  • This is the most lovely little spot. The cottage is nestled alongside a bend in a creek, so that water and greenery are all around you. It is very well appointed with a complete kitchen, so snuggling in is easy. At the same time, a quick walk to town. Elsie was lightning fast in her responses and everything in the cottage and the property was immaculate.

    Sarah2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Very clean and quiet! We came to hike and we had 2 wonderful days with some great hikes at Charleston Provincial Park and Foley Mountain! Highly recommend! The cottage was wonderful and Elsie was amazing! She met us upon arrival and we loved her dog too! We used the bbq and fire pit! We also played board games in the sun room during some rain and it was so perfect! We can’t wait to return! Our dog and 9 month old had a great visit also! Perfect for families!

Peaceful setting on Stafford Bay. Great for fishing, canoeing, kayaking or just relaxing in the hammock. You can explore the Rideau Canal from Jones Falls to Upper Brewers without locking through. We have 2 canoes and a 2 seat Kayak which you are welcome to use. You can launch your boat from the Main docks at Seeley's Bay or rent one from 2 local marinas.
The cottage is cozy but very functional. We have supplied all the dishes and cookware that you will need and have allowed for storage in the kitchen for your personal supplies. There is a supply of herbs and spices for your use, as well as an herb garden right off the deck. Linens are supplied. Bath tub with shower. The hot tub is there for your use, we monitor and adjust the chemicals for every booking. Washer and dryer are there for your use if needed.
We are on a private road with a maximum speed limit of 20 km /hr We do ask that you respect this limit as there are small children enjoying their properties and exploring the wonders of nature. We are at the end of the cottage road so traffic is minimum, making it a great place for long walks down the road.
  • Procrastination bay is the perfect place to relax and unwind! The scenery is beautiful and peaceful. We loved the coziness of the cottage and the hot tub was an extra bonus. Julie was super lovely to communicate with and the added touches she put in really made our stay extra special. Would highly recommend this place to get away and disconnect from city life.

    Emma2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Julies cottage and hospitality far exceeded my expectations. It was dark when we arrived and to wake up to such and amazing view and location was breathtaking. We definitely plan to return to enjoy the peace and tranquility again. Thanks so much. Mike and Leah.

  • This is the second time we’ve gone to Procrastination Bay. Everything was wonderful, despite the weather being all rain. A quiet solitude away from city life.

    Carla2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, secluded cottage in a gorgeous location. Julie and Andy are extremely organized and have put a lot of effort into making the space a warm and inviting one with lots of special touches. Very comfortable and relaxing!

    Andy2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • An amazingly beautiful place - so quiet and peaceful! We especially enjoyed the hot tub right outside the door!! Julie always responded quickly, the cottage was clean and comfortable, the views were better than expected!!

    Joy2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cozy place in a serene and peaceful location. Julie was very accommodating and easy to coordinate with, even late at night when an unexpected family emergency had us arriving much later than expected. We wish we had had more time here to get out onto the lake and do more exploring. Would definitely come back :)

    Holly2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Procrastination Bay exceeded our expectations! A little piece of paradise! The tranquility of the surroundings was exactly what we wanted. Great outdoor space. Dogs had a great time swimming and playing in the yard. Kayaking was great! The cabin offers everything you need and the hot tub was amazing!! We will define back!

    Jael2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Julie is the most helpful and friendly host I’ve ever received. Establishes a decorum of polite and engaging conversation to help with any assistance necessary, as well as aiding guests by leaving clear guidance and directions throughout the cottage. She is a super host for a reason. The cottage itself was immaculate upon arrival and the scenery that surrounded it exceeded expectations. Not too mention the beautiful towns and cities nearby that made for a great adventure aside. Highly recommended staying at her procrastination bay.

Hi! Please read the entire description before emailing questions. Thank you :-) Close to Beverly Lake Park, Kingston, Brockville, Gananoque, Ottawa. Great fishing, private, great place to get away and re-charge. It's great for couples, families, and furry friends (pets). We've been renting since 1976, generations of families have fished with us, and still do. The majority are from the Allentown PA area, but we welcome all! While the space is modern, it's still a rustic cabin.
It's a semi private location, with amazing fishing. 100 Catches a day is an easy goal to hit if your dedicated. It's also a great central spot to tour around, Kingston, the 1000 Islands and Ottawa are close. It's a modern cabin, with a large open concept living dining area, a 55" TV and 25MBPS internet. That said, it's a rustic cottage, there is the occasional ant/spider and sometimes things break, when they do we respond promptly. While most guests are extremely happy with the experience here, I have had the odd guest that was dissapointed. Ultimately I believe they were looking for a boutique hotel experience, so if that's what your looking for, this is not for you. If your seeking some solitude, a comfortable break away, this place is hard to beat.
The cottage is walking distance to the Hamlet of Delta, while it's a little tired, it has some things to offer. It has a township park with play structures and two excellent public beaches. There is a small grocery store with a good bakery - try the chocolate tarts! A decent LCBO, and a chip truck. There is no restaurant. That said, in Elgin, The Ridea Pizzeria does excellent Pizza & Poutine, and a decent breakfast. Further afield, Kingston has amazing Resto's - Woodenheads, Chez Piggy and Fort Henry is fun with Kids. The boat cruise in Gananoque is good fun, remember your passport to be able to see Boldt Castle. There are some decent Resto's around, Riva, The Gananoque Inn. Brockville has the best Fish in Chips this side of the pond @ Don's Fish and Chips down by blockhouse Island. A nice road trip is to drive to Brockville for some fish, then drive the parkway to Rockport for a cold pint at Cornwalls Pub. Then on to Gananoque and for a boat cruise and perhaps some dinner. The ladies in our family like the shopping and cafe's in the town of Westport. But, in my humble opinion the finest thing you can do is spend a lazy afternoon in the hammock with a good book and some ice cold beers.
  • We had a great and comfortable stay at Troy's and Elena's cottage. It had all what we needed for a relaxing Family day weekend. The cottage is spacious, super quiet and the views all around are amazing. Troy and Elena were prompt with responding to any questions, thanks!

  • This cottage was the perfect place for some quiet solitude. I had all of my questions answered faster than I could possibly have expected. I'm looking forward to coming back again!

  • Nice quiet spot with gorgeous views. Windows all around in living room makes for lovely views - be sure to catch a sunrise! Town is super close for any needs.

  • Love the area. Very relaxing!

    Ingrid2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage on a beautiful lake in a lovely area. What a wonderful place for a stay in autumn.

