The area of Airey's Inlet-Fairhaven is a quieter destination than its neighbouring towns of Lorne (15km onward) and Anglesea (8km back) from Melbourne. Yet it is just 10min drive either side of these if you'd like to visit then retreat back to peaceful Fairhaven! The 6km of beautiful beach is fantastic all year round whether for walks or surfing and swimming. The Fairhaven Surf Life Saving clubhouse offers great evening meals and a bar at which you are most welcome. Apart from the beach with its obvious beauty and water sports, other activities/places of interest in this area include: local galleries, cafe's, bush and beach walking, horse riding and golf to name a few. There is a shopping strip with a pharmacy, small super market, cafes, ( excellent one is Airey's foodstore and deli) fabulous Airey's Inlet Hotel, (not your average Pub!), hardware and restaurants including A La Grecque and others. I do know of a place where you can see koalas in the wild! And, as is well known, The Anglesea golf course has kangaroos grazing especially at dusk!

  • Lovely place! The main living areas offer a lot of variety and places to hang out depending on the weather...balconies with tables (sit down on one side, bar top style table on the other) which gives you good options to catch or avoid the sun or hide from winds. There's also another large 8 seating table downstairs outside the table tennis room which is very sheltered from winds and in the shade of the trees. The side of the house with the bar top table is super secluded, the only neighbouring properties you can even see are across the valley. All up, wonderful spot! Ideally only suited to 2 x couples and kids though, or groups with single peoples as there are only 2 rooms with queen beds, all the other rooms and singles/bunks. Well appointed kitchen and loads of games to keep everyone amused.

  • Great location.

    Oliver2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time here with our family. A huge space and various zones for everyone to either have quiet time, or play ping pong. So many options to cook and eat, either indoor or outdoors. We will be back!

  • What a wonderful and relaxing place to stay for the long weekend. A short walk from beautiful Fairhaven beach. Less than two hours drive from the city but really feels like you are escaping the hustle and bustle. Jacinta was great with communication and tips about how to make best use of the house. Definitely recommend this staying at this place!

  • Wonderful house to enjoy a quiet weekend. Wildlife, beach, cafes all at your doorstep

    Donald2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Fairhaven for 10 days! Jacinta was a fantastic host. We received clear and concise communication before arriving and a thoughtful message during the stay to check everything was going well. She provided very generous check in and departure times and the key lock made it all very easy. The property is exactly as it looks and reads - big bedrooms with a second downstairs area with more beds and another bathroom if needed. The family area has a beautiful lookout over Fairhaven and it’s only a 6-8min walk down to the beach. We were happy that the street has an underpass to access the beach so no need to run across the road. We would head to Onda’s for morning coffees and enjoyed dinners in Aireys being only 5mins drive away. Having enough parking for 3 cars was handy. The house was very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again one day :)

Our place is set on a large block. It is close to Shops, beach, cafes and restaurants. It has ambiance and is peaceful. There are many birds and we often have kangaroos, and are awakened in the morning by our beautiful kookaburras. The house is set in the treetops and has a lovely bush outlook with a large deck. There is a lovely rustic feel. NOTE: Bring own linen policy. Hire-$25 per bed. CHRISTMAS AND JAN HOLIDAYS- ONLY ONE WEEK+ STAYS over this period. MORE INFO BELOW.
Our place is set amongst the gum trees on a 1 and a half acre block and is very peaceful. A great place just to get away from everything. It is also central to town and is an easy walking distance-10 mins walk to main shops ect. The house is partly timber outside and mainly timber inside and has a lovely country feel to it. It is well lit with large windows from which gives you a beautiful outlook over the Bush. The night sky is amazing with many stars at night which makes the deck very inviting. We feel very blessed to be able to live here, and love to share it with others. The deck is large and is well used by our guests. It is north facing so you get full sun. There is an umbrella up on deck. It is up off the second story and has a doggy gate leading to external stairs. NOTE:: OTHER THINGS TO NOTE (UNDER EXTRA DETAILS) LINEN NOT SUPPLIED: Bring your own linen please. If hiring Fee is $$25 per bed. XMAS- DEC and JAN ONE WEEK PLUS STAYS ONLY.
Everything! We have lovely neighbours which is great. We just ask our guests to respect this. We live in a great little community here. We are very family oriented so we like to keep the peace for every one. Noise really travels here at nt. We do ask you if you think you would be loud, to move indoors at midnight. We do have neighbours opposite our house. And definitely NO PARTIES. We know your on a holiday and like to enjoy yourselves, but just be conscious of the noise for everyone’s sake.
  • A really nice house that comfortably fitted our large group. Room for everyone to not only sleep comfortably but to relax around the house. Aireys is a great village. Good facilities but not the crowds of the larger towns. One of the few to still have a relaxed beach vibe.

    Lee2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • great space with everything you need and really well-equipped kitchen

    Mike2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place for a weekend away with friends! Also, Cathy and David have a great vibe.

    Laurence2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy’s beautiful treetop house has literally become our home away from home. We’ve stayed here many times now, with friends, staff and family and will keep coming back for as long as they’ll have us. The location, amenities, convenience, hospitality, cleanliness and all round cool vibe is what we all look forward to every time. I’m loath to spread the word as we don’t want our favorite place to become hard to get, but Cathy and John are just the most lovely, genuine people, we have to let you all know about Airey’s best kept secret.

    Karen2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly and welcoming host. Beautiful house close to the coast in the midst of an eucalyptus forrest. Thanks for a wonderful time!

