New York Vacation Rentals

Just booked in New York

Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • Maria and Azul were incredibly nice and the apartment was fantastic. Everything as promised.

    Scott2014-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Maria's apartment for a week. It was great proximity to various bars and restaurants in Williamsburg. It was also very close to the trains into Manhattan! Overall great stay and wonderful apartment!

    Nathaniel2013-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just back from a wonderful stay at Maria's cabin in the sky! This is a very charming and cozy apt with unique features: brick walls, wood floors, exposed beams, working fireplace and eclectic, comfortable furniture. The bed was also very comfortable with lovely linens, in a large and sunny bedroom. Although we didn't use the kitchen, (we were visiting family in the neighborhood), there's a wonderful working antique gas stove and it's well stocked with the essential spices and condiments. I can imagine eating a delicious dinner in front of the fire! Maria quickly responded to our initial request and her manager, Azul was there to welcome us and show us around. He's nearby and it was great to know he would be available if need be. The apt is located a block from the river and in a very vibrant and fun part of Williamsburg within walking distance to shops and restaurants and the subway. Parking was not a problem. I can highly recommend this choice. Give it a try-you won't be disappointed!!

  • It's a great place in a great location. Azul was great in helping us find the building and check in, The apartment was in great shape and everything was as promised.

  • My friends and I really enjoyed our stay in this place. It was a very lovely place in a great location with a bar right next door. Maria was very responsive and checked in with us via email during our stay. Her assistant was very helpful as well. The thermostat works well and the fireplace makes the place nice and cosy.

  • Our stay here was truly lovely. It's a great apartment at a great location. We felt home right away!

  • Maria's place was perfect for my god-daughter and I. Perfectly described, great taste, all amenities, great neighbourhood and superb communication. An ideal spot near the scenic waterfront to view sunset over Manhattan. Everything you need is nearby from great restaurants and bars to a well stocked supermarket, weekend flea market and food market. Highly recommended.

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 300+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life ! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy if you wish and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of the LES - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • Carol & Marc were such fantastic and welcoming hosts. The room & apartment were really lovely & comfortable. Thanks for welcoming us into your home, we would certainly stay again if we were in NY again

    Todd2015-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts, in a superbly decorated apartment in a brilliant part of town. Made our trip

    Alexander2014-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and how lucky were we to find such a gem. Carol and Marc were gracious hosts , friendly , welcoming and full of useful suggestions! The apartment is a beautiful space in a brilliant area - perfect for exploring New York and living life as a native New Yorker ! We will be back !

    Karen2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This trip was one of a lot of firsts for my wife and I. First time using AirBnB, first time in NYC, first time meeting Carol and Marc. As Texans who had never been to a city as big or busy as NYC, we were a bit nervous about the unknown. We could not imagine a better start to our stay than this was. We decided to stay here because of all of the fantastic reviews and every positive thing that we read was extremely accurate. The loft is beautiful, spacious (especially by NYC standards!), welcoming... perfect. Carol and Marc are both fantastic to talk to and extremely hospitable. The location: We stayed with Carol and Marc for the first few days of our trip and then moved to a different AirBnB - "Entire Apt" in the garment district (closer to Times Square) - because, being our first time in NYC, that is what we thought we wanted to do. We actually regretted this move fairly quickly as we lost the warming hospitality and advice that Marc and Carol gave us everyday. And 'living' close to Times Square was so stressful with the amount of people and tourists! Turns out the Lower East Side is our favorite part of NYC and we traveled back there on most days after we left. Also, as long as you are close to a subway entrance (which Carol and Marc's place is), you can get to anywhere you want to be very easily. Not simply if it's your first time with the NY subway system but Carol and Marc (and most New Yorkers) were extremely helpful. A little more detail about the inside of the loft: Along with your own room (obviously), you will have your own very nice bathroom and balcony area. I was worried about renting a room as opposed to an entire apartment because of the shared space. The setup here is perfect and we never once felt like we didn't have our privacy. In fact, we loved talking to Marc and Carol so much that we wish we would have seen them MORE! We are planning more trips to NYC because we had such a fantastic time. A large contributor to our fantastic vacation was staying here. We absolutely hope to stay here next time. Thank you Carol and Marc for a fantastic stay!!

    Ryan2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Carol and Marc's. the room and apartment are as lovely as the photos and the location is perfect for exploring NYC, but it was the hosts that made our stay! Thank you for all your helpful tips and making us feel so welcome, we hope to be back soon!

    Anisha2013-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Carol & Marc, their apartment, and the location, all made our 5 day New York visit a wonderful experience. Carol and Marc were perfect hosts, always helpful and sweet and really made us feel welcome. The apartment is great, really spacious and you have walking distance to pretty much everything you need to do in Manhattan. If your feet fail you, there is a subway station only a few minutes away. The room is nice, the bed comfortable and having a private bathroom gives a sense of luxury. Me and my wife will definitely stay here again when we visit NY in the future.

Cozy, warm atmosphere, perfect for the traveler looking for a real NY experience. This reservation is for one person. Best neighborhood in midtown Manhattan for the best price. In the hub of Hell's Kitchen nightlife, restaurants, theaters, museums. This is a smoking apartment.
Bedroom is small, but very comforting. Kitchen is HUGE with tons of sunlight and every spice you can imagine for all you chefs. Very easy going apartment- smoking is perfectly fine. Part of the apartment is an art workshop. Bathroom is large with skylight. Apartment is in back of the building, so the apartment is very quiet. An oasis in midtown. This reservation is for one guest.
Hell's kitchen is THE center of the entire city. Some of the best and affordable restaurants in the city, with any type of cuisine you could want. The apartment is walk able to virtually any subway line in the city. The neighborhood is in the center of the arts, with Times Square, Broadway theaters, and Central Park a stone's throw away. A vibrant nightlife and artist community with a neighborhood feel. Anything you're looking for is here!

  • Staying at Jeffrey's place was by far my most interesting (in a positive sense!) Airbnb experience. The apartment is full of character, Jeffrey himself is funny and very helpful (and a talented artist), and the location is great. Very highly recommended for a thoroughly original NY experience.