    David2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great get away in the woods, lake on three sides of the cottage. Boat and kayak on site for use. Place is super quiet except for birds the critters in the forest. The cottage is very cozy with all working amenities super fast WiFi and large tv. The kitchen is well equipped and there is also a propane grill for bbq. Small fireplace in the living room and a bonfire in the yard for those night hangouts. Troy gives you your utmost privacy but is still within communication.m reach should yo need him. Will definitely be back to “our cabin in the woods”

    Stefen2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Very clean and private. The host is extremely helpful. Also a good place for some fishing.

    Reg2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We just got back from a 3 night stay at Troy’s cottage. What a beautiful place - from the clean air conditioned and spacious cottage itself (with two decent size bedrooms and two full bathrooms) to the serene surroundings. The location of this cottage is incredible - first, you get lots of privacy and so very peaceful, and second, it’s surrounded by water on both sides. So you get a very nice view in the morning and evening. My husband love fishing off the dock, he managed to catch quite a few - some small and some big ones but then again he’s got lots of patient, he could stay out there for hours. We also took advantage of the provided row boats, it was a nice added touch and a good experience for both our kids. Forgot to mention, the WIFI reception is amazing, very strong - we could even listen to our YouTube playlist out by the dock. One tip: Bring all your groceries before heading to the cottage as the market down the street have very limited supplies and may not carry what you need. Overall we had a wonderful time and very restful experience at Troy’s - love that it’s clean, love that there’s AC, WIFI and the feel of being in the middle of the woods - we would definitely love to return!

Bright clean cottage with a big yard and great fishing. Close to Beverly Lake Park, Kingston, Brockville, Gananoque, Ottawa. Great place to get away and re-charge. It's great for couples, families, and furry friends (pets). There are stairs to the water and a couple decks to enjoy. Note: These are housekeeping cottages, so you need to bring all sheets, towels, toilet paper etc. and you are expected to do a light cleaning before you leave.
  • Beautiful, secluded waterfront property, would recommend for any season. Troy was great to deal with, answered texts or calls immediately.

  • Very comfortable and cozy, excellent communication with host and cottage clean with the required amenities. Would definitely return again.

    Suzanne2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We went here during the Thanksgiving long weekend. The view itself warrants a 5 star especially with the fall colours all around. The lake was gorgeous this time of year and you can clearly see both the sun and moon rising over it. Communication and check-in was great. Enough instructions were provided before hand but also during our stay as the instructions were printed and framed on the wall for easy referencing. Mel and his wife live on the same property so we were greeted when we arrived but also when we left. The place was well stocked with all the essentials needed. We enjoyed bbq’ing and hanging out by the outdoor fireplace. If there is one area to improve upon would be cleanliness particularly the pans that when we pulled out were still greasy. It was no problem for us, we just rinsed and washed but for some might be an issue. Overall, this was a gorgeous spot that provided us with a much needed unplugging from the hustle and bustle.

    Kenneth2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views! Great spot. Spacious cabin and great location.

    Michelle2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a beautiful place. Mel gave us recommendations for everything. Arrival was hassle free and easy. Everything was very clean and we got to use the canoes! We'll surely come back if we pass by again.

    Cristina2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins provide a rustic setting with great views of the lake. Free use of paddle boats, kayaks, canoes with BBQ grills and woodfire pits are top amenities. Taught my girls how to fish, catching and releasing loads of sunfish right off the dock. Bass were also to be had.

Place was easy to get into with door code and everything inside was labeled for ease, Aaron responded promptly! Would come again!! Had a great time :))

There was nothing missing and Aaron communicated everything clearly and accurately and even checked in on us within 24 hours. Highly recommended as a calm complete getaway!

Tremolo Island is just the place to sit back and enjoy the amazing views while you let your dog or dogs run free! A private one acre island with a large, open concept main house and a one room bunkie at the back of the island. It has all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. Herons, loons, otters and ducks are your constant companions. Pets are welcome, particularly dogs. The fishing is great! There is a canoe and 2 kayaks. Conveniences nearby. Located in the Rideau Lakes region!
Tremolo Island is just that, an island, tucked back into a little bay at the eastern end of Sand Lake in Elgin, Ontario. The island has wooden walkways throughout, which makes getting around easy. The main house is open concept floor plan with a sleeping loft that makes you feel like you are in a tree house and another sleeping space downstairs. There is plenty of room for tents! There is a fully equipped kitchen, hot and cold running water, Wifi and a television for viewing DVD's. There is a bunkhouse or "bunkie" at the back of the island which sleeps 2 comfortably and with another loft space that can sleep 4 with sleeping bags and mats. Next to the bunkie is a firepit for roasting marshmallows and singing round the campfire. The main house has a wrap-around deck that reaches almost to the water, allowing you to feel that you are on a boat. The views are spectacular, sunsets the best. There is also a flower garden at the center of the island; it is another place to sit and relax.
The closest town is Elgin, about 10 minutes from Sand Lake Marine or the concession, where you can find Gordineer's Grocery Store, a hardware store, drug store and liquor store. Nearby is also Wendy's Farm Market, an organic farm with amazing produce, cheeses, meats and home-baked goods. The lovely town of Westport is only 30 minutes away by car but you could always wend your way up the Rideau Canal to Westport and see how the lake lock system works!
  • Great place (this was our return visit). From enjoying quiet morning coffee on the dock and watching the beavers and loons, to swimming in the amazingly clear lake, this place is truly relaxing. Carol is a great host and very responsive. Family had a great time and we will return again.

    Alex2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice comfortable cottage in a fantastic setting. We loved it so much we are booking it again for next summer

    Roger2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a peaceful retreat with stunning water views then this is the place for you. Carol was a great host and checked in with us to make sure all was well. This was our second stay on the island and we loved every tranquil moment. We used the kayaks and canoe provided to explore the bay and nature. There are lots of great fishing spots and amazing sunsets. The cottage is rustic but has all of the amenities you need for a low-key, relaxing vacation.

    Danette2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tremolo Island is a dream! A secluded, private island cottage with everything you could possibly need for a perfect, relaxing week. Each time we thought, “oh, we forgot ____ and could really use it,” suddenly it seemed to appear. Spent so many hours just sitting on the deck staring out at the water, watching the boats in the distance, the ducks, and the loons. But then also, spent hours kayaking or boating around the lake, with many little hidden spots to explore, and amazing fishing (caught a small-mouth bass right off the deck!). The cottage itself was very cute and had all we needed and plenty of space. Definitely hope to be back someday.

