I have additional houses available West Point Graduation 2018. Do you have a special Birthday ? Anniversary? How about a work retreat ? or do you want a break from the concrete jungle ? This charming 1910 farmhouse is perfect for resting, relaxation, restoring. It is fantastic for preparing meals as a group and having a decadent dinners with close friends or colleagues. Mature guests ONLY who can appreciate the tranquility of this peaceful setting. Although I love a good party, large loud groups who need to party hearty can bypass this listing. I am sorry we can not accommodate weddings. Think country, quiet, intimate, serene and restorative .... There are three buildings on the property and you will have access to two ( the main house and gym/studio) plus all the amenities. There are many great homes in this area. Although our home is truly a retreat. I once wanted to own a spa and the closest I have come is adding endless amenities. The grounds are beautifully landscaped allowing for a walking meditation admiring the wonders of nature. Using our outdoor walking labyrinth calms your mind as you weave into the center and out. Adjacent is the hot tub to soak your weary bones. The outdoor living room cabana is equipped with a gorgeous stone fireplace ( we provide the wood for your convenience use as much as you like additional fee does apply). A glass of wine and the flames of a fire are a great way to end a summers day. Lounge by the pool and or revitalize in the sauna, you choose. Keep in mind the pool and pool area are opened seasonally (at the owners discretion). The pool is heated by the warmth of mother nature in other words the SUN (no pool heater). We have a king, full, queen and one twin mattresses on the second floor ( which sleeps 7 people). The trundle beds are great for overflow and perfect for night time use. The porch has a two twin bed and a full size mattress ( sleeps 4). The porch is now heated. There is one queen size bed and futon in the studio above the gym. Keep in mind the Barn / outbuilding is a rustic experience and does not contain a bathroom. More simplified : Master Bedroom - 1 king Second bedroom - 1 full, 1 twin Third bedroom - 1 queen Porch - 2 twin, 1 full Studio - 1 queen, 1 full futon Several Queen air mattresses if needed The only question you will be asking yourself each day is which means should I use today to relax? Perhaps take a bath in the pedestal claw foot like bath tub surrounded by candles in the master bedroom? Or indulge in a steam shower? Or lounge on the deck off the master bedroom? Or do you love to cook? Our sunlight kitchen with Viking stove with 6 burners and griddle allows for plenty of creativity and hours of entertaining. One charming feature of being in the Garrison area are dirt roads and driveways. We are preserving this feature and have a dirt driveway (A wet winter or spring could mean a little mud). Wireless internet and cable are available. We are a two minute drive to the Metro North Poughkeepsie line train station or a 15 minute walk. Lastly, we thrive on feedback and suggestions only in this way can we continue to enhance the beauty of this retreat space. • We really enjoyed our stay at Claudine's beautiful home. The house was accessible from the main road, making it easy to explore the surrounding towns, but secluded enough to allow for pure relaxation. Everything was very clean and the property was well maintained. Guests are allowed to use all areas of the house except the basement and a smaller separate house in the backyard (which Claudine and family use while renting). We took full advantage of the fully-equipped kitchen, huge gym, steam shower, hot tub and pool area (although, unfortunately, it was a bit too cool that day to get in). One point that should be highlighted is that Claudine and family remain on the property and occasionally do need to enter the home. We had no problem with this as she communicated clearly when she would enter, however this is not stated very clearly on the listing and perhaps other, more private guests could take issue. That said, the house is exactly how it appears in the pictures and we would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the Hudson Valley. Claudine is a great hostess and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Great house! Perfect for our group retreat!

    Risa2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a retreat for a small group at this property and loved the home. Set in a secluded little area, the home is beautiful! Decorated in a way that feels so homey and welcoming. Beautiful outdoor space with a fireplace that’s perfect for sitting anytime at day or night. Bedrooms were beautiful and stocked with trundle beds for extra sleeping space. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking together. Would recommend this property!

    Carol2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Overall this experience was a huge disappointment and I would not recommend staying here. Perhaps this was primarily due to the fact that we booked in the middle of winter and the property is really set-up for summer rentals so amenities like the pool were closed and the gym and sauna, which are separate outbuildings, were more unpleasant to access by walking through the snow. Our biggest let-down however, was the service. Claudine was unprepared for our stay and this was punctuated by the discovery of brown stains on our bedsheets at midnight on our first night, followed by the discovery of a pair of women's underwear upon stripping the bed. After searching through a cluttered closet for another set, we found all the sheets to be stained or misfit for the bed. Other housekeeping disappointments were: ALL the towels had the mildewy smell from a front-load washer that had not been sanitized in a long time, floors were unclean, we felt unwelcome in the sauna due to dirty pool furniture cushions piled up for winter storage. Planning on cooking a family dinner and a breakfast on Sunday, I found dirty and dusty pots and cookware throughout the disorganized cabinets and after cooking dinner, abandoned the plan of cooking breakfast. The pictured Viking stove had broken and missing knobs and in the end, even my dinner plan for a London Broil had to be adjusted by a non-functioning broiler. The beautifully pictured bathtub was not working but we were not advised of this before arrival. This was my girlfriend's and my daughter's birthday weekend and we were all disappointed to find the house had an overwhelming "lived in" feeling. There was a overbearing sense of the family's presence throughout the house, especially in the bedrooms, including their clothes in the dressers, etc. No one slept in Claudine's daughter's bedroom because they felt too uncomfortable with the "One Direction" posters plastered all over the walls, which are not pictured in the listing. The highly cluttered laundry/toy/play area adjacent to the kitchen was an eyesore and could easily be closed off with a locked door for or even a curtain with a "Private" sign on it. As for hosting decorum, we also felt uncomfortable that Claudine and her children move into a small shack on the property while guests occupy the house. We really had the impression that this was a weekend home, not that the family lives in the house full time and stays on the property during guest stays. We were shocked when Claudine freely entered the house on Saturday morning to get items out of the basement. She didn't knock or ring, but simply walked in. For a property that was listing at $900 per night one would think that the owner would knock, ring the doorbell or call and apologize for disturbing her guest.

