Breath taking views from the lanai of the ocean waves crashing on the rocks and the white sandy beach . Nicely decorated and equipped with linens, kitchen ware, beach towels and chairs, bogey boards, cooler, etc.. Vehicle available, pick up/drop off at the airport, $40 per day plus $100 deposit.
Kepuhi Beach Resort formally known as Kaluakoi Resort. My condo is the larger size studio at the resort. Has a queen bed with bunk, Sleeps 4 comfortably. Full kitchen with toaster oven. Remodeled 2 years ago with practically everything new including linens and kitchen ware. Tastefully done with aloha.
There are quiet hours from 10pm-8am that are strictly enforced. Absolutely incredible views of the ocean from the lanai. Beautiful ocean/beach side pool. People are friendly and respectful to each other.
  • We had a very good time at Molokai and we really loved the apartment. There was all we needed for our stay & everything went great. The lanai and the ocean view is amazing. We enjoyed our breackfast at the lanai every morning. The apartment is well equippted and we used the kitchen a lot, because there are not so many restaurants at Molokai.

  • You'll feel like you are on the edge of the world! If you are truly looking to get away, this is definitely the spot. Michael has the Hale well stocked for any adventure you might want to get into - and the kitchen (and grill) are well equipped in case you want no adventure at all. Michael was easy to communicate with, the place was as described, and I'd definitely go back again. Some Molokai tips from my brief stay: flying is easier than taking the ferry, rent a 4wd, and shop at Friendlies.

  • Great place to stay on a magical island!

    Ila2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We (3 male students from Germany) really enjoyed Michaels place! We stayed there in June for 2 nights and had a very silent environment with a close lonely beach. The apartment equipment is amazing! Wave boards, kitchen devices etc. everything is there! All in all it is very recommendable and we regret not have stayed another night!

    Dennis2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's condo was exactly what we had expected! We were looking for a quiet weekend away from Honolulu and got just that. There were times when we had the pool to ourselves and the beaches were nearly untouched. Beautiful sunsets every night! Tip: You'll probably want to go to the store in town before you check in (and if you're arriving on a holiday, note that the stores will likely be closed).

  • Very nice place, and Michael was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Comfortable bed too! Also nice that snorkel gear and other beach stuff was available, though surf was too high in winter to use it.

    Josephine2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a magical location. Unspoilt and raw nature. Come with an open mind, respect for local history and customs, an appetite for the islands as they have been long before tourism. Our host rose to the occasion as we arrived in a hurricane with out a rent a car and he graciously offered his car complementary for a couple of days as we were all unsure of the realities of the situation. All across the board a truly pleasurable experience, in an awe inspiring place, in a cozy condo with everything clean and working and comfortable. Did I mention the views?

    Kate2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's condo is just as described and depicted in the photos. It was clean, cozy and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The view from the lanai was lovely and we enjoy relaxing in the pool over looking the ocean as well. The bed was a bit soft for our liking but that's quite subjective. Overall I recommend Michael's place and would stay here again myself.

Our Condo is centrally located in Kaunakakai, near all Grocery Shopping and Eateries. It features a Full size bed and a blow up mattress, a mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster and a flat screen television. Property also has an onsite Restaurant and Bar.
  • We really, really liked Molokai; it's unlike the other islands and hopefully will stay that way. Our visit at the A&K Molokai Escape Condo was just right. Small, cozy and the place had a bar/restaurant with music nightly and a great view of the sunset and Lanai every night. MEC is about 2 miles east of Kaunakakai, but comfortably so. It is part of and separate from Hotel Molokai. About a week later and I'm still feeling relaxed. That's a good feeling.

    Connie2016-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. The unit was exactly as described and came with a rental car! The location was perfect for our itinerary. Live music, a restaurant and bar onsite, as well as a gift shop. Walks on the beach to watch the sunrise were the best start to the day. Highly recommend this place. Mahalo for making our stay on Molokai so wonderful!

    Deb2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very accommodating and told me exactly where the car would be and how to return it. Loved Hotel Molokai and had so much fun on the island!

    Francine2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is great little place to stay on Molokai. Everything you need is right there for you. The people on the property are all very kind. Don't be afraid to strike up a conversation with anyone in town, hey are all good genuine people. As far as the island itself, my wife and I were able to see all sides of the island and do everything from hiking, snorkeling, relaxing, swimming in a beautiful waterfall pool at Halawa Valley, and eating breakfast in town while hearing a local band play music. Maybe our timing was fortunate, but there wasn't a single moment we can regret. Can't wait to get back!

    James2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The biggest asset to this place is the package car + room deal and they even leave it for you at the airport! So nice. It was a bonus having the restaurant right there for a late dinner, breakfast, happy hour, live music! Nice central location for exploring. It took a while to figure out things to do, but worked out. You have to talk to people & be active about figuring it out.

    Carey2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay & the use of the car. We were able to travel all around the island to see the sights. If we were to come to Molokai again, I would consider staying again at your condo. Got to love the chickens & roosters! They free-roam the property & are your regular morning guests! Natalie & Jim

  • If you have plans in Molokai, do your homework then stay with Selina's Place. Note: Molokai is super local and super quite island, not your typical Oahu, Maui, Kona and Kauai visits.

    Michael2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Selina's place is a quiet place to hear the beauty of Molokai... I would love to come back in the near future!

    Melissa2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Hotel Molokai is a great central location for exploring the island. It is just outside the Kaunakakai which has 90% of the services on the island. The unit was clean and comfortable and the Hotel Molokai was a vibrant place, nice restaurant (though pricey) with bar and live music while we were there. Selina communicated via email and all went smoothly. I would happily return!

Beautiful adventurous Molokai. Just relax and have time for yourself. A step back in time to old hawaii. Untouched beaches and friendly people
Unit sleeps 3 people comfortably. 1 queen size bed. And 1 rollout twin bed. Great for friends traveling together
Privately owned Condo located at laid back hotel molokai. Great base to explore the island
  • This place is great! We flew in for the weekend from Oahu to go to Kalaupapa and just relax and explore the island. The room was perfect size for two guests with a comfortable bed, tub/shower, mini fridge, microwave, tv w/cable & free wifi access. It was clean, comfortable & was in a great location. There's a pool, hammocks to lounge in, a little store for souvenirs/snacks & really great new restaurant on site, so it was very convenient. I highly recommend this place & would definitely stay here again!

  • Aloha Kohl, Beautiful apartment in an authentic hotel complex, which stands out from many others in style. We liked it very much. Sonja&Harald

    Harald2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The room was exactly as advertised and even better! It is a private room with patio, bathroom and mini-fridge/microwave/coffee maker with good size closet space. You have access to the hotel facilities so we were able to do a load of laundry, use the pool, and have a relaxed dinner our first night there (and restaurant is right on ocean, so it was such a nice view!). Had toiletries available, sink area is huge, and mini-fridge/microwave/coffee maker were all really handy. There were more than enough towels, as well, which was nice for multiple beach days. Great location right off highway and close to town for easy grocery/supplies and restaurants. Easy driving to both east and west side of islands. Very clean, comfortable bed, patio was covered, and two fans were good for the mid-80's weather. Cab from airport to room is $32 one-way, and Kohl's car for rent is really useful if you don't rent a 4WD car for going up in the mountains on the north side.