    Alison2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely breathtaking views with private island and cozy accommodation! Highly recommend!

    David2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Carol was a wonderful host. The cottage was simple, rustic, and equipped with everything we needed for a week-long family vacation. The dogs and kids had a great weekend exploring the island and I felt they were very safe there due to not being able to wander off. The Bunkie was an added bonus as well. It allowed us and the in laws to each have a space for sleep. Sitting on the deck on Tremolo island is so amazing. I saw the best sunsets. Carol was quick to communicate with us when questions were asked and very helpful and caring. Thank you for a great week!

    Tabatha2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay! Exactly what a cottage should be. Rustic and relaxing with stunning views. Spent many hours simply looking out over the lake. Accurately described. Lots of places to explore with a nice swimming spot. Will definitely be back!

  • Our stay was wonderful at Tromolo island. There was plenty of room for my family of 5 plus our dog, who loved being able to run and jump in the water. We would definitely return to Tromolo island! The surroundings were relaxing beautiful. The boardwalks were in excellent shape and were very helpful going from place to place on the island!

Easy access to water and walking trails on 260 acres of undeveloped woodlands. Best suited to nature lovers, privacy seekers, and fishermen, or just a romantic weekend getaway.
Guests have exclusive use of the cottage, and it's deck, as well as a waterfront deck/sitting area. There is a fire pit at the cottage and firewood is provided. Gas BBQ on the deck with propane provided.
We are in a beautiful wooded area along the Rideau canal. The area has much to offer guests with the Jones Falls locks just a km. away by water. There is a Black Smith foundry which offers historic tours. Directly across the lake from your cabin is the deepest part of the lake with rocks cliffs for those who are brave enough to dive. The popular hiking spot known as Rock Dunder is also on this area of the lake (google Rock Dunder!) and can be accessed either by car in the village of Morton, or by canoe or rowboat provided (less than a km.) Life jackets in assorted sizes are provided. There is also a trail on our own property which leads you to a high rock with spectacular views of the lake. Grocery store with in store bakery, liquor store, pharmacy, bank and hardware store approximately 10 km. drive. For shoppers there are unique shops in both Newboro and Westport, less than 20 km away. Thousand Island tourist area, 30 minutes by car. And of course, Kingston offers a multitude of activities, destinations, and second to none restaurants. We would suggest the Kingston Penitentiary Tour, (reservations required) , Fort Henry, and farmers market and free movies and concerts in the downtown waterfront area.
  • Our stay at Nick’s place was amazing, Nick and Jeanie are awesome hosts ! The location is great, Nick took us on a fall tour on his boat to see the colours on the lake, these people care about their hosts. This place is a must do if you want a nice cottage on a lake !

    Andrea2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous location. Peaceful and quiet. Nick and Jeanie are wonderful hosts. Took us on a lovely boat tour of the lake and taught us about the local history which was fascinating.

  • We had a wonderful time with Nick and Jeanie. The house is wonderfully secluded in the middle of nature. The hosts are great and take care of their guests.

  • Nick and Jeanie are fantastic hosts, very thoughtful. The location was perfect, so peaceful. The hummingbirds where adorable, we enjoyed watching them every morning while having a coffee outside and the sounds of the Loons was so pretty to hear. Canoeing was awesome! We highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to be surrounded by nature.

    Aaron2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great mini vacation! The cottage was spacious and well stocked. Nick and Jeanie let us use their canoe, and also gave us the option to use their dock if we wanted to. We visited Jones Falls and Rock Dunder which were each about a 15 minute drive away. The Rock Dunder hike was several hours long and supplied some gorgeous views! Definitely worth it. The water by the cottage was nice and warm, though a bit weedy at the beginning. Overall, it was a great way to unplug. Feeling very refreshed!

    Anna2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

White Fish Lake is on a chain of beautiful lakes, rivers and locks (otherwise known as the Rideau Canal) extending over 200 kms from Kingston to Ottawa, Canada’s Capital City and is located approximately 90 minutes from Ottawa, 30 minutes from Kingston, 30 minutes from the Canadian/US border (Thousand Islands Bridge) and 2 1/2 hours from Toronto. The lake itself is one of the largest lakes available for exploration and enjoyment between locks. It has great fishing for Large and Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Bluegill, Catfish, Perch and Sunfish. Area highlights include historic Kingston with Old Fort Henry, Rock Dunder Trail (highest point in Ontario), Westport with many artisanal shops and restaurants and hiking trails. There are also several golf courses close by. Hotel Kenny (closed for the 2019 season) and the locks at Jones Falls are just a short walk away. Boats of all shapes and sizes are transported up and down four levels (at 58.4 feet this is the highest lift of any lock station on the Rideau), there’s also a visitors center, lockmaster house, and great Stone Arch Dam to visit and places to swim. In winter time, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobiling are popular with a groomed snowmobile trail that goes right past the property for over 220 kms.
  • House is clean, beautiful and has everything you need. Surroundings are magnificent. You can rent a boat and see the hole lake (big one!). The only thing I missed was wifi, it's nice to have non social media evenings but if you want to look for things to do it's a bit difficult. Would rate it 9,5/10!!!

    Jonas2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific brand new place with excellent hosts and lots of amenities.

    Rob2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Great hosts. Very clean. My grand children enjoyed a lot

    Elisabeth2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and his wife Patty were exceptional hosts, and added extra touches. The space was impeccably clean and although it's a basement it's bright, the windows are very large and you get excellent views even from the bedrooms. It was cool and comfortable in the heat and warm on the chilly nights. We saw white swans, hawks, loon, great blue heron and even a turtle and hedgehog right from the front deck! We used the kayak to go out swimming because there were a lot of weeds around the dock both growing from the bottom and blowing in, forming mats. They said they were going to get a rake to help move some away. We enjoyed the "lower deck" in the shade, the BBQ, and the campfire at night. It was a relaxing place for our women's weekend!

