  • I stayed with Sarah and Thomas each weekend for most of the summer. Always clean and comfortable. I’ll remember this for the next trip.

  • Sarah and Thomas were delightful hosts. Their home is very much as posted and very comfortable. So peaceful and quiet(URL HIDDEN)

    Brock2015-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We got in earlier than planned and they were very accommodating with checking in early. It's a nice clean room and bathroom and a great view from the house! Sarah and Tom were very friendly and we got to talk to them a little when we first arrived and later on in the day. We wish we could have stayed longer!

    Becca2015-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Thomas's house was cozy, beautiful and ecclectic. The perfect place for a mountain get away or stop en route to a further destination. We were in town to attend a memorial service and Sarah was very accommodating to the fact that we had to arrive late. Sarah was a warm and welcoming after a long day of travel. I just wish we had more time to chat with her and Thomas! They are lovely and interesting people. I highly recommend this place if you are in the Glenwood Springs/ New Castle area.

  • My experience was lovely, and just what I needed. I needed a comfortable, homey place to come home to after long days of being on set, and Sarah and Thomas's home was perfect for me! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and stocked with essentials, and I was provided with clean towels and sheets :) I was very happy with the living situation and the view!

    Allie2014-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Thomas were very sweet and treated me like family. Their home was easy to find, it was clean and is located in a beautiful area. I would stay there again!

    Amanda2015-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying with Sarah and Thomas! Their hospitality and kindness stretches beyond all measure. Looking forward to visiting again :)

This is a detached guest house with a private entrance. There's one full-size murphy bed and a full-size pull out sofa with a memory foam mattress. You can close the curtains to separate the two areas.
This room has a coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, microwave, George Foreman grill, full-size refrigerator, and a patio with a grill. It's also within walking distance of several nice restaurants. There's a smart TV in the room with a DVD/VHS player and WiFi. The hot water heater is only 20 gallons, so you'll have to work around that for showering.
You're within walking distance of several nice restaurants, some cute shops, the library, a small grocery store, the park, and a playground. You're steps away from Elk Creek which has some good fishing when the water is running. New Castle is about 10 minutes from Glenwood Springs, 30 minutes to Ski Sunlight, and an hour from Aspen. There are a lot of hiking and biking trails close by and put-ins to the Colorado River for rafting or kayaking just minutes away.
  • Annette's place was amazing. Highly recommend the garage lodge and if we're ever in town again we would definitely love to stay with her.

    Anthony2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very accommodating, friendly and thoughtful. We were very comfortable!

    Sarah2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Annette was a fantastic host and provided us with lots of recommendations and information before our trip. She was incredibly friendly and accommodating and the space was exactly as shown and described on the site. She was flexible with check in time and gave us great directions for everything we needed (including maneuvering the Glenwood Springs construction). The room was clean, the refrigerator had some goodies for us, and the private bathroom was a bonus. We highly recommend anyone to stay with Annette at the Garage Lodge.

    Kali2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Garage Lodge is just as Annette describes it. No frills economical accommodations. We didn't spend much time there but it was comfortable sleeping and snacking. Quiet peaceful surroundings. The fridge runs a little loud but once we fell asleep we didn't even notice it. My only complaint is the limited hot water. Plenty for the first persons shower but give it a while for hot water to replenish before the second person takes their shower. Annette was a very kind, thoughtful and accommodating host. She was super quick with responding to any questions we had. I look forward to staying with her again. Thanks~ Julie and Phoebe

    Julie2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find! We stayed here for one night during our road trip around Colorado. Awesome space with games and records and a small kitchenette. Close to a few restaurants in New Castle. Annette was great with communication and very friendly.

    Michael2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! Exactly as described and in a very cute part of town not far from Glenwood Springs. Annette is incredibly kind and stocked the fridge with muffins, breakfast bars, and oranges, and let us do some laundry. Sad we were only in town for for a night! I'd live in this little garage if I could! :)

    Moyra Zing2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Annette and the garage lodge are both excellent. She is a genuinely ideal host, and the place is comfy, clean and quaint. I will absolutely stay again when I am in the area next. I would give six stars if I could.