    Stephan2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful house . Masses of space and the extra area downstairs ,despite being an extra charge was well worth it

    Tricia2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very large property ideal for a large family. Very quiet, in the bush off the main road. Just right for a family gathering and holiday. Dog friendly too! Just watch out you bring your own bed linen and towels.

This freestanding cabin has a pitched roof, split-level accommodation, picture windows, and a generous balcony. It will suit an individual, couple, or small family (children under 16 free) for weekend stay or a short holiday. It is within pleasant walking distance of spectacular cliffs (10 mins) and beaches (15 mins). It is well shielded from the main family residence. Pets welcome.
The cabin consists of a living and a sleeping area (on different levels, but not divided by a wall) along with kitchen (oven included) and bathroom. A small flight of stairs separates the two levels. There are only a few steps, but guests with small children will need to take care. There are no safety barriers at the top or bottom. There is a sofa bed in the living area and a comfortable queen-sized bed in the sleeping area. The sofa bed is what it is - a child will sleep better in it than an adult. The QS bed has a firm pocket-top Sleepmaker Microcoil mattress. The living area opens onto a generous deck with outdoor furniture. The cabin has reverse cycle airconditioning and a washing machine. It does not have a dishwasher, a clothes dryer, or wifi.
This is a place of great natural beauty, with beaches and bush and abundant wildlife. You can sometmes walk for miles along the beach without seeing another soul. Small shops and cafes make life comfortable but overall there is little commercial development. It is a wonderful place to have a holiday, or to live. In the summer, residents have to be alert to the danger of fires. The Country Fire Authority has specific advice on Aireys Inlet. See (URL HIDDEN)
  • Lovely people and a really great dog friendly stay. Highly recommended

  • Great cabin with all amenities you would need and excellent location.

    Kenneth2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Antonia's place was just as described and very comfortable. It was a pleasure to come into such a clean environment - we immediately relaxed and enjoyed our stay very much. We have spent a lot of time in the area over the years and this place struck us as one of the most convenient that we have stayed in as it is easy walking distance from both the top and bottom shops and restaurants - and even closer to the pub which has good quality food and a nice atmosphere. It's also just a short distance to the scenic walks along the beach and cliff top.

  • Compact but clean and tidy with everything we needed for a comfortable 2 night stay. Will happily stay again.

    Linda2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend away at the cabin by the sea. Even though the cabin is next to the main house it feels very private and has a lovely deck to enjoy breakfast with the cockatoos. The cabin is simply furnished and in a perfect location - within walking distance of the brewery/pub and the beach. We loved the clifftop walk to Summymeade beach. Thanks!

' Surfside ' is our delightful beach house which is a 2 minute walk to the beach. The house has 3 large decks with sea views & provides for excellent outdoor entertaining. The house has a fresh and trendy retro feel about it.
Surfside is our delightful beach house which is just a 2 minute walk to the Moggs Creek beach and along the world famous Great Ocean Road. Grab your surfboard and walk to the quality and consistent surf break ‘The Spot'. Wake up of a morning and check the waves from the front deck. Walking to the historic Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch will only take you about 20 minutes along the beach. Plus there are many beautiful walking tracks straight from our house. One of which is a 10 minute stroll up to the Moggs Creek look-out for some amazing views. Our wonderful house is as described (and renovated in 2013/14), so please take your time to read all below carefully. Thank you! We offer beds for 8 adults and one toddler or baby. You will need to bring your own linen. Strict party/noise policy applies. Featuring three large decks; The upper front deck is huge and offers ocean views with glass balustrade. The rear deck is super cosy with built in wooden benches - super private & peaceful you feel like you are one with the bush with the birds coming to say hello. For the budding BBQ Chef (like my husband!) there's a Webber BBQ which makes for an absolute pleasure to entertain adults and little ones. Plenty of wildlife too with the occasional kangaroos, echidnas, possums, kookaburras, cockatoos and more passing through! The rear deck has a hot/cold outdoor shower for when you come back from the beach. Inside has got a clean trendy feel about it. There are two bedrooms upstairs with a queen bed in one bedroom and two comfy single beds in the other bedroom. Upstairs is also the open plan living/dining area with a new wood fire place. A child proof fence is available to avoid little fingers getting scorched in winter time. Fire (limited) wood is supplied. The kitchen has a dishwasher and offers updated appliances. Weather permitting you will enjoy the outdoor setting with plenty of matching kitchenware available. Great for families or ladies weekends. We also have some beautiful plastic tableware (cups, bowls, plates) for kids and clumsy adults. We are not the typical rental where you are left with two wineglasses and three teabags for your entire stay. Upstairs is the bathroom which is recently renovated (November 2019). Its spacious and clean. Babies and toddlers can be bathed in the shower cubicle. It also has a washing machine. At Moggs Creek, we do rely on rainwater, so please be water conscious. Two minute showers and there is no need to flush the toilet every time:-). It does really help us and is much appreciated! All of Moggs Creek is on tank water. Our water is filtered and drinkable. Downstairs is another large deck overlooking the bush garden & driveway. This is where we have the fantastic large room. This room is great for a kids & teenagers retreat! This used to be the original rumpus room, but is completely renovated with new wooden floors and blinds. It has a queen bed and a new set of bunks and lots of room for play. PLEASE NOTE; access to this room is through outside only and does not have any toilet facilities. Our house is on a good block of bush and is a very short walk to the beach. Moggs Creek is a quiet little place on the famous Great Ocean Road. There are no facilities but nature here, but that’s what we love about it. The closest coffee shop, pub and general store is in Aireys Inlet, about a three minute drive. The pub is great to hang out for a bit, even with little ones! Or you can head to Lorne (15 min drive) which is a great place to visit too. From our house you can walk to the beach, go hiking, mountain biking or 4WDriving. But there is plenty to discover in the area too! A scenic drive along the Great Ocean Road is a must and a visit to Lorne, Apollo Bay and 12 Apostles whilst you're here! Maps and lots of information of the area and further personal suggestions of what to do in the area is available in a guest folder in our house. Or just give us a call. We are keen to help.
  • Three of us stayed at the beach house for two nights, it was very comfortable and we spent a lot of time relaxing on the balcony. Amazing location, the beach was a 5 minute walk and places to eat were a short drive away. We made use of the BBQ, log burning fire and boardgames/DVDs to make our stay even more enjoyable.