The "Love Nest" is a cozy, rustic bohemian style apartment that used to be a workshop and is now a 3 story getaway. It has been carefully restored and decorated to create a feeling of peace and wellbeing.
Chaffey's Lock is a quaint small village. You will be just steps away from many beautiful sights including the Mill Art Gallery, the Opinicon Restaurant & Ice Cream Shop, Chaffey's lock-station where you will view many kinds of boats "locking through" the hand operated locks, the LockMaster's House Museum and the Cataraqui Trail - part of the TransCanada trail system.
  • The Love Nest is the sweetest, most rustic, cozy spot imaginable. We came in on a chilly November night to the wood stove going & warm glow from the lamps around, couldn’t have been a better welcoming. Henry & Veronika were also the sweetest; though we didn’t get to meet, they left us hot coffee for our first morning and were super responsive in checking in on us. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your meals, and Chaffeys Lock is literally a 2 minute walk down the street. We stopped in at the Opinicon for a Baileys hot chocolate after a chilly wander around, which was also a nice experience. The loft bed is sweet, the aesthetics are on point, can’t recommend the Love Nest more for a cozy stay.

    Louisa2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so wonderful to stay in! Henry and Veronika are wonderful and welcoming hosts. We arrived to the fire burning in their adorable little Love Nest which was such a cute and cozy space, decorated with lovely touches. Their place is within walking distance from the locks and a few other places, including some beautiful walking trails and the Opinicon (a great place to walk over for dinner and drinks - incredibly friendly staff and delicious food.) Henry and Veronika were even kind enough to invite us to a birthday party they were hosting for their neighbour, and it was a pleasure to meet the local people - everyone was so kind and lovely! I would highly recommend staying here and I would love to return some day!

    Melissa2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Although we didn’t get to interact much with Henry And Veronika, they were beyond helpful with attending to our needs. We had lots of privacy and it was exactly what we were hoping for!

    Tiffany2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little spot just a minute walk from the picturesque Chaffeys Lock and access to the Cataraqui trail. Veronika was available when we arrived to walk us through how to use the wood stove and generally how to heat the cabin. Walk over to the Opinicon resort for a great dinner and live music on Friday nights (we’d recommend the pub over the dining room for a more lively atmosphere). Also leave time to check out the resort grounds. Driving about 30-40 minutes will take you nearby towns like Perth (totally worth checking out). We cooked a few meals as well and the kitchen has more than enough tools and equipment (no oven but there is a bbq outside) just make sure you bring oil and condiments (pb, Jan, etc.). Incredibly peaceful surroundings with nothing but crickets and birds to wake you in the morning. Great stay and we can’t wait to come back!

    Lily2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Henry & Veronika for the amazing hospitality! We would love to return again in future!

Nesled among the white pines, this cozy 3 bdrm cottage is just steps from the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal. Excellent swimming, fishing, paddling, cycling and hiking. A 2-3 min walk to the water and to the general store, Brown's Marina, Lockmaster Museum, the Mill Art Gallery, the Cataraqui Trail, Dorothy's Lodge and the Opinicon Resort. Your hosts also operate Rideau Canal Boat tours and offer bike, kayak, canoe and stand-up paddleboard rentals onsite.
There is often wonderful live outdoor music in the neighbourhood and lots of boat and pedestrian traffic since the cottage is in the village so close to the Locks. Deer, racoons, porcupine and chipmunks make regular visits around the cottage and you will hear the loons calling in the evening. Bring a fishing rod for some great bass fishing! (fishing licenses. available at Brown's Marina just steps away).

  • Full disclosure: I didn’t stay at Anne Marie’s. Rather, she hosted overflow guests for our wedding at the nearby Opinicon. Anne Marie was wonderful to communicate with, friendly and helpful, and even organized a boat trip for our friends and family. Our guests were happy with their stay, they found the place cozy, clean, and beautifully located.

    Alex2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great cottage, great value! Four of us stayed at Anne-Marie's cottage for a weekend wedding at the nearby Opinicon Lodge, which was only a two minute walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay there again. Perfect for 4 adults, plus could have 2 kids in the bunk beds as well, if needed.

    Martha2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, every amenity needed. It is situated on a lake where our fishing guide easily picked us up. And it is 1 block from the Opinicon Hotel for delicious food and ice cream store. Location very quiet. Washer/dryer huge help for post fishing. Owner lives next door for help if needed. WIFI worked well.

    Kathy And Steve2019-09-05T00:00:00Z

Welcome to Whitefish Lake. I am offering my 5 year old cottage for rent. It is a family owned property on the Historic Rideau Canal, a short distance from many local attractions: - Rock Dunder -Jones Falls - Westport - Opinicon at Chaffeys Locks - Newboro I have a dock for your use which can be used for swimming or docking your boat. I also provide a propane BBQ, canoe, paddle board and 2 youth kayaks.
This log cabin is a recent build. It is comfortably spacious and provides lots of space indoors and outdoors for your lake getaway. Sleeping more than 5 guests may be possible. Please contact me about how I can help accommodate your group.
My cottage sits in a quiet and private setting surrounded by trees on 3 sides and water at the front. You can enjoy the boat traffic, watch for wildlife, fish and swim off the dock, enjoy a coffee by the water, or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet on the deck with a book.

  • We had a lovely stay at Allison's cottage. It was clean, private, and spacious. We went on a walk around the property to a lookout which was really beautiful. Check in and out was really easy and the instructions to find the cottage were great. The water was weedy by the dock and shore, but the centre of the lake was a short float away.

Enjoy rustic charm and relaxation at our waterfront cottage - soak up sun on the waterfront deck, find excellent fishing, roast some marshmallows, or do them all! The cottage is located on Scott’s Island on the beautiful Clear Lake which is along the historic Rideau Canal between Chaffey's and Newboro Locks.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms each with a double bed, as well as two double pull-out sofas, so it easily sleeps 8. However, the property offers plenty of room if you wanted to pitch a tent. The rental includes use of the following: – sun deck & private dock – 16 ft fishing boat w/ an electric start motor, great for fishing on the five connected lakes – raft for swimming & paddle boat for exploring the lake – fire pit for roasting marshmallows – gas BBQ, picnic table & patio set
The cottage is located on Scott's Island, making it very peaceful. The island is approx. 1500 acres with about 45 other cottages. It's about a ten minute drive to Elgin (grocery store), 15 minutes to Newboro (Kilborn's is a must for shoppers), and 20 minutes to Westport (more shopping & restaurants).
  • Thank you so much Cathy & Bruce for letting us spend the weekend at your cottage! We arrived late (11pm) on Friday night and they were extremely accommodating. The stay comes with your own little fishing boat (as long as someone has a licence) so you can get around the lake and to your car easily. The cottage itself is rustic and charming. We loved having meals on the deck overlooking the water during the day, a fire outside at night followed by a movie and some board games inside. The lake is beautiful; there are some awesome jumping rocks, a marina with everything you need, and lots of fishing and picturesque views. We also brought our dog and she had the best time! Bruce let us know that their own dogs would likely stop by in the morning and say hello. Lexi and Dakota are so friendly, Reina loved playing with them. 100% will be coming back here. Can’t thank you both enough for an excellent stay!