    Matt2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Annette's place is super pet friendly, we brought our 23 lb. baby, and he was able to stay in the garage lodge when we went into Glenwood Springs. There is a doggy door that leads into an enclosed kennel. Annette is very friendly and provides thoughtful touches. We never used the shower, we showered at the hot springs. The bathroom appears to be fairly new. The only advice I would have is for the futon and bed to be updated. I should mention I forgot to leave the key, I had it on my key ring and totally forgot to remove it. I am mailing it back as I type!

Peaceful retreat alongside the mountains and the Roaring Fork River
  • HI!We were going to visit the Arches Park in Utah and looking for a place to stay right in the middle of our path. So,we chose this apartment and we didn't regret about that.Gypsy asked on all our questions and there were no any problems with communication.Apartment is very clean, comfortable and pretty big, also it is situated right on the bank of the Colorado River and there was a nice view in the morning. If we decided to repeat our trip we would definitely like to stay here.Thank you,Gypsy!

  • It’s a wonderful place!

    Blake2017-10-15T00:00:00Z

    Clay2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't get to meet Gypsy but her home was very clean, nice location and easy check-in. We were on the go most of our time near Glenwood Springs so this was a great place just to crash after hiking all day!

    Peaceful Retreat
    5 reviews
Welcome to New Castle where the biking & hiking trails are as expansive as they are scenic! New Castle is a bedroom community of Glenwood Springs. A quick 10 minute drive will put you in Glenwood where there are three different hot springs and vapor caves. Ten+ trailheads are near our home and the award winning Lakota Canyon Ranch Golf Course is next door. Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort is 15 minutes away and Aspen is an hour from us.
We love this home. It's warm, inviting, and spacious with many little nooks to hang out or relax. We see deer almost every single day through our back windows. The house has multiple levels with a different feel in each space. We have a queen bed available for two people and a twin bed in a separate room available for a third person at the extra charge. One to two kids are free when staying in the queen room and bringing their own sleeping bags. If extra linens are required for kiddos, we add a $5/child charge. Let us know if this is the arrangement you would like and we'll send a special offer. If there are two people in your party and you desire the separate bed in a separate bedroom, please request a reservation for three guests. Likewise, if you wish for a child to have the extra bed rather than be in the same room all together, request a booking for 3 people. The separate bedroom/twin bed is not included in the regular rate; it is always an added charge.
Benefits of living in town, but the feel of living in the country. Best of both worlds. Our street is quiet, calm, and very safe. Kids are frequently out playing on their bikes and everyone walks their dogs (on leash).
  • Accommodations were comfortable. House seemed very new. My first airbnb experience so didn't know what to expect. Hosts were watching a movie at very loud volume. I spoke to hosts about this after we left and they did not know it was a problem. Also no soap in bathroom. Once again, not sure what I should have expected. Just sharing my thoughts.

    Marc2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend. Ann and Floyd have a very beautiful house in an even more beautiful location nestled in the mountains. As my first time staying in an Airbnb where the host lives there as well, it was a different experience, but Ann and Floyd were both extremely friendly and more than willing to offer up ideas on things to do in the area. The accommodations are very nice as well and extremely clean. On my visit the hot tub was an major bonus as well having done a rather strenuous, well strenuous for me, hike earlier in the day.

    Joe2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home with a beautiful view of the mountains! House was easy to find and room was easy to locate. Towels were set out for us as well as a binder full of things to do and see in the surrounding area! Ann woke up at 6 am to have coffee ready for us and also sent us with some delicious organic blueberry muffins before our hike. Would definitely recommend and stay again! Thanks for having us!