This is a comfortable studio apartment with exposed brick that has a true city feeling. This studio has a newly renovate bathroom and kitchen with stain steel appliances. The space fits four and is centrally located on a Historic quiet street. This unit is loaded with cable and wifi. Just blocks away from public transportation A and G train lines. And minutes away from the bus route B25 B26 and the B44. Come and explore the charm of Bed-Stuy and all the Historic's. I love this neighborhood.
    What
This historic section of Brooklyn is home to some of the most magnificent brownstones streets in the world, with charming architectural landmarks. There so many new restaurants and bars popping up in the area such as Peaches,Hot house,Royals, Saraghina, and Gallery.
  • I never got to stay at Michelle's apartment in Brooklyn due to extremely poor communication. Her messages were riddled with grammar and spelling errors, so I knew ahead of time I was in for it. Months in advance, she assured us that we could leave our bags with her after check out the following day while we explored the city prior to our flight. On the day we were supposed to check IN I realized I hadn't heard anything from her regarding check in (this was after our check in time), so I reached out -- she said she wasn't expecting us until 10pm (even though check in was at 1pm). She then said we couldn't actually leave our bags with her the next and she even said that she 'didn't say that before' (you could scroll up in the chat and see where she assured us that we could). She said someone else said that... hmm. Careful booking here.

    Myles2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's very considerate. Enjoy the stay here. Definitely recommend.

  • Love Brooklyn,

    Alf2017-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very well coming and confortable place, the location is good: from Brooklyn you can easly reach Manhattan.

    Matteo2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • super cute place and michelle was very friendly and accommodating with check in/out. highly recommend!

    kaia2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Good communication

    Nicola2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • The accuracy of the listing is almost exactly as it is posted. Most single bedrooms or studios will normally only have one bed. But for Michelle's home, she has an extra pull-out couch that was definitely useful. I think the only negative is that the flat is not fully soundproofed. But this is typical for most homes in this area. We dealt with this just fine as we weren't too tucked up in the home for long.

    Simon2017-07-30T00:00:00Z

  • A great sunny spot in one of the coolest areas of the city. Get out the building and you'll find whatever you need (and even much more). My first stay in NYC, the first of many! Word.

    Francesca2015-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Sunny Gem was a great place to stay! It is in a great location as it's a block away from the subway. There is also plenty of restaurants very close! It looked exactly like the pictures. We came in very late and got our keys no problem. Thanks Katherine!

    Danica2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is in a very nice newly renovated building in a very fun hip neighborhood. I had two main problems while I was there. The first is that the apartment was not very clean. There was blonde hair on the toilet seat when I arrived and hair in the shower. The rug is also stained in multiple places. My other problem was that the bed did not have a fitted sheet and the top sheet that was kind of just thrown on the bed had a huge hole in it which led not to a mattress pad but to an egg crate pad. If this apartment was $100 less a night I would find zero reason to complain but the cost was way to high to not be cleaned properly and not have proper bedding.

    Alyson2017-09-15T00:00:00Z

Great location for getting around, warm and comfortable bed, great shower, tidy and clean. Kevin was flexible with us leaving bags there until early evening so we could take advantage of the whole day sightseeing before heading to the airport. Thanks Kevin!

  • We enjoyed our time in Brooklyn. It was a nice apartment, and a great Brooklyn location. Kevin and Josh are very friendly, and were prompt to return when there was a room mix up. Overall, it was a good stay.

  • I stayed with a friend for 4 days at Kevin´s appartment and we felt absolutely welcome and comfortable. Kevin and his roommates were really friendly and helpful (how to get to the Metro,.....) and it was a pleasure meeting them. We felt safe in their neighbourhood and we can absolutely recommend other airbnb travellers to spend their time in New York at this location

  • Kevin was super flexible and accomodating in every aspect of our stay. The room and the entire apartment are absolutely flawless! The proximity to the metro and the vibe of the neighborhood added a lot to our experience, and I can definitely recommend the place! Communication and checkin was extremly smooth and everythign about the room was highly professional. The bathrooms were nice and clean, towels were provided and the bed was super comfy.

  • This was our first AirBNB experience, so naturally our biggest concerns simply involved the unknown of staying with strangers who we hoped were trustworthy. Kevin and his roommates quickly vanquished those fears, making us feel completely comfortable and safe in their home. They were eager to do whatever it took to make our stay pleasant. We found everything to be as advertised in the AirBNB listing. The room and living space were functional. We liked the NYC photo wall. But most importantly, there was AC in the room. Not sure if we could have slept in the NYC summer heat without it, so that was absolutely huge. I doubt you'll find a better deal or nicer hosts.

  • Kevin and Josh were great hosts. The room and the apartment was as is illustrated above. Everything clean, neat and comfortable. They helped us locate subway lines to move around the city and were friendly all the time.

  • Great place, very clean and looks just like pictures. Kevin and Josh were very accommodating. It was a smooth and easy check in and check out experience. I would stay here again as well as recommend others to stay here. Didn't get to meet Kevin in person, just Josh, but that didn't matter as Kevin was very responsive to any and all questions via text or email. Thanks guys!

  • Perfect spot next to the metro. Safe. Apartment is pretty nifty and clean. Would def stay here again. Can't be the price. Took us 20 mins to get to downtown Manhattan via metro. Kevin always responds quickly to any questions you have if he isn't around via the app or text. Awesome awesome host.

  • Kevin was fluent with communication before our trip, very clear on instructions and how to get into the apartment. The house has other guests staying in the other rooms at any given time so the fact your room has a locked door is very comforting, but be prepared for late night wake ups from other guests. Unfortunately being woken up at 1-2am every night wasn't the best,so bring ear plugs if you can. Communication stopped with Kevin after our arrival, but his housemate tony was more than happy to help us while we were there. The house is close to a deli, pizza place and the subway so it was easy for meals on the go and easy access to the city/coney island. All in all a great first trip to NYC on a budget. Would recommend and stay again :)

  • Agnes was a wonderful host. This was our first airbnb experience -and she set the bar quite high! She was extremely helpful with directions and tips for subways etc. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. We felt very safe in the building too. Agnes went above and beyond by having water bottles and snacks in our room as well as offering us a most generous breakfast selection from her kitchen. Subway stop is an easy walk around the corner from the apartment building. I would happily return to stay with Agnes again! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

    Mary Ann2014-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The neighboorhood is call and super well connected with the express line A going downtown. Agnes was very welcoming, many little détails made us feel at home, such as little biscuits and nuts in the room, bottles of water

    claire2014-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Agnes' place is really well located. We were able to hit all the tourist places in a quick 13-17 minutes subway trip (Central Park, Times Square, 9/11 Memorial, etc). The neighborhood had plenty restaurants and fast food places, lot's of them opened 24/7. The room was bigger than I thought and everything was clean. The stay was really good and Agnes is a wonderful person!