    Roma2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay on Molokai. Kohl's place is very clean and just the right size. The location is great right in the middle of the South Shore near the main town. Having the vehicle during our stay made it all the better.

    Erin2017-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kohl was a very communicative and accommodating host! Our arrival time was affected by flight delays, and it was no problem. Unit was just as described, and the bed is extremely comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

    Jonathan 2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect for all of our needs. It was close to town, and has amazing views by the pool. The place was clean and perfect size. Kohl was a great host. He gave us some great tips about what to do and showed us around. It was my first time visiting Molokai and I can't wait to go back.

    Linda2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kohl was communicative and prompt to respond to any questions. The hotel is easy to find and has a lot of community amenities such as laundry facilities, hammocks, and a restaurant. The room itself was basic, but quiet and comfortable. It included a mini-fridge and microwave, plus a TV and two fans. I was grateful that Kohl allowed use of his car as a rental car (Moloka'i airport apparently runs of out of rental cars frequently) because it helped me explore this stunning island and visit Kalaupapa. I highly recommend staying here on your visit to the Friendly Isle!

  • Nice condo unit that was a good central base for our adventures on Molokai. Comfortable bed, especially important for the night after the mule ride to the Kalaupapa peninsula. Screened lanai was nice, boogie boards provided. Pool key was provided with keys from lockbox, so we didn't have to pick it up at the Castle Resorts office. Just a mile to Kaunakakai town. The laminated, detailed map of Molokai was very helpful & we eventually got our own copy in town.

    George2016-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We made a last minute trip from Oahu and Farrell was very accommodating and responsive even though it was a holiday. The place was clean and well described. This is a great central location to explore.

    Chris2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean apartment just 5/10 minutes away from the town. The swimming pool and private beach in the facility are great. The apartments are very well maintained by the property management team. They are very friendly and we checked in early with no problems. Moloka'i is a very quiet local place but definitely worth a few days visiting. Thanks again, Dan & Cam

    Daniel2016-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Place was a great location. Only complaint was we had some real noisy neighbors upstairs that stayed up all night. Could have used a few more items in the kitchen (dishes wine glasses etc) but I think that more the management company than the owner. We called the management company on first arrival to fix the smoke detector and they never showed up so we had to disconnect it

    Debra2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place. We didn't spend as much time at it as planned. Didn't cook or go swimming. The island was layer back and way back. Remind me of my home town from the 60s. Many stores close on Sunday so be prepared. No chain businesses and no crowds.

    mark2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, walk to town and enjoy the ocean view. The unit is well equipped.

    Priscila2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was very clean and ideal.

    Craig2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great unit that opens right onto the lawn and is just a few feet from the pool. The beach here is very limited but that is true for this whole coastline. Sitting out under the stars at night is fantastic. I just wish the lights from the pool area turned off at a point but I understand why they don't. The location to Kaunakakai is convenient if you are going to need to go into town for groceries or meals etc. The condo itself was rather disappointing to us. The kitchen had roach poop all over in the counters and drawers. I cleaned some of it out but mostly I just washed all the dishes and left them in the dish drain and used them from there. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was missing a screw so we couldn't use it high enough to create any air flow. Since you are on the bottom floor you don't get much air flow without it and the rooms can be stuffy and hot. When I called the property managers to fix that they came a full day later and fixed the wrong fan while we were gone even though I specified which fan when I called. They did fix the sliding door which was off the rack. I didn't call again because I don't really like the idea of someone I don't know coming in while we are gone since we have to travel with a lot of important documentation etc that I'm not going to carry with me when we go hiking or sight seeing and I'm not going to spend my vacation managing repairs. For some reason we did not have hot water in the shower the whole time we were there. We would have hot water in the kitchen and the bathroom sink but not the bath. I have no idea why. I let Farrell know all of these things prior to leaving a review and waited several days but did not get a reply from him. I am so sorry to leave a negative review at all but if these things can be corrected it will be a much more pleasant place to stay.

Condo has cable TV and wireless internet.
  • Location was great. What I really liked about it was that it was right next to the ocean. The cool breeze blew right through the back sliding door through the front screen gate. The unit felt very comfortable and like home. All the amenities I needed were there. Mahalo Margaret...!

  • Best value on Molokai!! Bottom floor, as close to beach as you can get...we loved morning coffee on the lawn watching the sun rise. The complex was quiet and convenient to everything-Molokai. The condo hasn't been upgraded but was clean and comfortable, especially the king size bed and new bath towels. Margaret was an excellent host. Highly recommend this beachfront condo!

  • We had a great stay at kauhane's and his wifes house. They welcomed us so nice and friendly and kauhane told us a lot about his culture, which was really interesting. Our room was really clean and the house itself is beautiful. We could always ask them if they could drive us somewhere, which they always did. We were really thankful for that because we didn't have a car but could still go everywhere. I think there isn't another place in molokai, that is as good as this one. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everyone.

    Laura2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kahuanes and Mayumis home was one of the best real airbnb places we ever stayed on our ten month trip. We were welcomed so warmly, their house and garden are nice and beautiful. The room is spacious and clean and decorated with love. You feel like beeing at home and part of the family from the first moment on. We also highly recommend Mayumis great japanese dinners, which are perfect for vegetarians as well. And don't forget to try her Lomi Lomi massage, she is an expert. From Kanuane we learnt a lot about hawaiian tradition and the language, especially about the culture of his home island Molokai. It was very useful and convenient for us that we could use their little coolbox, two camping chairs, a blanket and two beach towels during our one week stay. So we are really sure that there is no better place to stay on this beautiful and peaceful island. If you come by rental car you can reach every place on the island quite easy from their place. Thank you both so much!

  • My first airbnb experience and it could not have been any better. I can highly recommend staying with Kaʻuhane and his wife Momi to anyone interested in Hawaiian culture. I had great conversations with Kaʻuhane about Hawaiian topics and booked a wonderful one hour lomilomi with Momi. When I had a cough, Kaʻuhane made sure he provided me with a Hawaiian remedie from his mum.The room is comfortable and faces to the east. I am looking forward to meet that beautiful ʻohana again.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Hale Nanea. Kauhane & Mayumi were very friendly & welcoming & gracious in opening their house to us. The Japanese dinner Mayumi made was amazing! They had all sorts of gear to rent for our beaching adventures which was convenient. They knew all about the island & let us use their washing machine which was so handy. I recommend staying here for an authentic island experience!