  • We had a fabulous stay at Claudine's beautiful place in Garrison. It was perfect for my sister's bachelorette, and we had a blast, while rarely even leaving the house. Between the pool area, the hot tub, and the huge kitchen, we were busy and happy the whole time. Claudine was helpful and flexible the whole time. Highly recommend!

    Meredith2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Claudine was very helpful and and accommodating for our team retreat. When we arrived, she had a fire burning and we started our sessions outdoors. She coordinated yoga for us, made sure we had everything we need and was accessible. We will be back!

  • Absolutely wonderful listing. This property is a perfect getaway destination for couples and families, although not limited to any certain type of travelers. Karen and Annette have been more than accommodating and hospitable to us - and the bottles of wine were a perfect finishing touch! 10/10 would stay again. =)

  • Coming through the area on business, introducing more coworkers to Airbnb... I knew where to stay. Annette and Karens. Always a 10/10!

  • The hosts are true gems! I felt extremely welcomed and comfortable. I recommend this home for a short or long term stay. It was a great first AirBnB stay :)

  • Karen and Annette were so hospital that we decided to stay another night. Well worth it!

    Gabriel2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Annette were fantastic hosts from beginning to end. Not only quick to respond but extremely nice, accommodating, and thoughtful. Though we only face timed, all logistics were very easy and detailed and I always got the impression that they had fun hosting as opposed to 'needing to get it done'. The place is great (and also very clean), a wonderful getaway 'home'. I highly suggest heading there with more than a day in order to enjoy it properly. Thank you both so much, I hope I can come back soon! Courtney

ALWAYS easy to communicate with - clear, prompt, you know exactly what you're getting. ALWAYS friendly, generous, kind and fun to be with! ALWAYS a clean, cozy, and refreshing place to be! Thank you again for a lovely experience and, again, we can't wait until next time! Jen

  • Great charming house at a great price. We were greeted with a warm welcome, iced tea and the best homemade chocolate chip cookies we ever tasted. We had to leave early the next day but that did not stop our hosts from leaving a take along breakfast. We plan on staying again.

    john2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce was extremely communicative from the moment I requested to book his home. On the day of my arrival, he was ready for me and my Mom with tea and cookies. His wife Andrea had just finished getting our adorable rooms ready, and after getting to know each other a bit we dropped our things and went to take a beautiful hike at Bear Mountain after Bruce's suggestion. At night we were extremely comfortable as we had the chance to sit in the cozy living room and watch tv. Our room was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom spacious and clean. In the morning Bruce had breakfast ready for us right before our departure, and they were already preparing for another guest that very evening. My Mom and I had a wonderful stay and will definitely stay here again on any future trips. Thank you Bruce and Andrea!

Cortlandt Manor is a hamlet located in the Town of Cortlandt in northern Westchester County, New York. Cortlandt Manor is situated directly east, north and south of Peekskill, and east of three sections of the Town of Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Crugers, and Montrose. Most of the area is made up of residential homes. Cortlandt Manor also encompasses Cortlandt Estates. The Van Cortlandt Upper Manor House is located Van off Oregon Road in Cortlandt just outside the Peekskill city limits. The Upper Manor House was part of the estate of Stephanus Van Cortlandt, the colonial aristocrat and patroon who owned nearly all of northern Westchester County in the late 17th century. The more familiar centerpiece of the old estate, Van Cortlandt Manor, is located in the nearby village of Croton-on-Hudson. Cortlandt is an hour's drive to both a Broadway play and 25 minutes to the Woodbury Commons Premium Outlet.....It's a wonderful getaway from the hectic city life. Our house is located in a very quite street...all our neighbors are very friendly and family driven. Thus, Cortlandt Manor offers an array of recreational family facilities. Residents can swim and play volleyball at the 22-acre Sprout Brook Park, which has a man-made lake, enjoy the scenic overlooks of the 350-acre Hudson Highways Gateway Park and swim in the Olympic pool at the 51-acre Charles J. Cook Recreation Center.

The kuereg was big hit as well as the convenient laundry room. We were very busy out and about during the day so we didn't get to enjoy the backyard or trail behind the house. Decorating was nice. We would stay here again.

    James2016-05-11T00:00:00Z

  • Kim is really nice and very generous. Everything was super-clean; the private room was very large with a very comfortable bed, sofa, easy chair, desk, and more. A very sunny room. Kim provided thoughtful amenities like soft towels, soaps, shampoos, water, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, silverware, and welcomes sharing of the house, especially the beautiful kitchen.