    Niall2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A cute little place with lovely surrounds and beautiful beach/nature sounds. Sacha and John were excellent to deal with and the place was comfy, tidy and great value. Exactly what we were looking for.

  • We had a great time staying at John & Sacha's lovely pad in Moggs Creek. Everything was exactly as described, including the lovely bushland setting and views from the large deck. Kids had a lovely time exploring the grounds and the cubby house, and with such a short walk to the beach everyone was happy. Moggs is our favourite place to stay along the coast so we hope to be back!

covid19Overlooking the Great Ocean Rd with fabulous surf views, this stylish beach house is a short walk to the beach. Perfect for 2 families or small groups. Single level with open-plan dining/kitchen, separate living/entertaining, 4 bedrooms and parking. Moggs beach house is a recently renovated beach house with plenty of character, space and fabulous views of the beach at Moggs Creek. It is a perfect location to relax, catch-up with friends & family and enjoy the best nature has to offer on the nearby beaches and in the bush of the National Park. The house accommodates up to 11 people comfortably in 4 bedrooms. It has 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen/dining area, two roomy living/entertainment areas and a large deck with BBQ. It is a 3-minute walk to the beautiful beach at Moggs Creek, which stretches for 6km from Fairhaven to Eastern View and is great year-round for surfing, fishing and walking. Dolphins sometimes swim close to the shore and in winter, whales can be seen from the deck as they migrate along the coast. The neighbouring Great Otway National Park is great for bushwalking and mountain bike riding. There is abundant wildlife in the area with kangaroos, king parrots, cockatoos, kookaburras and other native birds visiting often. It is a ten-minute walk up to the Look-Out up along the Moggs Creek Track. The lookout has 180-degree views from the Airey's Lighthouse to Lorne and is well worth the effort. Moggs Creek is a much quieter coastal haven than the neighbouring towns of Lorne, Aireys Inlet and Anglesea. It retains the relaxed feeling of the old west coast from 30 years ago, but is just a 15 minute drive to Lorne or Anglesea if you need to stock up on anything. The new Fairhaven Surf Life Saving clubhouse is a 5-minute drive down the Great Ocean Rd and offers great evening meals over summer and a friendly atmosphere. Other activities and places of interest in the local area include: galleries, cafes, the Split Point lighthouse at Aireys Inlet, horse riding and golf to name a few. Further afield and about a 2-hour drive are the 12 Apostles and Otway Fly Treetop Adventures which are well worth a visit. All facilities at the beach house are available for guests to use. The kitchen has an oven, grill, electric induction cooktop, microwave, fridge (plus second fridge in the laundry), kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, sandwich maker, toaster and dishwasher. WiFi access is also available. In the entertainment area there is a leather modular sofa, flat screen TV and DVD player. In the lounge area there are two large leather sofas with a large coffee table. The deck has a large Jarrah outdoor setting that seats 8 people comfortably. The BBQ is is a Weber family Q which is perfect for cooking for a family or group. There are 4 bedrooms (2 with Queen size beds, 1 with single bunk and double on bottom and 1 with 4 single bunks) which open onto outside verandahs or the deck. Spare chairs are also on the deck under a grey cover. •A Flat screen TV and DVD player are located in the lounge area. •Water jugs. There are two water jugs with filters on the kitchen bench. The property is on tank water so it is recommended to fill and use the water filter jugs for drinking water. Please be water-wise. •Light switches special note. There are 2 switches on the wall near the back door – one switch is for the driveway spotlight (keep this in the middle or up position) and the other is for the back verandah. •Insect repellent. In the evening use insect repellent (some located in the pantry or BYO) as mozzies can be annoying. •Bins in the driveway. Small green bin is for rubbish, large bin with yellow lid is for recyclables. •Note: Rubbish Collection day is early Tuesday morning, so please put the rubbish and recycling out on Monday night. Place bins on opposite side of road for collection. Always put out small green rubbish bin.
Moggs beach house is located in Moggs Creek a small beach haven located on the Great Ocean Road between Airey Inlet and Lorne. Out front there are kilometres of sandy beaches with great surf and fishing. Surrounding Moggs Creek is a National Park that brings the Australian bush right to your door. Native animals including kangaroos, echidnas and a great variety of native birds including King Parrots visit often and provide a great thrill for visitors. There are great walking trails along the beach and in the National Park. The mountain biking is great too with plenty of challenging routes in an around Moggs Creek featuring fabulous views and scenery. Because Moggs Creek is a very small residential area set in the bush on the coast, it is quiet and generates a feeling seclusion and tranquility. At night you can hear the sound of the breaking surf echo up the valley. What a great way to go to sleep!
  • Beautiful neat home with spectacular views. We had a group of 11 adults and three kids and there was plenty of room for all of us, sitting on the back deck listening to the waves and watching all the wildlife in the area was definitely a highlight. 10/10 would stay again. Theo was very prompt with responses and answered any questions we had. Couldn’t have been better.