Molokai is one of the last Hawaiian Islands where you will experience the authenticity of the Hawaiian tradition and surround yourself with the unspoiled natural beauty of Hawaii.
  • Very cute little room, clean and comfortable. Good location.Easy check in. Only downside was having rude/noisy neighbors late at night as noise traveled through the closed windows easily, it's also very light in the room due to there being no coverings over the frosted glass, so if you need a dark room to sleep in I recommend bringing some dark towels or something to hang over the windows. Food options on Molokai are quite limited and expensive.

  • This was a great place to stay!restaurant and bar on site. Also just a short walk to a quite relaxing beach.

  • This room is a great value compared to the Hotel's actual rates. The bed was very comfy, the AC kept the room cool, and it was QUIET. Locals were actually surprised when I told them the rate. Just FYI, this room is privately owned so don't expect daily room service. The trade off is well worth it. I'm coming BACK. Thanks Raymond, a hui hou, malama pono.

  • This place is top grade as far as local standards go. I had a wonderful time exploring and immersing myself into the local environment, culture and people. Raymond's place is ideal. Being part of the Hotel Molokai, this helps tremendously in terms of comfort, entertainment, meals and ease of access to the town and most parts of the island. Mahalo, Raymond.

  • This airbnb is one of the best values on Molokai. The hotel staff are helpful and courteous. Ask for Doreen at the front desk to arrange trips. You are only minutes from Kanakakai. People are very friendly. The Saturday market is fun and your trip won't be complete without getting Hot Bread. Paddler's Inn is a nearby restaurant, and it's a treat to hear the local talent. Molokai is the kind of place to experience rural Hawaii. The Halawa Valley Cutlural Hike is incredible and your experience at Kalaupapa will stay with you long after. The Macadamia Nut farm is interesting. Food is expensive and choices are limited; however Kumu Farms is a good place for local produce. There are only 2 gas stations on the island. Most shops close at 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. Just remember to slow down - you're on Molokai.

  • The stay was great. It was all we needed for comfort. The patio off the room was nice. The screen doors make it nice to have the breeze blow through. Great centralized location on the island in a quiet neighborhood. We saw deer on the beech and whales blowing in the ocean. Great vacation!

Our warm two bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps six. Relax overlooking an ancient Hawaiian fishpond, or take a soak in the hot tub. Fully remodeled with laundry, complete kitchen, and small office. Minutes from restaurants and beaches.
Whether you're a couple here for a romantic getaway, a group of friends, or a family of six, our cottage on the island of Moloka'i can provide a truly unique Hawaiian experience. The two bedrooms--one with a queen sized bed and the other with two twin sized beds--share a gorgeous bathroom with a large shower and whirlpool style tub. If required, the couch in the living room can be pulled out into a queen sized bed that sleeps two.
If you're looking for a relaxing peaceful stay on Moloka'i, you can't do better than the Fishpond Cottages. Situated about 1.5 miles from downtown Kaunakakai. There you'll find restaurants, grocery stores, and other small shops. If you are the adventurous type, the harbor where you take off for snorkeling is also near by. Going the other direction you'll find pristine beaches and water falls. Or, if you're in the mood, take a quick stroll down the road and enjoy the entertainment that the Hotel Moloka'i has to offer.
  • Great location near the town. 1 mile to shops, pier, restaurants. Great place for a small family! Seth is very responsive!

  • It was a really nice house, close to the city and there was everything that we needed in the house. Seth was really fast to answer to his mail. Nice place to stay!

  • I loved the house ! It was a great choice. From the nice views to the beautiful interior design , I'm going back again very soon! Very pleased with everything. The jacuzzi bathtub was perfect to relax with candles after a long day on molokai. The house was well furnished and perfect to stay at for a week or two. The location was also perfect because of house close it was to town !

    risa2015-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed.

    Claude2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice, clean and well cared for 2 bdrm with a big kitchen and 2 baths including a nice jacuzzi master bath. The kitchen is important on Molokai because the restaurant food is really terrible. (Hot Bread from Kanemitsu bakery is good though). I recommend just shopping in town and utilizing the kitchen . The cottage is in front of a mangrove fish bond that is good for seeing birds. There are a few other cottages on the premises but all were empty when we were there. It's just a 2 min drive from town. . It's maybe .5 miles from Hotel Molokai. We found it a great base for exploration on an island with ltd. options for accommodation. We'd stay again.

    david2015-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Seth was very helpful about everything including directions and must do things in the area. He answered each question thoroughly and quickly. The house was clean, quiet and overlooking a fishpond teaming with bird life and fish. I would recommend staying more than one night but planning on preparing your own food. Moloka'i is lovely and relaxing but the restaurants leave a little to be desired, great bakery and ice cream though!

    Bethany2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to get to town, and only 1/4 mile to Hotel Molokai (which was nice for dinner and live music). Enjoyed peaceful evenings watching the sunset and wildlife near the fish ponds.

Newly remodeled, ocean side unit, close to town and steps from the ocean. Amenities include kayaks, SUP, snorkel gear, beach chairs & towels, private lanai with grill and much more, plus we also serve a continental breakfast each morning. Kahakai Hale is a 2 bedroom oceanside apartment with a private entrance and a maximum occupancy of 4. Available vehicle is rented through TURO at an additional fee.
Newly renovated vacation rental with numerous amenities, including a continental breakfast each morning. We are on a quiet cul-de-sac with only 2 houses and located right by the water. Kahakai Hale (Beach House) is a 2 bedroom apartment (ground floor) with a private entrance. The place is extremely clean as we strive for Disney clean, and well equipped. It has a queen bed in the main bedroom with a new memory foam mattress and the second bedroom has 2 twin beds which can be replaced with a queen bed if needed, with enough notice. We are located on the water, steps from a quiet beach that is perfect for SUPing and kayaking. Kahakai Hale is centrally located as we are 4 miles from town for quick access to stores, restaurants and the famous nightly Molokai Hot Bread. There is a private lanai with grill and a great view of the beach. We have a vehicle that can be rented along with the unit for an additional fee through TURO. TURO validates licenses and can provide the proper insurance, especially convenient for those residing outside the US. You will find our rate is at least 1/3 - 1/2 of the airport rental agency. Because Kahakai Hale is legally a permitted property, you can book with confidence and be assured that your vacation will go off without a hitch, as Maui County continues to crack down on the illegal rentals. Please remember that our maximum occupancy is 4, with the exception for an infant. We want our guests to be comfortable, to have an enjoyable time, and have set the maximum guests to reflect this. If you have a party of 5 or more, please seek other arrangements. Because Kahakai Hale is new, we do not have many reviews but those who has stayed thus far, have loved it. We offer everything that we have in our other unit (Hale Kamaluhia), with the addition of a continental breakfast each morning. Maui County does not allow us to cook meals or slice fruit, but we can bake. Some of the bake goods we serve are banana bread, pumpkin bread, coffee cake, blueberry buckle, and English muffins, all homemade from scratch. Mahalo for considering us for your next vacation. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
There are only 2 houses on our street. We have no streetlights, so the night sky is amazing. The beach in front of the house faces Lanai and is almost always deserted. It is not a good swimming beach (because it is shallow), but it is perfect for paddle-boarding, kayaking, snorkeling (further out) and long quiet walks. It's also a perfect spot for whale watching in the winter months. We are centrally located on the island for easy access to all activities and only 4 miles from town.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Yvette's. The space is really cute, new and well finished. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and the breakfast that was provided was delicious and healthy! We looked being able to eat out on the lanai and enjoy the ocean view, we even had a BBQ one night. The location is good for exploring the island, pretty close to the main town and right on the coast. We had a great time kayaking and paddle boarding at sunset as well, the water out in front of the house is protected by a reef so it's perfect for paddling.