    Vinícius2014-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Agnes was more than great starting from I booked the room weeks prior by proving great communication to the very end when we left our amazing trip in New York. Our flight came in around 6am and even though "full check-in" wasn't until later (other guests still occupied the place), Agnes let us drop off our bags, clean up and chat a little before we headed out to explore before our long day. The apartment complex has old-school charm in a great way as well as the apartment itself. Everything was very clean and I noticed the bathroom was spotless every time I went in the next day. The room we had was excellent with plenty of space including a comfortable bed (I like firm), television and Agnes even provided an array of snacks, water, juices, coffee, soap, toothbrushes, etc in the room which was awesome. My friend and I felt extremely comfortable in the apartment and used the kitchen everyday for breakfast. We talked to Agnes when she was around and she is an awesome person to conversate with. Very calm, but passionate and well rounded in many areas so you can talk about almost anything. If you need any tips on places to eat or how to get around she will have them for you too. Very responsive via messages/text too, which I'm a big fan. The main bathroom (with shower/bath) is shared, but we never had an issue or wait when we were leaving for the day. It literally felt like a home away from home. I've used airbnb multiple times and this was my best experience using a shared space. I'm usually against it to be honest, but if all hosts are like Agnes and her place I'm open to it again :) We loved the location as well....literally one block away from the Train/Subway station (both express and local) to get you anywhere you want to go. One train can take you to many of the tourist sites, Central Park etc and we found this to be great. The airport was a simple Express train away as well as the AirTrain (must take this in and out of the airport) which was very convenient as well to save on taxi. Plenty of places to eat around (late too), groceries, and we came in late at night and had no feeling of being unsafe whatsoever anytime. The building is also locked and secured and to note has both stairs and an old style elevator (smoother than expected as I fear elevators). Overall, more than Excellent experience and my friend and I would recommend Agnes and her place in a heartbeat for a stay in New York. If I go back, I would hope to stay again.

  • Agnes was a great host and a lovely person. Thanks again for your hospitality.

    Rich2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Agnes was a very attentive host and the room was spacious and quiet. Agnes had provided lots of extra amenities such as various snacks and bottled water as well. The air conditioner worked well and the shared bathroom was clean. Agnes was also very kind and attentive about providing information about lots of things to see in New York City. Agnes also did not yell at us when we mistakenly went to the 7th floor (the roof) in trying to find her apartment and an enormously loud alarm sounded--at 2 am. I personally felt somewhat bad about having to wake Agnes up since we got in to NYC quite late, but she was gracious about it. As promised, the area was convenient to the subway and the express train made travel down to the main tourist areas quite quick.

    Jenifer2014-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Agnes is well organised and seems to pay particular attention to keeping the appartment clean. It also has excellent transport links to downtown Manhattan and a supermarket within short walking distance.

Large size bedroom with one full size bed and one twin size bed. It can accommodate up to three people.
The neighborhood does not have much to offer than its proximity to the airport and public transportation. A small deli is located up the road (walking away from airport on 94th less than a block away with homemade Dominican food) and the laundomat soon after. A 10 minute taxi ride to Astoria, New York. A lively, traditionally Greek and Italian neighborhood, Astoria, Queens, has over the past few decades seen an influx of Brazilians, Bangladeshis, Eastern Europeans, Colombians and Egyptians. Eat and drink your way through this diverse cultural legacy, from stuffed vine leaves and spinach pie in a Hellenic Taverna to a thick Turkish coffee and shisha pipe in “Little Egypt” (Steinway St between 28th Ave and Astoria Blvd), or a stein of Czech suds at the enduringly popular 1910 Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden. In the early days of cinema, Astoria was a major celluloid star, and Kaufman Astoria Studios—based in the old Paramount Pictures production HQ—carries on the movie making tradition, while the recently upgraded and expanded Museum of the Moving Image illuminates all facets of the art form.

  • I arrived at Maya's house very lately because my flight was delayed three hours. However, when I was arriving at her house, her husband gave me the instruction to the house very kindly.

    Fusayo2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Didn't meet Maya in person but she was responsive in communication through texts. Room was as exactly described with directions and instructions clearly given. Despite my mistake checking into the wrong room, Maya was able to quickly make adjustments and accommodate the change. The best thing was the location, within walking distance to LGA where I had to catch a very early flight the next morning.

    Raymond2016-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great option for staying near the airport. Literally a 5 minute walk. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. I would stay again. Thanks Maya!

    Seth2016-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband Stephane stayed there and wrote: " Simple yet perfect for airport transfer. Everything was clean and organized. " he payed 8 dolars for a taxi from Airport to the house as he had a lot of luggage on him.

  • I'd like to thank you so much for letting us stay in the Soho Loft. It really was incredible. A truly spectacular loft apartment with such an amazing feel. It looks so beautiful in the photos but it was even better when we arrived. The place was so massive and every small detail of attention has been thought of. I couldn't believe how high the ceilings are! We watched a movie on the cinema protection screen in the main room. The sound is just incredible! We thought the first bedroom was the master and then saw the next one. It was only finally when we saw the real master bedroom that we realized how amazing all the bedrooms are. Every bathroom has its own Jacuzzi and The master bedroom bathroom is literally like it's own spa and the steam room was amazing. The TV in the bedroom is the best picture I have ever seen! We had a look inside the wine cellar wow what an incredible room. This truly was a once in a lifetime New York experience. Well I can say we will definitely be back!

YES -------------- does your place have a bathroom?? seriously??? no, i go outside in the alleyway to wash & relieve myself, even in the winter, when it's freezing cold out. this is nyc after all, many of us are still without indoor plumbing. the bathroom is shared between the 3 bedrooms in this apartment, there can be a bathroom rush hour at times. -------------- do i get keys? yes, of course ------------- is it a private bedroom? yes, you will have a private room to yourself in a shared apartment. -------------- is there a curfew? no ------------- i have a small, clean room i am renting in a busy, safe neighborhood, right off manhattan's main street (broadway) located on the 1st floor and in the back of the building, so it's (usually) quiet in the apartment. sometimes in the summer the latin flavor of this neighborhood can be heard by the sounds of salsa, merengue, bachata, etc. but not till very late, almost never past midnight, and not really loud enough to have ever bothered any guests before. i'm located between 2 big avenues with public transportation. subway is across the street, on broadway as well as buses, which also run up and down amsterdam(both directions). 24 hr food, liquor stores, laundry, hardware, restaurants, t-mobile(for sim cards), etc. all right here. 30min travel time by subway to east village (8st N,R,W trains) 15 minutes to times square 10 minutes to central park. room has a twin size loft bed, and a small futon beneath it. rent alone and use futon as couch or bed, or sleeps 2. Terms: * no pets * $35 in case you lose the keys, or whatever it might cost you to replace them yourself. * this a cheap way to visit manhattan, but it is a private residence; please be courteous and by cleaning up after yourself, or chip in for housecleaning services. (very important, I've had horrible luck with slobs, I am not a slob.) * this may be redundant, but i have had problems with guests making a mess in the kitchen and bathroom and not cleaning up after themselves. this is not a hotel, you are a guest in my home, please clean up after yourself. i can offer some concierge type services, but if you don't want to clean up after yourself, go book your stay at a hotel and pay extra for it. please be clean and respectful in my home as i will show you respect and hospitality and provide you with a clean place to live, cook, and sleep. cheers, ssameer
the diversity, safety and convenience are what make this a great neighborhood to stay in while visiting NYC. despite being far uptown, it still being in manhattan, there are many more conveniences than staying in almost any part of brooklyn, queens, the bronx, etc.
  • Great host! Super nice and relax guy! Location is nice too, and very well priced.

