Set in the idyllic village of Hankerton, next to a well known spa offering massage and beauty treatments and beautiful gardens. There is a double bedroom, living room, shower and a kitchenette. Ample Parking. Due to the current situation I would be very prepared to give big reductions for anyone who would like to come and stay, it’s a wonderful place to isolate yourselves, it will be deep cleaned wonderful walks, beautiful garden, tennis court and hairdressers and beauty treatments good WiFi.
The accommodation is situated in a beautiful garden, very quiet and peaceful, ideal for a getaway from the city. Near the accommodation you will find a small garden for your own use with a table and chairs under the apple tree, where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. There is also a beauty spa open all week called Lifestyle Health and Beauty which has all the latest treatments. We would like to encourage people who are working in the area to take our accommodation as it's near Cheltenham, Swindon, Bath and not far from Bristol.
Hankerton is a small Cotswold village between Malmesbury and Tetbury. Swindon Bath and Cheltenham are near. Nearby Malmesbury is an historic town with a wonderful Abbey that you might wish to visit. You may also like to see the gardens tended by the celebrated naked gardeners next door! A little further, Tetbury has some wonderful antique shops and delicatessens to browse and the famous Highgrove Shop, which is well worth a visit. Within ten miles is the market town of Cirencester, which is at the heart of the Cotswolds and there are many shops and an interesting Roman museum. For water sports, one can enjoy an abundance of activities such as sailing, jet ski, kite surfing and fishing around the many lakes of the Cotswold Water Parks, a few miles away.
  • Sweet little cottage in the countryside. Rowena is a great hostess -- quick to reply to any messages and full of advice and suggestions for things to do. There are good pubs within walking distance. Having a car is definitely a plus if you want to do much exploring in the area beyond the immediate fields, though, we managed without one. While most of our walks were cut short by flooded fields, it was nice to explore the area and great to come back to the cottage to warm up with tea, brownies, and a good foot soak.

  • Great place to stay ☺️

    Anthony2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful visit! The cottage was well appointed and spotlessly clean and comfortable. Rowena was a very pleasant and helpful host. The local area is quiet and beautiful but not too far away from amenities. This was a perfect, quiet, relaxing and comfortable stay and is highly recommended for those wanting a ‘getaway’ from the big cities.

    Ian2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely couple of nights stay that we had at Rowena’s place. The cottage was lovely and very cosy. Everyone on the estate was very friendly and we couldn’t ask for a better time!

  • We can highly recommend this place. Everything was perfect. We stayed there in December : The property was lovely and warm and I loved the fact that there was a bath with plenty of hot water: Great for after going on a hike across the fields. The homemade brownies were scrummy. The lodge is sparkling clean. As I have said, just perfect.

  • We had a lovely stay at Veronica’s studio. She was incredibly helpful with tips on where to go and what to do in the Cotswolds. The studio was perfect for chilling out in the evenings on a recliner sofa in front of the telly, and it was great to have a kitchen to cook our own food and save some money. The shower was great and we had a really comfy bed to sleep in too. Veronica also kindly left us biscuits, coffee and milk. Thank you for a wonderful stay Veronica! All the best, from Sophie and Sam

  • This location is great for people who fancy a long weekend in the Cotswalds. Big drive area for your car to be parked, and easy to get on and off in my Ford Fiesta. There is a really nice pub/restaurant within 10 minutes walk in a nice and quiet village. The location is great, nearby the Cotswalds airport, and there are plenty of restaurants and pubs to visit within 30 minutes drive. Not too far from Cirenchester either! The accommodation is really nice, cosy and warm. We enjoyed the break here. The bed is really comfortable and you have all the utilities that you need to cook. Ros is a really great host, really responsive and was very helpful. Overall, a really nice location and would recommend to anyone who would like a long weekend away! Ideal for couples.

  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay in this little cottage in the Cotswolds. It was in a great location to reach from Bristol and not far from the arboretum and also the Cotswolds Water Park - both great for walking despite the weather. The kitchen had everything you need to cook whilst staying. The sofa and bed are both very comfortable. The whole place was exceptionally clean. I will definitely be recommending to friends. Roa was so super helpful - answering very quickly. Thanks for our stay 😁

  • We stayed for 5 nights over the New Year and it was the perfect little base for us in the Cotswolds. It's located in a very peaceful corner of Wiltshire with delicious pubs all within a 10-mile radius. The Wheatsheaf in Oaksey and The Potting Shed in Crudwell are delicious - the latter in particular is just unreal - and you've got Malmesbury, Cirencester, Gloucester and Bristol all within reach, too. You can do as much or as little as you like, here, and it's truly a home from home.