  • What a beautiful beach house! This was perfect for a weekend away with the girls as there was plenty of space for everyone to hang out and play games. Also a convenient short walk to the beach where you may end up swimming with seals! Additionally the house was very clean and the host was very friendly and welcoming!

    Natalie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place with clear views of the ocean. You can hear the waves from the house (but it is not too loud at all). There is abundant wildlife and a tranquil atmosphere. My daughter, niece and nephew really enjoyed feeding the parrots, who were very friendly. In the evening we had six kangaroos come and visit the garden. The house is close to the beach (about a five minute walk) and a short drive away from Airley Inlet's general store / small supermarket. Theo's communication was excellent: responsive and attentive. Instructions as to how to gain entry was very clear. When we arrived there were chocolates and a bottle of wine --- very lovely! Thanks Theo - we had a great weekend and it is a really delightful place to escape to!

    Jenny2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Third time staying here and it just gets better! This time we saw kangaroos twice at sunset in the backyard and my children loved feeding the incredibly tame local birds! The paved outdoor area was also a very helpful space where we could easily keep an eye on the kids happily playing! Thanks once again Theo!

    Maja2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a party of 8 adults staying and the house accommodated all of us easily. Plenty of living space, very clean and conveniently located to Airey’s Inlet and Lorne. Theo kept in contact leading up to our stay and answered any questions we had whilst there quickly. Loved the cockatoos and king parrots that visited.

    Chris2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house and location.

    Lauren2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Theo’s place was exactly like how it was described, very clean, convenient to the beach. Theo responded to massages very quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hope to stay at Theo’s place again sometime soon... Thank you Theo!

  • Always a pleasure to stay at Mogg’s Creek, with both the beach and the bush within walking distance, and the shops at Airey’s and Anglesea only a short drive away. House had everything we needed, although it is recommended to bring your own drinking water since the house uses tank water. WiFi worked beautifully, and I was able to get some much-needed peace and quiet while I worked on some schoolwork. Would stay here again.

Really comfy beds! Just dont forget to take small things like sugar, oil, salt pepper other than that we would definitely recommend. Thanks so much for the hospitality Dino.

  • Maureen was a fantastic host. The chocolates at check-in, the herb garden and the essentials in the fridge snd pantry (flour, spreads rice, tea etc.) were a massive help! The beach is a very easily walk from the house and the house is a very good layout out for big families or groups of couples looking for a get away I cant fault this host, our group would happily stay again and probably will! Thanks Maureen! Thomas

  • Went to Moggs Creek with my adult children and we were all delighted to be there. We didn't have to travel anywhere to spot the wildlife - it all came to visit us. Was very active weather and the house was a great viewing platform to watch the squalls pass over. Very comfortable and charming place to stay

    Rosalind2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen and Mario, thank you so much for letting us share your beautiful holiday home. All of us enjoyed the the house and all it offered, especially the espresso machine and coffee, a personal favourite of mine. The house was perfectly placed for us to wander down the surf beach, everything we needed was supplied and my only regret was when we got back home, I realised that we forgot to empty the fridge of some items that we brought up. Hopefully you and Mario put those items to good use :-) We look forward to coming back again, unfortunately our 2 extra guests (the dogs) didn't make it this trip but maybe on the next one. Thanks again, John

    Colleen2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bhakti is an excellent host who goes above and beyond for her guests. For example, in the afternoon I was meant to arrive it was over 41c in Lorne. We both were concerned about the weather and kept in communication throughout the day as to when the best time to for me to arrive. Fair to say when overall I had a very relaxing and peaceful New Years. :)

  • Bhakti’s place was wonderful. It’s in a beautiful location about 7 mins drive from Lorne. The space is quirky and unique but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed being visited by the local bird life and being surrounded by nature. Bhakti was lovely and very accommodating and left thoughtful touches (chocolate brownies) for us to enjoy, as well as offering eggs freshly laid by the resident free-range chickens. The cottage is a great stay and excellent value. Thanks for having us!

This beautiful house is tucked in the bush just ten minutes walk to Fairhaven beach. High ceilings and open plan living create a bright relaxed atmosphere for your next holiday. You'll love the well equipped kitchen, large dinning table, comfortable beds and cosy couches by the fire. Look out across the valley and watch the sunrise over the ocean, find a spot on the lawn to read a book or meet a king parrot in the garden.
Everyone who walks in smiles and says 'this is a great space'. The big open living room with zones for different activities is welcoming and comfortable. The wide decking adds an extra space from which to enjoy the view. Three bedrooms inside with two queen beds and one with a double with single bunk.
Fairhaven is my favorite place in the world. The life saving club is just down the road with its awesome sense of community. The beach is stunning combining surf, cliffs, rock pools and lots of flat white sand to walk along. Cafes are great in Aireys. Or take a drive to Lorne to do some shopping. If the weather's not great the bush beacons. You can do a long day hike or short nature walk in the Angehok forest. If you like wild flowers come in the Spring and you'll discover rare orchids in the garden!
  • We adored this house! It is light spacious clean relaxing, with delightful decor and a distant view of the sparkling ocean. We loved the fireplace, the lounge area, the stunning new bathrooms and kitchen, and relaxing on the deck. We enjoyed the walk down to the beach (10-15 mins) too!