  • Ssameer's place was perfect for a quick weekend in the city. We're still on the bus back to DC but couldn't wait to post another rave review about Ssameer. It was easy to set things up, he helped us find our way to his place (how we got lost when he lives a block from the subway is beoynd me!), and was super friendly - right away he invited us to a cool invite only art party. Little room and bunk beds were all we needed to crash in the wee hours of the morning. Apartment is hot as advertised, but otherwise the experience was almost perfect!

  • Nice hospitality, very friendly, gives great advice to newcomers to NYC. Quiet neighborhood, parking is a bit tricky but always had a place to park in front of the apartment. Very close to alot of places to visit, Central Park, Museums, downtown is only a few minutes away by subway or car. Would stay again!! Thanks Ssameer...

  • Agnes is very friendly and welcoming host. We had a wonderful time staying at this place. Good location near to the subway station, with lots of grocery stores and laundries. Nice neighborhood, comfy and clean room. Agnes provided us with information on transport and everything we need. Also we appreciated water and snacks in our room. Definitely recommend.

    Bogdan2014-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Agnes is like staying at a friend's house. She is warm, friendly and extremely helpful, willing to go out of her way to help you. The apartment is very convenient to public transportation and in a nice neighborhood. It is a small bedroom, but well appointed with closet, TV, wireless internet access and air conditioning, good towels and toiletries. The breakfasts are enormous - I didn't need to eat lunch! Agnes is very flexible about check-ins and departure times, but it might be a good idea to have settled them in advance. You couldn't find a better value in NYC. I would stay there again, if I needed a place in NYC.

  • Agnes is a wonderful host. Very warm and welcoming. The location is very convenient to all that Manhattan offers. Close to the subway, and just two stops on the express to Columbus Circle. The room is well-appointed and the bed is very comfortable. This is my second time staying with Agnes and I highly recommend it.

  • This airbnb was very easy to use. Agnes was very friendly and helpful in guiding our travels. Very convenient to the subway. The room could have been a little cleaner but overall the experience was what we expected and we had a great experience in NYC.

    Remy 2013-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Agnes gave very good directions allowing us to easily find her location. When we arrived, she welcomed us and gave us a detailed tour of our accommodations. She was also very helpful with directions to other locations. Our stay was short, but our accommodations were clean and comfortable. The subway (train) is located just around the corner. I would like to mention, that if Agnes does not respond right away by email, do not hesitate to call her. Once in awhile there might be a technology glitch - but if you call and leave a message, Agnes will respond in a very timely manner.

  • We had a perfect accomodation at Agnes' during our stay in NYC. She is a very kind and heplful person and cares for all the stuff you might need to have a good time there. The (bath-) rooms are cleand(-ed) freqeuntly! Although it is up in Harlem, you have a fast connection with the sub to all important places!

  • Agnes is a lovely and awesome host! Our travels were delayed and she was very understanding; she offers a lot of information about the area and amenities, as well as restaurants and pastries, and shares her passions with her guests; highly recommended if you are a jazz or just a music lover ;) She provides abundant of food and water in the room, and a huge breakfast selection in the kitchen (she even has an italian moka!). The room just got a new big and comfy bed, and the whole apartment is really clean and tidy. The neighborhood is very safe, there is a subway station half block from the apartment with a police station in it. My boyfriend and I will totally recommend her!

    Giorgia2015-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The stay in the department of Agnes was really good. Is strategically well located in Harlem. A block is a subway station, where they spend many lines. She does good breakfasts and very abundant. Agnes also speaks fluent Spanish. He is always willing to help and guide you. You get discounts at the supermarket. It was my first experience AIRBNB and was very good. Thanks Agnes. Sorry for my English. Gracias Agnes. Perdon por mi ingles

  • I stayed for two nights and Gurpreet went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. He messaged me directions, carried my suitcase up and down the stairs, gave me cold juice upon my arrival and a bottle of cold water and made sure everything was alright. The room is exactly as described, very clean and comfy. The location is great if you're flying to or from JFK and it is not difficult to go to Manhattan by public transportation, either. Overall a perfect experience. I highly recommend Gurpreet's place.

  • Gurpreet's place was as described. Very clean. He was understanding when my flight was delayed although initially we had a misunderstanding about it. Because my flight came into NY so late in the night he offered to pick me up at the airport to avoid further delays while I took a cab or Uber. My only complaint is that I would have appreciated a heads up that the offer came with a price tag. When he dropped me off he asked for me to pay for the additional service of transportation. If I had known then I would have compared price but I could not do that after he had already taken me to the airport so I had to agree with the price. Otherwise I found him to be very friendly and welcoming

    Christina2015-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this accomodation for one night as I had a stop over from the UK and a very early flight out of JFK the following morning. Gurpreet is the perfect host, mannerly and welcoming and most helpful with directions to the airport. Highly recommended. It was very easy to find the accommodation which looks exactly as seen on the street view photo. Safe neighbourhood with shops nearby - perfect.

  • The ONLY place to stay in NYC. Love the pad, Love the host. Feels like HOME!

  • Joe was a gracious host and very accommodating on a short notice reservation. He was flexible and allowed me to store my luggage for the day in addition to my one night stay. The place is a clean and cheap way to enjoy NY while you're in town.

    Kathryn 2014-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Joe is the best host I met in NY. As soon as I arrived he explained me everything about the metro and the rooms of the apartment. I also appreciated to have coffee and cereals for my breakfast. The apartment looks far from downtown but with the express line, it is possible to reach Times Square in 20 minutes. The area is also very safe. It was not a problem to come back at 1 am by walking in the streets. The second day I had to go to Newark airport and he reommended me to take line 3 instead of A or D (whick look faster to me). He was perfectly right since I arrived at Pennstation next to New Jersey transit station.

  • This was exactly as advertised and worked well for our quick stop over trip in NYC! joe is very nice and extremely helpful.

