  • Exceptional value and unbeatable location. I walked in my snowboarding gear from the lodge to the red line lift at Magic! Vince and the other staff were also friendly and hospitable. Vince communicated with me promptly prior to my arrival, when I thought I might be adding a second guest to my reservation. I highly recommend The Upper Pass!

We are tucked in a beautiful valley in central Vermont. From the vibrant colors of autumn to easy access to the Killington Skyeship ski lift, to our own pool and tennis court we offer four season fun. It's a short drive to historic Woodstock, Long Trail Brewery, President Calvin Coolidge homestead and museum. We are also very convenient to Okemo and Pico ski resorts.
This is a family run business and my wife and I are happy to provide you with comfortable accommodations to enjoy your stay. Both my wife and I are originally from New York. We both love the beauty of Vermont and enjoy outdoor activities. We are skiers, tennis players, golfers, and kayakers and have made Killington our home for more than 25 years.
  • This is a motel super close to the Killington base. Dan was helpful and friendly. There is a hot tub.

  • Great spot for the price. Easy access, close to everything! Rooms are nothing fancy but warm and comfortable.

    Kirill2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • the description doesn't say that it's a motel but it's a motel. as long as you know ahead of time that it is a motel, and your expectations are for a motel, you'll enjoy your stay. this place has its charm and the host was awesome. he gave us an old shower curtain to lay in the back of my friend's truck to put our luggage on top of because it was snowing. the wifi was solid, I was able to watch an online stream at 720p at 30fps with no buffering. the place is a 2-minute drive to the ski lift at Killington so it's a great location. the beds are motel beds, nothing terrible or special about them. the hosts were responsive and communicated with us quickly. great deal for the price.

  • We had an awesome snowboarding anniversary and look forward to returning! The hosts were the best - fun and witty and attentive. We had a great time hanging with different folks by the fire. Breakfast was fresh and healthy, yet simple - bagels, yogurt, cereal, fruit. The location is perfect. The rooms are basic. The bed was fine. There wasn’t enough furniture to put your stuff on but other wise very clean and quiet. We highly recommend!

  • The Vermont inn is set in a delightful location in the Green Mountains There are lots of quiet, comfortable corners to sit and read, or look out at the stunning views and foliage. A thoughtful touch....binoculars for use. The staff were wonderful, nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious in the dining room with an open wood fire. Sadly, they no longer serve dinner, but we found a good Italian restaurant, Peppino’s near Killington. An excellent overnight stay on our tour of New England. John and Pam. Manchester England.

  • We could not make the trip due to some emergency, Andrea and Isabel were very understanding and helpful. They offered us their other listings to fit our schedule. They are super kind people and woukd definitely love to stay with them during our next visit.

  • We had a very pleasant weekend at Andrea's house. The room was lovely, clean and the breakfast was delicious. Very well located.

    Leslie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Her house was so nice! Perfect for our weekend stay. Harry (the dog) was nice and friendly and the bed was extra comfortable.

    Andrew2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a great ski weekend stay at Andrea's. She's a kind and welcoming host, her pets are adorable, and her home is warm and cozy. Recommended!

    Adam2019-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Andreas was absolutely perfect. She is a paragon of hospitality. Her home was charming and full of fun and interesting art as well as our room being very comfortably furnished. Every morning we woke up to a wholesome and filling breakfast ( we even ended up skipping lunch on a day or two) that gave us tons of energy for our adventures. She’s located about 35-40 minutes to Killington if you’re looking for a ski weekend and just ten minutes outside Rutland which has plenty of activities and restaurants. We also brought up our 8 month old pup and he couldn’t have had a better time. He played every day with Andreas dog Harry and enjoyed a hike out to a beautiful abandoned quarry. When we were spending our ski day Andrea even offered to let him out for us while we were away. All in all this was one of the best air B and B experiences I’ve ever had. Andrea was hospitable, communicative, and helpful every step of the way. Her location was perfect and very affordable and her rooms were very very comfortable. We will definitely book with her again.