  • We had a fantastic stay at Joan's place and were so impressed as soon as we walked in. The house is spacious, stylish, extremely comfortable and homely with everything you need, and is even better than in the photos. We had a beautiful breakfast out in the sun on the balcony decking, and the comfy couch was the perfect place to relax at the end of the day. Joan was very quick to respond and always helpful. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Located right on the river, your cottage is a short stroll along the river to the beach, lighthouse, cafes and restaurants. You’ll love sitting on the deck with the river view or the private courtyard to enjoy the birdlife. Purposely built for a couple, (sorry no children or infants) however I do welcome guests from all walks of life, solo adventurers and business travellers. The kitchen is well equipped, large lounge/dining and spa bath to relax. Great for holidays/weekends or overnight.
The lounge/kitchen or outdoor deck is a perfect spot to relax, watch a movie or enjoy the beautiful view of the river and hills beyond. Many people walk along the river or fish just opposite, such a popular spot, the envy of anyone not staying.
Water views without the crowds but you will love to see others enjoying the river.
  • A lovely cottage with the best river views, highly recommended.

  • Andrew is an accommodating and welcoming host. Nothing is too much trouble and he goes out of his way to help you with local knowledge and things to do. The room is clean and modern with excellent facilities. The rooms are small but more than adequate for a couple. Can't rate Andrew's kindness and advice highly enough. He's a gem.

  • I would highly recommend Jane’s home. It has great touches throughout, with interesting art and trinkets. There was plenty of games to play or books and magazines to read. We found the kitchen to be very well equipped, especially if you like to cook. We all felt it was probably the best Airbnb we have stayed in for 2 families. Thank you, we would love to stay again.

    Joanne2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place is absolutely fantastic, probably one of the best Airbnbs I've ever stayed in! The house itself is beautiful, location is brilliant, the artwork is amazing and it has all the amenities you could need! Jane was a fabulous host and very accommodating. I will definitely be back to this house! Thanks again, Jane!

    Nei2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The most wonderful place to stay. Janes place is filled with the most interesting, exciting and colourful art. Every place you turn it thoughtfully filled with something interesting and exotic; Jane's travels are evident throughout the whole house. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with more than you could ever need and there was more than ample space for a large group. This house and garden has been finished and looked after with love and you can't help like you are staying somewhere special.

    Annabel2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet spot and lovely space. Well stocked kitchen and an easy enjoyable walk to the beach.

    Ash2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jane’s house is stunning. So comfortable and stylish with beautiful artistic touches everywhere you look. The garden is also beautiful with a fire pit and goldfish to boot. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would Iove to stay again.

  • I work in advertising so I’m always apprehensive of any listing. But Jayne’s place is just as it says on the tin. Book with confidence.

    Fraser2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Once again we had a really splendid time at Jane's stylish house. We all enjoyed lazing on the sizable deck, watching the birds and looking out through the bush land. We didn't really want for anything other than to stay put, but the beach was a bonus. Thanks again Jane.

  • Jane's house in Fairhaven is a stylish space to relax and unwind. She is a good communicator which helped our check in and out be as easy as possible. Would recommend for anyone looking to escape Melbourne and feel at home in a new space.

Our unique home is a heritage listed Lightkeepers Cottage circa 1890. Perched high above the Great Ocean Road we are surrounded by the Eaglerock Marine Sanctuary, stunning beaches and the Otway National Park. Spend your time meandering on long sandy beaches or rockpool rambles, clifftop walks, forest trails, twitching, swimming in the river, climbing the Lighthouse or eating out in local restaurants and cafes. "Throw your car keys on the floor as you won't be needing them anymore"
Our two attached cottages were built in 1890 to house the Assistant Lightkeepers of the Split Point Lighthouse, Aireys Inlet. The White Queen is still a working lighthouse guiding ships through the dangerous waters of the Great Sourthern Ocean. The Aireys Inlet cottages are one of only a few privately owned Lighthouse Keepers cottages in Australia. Now heritage listed, they have been lovingly restored to retain the original features and character of these beautiful and historic buildings. Cottage No.3 is self contained with two light filled cosy bedrooms, bathroom, small kitchenette and living room with an open fire. Surrounded by expansive verandas and a north facing courtyard. We provide Nespresso coffee and tea making facilities, bar fridge, microwave, toaster but no cooking facilities, however the Tea Rooms located in the old horse stables right next door serves breakfast, lunch and delicious scones ( which are perfect to bring back to have in the garden or beside our cosy open fire on a cold winters day ).Ideal for a couples getaway. Nestled under the Lighthouse in spacious gardens on the doorstep of the famous Clifftop walk and beautiful pristine beaches nestled between rocky clifftops make it a stunning location in summer or winter. Aireys Inlet is a small coastal community, where four generations of our family currently live.
A beautiful small coastal town, perfect in summer or winter, situated on The Great Ocean Road. Perfect for nature lovers while at the same everything you could want is just a stroll away, fishing, twitching ( abundant birdlife ), meandering walks ( we are situated on the famous Surfcoast Walk ), horseriding on the beach or bush, winter whale watching, swimming and restaurants and cafes. Lighthouse tours are available most days on the hour, hours dependent on season. General Store/ Post Office
  • Such a beautiful, historic cottage spectacularly located and tastefully decorated throughout. Loved the surprise kitchen, the epic shower and the welcome treats. Can’t recommend this place enough! Thanks Sarah and Tim! Davy & Sarah

  • Just beautiful - the host, the residence, the location.

