The cabin is a great place to escape from it all! The custom made cedar hot tub is hot and ready all winter. Cold, snowy nights make for excellent tub time!! Inside the cabin is warm and has the comfort of home. Want to ski? Two ski resorts are 30 minutes from us.
Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin (16' by 12', 190 sq ft) is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging. Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees. One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck. Our other amenities and services are as follows: Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request. Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup and instant hot cereal included Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests. The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year. Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request. As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugarhouses, breweries, and farms well. P.S. It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.
  • The treehouse cabin was as perfect as all of the other airbnb reviews said! Andrew was kind and helpful, the cabin is in a beautiful location, and I loved how cozy and at home I felt tucked away in the trees. Even though it may seem like a small detail, the waffles may have been my favorite part. My partner and I hope to visit the cabin again soon.

  • As expected based on our last visit to the tree cabin, it was an amazing stay! The place is so cozy, clean and inviting and the hot tub is delicious after a long day in the snow. Andrew and Marylou pay attention to the details, making sure all the fixens are there for a wonderful waffle breakfast, as well as having all the amenities that you could need for relaxing stay. We love staying there and highly recommend it to anyone!

  • Had a great time at the Tree Cabin! It was a great place to our 12th wedding anniversary. Very romantic setting. Sitting on the deck watching the sunset was awesome. We arrived a little later than expected and Andrew was very cool about it. It's a bit of a climb to the house so if you have a lot of luggage and are out of shape like me be warned! Well worth the climb though. We would love to go back sometime.

  • wonderful place, great locale, friendly hosts, great views!

    Derek2012-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Marilou were fantastic hosts. Friendly and mindful of privacy but at the same time very willing to chat and provide info for things to do in the area. The cabin is exactly as it's advertised. It's very clean, in a great setting and has everything you would want for a cozy couple of days away. The hot tub is so awesome, everything you need to prepare most meals is available, the bed is comfortable and the cabin is close to several different ski and hike destinations. I honestly have not one negative thing to say, I've already suggested this listing to several friends and we would absolutely consider a stay here again.

    Jason2015-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time at the cabin. Andrew was extremely welcoming and answered all of our questions about the surrounding area. Grabbed groceries at the market at the bottom of the hill. The grill worked great. Went in the hot tub three times and it was refreshing and relieving. The cabin is an amazing craft. Everything from the countertops to the structure was very well built.

    Dan2015-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and marilou where great, very welcoming, and respected privacy. Left some groceries such as eggs and milk in the fridge which was much appreciated

After living in San Francisco for many years, I purchased this stunning and peaceful cabin on 11 private acres in my Vermont hometown. I travel quite a lot for work and am eager to share the incredible feeling that these walls and mountains evoke with others in need. Folks of all backgrounds -expect those that include racism, homo/transphobia, xenophobia, etc- are welcome in my home! I especially encourage other queer folks to come and stay -this area is a warm and welcoming place.
Mobility notice: my driveway is rather steep, and as the cabin was intended as a seasonal home, the only entrance is through the basement with a set of stairs leading up to the main living area.

This log cabin is set in the woods of rural northeast Vermont. Get away from the hustle and bustle, clear your mind, and enjoy nature. Located between the Green Mountains of VT and the White Mountains of NH, it is a good place to to get some fresh air or to stay in and take a nap. Beautiful summers for hiking, unbelievable foliage to view from small dirt roads, and tons of outdoor winter activities. Great for a couples getaway, a friends weekend, or to spend some quality time with the kids.
This secluded log cabin is located on a dirt road in the woods on the outskirts of a very small Vermont town. Your hosts live in the house about a one or two minute walk up the hill from the log cabin. The two houses are separated by woods, so besides the shared driveway that passes in front of the cabin, the cabin has complete privacy. This is a modern cabin in almost every way. It has electricity, great insulation, central heat (in addition to an effective wood stove), microwave, full gas stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, a full bathroom, a washer and dryer, a land-line telephone, and wifi. But we want to stress that this is a place to disconnect. Literally. You might get one bar of cell phone service. The cabin does not have TV or computers. You are a ten minute drive from Groton State Forest (hiking trails, ponds, lakes, etc: (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) You are right in between the Green Mountains and the White Mountains (about an hour from White Mountain State Park and an hour from Camel's Hump, Mt. Mansfield etc). You are 1 hour and 30 minutes from Burlington and Lake Champlain, with some of the most scenic roads and towns in between. A right turn out of the driveway and there are miles and miles of beautiful back roads that glow with reds, oranges and yellows during fall foliage. Old farm houses, country general stores with local goods, apples, syrup, and more. The log cabin is located in the town of Groton, which while incredibly small and humble is still known for it's Chicken Pot Pie Supper during it's Fall Foliage Festival. In the winter, you will be 45 minutes from the smaller ski mountains Burke Mountain and Bolton Valley, and 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes from bigger ski resorts in all directions (Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay Peak, Loon Mountain, Bretton Woods, Sunapee, and more!). If back woods cross country skiing or snowshoeing is more your speed, there are picturesque old farm fields and backwoods trails within walking distance or a few minutes drive. Your hosts will be more than happy to offer advice, suggestions, and directions to personalize your experience and get you off the beaten path. And, if all you need is a place to rest and relax we have that too. It's a great place to do nothing at all. You won't hear a thing at night and only a logging truck or two during the day. You can go outside on clear nights and see a sky full of stars. It's a great place to write, do yoga, nap, cuddle, sit around for hours and talk with your loved ones, or just be :)
You are in the middle of the woods. The road that the property is located on is a dirt road that is great for walks at all times of the year, night or day. There are houses every half a mile or so interspersed with woods and old farm land.
  • Both Emily and her lovely cottage get perfect 10s. The cottage sits in a parklike setting, and the beautiful green grass and trees are visible through all of the charming paned windows that fill the space with light and color. Quiet beauty predominates, and at night the peepers in a nearby pond sing and sing~ such a wonderful musical performance by which to fall asleep. It rained during my two day stay, but the cottage was so warm and comfortable that it was a pleasure to be indoors. Communication with Emily prior to arrival was seamless, and she is great fun in person. Airbnb knocked another one out of the park with this listing.

    Susan2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic! Location is private and perfect for a quite retreat but also close enough to explore Montpelier and beyond. We couldn't believe how reasonably priced it was and how nice the cabin itself was kept. Everything was perfect and we had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. Emily was very helpful sending out directions ahead of time anticipating a lack of cell service (and therefore gps) and we had no trouble finding the place.

    Matthew2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at the cabin! Everything is as pictured and Emily was wonderful. The surrounding area is beautiful and our dogs loved playing in the yard.

    Greta2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and Patty's cabin is as beautiful as it is comfortable. Emily communicated everything we needed to know for a weekend and even provided tips on how to best plan our trip. Groton is definitely a rural area but that's just what we were looking for. We arrived to the cabin open and lights on, everything was spotless and neat. The kitchen was well stocked to cook-in which is what we did for the most part. The owners incredible dogs Winston and Maggie greeted us first thing in the morning and their company was more than welcome playing fetch, sitting by the wood stove, and walking through the woods. Patty stopped by to greet us and check in one night and was very kind. The wood stove was great but there's forced hot air heat as well, the Wi-Fi works just fine, and the bathroom is spacious. If you're looking for a quiet retreat in the woods, without roughing it, this is the place for you.

