Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • This was my first personal Airbnb experience and I'm glad I found Thane' place!! I loved everything about Thane and his place! This was a last minute trip and last minute booking but Thane worked with me! In addition, I was unable to make the check-in time posted due to my late flight and Thane did everything in his power to accommodate me! Once I checked in, I immediately felt at home! The place was clean, cozy, and was exactly what Thane said it is on the website! The refrigerator and bathroom was filled with the essentials! Although I'm vegan and couldn't drink regular milk, I was surprised to see fresh milk in the refrigerator (my Driver was grateful for it). Thanks to the Vegan restaurant near the listing I was a happy camper!! I was delighted to have Tea leaves to make tea in the morning!! I live for morning cups of tea and I hate tea dust in tea bags. Good look on the tea leaves Thane! Thane mentioned that his neighbors could be a bit loud because the walls are thin but I didn't have any noise problems!! The morning sun is beautiful through the glass windows! Overall great experience, great place, great host! I will definitely use Thane's place again!

  • Thane's airy and spacious loft in Detroit was the perfect place to stay for the long weekend. Thane was a gracious and accommodating host. He gave us excellent recommendations for sightseeing & dining. All within comfortable driving distance from his place. Also- there were plenty of spaces to park near the front of the building which was a huge plus. Thanks for everything, Thane!

    Miriam & Steve2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • A huge thank you to Karen (Thane's Mother) for taking great care with every detail of booking, check-in, follow-up, etc. And then an even bigger thank you to Thane, the loft's owner. His space is well appointed, of course. But beyond that, it is personal, smart, even thought provoking. (After a quick glance at his accumulated books, artwork, collected maps and displayed photos, you realize you are a houseguest of a guy you want to know.) I used uber to get me everywhere. Eater Detroit to point me to the right bites (I am a chef in Charleston.) And Thane's "guide" to get me to some places I wouldn't have found on my own. Please consider this your Detroit base if you value authenticity and character. And of course a good place to rest your head at the end of the long day.

    Wendy2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cool space. Access to the park was great for morning walks. A little noisy, but not so much as to disturb sleep. Definitely a neighborhood in transition - hipster cool.

    Ifit2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thane was very helpful. He has researched the area thoroughly and is very generous - offering specific ideas for our family. Detroit has lots of gems that he can help you find.

    Mary-Ann2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the place. Thane has good taste.

    Felicia2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Thane's loft. It looks and feels exactly as pictured and really added to our overall Detroit experience. A few earlier reviews mentioned concerns with soundproofing, but we didn't have any issue with this (especially given this is a corner unit). Thane prepared a great list of recommendations for us, which we took full advantage of. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would recommend this listing to any family, friend, or fellow Airbnb members. Thanks for sharing this space with the Airbnb community Thane!

    Corey2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is spacious, has a great view, lots of windows, and is clean. The host is extraordinarily helpful, and went out of the way to make my stay a good one, even offering the use of bicycles in the loft, and providing extensive informations about places to visit, eat, get a drink and so forth. For those not familiar with the city, who may not know the neighborhood, it is quite safe - gated parking and double locked entryways, near a rental bike station, and on the beginning part of the Riverwalk path to downtown. No noise, and a very comfortable, clean space. The host couldn't be beat!

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.
  • Jesse's apartment is amazing! It's clean, comfortable and super cool! Jesse is also a great host -- very easy to communicate with. We'd be back anytime!

  • Great host ! Very accommodating! And the space is awesome.

    Jenny2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great and as pictured. Jesse was a perfect host. I strongly recommend.

  • Really nice comfortable apt. Everything was spotless...felt at home. Became one of my go to apts to stay at when I come to Detroit.

    Steven2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the loft & felt super comfortable in the space. We adored the Detroit details of the place (art, maps, books) & loved listening to the record collection. Also, the bed was very comfortable & quiet. Very convenient to the places we fell in love with: Batch Brewing, Institute of Bagels, Slows BarBQ, Gray Ghost Bar, etc. Thumbs up!

    Katherine2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse was great and super communicative from the time we booked through check out. The place was exactly as depicted in the photos and descriptions. The area was very quiet (maybe too quiet if you're looking for some nightlife) and we felt completely safe (doesn't hurt having the police station across the sidewalk). If we return to Detroit and are looking for a place to stay again - we'll be sure to reach out to Jesse as we would definitely return. Thanks, Jesse!

    Michael2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Easy all around, and exactly as described. Fast/efficient communication with Jesse. Recommended!

    Jeremy2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse made our stay very awesome. He was very accommodating by booking us and letting us stay within hours. He even was very nice about my mishap of not reading the 'check-out' instructions correctly by not putting the key back in the lock box.

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • Absolutely beautiful flat. We loved "playing house" in this sunlit, perfectly appointed property. We are already looking for excuses to return to Detroit to work and play so we can enjoy this spot again. Thank you!

    Alissa2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Zac and Renee's place was obviously created with love. They did a beautiful job on the apartment, located in a green neighborhood filled with other charming houses. It's a short walk to midtown shops and parking is easy outside the house. We met Renee as they were gardening outside when we arrived but had no issues getting the key out of the lockbox and feeling at home. (Taco the cat greeted us warmly on the doorstep too.)