    Marie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place was amazing! She made us feel very welcome. Everything was clean & nicely styled. Beautiful touches in each space. Lovely cafe right next door open for breakfast & lunch. Plenty of other dining & drinking option within a walking distance or couple minutes drive. Elsie, their gorgeous dog, was very friendly & never barks. Thank you for having us!

    Sylv2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Simply perfect. Gorgeously decorated slice of heaven in the ideal location.

    Sam2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • BEST Accom in Airey’s Inlet! Sarah and Tim are fabulous hosts and the cottage is nothing less than incredible. The styling is next level for an Airbnb - think Aesop Post Poo Drops in the loo, Marrimekko hand towels and glorious blooms from the garden. Beyond this, you’re in a historic cottage a lighthouse keeper would have lived in many moons ago. Next door is a lovely little cafe with delicious scones and coffee too. Cannot thank Sarah and Tim enough, we stayed for a romantic getaway and with their help had a gorgeous real fireplace for a cosy night in. Will be recommending the cottage to everyone we know! If you’re staying in winter it might get very cold in the area/house (it’s 100+ years old after all!) but there are plenty of blankets and heaters to stay warm. Thanks Sarah. Xx

  • This cottage is an absolute delight! The place itself is beautifully decorated, clean and true to description. Location is five stars with the most amazing access to gorgeous ocean views, beaches, walks and a great base to explore the great ocean road! Sarah was friendly and thoughtful and provided much more than expected with local treats and wine on arrival. The whole place is very calming and intimate and the rain shower provided 10/10 relaxation. Thank you Sarah for a great stay. We will be back!

    Nikki2019-10-26T00:00:00Z

  • We were after a quiet and relaxing spot by the coast and were extremely happy with the lighthouse keepers cottage. Tastefully decorated, very comfortable with beautiful gardens to enjoy and a wonderful spot to begin coastal walks. FAIRHAVEN is the perfect place to base yourself for access to the 12 Apostles, Otway forest waterfalls and the Otway Fly, Apollo Bay and Wye River and the gourmet food trail. Fairhaven is centrally located- 25minutes from Torquay and 15 minutes from Lorne and Anglesea. All towns offer extensive shopping and dining options. There is a general store at Aireys Inlet (2 kilometres) that has a good supply of groceries and beers/wines. The Aireys pub serves excellent meals and sells takeaway beer/wines too. A La Grecque is a superb restaurant, One hat in Good Food Guide. Little Feast is also excellent. Onda and MrT do the best coffee on the coast, the Lighthouse Stables Cafe is an amazing location. Truffle's, The Captain and Aireys Fish n Chips round out a great offering of local options. Our favourite weekend coffee is a bike ride to Lorne and the idyllic Swing Bridge Cafe right on the sand. Movida (Spanish tapas) and Ipsos (Greek) are the two top spots for quality food. Maple Tree and Marks restaurant also highly recommended. In Anglesea the standout is the new Captain Moonlite restaurant at the Surf Club, with great views over the beach, and the Golf Club is also a good secret, along with the large population of kangaroos. They do Roo Tours during the day.

    Taryn2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay. Despite the gloomy weather over a long weekend we had a great time at Kawana primarily due to the amazing views and thoughtful touches (like a ready to light fire, beach towels, nightlights) throughout the house. Well equipped, well maintained and excellent value.

    Anthony & Shalini2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience we had, this is the most beautiful humble home in what is such a stunning location. From the moment we arrived, late, in the dark, with rain, we had warmth and lighting to greet us. As well as flowers for a birthday girl (which had been noted from hardly a mention in our communication) wine and chocolates. Then to wake up the next morning and have those views was exhilarating. There was nothing we could fault in this stay. Except for the fact that we had to leave. Everything in the house worked really well, the cleanliness is a credit and so many minor details that had been catered for, made it one of our most enjoyable stays in any accommodation. Thanks Margaret on providing this little gem, you do the surf coast proud. We felt privileged to be able to stay here!

  • I contacted Melissa last minute and she was more than helpful. She met me on arrival, gave me heaps of local tips. She didn’t have anyone arriving the next day and let me stay back all day. Couldn’t recommend it more. Small back yard, but the location is so great, we were down by the river the whole time. The river is literally across the street! With rope swings. Very cool. 5 minutes from the beach too. Place was squeaky clean and welcoming. 6 stars

  • Another wonderful return visit to Kev’s beach shack. Always very neat and clean and what a wonderful new addition the deck makes to the ambience of the shack. Kev is always a pleasure to deal with. A lovely place to get away from it all and relax and unwind.

  • Amazing, rustic and well located beach house. Great location and not as busy as the likes of Lorne. Very good communication with the host and easy check in. Highly recommended!

    Marcus2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great beach shack. If you are down the great ocean rd and want an outstanding view at a reasonable place, go here. The house is set up with all that you need. It is basic, but the beds are comfy, the shower is good, there is a dishwasher and knives that work - what else do you need? It's only 5 minutes to the beach and we walked with our boys to the pub (FLSC) at fairhaven along the beach which only took 25 mins. There is a new deck out the back which is superb on a good weather day!

    Gabrielle2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin’s place was the perfect getaway for our family and friends. Kevin was quick to respond with any queries. The place was clean, close to great beaches and plenty to do. Great view from the spacious deck equipped with bbq.The trampoline was great and the kids used it a lot. This is a relaxed beach shack feel. We will be coming back. Thanks Kev.