    Kolynna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot for a fishing weekend! Very nice area for fishing and hanging out by the water, great sun deck and fire pit. Bruce was very helpful, I'd come back.

  • Cathy and Bruce, Thank you for the wonderful stay. We really enjoyed all the aspects that your little slice of heaven had to offer. Being able to enjoy our mornings with such a beautiful view was definitely a highlight. The cottage was comfortable, clean and fully equipped. The spacious family room was very cozy. Sorry again for the booking and arrival confusion. Definitely a learning experience for us being new to Airbnb. Thank you for making our first experience so great!

  • If your looking for a quiet and serene place for a vacation this is definitely the place to be. Our hosts were extremely nice and helpful. The short ride over to the cottage was enjoyable, the lakes are beautiful and having a boat at our disposal was perfect! Bruce was there to meet us and help us to bring our things over to the cottage We highly recommend a stay here as we LOVED it so much!

    Joe2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic time! Bruce was incredibly accommodating! The sun deck was amazing!

    Mitchell2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • You will find Cathy and Bruce to be great host. Their cottage offers much more than others in the same price range and is ready to be used - you don't have to bring half your home kitchen along, this cottage is well supplied with everything needed. Great location with quick and easy access to seven other lakes. I've been fishing and vacationing on this very lake for nearly 25 years and have now found a new "home."

    John2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce and Cathy were incredibly kind and accommodating, while their property was great. The cottage is well maintained and located in a great spot on the lake. It comes fully loaded with virtually everything you'll need and Bruce/Cathy were more than willing to answer any questions we had throughout our time there.

Stay at one of the original summer estates on Indian Lake. This beautiful log cottage and lovely secondary white cottage stand amidst towering pines, overlooking one of the prettiest views on the Rideau. Lake frontage of 275 feet offers excellent swimming, sunbathing, diving right off the large dock, a sunny Western exposure and a stunning sunset view. This pair of cottages together makes this the perfect spot for large families, up to 12, or for two families holidaying together. Twelve is max.
Our pair of cottages, rented as one unit, share the dock, boathouse, laundry, telephone and grounds. A smaller kitchen in the white cottage is good for breakfasts. The road is very private, nothing but forest across the road. One neighbour's cottage is visible from the veranda. You will see some boat traffic on the lake plying the canal route or water skiing or sailing.

  • Spotless well appointed little cottage in the center of a quiet little town. We came in by canoe on the rideau and the owner had no problem with us storing the canoe on the property. Perfect for 2 or 4 (mezzanine upstairs) full kitchen. Did I say spotless!!!! Visit the chocolate store across the street from the grocery store a few doors down! No cable or WiFi but it’s nice to unplug once in a while. Very well laid out and bigger than the pics make it out. Would stay here again

  • Lovely, quiet, and quaint. This location worked so well after attending a wedding in the area.

  • Clean comfortable spot in the middle of town, close to a restaurant and grocery store. Great spot to launch off from to walk local trails and see performers in one of the Festivals of Small Halls events. The house is very comfortable, clean and has all the amenities one requires. The added touch of having coffee, creamers etc for the morning was a bonus!

The towns are no more than 20 minutes to the next nearest town. Each town has a grocery store and Liquor Store and at least one restaurant. I find Google Maps to be a great resource for finding local businesses and the hours of operation. look on Google Maps when at the cottage and type in "restaurants", or "beer store" etc, and it will show you the locations and hours of operation for most of the businesses in the area. Elgin is the closest town with a grocery store, liquor store, hardware store and a pizzeria, but Chaffey's Lock is also very close and it has a convenience store and restaurant.

A very secluded, rustic cottage set on a beautiful private lake in Elgin, Ontario Not too far from Kingston, Cornwall, Brockville, Ottawa, and Toronto. No public access to this lake, located on Crow Lake. Experience great hiking and excellent fishing (large & small mouth bass) in fresh air while surrounded by woodlands and rivers that only a few have enjoyed.
Rustic waterfront cabin with basic amenities (running lake water for showers and dishes, outhouse, and cooking appliances). It is filtered from the lake but not drinkable water - bring bottles. A sofa in living room (you could sleep on this if you like) two bedrooms - one with twin size bunk bed and a queen bed in the other, an additional mattress can be provided upon request. A peaceful atmosphere, great fishing and stargazing. Great for a couple's getaway, a family, or a group of travellers - anyone looking to get away for a peaceful retreat or fun adventure in nature. The cabin sleeps 4 comfortably unless you want to add an additional guest on the couch (please inform us of this prior to booking) you can also pitch a tent nearby but we ask extra guests are discussed. The area is amazing for bird watchers, photographers, and nature lovers. There is a private “swimming hole” a ten minute walk from the cottage so guests may enjoy the lake in an area free of weeds and algae - entirely rock in this area. Or you can jump in right off the dock if you don’t mind some plants! Please note the path to the swimming hole is through the woods. We advise guests to wear bug spray and covered clothing through this to avoid ticks. Once reached, the swimming area is a grass clearing and rocky entrance to the lake. Guests are permitted to bring their own boats, kayaks and canoes as well. There is great fishing in this area! Live bait is available in the nearby town and there are many beautiful beaches nearby as well if you want to explore the area. Outside of the cabin, there is a fire-pit, a picnic table, a dock. Inside the cabin, the kitchen includes a sink with cold and hot water (do not drink), a propane stove, and a propane fridge/freezer. There is a kitchen table that seats 6, kettle, coffee maker, dishes and cutlery, pots, pans....etc Linens, soap, towels, pillows provided. Please bring your own toiletries. In the living room, there is a couch and small recliner, a wood stove, and books for a rainy afternoon. Outside of the cabin on the front deck there is a BBQ and patio set. Please note there is an outhouse, and an outdoor shower (with a great view and hot water!) available for you to use, but NO INDOOR BATHROOM. :) The cabin is at the back of the property so it is located on the waterfront and private, but we aren't far if you need us. Please note that we may need to stop by once or twice throughout your stay to re-fill the generator with fuel (located in the woods across the cottage). We can always be reached by phone or the air b n b app. We are happy to chat and answer questions. Ask us for a tour! The cabin is a short drive from Kingston (35 minutes), Gananoque and the Thousand Islands (20 minutes), and Elgin (20 minutes). Local attractions include the Historic Jones Falls Locks, hiking at Rock Dunder, the Delta Mill, and Charleston Lake Provincial Park. Parking is free. As well, you can launch your boat into the lake here! Children are welcome but the cabin and area are not baby-proofed. Stores close early around here so you may want to pick up groceries and supplies on your way here. The nearby town does have a liquor and grocery store, as well as a local restaurant.
The nearby town Elgin, ON is a 20 minute drive away and can supply all necessities including: groceries, pharmacy, liquor store, a restaurant, and other supplies. Stores close early.
  • What a great cottage experience this was. Completely secluded in its own cove on a private lake with only a couple other cottages on the other side of the lake. We virtually had the entire lake to ourselves to explore. We spent a lot of time at the swimming hole and canoeing the lake. There’s also plenty of wildlife including Bald Eagles, Osprey, deer, porcupine and a pair of Loons which we enjoyed hearing at the fire pit every evening. The cottage itself had everything we needed and communication with the host was prompt and helpful. The kids and our dogs had a great time exploring and we absolutely look forward to returning in the future.