    Emily2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our weekend at Zac and Renee's beautiful apartment. It was clean, comfortable, and a quick drive to everywhere we wanted to go in Detroit. We would definitely stay again!

    Jen2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice space, quirky like you would want an Airbnb. Clean apartment, the air conditioning leaves a little to be desired. The neighborhood is a neat starting point to explore Detroit. Very quiet, it exudes the past, fascinating architecture. Late one night we met Taco the cat, very friendly and he wanted an invite to our place that we just couldn't give. He does have his work cut out for him, there's a little mice problem due to the over growth of the lots next door, perhaps.

    Adam2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This home through the pictures does not do it in justice. It is a thousand times better in real life. The detail and the homey feel you get there is unbelievable. The art and decoration literally inspired me to come home and do a renovation. A must stay if you're in Detroit. It's only a 5 minutes car ride to the middle of Downtowns Detroit.

    Trae2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Zac and Renee were wonderful hosts, responsive and friendly. I used to live down the street from their beautiful space for 3 years, so it was a treat to be back in the neighborhood for a couple of nights. We had a couple of old friends over one night and everyone raved about how beautiful the apartment was. Thank you for a lovely homecoming!

    Jess2016-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Zac & Renee are Detroit's secret that everyone should know about. You'll find a comfortable space touched up with artwork that feels like it has been around the world and back. Everything is so dope and stylish it'll quickly become your go to Detroit airbnb!

    Ariandé2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome, Instagram-friendly space for our first Airbnb experience. My son always wanted to return “home” when we were out and about. Well appointed kitchen. Super comfy bed. My 6-year old “camped” on a Thermarest; he couldn’t have been happier. We couldn’t get Netflix to work, so in our evenings, we played Monopoly instead. Street parking was super easy (definitely leave your car empty, though). We were sorry to leave and hope to return.

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • This location was perfect for exploring Corktown and the rest of Detroit. The view out front of the Michigan Train Depot is amazing. The place is very comfortable and clean. We had a wonderful weekend stay!

    Sarah2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay, fun/funky/eclectic apartment, great neighborhood.

    Michael2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Honor and Folly could not be a lovelier place to stay. I arrived before my friends and got to enjoy a few hours all to myself. The apartment was clean, inviting, really spacious, and as beautiful as you would imagine from the photos. Great stuff right outside the front door, too. My friends and I are local, but this was such a welcome respite from our everyday lives. I hope to stay again!

    Jim2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Corktown at Meghan's lovely and fun apartment. Meghan provided great area recommendations and we felt like true locals staying at this location. We will definitely visit Detroit and will book this apartment again!

    Helen2018-08-20T00:00:00Z

  • Kyle's loft was just gorgeous! Great hosting in absolutely great fringy yet save neighborhood. Parking is easy, and with Uber you get to Downtown area or fab food spots (such as Rock City Eatery) in less than 10 mintues. So, overall great experience ... we'll be back! :-)

    Eric2016-05-27T00:00:00Z

    Jared2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had rented out the entire Chaps Lofts building, 12 units, from Friday to Monday for our family and out of town friends to stay during our wedding weekend. It worked out fantastic! Kyle walked me through the check in process for each room on Thursday when we checked in a day early for 2 units. He also took the time to go over details of beds and bathrooms for each unit based on my notes taken from each Airbnb listing so I could accurately assign rooms per group. Each and every guest LOVED the lofts. There were plenty of good, quality towels provided as well as nice linens for the beds. Even with couples & friends pairing up to share units, they all felt comfortable and safe. Since my family was staying there as well with small children, safety was a concern. Kyle took time in advance of our weekend booking to meet my parents and walk them through a unit to let them know what this place was all about. He also fielded all calls / questions after that meeting from my Dad who isn't used to this type of overnight stays. Since this area is a little off the downtown area, I would definitely prepare to have a car or plan for Uber to get around. Luckily there is secure parking in which we had no problems parking cars safely over the weekend. Overall, the lofts are spacious, clean, comfortable and we felt safe there. I hope we get the opportunity to stay again sometime. They made the weekend a complete success!

    Michelle2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was great, tons of space and very near downtown. Kyle was very quick to respond and sort any concerns I had. Will definitely stay again!

    Doran2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place had really cool vibes and was perfect for hanging out. Unfortunately we stayed during a terrible snowstorm so we did not get to adventure too far from the apartment. Thankfully the place heated up very nicely & we enjoyed making dinner and spent the night watching movies in the giant bean bag chair.

    Sydney2018-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Interior as pictured, large space, well maintained.

    Annie2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place, and Kyle is an out-of-this-world host! I reserved Kyle's place for a group that I manage that was in town for an event. The place was perfect for them. Plus Kyle is an amazing host. He cares about the experience of his Airbnb-ers. He also goes above and beyond -- when we needed an extra bed he was quick to drop off an air mattress and linens. Highly recommend!

Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • The building is very nice, and the studio apartment itself is quite spacious, clean, and minimalistic. Gated area with several passcodes needed to fully enter the studio apartment. My Daughter and I felt very secure! Mark, the Co-Host, was great at explaining things, friendly, and always prompt to respond. Would come stay here again!