    Vanessa2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic quiet location and a perfect house for families. The kids loved the outdoor play area and spent a lot of time out there. Would definitely return!

    Simone2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great winter weekend away with the family at the shack. Has everything you’d hope for in a relaxed beach holiday house. We loved the view of the ocean, the bbq and the well equipped kitchen. The kids loved running around outside, the games and jumping on the trampoline. Very secluded but lots of great things to do nearby too. Highly recommended!

    Amber2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Always love staying at Kev’s beach shack for the weekend. Was the perfect cosy space by the fire for a rainy couple of days. We’ll be back!

This house feels a lot more than an hour and a half from Melbourne. Once you've disappeared down its drive, you're invisible to even the quiet cul-de-sac road on which the house sits. A bank of native bushland, filled with honeyeaters, superb blue wrens and kookaburras shields your back, while at your front - are views to the ocean. Nestled on an acre of bushland which we have painstakingly planted out, is the wonderfully serene 'Bullaroy'.
The house is divided into two halves, connected by internal stairs. The upper half is living, dining, kitchen with a huge balcony. The lower level looks out on to more garden and houses the bedrooms, bathroom and laundry
Aireys Inlet is a gem on the Great Ocean Road. It isn't too busy and yet has everything you'll need - great pub, fine dining, general store... even a fabulous bookshop.
  • Very relaxing and secluded home in bush surrounds, with a view through the trees to the ocean. When the surf was up we could hear the waves crashing on the rocks a short walk away. A very light filled, open, clean and also practical place to stay with kids and a dog. I could have sat on the deck reading for hours, watching the king parrots and cockatoo do their rounds of the various houses! We walked along the beach to the lighthouse, chatting to locals with their dogs, then wonderful scones at the lighthouse cafe, followed by lying on the deck reading while the kids played with the box of lego provided. Magic! We'll be back.

    Kate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Bullaroy is a dream coastal getaway in the bush streets of Aireys Inlet. Super cool house with beautiful view.

    Quentin2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a very relaxing time at Bullaroy Beach House. Exactly what we needed!

    Paul2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Bullaroy is about as close to perfect as a holiday house gets. it’s our favorite getaway place and we can’t wait to go back again.

    Gavin2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time here and it was hard to leave this special place. The house itself acts just like a beach house should - aesthetically appealing, practical and unfussy with a big back deck and plenty of windows facing the sea. The bushy block is surprisingly secluded considering the location - we’d forgotten how good (and rare) not seeing neighbours is! We swam, went rock pooling, walked in the national park, ate daily ice creams, drove to Lorne - all are close by.

    Jacinta2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tosca’s place is quiet and secluded with views to the ocean and surrounded by native bush. Shops, pub and beach are a short walk away. We had a very relaxing stay here and would happily book again.

    Michael2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We are multiple return visitors to this oasis of calm. An incredible, peaceful home with space for all in the bush, yet so close to the sea. The outdoor warm shower is so good.

    Madeleine2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a beautiful week at Tosca's beach house. The views to the ocean were stunning and we loved the native garden which attracted prolific birdlife. The split level design of the house was very practical with bedrooms sited on the lower floor allowing for a cool and quiet sleep. We enjoyed the walkability of the home with ready access to several beaches and the local shops. Highly recommend.

  • Lucy's place is a delightful, peaceful spot in Fairhaven. Lorne and Airey's Inlet are just a few kms in either direction - however why would you want to leave one of the most magnificent views in Australia? It was mesmerising to just gaze out to sea and observe the many moods of the ocean. The house is tastefully furnished with everything you need - inside and out - the kitchen is very well equipped, and the beds very comfortable. The Fairhaven beach is a short walk away - closer than the elevated position would suggest. We loved it!

  • Absolutely perfect!!! We had such a wonderful stay!! It was a family trip with ages ranging from 3 to 93 and the house suited everyone!!! The location is amazing!! The ocean views mean that you feel like you're at the beach the whole time!! The very short walk to the patrolled beach made it so easy to take the kids! The house was beautifully clean and cosy and the spacious living area was ideal for our large group. We all absolutely loved our holiday and can't wait to come back! We will most certainly recommend this property to others. Whitney and Carl.

  • We loved staying at Lucy’s house. The location was superb. The house had everything you needed to make your stay comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds super comfortable. The deck overlooking the ocean was stunning with a short walk to the beach. Lucy was great to deal with. Our only complaint was the trip wasn’t long enough! Highly recommend it!

  • Our time at Lucy's was perfect. Beautiful home, stylishly decorated with incredible views! Just a five-minute walk to the beach and close drive to the local shops and cafes. We didn't meet Lucy personally but she was very quick to respond to any of our questions. Highly recommended!

  • If you’re looking for a roomy and comfortable place to stay during your great ocean road tour or beach trip, Johannas place is the RIGHT place. Big ol King sized bed, fully decked out kitchen with welcome wine, and tv complete with all the streaming apps was fantastic for every night after a big day of exploring. Johannas place is 2-3 minutes drive from the best local fish and chips and pizza, and entry to a gorgeous beach is just at the end of her street. Johanna was genuine, honest and flexible during the booking process and a respectful host. Cannot recommend more!