  • Joe, very helpful and accommodating throughout my stay. Great host.

    Harnish2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was no good, I spent more time and money that I though due to Joes place is so far from landmarks in NY, pictures are not real, it was so noisy that I couldn't sleep, his flat is on a fifth floor and nobody open me the door for 30 minutes and Harlem is not safety at all. I feel scared and worried. Sorry Joe but your place is not value for money. It was not clean at all.

    Cesar2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Joe is an experienced host and is welcoming. The room is equipped with power plugs Cleanliness Con: I wish there was a heater in the room. Even though there was quilts and blankets enough, the temperature got a bit cold when you were outside the bed.

    Ali2014-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joe was a brilliant host and the hospitality was top notch. The place is easy to identify and the connectivity to the location is good. Joe helped us in every way he could and made new York very memorable for us. Thanks Joe.

  • We stayed at Joe's apartment for about a week: bed was comfy, room was clean and Joe was super helpful. Had a great time in Harlem; definitely safer than we had assumed. The apartment is on a main street so there's a bit of noise pollution. Expected the bathroom to be a bit cleaner, but could be the cause of other house guests.

    Judy2013-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Joe was above and beyond as a host. Superb!

    Tim2013-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is my very first airbnb experience and Joe has made it wonderful for me. The room is clean and comfortable. I slept very well. What's more, Joe is so helpful and kind hearted, he communicated with me a few days prior to my arrival, told me how to get to his house and he is so thoughtfully, prepare everything that you may need in the room, like iPhone recharge cable, adapter, and even a sound machine to help you sleep well... Anyway I had a very good stay with the help of Joe

    Benny2015-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Joe is a 5 star host, nice person and very helpful. Thanks for the plugs and subway map and your tips :) cheers, Anita

Close to public transport, one of two cozy little guest rooms for two. This room is a 10 x 12 converted front porch, located on the first floor of a two family home. Your host lives on the third floor. Come visit Flushing Queens!
This is a small space, big enough for two people sharing a bed. It is located right by the front door so it is perfect for guests that plan on arriving late at night and do not want to disturb anyone. Because it is located street side, you are sure to hear cars and buses as they pass by in the night. It has 5 windows and does not have black out curtains. In the mornings, you will receive a soft glow as the day gets brighter. I'll be on the second floor making coffee. I'll be happy to make you a cup if you let me know. The bathroom is a shared space with another guest room and is on the second floor. I have two cats so, not a good match for those of you with bad allergies or cat phobias. Yes I have had guests here with cat phobias. Ha ha.
Flushing is the biggest China town in all of New York!! We are a foodies paradise! In the morning, be sure to visit one of the many Asian pastry shops in the neighborhood to try a coconut creme bun or a red bean bun. For lunch or dinner, don't miss the opportunity to try some authentic Korean BBQ. There are Korean BBQ restaurants all over Flushing! We are just a 13 min walk from the 7 train and downtown Flushing, or, just catch the bus on the corner. I can help you find your way around NY!
  • I stayed 11 nights at Linda's with a friend. Linda was friendly, the room and bathroom were very clean and the room was equipped with air conditioning which was great because the summer in NYC can be quite hot ! We felt very welcome :) The few negative items are related to the neighboorhood : although it feels very safe, it can be a little noisy at night. Plus, it is far from Manhattan (about 1 hour to reach the Met for example). But for budget travelers as we were it is still quite convenient and easy to access with public transportation and definitely worth the price. Thank you Linda for this nice stay !!

    Pauline2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was very good, the room is not that small for one person and anyway is comfortble, very indipendent and the whole apartment is clean. Linda has been always nice with me. She is organised and ready to help for everything you may need.

    Gianluca2012-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great experience to stay here again. Linda is improving her service and guest experience from one stay to the other. I think it is difficult to find a better deal at this price. I can just repeat myself: The room is very clean, I think it is a safe area the connection to manhattan is also good and the hostess is very easy going and helpful. Staying there for the third time should say it all.

    Hans, Sandra & Son2012-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • I definitely recommend this (URL HIDDEN) stayed two nights here. The location is very good, only 10 minutes walk from main street in Flushing downtown. The guestroom is clean and tidy.Linda is very kind to prepare slippers, bath towels for us. Also the cat is very cute.

    Chen2013-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and her family were beautiful and sweet! Her baby was adorable! I had a blast staying with them. The place was super clean. It was beautifully decorated. The place was calm and inviting. It was easy to walk back to her house at night because there were sparkle lights that hung on the outside and hanging lamps by the window. I had so much fun with her pets. Her cats had personality! Talk about a strutting catwalk! The bird had great rhythem. When you tapped on something, the bird would tap back with it's beak. The neighborhood was fun to explore. Linda helped us with directions to all the places we needed to go. She commuincated back quickly when I asked her about a million questions. There is an awesome authentic indian restaurant around the corner. My mom and I had a blast. Linda and I also bonded over art!

    Prudence2014-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our journey at linda's Home. The room is clean and the air cond very appreciated. Linda and his family are very kind.

    Chloé2014-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really good stay at Linda's guest room. It was good to find and a well planed hosting. If you are a light sleeper, use one of the other guestrooms of Linda, which are a bit more in the middle of the house. I would definitely recommend it for an easy and resonable priced stay in NYC. And if you stay there, go to flushing main street, that's a real experience.

    Christian2015-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's house was lovely. They were very nice and welcoming, and told us everything we needed to know. The house was clean and warm - we have no complaints! It's a short walk to the subway and not far to Manhattan - I'd recommend this place for anyone visiting New York.

Steps from airport LaGuardia bus to train on corner. Train will take you to Manhattan in 20 minutes. The vicinity does not have much to offer however a 10 minute taxi ride to Astoria.

Unwind after a long day with the flat screen TV with Apple TV & Netflix during your stay.
My apartment is located in authentic Central Harlem. (Uptown Manhattan) Harlem is a very exciting and diverse neighborhood with all different types of people and cultures, a true NYC MELTING POT... which means that great food will be all around you :) The neighborhood is lively and busy, yet VERY SAFE. My neighbors are very friendly and community oriented. This neighborhood is perfect for those who don't want to pay downtown prices, but want the ability to get downtown in minutes! It's NYC. Live a little :)
  • Chistina was really nice and the place was fine too. Everything was clean and comfortable.

    Fernanda2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was adequate and well located. Perfect to stay a few days in NYC. A good quality/cost value. And Christina was very responsive to text messages, so we felt like we were well taken care of.