    Elise2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Yvette's place and their hospitality was amazing which made our stay in Molokai even more special! So clean, great location, oceanfront, and yummy breakfast! I am so glad we did not choose to stay at a hotel. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay on Molokai. I hope to stay longer next time!

    Ayuka2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Mike & Yvette are outstanding hosts and their B&B is fantastic. You can enjoy long walks on the beach and often be 100% alone on that walk. They offer all the amenities you could think of, and then some. Kayak, Paddle board BBQ, full kitchen etc. etc. The breakfast in the morning is wonderful, how would you like to get served fresh homemade bread along with fresh tropical fruit from the garden?? You simply can't beat this experience of Moloka'i

    Nina & Anders2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sometimes it happens that you feel immediately at ease and welcome. That's what we experienced in this lovely, clean place. Yvette and Mike are great helpful hosts. We were spoilt with a yummy breakfast, including self-baked cakes. We truly enjoyed our stay a lot and can highly recommend this place if staying in Molokai.

    Diana2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Yvette and Mike's B&B private guest Apartment is an absolute gem and we can't think of having a better place to stay and feel at home when exploring the beautiful "friendly Hawaiian Island Molokai". Molokai is a very special place, it is a quite, remote and totally unique place to be and Yvette and Mike's place is perfectly central located, everything one wants to do on this beautiful island is just a short drive away. The space is super clean and equipped with everything one might need on a trip. The fresh breakfast treats from Yvette are memorable and delicious. The place is within walking distance to the Beach, and we highly recommend a Kayak or SUP trip (in the morning, before the wind starts to blow) right from their place and Mike was so helpful and lending us his Kayak. We did not need to rent a car from Mike as we had a "coupon deal" , but next time I will ,for sure, rent a car from Mike - it is much cheaper than "Alamo", which is the only official rental place on island, and Mike's car is by far superior. and if anybody goes to Molokai: you will need a car :) My husband and I can only recommend "Hale Kamaluhia" highly to anybody who wants to experience the true Hawaii on Molokai. Mahalo and Aloha.

    Maxi2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, quite, and perfect! Mike & Yvette were amazing! Easy to communicate with and accommodated everything we needed! The house is clean and close to the water. Will stay here anytime in Moloaki!

    Jaysen2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place ! Well located and lovely hosts very welcoming and helpful ! And a delicious homemade breakfast And you can see the beach in front of your door. And the sky observation at night is enormous

    Julie2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Yvette and Mike went above and beyond in every aspect. House was clean with all amenities. They were flexible with check-in and check-out. They got us the kayak ready to take out on the water. Mike even met me at the airport to welcome us to Molokai. We highly recommend staying here, it was the perfect getaway!

BACK ON THE MARKET!!!! After years as a long term rental, my cozy,semi-private location at Wavecrest Resort is a vacation rental again. Often described as a home away from home this unit will bring a warm feeling to your heart and soul.
  • Had a great stay. Good value, clean, beautiful and quiet location. George was very helpful with a special request of ours

    Diane2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • George's place was exactly as advertised and had an amazing view of the ocean. My only complaint was that the wifi was pretty bad and inconsistent, BUT a maintenance man came and did some electrical work which he said would drastically improve the wifi by the end of the week. I really enjoyed my stay here!

    Julia2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great! Perfect location to unwind. Clean, accommodating, friendly and safe. Everyone helped in getting us a vehicle, soon as we landed we had contact and we're ready to go. Things are Mo bettah in Molokai.

    Shane2016-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • George was a very lovely host. The condo is a cute little one bedroom with all the basics we needed for our stay. I loved the decor and made plenty use of the reading lamps. The balcony offers a nice place for breakfast. We were pretty active alternating between hikes and the beach so we mostly only spent nights back at wave crest, but it did seems like a nice community.

    Riya2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Molakai and staying here was a great central location for the things we wanted to do.

    Louise2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Better than expected! The place was very comfortable with everything we needed to enjoy ten days of relaxing, going to the pool, sitting at the water's edge. etc. We sat on the balcony and enjoued the view of the well manicured grounds, palm trees, and ocean beyond. We fixed some meals in the well equipped kitchen, watched local news and weather, drove to beaches to snorkel and picnic. I'd love to go again. Thanks, George for a great relaxing place!

    Daniel2016-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This condo was cozy and just fine. The complex itself was in probably the most beautiful part of the island on its wet side. You could see both Maui and Lanai from the ver nice pool. Also had a very nice gas barbecue area The landscaping in the complex was some of the best maintained in 15 years in Hawaii. If you are coming through Oahu or Maui, I suggest getting your meat and groceries there. The island is small and quiet. The pool and barbecue may be the mainstays of your time.

    Robert2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is ideal for a couple or single. There is a sofa bed but the curtains in the living room are not long enough so there is plenty of light in the morning. The flat was clean. The shower has no power/pressure so you don't have a great shower experience. The condominium is nice but is quite far from the town and there is only one sand beach close by. Overall if you are a couple or alone I would recommend.

A vacation studio in Kaunakakai, Molokai's main town on the southern shore. Close to great eats, stores, beaches, and more. There is a Pool, Store, Restaurant, and Bar on the property. Our studio is clean and well maintained. We have a microwave, Refrigerator ,coffee maker, cooler, and beach towels. There are laundry facilities outside the unit. We hope you choose to stay with us and enjoy Molokai.
The vacation studio has cable TV, Wifi, microwave and mini-fridge. The building has a laundry facilities. Our studio is clean and well maintained. We have a brand new mattress and AC. We also offer a full size air mattress for additional sleeping.
Kaunakakai is the central town of Molokai, yet it has kept its pristine, quiet, and peaceful atmosphere. There are great local eats and beaches. There are many stars at night to gaze and enjoy.

  • The location is great, the unit is clean and cozy. Leslie is helpful, responds in a timely manner to our questions. I highly recommend this unit to couples visiting Molokai.