Your Studio is stylish with a touch of class and simplicity - much more than a motel suite at a great rate. A fantastic modern s/c retreat for 2 right on the river with views. Purposely built for a couple, (sorry no children or infants) however I do welcome guests from all walks of life. A short walk to the beach/lighthouse along the river. Cafes, restaurants and the Pub, just around the corner. The perfect location for a relaxing beach holiday/weekend or a start to the Great Ocean Road.
The studio's queen bed and self contained facilities and location are perfect for a couple. You can walk to the beach, cafe's shops or sit back on the deck and enjoy the view. (2 night min over a weekend unless last minute. Long weekends are 3 nights and Easter, Melb Cup and Peak summer are 4 night min.)
Aireys Inlet is peaceful but enough going on to enjoy its offerings. Close to Lorne if you like a bit more hustle and bustle and shopping. Our beaches, cliff top walks and river views I think are even better.
  • Wendy's place is great. Cosy and warm and an excellent escape from the city

This is an architect designed beach house with great living space, 2 sundecks, wonderful views of Aireys Inlet icons such as Eagle Rock and the Lighthouse. The house is 200 metres from the coastal track that takes you to nearby popular surf beaches of Sandy Gully and Sunnymeade. The local shops and township are a 10 minute walk. Aireys Inlet is only 100 minutes from Melbourne and 20 minutes from Lorne.
The house has 180 degree coastal and bush views from the living room/kitchen. There is plenty of space for two families to relax inside and out with two decks and plenty of outdoor furniture. There is a native garden which attracts a lot of birds. Sulphur crested cockatoos and King Parrots are frequent visitors (but please do not feed them, otherwise they start eating the exterior of the house and outdoor furniture). There is NBN WIFI, a well appointed kitchen with dishwasher, TV with Netflix, DVD player, fireplace as well as outdoor shower. All bedrooms have flyscreens and there are 2 bathrooms & 2 toilets. Main bedroom also has a TV. There is a BarBQ with gas point on balcony. Please remember to clean after use and put back where it is stowed.
My neighbourhood is quiet and friendly. The township is within walking distance where there is a pub that does great meals plus many restaurants and cafes. The Surf Coast Coastal Walk is at the end of the street and there are numerous walks nearby in the Otway National Park. The region is known for its great surf beaches, food and wine. The coastal town of Anglesea is a 10 minute drive and Lorne is a 20 minute drive. Winter is a beautiful time to walk along the beach and breathe in fresh sea air. You can even hear the sound of the surf at night as you sleep.
  • Great view of the water and lighthouse.

  • A well appointed, well designed house. Beautiful views of the coastline. Discrete spaces for adults and children to enjoy. A great spot for enjoying coastal walks and sea swims. Large fireplace to enjoy in winter too. We hope to come back and thank you Sally for being so responsive to queries leading up to the booking.

  • A beautiful home....with an amazing view.....we thoroughly enjoyed our girls weekend away relaxing and exploring the area. Our host was extremely responsive and lovely to deal with.

    Nadia2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Sally you didn’t mention your home has so many sustainable attributes ! Chemical free, easy to maintain and keeps at a comfortable temperature, just adjusting window breezes. So many cosy places to escape to and I loved the view of the lighthouse from my pillow .... only missing a swing chair on the branch of the lovely gumtree! The outdoor shower is perfect after an easy walk to the beach which always had a sheltered shady spot. Thanks for the reading supply and DVDs and games too. Our new mum did miss a drier and wash powder as you can never bring enough clothes for a two year old ! Thanks for a fun filled family escape!

    Karen2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sally's place is fantastic. The views of the "round the twist" lighthouse and "lonely apostle" (as I like to call it) are unparalleled. Hot tip - leave the balcony door open at night and let the sounds of the crashing waves drift you off to sleep... As a host, Sally was very responsive and genuine. We had a great time - thanks Sally!

  • Great host, communication was great, the loft is a lovely space n we enjoyed seeing the kangaroos at night. Only drawback was no WiFi, but overall, great location n nice clean loft. Also we’re from the USA and this is the first place we stayed where there was a top sheet on the bed! Thank you !

  • Simon’s place was great. The loft was clean and comfortable with nice decor. It’s only a short walk to the shops which was really convenient. We would definitely recommend Simon’s place to other travellers looking to relax by the coast.

  • Huge home to suit our family's needs - Everyone had room to come together in large kitchen/dining area, however bedrooms were separate,, which was good. Great location, walk to shops, pub and fab walk along the coast. Thanks for hosting us.

A unique and quirky seaside cottage oozing ambience and character for you own exclusive and private use. Featured in 'Home Beautiful Magazine' & ch 9s "postcards' show. Designed especially for a memorable 'couples getaway' with all the mod cons, ie log fire, 3 corner spa, mod kitchen, big LCD tv, dvd library, Airco, WiFi etc. A private cottage just 300m to beach & river mouth & walking distance to everything in town. A great base to explore more of the amazing Great Ocean Road.
The main bedroom with queen bed takes up the entire mezzanine floor. The bathroom has a three corner spa, luxurious heated floor & heated towel rail. Although it's two storey and two bedroom, it's actually very small & cosy.
A good selection of coffee shops and eateries are all within an easy walk. From fine dining at 'A LA Greche' to awesome traditional italian pizza to more casual fish n' chips and loads more. And within around 300M you can enjoy the 'Alan Noble Sanctuary', teeming with birdlife, the 'Bark Hut Park' which is like a mini museum displaying lots of historic information. There's mini golf, kangaroo viewing areas, river walks, bush walks and of course a choice of five amazing beaches! What more could you want?
