The Salt Box is perfect for solo adventurers, business travellers and couples. It is small, but we think "perfectly formed"! Easy to get to, being 5 minutes from the A303.
Newly converted in 2017, The Salt Box offers a compact studio space with everything you need for an overnight stop or longer break. There is a modern shower room and plenty of outside space for parking. The kitchen includes an induction hob, combination oven/microwave, fridge freezer and kettle & toaster. We provide the basics for a drink and snacks when you arrive.
Take a pause and breathe in the tranquility of Somerset in this quiet hamlet. There are loads of good local pub/restaurants, several National Trust houses close by and the Jurassic Coast is under an hours drive away to the south.

Rural (but not remote!), edge of village hideaway for 2 only 2K from Yeovil, countryside setting with far reaching rural views. Beautifully furnished, White Company toiletries and welcome goodies, it's a charming little bolthole for a couple or those working in Yeovil. A fully equipped kitchen, living area, shower room and heated indoor pool. Enjoy the patio with the BBQ going, watch the goose potter around, enjoy the views or grab a blanket, snuggle up & enjoy a beautiful starry evening.
Only 10 minutes from the A303 but utterly peaceful, The Little Stable is situated down a quiet country Lane on the edge of the village of picturesque East Coker, only a mile from Yeovil. There are 2 pubs in walking distance and plenty of excellent places to eat nearby and the beautiful Jurassic coast only half an hour away. Please note The Little Stable is not suitable for babies, toddlers or children. It is what it says on the tin so if you’re after something palatial, The Little Stable might not be what you’re looking for!
East Coker is a quintessentially English village, TS Elliot even wrote a poem about it. Full of great walks and cycling, just potter about in the lanes and follow your nose back to the Stable after a drink or two in one of the local pubs or a fantastic cooked breakfast in our village cafe.
  • The stable is absolutely beautiful and really well equipped with everything you need! Fiona and Jason were lively and really welcoming and the pool was such a luxury! Really keen to return!

    Matt2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • It's the perfect place to get away from it all! My daughter and I had a lovely rest in the relaxed and tranquil setting, just what we needed! Fiona and hubby greeted us at various times with a very warm welcome and couldn't be more helpful. During our stay we had the pool to ourselves as the other accommodation (cottage) was empty, that was lovely! Other than a very friendly dog who came and said 'hello' and a goose as a neighbour we had overall privacy, however in the stable manual it did give contact details for the owners if we should need them. Fiona kept in-touch with me from the initial booking with all relevant details for our stay and even left us some bird seed to feed the goose as my daughter is quite mad for them! There were many personal touches in our accommodation and pool house, a lot of thought has gone into making sure you have all you need. The facilities are fantastic I can see why Fiona is a super host much deserved, we will definitely be stay again!

  • Have stayed here so many times now, it's hard to keep count! Every time it's fantastic. Still our favourite Airbnb, and the best we've stayed in for that matter. Elizabeth and Alisdair are always so welcoming and it's the thoughtful touches, like getting the fire going for your arrival and croissants for breakfast, which help elevate this Airbnb to another level.

    Alex2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely relaxing stay at The Estate Office, a very warm welcome and everything we could need. Beautiful surroundings and we loved the fire!

  • Amazing place in amazing location

    Lawrence2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Genuinely one of the best airbnb's we've stayed in. The attention to detail was through the roof, super clean, log burner was a dream. Stocked with everything we need and the croissants were an added touch. Really nice walk (although a bit muddy!) up to St Michaels Hill at sunset. 5 star

    Ralph2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, quaint area to get back to nature. A refreshing break from city-life!

    Joseph2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth and Alisdair’s property is outstanding. We simply cannot believe how lucky we’ve been on this trip to England!:-) The property it sits on could not be any more gorgeous or perfectly located. The pub, The King’s Arms, that is within super easy walking distance, serves some of the best food we’ve had in England! And the holiday let is an old dairy barn, that is renovated tastefully and to the highest standards, with under floor heating, an incredible bathroom, high timber-beamed ceilings, and an extremely efficient log burner. The bed is king sized, and very comfortable. Parking is super easy, and gated. Our Hosts couldn’t have been nicer! Communication was easy, and they were very accommodating with our arrival time, as we were later than expected. There are wonderful sights to see within both walking and driving distance. You can’t go wrong with this place! We will definitely return, if they’ll have us!:-)

  • The description on line is very accurate, so if you like the look of the potting shed, go for it, you won't be disappointed. Such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

  • A perfect stay in a perfect barn. Converted to a very high standard acomodation. Even the inclement weather did not spoil our stay. Would highly recomend.

  • Vanessa is offering just fantastic accommodation in a very interesting area. The accommodation is spacious and everything is well thought out(Vanessa has a great eye for detail). I can’t recommend The Potting Shed highly enough.