    Antoinette2019-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Andrea's with a friend during a last minute ski trip. We planned the trip a few days before showing up and did not expect much, but our stay with Andrea was wonderful. Her pets are painfully adorable, the house is really lovely with funky art and decor everywhere. Really cozy and comfortable. Andrea is great, super communicative and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. And made breakfast. What more can you ask for? Will definitely be back!

  • We came here for what turned out to be a lovely weekend away. Emily went out of her way to share history of the area and to give us recommendations for local sights. The room was perfect with a stunning view of the green mountains. Leaving this place I thought to myself “we have to do this every year!”

  • Emily really puts a personal touch in order for her guests to be super comfortable and have everything they need. Her breakfasts (froached eggs and oven pancakes) were fresh and delicious and between that Emily offered some snacking on ground berries and sweet tomatoes. The view from the house is amazing, the hospitality is more than I expected and Emily has a great knowledge about gardens and cuisine! I really enjoyed my stay

    Anna2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Emily's place was wonderful. Her home is lovely, very clean, spacious and so comfortable. The bed and linens were cozy, providing a wonderful night's sleep. The view from the deck is stunning and the property is enjoyable for strolling as is the neighborhood. Emily is truly a super host, welcoming and helpful in every way, providing a yummy breakfast, and giving helpful tips on local activities. The home is conveniently located for local cultural and outdoor activities. We enjoyed fun conversations with Emily and joining a music jam with a local folk club. Our visit was too short and we look forward another visit!

  • Great lady, excellent host, 5-star breakfast!

  • A friend of mine and I went for a ski weekend in Killington and stayed with Andrea and Isabel for two nights. It exceeded our expectations in many ways! Their house is georgeous and full of artwork. From the moment we walked in, I was completely taken away by the comfort and beauty. We took the room with a queen bed and day bed. The room was spacious. It can easily fit up to 3-4 people. We arrived a bit late on Friday around 1030pm. Isabel stayed up and showed us the room. The next two days we had to leave at 730am for ski classes. Andrea got up early on both days and made us amazing breakfasts. It was so delicious that my friend wants to go back just for the breakfast:). Needless to say, the room and bathroom were spotless clean and comfortable. Thank you Andrea and Isabel for your hospitality. We look forward to staying with you again

  • Andrea was an amazing host! My husband and I took a trip to Vermont to get away from the city and enjoy Vermont's fall foliage and Andrea's home gave us exactly that! Her home is very cozy, clean and well maintained. She has a lot of space and you pretty much have access to all of it. We stayed with our dog as well and everyone was so nice and friendly towards our dog. Andrea's breakfast each morning was delicious and my husband and I really did feel at home during our stay at Clarendon Springs. We did a lot of hiking and exploring in the nearby towns during the day and at night her home was quiet and relaxing and we really did get a good night's sleep all three nights we stayed here. I have absolutely no complaints about our stay here and would absolutely love to stay here again for future visits.

    Nancy2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super cute and Andrea is really nice. Plus I always got a nice greeting from a car or dog when I got back :)

  • Loved Andrea's place. Every room was as pictured on the site. Breakfast everyday was AMAZING (with a great view of the yard with birds in the window)! Andrea was super friendly and waited for us even though we arrived later than anticipated. She made us feel at home and welcome to anything we needed. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to check out the river in the backyard and the hot tub was removed a few months ago. The drive to Killington was easy (~30 minutes). Would definitely stay again!

    Jenna2019-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A clean, lovely and cozy spot. Our hostess was very gracious and accommodating. The room was spacious and we were very comfortable. Wish we'd stayed longer to take full advantage of the lovely locale and the hot tub

    Julia2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea is an excellent host. Her breakfast is 5 star ⭐️!! She's always with a smile and has a bustling home with friends & family. The area couldn't be any more beautiful! Hot tub don't forget your suit.

  • We loved staying here! Was a perfect home base for a weekend getaway to Killington. The place is so homey and lovely, and the included breakfast was awesome! The host was even very flexible and understanding when we arrived late. We strongly recommend this place!

  • Very cozy and great value. The breakfasts were incredible! We stayed for a long weekend of snowboarding at Pico Mountain which was about 25 min away and not very crowded. Our two dogs also had a great time romping around the backyard off leash. Andrea and Isabel were very friendly and easily accessible whenever we had questions. We would definitely stay there again.