  • A great stay in a great neighbourhood.

    Angela2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cons: Air conditioning sounds like a loud train engine that goes off every 5 mins all night long but you don't want to turn it off completely because then it's too hot The neighborhood is hip with cute restaurants and shops but it's still in transition with abandoned houses right next door The one recommended restaurant, Sheldon standard, is horribly overpriced and not particularly good (Chartruese is much better) The key combo isn't very cooperative The apartment door doesn't lock (but the gate and building door do Pros: The apartment has a private entrance and is very clean and stylishly simple tea bedding and towels and shampoo are provided

  • One of our favourite Airbnb’s ever! Bed is super comfy, space is clean and has everything you need. Lots of natural light is a bonus. Also, well located in a neighbourhood with lots to eat and drink and easy to get to and from. Definitely recommend! Hope to stay again soon.

  • Our stay at Jacquelyne's studio was wonderful! The studio is very clean and in a wonderful location. The house manual came in handy often and had a lot of great information in it. The studio had everything we needed during our stay. We will definitely consider this studio on our next visit.

  • Echo'ing the other reviewers - beautiful studio, easy key-free access, fantastic location with coffee across the street and easy street parking. Incredibly clean and more spacious than I had envisioned. Perfect crash pad for a Midtown visit.

Mark is easy to communicate with, very prompt and flexible. Hope to return here some day!

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. • Matt and Meredith were welcoming hosts and made themselves available to answer questions and offer advice during our stay in Hamtramck. The flat was very clean, comfortable and equipped with nice toiletries among other conveniences. The location was ideal for us - easy access to highways, downtown Detroit, Ferndale, etc. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

  • Matthew and Meredith were outstanding hosts. We had a wonderful time at their flat which is located in the most idea part of hamtramck. It was was decorated beautifully and gets outstanding light. They really made sure we had everything we needed for the perfect stay.

  • Such a great stay. Very friendly and great location

  • Although our stay was short and we didn't get a chance to meet, Matt and Meredith are gracious, communicative, and generous hosts. Check in was seamless, the place absolutely gorgeous, with thoughtful details throughout. They had a great guidebook of recommendations for the Detroit area, a bottle of wine for us, and we felt welcome, cozy, and relaxed. They are emblematic of a perfect Airbnb experience! I cannot recommend enough.

  • What a lovely spot! My husband and I stayed here for his birthday and it was absolutely perfect. We had lots of space and it was a good location for the dive-bar scene, which is what we were looking for. Matthew and Meredith were excellent hosts. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Cute apartment close to the city. Overall it was a great experience and we really enjoyed the Hamtramck culture. We felt completely safe and enjoyed walking to stores and restaurants in the neighborhood. The apartment was spacious and clean and we loved the homey touches.

  • The perfect hideaway that close to everything. The retro style is a throwback to a great era with the contemporary amenities of any high end hotel. Feels like you’re here to stay, get lost in the great lighting and walk the authentic community where you’ll never feel like a tourist.

Up north at its best! Stay in a custom cabin in the middle of Rocky Top Farms, a cherry orchard. Please read this listing completely!
Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place. Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering firelight. Shared outdoor 6 person hot tub. The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided. Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips. This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path. This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins. Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!!! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! We are located 15 minutes south of Charlevoix and 20 minutes north of Elk Rapids. Bellaire (home to Short's Brewery) is 20 minutes away. Traverse City is about 30 minutes to our south. See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. No public transport around here, sorry. You must have 4 wheel drive to visit the cabin in the winter.... Otherwise, prepare to hike about 1/4 mile to the cabin, and park at the barn. The water here is well- water. It isn't the city water you might be used to. It does have a yellowish cast because there are many tannins in it. The water has been tested, and is fine to drink. You may want to bring your own drinking water if are used to chlorinated water.
We love our rural neck of the woods! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. Our immediate neighbors consist of farmers, artists, a college professor, bee keepers, a massage therapist, a chef, an energy conservationist and a professional star-gazer_ truly! Our neighborhood is spread across many miles, but we are look out for each other and are friends.
  • This was a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the nature in the wintertime. The cabin is super cozy and warm, with the added available hot tub visit. My boyfriend and I had a fabulous time at this winter retreat!

    Jessie2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the little cabin exceeds all expectations. Nostalgia just oozes from every nook and cranny of this place! My husband and I went for my 30th birthday weekend, and we cannot wait to return for hopefully a longer stay. Heidi and Mike have thought of everything to make sure their guests are comfortable. The location was beautiful and quiet, and allows you to connect with the simpler side of life. If you're wanting to get away from the stressfulness of life, this is the place! We will be returning as soon as we can!

    Kate2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi made us feel welcome by leaving us a note and a jar of jam from Rocky Top Farms. The heat was on and stepping into the cabin from the cold was wonderful! Heidi responded to text questions immediately and was very approachable. The cabin was cozy and homey... and the outdoors was beautiful. We went for a long walk on Saturday and soaked in the hot tub at night. We really didn't want to leave! In fact, all I'm dreaming of building a little cabin in the woods of my own someday!