  • Great spot, great host. Well worth bringing your trainers for the tennis court!

  • Charles is a great, friendly and welcoming host with good knowledge of the surrounding areas. The accommodation was exactly as described and even exceeded expectations. Would highly recommend.

    Ian2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts who are very generous and accommodating. We stayed for 2 months and they were always trying to make our stay as stress-free as possible. The area is well located with great travel links despite feeling very peaceful. Charles is full of tips for the local area, oh and the dogs are very friendly!

    Abby2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish & comfortable barn conversion within reach of all the Cotswold villages. The barn is in peaceful surroundings so won’t be disturbed at all.. Your very helpful hosts will be very happy to help out with any questions at any point.

    Melvin2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little space, very cosy and perfect for a trip for two! Charles is a brilliant host and the barn is in a great condition. Highly recommended!

    Marianne2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed for a month whilst in the area for business, and found a welcoming and relaxed environment with all the facilities needed to be comfortable staying 'home'. Charles was on hand if needed to answer questions about the area and give tips - but after a long day, the perfect way to spend the evening was with a home cooked meal, a log fire and a good internet connection! Charles and Ali were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble.

    Judith2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a real hidden gem and the perfect base to explore the wonderful Cotswolds. Charles is a very friendly host and has good knowledge of the area. The converted barn was perfect for me and my husband and our small dog. It is finished very nicely and was well equipped for our stay. The kitchen area was open plan with a small table and 2 chairs. Leading down stairs to an amazing wet room with heated floor. Then into a very spacious bedroom with wonderful views, we saw Deer every morning. The only slight downside was the radiator had been broken by a previous guest. We were provided with a small oil radiator which was ok but probably wouldn’t be enough during colder nights. The cosy lounge had a log burner which throws out lots of heat. The furniture could do with updating as we felt it let down the rest of the cottage. Overall we had a very nice, relaxing break and would definitely recommend this lovely place.

    Debbie2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this at very short notice and were very pleased overall with our stay. Charles was quick to reply and despite us arriving late due to travel, came and met us at the door and showed us around the cottage aswell as giving us tips for visiting local area. As we arrived in the dark it was slightly difficult to find but we followed the directions charles had sent and found our way fairly quickly. Cottage was warm and cosy with the added benefit of a fireplace for the evenings, the heated floor in the bathroom was particularly appreciated! It was in a lovely location with plenty of nearby walks which were great especially with the dog. Would have happily stayed for a few more days!

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • Highly recommended venue! It is a beautiful house in a superb location. We stayed here for Cheltenham races, the host was amazing with supporting us with taxis and suggesting eating venues. The house was sparkling clean with more than enough space for 11 of us & all our cars.

  • We spent the whole weekend in this excellent property that was of a very high spec. It exceeded our expectations. One did not want for anything. Gorgeous stove in cozy sitting room which had 2 cupboards of games that we took full advantage of over a warm fire. The whole property was spotlessly clean. All essential services were well labelled easing the pressure of trying to figure out how services worked. The surrounding area is just beautiful. The provided maps helped us plan our daily walks prior to returning to a well equipped kitchen to cook up a feast.

  • Honeysuckle House is absolutely stunning, even better than the already fantastic pictures. It’s really well equipped, especially with plenty of kitchen equipment if you’ve got the full amount of guests. The location is great with plenty of pubs to pick from within quick driving distance. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough and hope to be able to stay again!

    Lucy2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • 12 of us stayed for a university friends reunion and it was the perfect space for us all to catch up and relax together. The open plan kitchen and diner was the best part of the house as we were all able to help cook and eat together without feeling cramped. Each bedroom was decorated beautifully and it really felt like being in someone’s home. We were so glad we chose to host the reunion in a house rather than a hotel. Whilst we didn’t leave the house all that much as it had everything we need we did venture to a local pub which was only a short walk away across lovely countryside. If your looking for a house to be with family or friends in the quiet countryside, this house is for you.

