer to climb without ropes, there's a sister bouldering centre called Alien Bloc in the Canonmills area of Edinburgh.”

“Chef Stuart Thrumble has created dishes using fantastic local, seasonal produce, with superbly matched wines. Our aim is to show off Scottish produce at its very best. Our gorgeous lunch dishes and our delicious dinner menu change almost daily, depending on what the market has that morning. Sample menus are below. Currently, we are offering a 2 course lunch for £15.00 from 12 – 2pm, and a 2 course dinner for £25. You can also check out our special menus on our Events page. Children over 5 years old are welcome, we don’t have a kids menu but are happy to do smaller portions.”

Climbing Gym
“Climbing wall constructed in a vaulted church building, this is a cool activity if you are looking for something outside of the typical tourist sights. You can purchase a day entry pass. Hire equipment is also available. There are two venues, 'alien 1' is primarily for roped climbing both top-roping and leading; 'alien 2' is a dedicated bouldering centre nearby where the climbing is done over soft, 'crash' matting. Alien 2 is located at 37 W Bowling Green St, EH6 5NX.”

Fish & Chips Shop
$
“Ok so Chef Tom Kerridge came to Edinburgh and chose The Fishmarket as the best fish and chips in the UK!!?? A partnership with a Michelin star chef and the key fishmonger to all the top restaurants - he might have a point. Unfortunately since he made this statement on national TV the queues have been out the door and it's not unheard of to wait 2 hours (although it's worth it!). My suggestion would be hire one of the Just Eat bikes on the corner of Henderson Row/Dundas Street and take the bicycle path down to Newhaven and enjoy your Scampi/Lobster/Fish supper on the pier. You will find the start of the cycle path just on Eyre Place and it will take you 15/20 minutes and a straight direction to reach The Fishmarket.”