    Caitlin2015-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing weekend we had at the cabin! It was my 30th birthday, and my husbands 29th birthday that weekend and all we wanted was a nice weekend away! That is exactly what we got! Heidi was just so friendly and helpful when she greeted us! We did end up getting stuck/ snowed in on Saturday (heed the 4x4 warning!), but what more could we ask for? Cozy fire, hot tub, movies, games, wine, it was truly the best getaway! Mike came by later to check on us since he knew we were snowed in, and he was gracious enough to run us to the local grocery store to restock our food and wine supply! :) What great hosts, taking time out of their day to help us out! We got out fine in the morning, when everything had frozen over a bit, but you can bet we want to come back sometime in the summer and check out the local lakes and beaches from this prime location! The cabin was so clean and cozy and well stocked with whatever you needed. We loved how personal it was, having Heidi and Mike host us, rather than a stuffy hotel. They really thought of everything, from towels, to bathrobes, dishes, movies, books to read, firewood and kindling at the ready, they even let us borrow snowshoes to checkout the property! This is the way to travel, a very unique experience. Thank you Coopers for a great birthday weekend!!

  • We were welcomed by a jar of cherry perserves - which was very yummy! The directions wer great and the cabin was exactly what we were expecting!

    Amy2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. The cabin was very clean and it made for the perfect getaway.

    Rachel2014-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very rustic and quaint getaway! We stayed overnight while in town for a coworkers wedding, and this cabin definitely turned the trip into a memorable one. We kept looking at all of the details and design as inspiration to eventually build our own cabin one day.

    Darin2014-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi was an absolutely wonderful hostess, friendly and social but without any intrusion whatsoever. We owe special thanks for her husband for rescuing us from a snow storm on the way in. The farm is gorgeous and the cabin itself is cute, cozy, and clean. Couldn't be happier - we're already planning a return trip!

Log cabin on Grand Traverse Bay in beautiful Suttons Bay. Private beach. Super kid and dog friendly (extra dog fee applies). Grill, swim, read, cook, walk, hike, bike, wine taste and more...
Beautiful, fully-equipped beachfront log cabin on West Grand Traverse Bay. Lee Point is the place to be! Sleeps at least 8 (max 12) across 3 floors with 3 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, decorative fireplace, etc. The Beach: 150' of private West Bay beachfront for your use. Water is shallow (great for little swimmers/dogs) for a ways out. Beach toys, a few chairs and towels provided. We suggest aqua socks for little children given our own experience! There is a fire pit on the small bluff overlooking the water as well. The house: This is a traditional log cabin that is fully outfitted (towels, linen, cookware, etc) and furnished for comfort and a Northern Michigan vacation-style. 3 floors of space to sprawl, relax and enjoy. There's a very private deck off the back of the home. Linens and towels provided. Lower level bathroom completely remodeled and updated in December 2016. The indoor fireplace is only decorative. (please note!) The upstairs jacuzzi is permanently retired and not in use. Neither of these features are advertised as perks at the cabin, so please don't be disappointed that they are not available! Both are for the safety of our guests! *We are unable to accommodate weddings or special events due to insurance liability and facility requirements. Dogs welcome with an additional $25/day fee payable 1 week before check in. Please inquire with questions!
Location: located half mile off M-22, Lee Point is a quiet street made up of beaches, houses and local neighbors & vacationers. It's friendly, private and beautiful. It's a short trip into the charming village of Suttons Bay, and very close to the hustle and bustle of Traverse City and all it has to offer. We're a stone's throw from Black Star Farms as well! The house is located directly across from the private beach. Lee Point Road is generally very calm, but does pick up in the summer due to tourists and cherry season, so it is advised that children have an adult to cross over to the beach.
  • We had a wonderful time at the Beachfront home in Sutton's Bay. The home is beautiful and had a wonderful view of the Bay. Our host was excellent and did everything possible to make us feel welcome and our stay enjoyable. We especially appreciate the ability to take our dogs with us--they are part of the family and absolutely enjoyed the lake!

  • Really great place. Came up with four adults and two kids. The lake access is great and convenient and the house is really fun - a log cabin the lake (just as advertised). You’ll love it. Colleen is a great host and very, very responsive.

    Joseph2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Loved my stay at Colleen's log cabin! My friends and I were extremely comfortable and instantly fell in love with her home. We really hope to stay again!

    Vivian2015-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen and Sharon are wonderful and attentive hosts. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and has all the amenities you would need to stay comfortable and feel right at home. It snowed unexpectedly the first night we arrived, and Sharon quickly had a neighbor come to plow the driveway which was very thoughtful. We can not wait to go back in the summer time!