    Peter2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's place is the Value of the Year! I've had a few experiences to date, with Airbnb. Through those experiences, I've learned what to look for and expect in a tenancy. I can say that Kim's place ranks above all the other wonderful lodgings I have had through Airbnb. While the others were great and well represent solid standards in lodging, Kim's place exceeded any expections I may have assumed previously. It is spacious, amply fitted with all the mentioned amenities and more that aren't mentioned. Well suited for the business traveler. Very comfortable bed, amazing shower, professional workspace, abundant room for luggage, clothing and other items needed for the perfect business trip. This is a studio apartment with kitchen access so if you know your way around the kitchen, you are in for a treat. Kim is the very definition of "Superhost". A seasoned pro at providing comfortable living space to her guests. Very accommodating, flexible and detail oriented. If anything is needed to make her guest's stay work, she makes it happen promptly. The perfect combination of hospitality and professionalism. Did I mention clean?? 'A+' rating in cleanliness. very important to me. In my honest opinion, she has topped the rating system at Airbnb and is The model value of Airbnb as an organization. They should cut her a check. As I have expressed to her, when I am back in the area for future business, I won't even consider staying elsewhere if her calendar shows availability.. And to think I almost chose a hotel. Many Thanks Kim! See you in the year ahead.

  • Perfect for late night arrivals. I arrived after midnight and the pre-arranged entry plan worked perfectly. Cute place has more space than pictures show. Jenelle doesn't just "have" a place. She "hosts" it. Bottled water in the fridge was a welcome touch. Communication was outstanding even though we never met face to face. Would stay again for sure.

    Nessim2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Description is completely accurate with even more space! Nice touches are provided and a great quiet area.

    Elizabeth2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable, quiet stay in a beautiful spot. Thanks, Jenelle!

    Brynn2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jenelle is an amazing communicator, probably the best I've yet to encounter on Airbnb. The apartment is exactly as described. It was perfect for my girlfriend, her dog and I. And it was a just right for our first leg of our weekend get away, great location, well kept and quiet. Was no problem to check in a little later as we got in late from seeing the 'Pumpkin Blaze'. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

    Brad2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place is pretty much as advertised. Tons of towels. Old bed. Solid for the price. Watch your head on some of the ceilings though, especially if you're tall. Jenelle responds pretty quickly and is incredibly easy to communicate with. Solid stay overall.

    Brandon2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is lovely! We had a very pleasant stay. I'm looking forward to coming back. ^_^

    Jonathan2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was great. I loved the private entrance. Everything was clean - plenty of towels. The bowl of fresh fruit was a nice touch. There was a large shopping center about 10 minutes away, so even though the home itself was relatively secluded, you could easily access a grocery store, Walmart, and other shops. I had a lovely stay.

    Julia2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • This space was sparkling clean and Jenelle was very responsive to inquiries! One thing to be aware of, there is NO cell service at the house (Tmobile or Verizon). I guess this is common for the area, and WiFi was available so we managed, but it was an adjustment. The apartment was bigger in person than it appears in photos, a nice surprise!

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Rima's "Hilltop Retreat." The house is simple and sweet - comfortable and functional. It truly feels like a retreat, in the woods at the end of the road. The living room provides lovely views and calm setting. And they are music aficionados with a great record collection they graciously allowed us to sample! The area is somewhat remote but not too far from Cold Spring and some very good restaurants. If you go in the winter, I recommend a 4-wheel drive. Rima called shortly after we arrived to make sure all was in order, and everything worked as promised. We can only imagine how pretty it is in the spring or summer.

  • Great getaway with rustic surroundings and all you need to reconnect and rejuvenate.

    Debbie2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • My friends & I had a wonderful experience staying in Rima's home. The house itself is full of old world charm and there is character in every book & cranny of this home. The outdoor scenery was beautiful, and exactly what a city-dweller needs to unwind. The beds were fluffy & comfortable. We stayed for New Years and even though it was cold outside, the house was warm & toasty. Rima was a very accommodating host. The view of the sunset over the mountains was breathtaking. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Bravo, Rima!

  • Very comfortable and cozy house. Great area for walking and enjoying nature.

    Lisa2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rima’s mountain retreat was great for our family of 5. We loved the top-of-the-world view and getaway feel. Kitchen was fully equipped, everything was clean and as advertised. Two of the three beds a little small for our 6’+ crew. Believe her when she tells you it is up a gravel road.

    Marjorie2012-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rima is a very nice and responsible host. Her house is very lovely and the community is very friendly. we love the view of the lake from the top of the hill. 5 people can stay there very cozy. we had a wonderful weekend there. thank you very much Rima!

  • Incredible house, incredible environment. Perfect place to get disconnected and relax. Nothing to say but good things about the house and the host. And the area is amazing, mountains, lakes, vegetation and birds. I would certainly go there again, and maybe consider staying for a full week this time. Thanks Rima!

  • We are two couples in our fifties who travel together to points of interest. We found that Bienvenida's home was comfortable and exceptionally clean. She and her husband have all of the modern amenities we have come to expect for a weekend stay. We had the use of two bedrooms upstairs which was located across the hall from the host's master bedroom. The four of us shared a hall bathroom which was for our exclusive use. There was also a powder room on the first floor for convenience. The main floor consisted of a family room adjacent to the eat in kitchen and dining room. We had free use of these rooms, though the these rooms were also common to the hosts. Though Bienvenida was away, her husband, who was very personable, attended to anything that we might need. We felt our host gave us "space," and for the most part, he was only there if we needed him. He cooked us breakfast which consisted of eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels/muffins, juice and coffee/tea. By the way, he set a very lovely table! There was fruit on the table for our enjoyment during our stay. This house is in a great location! It's close to town activities and nightlife. It's close to the Hudson River tours, Westpoint and also is in good proximity to Beacon. We recommend staying here!