    Jennifer2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great option for a weekend stay near Glenwood Springs. Easy 15-minute drive into GS and avoids the hustle and bustle of being right in town. Ann and Floyd were very communicative leading up to our trip, and Floyd was welcoming upon our arrival. Stars were so bright in their neighborhood! Just what we needed for our trip.

    Samantha2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ann N Floyd are hospitable and friendly, yet give you lots of space to make yourself at home. Their home feels like a small lodge and we were very comfortable.

    Alesa2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ann N Floyd are gracious hosts. Two thumbs up! Their place provided the peace and quiet I was seeking. The space was clean and comfortable making it easy to settle in. I enjoyed being tucked away with beautiful mountain views. Accessibility to my chosen adventures was a definite score

    Melissa2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed a a few Aibnb's in my time and this one was the best by far. The place was super clean and very beautiful. The host was really friendly and gave suggestions for places to eat while in town. The hot tub was hot and the views of the Colorado sky (with millions of stars) and the mountains across the way were both super gorgeous. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would stay here again if ever in the area.

    James2017-10-17T00:00:00Z

Come enjoy the serenity of the mountains all the activities they have to offer. Biking, hiking, relaxing, single family home in quiet neighborhood. Recently we have had guest come for Hanging Lake(1) though really enjoyed Rifle Falls(2). All practically in our back yard(see pics)
For Sept. 22-26, we are offering our entire home or a room in our home. Come and enjoy September in the mountains.
Quiet town with several restaurant. Skiing near by. Hiking and biking out our backdoor.
  • Susan and Greg were very helpful and accommodating. The house and room were clean and quiet, and the bed quite comfortable. This would be a quieter and easier option than staying in Glenwood.

    Benjamin2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect stay by all means. Susan and Greg are great hosts and I felt very welcome. I got the "grand tour" of New Castle and Susan showed me a very nice restaurant. The room and bathroom are comfy and spotlessly clean.

    Niels2015-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Greg were as gracious as could be, especially with our arriving late. We had a great chat, and felt very welcomed. Everything was spotlessly clean, the shower pressure is amazing, and the bonus of breakfast and even a fresh peach for the road was just icing on the cake! We highly recommend this host!

    Adina2015-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Greg are two of the most genuine and hospitable people I've met in a very long time. We only stayed with them for a couple of days but we walked away feeling more like old friends than new acquaintances. Their home is beautiful and well maintained (with a super comfy bed) :), and the photos of the deer in the back yard are not an exaggeration; they actually hang out back there. There's even a really approachable hike within 10 minutes of their front door. I couldn't recommend staying with them more.

    Cameron2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and her husband were awesome accommodates! We're from Chicago and originally planned to hike up to conundrum springs but with bad t-storms it was a no go. But our host then informed us about rifle falls and hanging lake which we hiked instead. They turned a wasted day into great memories with my girlfriend and then provided us with a very home-away-from-home type space to sleep in. We appreciated everything they did and would stay again if it matches our next itinerary ! They are very sweet people and super informative ! I hope you guys take care

    Blake2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Greg were wonderful, welcoming hosts. They both gave us great tips on restaurants and activities to do. Our room was cozy with everything we needed and our own bathroom. We would definitely stay with them again!

    Zach2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is an incredibly beautiful cabin in a lovely location. We were lucky to find it, and would love to return.

    Sonja2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable cabin with high quality furnishings. It was the perfect place for our multi-generational gathering. The grandparents could sleep in the main floor bedroom while the parents and kids had separate rooms upstairs. The stairs are narrow and steep though. I mentioned a baby gate and nightlight to the owner. The balcony in the larger upstairs room added a little romantic touch for us. The light fixtures in each room were unique and lovely. Overall, we had a fantastic stay.

