Places to stay in New York
Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • Great apartment in a fun neighborhood. This part of Williamsburg has so much to offer at walking distance. The apartment looks exactly as advertised. Everything was clean and Azul was easy to meet and gave us a good run-down. We would stay here again and recommend it for those wanting the Brooklyn NYC experience. Also, super close to Manhattan - 1 train stop.

  • Maria's space is gorgeous! The neighborhood is very safe and close to public transport, restaurants and shops just a stones throw away. Everything you could need is provided and Azul was always a text or phone call away. Any questions we had were answered promptly. Highly recommend.

  • A gorgeous apartment in a good area, really great to come back to after exploring Manhattan x

  • Great apartment with a stunning rooftop. Makes you feel like being part of the Williamsburg scene

  • Maria's place is truly as charming as it looks in the photos. The location is fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend Maria's place to anyone who's looking for an opportunity to have an authentic Brooklyn / New York experience.

  • Very cozy and nice place. Azul and Maria are great people. Well located and ease to commute to and from manhattan.

  • This apartment was INCREDIBLE. It's exactly as pictured and in the best location. We parked our cart in a garage for the two days we were there and had no trouble walking and Uber-ing around. We felt incredibly safe and did not want to leave. If we go back to NYC we will be staying here again. Maria and her assistant Azul were so easy to reach and responded via text immediately if we had a question. The apartment was incredibly clean and also incredibly charming--so much character. Super comfortable bed, too! Thank you SO much!

    Lisa2016-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our night in this quirky place. It is a third-floor walkup on a busier street, but neither was really a problem. We felt very welcome, and Brooklyn is such a unique place. Each block brings a new experience. I wouldn't suggest planning on doing a lot of cooking, the stove is more of a conversation piece than a chef's tool but we weren't there to cook. Also, there wasn't enough hot water for two showers, but I like really hot showers.

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 400+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • We enjoyed a wonderful 5 days in NYC staying with Carol and Marc who were fabulous hosts. Friendly, easy going, lots of recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Used their bikes to explore the city - great way to get around! Loved the Loft apartment - a real NYC experience. Highly recommended. These Aussies will be back! Thanks Carol and Marc.

    Mary2013-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our stay here. Marc was very accommodating and friendly. The room and bathroom were immaculate and the apartment very superb. Mark was a wonderful host, offering great advice, directions and recommendations. He was very accommodating and allowed us some extra time to store our luggage while we toured the city after our one night stay. We will be staying here for our next visit.

    Cody2016-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks again Marc & Carol, your apartment was/is great and your hospitality perfect. We loved our room (& bed), the bathroom, kitchen and above all the balcony where we started our days with a small breakfast. It was clean/neat & spacious, perfect! We really enjoyed our small chats and the great (& many many) tips you both gave us and we very much appreciated your help with bookings and other stuff :). Plus, we are thankful that it was not a problem to storage our bag for a few days! We can highly recommend this apartment and Carol & Marc as hosts to everyone! :) Britt & Pieter

  • This was my first ever Airbnb experience and I'm SO glad I chose to stay with Jeffrey. His apartment was really cute and cozy, clean, functional, and had a welcoming energy. He came downstairs to welcome me, and had wonderful iced tea and cherries waiting - perfect for a hot summer's day. My intent with this trip was to visit some art museums and galleries, visit Central Park, and eat some cheesecake and the famous chocolate chip cookies at Levain Bakery uptown. Jeffrey is full of great information about the city, how to get to various places, and looks stuff up for you if you don't know it. Also, he makes really good breakfasts + coffee. The apartment is located close to transit, within walking distance to Central Park, and really close to all the restaurants on 9th ave. The private room was very clean, comfortable, and had great air conditioning. There are hangers if you want to hang your clothes up, a dresser to store things, and there's a power outlet located conveniently near the bed. There are also tons of books in the room - if that excites you! The bathroom is super-clean, smells nice, and stocked with fresh towels. Jeffrey is happy to hang out and chat about stuff over breakfast and at the end of the day if you'd like. We ended up playing Scrabble on 2 out of my 3 evenings there! Such a delightful experience! Jeffrey is such a wonderful, welcoming, fun person - please do yourself a favor and stay with him if you're visiting the city!

    Nikki2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • As this was my first airbnb-experience I didn't exactly know what to expect and I am totally overwhelmed still by Jeffreys friendliness, hepfullness and way of making people feel welcome in his home. I had two absolutely awesome days within his tiny artisty appartment that is located absolutely perfectly, but the best about it has been the host itself! Thank you Jeffrey for all our talks, for the wonderful breakfast and waking up to the smell of delicious coffee! There will be definitely more desert!!!!

    Carolin2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is an artist, and He is very friendly and easy going man. His place is what you see in the pictures. The room has no views, but ok to spend the night. Kitchen looks like a set of a movie!

    Carlos2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first ever Airbnb and I cannot express how grateful I am to have stayed with Jeffrey! He’s an amazing person. Very nice, eager to share his knowledge of the City, show you around, hang out, and learn more about you. Jeffrey’s apartment is perfect, centrally located and a great place to stay. Jeffrey definitely goes above and beyond as a host, and set the bar for Airbnb incredibly high. If you’re considering a stay with him you should book right away!!!

    Patrick2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was just as the add described, and Jeffrey was a warm and welcoming host. The location of the place is perfect for access to all mid-town has to offer, and the bedroom was clean, quiet, and serene. A perfect and charming home base from which to explore New York!

    Stuart2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is about the nicest guy I can imagine staying with. Great conversation, extremely hospitable guy. Made coffee and tea for my arrival and breakfast in the morning. Knows the city well and was a pleasure to meet and stay with.

    Marty2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff was real, authentic, and interesting. His place is so unique and differentiated, I beg you to stay here. Make a real connection, experience something new and alive and beautiful. Buy one of his beautiful handmade scarves that you can find in his workshop. Be happy.

    Jake2016-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is hands down the best air bnb host I have ever had. He is a beautiful soul who provides a wonderful, comfortable environment to stay in a not so comfortable city. The location is excellent, close to everything in midtown and multiple subway stops. The room and apartment are fabulous, cozy and quaint, garnished with Jeffrey's colorful, artistic creations which will bring joy to anyone who appreciates art. Jeffrey is extremely helpful, with endless knowledge about the city, and is happy to provide you with food recommendations as well as directions to anywhere. He makes a wonderful breakfast in the morning, and is more than happy to spend time chatting with you about anything over a glass of mint tea. I honestly cannot say enough good things about my experience. If I am ever back in New York, I will definitely be staying here again.

  • I am a fairly frequent AirBnB traveler. Michelle’s home was top notch and all communication with her was 100%. My wife and I felt like locals in this space. It was about a 10 minute walk to the train that took us into Manhattan. Take the express and it’s pretty fast. The neighborhood is totally residential. Easy parking on street. Another reviewer mentioned some noise from neighbors. We did not have any issues at all. I would definitely stay again.

    David2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Michelle's Studio was the best we've had so far through the portal. Michelle went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was comfortable- it never felt like we were guests, we were treated as friends. The house is very well equipped (new kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, etc.) and spotless. The apartment is well located- lots of shops and restaurants in the vicinity, and the subway station is about a 7-8 minute walk away. If you're planning to hang around Manhattan-Brooklyn, and want a warm and comfy environment to stay in, Michelle's home is definitely the place to book.

    Riya2017-03-25T00:00:00Z

  • Great Airbnb in a great location in NYC. East Village has all of my favorite restaurants in NYC and Reka's place was walking distance to all the spots. Her place was so stylish and bed was very comfortable. Exactly what I needed after walking around NYC. Would stay here again!

    Annie2018-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place: cozy, quiet and in a great neighborhood. Coordinating with Reka was very easy. A great place to stay!

    Lucas2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Reka's place was perfect for my weekend stay in NYC. Exactly as she described. Great location, great value. Although you are staying in Reka's apt, the two levels really make for a more private feel. Her suggestion book for neighborhood places was handy and spot on for descriptions and I took advantage of her suggestions for great local food. I highly recommend this AirBnB location.

  • The apartment was exactly as appears in the photos and was clean, quiet, comfortable and well decorating. The location is perfect to explore New York. Réka and Erin are really friendly and helpful though I had a lot of questions I'd happily stay there again and recommend it for anyone.

  • I cannot say enough about Jon and Chester! The space is gorgeous, spacious and surrounded by wonderful restaurants and shopping. We had a cocktail party the night we arrived and it was such a beautiful venue. Having Jon and Chester right there to answer any questions made it easy and they could not have been more gracious!