    Theresa2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Bien for 3 days and had a wonderful time! Bien and her husband was very kind and hospitable towards us. The house is very clean and organized, probably cleaner than a hotel! I hope to have the opportunity to stay with them again and any guest would be lucky to have them!

    Rose2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very comfortable home. We had everything we needed and plenty of privacy.

  • Immaculatly presented family house in a quiet spot on the edge of Peekskill. I was without a car so walked from the train station and to downtown and back several times ... It's at least 40mins from the station with a big hill but if you dont enjoy a good walk, make sure you have a car or find a local taxi company!

    Nick2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The hospitality was first rate. From home-cooked breakfast to helping us carry bags, she was a fantastic host. She was really great and accommodating for our two small children.

    Tom2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Bien, was an exceptional host. She met us upon arrival and offered us beverages and snacks and even dinner if we wanted. She is an amazing lady, very friendly and professional at the same time. She immediately made us feel comfortable and right at home. Her gourmet breakfasts were beyond belief. You would have thought she was feeding an army of people. She respected our privacy as we did for hers, we never had any issues. The neighborhood was quiet and convenient to shopping and dinning. We would absolutely stay here again when we travel to NY for see family and friends.

    karen2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I stayed here for the weekend. We had a really positive experience. We didn't get to meet Bienvenida herself , because she is away, but she still was in great communication with us just the same! Her friend took care of us and she did an excellent job! She stayed on top of everything. They left us some delish croissants and muffins for breakfast as well as anything else we needed such a eggs, orange juice etc. We made breakfast ourselves both mornings and it felt like we were at home. There wasn't anything they didn't have available for us. The place was really clean, and comfortable to stay. We had no trouble parking, because it's a big driveway with plenty of space. The check out process was so smooth and Olivia ( Bienvenidas friend who took care of us) was an excellent help making sure we had everything all the way up until we left. She even told us to have a safe trip back!! We had very friendly and helpful hosts! My fiancée and I were very pleased and would definitely recommend Bienvenidas home to any family looking for a great place to stay while in Peekskill!!

You’ll love my place because it is a magical, quaint, guest cottage nestled in the woods of historic Garrison. It features a stone fireplace with wood burning stove, wood floors, walk-in closet, washer /dryer. Perfect for writers/ hikers/ city dwellers who need a break from the bustle. Appalachian Trail is nearby plus many other hikes and trails. It's only 50 miles to NYC, about 4 miles from train station...would need a vehicle. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
    Located on historic dirt road
West Point across the river, Graymoor , Garrison Institute, antiquing in Cold Spring. DIA Museum and restaurants in Beacon. Hiking and trails in the beautiful Hudson Valley
  • We so appreciated Nance’s charming cottage! It is beautifully sited on a historic unpaved road and was authentic in its decor and details, very much as advertised. Thanks again, Nance!

    John2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing and relaxing time at Nance's cabin. It was a super cute space and she had thought of everything - down to stocking the fridge with eggs and English muffins and orange juice for our breakfasts. We found the cabin to be sparkling clean and feel very modern and stylish - we will definitely be back for another relaxing weekend in the woods!

    Hannah2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nance's place was very quite and quiet! It had all the necessary amenities and Nance was very responsive to any questions. We couldn't have asked for more!

    Daniel2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We feel so fortunate that Nance has opened up her cozy and lovely cottage for us and others to enjoy within their beautiful wooded environment. The way the cottage is designed inside and nestled into the hilly/mountainous area provides guests a very comfortable sanctuary in which to rest and relax. The heater works beautifully and we love that there is a fireplace. The queen size bed is very comfortable and the bedding quite nice. It is so convenient to have a washer and dryer in the large walk-in closet that is connected the bedroom. The couch in the living room is large thick and comfy. It was a surprise in that it is also a futon that can turn into a queen size very comfortable bed. It definitely does not look like a futon. The kitchen had everything one would need including a French Press for coffee. Nance even had fruit, milk, cream, butter, bagels, English muffins and more set out and in the refrigerator for us. That was definitely not expected but so appreciated. We greatly appreciated Nance's attention to detail and deliberate thoughtfulness toward her guests. We felt her intentional nurturing care for guests in the way the cottage is appointed inside and the way the outside environment is filled with perennials, a stone path, stone wall & steps, a sitting area and more. We found Garrison to be central in this Hudson River Valley area. It is across the river from West Point, near to hiking and kayaking and 20 minutes to the south of Beacon with its art galleries, shopping and wonderful restaurants. The only disappointment with the cottage and it's beautiful outside environment is that we could not stay longer and truly linger in this serene environment. We cannot wait to return to this quiet and perfect little sanctuary.

  • What a great place to stay on our trip to visit our son! It was just right for my husband, me and our daughter. Nance is an exceptional host!

    Cheryl2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nance's cottage is very nice and quiet. Nice wood burning furnace. The place is very nicely done with everything 1-3 people would need. I recommend staying if you need a place in the area.

    Richard2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin. Cozy and quiet, and close to Bear Mountain, apple picking, and lots of other great towns and attractions. My wife and I stayed here with our two-year-old and were very happy the whole weekend. Highly recommended.