  • A wilderness paradise! We had a really lovely week staying at Mallory’s cabin. We had some really amazing encounters with wildlife (deer, loons, osprey, wild turkeys, dragonflies, fireflies...the list is too long to put it all in here). The cabin is very secluded and private. Great south facing view to watch stars at night and clouds in the day. The lake is clean and pristine, and has great fishing. We mostly swam from the “swimming hole”, as the weeds near the cabin are pretty thick by August. I like to distance swim, so this was a great lake for me, as there are so few cabins on the lake, that there was almost no boat traffic to speak of! There’s a rock in the middle of the lake to stand on and take a break. Dave really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. If we had any questions or issues, he responded right away (I did have some text capability with Bell from the property). The cabin itself is clean, rustic, and has all the necessities. The outdoor shower is amazing! We loved taking a shower while looking out into the woods. We really hope we can come back again next year!

    Sarah2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really love how peaceful and relaxing Mallory & Dave’s place is. It’s a good way to spend a week unplugged surrounded in nature. Dave is super friendly, helpful and very accommodating. This was our second visit and we will deff be back again. We had some visitors which included several owls, bald eagles, hawks, deer, otters and a beaver. Also the stars at night are amazing and we even lucked out & saw a meteor shower! We spent a lot of our time fishing, swimming & relaxing on the deck. We will continue to come back for as long as it is available. Thank you Mallory and Dave!!

    Lacey2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with very secluded and private location. Good fishing on the lake

    Zach2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a whole week at Mallory’s cottage and it was fantastic. The cottage is located in a secluded bay shared only with the wildlife and plenty of it. Our 8 yr old was completely entertained with catching frogs, tadpoles, crickets, snakes and fishing off the dock. Swimming by the dock is quite weedy so we did go to the rocky swim spot suggested by Mallory and Dave which is located out of the bay and it was perfect. The cottage itself is cozy and equipped with all the necessities. And we too enjoyed the outdoor shower. Water pressure is not like at home but there was something invigorating about it. Thanks so much Mallory and Dave!

    Chantal2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing time at Mallory’s cottage, it was very hard for us to pack up our belongings and leave. The pictures really don’t do it justice. It’s very secluded and full of wildlife. The outdoor shower was probably my favourite part! The cottage was clean and cozy, equipped with all the necessities. Dave & Mallory we’re both extremely friendly and helpful. Dave met us and set us up with everything we would need as well as gave us a tour of the surrounding area. We spent lots of time fishing and relaxing on the dock. There is also a really nice rocky area to swim nearby on hot days. We spent five nights here and didn’t leave the property once! Tons to explore! We are planning our trip back ASAP! Thanks Mallory and Dave!

    Lacey2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is perfect for people looking for a private, rustic getaway. We were able to canoe the entire lake, only seeing one other boat the whole time. Mallory and Dave are extremely accommodating and helpful. We had a great weekend!

  • Relaxing. Quiet. Soul filling. This home is MORE than it shows in the pictures. It is a gem - providing a feeling of a peaceful, loving home. Everything you could possibly need is there. Bedding and towels were provided so no need to pack all these bulky extras. There are cards and games, kayaks, life jackets, a beautiful fire pit for a campfire. The house was extremely clean. No noisy neighbours, no issues at all. It was the perfect spot for my family.

  • Absolutely stunning indeed and so tranquil, even more so than the photographs suggest. There is a beautiful new private jetty from which to launch the kayaks and moor up boats to explore the extensive system of lakes. The house is clean and well equipped and we had such a wonderful stay - we couldn't recommend it enough.

  • Liesel was an amazing host! The cottage was perfect; it was clean and cozy and the lakeview was beautiful. Breakfast on the bench on the dock was especially nice. Not to mention, Liesel was superb at replying to questions right away, which was incredibly helpful! Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing waterfront cottage, completely renovated in 2016. Paradise! Our cottage, "The Gathering Cottage", is the perfect place to get together with family and friends. 200 ft of park-like shore on beautiful Sand Lake (part of the Rideau Canal System). Fun & space for everyone. Rental includes a canoe, 4 kayaks and a stand-up paddle board for our guests to explore the lake.
Our retreat on Sand Lake is a place to disconnect and be together. Sure there’s WIFI and a TV/DVD but that's not what cottage life is about. We have lots of games to play, and plenty of spots to hangout, relax or curl up with a good book - just disconnect! All of that before you even hit the lake, the dock or have a campfire. This property was completely renovated from top to bottom in 2016. This is your chance to share a cottage with friends, or get together with extended family, and allow everyone to still have their own space! Amazing park-like setting with almost 200 feet of waterfront in Powell’s Bay of Sand Lake, on the Rideau Canal system. • Great spot - beautiful views over a lovely lake. Was very close to a caravan park, but this was not an issue and there was no noise at all. Really comfortable living spaces and very comfortable beds. Overall a wonderful stay and we would not hesitate to return.