    Peter2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • A clean and cozy cabin, equipped with all the necessary materials, and then some. The pet friendly environment was perfect for us, and having snowshoes and VT attraction information was a fun and useful touch. We'll be back again for sure!

    Travis 2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's cabin was great! Its a nice large space with updated kitchen with everything you need to cook. The cabin is very clean and on a beautiful piece of land. It was not hard to find off the high way and we had a great time hiking and exploring the surrounding towns. Can't wait to stay here again!

    Micayla2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • "We want to go back to the cabin!" is what my girlfriend and I have been saying to each other every day since we left here. This cabin is absolutely beautiful and lovely - the photo's cannot do it justice! It has everything you would want and need for your getaway. The cabin is perfect for relaxing, reading, sitting by the fire and looking out over the beautiful yard through an expertly designed row of windows. Emily and her parents are wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome during our stay. (As did their two super friendly golden retrievers Winston and Maggie, who, on occasion, we found wandering through the yard.) No matter the season, no matter the weather, you will have wonderful stay at this place and leave feeling revitalized and, in our case, homesick for this beautiful cabin.

    Neil2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Emily's cabin is incredibly clean, larger than it looks in the photos, super quiet and in a lovely Vermont setting. We had a great time and felt really comfortable as the cabin was more than well stocked with everything we needed. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend to anyone looking for a little time away from reality!! Thank you, Emily!

  • The house is situated in a beautiful place along the river. We had everything we needed. There is not much going on in Ryegate, but there are lots of other cute towns to see. The views by the river are spectacular.

    Jill2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, peaceful setting. We had a wonderful family holiday! Keita was very thoughtful and made us feel welcome in every way.

    Lisa2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing little Shangri-La Keita's home and grounds are. She clearly takes great pride and joy in what she has created right on the Connecticut river. The little sandy beach and swimming hole were an added feature for sure. We appreciated how inviting the inside was with so many windows to take in the calming views. The fresh flowers and breakfast stocked refrigerator were wonderful and she even treated us to one of her's speciality home cooked breakfasts, banana pancakes with blueberry maple syrup. I would visit there in a heart beat.

    Terri Beth2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Keita was a wonderful host, very welcoming and sweet. We loved looking at her original paintings and it was so lovely that she let us walk around her beautiful property. We would love to come back in the summer and take advantage of the swimming vortex and kayaks.

  • The cabin was cozy and comfortable. It was squeaky clean and had everything we needed. Moriah and her family were great hosts. Such a peaceful and beautiful spot, can't wait to come back!

    Barbara2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful spot to have a peaceful and relaxing vacation. There is nothing more peaceful than sitting on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee listening to and watching the loons. The cabin was clean and secluded - we could choose whether or not to interact with other guests of the campground which offered family activities at their pavilion. Moriah as a host was responsive and helpful but not intrusive. We would stay there again.

    Sarah2017-08-20T00:00:00Z

Remodeled 1900's Cider Mill is now a charming, rustic cottage. Easy access with a distant feel. Hear the soothing sounds of the Tabor Branch River out the back window. Settled in the quaint village of East Topsham, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time for a while. Open, airy rooms and living space, full kitchen. Farmhouse breakfast available, served right to your door. Come next door to Milk Thistle Farm and visit our herd of milking goats, chickens and geese.
There are stairs leading to living areas upstairs. This used to be where apples were brought to be processed into cider. The name Oat Straw Mill was the original name because they used clean oat straw to filter the pomace from the apple cider. There was also a blacksmith shop, which is no longer standing, on the east side of the mill. The water still runs under the mill and one turbine is left from the old works.
Topsham Vermont (population 1173) is in the self proclaimed "Highlands" of Vermont. Not technically a place, but we're not Central, not Northeast Kingdom, not Upper Valley and not New Hampshire. This area is characterized by groups of small villages and townships of folks who like to live rural and enjoy being outdoors. You won't find strip malls, high rises or even cell service in most spots. Its a place to be refreshed and unwind.
  • This is the ideal, off-the-beaten path getaway!! In the cold weather it is cozy and peaceful and in the warm weather it's relaxing, cooling, and tranquil. The sound of the river at night, cool evenings, and sunny mornings are just what we needed to rest and recharge. The house is equipped with unplugged entertainment options (games, records, a fire pit) and equipped with a kitchen that has everything one needs and the most comfortable beds. Close to lots of hiking, small towns to explore, breweries, the Cabot factory-- so much to see and do!! This was my second stay with these wonderful hosts and if I could I'd go back every season :).

  • We had a wonderful time here! Catherine is warm and hospitable. The accommodations are lovely and comfortable, with plenty of space. The balcony overlooking the river and the upper room were perfect to lounge in and read. It is gorgeous. I highly recommend this place!

  • Catherine and Bradley were wonderful hosts! They were so welcoming and the Cider Mill is such a gorgeous space. We loved the openness of the upstairs area and the porch overlooking the river. The sound of the river was one of our favorite things; it was the perfect volume of white noise to fall asleep to!

    Maya2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a magnificent experience at Catherine's house. It's so calming waking up to the sound of water by your window. Her chickens were so much fun to watchas well, jumping at the bushes for raspberries. I couldn't get enough of those chickens! We look forward to visiting soon next spring! Thank you!

    Nereida2017-10-14T00:00:00Z

The river at the back of the house was so peaceful and great for paddling and exploring. Catherine and Bradley were perfect hosts and made our stay really enjoyable. We will definitely come back here in the future and we would highly recommend it to fellow travellers. Catherine's breakfasts are fantastic too and really made our stay more enjoyable.

We were delighted to find everything that we needed, from cleaning supplies to spices to charcoal and firewood. Jesse was very accommodating in letting us check in a bit earlier and check out a bit later if needed, and he was extremely responsive to all of our questions that we had before the trip. Super cozy bedrooms, and a great "country cabin" feel!

  • Very nice house. The host was very friendly and accommodating. She gave me a nice tour of the house and the property; saw a few turkeys. Room was very large and had a very comfortable bed. Host made waffles for breakfast with syrup; very tasty.

  • Nancy was a perfect host from our arrival on late-Thursday afternoon through our departure on Sunday morning. Upon arrival Nancy gave us a tour of the house and showed us around the property grounds (beautiful woods behind the house). She offered to make us waffles and coffee for breakfast the following morning- a wonderful start to a full day of hiking in the White Mountains. To our delight, we were greeted with waffles and coffee every morning of our stay! We very much enjoyed conversations with Nancy, and hope to stay with her again in the future.