Floyd Gompf's cottage in Lakeside. A well equipped clean and comfortable cottage furnished with Floyd's famous furniture. Has a wood stove and really nice wrap around screen porch. There's plenty of parking. A short walk or ride to Lake Michigan Pier Ave. Beach. Warren Dunes is close by too. The house is bright and sunny and is surrounded by lots of mature trees and is located on a quaint and quiet dirt road. Two bedrooms, one has a queen size bed the other has a double. One bath with a Jaccuzzi bathtub. A clean simple well equipped kitchen, brand new stove and refrigerator. Farmers markets in Union Pier and Three Oaks on weekends. Greenbush Brewery in Sawyer. The cottage is close to many quaint small towns. Three Oaks, approximately six miles from the cabin offers antique shopping, galleries, a distillery, movie theater and several restaurants. Sawyer is home to Greenbush Brewery, and Mesa Luna a restaurant which features home grown fare, a grocery store, a clothing store in a former fire station and Sawyer Garden Shop, featuring, fresh produce, a great wine selection and gourmet foods.
  • I loved this place! Three old friends and I were looking for a little getaway in Lakeside, and Linda and Floyd's cottage was perfect. Once you pull up on the little dirt road and walk inside, you'll be basking in a really tasteful, quaint but elegant little home. There's really beautiful woodwork all over the place (I think Floyd made it all?)—it really is one of those places wherein every little touch is intentional and artistic. The enclosed wrap-around porch was super great, although it was still the tail end of winter so we didn't get to take full advantage of it. I definitely recommend this place. It's also just a short walk from the lake, and the Warren dunes are definitely worth checking out! Also, Floyd gave us a nice welcome upon arrival. I never met Linda face to face, but she was very responsive and accommodating via text messages.

  • Great artist cottage in a peaceful setting. Perfect spot for a summer retreat, right down the street from Warren Dunes Beach. Beautiful dunes and great trails. We went for a long hike in the Warren woods here and really enjoyed it, even this time of year. The cottage has a nice wood burning stove and great open kitchen for our family of 5. Loved it.

  • We had a wonderful and relaxing stay! The cottage was clean and bright and plenty of room for my husband, 2 small kids, and me. The surroundings were beautiful and we had everything we needed there. Linda and Floyd were great and recommended some restaurants and things to do. The cottage was decorated with their art which was neat and Floyd let my 3 year old and myself peek in his workshop. All in all, a wonderful stay and wonderful hosts!

    Megan2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time here, and will surely be back! In fact we found it hard to pry ourselves away from the cabin in order to enjoy the surrounding areas we were so relaxed and comfortable. Simply amazing!

    Jack2014-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a relaxing min (Email hidden by Airbnb) munication with Linda was a breeze and Floyd was working in his carpentry shop when we arrived, so we received a warm welcome. The place is clean and well stocked with all of the essentials. The decor is creative and quirky. We spent quite a bit of time at the beach down the road and borrowed the beach umbrella to keep ourselves shady. Muffins and coffee every morning at Nani's Cafe down the street, falafel at Cafe Gulistan, a little bonfire in the yard at night. Perfect setting for relaxing times. Thanks, Linda and Floyd--we'll be back!

Would definitely recommend for group gatherings. Had some issues with the starting the grill but was very quickly and smoothly resolved by Harriet. In addition it was super easy to communicate with her, she was a great host.

Scandinavian modern home within a wooded setting, convenient to the towns of Leland, Suttons Bay, Northport, and Lake Leelanau. Walk to lake access, hike the cherry orchards, explore local wineries, distilleries and farm markets.
The house comfortably sleeps 6 people, there are two queen beds and two twin beds. There are two full baths and a powder room. The master bath has the soaking tub while the second floor bath has a large shower. The simple euro style kitchen is well equipped for cooking and serving, complete with convection oven, gas cooktop, drawer dishwasher, and refridgerator/freezer. The windows and location gives the feeling of being in a very comfortable treehouse.
The Wayfarer is located between the neighboring home, a wooded area and cherry orchards. Within a short walk there is a very nice public access to Lake Leelanau, a great spot for daily swimming and sunsets. The public access even has a boat dock for meeting up with boating friends.
  • We had a wonderful and tranquil stay at the Wayfarer house. Sean has created a fantastic retreat, with a unique mid century design aesthetic that's set on a beautiful piece of property. We plan on coming again and definitely recommend the house to anyone looking for a peaceful northwestern Michigan experience.

    Taylor2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The 6 of us and a 2 year old had a very nice time in the Wayfarer. Tucked in the woods we had good access to small charming towns. Sean was responsive to our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Beds were great and the open kitchen and living area was an excellent feature of the house. Everyone had nice things to say about our experience. Lots of windows gave great visual to the outside.

    Roger2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We completely enjoyed being in Leelanau County. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We had difficulty staying warm and left early in the morning as the house was 54 degrees. Your home is adorable and in better weather would be easier to stay.

  • Minimalist cabin/home with ample space, tall ceilings, great layout and nice property in a wooded area.

  • I just stayed at the Wayfarer Treehouse with my family last weekend and we had the best time! The house was extremely clean with beautiful views and exactly what we were looking for. Also, Sean was the most accommodating and generous host we ever could have hoped for. I would most definitely rent this home again and highly recommend it to anyone who asks. We all had such a great time that we actually bought a Guest Book in Suttons Bay and left notes for future guests (my Aunt even wrote a poem) :)

  • First of all, Karl is a great host. My son booked this great place for a "senior citizen" trip that I took with my wife and our best friends to visit the campus of Notre Dame and see a football game. We needed sleeping arrangements for 5 and didn't want to sleep on a cot, couch, or air mattress. We also wanted to be within an hour of the campus. In our time at Karl's place, it felt great to get off the grid and relax. Karl's place delivered on all points. Karl recommended a place for us to grab a late dinner on the first night and it was great, as well. We plan to go back when we have more time to explore some of the great wineries in the region. Thanks Karl!