  • This is a fabulous apartment; exactly as described. The location is perfect, being convenient to several subway stations, many great restaurants but pretty quiet. There were 4 of us and there was so much space. Chester and Jon were excellent to deal with from the moment we booked. We only met Chester, who greeted us and told us everything we needed to know. We had no need of any help during our stay so didn't get to meet Jon. The apartment is extremely clean, well maintained, well stocked with lovely bedding and towels. Have to mention the coffee machine: saved us money as no need to go out to get delicious coffee! We would highly recommend this apartment and will definitely stay again if we are able to return to NYC. We loved our trip (Website hidden by Airbnb)

    Vanessa2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The home is absolutely gorgeous - huge and inviting, exceptionally well appointed, and Jon couldn't have been more accommodating. I'm already looking forward to staying there again!

    Michael2014-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? This apartment is lovely - it lived up to our expectations and more. Incredibly light and spacious, comfortable and with everything you need and more. The photos don't do it justice. Close to restaurants, bars and coffee shops and the subway. A very warm welcome from Jon was followed by a tour of the apartment showing where everything is. It makes such a difference having a host who wants to be sure you have a great time and enjoy their place. Nothing was too much trouble. Being able to leave our luggage safe between checking out and leaving for the airport was a great help. Looking forward to the next time. This apartment will be our first choice. Highly recommended.

    Steve2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming and welcoming hosts that were extremely accommodating. The apartment was super clean and in the perfect location. I would definately stay here again.

    Natalia2016-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is spacious, beautifully appointed and located in a great part of NYC. An ideal base for exploring the City, dining and nightlife or simply relaxing in comfortable surroundings. Best of all, Chaester and Jon were the ideal hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Highly recommended.

    David2013-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chester and Jon were so wonderful during our stay this summer! We could not have been happier with the apartment as well! Jon met us when we arrived and helped us get settled in! They were so accommodating! We had our new 2 month old baby and our little dog with us, and they made sure we had everything we needed. They were very friendly and our dog even made friends with their dog :) The apartment is in a great location as well! We will be coming back to NYC a lot in the future and we hope to stay at Chester and Jon's place!

Art school Pratt is cross the street, make this neighborhood safe and convenient. At the top(6th) floor, you could see the most beautiful manhattan skyline from our private balcony. Restaurants, bars, supermarket downstairs. Bus stop at my main entrance. Near manhattan bridge, very close to downtown manhattan!
Note: this is a living room space with room divider- curtains. A 1300 sq feet 2 bdr 2 bathrooms apt.
  • 5 stars doesnt even describe this stay here! A million would be more accurate. In addition to the location being great, this space was clean, cozy, bright, modern, spacious and chic. Although, the profile/ad is pretty amazing, when i arrived my expectations were blown out the ball park. So swank, clean and accomodating . Had way too much fun here, until the point, that I got bummed to leave. Ty again to Tracy and anyone reading this, do your self a huge favor and book here. Just totally AMAZING.

    Britney2018-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great and comfortable. Everything was clean and looked like the pictures. The only thing is that the apartment gets a little cold but you can turn on the heater.

    Marcia2017-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy was a good host! She communicated well ans quickly. Her place was exactly like the pictures and has a lovely view of the Manhattan skyline! There are a lot of shops and restaurants around as well. If you are wanting a stay in a cute and quieter part of New York City, then Tracy's place is just right.

    Melissa2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place and great location! I’d recommend it

    Marta2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy is welcoming. She has two rooms. Make sure you have your own room and not the one in the living room, your only privacy is a curtain. If you are a backpacker, then it might not be a problem for you. The bathroom is nice and spacious, the neighbourhood is good and safe, the view is great.

    Chantal2018-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's place is easy to find and convenient to stay at! She was very kind and accommodating. Would stay again if I needed to :)

    Andrea2018-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's room is a great place to stay in New York. The location with the bus stop downstairs is also really convenient to join the main Subway station of the area. Tracy is really kind and helpful, her apartment is also really clean and nice. I recommend this place if you want to stay in Brooklyn/ New York.

    Guillaume2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I was lucky enough to meet Tracy during my stay; she is the sweetest person you'll ever meet in New York. Her space was minimal, clean, quiet, and close to lower Manhattan (as it is located in Downtown Brooklyn). I hope to book again the next chance I get to visit New York!

Location, Location, Location - 10 minute bus ride (1 stop) to NYC Times Square. Bus stop is a 2 mins walk from house and frequency is every few minutes for 24 hours. Super safe and Quiet neighborhood. Brand new, very clean, studio apartment with a private bath room, kitchenette and private work space. The studio is renovated with natural stone floors, high end finishings and closets, throughout the apartment. Breathtaking views of NYC 1 block away.
The Studio is located in the below ground section of the house. So you will need to walk up and down stairs, to enter and exit the building.
The famous Hamilton Avenue is a 2 mins walk away. This has breathtaking views of the city and a great place for a night stroll to near by restaurants.

  • Great first experience with Airbnb! Continently located - short trip to NYC & short walk to amazing view of the skyline. Quiet & safe area. The heater gets a little loud at night but I still slept fine & he warned us about that in the posting. The apartment was clean & he left us a helpful note. The toilet is AWESOME! He was quick to respond with great tips and suggestions & I would definitely recommend his place or return in the future. Thanks Kam!

    Abigail2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kam’s place was in a great location to get to and from NY. He left very detailed instructions that helped us navigate. A comfortable bed and some Netflix is what you really need after a day of walking through NYC!

    Sarah2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay! Fabulous area and great walks.

    Michelle2018-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Although it's on the New Jersey side of the Hudson, it really is just about 20 minutes door-to-door to Midtown. There are frequent buses along JFK Blvd., about five minutes' walk away. It's a basement, but well furnished, spacious and suitable for a multi-day stay. It's about ten minutes' walk to a supermarket, and the kitchen has a microwave and fridge.

    Victor2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place for a quick stay and nice location. Good bed. Was very clean. There is no kitchen in the room. It was listed as a whole apartment but actually it is a room (that you can lock) in an big apartment. Therefore the price tag should be compared to private rooms and not to others apartment listings. I was a bit deceived by that.

    Shan2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ok first the room, Awesome really really nice private room in a great location. I walked everywhere because it seemed like everything was within a mile or 2 of this place. The bathroom was nicer and cleaner and bigger than the 4 star hotel I stayed the night before. The place had every amenity from a fridge to cable and a brand new bed. I will stay here again for sure. Nor for the host. Samira is a fun and beautiful woman with a ton of energy and a real gift for hospitality. I felt like I was an old friend. We chatted and talked and she even let me tag along to the hookah bar! Samira is great hostess and if you want to avoid the touristy 3rd rate hotels this is a home away from home.

    Dustin2014-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time I used the airbnb site and it was a good experience. The location of the room was great with all the key New York places within walking distance. As a host , Samira was very helpful and efficient with clear instructions and advice.

    Rashmi2014-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Samira was very friendly. My brother decided to join me and my mom in New York last minute and Samira helped add in a single sofa bed for him, which was really helpful! The room was really clean and the bathroom was really nice. We were only a few blocks away from Time Square which was fun. It was noisy at night but we were so tired it didn't really bother us all that much. We all enjoyed our stay here!

    Tricia2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice décor & CLEAN studio. Can walk to everything. Pictures and description were accurate. They don't use heat on their floor but provided a space heater that was turned off upon arrival. The space heater didn't warm up the room for the first night, but was very toasty afterwards. Overall it felt very cozy and smelled really nice! Didn't have any problem sleeping with the city noise. After tax parking cost $58 for a 24-hour period at a garage on the next street over. Samira made it very easy to check-in and even let us come earlier when I wasn't feeling well. Would definitely stay here again!

    Sarah2015-12-07T00:00:00Z

Located in prime trendy tree-lined block of Hell's Kitchen, this beautiful apartment is full of natural light and is very quite. Situated in the rear of the second floor of a well maintained walk-up.
Space features hi-ceilings w/ recessed lighting, dramatic exposed brick in nicely furnished living room and bedroom. Good light and large queen size bedroom makes this unit very comfortable. Open concept stainless kitchen and wide-plank wood floors.
Few places in the world can rival Hell's Kitchen for its concentration of iconic landmarks. The Empire State Building towers over 34th Street at Fifth Avenue. From there, you can walk one block west to Macy's flagship, or a few blocks north to see Patience and Fortitude, the photogenic marble lion statues standing guard outside the New York Public Library. You can pass through Times Square en route to Rockefeller Center and the Museum of Modern Art. The area is also home to legendary performance halls, including dozens of Broadway theaters, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden and Carnegie Hall, as well as newer concert venues like Terminal 5. The seemingly endless files of skyscrapers also house journalism, finance and advertising giants: The New York Times, for instance, has been headquartered in Midtown West since 1904. Midtown West is an undisputed cultural and commercial hub of New York City, located near the geographical center of Manhattan. Fifth Avenue — the city's most notable shopping strip, where you'll find stores like Bergdorf Goodman and Tiffany & Co. — separates Midtown West from Midtown East. Central Park and West 59th Street form its northern border. The southern and western boundaries are less distinct. In the low West 30s, buildings start rising higher and pedestrian traffic gets heavier (hallmarks of Midtown), though this section is sometimes referred to as the Garment District. Midtown West extends west to the Hudson River, which incorporates blocks of the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood as well as the Theater District (the core of which is Times Square). But visitors often spend a good chunk of their Big Apple vacations here because there's so much to see and do. Times Square alone draws more than 39 million visitors each year.
  • Nice place, excellent location and apartment. The only negative was that I was told the apartment was ready and it hadn’t been cleaned upon arrival

    Sandra2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • What more can I say then this couldn't be one of the most desirable locations I've stayed so far in NYC. Konstantin was excellent with communication and we had no issues getting in. He actually accommodated us to an earlier arrival time so we could get situated in his place as we had a busy day ahead in NYC and needed to settle in quick. I loved his space, very clean, provided all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, quiet for sleeping at night , Perfecto for us! Love Hell's Kitchen so we'll definitely be back!