  • This is a large, lovely, very private and clean 2nd story bedroom and large bathroom - all decorated in bright bold colors. Nancy, too, is bright, bold and colorful - wonderfully generous and energetic! She welcomes you completely into her home. When we were there, she was canning a kitchen full of tomatoes and making it look easy! The location is very rural and scenic, with commanding views of New Hampshire mountains, and easy access to Vermont's charming towns and countryside. We enjoyed her homemade waffles with Vermont maple syrup for breakfast, and she was great about serving us early to meet our departure schedule.

  • What a wonderful host! Nancy welcomed us with hot tea and homemade cake, the next morning she made us waffles with local Vermont maple syrup. The place is beautiful, quiet, clean, with a spectacular view, there's nothing better than walking around the lawn and woods around house in the morning to start a day. Guest living space is very independent, private bath, separate stairs. Nancy also recommended us local restaurants which was quite good. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had on Airbnb.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Nancy's place!! It was easy to communicate with Nancy who is so sweet and welcoming! It was a pleasure to share our stories and travel experience around a cup of tea or a delicious breakfast. Her estate is really pretty with all these maple trees (nice view on the valley too!) and the house and bedroom are so feel-like-home comfortable that it was very hard to leave and continue our journey through Vermont and New Hampshire. Would definitely recommend and come back. Thank you so much Nancy!

  • Nancy was a wonderful host! This is by far one of the best Airbnb experiences we have had. Nancy's house is beautiful, located in a rural area yet not too far from town. The room was big and very comfortable, really clean and relaxing. Nancy made us feel at home even before we arrived and throughout our stay, and if we had more time we would have stayed longer just to hang out! We loved our conversations with Nancy and wish we could have gotten to know her better. We would definitely recommend staying with Nancy!

  • Nancy´s Home is a very beautiful place to stay. Her house is very cozy and we felt comfortable and integrated in her life from the first moment on. She has a big garden and we had the pleasure to cook with her own grown vegetables, which was wonderful. We are so happy that we could spend two nights in your place and would love to come around an other time. Nancy is a communicative person and you can chat with her if you like but she will also respect your privacy and leave you time for your own. All in all we can absolutely recommend a stay at Nancy´s home.

Come stay at our comfy house on the edge of the picturesque village of Newbury, Vermont. We're surrounded by hundreds of acres of woods and extensive flower gardens. You'll have the first floor pretty much to yourselves. We put out a breakfast of home-made jam and bread, yogurt, granola and fruit.
Our guest room is off the mudroom away from the rest of the house. It looks out into the woods and back garden. It's very quiet and secluded. We built the house 30 years ago and the house and gardens have been our hobby ever since. We love sharing it all with others.
Newbury is right on the Vermont, New Hampshire border, so the village has views of the Connecticut River and the White Mountains. Our house is at the end of a short dirt road within the village limits. We are secluded and surrounded by woods, but just a minute drive down into the village.
  • What an idyllic setting in the woods of Vermont. I had a great stay with wonderful hosts.

  • We had a lovely stay at Louise's Gardens and Vermont Village. We especially enjoyed the gardens and even took pictures to try replicating some of them at our home. We took a quick dip in the small swimming pond on the property. Louise was welcoming and helpful. We ate a dinner together, sharing our leftovers, along with some tomatoes and green beans from her garden. The adorable dog, Rainey, did all he could to welcome us also!

  • The Harrison home was exactly as advertised. It is surrounded by lovely gardens and provides guests with a quiet and restful beauty. The Harrison home is a 15 minute walk to Newbury, a lovely quintessential Vermont village. The Harrison are welcoming, friendly and helpful. If you desire a great Vermont get-away experience this is the place.

    Lee2014-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely gardens. Very comfortable and private room. Louise met us at the door and welcomed us in. There is a nice downstairs area to and we had full access to the kitchen if we wanted to use it. Louise is very friendly and accommodating. We felt very comfortable immediately.

  • We had a lovely stay with Louise and her husband. The room was so peaceful, greatly enjoyed our stay in Newbury and the wonderful freshly picked berries in the AM!!

    Donna2013-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The location and setting of Louise and Marvin's house was beautiful and relaxing. Our room and all of the provided facilities were of a high standard and allowed for a private and comfortable stay. We enjoyed warm weather and it was great for driving around the beautiful countryside. Louise and Marvin made us feel very relaxed and comfortable, especially through their gracious hospitality, providing us with great complimentary breakfasts and healthy and relaxing dinners at small cost. The location of the house was easy to find, being close enough to bigger towns, while still being far enough away to feel the peace of a country experience. A great stay! Recommended!

  • I felt most welcome and comfortable. A beautiful setting with a glorious flower garden. When you are in Vermont I would highly recommend staying with Louise.

Access to an entire house with all commodities in a natural environment.
Very quiet and full of trees. People in this neighborhood are very friendly. You will experience a peaceful staying, free of noises and the hectic life of a city. There are 2 beaches (lakes) behind the house with a house beach, kids park, swimming pool and a basketball court.
  • Beverly the care taker was very friendly and stopped by to introduce herself. Chalet is clean and I appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was for cooking a nice breakfast.

    Meredith2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place was wonderful and just as described! It was very cute and charming, and Carmencita had a TON of information about what we could do in the area in a really great binder. The kitchen was ridiculously well stocked with pots and pans and etc etc. The caretaker for the place was also very accessible. Highly recommend!

    Erika2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything as described, the owner was very helpful, we had a great time, we stayed one night and then had to extend a second night. The place was clean and confortable. There is a folder in the kitchen with instructions and maps of near by activities and restaurants. We had cable and fast Internet.

    William2015-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed spending labor day weekend at Carmencita's cabin in New Hampshire. Lovely neighborhood and very pleasant accommodations. Host was very helpful in picking up and dropping off keys as well.

  • My host provided all the information and was so nice to me throughout our conversation. The property was extremely beautiful, and in a perfect location, surrounded by picturesque scenery, and I spent the most amazing weekend out there. Thank you!

  • Good location. Easy directions from the host. No issues with the cabin. Very quiet and private.

    Karen2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place! Everything was great, we had 1 small concern while we were there and Carmencita was reachable and was willing to come right over and fix it. It wasn't necessary but she said if you change your mind just call and she would be there. The area is peacefully and the lake is so close. When we return to this area we will definitely stay here again.

    Maria2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had an enjoyable stay at Carmencita's! Make sure to take the 5 minute walk to Mountain Lakes where you can find the pool and lake access!