    Gerald2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I came up to the area for a wedding and decided to make a weekend out of it. Nance's place was just perfect for our needs. More than a cottage, we had plenty of space and privacy to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. We were close enough to both Cold Spring and Beacon where we spent most of the day eating and shopping. We then went for an awesome hike on the Breakneck trail with incredible views of the Hudson. Nance's place was so nice to come back to, have a meal and just relax. There's plenty of books to read about local attractions, a nice selection of DVDs to watch, and a well stocked kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and the place was also very clean. Plenty of towels and there was even a washer and dryer. We'd love to come back to the area and explore some more and would definitely stay here again!

  • This cozy and rustic spot was perfect for us. It was across the river from West Point, which is where we were headed. It was only about 20 or 25 minutes to the Academy. The room had a very comfortable bed. In addition it had a sofa, and an easy chair. It also had a table with three chairs, which is where we ate breakfast. Liz provided coffee, and tea. She also left some fruit, bagels, bread, butter and jelly, cereal and milk for breakfast. Although we were only there for one night, it would be a perfect spot for a long weekend.

The room has a queen size thick futon however there is space for an extra folding bed if you are traveling with a child. There is also space in our child's room to share with another child.
We love our neighborhood! It's a private village with private lake beach in the summer, basketball court, playground and tennis court walking distance from our home. We can also drop our guest off if they don't want to walk. It is a nice walk. We also have a above ground 20 foot pool on our yard. Nice to float and relax.
  • Sharon and Jim were wonderful hosts. They made me feel welcomed the entire time that I was there. The house was nice, they treated me like family, and their kids were wonderful. If anyone has a problem with Sharon or Jim, it's because they haven't talked to them ahead of time. They were very accommodating, I really can't praise them enough. If you're looking for something in the country that is still close enough for the City, this is your place. Thanks guys!

    Michael2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon is a warm, friendly and accommodating host. The home is located in a wooded residential area. They have a pool, deck and attractive setting. The bedroom is small, without a desk or reading chair. You are sharing the small bathroom with the entire family. Sharon is clear in her description that you are joining their family. That is very true, so don't expect it to be quiet. She is very kind and attentive.

    Dave2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were friendly and helpful with directions. The neighborhood seemed pleasant. As I had very little time I was unable to enjoy the swimming pool. There was a lot of activity with TV and friends visiting -I would have enjoyed fruit and a bit more breakfast.

  • What a great stay with Sharon and her family! They were such fun, welcoming, and accommodating hosts! It was a clean, cozy, and overall wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!!

  • Awesome host! The room was for my 21 & 16 year old children who drove from St. Louis area. She communicated a lot with me including night they arrived after ten pm. Thank you so much! My daughter said she told her to come back anytime to play with her young children!

    Laura2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon and her family were super friendly and so welcoming! A true "mi casa es tu casa" experience. Sharon picked us up from bear mountain and gave us a little tour of the area which was great since we didn't have a car. The next day the family took us along to an awesome pumpkin-picking trip which was so nice of them to do! All in all a great stay, thanks. Only down side in my opinion was the smell of smoke in the house.

    Dorle2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Engaging family...very pleasant atmosphere

    Stephen2017-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon had a campfire on when I arrived around 10pm, and it felt so enriching to hear her share her life stories and her passion and plans in life. My kids felt very at home there, roaming all rooms and balcony and yard, making instant friends with her kids who are just as welcoming as she is. The room is comfy, and Sharon immediately brought up a foldup twinbed when we requested an extra bed in the room. The neighborhood seemed family friendly with several people walking in the morning for exercise. The country road was a bit winding for us to navigate, as we are used to nj fast roads, but just drive slowly and you can find her home easily. There is even a lake beach in the community which she told us about, but we walked over and somehow couldn't access the beach though we could see it, so if you decide to explore the beach, ask her for directions first.

It was the relaxing getaway I needed. Also it was 20 mins from Bear mountain which was absolutely stunning. Definitely would recommend staying at his home. Thank you again Robert for making my stay so enjoyable.

  • Englisch/ German Comment: The communication was really easy and fast even though Laura wasn‘t home all the time, because of a trip. We arrived as nobody was home, but Laura sent a understandable introduction a few Hours before, therefore we hadn ‘t any problems while entering. Note for European: A typical American breakfast is a coffee and cereal. That was there and good but everything else you would like to eat you need to buy :) Room and own bathroom super clean and spacious / big. It wasn‘t a problem to add a third Person spontaniously ( + it was for free) . Note to Location: You need a car to be flexible to go to town and in gernal a little further, but that‘s because of the whole area and not because of their place. We would really recommend to stay at their place, for us it worked out really good and we would stay there again :) German Version : Super Kommunikation, sehr schnelle Antworten von Laura + hilfreich bei Fragen, obwohl sie nicht vor Ort wahr Ankunft ohne Gastgeber hat durch ausführliche und verständliche Beschreibung gut funktioniert.

  • Such a beautiful home set back in the woods! If you’re interested in tranquility, Laura and Bob will not disappoint. You can expect quick responses and open communication. Laura, herself, even came out to meet us when we took a wrong turn. They are such warm people, gracious hosts. Rooms are clean and cozy and the offer of breakfast and snacks is very thoughtful. Since we make this trip to NY often, we will always book with Laura and Bob!