    Lucia2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie Ann is a great host! Her communication was top-notch and check-in was a breeze. The unit is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Loved the quiet waterfront location. The onsite restaurant has some great food. Speedy wi-fi throughout the complex and the onsite washer/dryer are handy. Do yourself a favor and download checkin instructions and maps before you leave the airport. Mobile phone service (at least AT&T) on the island can be spotty. I would happily stay here again.

    Ron2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie was very responsive and so helpful!

    Courtney2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie is a very attentive host even though she is off island. She answered all messages immediately and has Charity on hand to handle anything in person. Charity couldn't be nicer. The unit was clean and check in was easy. We liked having the key in a lockbox so we didn't have to worry about loosing it. The unit is at the Hotel Molokai, unfortunately the Restraunt just closed indefinitely. Which means there is no food on site. I'm sure it will re-open with new owners soon. However, because there is no restaurant/bar it was very, very quiet day and night. The pool was also quiet and felt more private than when the restaurant was open. We would recommend this unit to someone who wants to be close to Kaunakakai and doesn't require a kitchen.

  • Richard's place was amazing. The condo is quite big, it has all the necessary and although it is a bit far from the main city, it is at an amazing place and has a great view on the ocean. Everything worked out perfectly, the car was waiting for us at the airport and inside were all the info to get to the condo. Unfortunately three days were not enough to enjoy the condo and the relaxed atmosphere of Molokai west side, as Molokai offered us much more than what we expected and kept us busy all the time. We will definitely come back!

  • If you are even considering a trip to Molokai, please simply do yourself a favor and stay here in this lovely paradise! I spent 6 glorious days at Richard and Pat's place, which was the perfect haven for rest, relaxation, long morning runs, beach bumming, sunsets, slow cooking, and a great hopping off point for exploring the beautiful and quiet island. Molokai was the perfect medicine to reconnect with things that really matter in life, and has a special authenticity that is impossible to describe in words. Richard and Pat's place is pristine and well-equipped with everything you will need and more. And the car was just great - made my arrival and exploring the island seamless. Will definitely be back!

  • Beautiful location, spacious home! Great for relaxing, I loved sitting in the common grassy area to watch the sunset and it's probably one of the few places you can airbnb that are "close" to town. We had debated between staying here and the west end and were glad we stayed here instead otherwise it would have been a trek to go anywhere. The beds were super comfortable and everything was well stocked. It felt like a vacation home so some items weren't used very often. We had a great time driving around to the various beaches, snorkeling. Check-in and out was simple, and Kathi was always available via e-mail/phone. Internet was a bit slow at times but Molokai is a place to go to unplug ! :)

    Karen2016-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kathi was easy to reach. Loved the ability to cook outside and to sit by the channel and just relax. At times it was hard to find a parking spot close to the condo. Loved the chickens and roosters running around the open area.

  • The Condo is very nice situated on the island. Wherever you wanna go it takes max an hour to get there. The Condo was well prepared for us and fully equipped. What we liked most was to have a breeze in the apartment and that we had rueful kitchenette since there are only few restaurants on the island and they are nothing special. The daughter of Jane took care of us and was super-friendly. We even got provided with fresh Ulu fruits when we mentioned that we are looking for it (Ulu is a native plant but not very common anymore). Be aware that you are living on the ground floor (the neighbor above is single and totally quite, you will only hear the TV for a few minutes in the evening, but there were other guests above who had difficulties walking down the stairs without causing an earthquake...). But it's nice since you can open the veranda door and walk across the lawn into the pool. We stayed with a 7 month old baby and can totally recommend this place.

Our house is located on the island of Molokai with lanais offering beautiful views of the islands of Maui and Lanai. This unit, downstairs in our house, includes one bedroom with queen size bed, full kitchen and private attached bathroom. Also 2 sofa beds and futon.
One private bedroom is available in a home with a small permaculture farm. Friendly hosts make any visit a pleasure. (We also offer 2 bedrooms as a separate listing under Spectacular Ocean View (one with a queen size bed and the 2nd with two single beds) Molokai is an unusual island with deserted beaches and a strong local culture. It is the least spoiled and commercial of all the islands in Hawaii. Everything is very low key and laid back. There is very little traffic on the island, and no traffic lights, just a few stop signs. It has the tallest waterfall, the longest, most pristine white sand beach in all the islands, and the Kamakou Preserve, a rain forest maintained by the Nature Conservancy. You can use this home as your base to explore the entire island because we are centrally located on the south shore of the island, 4.5 miles east of the town of Kaunakakai. Life in Molokai can be too quiet for some people! There are very few restaurants, and little to no night life. There is live music at the Molokai hotel and on weekends there are additional venues. It is different, as the primary mission of Molokai residents, the majority of whom are Hawaiian, is to re-weave the thread that connects them to their extraordinary past. Our neighborhood is a development of two acre lots on the East Side of the island. Not too far is the town of Kaunankakai, which has a few grocery stores, a couple of art galleries with wonderful artwork, a hardware store, a wonderful ice cream store called Dave's, a bicycle shop, a dive store, etc., and Kalele Bookstore with the world's friendliest owner who holds all sorts of special interest events such as monthly film screenings, and book signings, etc. Because we are not within walking distance of good swimming beaches, markets, and restaurant, please be sure that a rental car is available before you book with us. Rental cars are available through Alamo and (website hidden). Fyi you may also use the free commute bus system, the schedule for which can be found by searching Molokai MEO for the county of Maui. Also we have limited refrigerator space and generally do not make our kitchen and fridge available to short term guests. We do make space for guests to put away a few items in the fridge for their lunches or beer, wine, etc. However if you are staying for a week or longer we will allow use of the kitchen and understand you can not eat out often.
We have lots of sunshine, good strong breezes and sometimes too much for my potted plants in the nursery area, but it keeps the house cool even in the summer. We have lots of young tropical trees that we have planted and gorgeous views from everywhere on the hill.
  • Roshani and John were perfect and wonderful hosts. Everything was as described or even better. We felt very lucky staying with them.

    Peter2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Roshani and John were not there during our stay, but were very responsive, and their friend in Molokai was available for anything. they left stuff in the fridge for us! The house is awesome, great views on the ocean and Maui, and perfectly located to enjoy the island. Wish we could meet them. I recommend staying there!

  • John and Roshani were wonderful hosts! We felt right at home. Their house is in great location; centrally located on the island. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Their lanai has a spectacular view of the ocean and the island of Lanai- you could just sit out there for hours. As an added bonus, they prepared a delicious breakfast every morning for us. Thank you again for your warm welcome and hospitality

    Nina2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Roshani and John welcomed us into their open, airy home with a breathtaking view of the water, the islands of Lanai and Maui in the distance, and fed us delicious, plentiful breakfasts overlooking the lovely island. Everything was as promised and more.

  • This airbnb was perfect for me! The views were amazing.