The Mansion is close to restaurants and dining, nightlife, family-friendly activities, and public transport. You’ll love the high ceilings, the convenient location, and the views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and groups of friends. The suite offered is the Redfield, made of up of 2 rooms and a bathroom. For a single or couple, the second room might serve as a sitting room, rather than a bedroom.
The building is a fascinating 150 year old Victorian. There are family histories and stories from different eras I can direct you to or you can look at the history page for the Bed and Breakfast (Antique Mansion) if you are interested.
Rutland has a cute small-city downtown. There are numerous restaurants, museums (Chaffee Art Center, Castleton University Galleries, Norman Rockwell Museum, Vermont Marble Museum, New England Maple Museum), bookstores, spas, gift, jewelry and novelty shops. There is a multiplex movie theater and live theater venues (Paramount Theatre, Brick Box, Merchants Hall). There are seasonal craft fairs, music festivals and sports challenge events...check the Rutland-Killington Regional Calendar of Events.
  • Great stay in a convenient location! Mansion was beautiful and breakfast was delicious.

  • Sallie was an incredible host! So accommodating and generous. The house is gorgeous and truly a sight to see. The gardens were beautiful as well. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting the area.

  • Great place we left a google review for the antique mansion with some pictures. Even nicer than we expected. Love what sally has done with the space and there’s so much history and natural charm. Check it out

  • Sallie is an excellent host. She is accommodating, thoughtful, and friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Our breakfasts were delicious. She offered advice about things to do and places to eat in the area. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

    Phyllis2019-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Antique Mansion was an awesome B&B! Loved its Victorian character and furnishings and Sallie was a wonderful host from greeting to checking on our breakfast time preference to her wonderful breakfasts! Enjoyed our time there and look forward to the opportunity to stay there again!

    Lori2019-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sallie was kind and welcoming, and served delicious breakfast! The house was really beautiful and interesting, I probably could have stayed there a week and noticed something new every day. Our accommodations were spacious and comfortable. Location was great, we drove only 5 minutes to have a fantastic dinner and about 30 minutes to the mountains in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

    Nicole2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This antique mansion was a fantastic destination for my friends and myself. The location is within half an hour of multiple ski resorts, and was perfect for our trip to and from. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and most of it has been admirably kept in the remarkable form in which it was built back in 1867. There are a few updates to ensure comfort including renovated bathrooms, and wifi/cable (which I'm pretty they didn't have during the civil war), but it really is a beautiful piece of history. The rooms were very clean and included all necessary items for a stay. Sallie is a wonderful and very attentive host. She was very responsive to all communication and provided every amenity one could expect from a bed and breakfast. The breakfast in the morning was consistently delightful, and she went out of her way to make sure that we were satisfied. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking in the future.

    Jacob2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sallie was a wonderful host, flexible with arrival times and a clear communicator. Her bed and breakfast is well situated, close to the center of Rutland. We enjoyed the antique touches throughout the mansion. The rooms were immaculate. Sallie also cooks a wonderful breakfast!

Country Lodge with rustic décor in a wooded setting. Quiet location outside the city of Manchester. Close to all area venues and restaurants. We are a family operated lodging place, cozy and warm. A full healthy European style breakfast will be served from 8 AM until 9:30.
For outdoor activities you can choose from Horseback riding, mountain bike rides, hiking the Appellation trail. go fly fishing, inner tubing on the river, play tennis. 9 hole golf course at the town park, pick Blueberries or apples in season, go to a concert or attend a theater play.
  • Bert's place is awesome. The breakfast is top notch! At night time he makes hot fresh apple cider which I found myself so excited for on these cool fall nights. Bert was a great host. We had excellent conversations during breakfast. The location is perfect, only a few minutes drive to the center of town and to hiking trails. Definitely made me want to come back to Vermont.