    White Mountains Chalet
    30 reviews
Hilltop View Lodge sits on an acre of wooded privacy in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in a 4-Season recreation community. It sleeps 6 adults, but is cozy for just a couple. It can sleep up to 10, if some guests are small children. Loaded with amenities, close to attractions, and waiting for you!
A cozy cabin with lovely views and lots of amenities. Free WiFi, satellite TV, Blu-Ray player, gas and charcoal grills, game room (with pool table, foosball, air hockey, and more), in-house games (board games, etc), covered porch and large wrap-around deck, fire pit, hiking trails, laundry room, and more! The four-season recreational community of Mountain Lakes offers amenities and activities year-round.
Our cabin is located in a 4 season recreational community, which means that there is plenty to see and do! We are also a short drive to many of the White Mountains attractions. Hiking trails, lakes, rivers, antique stores, historic sites, wonderful restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and more are nearby. Some shopping and restaurants are located a short drive (10 mins) from the cabin.
  • This house has pros and cons. First the pros, the host allowed us to check in early which was a big help after a long flight and drive. The kitchen is stocked with any gadget or utensil you could need. The house is very spacious. The game room was great and a nice bonus. We never used the TVs but there are at least 2 large ones. The Wifi is alittle slow for streaming, but I think it depended on where you were in the house. The cons: the water pump, we quickly realized that 2 people could not be showering at the same time, with 5 of us trying to get ready in the morning this was a pain. You also cannot use the washing machine and shower or use the dishwasher and washing machine (URL HIDDEN) got to be frustrating as it felt like we were constantly waiting for something or someone because of the water. The power went out twice while we were there, but the home has a great generator. Also, the septic backed up on Easter morning, at first the host wasn't too responsive, but I think within an hour we had a message that a plumber was coming and he did. It was fixed pretty quickly. Finally, the laundry/linen policy is a little tough. You have to wait for everyone to shower, then the wash, and then the dryer, which only works on medium heat. We had planned on showering the night before to get a head start but then the power went out and you can't use the washer and dryer when on the generator. We tried to comply with the policy but because of an early flight it wasn't possible for us to stay and wait for the machines. But to the credit of the host, I don't think we were charged.

  • This cabin is perfect - beautiful interior, roomy, and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor eating area, the front deck, and the fire pit in the back yard. Turn off all the lights and you can see countless stars and the Milky Way on a clear night! Just make sure to contact the host regarding bedding and things like toiler paper and paper towels, so you can know if you need to bring anything. I would wholeheartedly stay here again.

    Jeffrey2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great communication and great location for a relaxing get away.

    Mark2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house is awesome! It is very beautiful and spacious. It is a good option for going with friends or family. It has all things that you need to have a good time at home. We went to the White Mountains and the location of the house is good for that. We absolutely look forward to returning! The only "buts" are that you need to wash and dry towels and bed sheets (we were 7 people so we wasted a lot of time on it) and to drive the garbage to 25 minutes away. Despite these things, we will come back to explore more the White Mountains.

    Paula2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • good communication and very clean. It was exactly what I expected.

    Calvin 2017-09-17T00:00:00Z

    Dan2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect cabin for a family vacation. We had so much fun at the house when we weren't skiing. There is an awesome game space in the basement with pool and foosball tables, not to mention dozens of board games and puzzles upstairs. We can't wait to plan our next trip. There is so much to do here all year long. We were so impressed with the house--it was clean, stocked with extras in case we forgot anything, and incredibly cozy!

    Kelly2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. My friends and I had a lovely time sitting by the gas stove, playing cards, bringing in the New Year. It is truly a place of sanctuary. Andrea was a great host and responsive when we were trying to book. I can't recommend her cabin enough, and I hope we can come back next year again! Also, we may be the first review here, but judging from the extensive satisfactory guestbook entries, the cabin has a history of being rented outside of Air BnB, so rest assured you are in good hands :) Thanks again Andrea!

The Loft at River's Edge is a secluded, spacious, second floor river view apartment separate from the main house. Views of the Connecticut River and Vermont's mountains are breathtaking. Spacious lawns and gardens abound throughout the property. Guests have their own outdoor picnic area where they can enjoy using the fire pit and gas grill. Kayaks, a canoe and other sporting equipment are available to our guests. Our loft is a lovely and peaceful place to call your "home away from home."
The loft is a very clean, quiet, bright place on the second floor over a 2 car garage which is used primarily for storage. The apartment has two entrances and is totally separate from the main house, not sharing a common wall between the two. Guests have loved the fact that it's quiet, secluded and private, spacious, and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. An additional queen bed in the main room can be used for kids or another couple. The bathroom is spacious and has a full-sized tub/shower & vanities. The unit has Wifi and television with DVD player and plenty of DVD's to enjoy. Books and games are available as well. There's air conditioning in the summer and heating unit (both of which guests can regulate to their comfort).
The town of Monroe is a quiet little town sandwiched between mountains and the Connecticut River. The home is close to a neighborhood which makes for great walking, yet completely secluded for peace and quiet. The location is rural with farming properties dotting the landscape.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Sue's place and I can definitely see myself returning there again. The apartment was really clean and well-kept, and even had a beautiful sunflower to welcome us. I had wondered about the 2nd queen size bed since it wasn't in the photographs and I was expecting a sofa bed, but there is actually a 2nd queen size bed in the apartment. The bathroom is also much bigger than it seems in the photo. The outdoor space is really as gorgeous as it looks in the photos and we loved the view and appreciated the grill. Sue gave really clear directions to her place and provided lots of recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. The location was convenient and locals really friendly. A wonderful weekend getaway!

  • Highly recommended as a comfortable place to relax & de-compress from the rigors of urban life. Susan is a great host. She has everything covered for a very home like experience. We found everything there that we could possibly need. The living space was clean and comfortable. Plenty of recreational options were provided to enjoy the natural surroundings.

  • We stayed at Susan's apartment for 1 night in June and we had a wonderful time and couldnt have asked for better hosts. Susan and her husband greeted us when we arrived and gave us a full run down on where everything was and were more than helpful when we asked for things like a bottle opener or wood for the fire pit. The apartment is large and spacious and has a fully equipped kitchen would be perfect for cooking a family meal. The beds were comfortable and the view over is beautiful. There is an outdoor bbq, benches and seats down by the water to enjoy as well as canoes and alsorts of things to enjoy the outdoor area. Would definitely recommend this and may rebook.

Secluded, off the grid, mountainside cabin on 24 acres with incredible sunsets and 180 degree views of Vermont's mountain range. Well-furnished, immaculate, comfortable. Solar, propane and wood energy. Charming, accessible outhouse w/ window. Hiking, nature/wildlife, ATV's
This cozy cabin with knotty pine walls & ceiling along with picture windows and cathedral ceiling make this special place so rustic and charming. Laced with comfortable & casual furnishings and collections of nature items from the forest puts you more in touch with this lovely mountain setting. Kicking back and relaxing on the farmer's porch brings immediate rest from the business of your world at home. Taking in the incredible westerly view and watching sunsets from the cabin's porch will be highlights of your special escape vacation. Staying in an off-the-grid cabin is great enough but having a propane stove, water at the sink, a solar-powered shower and even a gas grill make the stay a bit more comfortable.
On your way to the cabin you'll be traveling through rural countryside, passing by dairy farms and country homes. This is a quiet little town with plenty of farming and agriculture as well as having some nice neighborhoods with more modern homes. On the mountain, there's only one other "occasional-use" home and plenty of private acreage. You're pretty much alone up there and there's plenty of trees and open land on the property.

  • Such an amazing view! The cabin was so delightful we stayed for an extra night. We felt like we were on our own mountain top. We enjoyed fires in the fire ring, grilling steaks, and playing games by firelight. Sue made our stay very welcoming and easy. Would definitely recommend for any travelers!