  • Great location for visiting the area - we were visiting family in Berrien Springs so it was very convenient. We went to Fernwoood Nature Center (about 20 minutes drive away) and Curious Kids Museum in St. Joseph (about 30 minutes drive away). The house is clean and well-equipped for your stay. Karl took care of the snow removal. We had a toddler with us and the house was great for him - no inside stairs, room to run around, and generally kid-friendly. Summer or Winter this location is ideal for visiting Southwest Michiana.

  • Karl was a great host!! Clean and beautiful home. Coming from the city we were looking for a quick relaxing getaway, and got just what we wanted. Karl was quick to advice us on the nearby stores and restaurants. We were able to check out a few restaurants and then come back with groceries for a home cooked meal, kitchen fully stocked! It was a great experience.

  • Karl was a great host. He was very accommodating and gave good suggestions about nearby attractions. He provided everything we needed. Karl lives in a separated basement of the house, but we still felt that we had our own space. We hardly noticed he was there, yet he was readily available when we needed help. He helped us start a bonfire and even let us borrow his guitar to play.

  • I enjoyed the yard and the entrance to the home, it's located near some wineries and about 20 minutes from the beach. We enjoyed using the grill and we took advantage of the kitchen to cook a much needed home cook meal. Unfortunately due to an iron allergy I was not able to use the bathroom to shower or brush my teeth. The water has high levels of iron which are damaging to clothes and dishes and tend to alter the taste of food when cooking. The house while clean smells metallic as a result of the water. I also smelled cigarette but because we were gone most of the time I made an effort not to let it bother me. My husband and my daughter enjoyed exploring the huge yard and watching deer and other critters. I enjoyed the view from the dinning area to the backyard, huge trees all around. Karl was very sweet to pick blueberries for us.

    Nina2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was an absolutely wonderful stay at Karl's place. Karl was a really good host, respectful and kind. The house was very well furnished and had thought about everything - the chromecast enabled tv was a plus as well. Karl started a fire for us outside and was super nice overall. I would happily recommend Karl's place for a quiet and relaxing getaway from the city.

  • Justin made check-in easy and was very prompt when we accidentally got locked out. The cottage is adorable and perfect for our family. The beds, including the futon in the living room, were very comfortable. The place is so close to several different beaches and downtown. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the back porch.

  • The arrival process was very smooth. You can't beat the location of this house. You can leave the car and walk to almost everything, which is good because there is a lot of traffic downtown. The beach is steps away!

  • Great location, literally blocks away from the main strip and beach! While walking to the beach, we also checked out the mushroom houses. The house was clean and it was perfect for 5 adults. Thanks for the great stay

  • We really enjoyed staying at Justin's cottage. It was close to downtown and the lake. Very clean and comfortable. We had a small issue with the Wi-Fi called the number for Amber. She not only responded but came over and fixed the problem with in an hour. I would rent this property again.

    Joel2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful cottage felt more spacious than it appears in the photos. Very cozy and a few hundred feet from the nicest beach (Michigan Beach Park) we experienced in our entire Michigan vacation. Super close to town also. Overall completely satisfied with our stay!

    Donny2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, close to main tourist street.

    Emily2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonder time stay in Charlevoix at Justin's house. We drove to Charlevoix to revisit my old childhood vacation spot. The house was located within walking distance to the grocery store and the cute Charlevoix shops and restaurants. We immediately felt at home when we opened the door. The house very very clean and comfortable. We spent our days walking around Charlevoix and Petosky, playing golf and biking on the Little Traverse Wheelway. In the evening, we came back to the house and cooked dinner and relaxed. Justin had a big TV where we watched our favorite shows on Netflix. It was such a cute house, we didn't want to leave. We would definitely come back again!