  • Special thanks to Laura and Bob for being so hospitable! We often travel to Westchester County and always request to stay here. They have a spacious, private and very comfortable home, perfect for a quick getaway. I highly recommend Laura and Bob!

  • There is true delight in staying at Laura and Bob's place. I travel often and rarely take the time to leave a review. Not only is their home super comfortable, clean and quiet...not only are the views from every part of the house breathtakingly gorgeous...not only are Laura and Bob responsive and responsible hosts...they are incredibly kind people (who returned my sunglasses to me after I accidentally left them behind). It was an easy, affordable, wonderful experience that I would love to repeat sometime should I be in Yorktown Heights, and will definitely recommend to friends and family when they ask for an upstate NY retreat. Thanks again, Laura and Bob!

  • Laura and Bob’s place was very cool and they were very kind and friendly. Super pretty area and very conveniently located near the Jack O’ Lantern Blaze, which was what brought us to the area. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area- thanks again!

  • Beautiful property. Snuggled cozily in the woods by a pond. Very clean home and open design. Large bedroom and bathroom with brand new furnishings. Quiet wooded escape.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Laura & Bob's place for one night, for a quick trip into the city. We arrived to the residence in the afternoon, we discovered that the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps was more accurate than the Waze app, for navigation. Their home is a bit off the beaten path, but totally worth it. The views were gorgeous, and the quiet solitude was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the city. Instructions on check in were very clear, we found our room with no issue. There was one other airbnb couple in the house while we were there, along with Bob and Laura - and we all had plenty of space to feel comfortable and secure. Bob and Laura were fun to chat with, and offered helpful suggestions on transit into Manhattan. They left the light on for us, so we had no issue getting back into our room at 1 am, and they saw us off with breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend this airbnb, and I can easily say I'll be staying here again, for my next adventure into the area.

  • Laura and Bob's property was absolutely beautiful. Our room was comfortable and our private bathroom was clean. We used the location as a jumping off point for exploring northern Westchester and we were able to easily drive to visit several towns. The property was very quiet and we liked the privacy afforded by the location of our bedroom and bathroom within the house. Laura and Bob were friendly, but gave us the space we needed for a private weekend getaway.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here- large house with very high ceilings tucked into the woods. Living room is huge with lots of room with floor to ceiling windows. House has small patio area in the back and balcony in front- very scenic. John is extremely responsive - gave us great local recommendations for hiking, shopping, food etc and got back to us within minutes when we needed. We had a great time! Make sure to pack extra towels and maybe a cooler - you share the fridge with the owner and fridge space can be limited if you’re storing food for a huge family. We also brought some pots/pans which was useful. Use of washer/dryer was super convenient. Plenty of parking on site- we fit four SUV’s easy. Great host- great place

    Ashley2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We rented out John's place for a weekend and it was amazing. The house is beautiful with high ceilings and a lot of room! Before booking, John answered all my questions about the house. I told him we were looking for a place to hike and he had plenty of recommendations. He also told us about near by grocery stores as well. It was very easy to communicate with John as he replied really fast (usually within the hour). The home was clean and had many of the things we needed. I would recommend bringing your own towels and body wash however. The house manual was very straight forward and check out was simple as well. Overall we loved our stay here and would recommend!

  • Had a lovely time at the house! Planned to come up for one night, and booked the following night! It was so cozy!

  • Everything about our stay was splendid. The bathroom is gorgeous, the backyard is secluded and has a great view of the nature behind the house. The bedroom and tub were set up for us when we came in and the house was cleaner than almost any I've been in. Karen and Annette were very helpful in our stay and kept great communication with us! It was our first stay on Air BnB and they made everything feel very comfortable for us.

    Chris2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Annette are changing the Air B&B game. It's not just setup as a house to stay, they really go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect and are more accomidating than you could imagine. They were able to be flexible on check-in and check-out times. We took a train up from the city so they offered to pick us up at the train station and take us to the house for check-in. Upon arrival there was a goodie basket setup with fruit, cheese, crackers and wine (which we ended up taking with us on our hike- perfect). The house has everything. An outdoor back deck with fire pit and grill looking out over a lawn and into the woods. The full bathroom has a jacuzzi! Simply put Karen is a pro at making you feel at home. We'll definitely be back to visit the house, and our hosts!

  • Karen's is a perfect place to stay for family or friends union near Bear Mountain. It is quite pleasant to have a short vacation during the weekends for us. Karen is extremely helpful to introduce us all the facilities. We had a nice bbq weekend there in her backyard. Karen is so nice to prepare some wines and snacks for us even we only stay there for one day. Overall, I would strongly recommend her place, esp. you are planning a hiking. It's only 15min drive to Bear Mountain.

  • This is our second time staying at Lake Mohegan and once again Karen and Annette have made our time absolutely wonderful. They set up a beautiful cheese and fruit platter and prosecco to welcome us. The house felt like we never left and they also made some nice additions to make our stay even more convenient and enjoyable! Thank you!!!

  • Karen and Annette we're so attentive and accommodating! They answered my texts immediately and were such great hosts. • We spend one night with our two sons (ages 3,5 and 1,5) and had a great stay. The space is super practical for a short getaway and the animals (hens, goats, cats) were a big hit with kids. The cottage is just off the Taconic state parkway on a quiet street. It is also close to a cute little pizza place (Benvenuto). Highly recommend!