My place is close to Rocky Mountain splendor, whitewater rafting, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, world famous hot springs, X-Games, Aspen, Glenwood Springs, bus routes, Amtrak.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and furry friends (pets).
  • This is a great place for a single or a couple to stay that is out of the way and not too busy, yet still close enough to everything that it doesn't take all day to get anywhere. It's important to note that this is a real Victorian, and the owner is going to great trouble to restore it, so there will be the occasional restoration project, but nothing that will get in the way of your stay. Kitchen is well stocked and TJ, her tenant is a fount of local knowledge and an excellent conversationalist. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay here again. I didn't get a chance to visit Old Town New Castle, so maybe I will have to do that next time.

    Erin2017-02-20T00:00:00Z

Spacious two story, English style home with mountain views. Have a relaxing stay in this queen room with private bath. Amazing views of the Hogback mountains and close to climbing and hiking. We are located about 20 minutes west of downtown Glenwood Springs and about 35 minutes to Rifle Mountain Park.
The room also has a 32" TV with a DVD player and a media box that has access to Netflix, a tea kettle with complimentary tea and coffee and ample closet space.
Our neighbors are very respectful and quiet.
  • Although we only spent a short night at the house Lucas and Kelsey were great hosts. The house was nice and the room and bathroom were very comfortable. The hot chocolate was a great finish to the day after a long time out on the mountains.

    Lana2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lucas and Kelsey went out of their way to make sure they could greet us when we arrived by reaching out earlier in the day to see when we might arrive. Our hosts' home was welcoming and tidy and located in a gorgeous area, close to nature. The bed was a perfect size and comfortable, amenities were excellent, and having access to a guest bathroom in a separate part of the house was a nice perk. Lucas and Kelsey went above and beyond, sharing coffee, conversation, and climbing recommendations during our stay. Plus, their animals were adorable and entertaining. I'd definitely recommend staying with them!

  • This is a beautiful new home in a residential, yet a bit out in the country location. We loved driving by the horses in the field on the way. Very easy going and kind hosts. Spotlessly clean, wonderfully cool on a super hot day. The room is upstairs and the window looks over the mountains. The room is simply furnished and spacious. The house is far from the highway that goes through town which made it tranquil. We made our own coffee in the morning and went out for breakfast in town.

    Lisa2017-06-18T00:00:00Z

Enjoy world class skiing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the Flattops, rock climbing at Rifle Mountain Park 20 min, hiking, rafting, and fishing in the Roaring Fork Valley, and multiple mountain biking opportunities. Good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Can't accommodate more than 2 people unfortunately. No pets, smoking and 420 ok outside.
My home is in a rustic rural New Castle neighborhood, at the end of a cul-du-sac road. The space is quiet and private and the yard is a nice oasis with plenty of shade and privacy and a nice patio. You are more than welcome to use it to read a book or sit down for dinner.
  • I had a great stay at Brian's. He is very friendly and accomodating. This place is an unexpected little haven in New Castle, very quiet, a beautiful yard and amazing bonzais! The location is a great stop on your way to the Utah Desert from the front range and is in pretty close proximity to Glenwood hotsprings and the Mountain Park and Fairy Caves! This place is definitely a little hidden gem! I will definitely go back again.

Our cabin, in a rural, agricultural setting with valley and mountain views, has easy access to Glenwood Springs (15 miles) and Aspen (55 miles). Outdoor acvities abound. In addition, nice restaurants are located in nearby New Castle (3 miles).
Our log cabin is a private 1400 square foot guest house which we designed and built ourselves and is located about 200 feet east of the main house. The antique furnishings are from my childhood home in Missouri. With two bedrooms, two baths, fully furnished kitchen, living room, and laundry, it is a perfect retreat for a girls' getaway or family retreat. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed, a single bed, and a single foldout couch. Adjoining is a bathroom with a shower. Downstairs is a bedroom with a brass double bed and a single bed. The living room couch folds out into a comfortable queen bed. Relax in the clawfoot tub in the downstairs bath. Enjoy the ambiance of the gas fireplace in winter and the cool comfort of air conditioning in summer. The guest house also has wifi and satellite television.
We have lived in Peach Valley for 39 years. It is a special place which we are always eager to share. Located off I70 west of Glenwood Springs and east of Grand Junction (70 miles), it is rural, but not really off the beaten path, Peach Valley Retreat could be a central base camp for all Western Colorado adventures: There is world class climbing at Rifle Mountain Park a few miles west of us, wineries to explore in Palisade (Grand Junction) as well as the Colorado National Monument. The bicycling around here is great, not to mention the hunting, fishing (Gold Medal Waters), and cross country skiing. You can also just enjoy the sunsets and night sky from the porch swing.
  • Margo and Howard are great hosts. They are friendly and make you and your family feel like old friends. The cabin is great ,clean and comfortable with the comforts of home. The view from the porch is beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying there we look forward to a return trip.