    Martin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was an incredibly wonderful stay. The potting shed has been carefully built to specification taking every small detail into consideration. It is clean, cosy and private. the bed is immensely comfortable, the shower is one of the best we’ve used on any trip and the kitchen is perfectly stocked for making all meals necessary. The eggs Vanessa left were a nice touch and we enjoyed watching films by the fire ( which she had laid ready for our arrival) and playing board games whilst the Bluetooth speaker played out tune!would be our only choice if we stay in the area again.

    Johnny2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Vanessa is the best host we have ever stayed with. The stylist touches and the thoughtful extras always make the difference. We will definitely be staying again and are already looking forward to a summer stay. Thank you again for such a lovely stay

    Tracey2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at The Potting Shed, and, (hopefully), not our last. It is so beautiful, so quiet and tranquil. If I'd been any more relaxed I'd have been in a coma! Vanessa is very thoughtful; providing lots of extra touches like fresh eggs, cotton buds and tin foil. We love it so much that I don't even bother looking at anywhere else on Airbnb now, just go straight to The Potting Shed. I don't believe there could be any place better in the UK

    Melanie2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accomodation which was perfect for us and our 2 well behaved cocker spaniels. The enclosed courtyard was perfect as well as access to the secure field across the road for a little run around (They never get tired even after hours worth of walking through Somerset!) Vanessa lives on site and came to say hello when we arrived even though it was later at night than planned. She was always easily contactable if needed. The Potting Shed is in a beautiful location and enabled us to explore some lovely areas We would definitely love to come back!

    Millie2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Potting Shed was absolutely perfect. It's a beautiful barn conversion with everything you could need. Vanessa was so welcoming and there were lots of little touches like fresh eggs and local cider. She also gave us loads of helpful local advice. If you want to relax by a log fire in a beautiful rural location, I cannot recommend this place enough.

  • Lovely to meet Alan & Taffy , two of the most honest and trustworthy people you are ever likely to meet . They give everyone the benefit of the doubt before anything else . Always thinking the best even when its obvious to the contrary . This was a reply to a previous guest who went well and beyond the realms of fantasy in their recollections of a stay I was witness too . They should be banned from airbnb in my opinion after the trauma they put these lovely, lovely people through . I very much enjoyed my stay in the single bedroom which actually was bigger than the picture gives a view of. I found the bed extremely comfortable and found sleep easy . The room was warm and yes the bathroom is downstairs but not a hardship . Tess the dog extremely friendly and a good old soul . No malice in a bone in her body . We watched tv discussed current affairs , politics and religion . All subjects I try and steer away from . Everything was in light and good humour and they welcomed you to their home with open arms . Thank you for the lovely stay from a grateful guest

Just book it ....

  • We had the most wonderful stay at Idlers Cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming with lots of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. It is perfectly situated - a couple of minutes away from the local pub and shops. The delicatessen was my favourite place, the cakes were delicious! Thank you to Charles for being so attentive and making sure we were comfortable. We look forward to returning in the future.

The cottage was spotless and there was lots to do including tv, wireless, WiFi for our internet, movies and playing cards. Charles himself was an excellent host, giving prompt responses and was very flexible regarding check in. We are considering coming again so we that we can explore more in better weather. We would definitely want to stay here again. 5 stars

  • My partner and I stayed at Johnny's place whilst we were in the area for work and leisure. It was in between Yeovil and Glastonbury for us which suited us perfectly. It was easy enough to find, he met us on arrival and helped with our luggage, showed us to our room which was spotless and very comfortable and stylish. With our own very clean en suite, it was the ideal room for a stay away. We had all that we needed and it was an added bonus to see Johnny's lovely bunnies :) would definitely return again in the future. Thank you so much, Gina and Leon

  • Robbie's place is really great for both long and short stays. It's conveniently close to the train station while being situated in a very quiet and green village. It's not an easy walk to shops so would be handy to think ahead for groceries if you don't have transport, but there is a local pub with a fire and good food. Robbie himself is an easygoing, kind and really straightforward person to communicate with.

A lovely airy and bright 2 bedroom , 3 bath semi detached house, newly built in November 2018 . We are 10 minutes away from the Yeovil town centre in a car , close to Pen Mill Train station and Yeovil junction to go to the coast, Bristol London and Exeter. Local shops and amenities and close to Yeovil country Park and Yeovilton Naval base .
I do work full time and have a little Shih Tzu called Alfie ( Alfonzo ) who is very very friendly , pretty much like a cuddly bear . I will be home most evenings from 730pm as i tend to go to the gym every night. The odd occasion i will have a night off . You will need to fend for yourself and provide your own food for lunch and dinner, except for breakfast there will be coffee , tea , juice , bread for toast if you wish to use it, help yourself in the morning if you wish to do so. The bedroom is a double room with bed hanging rail and draw space . You will have use of the master bathroom and the downstairs if you wish.
The area is a new build development and house was only finished in November last year . We are on the east side of town, We are close to the country park, lovely walks and very close to the Yeovil town centre .10 minutes in a car and 30 minutes walking , there are regular buses going into town and taxi services if you aren’t driving. We are close to the train station again about 10 minutes away by taxi or your own car, which takes you to the coast, it is also just a 30 -40 minute drive to weymouth and other beautiful spots. Pen mill that goes to Weymouth and Dorset. Yeovil junction which takes you to either Bristol Or London or Exeter. And we are close and a good side of town to get to yeovilton naval base .
  • Tina’s home is impeccably clean and that’s how friends have described my home too so her home was definitely a home away from home. She had a cute little dog called Alfie, pleasant, friendly not imposing. Her home is as superb as her personality- She is not intrusive , not overbearing. She is great to have a conversation with. I met her mum on occasion and she too was great company. I will highly recommend Tina’s place