    Nicolas2015-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just met Christina once we arrived and she seems nice, communication was easy before and after arrival. The place itself was decent size, clean and it was good enough for what we needed. It was a bit further to the subways than what we expected but apparently NY standards it near. We got used to the distance but do consider taking a taxi when you have luggage it wasn't fun lugging it especially when you have to find the place. Taxi rides from cost about 30$ to the bus terminal. The place have good wifi and a refrigerator. There was no AC but good thing that the weather was cool the time we were there, there was a fan but it was too loud. Couple of turn offs for us for this place was there were cockroaches, and the NOISE especially at night, there seems to be always people outside at all times and they talk very loud too no matter what time it is. It was hard to sleep, the only time I fell asleep was when it rained (kept people indoors). Sorry to say this but we didn't have that zen feel when we were there to be honest. If cockroaches and noise does not bother you then you should be ok in this place.

    Darlene2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Christina's place was clean and comfortable, exactly like her pictures. My friend and I just needed a place to stay for the night, but due to some poor planning on our part we were unable to get to her place to meet her. We were all the way downtown and trying to navigate the subway took much longer than expected. She was very friendly and accommodating, despite our mistakes.

    Susan2015-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Christina’s Apartment is very lovely, cosy and clean! We couldn't have lived any better! She's a very friendly and helpful host! We'd definitely stay at hers again!

    Celine2014-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I met with Christina at the check-in time and she was friendly and welcoming. There were 3 of us and her apartment gave us what we needed, as we were gone for most of the day. The size of the space was plenty! The Harlem neighborhood was a change from our surroundings back home, but that's the point of experiencing NYC. The tenants in the building were friendly and polite. Various public transportation stops and restaurants can be found nearby. The main trouble we had was with unlocking the door to get back into the apartment. There is a bit of a trick to it, so hopefully something can be fixed in the future! Christina was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Communication with her was great and she messaged me as we were departing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

    Kristina2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first airbnb experience. We had a delay at the airport but but it was no problem. When we arrived at the apartment Christina explained everything and promised to send us some additional links for exchange offices, places to eat and to plan our trips with the metro. And she followed up very quickly. The apartment looks very nice. The bed was a bit unstable, we have informed Christina and she promised to fix this so their will be no problem for new people renting the apartment. Further the place was good the metro is only a few minutes away and the neighborhood was nice. Great people, but also very loud people especially during the night. We had some troubles sleeping because of all the noises. Off course this is not something Christina can do anything about but it is a need to know if you rent the apartment so you won't be suprised. Thanks Christina for letting us stay in your apartment.

    Lisette2014-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at the apartment late and Christina waited for our arrival. The apartment is ok for 2 people, there's everything you need, and it was very clean. Christina is very nice and gave us the directions we needed. The neighborhood is a bit noisy, but safe and the people are really helpful. I recommend it!

The house is also very close to a shopping center with all major stores, Flushing Meadows Park, Queens Center Mall, Airports, post office, nice restaurants, fast-food, laundry mat, a 24/7 super market, and much more!
  • This was a pleasant stay that I would definitely recommend if you are flying in or out of LaGuardia. Angela was very informative and helpful before we arrived, making the check-in process easy and seamless. It was just what we needed for the night.

    Jacob2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Angela lives downstairs from the rooms she rents. She is very nice. She makes herself available to her guests and is very personable without being intrusive. Parking on the weekend is no problem. There is a great diner (Bucaneer) and a Walgreens 2 blocks down. The space is clean. The beds are comfortable. No TV. There is a kitchenette with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. and a coffee maker with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sugar and dry creamer. It is possible to cook on the 2 burner cook top. There are 3 mini refrigerators. I say all this to point out that the picture of the kitchen does not accurately portray the kitchen there. Most important, I forewarn anyone considering this listing about something I somehow missed. There are 3 bedrooms (sleeping up to 12 people) which could be potentially rented at one time, SHARING ONE BATHROOM!! I didn't know I would be sharing the bathroom and kitchen. I thought I was renting a tiny apartment for myself and my son. I feel the description and pictures are somewhat misleading. I could never go back there knowing I would be sharing the bathroom. Other than that, it is a great rental choice. But because of that, I have to give it a bad review. This was my first experience with an airbnb rental. I have learned that I have to ask questions. I already have a house reserved through airbnb for my next trip. Having an entire house will be quite a different experience.

    Andrea2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Angela is very welcoming , she has many and very good advices for going to New York and visit the city. We spent very good time in her house.

    CLAUDINE2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • I love staying at Angela's place! She makes you feel like you are home even when you are away from yours. Her home is very clean and has several amenities that make your vacation easier. During our stay, our flight left late at night our last night in the room so Angela allowed us to leave our baggage secured at her place while we were out exploring the city before our trip. It was a huge help! Angela's is always my first choice when staying in New York. I recommend everyone to check out her place!

    Megan2016-09-19T00:00:00Z

  • The apartment was exactly what we needed. Lots of places close by and it was super easy to get to the subway to get around. We loved the place and would definitely stay there again. Only tiny little complaint is that the beds are pretty firm and uncomfortable... if you have back problems make sure to bring something to put under you. Other than that, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

    Kinsey2014-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Although only there for 1 night, we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, roomy and quaint with a lot of architectual details that made me marvel at the craftmanship of days gone by. It was perfect for our Harlem experience. It was walking distance from museums, entertainment venues and the restaurants we wanted to try. I would definately book there again.

    Margie2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location of the apartment, it was very close to the subway so was really easy to get everywhere. It felt very spacious for three and was great having a proper kitchen. We never met William but he was helpful over e-mail before we arrived. William's mum was on hand when we had a few questions while we were there. On previous visits to NYC we have stayed in a hotel and I would definitely say that staying in an apartment was preferable! I would recommend this apartment, we only wish we could have stayed longer!!!!

    Catherine2013-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic. Will is a perfect host and the apartment is good for a family with 2 children and 9 days. The place in Harlem is very funny, we love it. Thank so much

  • William was an awesome host, very very friendly and knowledgeable about the neighborhood. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, comfortable, and an awesome deal! Would stay again, A+

    Matt2012-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Will was very helpful and flexible to work with. The apartment was spacious, clean and reflected a time passed in NYC brownstone history. The location was perfect for transportation, small grocery store gems and resources of 125th street. We will definitely stay again.

    Kathleen2014-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • William is a very nice host, prompted respond at all times. The place is clean and quiet. The apt is just 5-7 mins walk to Subway, very easy to get around. Grocery shop nearby is a plus. There is a few things went wrong during our stay, the oven didn't work while we were there. The heater in the small bedroom was being very unreliable, thus some night it was very cold, and some it was quite warm. Also, the internet didn't work on our last 3 nights, but this is due to network issues with the entire part of the town, not William's fault. Overall, it was a good stay. Thanks!