  • Honeysuckle House is the perfect place, exactly as shown and described (if not better). We can’t wait to return for another long relaxing weekend, away from the hustle and bustle. Thanks again!

It is in a very quiet spot which offers privacy within a delightful community. The Host, Mair, is incredibly helpful and accommodating - she is excellent at responding to emails, and I had everything I needed. The Annexe was very clean, comfortable, and had all the basic needs. There bedding, towels etc. were plentiful and in great condition. Overall, I would highly recommend this property.

  • I highly recommend a stay at Jenny's place. It's a perfectly located staging post for access into the Cotswolds and all the beauty it has to offer. I enjoyed some lovely walks nearby as this was my first visit but, with the intention of returning again soon, I will be exploring further afield and still intend to stay at Jenny's. Crudwell itself is a lovely village and the local pub, The Potting Shed, is not only a great place to have a drink but also to eat. I didn't make it to the Rectory Hotel but, upon recommendation, I will be heading there for breakfast on my next visit. Thanks to Jenny and Gregor for their hospitality and for allowing me to stay at their lovely place. I hope you guys book a visit to this lovely part of the world soon.

  • Barbara is a great host, quick to respond to any questions and available at the property to asnwer questions or offer local advice if needed. The Loggiais cozy and comfortable with a VERY comfortable bed. It was also great to have the enclosed outside area for the dog to wander around in. The quick pathway to the local pub was also a bonus!

  • Fab little place for a relaxing night away. Lovely little touches with bread and milk, thankyou Barbara! The potting shed pub 3 miles down the road is lovely for a Sunday roast.

  • Whilst storm Dennis did it’s best to dampen our spirits during our weekend away in the Cotswolds, the loggia was a lovely cosy refuge from the storm! Barbara has prepared the heating to be on before we arrived and the Loggia was very clean and comfy with all the appliances etc you could need. The location is great, close to so many beautiful villages and the proximity of the local pub the Wheatsheaf is fantastic! Dog friendly too and Frank loved the private enclosed garden space. Would love to come back in the sun!

  • The flat is nicely decorated, cosy and in a lovely location but unfortunately we didn’t have a good stay. I don’t like posting negative reviews but the whole concept of Airbnb depends on honest reviews to help future guests. We had two main issues. Firstly the place was dirty. We were told when we arrived that the place had just been cleaned, and sure enough, the carpets were a little damp from cleaning. However there were bits of debris all over the place, indicating that no vacuuming had taken place. More worryingly, was the filthy bedding. As we were about to get into bed, we discovered the bedding was dirty with hair all over. We had to call the host at nearly midnight to ask for fresh linen. Our biggest concern was the unlocked door upstairs that leads into the adjacent property. How can you feel safe in a flat when a door leading into your space can be opened at anytime from the other side? We had to move the sofa in the living room to block the doorway on our side to stop the door from being opened while we slept. Unfortunately, contrary to the many reviews, we did not have a great experience and I hope these issues will be resolved for future guests.

This is a brand new room which we built specifically whilst converting the barn this year. It’s very light, quiet, and has wonderful views over the farm. We have fabulous walks you can go on from here without getting in the car. I’m in the middle of making a pretty sitting area in the orchard which is just opposite the barn. That will be just for the use of guests.
We are a 100 grass farm and here we have up to 25 horses who are here specifically to eat grass! We have youngsters, horses recovering from injuries and retirees. The location is ideal for visiting the Cotswolds as well as places like Bath and Hungerford. It is also 5mns from the Cotswold Water Park where you can water ski, sail and canoe on several beautiful lakes as well as take advantage of the wonderful wildlife that live on the lakes.
We have lived here for 20 years. It’s great being equidistant from Malmesbury and Cirencester, which are both lovely market towns. There are great places to eat in town but also some lovely country pubs - best to book!!
  • Lovely little conversion in a beautiful location in the Cotswolds. Alexandra’s place was even better than anticipated from the photos, and the little touches such as coffee, bread and juice being provided really made it feel like a home from home. The hosts were quick to respond and very helpful and friendly when checking in.

    Becca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the night spent, and they offer a very nice complementary breakfast! The studio is worth a visit!

  • Had such a lovely nights stay, the location is perfect for lovely long country walks, including in the grounds, and visiting local towns like Malmesbury and Cirencester. The room is comfy, cosy and clean and Alex had left a lovely breakfast, tea/coffee, juice and biscuits for us to enjoy which was an unexpected lovely touch. Would highly recommend for a little break.