  • This is really a very lovely house, with great hospitality in a beautiful village. We were well looked after from beginning to end, with our host invisible yet responsive to every query and need. The dog-friendliness was very appreciated and the dog facilities were spot on. This house would work well for a family with or without a dog. We had a fair amount of rain while we were there but the house was comfortable and well-equipped so we were able to hole-up in there with the fire on while we waited for the sun to return (which it did in fact - now that's great hosting!). So, it's a big recommend from us. Brian

Situated on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Montacute. We are blessed to have the Elizabethan Montacute House of Wolf Hall fame which is considered a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. The house’s long gallery is the longest of its kind in England and displays Tudor and Elizabethan portraits loaned by the National Portrait Gallery.
The Annex is self contained, it has a sitting room with television and Wi-fi and futon, separate double bedroom, kitchen and shower room. The kitchen has a one ring halogen hob, combi microwave, coffee peculator, kettle and fridge. There is gas central heating which is controlled separately from the main house. Guests have there own front door and there is a key safe if we are out.
Ham Hill (an ancient Roman hill fort) is within easy walking distance from there there are fabulous views across the Somerset Levels. There is a lovely pub (the Prince of Wales) which is always welcoming with excellent food and real ale. We like to think of South Somerset as a hidden gem, people bypass on their way to Devon and Cornwall. The villages are beautiful mostly made from the local ham stone. Montacute House is a must but there are many other National Trust properties around.

Hello from Yeovil. I am an experienced host and live here with my partner and children. We would be happy to accommodate you into our beautiful family home. Enjoy an airy double loft room with amazing views on the second floor. We have a shared bathroom and parking on the front drive. I'll leave you biscuits, a selection of teas and coffees, plus use of your own microwave and mini fridge too. Our location is fab- you can walk 5 minutes to all the major amenities. Our reviews say it all!
You will have access to a lovely attic room. The stairs are space saving stairs so please bear that in mind. Guests with limited mobility or heavy luggage will struggle. ( see pics) They are very steep. You will have access to the family bathroom on the floor below. I will provide towels. If there’s anything else you need, just ask. We don’t as a rule provide food but we are a couple of minutes away from cafes and supermarkets. However, if you want to pick up your own and use our kitchen, feel free. Inside the room is a tv, microwave, cutlery and crockery. There is also a hairdryer should you need it! Come and enjoy a home from home.
We are a 5-10 minute walk into town and the cinema. Walk the other way and you have Morrison’s, Lidl and McDonald’s. We have a beautiful country park a 5 minute walk away too. You’re literally a 40 minute drive from Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Cheddar, Wookey, Glastonbury and Wells cathedral.

  • This was our first stay in an Airbnb and it was a great experience. Kaz and Mike are very friendly and welcoming. We loved hearing about the history of the house. The bed was very comfy with your own bathroom. The homemade jam, marmalade and honey at breakfast was very tasty and a nice touch. Would definitely stay again when back in the area.

Situated in a small hamlet on the River Parrett Trail just off the 303, near two villages with pubs and shops and within 30mins of many attractions inc. museums, NT properties and walking trails. Nearest towns are Yeovil and Taunton. 20 miles from Glastonbury and Street, 30 miles from Dorchester and Wells, 35 miles from Wookie Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge, 40 miles from Bath, 47 miles from Stonehenge. Coasts- Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-Super-Mare, West Bay and Lyme Regis are all within 43 miles.
The room is en-suite and has a fire for extra warmth. Also a fridge in the room
The area is lovely and peaceful. With lots of walks. But still close enough to the village to go out for a lovely meal or just a pint and glass of wine.
  • Julie's place is in a beautiful location between two pretty villages. We had a little difficulty reaching the house because of some local flooding (the result of two severe winter storms) and got a warm welcome when we eventually got through. The address details did not show the name of the house so we were not quite sure we had come to the right place. A quick call to Julie sorted us out. The room is cosy and the bed very comfortable. There was a delicious lemon cake waiting in our room which was very welcome with a cup of tea. Julie served a substantial breakfast and we got a chance to meet her friendly dog Fudge. We can recommend Julie's place and would stay again.

  • Julie is a hospitable, competent housewife. The room is very big and clean, we have prepared breakfast for us, and it is very convenient to stay without going up and down the stairs.