  • We stayed 8 nights in the apartment and all was great. William is very welcoming, available and friendly. The apartment is clean, safety and quiet. All is working (The Cable TV is great :) ) except few problems with the wifi connection, but William solved that in seconds. Is in a nice location, there are 2 metro stations few minutes walking, so you can go to the city center in 15 minutes and you have supermarkets, fast food restaurants, shops, and all what you need very near. Willam was flexible about our check in and check out, which was great!. We recommend others to stay at Williams place(URL HIDDEN)

My place is close to The Theatre District, Times Square, Central Park and The Apple Store. You’ll love my place because of the location and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Jowelle accommodated our arrival/departure times. It was an excellent location - walking distance to a lot of big tourist attractions (Rockefeller, Times Square, Broadway, etc) but in a cool, quiet neighborhood. Its a short walk to tons of great restaurants and bars. The apartment was clean and had all the necessities. If you want to get a feel for living in New York, I would definitely recommend this place.

    Emma2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, clean apartment close to transport and restaurants. Jowelle was quick at communicating and allowed us to check in earlier than scheduled. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in New York.

    Cardia2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The landlord is vey kind and efficiently solved problems for me when I meet difficult.

    Yilin2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jowelle is an attentive host. She was on the phone as soon as we picked up the keys, with directions and check-in help, and she was responsive to several issues we had that were not her fault. The location, on 9th Avenue near 49th Street, is central to Hell's Kitchen, a West Side area popular with younger New Yorkers. No big-name restaurants nearby, but plenty of good neigborhood options for food and drink. The ground floor apartment, though not lavish, is quiet. If the bathroom is tight, the bed is comfortable.

    Harvey2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The apt was great overall. The pick up and drop off for the keys is very easy. There is everything you need for a short stay in the big city and the location is GREAT! We had a problem opening the door at our arrival which cost us a good 1h30 of lost time because we did not want to disturb the host at first, I mean how hard can it be to open a door.. so she ended up having to send someone to open it for us. It was very easy to communicate by text with the host. The only downside is that we are used to meeting the host at the location at our arrival to rentals from airbnb's and in this case we never met and it cost us a part of our night because we had a hard time getting in the apt!

    Olivia2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • 1 BR with additional couch on a great location, 2 blocks away from times square, very clean, nice neighborhood with plenty of bars and restaurants around, just take convertible sofa for 3rd guest isn't big but comfortable enough, Janelle was expecting our arrival via txt msg, pick up keys is at a bar about 2 blocks away, I recommend this place 100%

    Wieger2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great. Very close to Times Square and the subway. The apartment itself was not what I expected. The plumbing leaked out of the sink faucet in the bathroom, the air conditioning unit in the bedroom allowed in flies and cigarette smoke. It's a decent place for the area if you want a live like a local feel.

    Mandy2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jowelle's place is convenient, accessible, and has what you need for a good weekend stay in NYC. Jowelle is very welcoming, friendly, and responds quickly. We had a great stay and everything was easy and exactly as promised - something we value highly.

This is a private room 5 minute walking distance to North Elizabeth train station which takes you to NYC in 25 minutes. There is a bus that takes you to NY Port Authority right on the corner of the block! The house is 5 minutes from Newark Airport by car.
The room is very clean and cozy, it can accommodate 1 person comfortably but will accept a maximum of 2 guests. It has a full size bed, Armoire to hang clothe, ceiling fan, study desk, night stand, Air Conditioner in the summer Heat in the winter, Flat Screen TV with cable, personal refrigerator, and Strong Wi-Fi connection.
In this neighborhood you will see that you are close to many convenient locations. Restaurants (Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, South American, Pizzeria, fast food) Parks, Bakery, Liquor Store, Bars/clubs, Super Markets, Spa, Billiards and more!! There is lots of diversity and is a safe place to be.
  • Christian wasn't around so I was checked in by his sweet mom! Everything was as described and the room was cozy for one person. It was a nice and relaxing one night stay after business travels.

    sherry2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly host. Simple room. Very close to the airport!

    Keyonna 2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Christian was an amazing host. Since the time I arrived he made me feel very welcomed, he even offered to take me to the train station and picked me up which was so helpful. Thanks Christian for everything and I'm already planing my next trip to NY and I will definitely give him a call again.

    David2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The room was exactly as described. It was roomy, clean, well furnished. Christian communicated very quickly, clearly and answered all my questions prior to my stay. He met me upon my arrival, had the front lights on, escorted me on a tour of his house.

    David2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully hospitable! Great price for a simple stay close to transportation hubs. Plus Christian's mom is adorable.

    Jessica2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow ! What a great place to stay. I chose Christian'a place as a 1 night stay between flights into JFK and out of Newark airports. I also chose this particular place because of the 100+ perfect reviews & they were not off the mark. Christian was quick to respond to questions I had and helped me with transit info to get from JFK into NJ to the house / arranged for someone to meet me there for an 1pm check-in and helped with questions while there. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and had all conveniences: small fridge, wardrobe closet for clothes, strong WiFi, small desk for work area, cable with 50+ channels, and a comfy bed. It also has a individually keyed lock for securing your things while out. Towel and some amenities supplied. Full kitchen area was clean and had cooking utensils, pots, pans etc... as well as a blender, microwave, large fridge/freezer, and 4 seat table. Bathroom was clean also. Shared between 4 rooms on my floor but with 4 people staying I still never had to wait long to use. Property itself is in a nice quiet residential area but on one of the main streets so Uber rides were not more than 5mins out. 3-4 restaurants, a coin-op & drop off laundry, liquor store and small convenience/dollar store within a 1 block walk of the house. Many more restaurants and other things within a 5 min walk from the house. Small train station is 5 minute walk away and a bigger main one I had to use on weekend was still only about 1 1/2 miles ($7 by Uber). Both stations are about 20 minutes to NYC Penn station as well ($7.50 one way) I got more for 1/3 the money than any hotel in the area I could have booked and I am sure in a better environment with more close by as well. Met 3 other people staying on night I was there and all were pleasant and happy with their syays there also. I would recommend this place to single travellers, couples & maybe even small families if you can book two rooms as you will still be under what it costs for a basic area hotel and you end up in a convenient, quiet and safe area with great amenities for your money. Thanks Christian ! I hope to be back again

  • I had an early arrival, Christian's parents met and were very friendly and welcoming. They made me feel like a member of their family.

    David2016-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at Christian's place before and I am always impressed how they keep the room and common area. This specific room includes a small refrigerator that you can store food or drinks. I had a comfortable stay and Christian and his family always make you feel welcome; they are eager to help answer any questions I might have. I'm impressed with their attention to detail. They provide towels and washcloths for their guests, so you do not have to carry that with you. Plus, they provide complimentary bottle water and ear plus. The bed is also comfortable!!!