    Diane2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Margo and Howard's cabin was perfect from the beginning on. The communication before we arrived and the check in was great. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for, a beautiful cabin located away from the city with great views. The location was great for us, you are quickly in glenwood. Margo and Howard are great hosts, they came by for a chat a few times and brought their dog over to meet everyone. I can definitely recommend staying here!!

    Josh2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Margo and Howard were more than helpful throughout the entire trip. They gave GREAT recommendations and were so warm and welcoming. We loved the muffins they baked us and their adorable dog that they would let us play with. Would 100% recommend them and their adorable cabin for those looking to stay in Colorado!

    Hannah2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Margo and her husband were very hospitable my entire stay. She contacted me the night before my journey to give me directions, and accommodated my late arrival Friday night. They went above and beyond to make sure the WiFi worked in the cabin, and made a couple of recommendations as to places to go in town. The property is exactly as pictured, and was exactly what I was looking for--a weekend escape from the sprawling metropolis.

    Rachel2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Peach Valley Retreat was the perfect place to stay for our annual girl's getaway. Margo & Howard were so hospitable & went out of their way to make us comfortable. They even brought us delicious warm muffins the morning we checked out! I am sure this will become our new tradition for our Hot Springs (URL HIDDEN) only 15 minutes away from Glenwood (& we were spared all of the construction hassles). Also, New Castle has some great little restaurants. We were exceptionally pleased with our new find!

    Berni2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Margo and Howard are fantastic hosts. They are such a sweet and welcoming couple and made us feel at home. We arrived to the cabin pretty late and they were very accommodating and helpful in directing us before we arrived. They even had flowers waiting for us. Words can not describe the beauty of the cabin and the views from the front porch. We look forward to booking with Margo and Howard again! I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

  • The hosts were fantastic and the property was absolutely beautiful! Due to the nature of our stay, we had a lot of special requests and Margo and Howard exceeded our expectations. We have already recommended this property to our friends!

  • Great cabin! Howard and Margo were excellent hosts, and the place is really nice. It was the perfect place to get away from the city. There are even wild turkeys roaming the property!

Quiet and serene location along the Colorado river with nearby walking trails/biking/hiking/rafting and fishing. A short 10 miles from Glenwood Springs. Private room/bath & sitting room with access to all amenities.
Country farm style home which is unique from other homes in the area.
Large open area close enough to town but away from close neighbors with lots of privacy
  • Susan and Mark were great! They were very friendly and understanding! They offered drinks, told us about Glenwood and the places we should explore, and even made breakfast in the morning! The room was perfect size and clean! The door didn't have a lock on it, but that didn't matter because they kept to themselves and they understand about personal space. Overall it was a 10/10 experience!

    Mike2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Susan and Mark's place was like going back to my parent's house. Mark encouraged us to make ourselves at home, pulling out the guitar in case we wanted to play, and even cooked us breakfast before our hike the first morning. We really enjoyed being able to hang out with their dog, Conan, and cat, Romeo, which was very comforting after being away from our pet for so long. We never met Susan, due to her early/late work schedule, but Mark was friendly and helpful. No one was home when we woke up on the morning of checkout, and no breakfast was provided, so we did have to go into the city. The home is a short drive to the highway, but it is about a 20-minute drive into Glenwood Springs, so plan accordingly.