    Tim2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Roshani and John's comfortable and beautiful home nestled in the hills, has fantastic views. Its central location means that you can explore all of Molokai very easily. The main town is only a few miles away. Roshani and John were not there during my stay but their friend Kathy was there to look after the guests and she is a very helpful, kind and gracious host. Molokai is a friendly and relaxing island and staying here was the cherry on the cake. It was a wonderful experience and I shall certainly return. Mahalo.

    Marta2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Roshani and John were the perfect hosts. They made us feel very welcome, answered numerous questions before we arrived and while we were there, showered us with great regional fruits, and even invited us to eat dinner with them. As you can see from the picture, their home has a view that can't be beat--Maui, Lanai, and Kahoolawe, with lots of whale sightings in the winter. The guest apartment downstairs is fully equipped and has the same great view. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

  • We had a wonderful experiance in Molokai, staying Rosanin & John's house. View from lanai of their house was so spectaculars and we enjoyed breakfast everyday at there. The hospitality of Roshani & John was outstanding. We really enjoyed the stay.

Full renovation July 2017. This quaint 2nd floor oceanfront condo with spectacular ocean views on the lush and undeveloped east end of the " friendly" island of Molokai , is one of the most picturesque locations. Enjoy the amenities of the Wavecrest Resort; 5 acres along the ocean with tennis courts, pool, and recreation building. We are close to other spectacular beaches, hiking, & waterfalls. Airport is about 30 minutes away. And the main town of Kaunakakai is a beautiful 13 mi drive.
Our second floor 720sf condo has beautiful ocean views as one of the Wavecrest Resort's most recent (7/17) fully renovated one bedroom units. The lanai has a lovely round glass table that seats 4 for dramatic ocean side dining; nearby is a bar height small table with two matching bar height comfortable arm chairs with a perfect height to view the gorgeous scenery. And throughout the unit and balcony-lanai is stylish porcelain tile. A matching large black black leather couch & love-seat is complemented by new glass coffee & end tables. The kitchen now includes 3 sections of quartz countertops with all new stainless appliances and offset by a butcher-block island that seats four. With the newly finished bedroom with queen bed and a new bathroom vanity, countertops and toilet .....along with a revere light grey painted condo that matches the whitewashed wood look porcelain floor thru-out.... it is a real comfortable place to hangout. And for your add-on friends & family we have a blowup queen bed, a single futon or full length couch to sleep on.
The east end of Molokai is the prettiest; with 5000+ foot peaks , somewhat tropical and perhaps the most scenic drive in the islands from mile maker nine(9) to 25 where the road ends at Halawa Valley; also cooler but doesn't rain that much....stop and pull over at every little opportunity. And relax at the Wavecrest Resort covered clubhouse at the pool (URL HIDDEN) always cool and protected with large bay windows , barbecues, shuffleboard, benches at waters edge and a stretch of grass that runs along the ocean for a soccer field and don't forget to take in our black sand beach at low tide.
  • We went in family (2 and our son). The flat is all new, with a marvelous view , just in front of the sea. The balcony is large, so we can eat outside on very nice chairs and tables. It's very spacious inside too. We enjoyed very much our stay there, and Chris and his wife are very helpful.

    Babeth2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's unit was just renovated and is beautifully decorated and furnished. Everything is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need, including a Keurig coffee machine! The view is absolutely incredible and the grounds are impeccably well-kept. The pool/BBQ area was always perfectly clean and had tons of space. We loved hanging out by the pool or on the lawn looking out towards the ocean. Wavecrest Resort is about 20-25 minutes from Kaunakakai, so it is very serene and quiet. We absolutely loved it and the island of Molokai in general!

    Marissa2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful stay in this condo....very clean and comfortable and an amazing view....we will miss it

    Ursula2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The swimming pool, barbecue grills, grounds and Chris's place were awesome. We spent one week driving and hiking all around Molokai and believe Chris's location was definitely the best place to stay on the island. His condo is top notch. We would definitely stay there again. No complaints. If you are going to Molokai, you need to give this place serious consideration. Mike and Marie

Central, easy location. Axis Deer head uphill in the morning to the cool uplands. No traffic lights to stop at, no elevator to wait for. Located just 4 miles east of Kaunakakai town. Limited restaurants so cooking at the house is a great option.
This tropical hideaway tucked among the hills just 4 miles east of Kaunakakai, overlooking the longest "fringing" reef in The U.S. and ancient Hawaiian fishponds. Come, stay, and relax in the breeze and enjoy the sunsets. 2 king size beds, futon pad, 2 couches, plenty of sleep space! bathroom #1 has large tropical rain shower, toilet and sink w/mirror bathroom #2 has toilet and his/hers double sink (no shower or tub) The house is very open to allow for free flow of air and mana (Spirit) . The tiled lanai offers wonderful ocean/5 island views on clear days(Molokai, Lanai'i, Kaho'olawe, Maui & Hawaii). Full Kitchen with all utensils to make your own gourmet meals. ALLERGY ALLERT : I love my HOUSE CAT ! She is away at Kitty Kamp but be aware that she DOES live in the house! Just in case allergies are an issue.
Quiet, open, private. This "hill" is FAMOUS for its spectacular sunset views. You may see paddle boarders, & kite surfers skimming over the surface of an ancient fishpond. Watch huge herds of axis deer walk the trail up the mountain to the shady trees above. Private road, off of the highway. Stars you can almost touch!
  • The gravel driveway is steep narrow and has big rocks that dented the van. Very dangerous for big vans. And the tree branch blocked more than half the driveway that scratched the van. House still remodeling be careful when using furniture that's old antique because you broke you pay full price. Despite you can see someone shower the shower is awesome. The view is spectacular and was a good price for 6 people.

  • We loved our stay at Darlene's place especially with such a wonderful host like Patricia. Before we even arrived, Patricia check in with us since she knew the market closed early on Sundays and made sure we were nourished upon arrival. Patricia also came by after our first night for lomi lomi- AMAZINGG! We were traveling on on a work trip and had everything we needed. It was the most nourishing place to return to after long days presenting. The hammock overlooking the ocean was rocked me to sleep several times and simply sitting out on the lanai was a wonderful way to unwind every evening. We'll definitely return.

    Dani2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Exellent stunning location. In the middle of the island. Amazing view and sunsets. Quiet and calm place. For Molokai this place is our recommendation. Additionally great communication with host hostess Patricia. Joanna. Greg. Michal.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay here at this fun property overlooking the Molokai coast. The house itself is not completely finished, but everything we needed to enjoy our stay was available, and we couldn't have asked for more in terms of location. The sunsets and view are stunning, the deer cruise by the house every morning on their way down the mountain, and there are no neighbors nearby to spoil the peace and quiet. Someone was always available to answer questions about the house for us. The eclectic atmosphere of the house might be a bit surprising at first, but give it a chance; this property is clearly a labor of love, and we would love to come back in a few years and see what it looks like with all the finishing touches.