Beautiful land, rustic, comfortable home, quiet & private! Take a hot tub at sunset looking out over property, cook in our great kitchen; have a campfire at night. Oh yeah, really nice bedrooms w/sliding glass doors. Listen to the wind thru pines.
Our four-season dwelling is on 4 acres of gardens, pines, and ponds. One small Japanese pond, and a really big pond out back which goes up and down with the river. That's the Galien River which is at the west end of the property. A very comfortable hot tub (2 seater and great jets!) is just outside one of the bedrooms on the porch with a lovely view of the land. It feels like more than 4 acres because there are blueberry fields all around and you can't see or hear any of the neighbors. We have 40 mature organic blueberry bushes ourselves which are free for the picking from July-Sept. There is a pet fee of $20/night. The home has 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen size bed and a small sofa bed. The other bedroom has a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that can connect or not. In the living room is a long sofa bed that folds down to become a full bed. Really comfortable. We also have two Queen size raised air beds which can be set up in the living room, in a big a 4-person tent outside in the summer, or on the porch. 2 bathrooms, one with a marble walk-in shower and the other with an old fashioned laid-back bathtub. And- a fantastic record collection of Classic Jazz and Modern Classical albums! Home has a beautiful kitchen with a big stainless steel refrigerator, great stove, lots of cooking tools and lots of space for creating great meals. Plus a few Weber BBQ's outside for grilling. All rooms have sliding glass doors looking out to the whole property. The big screen porch (14'x26') is great. We eat and even watch TV out there, which is a LEDHD TV. (Streaming available) - Or play the piano? The house is all wireless, ceiling fans in all the rooms and on porch, and air conditioning/central heat. Great for a romantic and peaceful getaway, a small wedding, honeymoon, family reunions or small retreat groups. Three Oaks is only 90 minutes from Chicago in beautiful Harbor Country, with sparkling beaches, art galleries, great restaurants, dunes and hiking trails. Sometimes we love the winter even more than the summer out here...with the cozy fireplace and tons of firewood at your disposal- or use the fire pit and have a campfire outside. You can even cross-country ski right out back and down the little slope to the river! You will not want to leave when you're here. No one does.
Since I've been here for almost 30 years, I know all my neighbors and we're all good friends. I've always felt very safe in this neighborhood. Everyone looks out for each other. (It's a good way to live.)
  • This was my second trip back to the Blueberry Fields House. Just as lovely in May as it is in August. I enjoyed the hot tub, cozy bed, nighttime frog serenades and longs walks. Always a respite and always a place to look forward to again and again!

    Katie2014-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a four-day get-away from Chicago, Blueberry Fields is perfect. In the middle of Michigan farmland, halfway between Sawyer (stop at The Greenbush Brewery for local beer) and Three Oaks (we bought some art at a local gallery), Donna's place was just what we were looking for. It is home that reflects Donna's personality, A vegetable garden, an expansive lawn, two ponds, a branch of the Galien River on the far end, a hot tub, a porch swing and the occasional deer. I don't know. What are you waiting for?

    Fred2013-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous little getaway at Donna's place in Michigan. Her space is amazing-- very serene and beautiful. Our dogs didn't want to come home to the city! Donna was a fantastic host-- was happy to give us suggestions on things to eat and do in the area to enjoy ourselves, but not at all intrusive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a pet-friendly escape within a couple hours drive of Chicago.

    Brynn2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and a group of my friends stayed at Blueberry Fields for my bachelorette party. Donna is a fantastic host. Her communication was excellent and she made us feel so comfortable. She really is a sweetheart. The house was clean, charming and came equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. This is one of the coziest and most beautiful properties I've ever had the pleasure of renting. I would highly recommend Blueberry Fields to anyone who needs a relaxing getaway with friends or alone.

    Ashley2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Donna is magic. Blueberry Fields is an oasis. Her home is filled with positive energy and inspiration. I came here looking for a quick getaway, but this place is timeless and it takes you into its arms and embraces you with nature and peace, thoroughly healing your demented city soul. But really, you can't ask for more: the best hot tub in the world, comfortable living & sleeping spaces, wonderfully stocked kitchen, and best of all, a screened porch you can spend your whole day & night in. If you need to get some work done, that is the place to do it. If you like birding, bring your binoculars and take daily walks down to the river, or just sit still in the porch and wait for the birds to come and say hello. During the day, there are nearby trails, parks and beaches to explore. And when dinner approaches, local breweries, stores and butcher shops offer up the best local ingredients to cook with. We found Satie's 3 Gymnopedies in Donna's piano bench and sat down to play for the first time in ages. You will have everything you need here. Just not enough time!

    Liz2015-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at Donna's beautiful Blueberry Fields. It was the perfect relaxing Bachelorette weekend. The property surrounded the home is gorgeous and the hot tub is delightful! There are many unique art pieces inside the home, and it seemed like we noticed something new each time we entered! A lovely place to unwind, unplug and enjoy the company of whoever you happen to be travelling with. Donna was a delight to meet. We were looking for a cab service for the evening, and it took her no time at all to help us find the information we needed. Overall I would absolutely stay here again! Thanks for everything, Donna :)

    Ashley2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We went to Donna 's place for a girls weekend. It was fabulous. Donna was an amazing host and kept in touch whenever we needed anything. We will definitely be back!

    Dannah2015-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the nicest weekends of my entire life. From the gardens to the pond to the river to the house to the hot tub to the awesome kitchen this was the exact retreat I needed. With a close accessibility to the beach as well as cute downtown shopping this place was made for me. Donna was an awesome host she really loves her land and wants to share this experience with all. It will be in annual retreat for me from here on out.