    Emily2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Mark were great hosts. Very helpful in providing hiking ideas, restaurants, and making some amazing coffee cake. We had a very restful and great time staying here.

  • I stayed at Susan's while on business in the Glenwood Springs area. Directions were great, getting to/from her house was easy, and she was great about communication. Very cozy home - nice location by the Colorado River and nice country road to do morning run. My stay was very comfortable - bed and pillows were awesome! Everything was very clean and in working order. Susan had an amazing cranberry and walnut bread, fruit and/or yogurt, and coffee ready for me each morning which I really appreciated given my hectic business schedule. I would definitely stay here again!

    Sonja2015-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Susan are fabulous hosts. Their entire house super clean, stylishly decorated and inviting. Susan prepared for us homemade quiche for the breakfast and Mark makes pouched eggs. Delicious breakfast! Place is quiet, green and close to river. Its actually close to everything. Mark will give to you recommendation what to visit. He did it for us and we had marvelous time. We already planning to get back.

    Natalia2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Susan were absolutely wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. This is what airbnb is all about. They were warm, friendly, inviting, and fun to be around. They even cooked us breakfast with coffee and OJ! I would not hesitate to book this again in the future. This probably was our best airbnb experience ever (and we've done a lot).

  • My friend and I were coming from different parts of the state and decided to stay here due to proximity to her next day's event. The country Victorian Charmer was exactly what we were hoping for. I was thankful for Susan's flexibility about our arrival time. That was awesome for us to have the space to go with our flow. This place is really adorable and the walk along the river was the cherry on top. So beautiful. Susan certainly made us feel welcome.

Enjoy our fully appointed clean, cozy & comfortable apartment. Private entrance, parking and patio. Centrally located to any outdoor activity the Rocky Mountains has to offer. Come & enjoy the views only 5.8 mi W. of Glenwood & 1.8 miles off I-70!
The house is situated up gorgeous Canyon Creek Rd. The views are stunning from every vantage point. The apartment is very clean, comfortable and cozy. It features a fully appointed kitchen, bath & laundry facility. It features 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a queen pullout sofa in the living room. Catered meals are available on request for an added fee. Majority of the year it is not an issue, but to take advantage of the views the driveway is quite steep so in the winter months front wheel, 4 wheel drive and/or good tires are definitely recommended. This property probably would not be conducive to toddlers because the surrounding hillside is quite steep. All outdoor enthusiasts, adventurists and hunters. Welcome!
  • Our family stayed here for two weeks on vacation from our busy jobs/lives in Shanghai. We were craving a space in nature and Storm King Mt. Retreat totally surpassed our expectations. The peacefulness and beauty of the surroundings were just amazing. The views by day were breathtaking and the stars at night were as bright and clear as I've ever seen. It actually reminded me a lot of Tibet. Mo and Maz have arranged a cozy 2-br space that was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Their spirit of hospitality and warmth were so welcoming and their dogs Earl and Rossi wonderful companions. Along with visiting family and friends we went hiking, visited the mineral springs, and went river rafting. Most of all we loved the place where we stayed - completely inspiring and perfect.

    Leela2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our of the various places we stayed at in Colorado, this was the best. Wish we planned it so we could've stayed here longer. The views are amazing, the accommodations clean, inviting. Rooms are set up beautifully. And even though we were secluded, felt absolutely safe. Only advice is to make sure you bring food and coffee, so you don't have to rush out for breakfast. Also, follow the written directions and not the gps.

  • Storm King was very comfortable, clean, quiet, and secluded by the surrounding by mountains. Everyone in our group enjoyed the stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. The only recommendation for future visitors is to load the directions before you need to since service can be spotty as you get closer. Thank you for the hospitality and the cookies!