  • The house is amazing so does the surrounding. It is beautiful and relaxing location on the lake. What you’ll see in the photos is accurate. Just bring drinking water and towers and you are set for your vacation. Mark, Thank you for all the tips and detailed instructions. Avi

    Avi2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience! Three levels of spacious bedrooms and bathrooms! Very comfortable beds, pillows and bedding. Many spacious sitting areas inside (our favourite was the porch) and a fully stocked kitchen. Outside had great spaces to cook, eat, relax, play, fish and soak up the sun. With two fire areas (one by the water and the other by the house and outdoor eating area) you couldn’t go wrong. Now to the best part...the boathouse! Stocked with a stand up paddle board, 4 adult kayaks (2 sit on and 2 sit in) also a junior kayak, a canoe and many life jackets to choose from. We also took the rental of the fishing boat and I’m so thankful that we did. With early morning fishing trips, afternoon sightseeing and evening fishing/sunset adventures it was well worth it. I was a bit concerned that there was a camp/trailer park and boat launch right beside the cottage but it was not a problem at all. It was so quiet you hardly even knew it was there. We headed into Elgin, barely 5min drive, for groceries and LCBO, both were very well stocked. We also visited the recommended town of Westport and it was lovely. With 8 people (3 generations) all loving our stay, we hope to be back next year.

  • Don’t hesitate, book! The Gathering Cottage is beautifully decorated, very clean, the two bathrooms are huge, top quality kitchen supplies, spacious, comfortable beds, and the cool lake breeze keeps the home comfortable. The three large pine trees down by the lake provided all day shade. We enjoyed the quiet, peaceful lake and surroundings. Off the sunny dock we swam and snorkeled every day. The fishing was fantastic! Most of all the hosts are amazing. If you want the perfect vacation, this is it.

Private setting with unique rural surrounds. within reaching distance of great small towns and cities.
There isn't any close neighboring cottages. very private with a nice flow of boat traffic in front of the property.
  • We chose this lake house for a family gathering over Thanksgiving- we comfortably seated 8 adults at the table and 7 teens at the kitchen island for a memorable feast. The kitchen was super clean and well-appointed and has a great stove and fridge/freezer. All bedrooms and baths where perfectly clean and made up with good quality linens and lots of pillows on comfortable beds. But best of all- it was cold and blustery weekend- the house is snug and warm, well-insulated against the Canadian winter! It is also close to great prov. parks (Murphy's Point & Charleston Lake) with great walks, and some lovely lake country towns (Lyndhurst and Delta), and it's easy to get to from the 401. Google maps locate the property correctly. Apple maps - not so much. It is a peaceful, quiet retreat from city life (no wifi!) I recommend Justin's place to groups of 6-8 who want to tether themselves to reality, connect with each other and disconnect from the internet.

  • We stayed recently for a long weekend, our host was very accommodating and helpful. The cottage is very well maintained and the view was spectacular! • This location is absolutely stunning! The views from the deck are beautiful. There were a pair of loons I saw just off the dock each day, who serenaded me to sleep at night and greeted me every morning. The kayaking was ideal....quiet and serene this time of year. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the cottage was very clean.

Our newly-built cottage sits on a bluff overlooking a lake that is a fisher's paradise. This off-grid home is an ideal spot for an adventurous couple, especially if you are avid paddlers and hikers. You will see eagles, loons, turtles, partridge, owls, and many other species from our 26 foot deck. There are 2 kayaks, a canoe and an old rowboat for you to explore miles of shoreline. Our cottage is in a remote setting, with 50 acres of prime Canadian shield surrounding it.
The property is for wilderness -lovers who want to truly unplug from the distractions of urban life. (Cellphone reception is not always reliable.) Due to its rugged location, guests must be physically fit and have no mobility issues. There are stairs inside the cottage as well as to the waterfront. The cottage has one self-contained bedroom, one upstairs loft bedroom, a sunroom, and a combined living room/dining room/kitchen. There is a wood stove for chilly nights. The kitchen is equipped with a propane gas range and solar refrigerator, as well as a quartz counter.
The land has many granite outcrops, sweeping views, lovely forest paths, and miles of waterfront to explore. Off-site, you can visit the Rideau canal and its locks, historic mills, and quaint villages with good restaurants and shops. We rent this property only once in the summer; it is a beloved family cottage which we keep for our own use the rest of the time.

  • Jeremys cottage is one of our best experience since we started traveling with Airbnb! Everything was more than great! The place is just a paradise!!! Thank you very much for the amazing time!

  • Jeremy's place was great. It was a fantastic spot right on the water. He had several cottage amenities that he let us use which greatly improved our experience. Overall this is a great cottage to book as a vacation escape. Jeremy was increadibly responsive and helpful. Further, he is has a great system in place for letting guests know how to live in the cottage area.

  • Jeremy’s place is a 5 star experience. If your looking for some beauty, peace and tranquility.... to get away and get some peace in your mind.. then this is your place to go. The rustic cottage is perfect for this lake side setting...... I used Jeremy ‘a cottage for a (4) person Executive retreat... Thanks Jeremy, you are a great host.

  • We had a great long weekend at Jeremy's place. There is some beautiful outdoor space- a deck, a dock and a bonfire area- all with great views. We spent a lot of time in the canoe, and when it rained- there were plenty of games to play inside! We had a really nice, relaxing time.

  • We stayed at Jeremy's place late August 2018. It was our first time cottaging on the Rideau Lakes. We really liked the location, ie proximity to Kingston and smaller towns for supplies. The only sightseeing we did was to visit the Jones Falls stone arch dam. It was impressive and I would recommend a visit. My favourite aspect of the property was its location on the lake. I really like the way the cottage it situated on rock faces right over the lake. The way the deck projects out onto the lake gives you a 180 degree view. We definitely spent a lot of time chilling on that deck! Jeremy was a very pleasant and hospitable host. He was ready to answer any questions and address any issues.

  • place is exactly what my friends and I were looking for. It's very quiet at night and is quite nice. Lots of fishing activity on the lake. firepit was very well set up and stocked. Jeremy himself is a stand-up guy and is very flexible. everyone in our group enjoyed their stay and really liked the host as well as the location. 5/5 on all accounts.

  • Our family of 5 spend 3 nights at Jeremy's cottage in mid-August, 2018. We loved the 70's/80's vibe and were impressed by how clean it was! We enjoyed campfires at night with the wood Jeremy left for us (thanks!). We also enjoyed playing the board games that were left in one of the bedrooms. The waterfront is pretty weedy at this time of year and wasn't swimmable for the kids, but luckily we had a boat with us and were able to take a short ride over to Morton's cove where there are a bunch of great spots for jumping off rocks into the water. The kids also really enjoyed "catching" fish, a water snake and frogs in their nets down by the dock and spent hours each day doing this. Jeremy was quick to respond to any questions I had for him during our stay. Overall, it was a great few days of relaxing with my family! Thanks!