  • What an incredible stay at Sue's Cabin! Susan was incredibly responsive and helpful. Had the wood burning stove on when we arrived, so the place was nice and warm. Gave me her phone number to check in/contact her if we needed anything. Place was very clean and stocked with more than anything you'd need. Even the outhouse was clean, and felt totally comfortable using it. Tons of blankets, pillows, pots and pans. Brought our own wood for a fire outside and inside, but there was also wood at the cabin. Easy to find and access. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Highly recommend a stay there!!

  • Sues cabin was very cozy. My girlfriend went up for a long weekend and have a nice and relaxing time!

    Adam2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I live about 3.5 hours away from Sue's cabin and had some AirBnB credits that were going to expire. My heart resides in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and this was the perfect little weekend getaway for the two of us. It was quiet, secluded, and there was no wifi/data, so we got to spend some quality time playing the provided board games and sitting on the porch listening to the rain and each other. And of course, there was nothing like waking up on the porch, with a cup of tea, to a view like that!

    Kelsey2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views and we were able to totally relax and enjoy the silence. Pretty basic in terms of running water and electricity but we were expecting that and Sue's instructions beforehand meant we were able to find the cabin easily and really enjoy our short stay there!

Beautiful Carriage House apartment; first floor, private entrance, private deck at rear, lots of parking, in a Currier and Ives-like Vermont village.
The Carriage House has an open kitchen, living room that is warm and inviting, and conducive to conversations around the island while cooking in the gorgeous kitchen. Beam and barn wood add to its rustic, farmhouse appeal.
Bikers, runners and walkers are part of village life. People visit the beautiful McIndoes Academy next door to pick up mail or pick out a new book from the library.
  • Leslie's place was great. Very clean. Very rustic. Modern amenities and appliances. I wish we could have stayed longer. Met Jack when we checked in and he offered to make breakfast for us which we unfortunately had to turn down due to our early departure the next morning. The guest house was much larger than we expected, and there was a ton of room out back for our dog to run around. Make sure you bring a doggie bed if you have a k9. Our only issue was the bed, it was too small for two people and somewhat uncomfortable and would not have been suitable for the two of us for more than one night. Other than that, the attention to detail and decoration in the apartment is very charming and very new England, we absolutely loved it. Newly updated bathroom was very nice. Hope to come back for our next visit!

  • Lesley is a phenomenal host and her carriage house is a wonderful retreat. Her place is perfect for cooking a nice meal to eat on the back porch, and then drink a glass of wine while reading a book. Lesley has great attention to detail and really goes above and beyond to ensure that her guests are comfortable! We will definitely return!

  • Lesley, Jack, and Finn have a wonderful home with all the comforts one would want to truly relax in a rural setting. The views from the home are stunning with fields for exploring and the Connecticut river just a few minutes walk away. The hosts offer the perfect balance of privacy and helpfulness when needed. The kitchen is well-stocked and hiking and small villages for exploring are (for this region) relatively close by. What a wonderful getaway!!!

  • Lesley was a superhost. Everything was perfect (she even made pancake in the morning !). About 20 minutes from Burke for the many "Québécois" who's looking for the perfect place to relax after a good ride ! Ridiculous price, I would have pay the double for that.

    Ghislain2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! This was a very nice place to stay and the carriage house being a separate building it felt nice and private. Lesley prepared a delicious breakfast for us and their dog Finn was happy to greet us. Overall it was a very cute and well furnished place. The nice big open kitchen with modern appliances was great even though we didn't stay long enough to make any use of it.

    Victor2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We came late after a huge hiking in the White Mountains. Lesley was a sweet host. Everything was perfect, from the cleaness of the room to the tasteful breakfast . We recommand her to anyone. And we want to come back.

Solar-powered, this off-the-grid refuge sleeps up to five guests, in the same party, in a large lofted upstairs bedroom (Queen and Bunkbed) with private bath, and a pull-out futon downstairs, also with separate bath. A traditional Russian masonry stove with a bread oven keeps the Cottage cozy when the nights get chilly. A fully outfitted kitchen awaits one’s culinary whims, and an outdoor grill is available for outdoor dining on a 1000 square foot deck overlooking the pond.
We like to think that East Topsham is the 'wild west' of (eastern) Vermont. This rural little pocket of the Green Mountain State is undeniably special.
  • This is a truly idyllic setting. It is nicely furnished, comfortable, quiet and private. The night sky was spectacular. There is a pleasant walk to a very secluded lake with paddle boards and a canoe. John and Dallas were very helpful when we checked in, and left us to ourselves after that (which was our choice). They offered tours of their farm, but we had other plans. I would definitely return the next time I need some peace and quiet.

    Mark2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Dallas, John (and Joe) are very welcoming host. They have equipped the cottage very well with utensils, pots and pans and even spices, which we have utilized to cook our meals there. Surrounded by idyllic lake, forest, trails and a working farm, we did not have to leave the property once we checked in given there is so much to do. Highly recommend the blue trail (a hiking trail within the property) during the fall foliage season; beats the view on the rt 100 byway.

    Desmond2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • A picturesque Vermont getaway! This lovely little cabin on Galusha Hill Farm was our favorite place to stay on a recent New England fall foliage trip. The property is just beautiful, complete with a lake to canoe, woods to hike, and farm animals to visit. The cabin itself is rustic yet charming. We enjoyed sitting by the wood stove at night and looking up at the stars outside. In the morning we took a nice quiet hike around the lake. John was a very friendly, helpful host to my husband and me. I thoroughly recommend staying at this spot!

    Kate2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • John and Dallas were super communicative prior to our arrival, and once there, they greeted us with such a warm welcome that I felt like I was home. They have a magical piece of land and what they are doing in building and growing it in order to allow more people to come visit and do as they please is truly incredible. I am thankful to have been able to share a piece of it this weekend. The pictures don't even do it justice. The house sits in a woodsy secluded nook overlooking a pond - so if you're looking for privacy, you've got it. The house is so beautiful and quaint, I want to live in it. Down a path is another bigger reservoir with canoes and paddle boards which is amazingly beautiful and fun! If you're thinking about staying here - don't think again. This place is wonderful.

    Andrea2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible long weekend at the Cottage. It's a beautiful and relaxing setting, and because it's set back from the rest of the farm, it feels very private. The Cottage itself is clean, comfortable, and has all the necessities, though we also spent a lot of time hanging out on the big porch, which overlooks a meadow and pond. Our dog came with us and had the time of her life. We used the Cottage as a base for a couple of day hikes in the White Mountains, and it was so nice to come back at the end of the day and have such a peaceful place to hang out. We also loved the lake, which is just a short walk from the Cottage. Dallas and John were the perfect hosts - welcoming, warm, and communicative, but also gave us plenty of space. Talking with them and meeting some of their animals was a highlight of the weekend. We hope to return sometime soon!

    Carly2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to stay if you want to really unplug and get away from it all! the off-grid cottage was very comfortable, and beautifully constructed; the property was wonderful for hiking ; swimming and paddle boarding on the lake was great! Dallas was a great host and both she and John made us feel very welcome. We would recommend it highly!