  • This house is a refuge. It is filled with love. A amazing an well equipped kitchen where you can cook together and enjoy great meals. Very comfortable beads and beautiful bathrooms. And then the Lanai and gardens where you can spend a afternoon or maybe the whole day. Enjoying the fruits from the own trees and hanging around. The beach, although not good for swimming is beautiful to take a walk. Using the kayaks is pretty much fun and good for fitness. For us it was not easy to say good bye to Mikals little peace of heaven. We warmly recommend this beach house for a stay on Moloka'i. Mahalo

  • This was the perfect honeymoon spot. The house is private and beautiful, and the island is very quiet with almost no tourists at all. If I could re-do our entire honeymoon I'd stay in this exact house again and wouldn't change a thing.

  • Moloka'i Beach House was my first Airbnb experience. My family and I spent five nights in Moloka'i. An amazing experience. Mikal is a generous host. She feels like family. The house is amazing. The people of Moloka'i are friendly, welcoming. "Don't change Moloka'i, let Moloka'i change you." I highly recommend this property.

    Ana2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, incredible attention to detail and excellent communication make for a great stay! Mikal's home is lovely! The garden is wonderfully fragrant and the outdoor shower is amazing! She has high quality appliances as well as nice dishes and utensils - the kitchen is great! The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms first rate - there is even a claw foot tub! The washer and dryer are up-to-date and worked well. Mikal is a great communicator - very responsive over email and text. We had a very nice Welcome basket waiting for us upon our arrival, a very easy process, I might add, as Mikal's instructions were very thorough. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is no air conditioning but there are plentiful fans. There is also no microwave but there is a dishwasher, tastefully matching the rest of the kitchen. From the kids' perspective, they really enjoyed the kayaks, Monopoly (they love board games!) and the paints. We put them in the living room in the pune'e bed. It was a good fit for our kids but larger kids might want different arrangements. My only negative: one night when we didn't feel like cooking, I got food poisoning at the Paddler's Inn two blocks away so be careful! Overall, a wonderful stay! What really makes this place stand out is Mikal's incredible attention to detail with lots of nice artwork and little touches which really make the place attractive and interesting! The house has so much personality and charm and the garden allows one to have privacy while being surrounded by beauty!

  • Magical! This gorgeous house was a vacation all by itself. It absolutely exudes ease. We loved sitting in the hammock on the back porch. Walking out the yard on to the beach. Taking the kayaks out. Water in front is super sheltered and very very calm. There is a really fun place to swim off the pier which is just down the beach from the house. We feel very lucky to have this experience. Many thanks! Molokai is incredible! So unpretentious and unspoiled. We would love to come back!

  • We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. The communication was great, location within walking distance to grocery stores and the house itself so well equipped and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here.

    Catherine2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in this house in Molokai with our three children (including a 7 month old baby) for about a month and it was just superb. The house is stunning, full of little corners with beautiful things to look at and a perfect layout for a family or even a couple whether you want privacy or not. The kitchen is a wonder if one likes cooking like we do, the rooms are cosy and the garden smells (and looks) like paradise. We loved this house so much that it was like leaving home after a month. Julie (who helps with the house) and Mikal were wonderful to deal with, always in touch if we needed anything. Mikal even ordered us a high chair for the baby because we were missing one ! The location is also very convenient, right in the middle of the island, a 5 minute walk to the grocery store and about 30 minute drive from each extremity of the island. The house was a big part of making our stay in Molokai very special and we look forward to returning to paradise soon...

  • Molokai remains one of the last vestiges of the true Hawai'ian experience. Sigrid's condo, at the Moloka'i Shores, is a perfect base to explore Moloka'i. Beautiful lanai (aka balcony) views of the ocean and the island of Lanai. Down the road from the Moloka'i Hotel and Hula Shores. Sigrid is an awesome host and her little slice of Moloka'i paradise is perfect. Sigrid kept excellent communications throughout the booking process and during our stay on Moloka'i. The Moloka'i Shores is close to town, a mile or so from Kaunakaikai (or K'Kai); if you need bikes, look-up Moloka'i Bike -- Phillip is awesome! Skip the one hotel on-island and experience true Aloha from Sigrid's spot on the Moloka'i Shores.

    Ian2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sigrid's condo is a nice place. The view from the balcony is really awesome, such a nice spot to enjoy the sunset. The building dates from the 70s so it is not new and shiny. But it has a very nice atmosphere and is laid back. It suits this lovely little island. From the condo you can easily walk to the neighboring Molokai hotel. Nice cocktails and live Hawaiian music over there. Throughout our stay (snd before) Sigrid was very helpful. We loved our stay at her place.

    Monika2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sigrid is a wonderful host, who responded quickly and with great attention to all communications. She clearly cared that we were enjoying our stay and went out of her way to help us with things like setting up the wifi internet and finding a car rental nearby when we couldn't (by the way, to anyone coming to Molokai--rent a car MONTHS in advance if possible! There are very few available on the island).

Aloha Hoa Hele is a 32 ft sailboat and Alex Mawae's project is to try and get this boat up and running for Youth in Motion. This is also his personal fundraiser so that he can paddle in his stand up paddle events for 2017. You can read more about Alex on http://www.youthinmotion.org/members-spotlight/alexmawae/ We also ask that you help Alex with this project and we so desperately want to get her sailing again.
Hoa Hele is a boat that was donated Clare Mawae for Youth in Motion. However Alex Mawae her son has taken this as one of his personal projects to use the boat as his fundraising for paddling events and to get her seaworthy again to make trips to Maui. The boat is very basic and Alex is asking that you help him with a little time each day in trying to get her back out to sea . Right now we need the engines to work and that is the big problem and then we need to get the rigging sorted. All the money from this boat is going to Alex’s paddling and helping to maintain the basics to keep Hoa Hele at her slip here in Kaunakakai.
  • Great to be back on Hoa Hele! Folks have done nice work cleaning. (A vacuum would help with some difficult areas.) The person who scrubbed the hull clean did amazing good work! Nice to have the cockpit and sink drain again!!! Varnished wood looks great, too. We got the hinges back on the cabin ceiling hatches and treated some of the weathered wood with wood hardener. Sparrows are looking to start their next nest in the outboard motor again! Beautiful sunrises, sunsets and stars, as always. Exciting wharf life. Polynesian voyaging canoe Hikianalia came in for a one-week visit. Mysterious night heron every night, and waters occasionally boiling with schools of fishes. Great place to be, Hoa Hele.

    Karl and Maia2016-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Review - Hoa Hele This is a great opportunity for the adventurous and resourceful. If one is prepared for camping on the beach, Hoa Hele is very classy and up-town. If not, Hoa Hele is fairly primitive. It is a nice boat that needs lots of work. And it's a great opportunity to experience life at the wharf - learn about some of the infrastructure that makes Moloka'i tick. Plus, membership gives one access to water toys! We enjoyed our stay a lot! Mahalo nui!