Great views. Spacious indoor and out. Wonderful for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), groups of friends, and furry friends (pets). I can accommodate small weddings, meetings and and parties with a variable facility fee. I am a Bed and Breakfast, and have 2 suites available. The other one is listed under Balm of Gilead B & B Blue suite. More pictures there. Airbnb doesn't provide me with an option for both suites on one site, but you can book each individually.
Huge great room, dining room with a fireplace. Plenty of parking. 20 minutes from Okemo and 45 minutes from Killington. Close to cross country trails. Hiking nearby. Close to Apalachian Trail. Suites are spacious, with privacy doors on both bedroom and sittingroom. All linens provided, with down and polyfill comforters. Quiet, pristine air, pure well water. Breakfast is provided. Each suite has a mini-frig. A microwave is available. In the dining room there is a Keurig with many k-cups for your pleasure 24/7.
If you go on Google World and enter 774 CCC Road, Shrewsbury, VT, you can see the privacy we offer. Vermont folk are very friendly, and Pierce's General Store is just 3/4 mile down the road.

  • Loved our stay at Sarah’s!!!!! It is much more grand than it looks in pics. We were in pink suite and appreciated everything available to us during stay. We spent some good time in living space, patio, back yard and front yard too and my pup loved running in the large open space in back. Sarah was very nice and welcoming and we enjoyed her cooking skills during breakfast and one dinner that we stayed home for. The location is great for a fall vacation and the drive from her place to Woodstock was the prettiest i have seen across Vermont! Would love to visit again.

  • from the cleanliness to wonderful hospitality, you can find it all right here. Keurig coffee 24/7 which is a must for me to a selection from the wine bar with fruit and dessert cake, you can help yourself to it all. The views are absolutely amazing. The rooms and bathroom were immaculate and very clean. Need shampoo, conditioner or body wash? They have it all right there in the room. the bed was so comfortable I did not want to get up. Lets not forget the host. Very friendly yet gives you your privacy. Hungry, she cooks an amazing breakfast that's included with your stay.

  • Great house with lots of history, wonderful view, delicious breakfast, super clean and cozy. Short drive to Rutland, Killington and Okemo. We certainly enjoyed our stay and discussion with the host. Our dog also had the best time running around outside the house and on the deck. Perfect for families/friends gathering. Would love to come back again.

  • Sarah was an absolutely fantastic host! She was completely accommodating of our later arrival and early start time for hitting the slopes nearby. The breakfast does not disappoint along with the rest of her cozy and beautiful home. I can't say enough about her hospitality and the more than comfortable accommodations. Highly recommended for a weekend trip to the area!

    Randy2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • My family (with 2 adults and 2 children) stayed for 4 nights at Sarah‘s place for our ski trip to Okemo. Our ski trip became extra special because of Sarah’s hospitality! Sarah is a charming, attentive, and very knowledgeable host. We enjoyed having breakfast with Sarah, and we were grateful that she made us delicious apres-ski dinners (dinners are an extra charge but we were very grateful to have delicious warm meals at the house after long ski days). We stayed at the Pink Suite. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but it is a very clean and spacious suite with a separate sitting room that became our children‘s bedroom. The room had plenty of extra towels, blankets, pillows, etc. and the bathroom was thoughtfully stocked as well. Sarah welcomed us with a complimentary bottle of wine which we thought was a nice touch. We also enjoyed sitting next to the fireplace in the large living room and playing Star Wars Trivial Pursuit (tip: make sure to invite Sarah to join your team as she is a Star Wars guru).

  • Sarah's place was the perfect winter getaway for our group of 4. We skied Killington, which was a 40 minute drive away but well worth it. We spent every night by the fireplace, and it offered the perfect apres-ski low key ambiance we were looking for. But the best part was probably the thoughtful touches seen in every corner of the house as well as Sarah's breakfast pancakes.