    Rachel2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Alexandra and Tim's place is amazing! It is the perfect getaway for the weekend. The place is exactly as the pictures. And the horses and animals make the stay incredible. They were both lovely hosts. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

    Tali2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Alexandra’s place was a lovely stay with stunning views over their beautiful farm and surrounding countryside. The place was spotless and a very comfortable stay!

    Ellie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were privileged to be the first guests to stay here and found it delightful. Its a stylish and well presented loft space with a comfortable bed and seating for two, small kitchenette area and good sized bathroom. The shower was good and the whole place was well equipped and thoughtfully laid out. We had a good nights sleep and the surrounding area is very relaxing and scenic. Alex's three dogs were very friendly and welcoming and there are pigs and horses too. We really enjoyed our stay here.

  • We had a lovely stay at Mandy’s place despite the rainy weekend. The chalet is exactly as described and there are some additional nice touches from Mandy as well like the sloe vodka. The place is also a short distance drive from a nearby town if you need Tesco / local restaurants. Would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway in Cotswold.

    Tom2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We have just got back from the best few days at Mandy’s garden chalet! Everything was as described and more. The place was spotlessly clean, the bed was super comfy and wow what a peaceful place to spend some time relaxing and unwinding. We were really lucky to have great weather and took full advantage of the outside area and bbq for two nights in a row. We also took a walk down to the chancel 5 mins away and it’s really is such a quaint little place, we took a drink with us and sat in a field next to it to watch the sunset. Simply wonderful. The chalet is perfectly located to explore the Cotswolds, with Bibury and bourton on the water being the highlights for us but there’s so soooo much more to see and do, we just wish we had more time. Oh and the yard cats are the friendliest cats we have ever met....more like meowing dogs really lol We will be back for certain and next time for longer 😁 5 stars through and through . Thank you Mandy you are the perfect host! Becca and Jose

Double bed in quiet owner-occupied newly built house near lake. Possibly another AirBnB guest staying in another room sharing the bathroom (or could be myself or girlfriend). We may or may not be there face-to-face for check-in (if not we we provide a key) and we usually have minimal contact during the stay other than for queries and/or messages via the AirBnB app. As we like to keep our property quiet and relaxing, we are ideal for quiet people who go to bed before 10:30pm and raise after 7am.
Use of room and bathroom. Use of kitchen for the microwave and to store a a couple of items in the fridge is OK if you let us know in advance. If you want to use the kitchen for anything more than that then there is an extra charge, usually £10 per night. As we are regularly cooking ourselves, please let us know before you arrive or there will likely not be space!
Situated in Cotswold Water Park. Easy drive to Cirencester, Swindon and Malmesbury, along with the A419 and M4.

  • We had a wonderful stay in ‘The Warren’ over the weekend. The hot tub was just amazing for our girls trip. The place was exceptionally clean, and Tracy was such a great host with responding to my questions. Thank you for making our stay so amazing!

  • The chalet is a great place to relax and unwind, surrounded by some beautiful lakes and the sprawling Cotswolds. It's in a great location (only a 20 to 25 minute drive from the Swindon train station) and is a great halfway point between the Midlands and London. The chalet itself was really cute and clean - the hot tub was absolutely amazing and was definitely our favourite part of our trip! It's a little tight for 6 people but we managed fine and everyone slept well anyway. The games were also a great addition as we ended up just staying in in the evenings. Would recommend bringing some wellies as it gets very muddy on the footpaths. Tracey was an incredibly responsive and helpful host, and so very grateful for all her help during the weekend! We'd definitely recommend staying at the chalet and we'd definitely stay again - thanks for having us Tracey!

Very comfortable beds with extras such as toiletries, tea, coffee and a bottle of Prosecco. The added bonus of a hot hub for a chilled break was amazing. Nothing was to much trouble. Communication with Tracy was efficient and detailed. I’m looking forward to my return visit. Lynne

  • Would 100% recommend. Lovely place and exactly as described. Beautiful grounds and plenty to do. House is set in such a nice location, pool and spa were amazing. Tim is very accommodating and allowed us an earlier check in and later check out too which was much appreciated.