    Sarah2012-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean apt, and the parking was 100% hassle free which is something I appreciate in NY specially since we had 2 cars. I practically parked right across the street every time, even at 4AM. Love the keyless entry (no key to loose). The apt had clean towels, spare toothbrush and toothpaste, free bottled water and even some snacks. We were a group of 4 and fit very confortable in the 2 beds and the futon. We were greeted by Christian's sister who lives upstairs, she was very polite and offered to help shall we need anything. Christian was most accommodating in letting us check out a bit later. Overall an excellent stay. I will certainly stay here again someday.

    Carlos2012-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • A good sized two room unit that is well maintained and very clean. Christian's parents live upstairs and they will be your contact. They are friendly, helpful, and kind. The unit was well prepared when I arrived and included little extras that show care and professionalism. It will take an hour or so to get to mid-town so plan accordingly. If you are sensitive to the cold (as I am) you may find the heat lacking. But a space heater did help keep the bedroom warm.

  • As a Bronx native, I knew the neighborhood and expected a Bronx basement apartment. This is just what I got. At the time of reservation I advised them that we would be driving straight from Florida. This being a 20 hour drive I was hoping the accommodations would be ready. I called at 2 pm on the day of our arrival, because we had not received the code to the door yet, at which point it was given to me. I then asked if we could check in earlier at 4:30 and was told ok. So we showed up at 4:30 and they were just in the process of cleaning. We couldn’t check in until at 5p.m. At this point all we wanted to do was shower and sleep but were unable to because there were no towels available. By 9 p.m we have only received two towels for 5 of us. I decided to take a shower and use the paper towel to dry. The bathroom was a disappointment. The shower head (replaced by day 3) was spraying all over and making the floor wet, there was only a shower curtain (fabric) but no liner and the grout was moldy and had many cracks. It was hard to regulate the water temp. The size of the apartment was good for 5 adults. The Futon needs to be addressed. It is ok to sleep on but as a couch it slides down each time you sit on it. The TV took a while for the kids to figure out how to turn on but once we finally got it we still couldn’t get local stations to see weather/news. The keyless, I was never sure if it was locked or open. The Bronx is not somewhere you want to be unsure if you’re secure (extra key to lock top lock). It was very nice to have AC (atypical for NYC). But I don’t remember window units being so loud. It was hard to sleep with them going and being on the ground level you can’t sleep with the windows open. Parking was not a problem. Just don’t forget to read the street signs. I forgot about alternate side of the street parking and received a parking ticket. The garden would have been nice placed to sit but it was overgrown and hidden on the side was a pile of recycling/garbage. All in all, the entire place was OK, their parents were nice and response time ok. There is a need for a new coat of paint for the dirty walls, and the bathroom needs some work but the place is a great size. If I needed to say in the Bronx again I would not stay here unless it was my last option or if some improvements came from these comments. I couldn't wait to go home.

  • This place is absolutely amazing. The decor, the linen the whole atmosphere. I honestly for the first in my life have nothing bad to say. It snowed twice I was there and the door way was shoveled promtley. We had a little trouble using the keyless entry and the host was always their to help, either by phone or inperson. The bus stop is right infront if the house. Thanks very much I will definitely stay again

    Maurice and Carmel2015-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A friendly welcome as we lugged the suitcase up the sidewalk was the first indication that the stay was going to be good. We looked over the apartment, and decided where each family was going to sleep. Grandma and Grandpa on the futon and the bedroom to Mom, Dad and the two kids. Very soon came the knock on the door with the offer of window air conditioners which were quickly installed. Elegant - no, but clean and efficiently stocked with the essentials like dishes, towels, sheets and well working appliances. A code to unlock the door meant everybody had a "key" . The multiple sheet instructions gave you guidance on everything from the tv to travel hints. The rules stated were common sense - just what you would do in your own house. The neighborhood is a middle class with brick houses and is inhabited with a very diverse population. Granddaughter Jane (6 months) and I greeted them all as they walked to work or the bus stop. Streets are clean with plenty of parking. In walking distance is a corner grocery store, a supermarket and a wonderful Italian bakery the likes I have not seen since I lived in Utica. Do not go to this bakery hungry as I did. With my daughter's graduation festivities, we did a lot of coming and going, plenty of showers and baths and this apartment just fit us well. We have no complaints, only complements.

    Patricia2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Seriously nice location. 4 block walk to the subway, with free parking. Well appointed kitchen, linens and towels provided. Big bedroom, futon in the living room, with available air mattress. Residential neighborhood, we came in very late at night with no trouble.

    Victoria2012-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely AirBnB is very convenient to Fordham and the Botanical Gardens, an easy walk from the subway (I took the 2 from Penn Station), with a Foodtown market just 2 blocks away. The mattress is very firm but comfortable, the area is quiet and I felt safe walking after dark. Highly recommend it.

  • We stayed in Angela's house only 5 hours (we came late and left early for the morning flight) but this is the most well-organized host I've ever seen. The house was really nice, clean, and details from A-Z. Angela make us feel like we stayed in our own house. From electric lock of your own code to the censor light, even free goodies, coffee tea... Angela also really careful and kind even we just contacted through message. She replied me quickly and her information was always helpful. Highly recommend!!!

  • Angela's room was perfect for our one night stay in Queens. We needed a room near la guardia airport for our flight the next morning and Angela's place was very convenient, as it is just 10 minutes walking from the airport. As we arrived fairly late, Angela provided us with a key code entry to the front door and our own room. The room was good size and the bed really comfortable, with bed linen and towels provided. The area was really quiet during the night and we had a wonderful night sleep. Our room was downstairs, and there was a common bathroom and a kitchen upstairs, shared with the other two rooms (both upstairs). The access to the kitchen was great in order to fix a quick breakfast (coffee and tea are provided) before our flight. Communication with Angela was very good and she was really friendly and helpful. Thank you so much!!!

  • I was very pleasantly surprised by this space. For the price, it was a fantastic space in a safe location, convenient to the train lines. The studio apartment is neat, modern, and clean without too many frills. Although the space I stayed in was not the same exact space as in the photos, it had the spirit of what's in the photos, and we did have enough space for 3 people (2 full beds and a pull out couch). The bathroom is tiny, but it serves its purpose. The kitchen is super small. The beds, couch, decor all seem pretty new. It was a great space for a weekend in NYC. For lodging in NYC at this price point, you really cannot ask for more! David was also very responsive to all my questions before and during the stay.