    Laurie2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the privacy and peaceful setting of the cabin. It is beautiful and we enjoyed swimming in the lake, hiking around the farm and visiting the animals. Our kids and dog loved all the space to run around. The cabin is a beautifully constructed cozy timberframe cottage and totally off the grid. Dallas and John are lovely hosts and we enjoyed getting to know them and were happy to support the work they are doing on Galusha Farm. Can't wait to come back!

  • We had such a great stay! The house was so clean and well kept. The master suite was lovely! King bed was very comfy and loved the jacuzzi tub! The host had thought of everything, even left unopened toothbrushes in case we had forgotten ours! The Wi-Fi was super easy and worked great. There is a super comfy recliner in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed from a cookie sheet to a pizza cutter. But the best part was totally the land! So much space! My 3 kids and the dog wandered for hours- city kids so happy to explore the pond and the river and the trails. There were no neighbors nearby, so complete privacy. Host was so thoughtful and very communicative. We hope to return!

    Susan2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • My stay "Skip's Place" was great. The location was beautiful, the house was very clean, and Matthew kept in contact to answer any questions or give advice for anything I was wondering about. It was pet friendly and had some nice, short hiking trails and stream close by. The house really is hidden in the middle of Vermont so don't expect bars or restaurants within a 25 min drive.

    Nicolas2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, beautiful and secluded get away. Would highly recommend it to anyone who's looking to get away from a busy lifestyle and realize there more to life. Enjoyed the amazing scenery and natural landscaping all around. Can't wait to get back and enjoy it again.

    Jeremy2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Went to Skip's Place for a golf outing with my buddies and we had a great time! The place was very clean and definitely spacious enough for 4 or 5 people. But the best part was the land the house was on--many acres of woods and trails for people to explore. This was a great place to get away for the weekend and I'll likely return if I have the opportunity.

    Timothy2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Go there. Foliage season is starting and this house will exceed your expectations whatever they may be. The house is modern, clean, two great baths and three confortable double bedrooms. The surroundings are beautiful, nice hikes around and local farmers proposing the best cheese or maple syrup you will find. Seriously, go there. Book it now while it is still available!

    Valentin2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to get away! Excellent instructions and easy check-in. Would definitely come back for a longer stay!

  • This house is great. The location is perfect; secluded and quiet but a short drive to Norwalk and Bradford. The house was very cozy and had everything you could need, but most of all it was beautiful. The grounds and trails were fun to explore. We had a great stay and we already booked our trip back. Oh, and Matt was really helpful, kind, flexible and responsive.

This is our home... we love it and according to most we keep it reasonably tidy. At the same time, we lead rich lives and try not to stress if things get backed up now and then. Rest assured that our listing rooms and linens are always cleaned before the arrival of each new guest. Same goes for the guest bathroom upstairs-- however, it is a shared space and may at any time reflect some use! If we're around, please let us know if it needs attention; if not, there are cleaning supplies in the hall closet just outside the bathroom :) There are still a few places in our home awaiting renovation, mainly in the way of “finishing touches”. Each area has full functionality. PLEASE NOTE: If you book within 24 hours of arrival, we may not be able to clean your room until the late afternoon. You are still welcome to arrive as early as 1 p.m. and use the facilities.
Beautiful tree-lined street with plenty of space between houses, kind neighbors and very little traffic. • Nice people, quiet location and a good bed. I especially appreciated being able to travel with my pooch instead of having to kennel her. My Amber and Don and Jenny's Jada dog got along just fine.

  • Don & Jenn were excellent communicators and so tolerant of our unusual dynamic. We had a baby having a bad week and a dog who was not exactly quiet when we left! It's a busy, happening household often shared by others guests, a situation only possible when the hosts are so conscientious.

    Mike2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer and Don were excellent hosts! We arrived super late due to snow storm and they welcomed us to their house, helped even at that hour. • Our stay was perfect right down to the toasty warm wood stove when we arrived. Susan was a great host and made the checking in and out process very easy. The house was laid out well, the furnishings comfortable, the wood for the woodstove abundant. We stayed at the house while I attended a class at King Arthur, 30 minutes down the road, and my classmates were mildly jealous at my accommodations when most were staying at hotels across the border. And, I got to end the day greeted by our dog! Will recommend this house and it's wonderful host in the future. And would stay here in the future, especially the warmer months to be able to sit at the fire pit making smores and take a dip at the swimming hole.

    Amanda2015-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful, serene and restful location. It is close enough to town to access what you need and completely isolated when you are at the house. The sound of the river is beautiful. A campfire under the stars was great

    David2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was very welcoming and accommodating. In fact, she let us know early on our arrival day that we were welcome to check in sooner than planned, because her guests had left early in the morning. Also, the wood stove was heating the house when we arrived, such a nice touch. She also had the makings for Smores for us, ready for the campfire! If we had any questions, Susan was available by telephone and happy to help. The kitchen is well-equipped and our group of 6 cooked all our meals for 4 days. We enjoyed playing table games at the big dining table, and also watched DVD's in the evening. Wright's Mountain is very nearby and we had a terrific time climbing it and taking in the beautiful view. We also enjoyed a stop at one of the wineries nearby for a tasting (Seven Birches). We bought firewood from the friendly neighbors and enjoyed an outdoor evening campfire by the river. We parked 5 cars on the property with no difficulty. We had a wonderful stay!

    Linda2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Vermont River House. The house and property was wonderful. Susan and Dutch left wine and treats and checked that we arrived ok and were available by phone for whatever we needed. Only issue we had was with the internet. It was extremely slow but it seems that this was unusual and Susan and Dutch were planning to check it out.

    Linda2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The river house was exactly what we hoped for. There was a bottle of wine on the counter, and everything was just like in the pictures. It was clean, quiet, and picturesque. There was a chalkboard on the wall that listed some good places to go out to eat, and all of Susan and Dutch's information was listed in case we needed to reach them. There was a also a landline at the house so we could make and receive calls (no cell service, which is nice since it forces you to put the cellphone away). There was TV and Wi-Fi, which was great for hanging out and watching a movie or double checking directions for places we were going in the area. There was also a fully stocked kitchen - cooking staples (olive oil, spices, etc.), pots, pans, toaster, plates/dishes/silverware, microwave, even a Mickey Mouse waffle maker. :) I should mention that I forgot to check in with Susan when I arrived, and she tried every way possible to reach me and make sure that I got in okay, which I appreciated (though I'm sorry I put her through the hassle)! We would definitely stay here again if we're ever in the area. Thank you Susan and Dutch!!

    Alex2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I enjoyed a lovely stay at this perfect rustic spot. Waking up to the sounds of a babbling river is a rare and precious thing. This was across the board the definition of a fantastic and peaceful country escape. The fire pit and grill are perks that make the outdoor experience here especially beautiful. We enjoyed the swimming holes and stillness of the natural beauty all around. Relaxation comes very easily here! We were made to feel quite comfortable with thoughtful touches from Susan like a happy welcoming package. She was super attentive and accommodating the whole time. If you are looking to quiet the mind and build happy memories at a country get away in the woods, this is the place.