    Millie2018-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Unparalleled location with only a short walk to Times Square. The apartment is quite small but if you plan on being out and about during the day with a comfortable place to end up at night - this is for you! The heating was centrally timed for the building so it did get a little cold at times but the bedroom stayed relatively warm. Overall was perfect for a traveller looking to ‘live’ in New York!

    Erin2018-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. He has his reason for the way he does check-in but it was a lot of hassle in pouring rain. Building and apartment is clean. Sofa turns into a futon.

    Ghani2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great location to stay for two people. Close to pretty much everything you need to enjoy New York to its fullest. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place.

    Joseph2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The description matches everything we expected. The place was clean and just far enough from Times Square where you can get a good night's rest and yet still close enough to experience all of the city life. If I ever need to come back to the area, I would request staying here again.

  • Great location. Very close to everything that you could need. Elevator was broken during our stay though and we had to carry our luggage down six flights of stairs. Other than this, no complaints. Hillary was lovely and check in and out was very simple. Would stay here again.

  • Just left Hillary's place yesterday and we were sad to go :( The studio apt is exactly as described and met all of our needs. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was great. Definitely a 10/10 and we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Hillary!!

  • My wife and I came into town for the Rockefeller Tree Lighting. The apartment was exactly as advertised: wonderful, centralized location, clean and well maintained, very secure both at the street level and the apartment itself. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Midtown. Hillary's communication was quick and informative. Five stars.

  • The apartment was great! Excellent location and nice neighborhood. We enjoyed a lot our stay in the apartment, everything was perfect.

    Agustina2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • PROS: Good location in mid-town East side; pleasant, helpful owner; great shower CONS: tiny, funky apt reminiscent of a college dorm room; old, worn bed that squeaks terribly; dogs (yes, plural) living just downstairs that bark whenever anyone walks past; somewhat noisy street with single pane windows If you're a sound sleeper and are just looking for a mid-town crash pad, this apt is perfect. If you're a light sleeper - good luck.

As you exit the back of the apartment you'll see the garden we've been lovingly working on for 6 months with the raised bed. Of course our guests are welcome to veggies that are in season during your visit. Feel free to lounge in the chair out back and enjoy our shady garden or enjoy and outdoor dinner at the table. The garden is also perfect for your furry friend, but please pick up after your poo :) We usually live right upstairs so if you have any questions/ needs don't hesitate to come on up and ask!
Our neighbors are mostly young families, in a typical urban New York/ New Jersey style. It may be a little closer quarters than you're used to if you're not familiar with the area, but everyone here is friendly and looks out for each other. There is a bodega around the corner where you can get sandwiches, meat, cheese, eggs, butter, snacks and some produce and a larger grocery store four blocks away. 4 blocks directly east is the beautiful Berry Lane Park where you can catch a soccer game, use the bike paths or let your furry friends run around in the dog run. At the northern end of the park is JC hooked and the factory, two of our favorite restaurants... all about a 10 minute walk away from the front door.
  • Great place, clean and warm. Tons of great instructions for getting into the city and very close to the light rail which connects to other trains.

  • Katie’s home was impeccable. Very cozy, It def made you feel at home. Apart from the home being perfect Katie was definitely super host. Went above & beyond for me and was always there when I needed her.

    Cesar2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice apartment, host is very helpful answered all of our questions, even gave us metro cards and light rail cards to get in and around the city while we stayed. Apartment is very clean and nice we didn’t want to leave

  • Katie was a wonderful host! My girlfriend and I stayed at her place over thanksgiving leave and it couldn't have been easier for us. She left a gift basket, all sorts of maps, recommendations, etc. Her communication was excellent from the time I booked it until I left. Great place to stay!

    Walter2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at this gorgeous apartment! It was very easy to get to NYC for the evening or the day, we had to take 2 trains and it was super easy! Both beds were very comfortable and the kitchen worked well for breakfast. It was a great space to hang out...I would recommend to anyone!

    Alina2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the look of the apartment. It is EXACTLY as pictured. So many little touches and the hosts go the extra step and have a welcome basket waiting. Would definitely recommend to a friend or family member if they ever wanted to visit NYC. The Grove Street PATH is only a 15 minutes Lyft so it was easy to get to and made NYC super accessible.

    Samantha2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent, comfortable apartment for up to two couples. Katie is very thoughtful, leaving wine on arrival, and helps with lots of good transport tips and neighborhood advice. We found it best to Lyft/Uber to the Grove Street PATH (can connect quickly for Newark airport), and also had an easy express bus ride to Port Authority one morning - stop is a close walk from the apartment. Taking the Statue of Liberty cruise from Liberty Park was scenic and convenient. Katie's apartment is spacious, well-appointed, and the bathroom/kitchen are great. We appreciated her attention to recycling, and local opportunities for groceries and restaurants.

    Chris2018-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality. Katie is a wonderful host!!! Thanks Katie for making our trip special!!!

A newly renovated, clean, modern, private studio apartment in my family's house on a cute block in Harlem. A/C and heating system, free Wifi, a TV with Roku logged into Netflix, fridge, microwave, queen size bed and optional airbed for an extra guest.
My family and I LOVE living in Hamilton Heights (West Harlem). It is a friendly and safe neighborhood with lots to offer and it is so well located in Manhattan. In our neighborhood you can enjoy many restaurants, bars, art galleries, museums, historic churches, etc. or hop on the subway and be anywhere in Manhattan or the rest of NYC in just a few minutes.
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and I must say it was a pleasure thanks to Tom. He was very welcoming and polite. Also seemed very laid back which is always a plus. He gave us a tour of the apartment and showed us where everything is and assured us that he could supply anything we run out of, gave us two sets of keys, gave us directions in every direction and assisted us with anything we could need! Couldn't really imagine a better host. The apartment very clean and tidy, secure, and in a great location. Getting in and out is easy, whenever you want, just be sure to be quiet in the late hours and don't forget to lock the gate any time. I'd say it was perfect and I highly recommend it!

    Sidney2015-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tom is an excellent host! He was so helpful with suggestions for places to see in NYC and made sure we were comfortable in the studio apartment. The neighborhood was perfect for our stay, and the metro was only two blocks away. He was always so prompt in responding to any questions. I highly recommend staying here!

  • Tom was by far the best host I've ever come across on airbnb! From start to finish he was in great communication, helping with travel tips and extremely well detailed instructions, which made us feel well looked after and not fearing of any mishaps on our trip. The apartment is very well maintained, very clean, with an even cleaner and tidy bathroom! Upon arrival we even found a list of suggestions of Toms (and his wife's) favourite local places, which I think was an excellent touch. We certainly tried and enjoyed each one. The location was really good with very fast transport to the center (by using the express line), with some classic NY Deli's scattered around, which provided us great breakfast. Tom, once again thank you very much for your help & for being so welcoming and accommodating to our stay. It's a shame we didn't get to meet you in person. Hope you had a great time in Miami. Frank & Emma

  • Great place! Great convenient location. Tom was a fantastic host, always quick to reply to any of our questions, and gave us great tips on things to see. Cosy home and quiet location, with walking distance to the subway. Would definitely recommend.

  • This listing was exactly what I was looking for. Also it helped that the spot was not far from the train. Tom was very fast in communicating back and forth with me from the booking process way in advance to the check out process. Thanks for a great stay!

  • We had a great time At Samira's place. She received us, and gave us a lot of useful information about how to move in New York. The room is very well located, the bathroom is big, great shower, everything is New and clean. She provided us with nice towels, toilet paper, soap, etc. The place is well equiped with eléctric kettle, microwave oven, frigobar, cups, glasses, plates And cutlery for 2, coffeemaker, tv, hairdrier, AND even an iron! The bed is confortable with nice sheets. Samira lives nextdoor AND she is always available for any requirement. We'd be glad to repeat our experience and highly recomend it to others!