    Karl and Maia2015-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying aboard the Hoa Hele was the perfect way to experience Molokai. The boat itself was just as described, pictured and envisioned. Laid back Molokai with nothing but friendly people, crashing waves and an open night sky of stars to keep you distracted and happy. All of the basics are right there where you need them, for an incredible Glam-ping experience. Clare was a most excellent host, meeting us at the Kaunakaikai harbor; leaving us to our own devices but remaining available should we need her. The Hoa Hele is also perfectly situated near Town (Kaunakaikai), in the marina/harbor. The marina itself is a friendly community, always looking out for each other and there if you need them. The facilities themselves also exceeded expectations -- with clean 24-hour bathrooms/showers. If you're into fishing, this is also the place for you -- plenty of locals catching sardines as bate for much more sporting fish. The Town is just a stroll down the wharf -- with the Town's only gas station, market (Friendly Market) and a few eating options (Paddlers Inn, etc.) just a short stroll away. If you're looking for a truly Molokai experience, skip the hotel and head to the Hoa Hele instead.

    Ian2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The boat was exactly what I expected and wanted. I'd definitively stay again, Clare's a great host btw

  • The boat is very basically a bed to sleep in. If you have skills to help fix up the boat, please stay here- you could consider it a volunteer vacation. Molokai is a wonderful island with hidden treasures if you are observant and open.

  • I really enjoyed my stay on the youth in motion sailboat. Clare and everyone around at the wharf were very friendly and welcoming. The sailboat was cozy and had everything one needs (restrooms, supermarket) close by. This was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to fix things :)

  • The boat was exactly what I was expecting. I really enjoyed sitting on the boat deck looking out at the ocean. I also enjoyed waking up at night and being able to see the stars. It was a little bit hot even with all the windows open.

  • It was great. Sleeping direct by the wharf.....Incredible. Thanks for this adventure Clare.

Very nice one bedroom condo with views of the Pacific Ocean, and the island of Lanai from the lanai. Wintertime has the whales breaching in the channel and sunsetting over the ocean.
Kitchen has nice tiled countered and all the amenities you need during your stay. Tiled entrance in hallway, bath, and living room. The bedroom has carpet. This condo does have WIFI available during your stay. Enjoy the tropical breezes from the covered patio from this ground floor unit. Kaunakakai Town is about 2 minutedrive and that is where most of the groceries, art shops, gift stores, mini markets, restaurants, equipment rentals and our county offices. The east end of Molokai with other great little beaches, a playground for the little ones and a small market with takeout foods is a good hour drive. There are many things to see and do on Molokai but most are all outdoors. If you like to paddle rent a kayak or Stand up board and paddle over our barrier reef. Molokai is about entertaining yourselves, although Hotel Molokai on a Friday Night is entertaining itself! On Molokai's West end you will find some unspoiled beaches. There is Kepuhi Beach and it is great for surfing in the winter months and perfect for swimming/snorkeling in the summer months. Just a short walk from there and over the old golf course is the Papohaku Beach to the longest white sand beach in the state of Hawaii. Very rough in the winter months and cannot swim, but awesome to watch the waves break in and in the summer months great for long ocean swims and shell finding. A short walk to the left brings you to Make Horse with lots of little tide pools for taking a cold tub or letting the little ones catch the little fish. Nice beach hike can be done from Paniolo Hale to the point. 20 minutes take a Cook House with indoor and outdoor seating, the coffee Plantation, Coffees of Hawaii which has a coffee bar and Wi-Fi and a gift shop, along with some other shops. Our unit is a top floor corner space. We have a kitchen window looking out to the mountains, and a lanai with an ocean view. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise, or finish the day with a sunset.
We are on the top floor and a corner unit, what a perfect combination. We too have a kitchen window only those of us with corner units have them, with a view towards the mountain no less. We have a view of the ocean from the Lanai. The Lanai is one of my favorite places to watch the sunrise while having my coffee. The space is an older comfortable one bedroom unit with a king size bed in the bedroom, and a hide a bed good for only one person in the living room. The kitchen is perfect for those looking to save money from having to go out to eat. Also a BBQ is located at the Cabana by the swimming pool. Cable TV. DVD. Internet is provided through the condominium association. Linens and Towels are provided.
  • Lisa provides a very spacious and clean place to call home. She was very accesible and quick to answer any questions. Her place has just about anything you can need on a getaway. I would most definitely reach out to Lisa again on my next Molokai visit.

  • Lisa was very easy to contact and response quickly and deals with the issues (ie blender replaced and TV signal was lost and she immediatly contacted her provider and issue was resolved over the phone with me) Deffintly need a car to get around.

  • Great location, good HOA amenities, but unit needs work. It has been neglected. Poor cabinets, needs repainting, old small TV, stereo does not work, basic furniture.

  • This is a great basic Molokai condo unit - well located in the quiet Wavecrest Resort and in a nice part of the island. Lisa does a great job of communicating and being very responsive to her guest's needs.

  • What a wonderful stay! Lisa was so kind and always responded quickly to questions. The unit was very cute and spacious, with beautiful views and a breeze! So thankful to have been able to stay here. A hui ho!

  • This place has a beautiful view from the balcony! It's super spacious! The bed is huge; the sofa couch is broken though, FYI. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with necessary materials (pans, toasters, etc for breakfast, and towels for the beach and bathing). Both the host and the people who work at the resort are super friendly and welcoming and are happy to give recommendations. On our first night we were, unfortunately, visited by a ton of bugs because we had all the lights on at night and there were some small holes in the screens. The bugs were harmless; they didn't bite, however, there were many. I reached out to Lisa and her response was relatively speedy. The advice she gave us helped us tremendously for the next night. Biggest word of advice: keep all unnecessary lights off at night because the bugs are attracted to them and close the windows at night as well so the bugs can't get in. I'd also recommend leaving 1 lamp on so that if bugs do get in, they're contained to one area.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Lisa's condo, we have no complaints about our visit! It had an amazing view, we were able to see whales out in the ocean from the lanai and it was also a great way to catch the sunrise. Loved hearing the birds every morning, it was so peaceful. We appreciated being able to cook our own meals, sit at the table or out on the lanai and just relax. We would keep the sliding door open (with the screen door closed) and the windows in the bedroom open which created a great cooling breeze throughout the condo. The location was perfect for us because we were close to the protected beaches which was what we needed with a toddler. Not too far of a drive to town, but it is pretty close to the Mana'e Goods & Grindz if you want a bite to eat or need very basic groceries. The complex itself was very well kept and the pool/cabana area were very nice. There were even disposable swim diapers available at the cabana. We're hoping we'll be able to stay at Lisa's place on our next visit!