  • A beautiful property set in a lovely location. We enjoyed using all of the local facilities during the day and relaxing in front of the log fire in the evening. We would love to come back later in the year and enjoy the balcony overlooking the lake.

  • A lovely and cosy lodge in a beautiful location. Howells Mere is stunning. We had a very relaxing week here. Would thoroughly recommend the spa facilities. Communication with the host was excellent and effortless check in and check out. Thanks for a great stay.

  • A great house to enjoy a few days in the Cotswolds. The house is fantastic: modern, spotless, and really well kitted out with everything you need for a few days away. They've really put a lot of thought into the things you need as a family: a travel crib, extra blankets, a high chair and loads of plastic kids' plates, bowls and cups. The estate is lovely and peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

Two adjoining private fishing lakes in the Cotswold Water Park surrounded by trees and grassy walks are the setting for this Architect designed very contemporary Lodge. Serious carp fishing and also a trout lake. Relaxing comfort in a beautiful park with great gastro pubs, shopping and exciting activities nearby. The Lodges are adults only, we don't accommodate children. Sorry, NO pets or smoking allowed on any premises also.
Little Horseshoe Lake is very well stocked with some famous carp which weigh in up to 40 lbs. Bring your own equipment or hire from the Tackle Den which is about a mile away. The trout lake has brown and rainbow trout. Experienced fishermen welcome or lessons through the Tackle Den.
The neighbourhood is full of lakes which were originally gravel pits. They have matured into a wonderful parkland and offer many activities. South Cerney is a very old village with 2 pubs and a few small shops. It dates back to the 10th century. Cirencester offers excellent shopping, markets, and good cafes and restaurants, also it has probably the best small museum in England and a magnificent Church. Within walking distance is the De Vere Hotel which has an attractive bar, restaurant and Spa.
  • The most peaceful place I have ever stayed with stunning scenery. Waking up when the sun rises and watching the stars at night. Nothing better for the soul then a few nights in this wonderful lodge. Unfortunately we didn’t get the explore the surrounding villages but luckily all you need is in this lodge, every detail is thought of from fresh flowers, blankets and even a cake to go with your morning coffee. We would love to return one day.

    Karen2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This lodge is absolutely beautiful, wonderfully located and simply gorgeous! The space is immaculate, spacious and incredibly designed. We hardly wanted to leave and enjoyed relaxing by the fire when it was wet out. We stayed for the weekend and are longing to come again, thank you!

    Ronan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had an awesome stay, the lodge is both spacious and stylish. The check-in process was straightforward, communication was excellent throughout with plenty of local recommendations provided. Florina provided great hospitality by arranging candles and rose petals throughout the lodge - a great thoughtful touch! Thoroughly recommend to all, will definitely return.

  • This place was absolutely stunning! Incredible setting, stylish interior and spotlessly clean. Probably the most relaxing places we’ve ever stayed at. Will certainly recommend and visit again - worth every penny!

  • I booked the lodge as a surprise for mine and my husbands 2nd wedding anniversary! We were absolutely blown away from the moment we arrived. The Lodge is just breath takingly beautiful and in such wonderful surroundings. The serenity is unreal and just what we wanted I couldn’t have made a more perfect choice! The whole place was just immaculate from top to bottom. We had the Canadian geese and swans visit us every time we stepped out the door which was lovely. I enjoyed a glass of red by the log fire at night and a cuppa in the morning..... :-) The lodge had everything we needed for a long weekend. And looking forward to our next visit! I would absolutely recommend the lodge for a romantic getaway YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

    Hayley Louise2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely stunning, spotlessly clean, high standard little touches, and incredibly serene. It’s truly one of the most beautiful places to spend a quite weekend away. The lake is stunning paired with breathtaking sunsets. We were met with two beautiful swans, paired geese and an array of diverse wildlife everyday, we could not have asked for any more! Winter there is perfect and I’m sure summer would be extremely special too. Highly recommend! Thank you for a lovely stay.

    Jake Aiden2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Island Lodge is one of the most beautiful unique places we have ever stayed in, in the UK. We fell in love with the place! The lodge was spotless on arrival, and the interior is such an amazing spec. Sometimes pics can be deceiving, however the Island Lodge was even better than expected. Close by is the Gateway Cafe which does amazing food, and the lake it sits on is so peaceful and quiet, you can’t help but feel totally hidden away. A complete gem, anyone booking will be delighted I’m sure!