    Valentina2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely stay here again when in NY! Perfect for a single person or couple. Great location. This part of NY is very busy so with ear plugs at night, there's no problems at all. I would recommend to anyone to stay here!!

    Bryce2018-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place is good. It was clean and ordered. It's also slightly noisy but that's expected because of the zone. The host was not there to receive me but the key was inside the room, no biggie. I checked out 1.5 later since I was jammed in traffic. This seemed to bother Samira even though I let her know in advance. I hope that was not an issue as traffic jams are a eryday issues in NY. Anyway, that one was on me. All ok otherwise. Thanks Samira.

    Angel2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fantastic, very close to time square and next to the bus station with excellent access to the metro. The downside is it's very noises at night and is really busy as soon as you step out of the door. The room was on the small side but was fine as we basically slept there and had a shower. Samira was really helpful and accommodating always fast to answer any questions.

  • Bozhena provides us with awesome place to live in. It’s very kind of her to leave a bottle of wine, fresh water and fruits and all that we need waiting for us. There’re two beds there for me and my mom and we are pleased! Thanks Bozhena! I love your bathroom as well as the kitchen which are super important to me. Will certainly come back again!

  • Good value place to stay in New York also good for family or groups. They have 2 beds in the bedroom and a lot of tea and coffee. It’s about 5 mins walk to subway. Highly recommend staying here!

    Daniel2018-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Bozhena’s place was very comfortable brilliantly clean, nicely organized call ahead for check in she was very pleasant in checking that our stay and exit went smooth

    Frances2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Just as nice as described. Up a flight of stairs from the sidewalk level, this unit was located on the first floor. The apartment has been cleverly renovated and is fresh and clean, with comfortable and functional furnishings, soft beds, nice linens and towels. Generous and helpful welcome pack of wine, snacks and fruit and all the basics (coffee, tea, spices, sugar and so on). Window air conditioners at the front and back of the unit kept it nice and cool, and it felt like our own oasis in the bustle of the city. People complain about noisy air conditioners but we consider them white noise and actually like them. Fabulous, safe neighborhood just a few blocks away from where Maya Angelou owned a brownstone at the time of her passing. If those streets could talk they'd be filled with stories about a rich and colorful past. We think the apartment was a wonderful buy for NYC, and would have been even more of a value had we stayed longer. Though we only stayed a night (in town for our grandson's high school graduation) we paid the full cleaning and Airbnb charges, which would be spread out over the visit on a longer stay. This is not a complaint, just an observation. Even with that in mind, we were so pleased to have such a roomy and lovely place for the price, and will probably visit in the future for a longer stay. Can't beat this place. We travel frequently and often rent apartments and houses, and this rental was in the top 10% for quality, ease of communication and cleanliness. No unpleasant surprises. Don't hesitate to book!

    Susan2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Bozhena's place is lovely! Great location, perfect amount of space to be comfortable for a couple of nights, clean and cozy. The bed is ultra-comfortable and the bathroom/kitchen appliances are all brand-new and in perfect shape. Definitely will stay again!

  • Bozhena was a great host! The apartment was clean and easy to access, and she was very responding and accommodating with things like early check in/luggage drop off. It was a bit cold in the apartment, but there were electric radiators available in the apartment that warmed the place up! I highly recommend this place!!

Your own studio apartment, full size bed, private bathroom, closet, high ceiling, sunny, NO kitchen but there is a refrigerator, keurig, microwave, HD TV, cable, J, Z & M trains nearby, 15 minutes to lower Manhattan. Please note that I also have two other listings, same building, please click on my profile to look at it. It is the same set up but larger. Also you can try this link 2nd floor: https://abnb.me/OE82FIZZjT and 3rd floor: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15222861?s=51 Thank you :)
Have your own key to get into the building and apartment whenever you like. There are three steps from the sidewalk. There is usually parking on the block, I never have problems parking. Note, there is street cleaning on Monday and Thursdays from 8-9:30 AM, so you must move your car or you will get a ticket/citation.

  • The appartement is well situated, 5 min walking from public transports. Walter was very kind with us and always available. It is clean and confortable.

    Stephanie2018-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Walter’s place. Although there was some initial trouble with the check in, all problems got resolved super quickly. Walter was very friendly and open and had some great tips for what to do, what to see and what to eat in the Brooklyn area as well as in Manhattan. There isn’t too much space in the room but that wasn’t a problem for us as we spent most of our time in the city. Walter even let us put our luggage into his own apartment on our last day so we could enjoy the city one last time. All in all it was a really pleasant experience. Thanks Walter!

  • Walter wasn't there when we got there, but he made sure we knew how everything worked and was very accommodating. It can get a bit loud around the neighborhood. It was a good stay overall.

    Lissa2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb, and honestly it couldn’t have been any better. Walter’s place beat my expectations, everything was clean and if by any chance you forget either shampoo or body wash the room has it. Walter really goes above and beyond with helping you with anything you might need help with. He checked up on me to see if I had any concerns or issues, my flight was an afternoon one he let me leave my bags with his girlfriend so that I could go to the city and come back to get them. If I ever go back to NY, I would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a great time at Jake´s appartment! The location is perfect to discover NYC, and the rooftop is a great place to chill! Jake was a really nice host, and gave us some good adresses in the neightborhood!

    Marine2015-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jake was very friendly and easy going. The apartment was clean, light and bright and comfortable. The location was perfect! Make sure you take the time to get out and explore!

    Keera2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is ideal for two and offers everything you need: hot shower, small kitchen, a comfy bed and a strong WiFi. The roof garden makes up for the five sets of stairs. As others mentioned before us: yes, there are trash cans in he hallway and these do smell. The smell wasn't noticeable inside the apt, so we didn't really care. Inside the apt was clean yet a little rough on the edges. The location is great, you find great places to shop and eat everywhere plus banks, a metro station and a drugstore. Guests who are irritated by a certain degree of noise, smell and dirt should avoid the area. We would return to the apartment any time. Landlord Jake is really friendly, check-in was a breeze and he even dropped by some extra towels after some days. Thanks!

    Klapeka2014-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome NYC apartment. Great host, although we did not met, he was always present with our doubts. The neighborhood is incredible, close and accessible to all. We were 2 girls and we felt super-safe, even in the building. Highly recommended!

  • This is a great value accommodation conveniently located near chinatown downtown manhattan. Lots of nice Chinese restaurants and fresh food markets nearby. The apartment is clean cosy and comfortable. It's also very warm in a cold night in New York. Host Jake is very welcoming and helpful and easy to talk to. Always reply msg and call promptly and helpful with any issues during the stay. Definitely recommended!

  • Jake was accommodating and a great host! The apartment was clean and in a perfect location and I look forward to staying here again.

  • What a beautiful city! Absolutely loved our stay in NY. Jake was very accommodating of our late arrival due to flight delays...he gave us a tour through the apartment and showed us the rooftop with views of the LES. The apartment was in a great location...right near the subway. It's also conveniently located above shops on the fringe of Chinatown. As many have already said, the fish market in the same building creates unpleasant odours which circle through the apartment/block. Thanks for having us Jake...see you next time!

  • Our trip to NY was very last minute and Jake was very accommodating with such short notice. His apartment was clean and comfortable, and Jake was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and was easily accessible throughout our stay. The apartment building has a roof top terrace and is located directly across from a subway stop for easy access to the entire city. There are also cafes and restaurants and coffee shops within a block or two. Thank you Jake for sharing your apartment.

  • Beautiful downstairs apartment, renovated and stylish. Nada was so nice and ready to help when needed. PROS: Beautiful clean apartment Very nice and helpful host Easy communication and booking Good Value Cons We had a bit of an ant issue, but that can't always be helped We didn't feel the safest at night. Therefore we ALWAYS took an Uber if it was even dusk Loud neighbours...Loud street (as in neighbours)

  • Nada's apartment is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. The apartment is even nicer than it looks in the pictures. Very short 10 minute walk to trains. Locals are all very friendly and helpful. Nada's was great, she responded to all our questions very quickly. Would recommend this apartment.

    Andi2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nada was so helpful and responded quickly to all questions I had. The area was very nice and there are great coffee shops close by! The apartment was very clean and modern. The living space was perfect for 4 people. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • This was a great spot. Very friendly neighborhood with plenty of great spots. I highly recommend Emaline's down the street for breakfast.

  • This is a very nice appartment in Brooklyn. We really enjoyed our stay. The metro is at 15 minutes walking distance and takes you to Midtown Manhattan in about 30 minutes. There are some very nice rrestaurants and cafes at 5 minutes walking distance and the area is safe and friendly. Also many little supermakets around the corner. The appartment itself is wonderful. We would come back here!