Historic inn in the heart of the Green Mountains, just south of Manchester. Warm hospitality and fireplaces. Full, homemade breakfast, featuring local ingredients. Frontage on the Battenkill River with canoes and kyakes available for guests. Great downhill and Nordic skiing is minutes away.
We have four charming guest suites, each sleeps 3 or 4 adults. Each suite has its own bath. One has a wood fireplace, the rest have electric stoves.
We are located at the foot of Mount Equinox, 3 miles south of Manchester and 2 miles north of Arlington. Shopping, dining, skiing, hiking and other outdoor activities abound. Bromley Mountain is 14 miles, Stratton is 26.
  • Kevin and Michale were amazing hosts in this quaint and beautiful colonial inn. From the moment we checked in we were made to feel welcome. The fires going in the living room, as well as some delicious cookies created a warm and cozy atmosphere upon our arrival. Breakfast was also amazing - everything locally sourced and tasty. We could not have enjoyed our stay any more.

    James2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderfully warm place to stay during our Stratton ski weekend! Michael was an incredibly thoughtful host, especially when he served his amazing breakfast creations. We felt very cared for in this sweet, tasteful B&B.

  • Last minute, super quick stay but totally “reset” me and my son - a perfect getaway to recharge

    Yvonne2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was an interesting and comfortable stop for our first night in Vermont. Kevin was patient with our many questions about this historic home. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was great.

  • This is your quintessential antique New England home experience. It is not fancy but warm, inviting and comfortable. The hosts are wonderful, as are their guests. I cannot say enough about how incredible breakfast is. You feel comfortable lingering over breakfast and working on your computer and relaxing in the evening with a book in the main room and enjoying the cookies.

    Nancy2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful historic home in a wonderful town, just a 2 minute drive from downtown Manchester. Mike was a great host and breakfast was great. Would absolutely stay again and highly recommend!

    Dylan2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Place is as described. The home has a lot of character. Enjoyed the large lawn area along the river. All the other guests were personable as well

    Nancy2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't have asked for better hosts (or breakfasts!). The Ira Allen home was under the wonderful care of Kevin and Michael, and from the moment we met them, we knew they were incredibly passionate about the history of the home, as well as preserving it for people from all over the world to visit and relax in. The rooms are wonderfully decorated, and while we saw guests coming and going, we never felt disturbed during our time there. Michael and Kevin were both very knowledgeable on things to do and see in Vermont, and were all around great to have conversations with. We really, really hope to return again!

  • I can’t even begin to explain the level of hospitality shown by the owner and staff at The Upperpass Lodge. I was so lucky to find it on a whim! The price is AMAZING for what you get. I highly recommend staying for 28 days or more. The discount for a long stay was awesome. My room had a balcony, and it was really convenient to have a few restaurants nearby. If you want a quiet stay in a rural area, this place is amazing. I would definitely rate it as one of the best AirBNBs in Vermont. Thank you to the Upperpass and all of its staff.

    Jacqueline2018-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay so much we extended to another day.

    Scott2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • I spent three nights here recently for a snowboarding trip and it was the perfect location for what was needed. The place is cozy and has a family feel to it. Vince and Melissa were great and very helpful throughout our stay. The food at their restaurant was also amazing, Wednesday night half off burgers and beer was a fantastic and welcomed bonus. Just keep in mind that the restaurant is not open every night of the week. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area. (P.S. Brico and Trigger, the dogs of Vince and Melissa, were absolutely adorable as well)

    Analisa2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our host Vince and his crew have raised the bar for lodging and restaurants. "The Red Slate" has a chef who had us coming to dinner wondering if our last meal could be topped. It was... Don't miss the food here. The Upper Pass Lodge is managed by a true professional. Vince and his crew will make you want to move in for good. The location is perfect for seeing all of southern Vermont. You could not ask for more. Don't miss "The Upper Pass Lodge".

  • What a warm, welcoming family environment! This is the perfect place for you, the kids and dog! The room has everything you need and there is hot coffee and muffins waiting for you in the morning. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

    Veronica2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • For my first AirB&b experience, this was great. We were looking for a really inexpensive night in central VT, passing through, but didn't want anything too "low rent". This was extremely clean and comfortable. The innkeeper was friendly and helpful and also poured a nice maple bourbon at the bar! Is the place modern and updated? Well. Not really, but it's a ski chalet! Even for summer, just casual and also if you have kids it's great. And as I said, comfortable and clean which to me is the most important thing. I wish I could have brought my dog on the trip because he would have been welcome here! I would definately recommend.