  • Raeford is a gentleman, a class act and his home is extremely quiet, comfortable, warming, pleasant and inviting. My experience with my two night stay was a fantastic and positive one all around, and Raeford is extremely respectful of his guests. I intend to book with Raeford again in the future. Highly recommended.

    Steve2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Raeford's location was convenient for us to be nearby our visiting grandchildren. He was very flexible in accommodating a change in our dates. However, the place overall needed a thorough and deep cleaning, in particular the kitchen, one of the listed amenities, which we found to be less than acceptable. For older people, the unlighted entryway and absence of a handrail on the stairs leading up to the guest floor, could be a hazard.

    Louise2017-11-24T00:00:00Z

  • A great little loft very clean and comfortable. Blair is very responsive. Blair left us a few muffins and cold drinks. We would highly recommend this condo for most people but not for folks with limited mobility due to the circular staircase to the bedroom. A+++

    Anthony2017-08-20T00:00:00Z

  • Everything is perfect in this apartment and make you have a great weekend!

    Victor2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Blair was quick to respond to our last second reservation and very kind. The apartment itself was very clean, but the scent of cigarette filled the room occasionally from the hallway. The bed was lovely, very large, and comfortable to lay on. Parking was very convenient and FREE. During my stay at Blair's the weather outside hovered below freezing. The thermostat on the wall was no help, it did not help increase the heat in the apartment. The only real source of warmth was a moveable space heater. My time spent in her apartment required me to wear layers to stay warm. Blair provided nice amenities; a few drinks in the fridge, some snacks/food in the cupboards, as well as nice toilet paper (which is always a quality of life improvement.) If you have ANY difficulty with your mobility/balance/climbing stairs, I would advise you to check out a different location as Blair's apartment has a tight spiral staircase that leads up to the loft/bed. The staircase is not the easiest to get up and down without ease. The bathroom is on the bottom floor so if you have to get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, it can be a task in itself. Getting the keys from Blair was very easy and convenient. The couch was not comfortable to sit on at all and the TV was quite a distance away from your position on the couch.

  • Mai’s place was really nice and perfect for my one night stay with my girlfriend. The decor was modern and very clean and updated. Parking was off street and her communication was spectacular. I’d recommend anyone in Mai’s area to give her place a shot over a typical motel.

  • The reception of Shahla was very pleasant, and Shahla was very helpful in recommending activities to do near Cold Spring. The house is located in a quite convenient distance to shopping facilities as the local restaurants. We were visiting from Denmark and we had a great weekend away in Cold Spring ((Putnam Valley). There are very nice facilities to do your own barbecue, which we did. All in all a great experience.

  • I booked a surprise birthday weekend for my boyfriend and brought along a group of friends. We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and is much more impressive in person than in the photos. Jamel is a wonderful attentive host, accommodating and helpful. The house is very spacious and is great for a large group,, the hot tub, fire pit , bbq & back deck made our stay even better!

    Carolanne2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jamel was incredibly responsive and was available throughout our short stay. We had a group of 12 and there was plenty of room for everyone. Everything was as described and the house was beautiful. Hoping to stay again as the house is close to some paintball courses that we would like to go to in the future. Highly recommend and thanks to Jamel again!

    Paul2015-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house and reviews looked very promising but our experience as a whole was a disaster. The weekend was predicted to be one of the coldest of the year, with temperatures in the single digits and negatives. We soon realized after arriving at the house that the heat was not working for the house. We informed Jamel around 5:30pm and did not hear back from him until 10:30pm but my phone was off. I did not hear from him again until noon on Saturday after repeated texts from me that neither the heat or hot water was working. Jamel promised he knew how to fix it but this did not happen. It was not until 11:00pm on Saturday that a serviceman arrived to fix the heat. He then informed me that there was no oil and the cold had frozen the pipes. He managed to restore heat to the basement but the rest of the house was 40 degrees farenheit. Our group probably spent around $100 on firewood just to keep the living room bearable and the bedrooms were just as cold. As a result our whole trip and experience was ruined due to the frigid temperatures and difficulty of reaching Jamel. I really was expecting and hoping for the best but this was without a doubt one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. Rather than enjoying the weekend I spent my entire time trying focusing on how to make the house warm and attempting to contact our host. Jamel failed to ensure the heat worked on an extremely cold weekend and me and the rest of our group suffered as a result.

    Isaac2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Generally Jamel has really great reviews, and I hope my experience with my friends was just an off weekend. My advice was for neither of us to leave a review, but on the last day to do so, he left one, so I'm honoring my end of the bargain and just going to be 100% honest in what could be one-off issues. The house was very tidy upon arrival, however, there was a bit of confusion over use of the Hot Tub. Prior to booking I checked with Jamel to ensure that the hot tub would be functioning since me and some friends wanted a retreat and to enjoy some relaxation away from the city. He assured us it was. On arrival, the power to the hot tub was not on, and it had an error code once powered on. Hottubs takes 24 hours to heat up, so it was a bit disappointing that despite asking, and the weather being perfect hot tub weather it wasn't on for us to have a chance at using it within the first 24 hours of check-in. The weekend became more of an in-door board game one after that. I contacted AirBnB and they issued a partial refund. There are some broken tiles in the kitchen you should be mindful of, but nearby mats allowed us to cover those to prevent accidentally cutting feet while walking. The water pressure in the hallway bathroom can randomly cause the shower to shut off. Other than those issues - which could again just be a one-off time - Jamel was an overall great host. We called him when we arrived and he walked us through the house to acquaint me with it. His TV was perfect for us watching SNL given the non-functioning hot tub. The fire place was a bonus since we were able to make smores.