I literally looked forward to waking up and seeing all of them outside :) We were celebrating an engagement that happened earlier that morning and ending up at this little slice of heaven was the best way to cap off the day. Melissa was so hospitable, breakfast was awesome and the land and space were all just breathtaking. Truly the best Airbnb experience I have had yet. I’ll never forget it and can’t wait to be back. Colorful room in a beautiful custom home. Surrounded by mountainous landscape with lots of hiking trails nearby.
How does it get any better than this? We get a kick out of this home with all its variety and space. What I especially love is eating outside on the front and back decks. This room belongs to our nearly teenager as she learns the ropes to business and responsibility. There's one twin bed and we're dog friendly.
We live on quiet, family-friendly street that dead-ends, so no through traffic comes by.

And there is a lot to do and to see within 1 hour from the place. You can easily spend a week there doing something new every day. Sarah and Thomas are incredibly hospitable and made me feel at home all the time. There is also an organic farm store with a lot of goodies. Highly recommend this place!

  • Had a great time at Sarah and Tom's home! They are located a bit further away from town but the upside is there is beautiful scenery/terrain all around. Getting there the 1st time is a bit tricky especially at night, but they provide detailed instructions. Their pets Nana and Clyde are great. Clyde has a dog's soul in a cat's body. Nana is as big as a bear, a fluffy white majestic pyrenees bear. Also Tom has an amazing assortment and collection of teas for any tea enthusiasts.

This cabin was once a school house on the Ranch, and now is a lovely setting to watch the slow, or busy, ranch life go on! It's situated up alkali creek, and is just 9 miles from Glenwood Springs. It has a chef's kitchen and a nice 4 burner grill for that family that likes to cook at home, pets are welcome, and fresh eggs are for the taking, season dependent! All supplies are provided, just bring your kids and groceries, snap up the pup and head on up.
Only 4 homes on 4000 acres, situated in front of our Private ELK herd, this is sure a show stopper with lovely access year round.
We could be Porter Town! Private, yet so close to it all, a wonderful world behind the coal ridge.
  • Mary and Terry have a fantastic cabin and are wonderful hosts. We all had a fantastic time and will most certainly return for or next get away!

    Josh2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The views were amazing as I expected. I had high expectations on this cabin for the high dollars we paid as compared to our previous trips. The house looks great, just few things that my partner didnt enjoy as much such as the door couldnt be locked. Although the place seems safe, theres that comfort of the door being locked in an unfamiliar place so we ended up barricading the door with a chair lol. We also didnt find the a/c so it was not as comfortable inside and the wifi password didnt work. Although that may be our mistake for not looking closely. My bf also has a phobia of wasps and there was a lot on the porch so he was not as comfortable as he should be. There's definitely zero phone signal at the cabin which mary gave us a heads up. It just made communication with the host difficult. Maybe a landline will help? Overall, it was a good stay.

  • Susan's place is AMAZING!!! It is even better than advertised. Her home is gorgeous with beautiful decor and incredible views of the mountains. The bed is super comfy, too. Her home is about 5 miles from Glenwood Springs and I loved this because it was very peaceful and I took an awesome trail walk near her home every morning. There is construction going on near the main street down town (related to the bridge - I think thru November) but this didn't end up being a problem for me at all and it is very easy to work around this. Susan is so kind and warm and made me totally feel at home. She had yummy coffee for me every morning and I was free to use her kitchen cookware and variety of spices. She also had great suggestions for things to do in town. I would most definitely stay here again. Thank you, Susan, for being such a wonderful host and for inviting me into your home!

Friendly heads up that they are doing major construction in Glenwood Springs. Going into town for us was no problem, but leaving there headed back to Susan's place we experienced delays of 30 minutes or more during peak hours and even ran into some heavy traffic at night. This wasn't really an issue or deal breaker for us since we were never in a rush to get anywhere. Something to keep in mind if you are though. Again, Susan gave great recommendations, and made us feel right at home. An awesome experience from the beginning to the end, and a lovely start to our Colorado vacation, highly recommend!