    Beer2016-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nada's apartment is spacious and modern and easy to access with her perfect instructions. The neighbourhood is cool with interesting restaurants and cafes. However, it is quite a walk to the nearest subway into Manhattan (15 mins - tough in August heat). Description and photos are accurate and the kitchen is well-equipped. We were very impressed by Nada's quick, efficient responses to our queries and the welcome info she provided was excellent, especially restaurant recommendations. The outiside space is lovely! If you're visiting in the summer, be aware that there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms.

    Hannah2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. A bit of a walk to the subway, around 15 - 20 mins max but was fine. Area outside is lovely at all times in the day, lively neighbours sometimes even add some music which was nice. Amazing host, so attentive, great communication. Would have been great to have a guestbook as we could leave some recommendations, that was the only downfall not being able to share all the gems we found.

    Michaela2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time during our visit, especially knowing that we had a comfortable place to call home after long days of sight-seeing. Instructions to find the place and check-in/check-out were exactly as described and easy to follow. Highly recommend Nada’s place for anyone looking to immerse yourself in the Brooklyn aesthetic.

Enjoy this cozy, colorful, second bedroom in hip Williamsburg! Our cozy apartment is just a quick 20 minute train ride from downtown Manhattan, and the neighborhood boasts an array of bars, restaurants, and shops.
We're renting out our second bedroom in Williamsburg. This charming room has a full size bed and a courtyard-facing window. It is quiet, spacious, and colorfully decorated. The entire apartment was gut renovated in June 2013 and it's located in a beautiful, clean pre-war building. Both the kitchen and bathroom have all-new appliances and fixtures. The kitchen boasts exposed brick and a sunny, courtyard-facing window. The entire apartment gets plenty of natural sunlight all day, and is breezy in the afternoons.
Our apartment is located in the heart of Williamsburg, right near two different subway stops. We're within easy walking distance of Metropolitan Avenue, Grand Street, and Union Avenue, all of which are bustling with shops, restaurants and bars, grocery stores, delis, laundromats, anything you might need. You'll also be a short train ride into the city as well. 20 minutes from Manhattan, the apartment is conveniently located between the J and M at Hewes and the L and G at Lorimer. Both subway stations are within 3-5 minutes walking distance. For those with a car, the BQE is just a few blocks away.
  • Megan is a super host and the flat really well located, thank you !

    Laurie2018-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was a fantastic host. She was flexible with our check-in time and the bedroom was immaculate when we arrived. Her apartment is in a great location where it's very easy to access all the cool spots in Brooklyn as well as Manhattan. Megan allowed us to leave our bags in the apartment after we checked out since our flight wasn't until later that night. She let us keep the keys until we came and picked up our bags, so we didn't have to lug them around during our last day in NYC. This was extremely helpful! To top it all off, Megan was kind enough to leave us a couple of bakery treats as a send-off. Needless to say, we had a great stay at Megan's and would highly recommend it!

    Katie & Matt2015-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Megan's. It's a great flat and is really well positioned for the Williamsburg bars and shops. The subway is just a few blocks away with a ten minute ride to Manhatten. We met Megan briefly when we arrived as she was away for the weekend but in the short time she was very accommodating and friendly. Recommended!

    David2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Room was great, the neighbourhood is nice, The subway is quite near and the apartment wasn't hard to find. Also, Megan was a nice host.

    Marina2014-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place! The room is as pretty and comfortable as in the pictures! Many facilities were highly appreciated, wifi and ipad to plan our day trips, storage in bathroom, use of fridge, ... The apartment is ideally located also: next to a grocery, close to many nice bars and restaurants and easy access to Manhattan (short walk to L and M line and subway!). Megan and Andy were very friendly, welcoming and definitely respecting privacy. Me and my sister enjoyed our stay in Williamsburg a lot, and we'd like to recommend this room!

    Laura2015-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Megan's place. It was very nice/clean and had an artsy feel (we loved her origami decorations!). The location was perfect, just a few blocks to many subway stops and near some local cafes. Megan had arranged for keys pickup late at night and we got spare keys, which made it very easy to get in and get out of the apartment. It was also very easy to get in touch with her and she was very fast to reply with our questions. We would definitely stay at her place again!

  • Megan made me feel at home. I enjoyed staying here.

    Bella2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Megan’s place is the most stylish space I’ve ever stayed at for an Airbnb. She had all of the amenities you could ask for and the bedroom was super clean. It was an easy commute to Manhattan - about 20-30 minutes average by subway. Megan also offered suggestions for coffee shops around the area and was very easy to communicate with throughout our stay.

This listing is for a private loft space in a SHARED apartment in a 1-FLOOR WALKUP. The loft is suitable for 2 people. The loft is up a flight of STEEP STAIRS in the apartment. The loft ceiling is ONLY 5 FEET HIGH.
We're offering a space in our lovely little shared 1-bedroom apartment with a private loft on the Upper West Side. It's close to the Subway and Central Park, and walking distance from Times Square. The building is quintessential New York, 100 years old with hardwood floors, brick fireplaces, a classic staircase, and great city life views. The loft space is above the kitchen, up a set of stairs. The staircase may be steep for some, but it is manageable. The queen-sized bed comfortably fits 2 people. The loft ceiling is only 5 feet high and the loft doesn't have much clothes storage, but it is private and quiet. It's great for sitting and sleeping - and besides, who comes to NYC to hang out inside? ;) NOTE: THE LOFT IS A SPACE IN A SHARED APARTMENT. IT IS NOT THE WHOLE APARTMENT. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A COMPLETE APARTMENT BY YOURSELF. NOTE: THE CEILING IN THE LOFT IS ONLY 5 FEET HIGH. NOTE: THE LOFT IS UP A STEEP SET OF STAIRS. NOTE: THE APARTMENT IS A 1-FLOOR WALKUP. If you're interested in renting the bedroom in this apartment, check out our profile for more info.
We have an amazing location close to the Subway, Times Square, Lincoln Center, the Hudson River, and Central Park. You can get to all the best NYC attractions in less than 15 minutes on the Subway. There are tons of great bars, restaurants, and markets within walking distance.
  • Kevin was an excellent host! Everything you want in an AirBNB host: welcoming, honest, he gave up expectations up front and even some recommendations for our stay in NYC, and then left us alone with a number to call if we needed him! The place was comfortable and clean! The convenience the location was excellent!

    Matthew2015-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location for us was just perfect. We really enjoyed walking around in the neighborhood and it was very close to a subway. Unfortunayely Kevin was not home, but we felt very welcome either way. The place had everything we breder for cooking, doing laundry and stuff like that. We would highly recommend Kevins place.

    Line2015-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful experience staying here at Kevin's place! The apartment was very clean and the location was absolutely perfect! I will plan on staying here again!

    Lorraine2015-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • We met a friend of the host and were welcomed by her and the other guests staying the main room. The location was perfect, in our favorite part of Manhattan. The rooms were clean and great for our two night stay.

    Aubrey2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • I spent four nights in NYC and I can totally recommend staying with Kevin. He is a really great host - very friendly and very helpful, even showing me around the neighborhood. The apartment is also really nice and very well connected to subway, Hudson River, Central Park etc. I would definitely go again!

    Sven2012-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very convenient place for us to travel around. Nice place.

    Arjun2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Kevin’s was truly a great experience. He is very hospitable and a timely communicator. He will literally give you the coat off his back if you need it! Great location right next to the subway and Gray’s Papaya in the Upper West side.

    James2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I were greeted by Van, who was very nice and provided a lot of information upon our arrival. We stayed in the LOFT. The listing is described accurately with some things to point out - the ceiling is low, a little less than 5 feet; there is NO closet space to hang or place clothes, you'll be living out of your suitcase; you might get a few shin bruises climbing up and down the narrow/small stairs; you are directly under another apartment, and if you are a light sleeper, you will hear a lot of footsteps and doors close early in the morning and late at night (when I asked Kevin if this was typical, he called back within the hour and said he'd buy us earplugs for the evening - I appreciated his prompt responses!). The neighborhood is great; the location is fantastically close to everything you need, most importantly the subway (ll probably be willing to pay a bit more for another apartment next time due to limited space and overall cleanliness of the loft/apartment.

Beautiful large loft in the heart of Chelsea and Union Square. By museums, Greenwich Village, close to the water, and steps away from every major subway line in NYC. Great bars, clubs, and restaurants, as well as shopping within walking distance. Comfortable queen size bed in the loft and a great twin daybed in the main space fits 3 easily. Plenty of light and charm. It is on the 4th floor of a walk-up.
  • This is the cutest loft and exactly as described. It's within a block or so of the subway and bus stops. Within easy walking distance of shopping and restaurants. I had no trouble getting around the city on my first trip to NYC. The bed under the window was so comfortable! And the shower has AMAZING water pressure! I will definitely be back!