    Shane2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was exactly as shown in the pictures. The house would have been great if there had been heat. The heat did not work the entire time we were there. I noticed it was cold the moment we walked in but Jamel said the heat was on a timer - which we found out later was a lie. He had a repairman come around 9pm because it was so cold and the repairman said the pipes were turned off and that Jamel had had them turned off because he thought the heater needed oil. So Jamel knew the heat wasn't working and he still rented the place to us and then lied about it. The repairman couldn't fix the heat so we didn't have any the rest of the night. The hot tub was also pretty gross. It was green and slimy in the morning but Jamel said he had chlorine in it and it was green because of the leaves. I've been in my share of outdoor hot tubs and I've never seen them turn green like that because of leaves. When we got in it at night the seats were slimy, too. It was pretty nasty. Also, I'm not sure 14 people would fit in there. The three bedrooms hold 7, 2 people on the pull out downstairs, 2 on a blow-up mattress he had, and 1 on the couch. If the heat had actually worked (and Jamel hadn't pretended it did even though he knew it didn't) and the hot tub was cleaned and you had 12 or less people, then it would've been a nice place. BUT, no heat and a dirty hot tub (which was a main draw of the place) are definitely a deal breaker. If you're going for the hot tub think twice, especially since other people have had problems with the hot tub, too.

    Angie2013-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jamel's house was absolutely fantastic. It was able to comfortably accommodate a group of almost 20 of us, was extremely spacious, and Jamel himself was very accommodating. The hot tub was unfortunately not working at the time that we stayed, but otherwise the house was outstanding and put group had a great weekend.

    Jonathan2014-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I rented Jamel's home for a weekend. There were 9 of us in total and there was more than enough space for everyone. Jamel was available for any questions I had before and during the trip. He walked us through the home upon arrival via phone. Only hiccup was the A/C was not working too great the first night, but he had someone come fix it right away the next day and it worked great. If given the opportunity to rent from Jamel again my family and I would definitely do so.

  • Beautiful spacious home perfect for our busy week at West Point graduation.

    Jeanne2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Terry's peaceful country retreat the third weekend in October. The leaves were in full splendor and the weather was perfect. Combined with this wonderful, stunning - yet cozy, home nestled in the wood, it made it a vacation we'll never forget. Check-in was a breeze, Terry was quick to reach out and make sure we were comfortable and let is know he was available if we had any questions. The house speaks for itself. As great as the photos are, it exceeded our expectations. Every room was a "wow" moment as we initially walked through the home. A great modern kitchen and grill led to group dinners and breakfasts at the dining room table. We enjoyed "together" time in the family room with TV, but all had areas we could retreat to for "alone" time as well. If I could give this property 6 stars, I would. Thank you Terry. I hope I'm fortunate enough to return in the future. Jim H.

  • Beautiful and magical wooded grounds. Ross, the on-sight caretaker (lives in separate house on property) was very responsive and nice. The home was lovely and well equipped and Terry (owner) was a pleasure to deal with. My only complaint was that the time went too quickly as we didn't want to leave!

    Bill2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Terry's home was a fantastic hub for our group, providing plenty of space and an abundance of amenities, in a clean, welcoming environment. Thanks for everything!

    Suzanne2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Terry's home is not only gorgeous but also very homey and comfortable! It provided the perfect setting for an annual fall trip my friends and I make from the city. The house is fully stocked with kitchen supplies, bedding and linens, and games to provide all you need for a relaxing weekend away! I can't recommend his home enough and we will definitely be coming back next fall!

    Colleen2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Terry's home feels very secluded, but is close to the train station and there are restaurants and stores in the nearby towns. We had eleven people staying at the house and we were very comfortable as it is a large place.

  • My grown kids stayed here as overflow accommodations for my wedding celebration at our home nearby in Garrison. I didn't see the space myself but my children said it was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. They apparently spilled some wine on the bath robes and the hosts have been handling that with us very nicely.

  • Marilyn's house was magical! I needed a place to stay for a long weekend of work -- the house was accessible to food and some beautiful hikes when I was able to get away from the computer! I used the jaccuzzi tub every night, and the bed was comfier than my own! I am actually looking to book at her place again next weekend for another weekend getaway, I loved it that much!

  • The Airbnb is one of the most amazing apartments I have lived at. Secluded but accessible. Extremely artsy and clean. The caretaker responds to our requests and questions promptly. She made cookies and prepared some simple breakfast materials in refrigerator in advance too, which I thought is a very nice touch. Would recommend and stay again!

    Tommy2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Marylyn's house studio is the perfect location to unplug and get creative. Surrounded by nature on all sides, the house has plenty of natural light coming in, as well as ample space inside. Lots of great suggestions were provided about the neighboring areas, including Beacon, which is just a quick drive away. Communication was great and the home care taker was also instrumental. Overall, a great get away. If you are looking for a unique experience accommodation get away, then this Airbnb is a must try.

    Ricardo2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Marilyn's studio. It's a beautiful studio located in a quiet, tranquil area, which is just what we were looking for. She and Diana, the groundskeeper, were very accommodating and made us feel welcomed from the moment we started communicating. I'd definitely book this place again.