  • We had a magical time at Susan and Dutch's river cottage. The deck, yard, and river views were serene and beautiful. The setting was better than the pictures. Susan was incredibly responsive and helpful through the whole process. We hope to visit their cottage many more times in the future! Thank you Susan and Dutch!

  • What first attracted me to stay here was the lower cost and location between two points on my trip, but it was a very nice room and stay. It is hard to see how interesting and unique the room is from the photo, but a very comfortable bed, and vines and wood sculpture in the room made it a fun and unique stay. A desk, bathroom just next door, and a very quiet environment of a nice family going about their own lives created a little retreat which was just what I needed to do some computer work. Delighted at the high speed internet, best of trip. Thoughtful touches like a new soap and offer of fruit were appreciated. Family was away at dinner when I arrived but left notice how I could find my room, and that set the stage for the rest of the stay. very quiet and practical, every need met. An old farmhouse on a large lot, green out the windows in a serene little town.

The camper is closed up for the season. Tent sites all winter for the hearty! See you all next spring! This is a pop-up camper set up and ready for your stay. On a working farm with extensive gardens and dogs, cats, lambs, chickens, a bunny, and Rosie our pet turkey. We feature a full court (no dribble) basketball court, horseshoes, and badminton court, with picnic table situated in the woods for shade all day. Trails are thru out the farm for hiking with cool streams for those hot days.
  • Brian and family were excellent hosts. Brian assisted us with checking in, using the tractor to transport our things down to the site and a fire was already lite... The camper was an experience to remember... So much rain, that I thought we would get wet inside (some water sweat through the canvas). Double check the weather report prior to camping. We are new to camping... It rained most of the time and so we did not get a chance to enjoy the farm or the outdoors. Beautiful though... Brian suggested a children's museum, which was a great idea for the girls, when it was raining. When it was not raining our girls enjoyed greeting the animals (turkey, sheep, chicken, and the rabbit was their favorite)! This was a good first our family (2 toddlers and parents)!

    Althea2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We felt most welcomed at Brian's, even given the short notice given to them of our arrival. It met all our expectations and more.

  • Brian and Terry made us feel very, very welcome. The tent is on a corner of the property that gave us privacy. At the same time, the doors of their home were open to us if we needed anything. They shared the vegetables in the garden and invited us to a family party. Brian made sure the camper had enough water and power every day, and brought a brand new grill down to the camper for our use. The night sky was spectacular.

  • This place is awesome! Brian and his wife have created a farm haven behind the house complete with open air enclosures for their sheep, their pigs, their majestic turkey...and the list goes on. The camper at the back of the property is cozzy and we slept three very comfortably. We'll be staying again next time we'll be in the area for sure.

  • Fantastic start to finish! Brian went out of his way to make the stay a great memory. This is an off the grid experience and he was very generous with his time. The animals on the farm are star attractions and the camper was clean and situated perfectly on the edge of his property. He even supplied a hearty breakfast. Will be back. Can't go wrong staying here if you want an off the grid experienced.

  • I'm a seasoned Airbnb traveler and I have to say that this camping experience was fantastic. Hope was very welcoming. They invited us to have fresh blueberries and cream with them but we were full from just having dinner and desert down in town. When I went up to their house for something they offered me a taco (which looked and smelled really good). Brian got a fire going for us and his wife made up the beds in the camper with fresh/clean sheets and lots of warm blankets. I slept like a baby! The other posts from previous visitors were spot on. These folks are super nice and the farm is beautiful. I hope to return again soon.

  • Brian was a great host. Very welcoming and he made sure our stay went very smoothly. When we arrived he had a campfire going and made sure that we got settled in ok.

  • First off, Brian was an awesome host. Very kind, generous, and welcoming. To call his homestead property beautiful would be an understatement. We stayed in the camper for two nights over a long weekend. It was situated on the edge of the property. The flowers, farm animals, and natural beauty of Vermont were on full display. I would honestly struggle to find a negative aspect of this stay. Brian was very generous with his time. Whether asking questions or making small talk with the kids. He was close by if we needed anything, but gave us plenty of privacy. Just an all around nice guy. Brian built camp fires for us both nights. He allowed us to pick and graze fresh blueberries, raspberries, peas, and mulberries. He even picked us a couple bags for the long ride home. He also picked some beautiful flowers for us to take home. We would love to stay here again next trip to Vermont. Great camping experience. Some quiet time in nature away from the city was good for the whole family. Just bring some food, water, lanterns and enjoy the relaxation. I highly recommend this off the grid destination. Thanks again Brian!

Beautiful off grid Yurt and Timber framed bathhouse nestled in the upper Connecticut river valley of Vermont. Great Location with less than 30 minute drive to the western edge of the White mountains 1 hour to Montpelier and 40 minutes to Dartmouth/Hanover. Enjoy a unique and quite experience on a back country road with the property's stocked pond and walking/mountain biking trails, just behind Coyote hill mounting biking camp.
This is an off grid living situation and requires some addition efforts to maintain comfort. Hot and cold running water is available but needs to be used responsibly. Additionaly, to stay warm you need to be able to run a wood stove as it is the only source of heat for the Yurt. Firewood is available at no extra cost.

We love this sunny, cozy little cabin tucked back close to the surrounding woods off the road. This 2 br and 1.5 bathroom space is a lovely yet close getaway from Dartmouth/Hanover area! Great sleeping spaces! The front screened-in porch makes it a great place to sit in the evenings without any bother from summer bugs. You will find the cottage beautifully decorated. This stay will be one to put in the scrapbook and remember always!
Family friendly and equipped with all your travel needs! This small little house/cottage packs a punch! Complete kitchen for cooking in! Stocked with every piece of kitchenware you could imagine. Great in the summer for taking advantage of all the local farm (fruit/veggie) stands in the area and some of the local dairies where you can purchase fresh milk and cheeses! Minutes from hiking, fishing and local lakes and ponds. Across the Connecticut River from the popular Farm-Way Inc.-Vermont Gear! Cottage is located about 30 miles North of Dartmouth College.
A small grocery 'Four Corners Store' is about 1/2 mile down the road and 'in- season' has a great ice-cream stand! The owners are very friendly and can answer any questions you may have! There's a famous Pizza place across the river called Colatina Exit…a MUST if you have the time!
  • Very friendly over chat and the house was very clean. I was really happy with the conditions of the place.

  • Cynthia was a terrific host! She was extremely communicative prior to arrival and made our stay wonderful. Cynthia left us some delicious homemade coffee cake and supplied us with coffee, bottled water, and juice for the weekend - so unnecessarily generous! The home was cozy, clean, and well equipped to house us.

    Gabrielle2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's place was awesome! We had such a fun weekend away. Would definitely go back!!

  • Cyinthia lives in Colorado but was available for us with SMS for all our questions. It was in the beginning strange to get in to a house when no one welcomes you and show you around so we felt like invaders at the beginning we were not sure if it was the right house.but we were ok after a waile.

  • This weekend was an amazing getaway and Cynthia's cabin was the perfect place. Super clean, spacious and the pictures don't do it justice. Will be staying here again for sure!!!