    Sarah2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a quick, one night stay, but this place was perfect!

    Jenna2018-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very convenient location and good size for one or two staying in the city but cleanliness needs to be a priority. Dusty surfaces and the bathroom smelt damp. Also the fridge didn’t work.

    Kristina2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, excellent communication, smooth check in, and my fav neighborhood. Loved this space.

    Richard2018-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Easy instructions to get into unit but unfortunately unclean. Was unable to use the shower due to the heavy amount of black mold.

    Stephanie2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place is just as he describes and the perfect location to be easily accessible across Manhattan. It is a standard NY style loft apartment - big by NY standards, small for suburban folk. We had my mother-in-law with us and she was plenty comfortable. The shower was hot and the kitchen served well for us to make breakfast everyday - all the minimal items necessary. It was 90 degrees F in NYC during our stay, and even still, as long as we put on the A/C and fan for an hour before bed, we were cool enough to sleep. The fan blows the hot air out of the loft and the A/C cools it. Very close to a fancy neighborhood market and the metro, as well as any sight you may eat to see in the city. Check in was easy with all the instructions provided. Would stay here again.

    Rebecca2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The flat of Paul is very central located within manhatten. It has 3 different metro stations just around the corner. You are at Time Square within 15 minutes for example. The flat is very quiet and everything necessary is available like a Hair Dryer for example. We can definetly recommend it for a visit in New York. The only point that we felt uncomfortable with was the black molt in the shower.

    Jasmin2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is perfect if you need a spot to just lay your head for the night. It was very conveniently located and Paul was very descriptive on how to obtain the keys and was willing to answer any questions you had. The bagel shop underneath was a great plus too! I will definitely look to stay here again on my next trip!

One of the best locations for a fun NY trip. The apartment is nice but not a 5 Star Hotel room.
This is most probably the best spot in Soho. You are in the middle of everything: steps from eclectic Chinatown and Nolita with small boutiques and restaurants. At the same time you are in Soho with high end stores and all entertainment you need. The apartment is located on Kenmare Square with the hippest bars and restaurants. There is a small park in front of the building. The apartment has two bedrooms and one bathroom. To get to the bathroom you need to go through one of the bedrooms - please consider this. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and a nice living room. Wireless Internet, Aircondition (there in one big AC unit in the living room - it will cool down the whole apartment nicely - there is no additional unit in the bedroom) etc.. There is original art from my gallery on the walls. The apartment is in a old building and by no means like a 5 Start Hotel, it is a nice old NY apartment and we do love it. It is lived in and therefore definitely not perfect. The apartment is a walkup - there is no elevator in the building. If you stay at our apartment you will get the best of Downtown NY. Also you are 1/2 block from the green 6 subway on Spring Street. Starbucks is also 1/2 block so fresh coffee is no problem. Very Important: I mentioned this before in the description. This is not a newly renovated apartment. It is by no means perfect. Please do not expect a Hotel experience. This is a private apartment with all it downs and ups. If you want a perfect place this is not for you. I do want to manage expectations. I say that because I had lately 2 guests who were not happy with the condition of the apartment. Personally I don't think their criticism was fair since I very clearly describe the apartment - however if you come to NY I want you to have a great experience in our apartment and not to be frustrated. Of course I change frequently things which needed changing (new pillows, new chairs, new coffee pot etc.) but I can not transfer it to a new apartment with all new furniture.
Soho is probably one of the best shopping areas in the world with a beautiful and authentic architecture. At the same time you are steps from more eclectic neighborhoods like Lower Eats Side and China Town. From the location you can basically walk anywhere in Downtown.
  • Great stay perfect location and Arne was great to deal with. Would definitely stay here again!

    Claire2013-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the location and feel of this apartment. Arne was away but left us all the information we needed and a contact if we ran into trouble. We loved out holiday here.

    Charlie2014-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Arne was great with communication, although he had traveled overseas, stayed in good contact. My reservation was last minute, and he was able to accommodate my needs. I was running a little late, due to traffic coming into the city and he had someone hold the key for me. The place is right in SoHo and is perfect for your time in the city. The floors could use a little work, but outside of that, the place is decent and I would stay again, thank you for having me Arne.

    Edem2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and the pictures are exactly as the apartment looked like. We really loved it and we had a great time. Arne left a very good address book that help us a lot. We will loved to come back again with our two kids. Thanks a lot....

  • We enjoyed staying in the apartment a lot, the location is great and we'd love to come back. The view over the park is very nice and the subway very close by.

  • Lovely apartment

    Yue2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location for Arne's place was great, it was very easy to get to the subway, very walkable neighborhood with lots of great restaurants and amazing shopping for blocks all around this apartment. Very good pizza place just two doors down and 24 hour Walgreens a few doors down in other direction. Really easy to get to/from airport using Uber and close to all the cool neighborhoods in New York. Apartment was very clean, older building but unit has been updated, bathroom in great condition, beds very comfortable. Didn't use the kitchen but looked nice. Things to know, if you are a light sleeper, this probably isn't the place for you, as I said the building is older and heating system can't be regulated and it gets hot in the unit so have to open windows and let in air as well as all the outside noise. There isn't anything that can be done about this so just something to be aware of. I had a couple of questions while there and Arne was quick to respond with answers. Overall, Arne is a great host, very accommodating, would recommend staying at his place.

Apartment share on a quiet street in a lively neighborhood, this 2nd-fl walk-up is just blocks from NYU, Washington Sq Pk, SoHo, and Lower East Side. Grab Michelin-rated sushi or $3 PBRs within 50 feet (15 m) of the front door. East Village diversity at its finest.
Your large bedroom has a queen size mattress with a memory foam topper that is very comfortable. There's also a full-size air mattress for one extra guest. The room gets a lot of light from the large windows. The curtains and blinds keep it nice and dark at night. You will have access to the living room, kitchen, and bathroom. There is wi-fi, an Apple TV, cable TV and everything you need to feel right at home. The bedroom faces a rear courtyard, so street noise is minimal to non-existent. You may hear an occasional garden party. If they get too loud, let me know and I'll take care of it.
The East Village is socially and culturally diverse without being pretentious. New York's immigrant origins, 70s punk scene, and current food renaissance all energetically coexist in the East Village like nowhere else in Manhattan. You can seriously get Michelin-rated sushi or three-dollar PBRs within 50 feet (15 m) of the front door. Its residents, an unlikely mix of businesspeople, artists, laborers, designers, and nomads anachronistically make themselves at home among Old New York's Gilded Age and Pre-war brick-and-stone architectural hand-me-downs. Midtown's steel-and-glass landscape and the West Village's yuppie homogeneity haven't invaded the East Village...yet.
  • Sne is a five-star host. He greeted me warmly, carried my bags, and offered terrific restaurant recommendations. He also kept me engaged in wonderful conversation. He made a quick trip to NYC very memorable.

  • I would 100% recommend this room. Sne is a super host, who was very welcoming and open to conversation. The apartment is very well located in New York City!

    Emilie2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sne's place! He was very friendly and welcoming and had a lot of useful tips for our trip in New York. I can definitely recommend staying at his place and would book it again, if I come back to New York some day.

    Peter2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sne is the MAN! His guests before us checked out at 4am and my girlfriend and I were arriving at 8am just to drop off our bags. Sne stayed up all morning to get our room prepared and was nice enough to allow us to check in a few hours early. Since our flight was a red eye, we took a 4 hour snooze in the comfy bed and explored the east village in the afternoon. In the evening, we enjoyed the scenery on the rooftop of the apartment where Sne gave us some really great advice on what to check out on our three day stay. Sne also has this awesome mini guidebook that also gets into detail of what to check out. The apartment is extremely close to all public transportation stations that will take you anywhere you want to go in New York. Our stay with Sne was awesome and we couldn't have been happier staying at his clean pristine apartment. Next time I'm in NY, I'm definitely staying at Sne's.

    Kim2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • What an AMAZING first experience in New York for me! I booked Sne's place last minute and was fortunate enough to have him host us. The apartment is located in East Village. The apartment is clean and tidy. The private room is spacious, has A/C, and a comfy queen size bed. The room is much bigger in person than photos provided. The neighborhood is very diverse, multifaceted, and vivacious. All walks of life, literally. I love it! For all the foodies, there are tons of nearby restaurants, dessert parlors, and bars. The apartment is also near public transportation; subways and buses. Sne is one to keep for the books! Super friendly guy and easy to communicate with. Upon arrival, he greeted me with a smile and helped carry my luggage up to the apartment. He offered fresh pour-over/drip coffee! That says it all coming from a coffee aficionado. He is very flexible as far as check-in and check-out time. Just give him an advance notice. He's very helpful at suggesting places to eat and cool attractions to check out. To conclude, Sne was very welcoming and made us felt like we were at home. Don't hesitate to ask about anything. Sne will have an answer. I highly recommend Sne's place. Great host. Great location. Great experience. 5 stars. Thanks Sne for everything!