Experience a holiday you'll never forget on the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 1842, the stone defensible lockmaster's house at Davis Lockstation has been rehabilitated to the highest standards, offering a unique, self-catering holiday experience. Situated on high land overlooking the locks, the house accommodates up to six people with two bedrooms and a pull-out sofa and provides spectacular views of Sand Lake!
Luxuriously equipped with Queen-sized Fairmont Hotel mattresses, a clawfoot tub, custom kitchen and laundry facilities, the Lockmaster's house is the ultimate romantic getaway for two, or a family vacation in the heart of the Rideau Lakes. Complete with a deck, private dock and a canoe, a stay in the historic Lockmaster's House at Davis Lockstation offers an unforgettable experience Colonel John By would be envious of! Davis Lockstation is located a short senic drive from the villages of Elgin, Newboro, and Westport, thirty minutes from the City of Kingston and Highway 401, and 1.5 hours from downtown Ottawa. The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. You can take advantage of the great fishing, boating, swimming, water-skiing, or lock through the historic canal system to the other lakes and towns. In the surrounding towns and cities there are also lots of activities and events to participate in including golf, historic tours, boat tours, shopping, restaurants and lots more! Please check out the "YouTube VIDEO" of this property! See link to the "Cottage Video" on our website (link below).
The Rideau Lakes Region is a web of lakes most of which are connected by the Rideau Canal. There are several small towns in the area, most of them are on a lake. The nearest town to this cottage is Elgin Ontario.

** Please note that rates are quoted in USD unless otherwise noted ** You'll be hard-pressed to find a more impressive lakeside property than this 5-bed 2-bath cottage on Whitefish Lake! Tucked into the lush greenery of a peaceful neighborhood, the rustic appearance of this home with its expansive deck space is an inviting sight. Your group of up to 11 can experience the best of lakefront living in this rustic yet modern home, complete with a private bunkhouse.
While the exterior of this home may paint the picture of a classic cottage, the interiors of both the main cottage and bunkhouse are newly remodeled, modern and tastefully decorated with lots of places to sleep. When you enter the main cottage, you are greeted with space, sunlight, and a view straight out onto the water of Whitefish Lake. The kitchen is open and bright with a large island and breakfast bar, and is fully-equipped with all of the cooking tools and appliances needed to whip up your family's favorite meals. Relax in the spacious living room, where you will find a 50" flat screen TV with Apple TV, board games and comfortable seating for your whole party. It might be hard to stay inside too long with the striking view of the backyard, dock, and lake right outside, but this cozy space is the perfect retreat after a day of fun in the sun. The main unit features 3 charming bedrooms and 1 bathroom, with room to sleep 7 comfortably on 1 full-sized bed, 2 twins, and a set of twin bunks complete with a trundle. Just outside of the main cottage, you will find the separate bunkhouse. Connected by a deck so that diverse groups can enjoy their vacation time together while also being able to enjoy some alone time, the bunkhouse is just as impressive as the main cottage. 4 people can sleep comfortably in the 2 bedrooms, featuring one queen-sized bed and 2 twins. With its own fully-equipped kitchenette, full bathroom and well-decorated living area that boasts a similar 40" flat screen TV and board game set up to the one in the main unit, the bunkhouse is a perfect, private place to unwind. Despite the 2,500 square feet of immaculate indoor space, the backyard and outdoor areas are a truly unique highlight of this property. On Whitefish Lake, part of the Rideau Canal system which flows between Ottawa and Kingston Ontario, the cottage has an excellent beach and a large dock for swimming, boating, fishing and enjoying the spectacular view. In the summer you can see the jagged outline of the lake and cottages on the shores around, with lots of foliage and rocky shores nearby. Fall is full of color as winter approaches - with the lake freezing over for snowmobiles, ice fishing, skiing, and occasionally clear ice for skating. Spend warm afternoons out on one of the home's many decks, or walk down to the beach area to cool off or hang your legs off of the deck to dangle your toes in the fresh Ontario water. There are even 2 kayaks, a paddle boat and a canoe available to explore the lake! In the evenings, gather around the fire pit to roast marshmallows and tell stories, or just listen to the echoes of the crackling fire as they skip across the water. It's cottage country, and neighbors are not far away, but distant enough so there is plenty of privacy to enjoy a quiet stay at the lake. Be sure to ask the owners about the availability of a windsurfer, rent a fishing or pontoon boat in Seeley's Bay or bring your own!
Though being at the lake is likely all you will want to do, about half an hour away is the historic city of Kingston, Ontario, with Old Fort Henry, shopping, theaters and all sorts of dining opportunities! Westport is a quaint village a half hour the opposite direction with small shops owned by artisans and stocked with their crafts. And water sports, don't forget the water sports! Opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, skiing, and, pretty much anything else that you can do on the water are plentiful in this area. There are also golf courses close by, including a small 9-hole course about 7-minutes drive, and some of Eastern Ontario's finest within an hour from home base. In winter time, cross country skiing and snowmobiling are popular, and the lake is great for fishing in all seasons. The locks at Jones Falls at the northern end of the lake are scenic and an engineering marvel. Boats of all sizes are transported up and down four levels throughout each summer day, which is something kids and adults alike will enjoy watching! Indoors or outdoors, bunkhouse or main cabin, on land or on water, this incredible cottage is the ultimate place for your lakefront retreat!

  • Thank you for an amazing weekend! We loved staying at your little piece of paradise and had a great time fishing, swimming off the floating deck, taking the dinghy out and enjoying the stars around your bonfire. The cabins were comfy and so thoughtfully decorated. We had everything we needed for a great time. We loved exploring beautiful Gananoque and the Thousand Islands nearby too and hope to be back soon!

  • Nice place for staying.

    Tanja2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A rustic cute cabin right on the water. Waking up to the beautiful view of the lake, have a coffee by the dock, close to parks and hikes around, come back to go for a refreshing swim in the lake. Also each cabin has its own small bbq which was perfect. Even though we arrived late, Mel was kind enough to still show us around then. Definitely will be back!

  • Great time for a relaxing weekend getaway

    Geraldine2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice rustic cabin located on a small lake. Great to be able to use the canoe and paddle boats. Very well supplied with BBQ and especially appreciated the firepit. Beautiful clear water but not appropriate for young children as swimming off the shore/dock blocked by weeds. Swimming off of the floating raft was wonderfully refreshing. Mel was a friendly and helpful host. We'll definitely be back!