    Kyle2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and very comfortable cabin in New Hampshire! Our family of two adults and two kids (toddler and baby) had a great stay at Cynthia's place. The cabin is VERY well equipped and Cynthia provided good tips about places to go. She even had some things for breakfast waiting for us when we arrived. There are plenty of things to do nearby (lakes, mountains) and Cynthia was kind enough to lend us her paddleboard (we loved trying it!). Just take into account that there is nothing dividing the rooms upstairs. Our kids are heavy sleepers so that wasn't a problem, but we did had to lower our voices after their bedtime. To sum up, we had a wonderful time in the cabin and would love to come back other timer

Charming old cape, located in quintessential Vermont village. Roomy bedroom with desk, dresser and large closet so you can unpack and unwind. Living room is comfy and mostly private bathroom is modern and large. Great porch during warmer months. Walk to the village store and have lunch on the beautiful common. Newbury is located along the CT River and is a great location if you want to visit/hike both Vermont and New Hampshire! Small B & W darkroom also available if you are interested.
My house was build in 1826. It's has lots of character with wavy glass windows and old wide board floors and other vintage features. You are in a country village but access to nearby cities and towns very easy. Cell service can be spotty in rural areas. We have a Verizon booster and there is also AT&T cell coverage in the village.
Newbury is a beautiful area of Vermont. We have the quintessential village with a large Common and great village store. The library is open three days a week and there's a Post Office, and a local bank. We also have a small thrift shop which is also open three days a week. There is a really nice walking loop that covers about 2 miles that takes you down some back roads in the village. There are several small towns with restaurants and shops close by and small cities, like Montpelier, Hanover, St. Johnsbury and Littleton, are a short drive away. Larger cities, like Boston and Montreal, are a few hours away but are surprisingly easy to get to. Newbury has more miles of roads than any other town in the state, most of those being dirt roads that can lead you through woods and farm lands. GPS is not recommended but good tires are. Winter tires, not all seasons, are a must in Vermont from November to May.
  • Comfortable , many wonderful perks such as fruit & pitcher of water in the room every night. Very private.

  • Wonderful stay. Linda took the time to show us around the place. Home was very clean and Linda was very welcoming. Location is great if you enjoy early morning walks like I do.

    Scott2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Linda’s was a very pleasant experience. She was very accommodating and was waiting up for us when we arrived. Her home is lovely and if you’re interested in photography- she is a live expert on the subject. The dark room is amazing and well worth looking into, as there are so many nearby attractions and landscapes to photograph. The guest room was comfy and inviting: equipped with a heater, rocking chair, desk, dresser, and even space to hang your clothes. Lydia, her pooch enjoyed sitting with me in the rocking chair as I relaxed. The cats are also very friendly but didn’t wander far from the kitchen. It was really nice that Linda had toiletries available in case you forgot something (who needs a hotel?!). She was also extremely helpful while I was planning a trip to the mountains- she has great recommendations on food and local landmarks. Newbury is a very quiet town, but it is also very welcoming to visitors! Be sure to enjoy the stars at night, and for those who need to be connected: there is wifi. I would come back to visit and wouldn’t hesitate to stay with Linda.

  • Staying with Linda was great! We were her first guests. Her home was very cool and old and was tidy. Her listing is accurate. She made us feel very welcome. We certainly recommend staying with Linda in her sweet little village.

  • Linda was a great host. She provided excellent directions and was flexible with a late check in. Her property is beautiful. It's a very short walk to a great general store and quaint downtown area. The room was very cozy, comfortable and clean. The house is beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Phenomenal experience.

  • The place is great, so is Linda. She made us feel right at home.

  • I had the best time at Linda's! The bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept on in a long time. Linda's house is charming, clean, interesting and had everything you need. The village is lovely and close to lots of things. Linda was great to chat with and I plan on coming back for another get away weekend as I enjoyed it that much.

  • It was a very pleasant stay. Linda was very friendly and helpful. The room and bed were clean and comfortable. We love the small town experience. We took a small walk in the town the morning. The view was beautiful and everyone was friendly.

Rustic, cozy 1 bedroom guest house for 2 with full kitchen and bath in rural VT, 30 mins from Hanover NH.
I have lived in this sweet little barn for years while renting out the main house - it is a sweet, cozy tiny house! Now I have decided to rent out the barn while I do renovations in the main house. The space is perfect for two but a twin bed in the living room can sleep one more if needed. Dogs are welcome as long as they are house trained and won't chew or break anything.
I am located just a few miles from Interstate-91 but tucked away on a quiet dirt road and close to Lake Morey and Lake Fairlee. There is awesome hiking in the area and a small downtown area a few miles away.
  • Mary's barn is wonderful with a comfortable bed and linens, plush towels and hot shower, stocked kitchen, and cozy options for seating and lounging with lots of great books. We didn't get a chance to meet Mary, but she was welcoming and easy to communicate with via email.

    Donna2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's "barn" was the perfect location to be close to Bradford and East Corinth for a weekend getaway. It was private and quaint with beautiful flower gardens surrounding the home. Mary had provided muffins and everything we needed as we used Mary's as our homebase for hiking. I especially appreciated Mary's communication as I finalized the location and arrival time. I would recommend this location for a visit to the VT mountains.

    Margaret2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's barn apartment was adorable. It was clean, quiet and set in some beautiful countryside. Mary was extremely responsive to any messages I sent and left a couple of delicious muffins for us! We had a great time there and will definitely return!

    Dan2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, Mary is a wonderful host just getting into Airbnb with a small converted barn in the midst of Vermont's lovely countryside. A fully equipped kitchen, looks-like-new bathroom, and comfy queen-size bed - the kind you can fall asleep on before you take off your glasses (like me). Mary is SO considerate - two sinful cupcakes on the counter next to a Keurig coffeemaker, and enough nice new plates, stainless steel table setting, baking vessels - the works. All around you are lovely New England farms. In one direction is a modern Hanniford supermarket less than 3 miles away - and if you're there on a Saturday night, you can get the whole regional experience by visiting the Bear Mountain Speedway, a dirt track course like the one a kid named Mario Andretti raced on 60 years ago. This is not a "Holiday Inn" - this is the New England electic which is why you are coming to New England and not Manhattan!

    Mel 2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time staying with Mary and it could not have been any better. She was just so sweet! She made sure that we had everything we needed (including snacks) and even left us pamphlets on things to do in the area since I had asked her previously for ideas. She truly went above and beyond to make sure we didn't miss on anything the area had to offer. Thanks to her we made it to opening day's breakfast buffet at the Limlaw Maple Farm. All in all, 10 out of 10!

    april2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and her family warmly welcomed us into the house. The house had everything we needed for our stay and was very clean and beautifully arranged. We really loved the way she has decorated the house which brought character to it. We would highly recommend "The Barn" at Bradford!!

  • Mary was very helpful! Had a good time

    James2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Location had limited options when we booked here as we normally do not book places without a lot more reviews on them. The place is ok but does need a little more finishing touches.