    Phong2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sne was great and super flexible -- we had to change our arrival time several times and he couldn't have been nicer. He was there to greet us and make us feel welcome, but then gave us privacy for the rest of the night and morning after. The apartment was extremely clean and attractive, the bedroom was large and quiet, and the bed was really comfortable. He included all sorts of little extras like personal care products and a pitcher of water infused with cucumber in our room.

    Karen2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sne- My friends and I stayed with Sne for Halloween weekend and he made sure we had an amazing time. As soon as we arrived we were blown away by Sne’s incredible hospitality. He went out of his way to help us with directions, finding parking, unloading our luggage, and immediately made sure we were comfortable at his place. His home was super clean and even better it was advertised. We couldn’t believe how charming the neighborhood was. We never felt unsafe, even coming home late at night and had great experiences at the restaurants, bars, and cafes right outside Sne’s door. We originally were going to book a hotel but decided to stay with Sne and it was the best decision we made on the trip! I will be staying there when I go back!

Welcome to the small CHATEAU IN THE TREES. This is a charming and as quiet as you can get Studio Apt with a European (French) Style of Decor in the Heart of the East Village. The windows look out into a very lush double yard with so many wonderful trees it almost could be a Bird Sanctuary. You hear no traffic what so ever just Birds chirping away and the sound of the tress swaying in the wind truly special for any city especially New York City. The apt faces south so you get plenty of light.
I grew up in NYC and this is the quietest apartment I have ever had. All the trees out the window are a rare find and creates such a peaceful setting. I have never heard so many birds before in NYC. Its a symphony of song in the morning. The apartment has a Queen size bed and a very wide modern Couch that turns into a Bed for a single person by moving the single portion of the couch to the bottom part of the love seat portion of the Couch to create a long comfortable Bed. I hope you will enjoy the decor it has a european feel towards the French side. You will be in the heart of the East Village considered by most to be the most exciting part of NYC. Right out the door you will have everything at your feet. Enjoy have fun and please be respectful of the neighbors and keep the noise down to a minimum in the apartment.
This is the East Village one of the most dynamic, exciting and energetic neighborhoods of the world. In the heart of down town Manhattan. The best of everything NYC has to offer is just a step out the door. Enjoy!!
  • This is one of the best Airbnbs I’ve experienced. Probably the best, for its size and price. Cool decor (if you like old word Euro stuff), thoughtfully appointed, and immaculately clean. One thing that was a bit of a challenge for me personally was that the heating ran quite hot and dry overnight, which gives me a headache. I woke in the night to open the window, which helped. Again - amazing place - I would be happy to stay there again. Regularly.

  • Exactly like the photos and in a great position to explore all of what New York has to offer. Near to great bars and restaurants too!

  • Chateau in the Trees provided an excellent respite from the city. The trees just outside the window, and the light filtered through them made for a peaceful setting. The apartment was spotless, and had exactly what we needed for our stay. Communication was excellent, bed was comfortable, and there were great places to eat nearby. Great space for two people for three or four nights, but solo someone could really be comfortable here for much longer.

  • I didn't really know what to expect when opening the door to this bijou apartment in the East Village, but I was absolutely blown away! It is beautifully decorated in soothing colors and fabrics, perfect use is made of the limited space and the view onto the leafy garden is breathtaking. Everything was perfectly arranged and the instructions very helpful. The neighborhood is vibrant and retains some of its former bohemian flavor and is perfect for exploring all of lower Manhattan. A small treasure!

  • Great place in a great neighborhood. Stefanie is also a great host that responds quickly (especially if you happen to forget mom's homemade treats in the fridge). Thanks Stefanie!

    Brian2017-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I really enjoyed staying at Stefanie’s charming studio. It was even cuter in person than in the photos. Great style, clean, organized, tons of great spots to eat & drink nearby, super easy check-in and check-out process. Definitely a great spot to stay!

  • I have no words - It is the best Airbnb I have ever visited! In 10 mins you are at Time Square and the buses run all the time. The street where the airbnb is, is just next to the skyline of Manhattan so you can enjoy an amazing view. The apartment itself is equipped with everything what your heart needs. Additionally, Jason is a really helpfull and nice person, our stay couldn't have been better! Thank you so much!

  • e absolutely loved our stay at Jason’s. He was there to greet us. The place was wonderful. To our surprise everything was renovated and new. The apartment was very well decorated and equipped with all the accessories necessary to have a comfortable stay. The location is fabulous. It is conveniently located half a block away from the main road with the best view of NYC’s skyline across the Hudson River. The bus stop is on that main road and it is a close ride into the city’s Port Authority where you can connect to pretty much any train Or if you are more adventurous you can walk down to the Ferry. You can also rent a car in the Ferries building needed for a one day trip. If you are into cooking at home a few blocks away you can find mom and pop stores to do your groceries. And a few more blocks down great international eateries. Fun time! We highly recommend Jason's place. Two thumbs up! Thank you Jason

Our neighborhood is a quiet residential area within East Williamsburg. Just one or two stops on the subway and you can brunch and bike away the day and lounge and drink away the night in Williamsburg's infinitely hip warehouse-turned-loft Brooklyn neighborhood. Williamsburg is a food, drink, and music lover’s paradise. This ultra-trendy neighborhood completes its super cool repertoire with alternative-looking street art and two-story murals. Ask me for my list of neighborhood favorites!
  • We were a little disapointed the apartment wasn't quite as nice as it looks in the pictures but we soon got over that. The apartment was clean private and sunny, large enough for 5 adults to sleep and feel comfortable. Its located a short block to the subway and a fast ride to Manhatten we were very pleased with the location.Amia Was a delightful host and very helpful with recomandations for area restaurants and shopping. We all enjoyed our stay.Greg, Lidia and family.

  • My 3 friends and I had a great time at Amia's place in Brooklyn. Her apartment is exactly as pictured. Amia was a great host - very communicative and helpful! The 24hr health food store right across the street is ideal. The subway is literally around the corner and there are lots of cute coffee shops nearby.

    Alison2012-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were a party of 4 and stayed here for 5 nights very comfortably. The apartment is extremely clean, spacious and light, and in a really great location, with nice diners/shops/bars close by. Also great to benefit being so close to an L train stop (Montrose Ave). Would definitely recommend.

    Meghan2011-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was a great little home away from home for our two weeks in NYC. It was close to great bars (hello Duck Duck), great coffee (hello Cup) and amazing food (hello Bushwick Pita Palace) and superclose to the L train and a short walk to other lines. The size and amenitites in the apartment were perfect for us, and we found Amia to be a great host. If I find myself back in Brooklyn anytime soon (and I hope its soon) I would definitely stay here again!

    Holly2012-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was my and my husband's first airbnb experience and we will surely do this again. Amia Yokoyama provided us with everything we needed in her apartment and e-mailed extensive lists of exceptionally helpful information about the neighborhood and NYC in general. The apartment was clean, and conveniently located near subways, organic groceries, an excellent pizzeria, etc., and the beds comfortable, including the large, inflatable mattress slept on by our granddaughter. Our stay exceeded any of our expectations.

    Martha2014-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amia was a helpful and responsive host. Thank you!

    Kendrick2012-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amia was a good host in advance of our visit, answering our questions promptly and providing lots of information about how to get to the flat and amenities in the local area. When we got there we were pleased with the location, in particular its closeness to Montrose metro station and to all the fun that Grand Street has to offer. From Montrose station, Manhattan is only a 15 minute train ride. The flat has two comfortable beds, a good shower and a clean, well-provisioned kitchen. Unfortunately, the flat also has two problems, which need to be fixed before anyone else should consider staying in it. Most important of these is the bathroom, where the door does not close because half of the door-frame is missing. Not having the privacy of a bathroom door you can close is a pretty fundamental issue and one we should have been made aware of before we booked the flat. In addition, the air-conditioning unit in one room was broken so that it essentially became a hole in the wall through which cold air was able to blow all night. A blanket sellotaped over it solved the issue, but this kind of fix should not have been necessary. Overall, this is a good flat for those who want a clean and private base of operations to explore Manhattan while also enjoying Brooklyn, but I would not recommend staying there until the issues above have been addressed.

  • Michael is fantastic and Haarlem more that we could have hoped for. The apartment was cosy and authentic, our home away from home. We loved coming home to it every night after hectic first timers days downtown. The restaurants and vibe in Haarlem was one of the highlight of our NY experience. Did I say Michael is fantastic?

    Gina2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Michael is one of the most positive and welcoming hosts that I have encountered through Airbnb. He was very flexible with our needs (check-in/out) and made us feel happy and relaxed throughout our stay. The apartment was very clean and beautifully organized, with food stocked when we wanted to eat in, clean towels, awesome hair dryer, q-tips, shampoo, soap, extra blankets for warmth etc., etc., etc. His apartment and his personality as our host made our short trip to NYC stress-free and set a bright tone to our trip from beginning to end!

    Jo2014-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Michael is an excellent host. He has plenty of towels, he even had Castille Peppermint soap. Michael had the refrigerator packed with water, juice, fruit, and muffins. He had waffles in the freezer for breakfast. Michael made us feel welcome, like we were visiting family. The subway is on 125th street, 4 blocks away. Sylvia's is about a 5 minute walk from Brownstone, pioneer grocery is right around the corner on Lennox. Neighborhood corner store on 129th and Lennox have great philly steak sandwiches and they are open late. 10 minutes from Apollo on 125th. The 2 and 3 train will take you to town square in about 15 minutes. The neighborhood is safe and you are able to walk around safely late at night. The deck is great and the squirrels are friendly. I would definitely stay again. I had the best time in New York and staying at Michael's was an added bonus. PS he even has umbrellas available if it starts raining.

    Linda2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was very cordial and very attentive to our needs. Always willing to help . The apartment is perfect for a comfortable and convenient stay in NY . It is near 125 av, the central axis and heart of Harlem and very close to the subway that allow you to connect to all Manhatan very easy. Is complete , comfortable and clean. The shower and towels were perfectly clean and perfumed. Michael left the refrigerator full of food and snacks that our kids enjoyed . The terrace is lovely and every morning squirrels visited us. I definitely recommend this apartment and in my next stay in NY I will surely go there.

    Mariana2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Michael is an incredibly friendly and likeable host. He provided everything for us and more. The apartment was clean and beautiful and we enjoyed spending time on the outside deck. Would recommend.

Location, Location, Location! This apartment is located smack in the middle of Manhattan. Just a few minutes walk from times square and all major subway lines. You can get anywhere in the city from here in 15 minutes. 3 minutes from Javitz Center

This is an ideal neighborhood for travelers to the city. Is in the center of Manhattan and you can walk to Times square. All major subways are near by as well as Penn Station and Port Authority to get in an out of the city.
  • Jay's apartment was very central and easy to get in and out of since the building has a private entrance from 9th avenue. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen has most essentials for two people. The bad parts were since the apt is facing 9th Ave it's a bit loud from street noise. Also it's an old building, so the heat makes a lot of noise. The house wasn't very clean, with a lot of dust throughout the house and mold in the shower. We had a couple of issues with lights blowing out and the toilet not working but they were taken care of quickly by Jay.

    Alicia2017-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jay's place because it was convenient: close to where we needed to be and the train. It was clean, Jay was communicative, and as other guests noted, the apartment was basic and could use some updating (particularly bathroom sink), hallway smells of cigarettes, and the garbage trucks are quite noisy at night. Otherwise, it was what we expected for a night in midtown. We appreciated the blackout curtains and wifi. Thanks!

    Judi2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable bed, convenience to 9th Avenue and the convention center and a taste of living in Manhattan.

    Joe2018-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with great location. Only issue was the street noise and radiator noise from heating.

    Shuwei2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Although we didn't get to meet, Jay was a great communicator, easy to organise pick up of keys and get into loft. Quick cab ride from Grand Central station. Good loft for a quick stay. Good price! Comfortable King bed, clean sheets. Amenities need a bit of an up date, but all in all a good stay. Thank you Jay.

    Grace2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Jason's place! The location was incredibly close to everything, it was right in the middle of everything! The apartment was comfortable and suited our needs. It also gave us a really taste of NYC living. The only possible downside for some people might be the noise from the street. But this didn't bother as at all, it adds to the atmosphere of a NYC lifestyle! The communication with Jason was great! He responded also straight away! If you want to really experience NYC, and it's lifestyle this place is amazing!

    Glenn2016-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, Jay made the process very easy. Overall, excellent experience. If you are going to Manhattan, do yourself a favor and book Jay's place if it's available...you won't regret it!

    William2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jay's place is amazing and a wonderful location. It's about a 15 minute walk to/from Penn Station, which made it very convenient, and the place is quite charming. I loved the exposed brick wall of the apartment! Thanks, Jay!

  • Joe is a very nice host. He provided a useful map and guided me on the fastest ways to use the subway. Great choice of stay!

  • JJ is an excellent host and after experiencing his beautiful apartment in Harlem as my first time using Air BnB I have no regrets what so ever. A short subway ride into Manhattan and very close to the subway. Also not a expensive cab ride to Manhattan if that's your preference. Great amenities and host

    Justin2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Joe was very helpful. He took our bags up stairs and provided us with knowledge of the area and also the public transport. The subway is a short walk away and takes you to practically anywhere in the city. I would recommend staying here if your on a budget.

  • I stayed at Joe's place with my partner and it was a really spontaneous disicion to go to NYC! Joe was kind, helpful and nice. He helped us with the luggage and gave us some good tips where to go in the City. He offered us breakfast and coffee and all in all it was a very good experience at this place. We enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend his place. He gives you time for yourself but is also there if you need him! Thank you Joe :)

    Lena2014-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Joe was courteous, welcoming and available to explain anything that might have needed explaining. The room was clean, and the location convenient. I think I got quite a good deal here. :)

    Alex2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Joe is very accommodating. If you need something, Joe probably already has it ready for you, and if he doesn't, he would probably get it for you. He also is very familiar with New York and willing to give any tips for traveling. Location is pretty good, close to the subways. Only complaint was that it was a little noisy in my room due to things going on outside, Joe provides ear plugs, but they fell out while I was sleeping. Everything else was good.

    Vincent2015-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Joe was a nice host. He was very flexible for the check-in and check-out. The apartment is huge, so you can have some privacy. The rooms are comfortable, clean and warm. Location is great, closed to public transports (subway A and 3, buses) and stores. I definitely would stay there again!

    Mariannick2013-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first time AIRBNB experience and Joe's hospitality helped me enjoy the city in every possible way. The clean, tidy and private room is a decent start, then he showed me how the city metro works and the best place to go during day time, what else? He signed me up for Good Morning America Studio Audience Show, which is the best gift I can imagine for a tourists. No wonder his review is that good. If you are trying to find a place to stay in the city, Joe's is your no second choice!!!

  • Mark is a great host, easy to comunicate with and gives a warm welcome. He was very flexible with my checking in and out. It was exactly what I needed for one night, good location, and a place to put my head - nothing fancy. The room is the living room separated by a folding screen, it does the trick.

  • My boyfriend and I were only in the city for a single night but we were so lucky to find Mark's listing and spend that night at his place. We had tickets to a show at the Beacon Theatre and appreciated the short walk from Mark's place to the venue. He's a wonderful host who knows the area really well and can recommend tons of things to see and do. He's also just a really cool guy and we'll definitely look to stay with him when we're in New York next.

  • Mark is a great host- generous, compassionate, and welcoming. He met me on the stoop to help carry my suitcase up the 5 flights. The apartment was welcoming - bed great and M ark is very helpful with information about New York. I felt very welcome and will try to come again!

  • For my son's high school graduation present, I gave him the gift of New York. It's a trip he always dreamed about and Mark made that dream a reality with his fabulous pad and kind, knowledgeable hospitality. My son traveled with his BFF, and Mark was prompt and caring in his communication with The Mom (me!) and with the boys. The boys absolutely loved the accommodations, location and Mark's kindness and availability in making their trip safe, fun, and beyond memorable. And as The Mom, I always knew my son and his friend were in the best of hands with Mark as their host. We are already planning another trip to NY for my son and his brother, and we will definitely book with Mark again. He is fabulous and if you get a chance to stay at his place, DO IT! Thank you, Mark!

  • Mark is a friendly host. He helped us carry our bags to 5th floor, provided lots of information and allowed us to leave our bags at the apartment after check out. The location is great. Lots of restaurants and shops around. The bed is comfortable.

  • Great hospitality, Mark is very friendly and also gives you the privacy you’d want! He has great tips on how to save money and the city in general. Friendly neighborhood and perfect location right next to Central Park. Would definitely recommend!

  • My host made me feel right at home by introducing me to the neighborhood which the Upper West Side is nothing but the best. I walked the area and he laid out the foregrounds of the apartment which was to make me feel comfortable and wanting me to come back and stay again.

  • Mark was available by phone when I called to let him know we had arrive downstairs and we got in immediately. Great location for going anywhere in Manhattan since it's just a block to the #1 subway line running north-south through Manhattan. It's also a great neighborhood to walk in, a very short walk to lots of places to eat and to Riverside Park, which is very peaceful. We could not have been happier.