This second- story, custom built cabin in the middle of a cherry orchard has huge windows that allow for great natural light. Polished concrete countertops and floors with radiant heat. Sleeps 6. One bath. Shared hot tub. Large decks. Basic kitchen. Please read this listing completely.
Up north at its best! The Treehouse sits on a pond among the birch and pines in a working cherry orchard. Built by my husband and me, with a whole lot of help from many friends, it clearly has love in the details. Large windows bring the daylight in and allow for dreamy star- gazing - maybe even the northern lights! Six person outdoor hot tub is shared with the cabin also on property. Locally made art. Big garden. Access to trails for hiking, groomed cross- country ski trails, and mountain biking all around the orchard and ponds. Minutes to Lake Michigan and Torch Lake beaches. The cabin makes a great getaway for couples and families. There is a sleeping loft which can sleep four and a private bedroom which sleeps two. Limited kitchen has a smart oven, countertop two burner range, microwave, sink, coffee maker, electric frying pan and refrigerator. The Treehouse can be rented in conjunction with The Cabin at Rocky Top Farms. Towels and linens are provided. You must have four- wheel drive to access the Treehouse in the winter, or plan to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn. Please note! This is a cabin and not a traditional treehouse! We don't mean to mislead with the name- The Treehouse is what we have always called it. *Please read this listing entirely!
We adore our very rural neighborhood! Just a couple miles from both Torch Lake and Lake Michigan-beaches abound! Ask us about our favorite spots. Hiking and paddling opportunities are plentiful. We are not far from XC, downhill skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Rocky Top Farms is centrally located between Traverse City and Petoskey. We are located just off 31N. Our nearest towns are Elk Rapids, Bellaire, and Charlevoix, and East Jordan. The closest villages are Torch Lake, Ellsworth, and Central Lake. There are so many things to check out while visiting- or- just laze around the farm!
  • Fun cute cabin that had plenty of space. You can tell a lot of hard work went into it to make it so cozy!

    Darius2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I spent a lovely few days in the beautiful Treehouse in March. Heidi and her family have built and maintain a very special retreat on their property that can be enjoyed at any time of year! There are so many unique touches that give a feeling of care, and at the same time relaxation and fun! Speaking of care, Heidi could not be a more caring host. The Treehouse is immaculate and she is attentive from start to finish, very genuine in wanting to make sure all is well along the way. It's always appreciated to meet and do business with people who are fair and honest - and also generous and kind! Highly recommend staying at Rocky Top Farms at any time of the year. So nice to have many good options while there too: to "just be" in the Treehouse, or to explore the farm, or venture out further to many nearby great places in up north MI! Can't wait to return!

    Rachel2016-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I stayed at this property. It is a lovely place. Bonfire and hot tub under the stars is all I wanted in an up-north trip. The communication with my hosts was easy and they quickly responded to any needs. The cherry butter that was left for us at check-in was the proverbial cherry-on-top to a perfect trip! Thanks Heidi and Mike.

    Christopher2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 3 day visit at the Treehouse! Fun accommodations in a pretty setting. We had room for the 4 of us comfortably, and really enjoyed the heated floors with the snowy cold weather outside. The hot tub was a nice treat each night as well.

    Jason2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely amazing. Although it was cold we found plenty of things to do in the towns nearby and explored around the area. The heated floors are really a nice plus when first coming in. The place comes with really everything you could need and more such as the tv which we used barely on time. The hot tub is really close and we took advantage of it, their really is nothing like being in a hot tub when it is snowing outside with only a 20 second walk back the house! This Treehouse I really believe is a hidden gem in an amazing location. Highly recommended and I will surely return.

    Tyler2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Though we did not see Heidi during our stay, she was very kind and hospitable. Beforehand, she was willing to go the extra mile to make sure our large group had everything we needed to be comfortable. Her accommodations were well equipped and perfect for our groups situation.

    Kevin2015-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place for families, as the farm provides more than ample opportunity to roam and adventure. It is tucked away, yet fairly close to nearby towns and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.

    Marcus2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for a beautiful stay. We loved every moment staying here. The cabin was spacious and very comfortable. Great walking, beautiful orchards, canoeing, deer sightings and hot tubing of course. I can't say enough great things about the place. The hosts were very helpful with suggestions of beaches and great restaurants to go to. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some peaceful time away. Loved it so much.

Charming loft space in quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown shopping and dining. Close to beaches, ski resorts and cultural attractions. Over detached garage--very private--come and go as you please. Perfect for couple or (very) small family.
Very clean. Simply and tastefully furnished. Plenty of natural light, wood flooring. One bedroom with queen-size bed. Sofa (not a pull-out) in the sitting room can provide extra sleep space. No kitchen, but space is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Flat-screen TV. Cable and wifi access. Please visit the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce website for more information on the area.
  • Cozy and quaint loft conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Petoskey!!!! We highly recommend this to anyone who is going to be visiting the area. This was our first airbnb experience and the bar has been set extremely high now! Andrea was extremely personable and made the process easy. Thank you!!!

  • Everything about Andrea's loft was above and beyond our expectations. It was the coziest little apartment that was beautifully decorated with a lot of character, and clean! Andrea thought of everything; she provided coffee and snacks, toothpaste, cotton balls, etc. We felt like we were at home on vacation. I would highly recommend this loft for a great stay in Petoskey. We will be back!

Welcome to Esther House. We took a 1930's catalog vacation cabin and turned it into an inviting 2 bedroom retreat home. We are steps to the Spring Lake Beach and Village, bike paths, a 2.5 mile bike or car ride to the beaches of Grand Haven.
This charming, fully rehabbed 2 bedroom home makes for the perfect getaway, and the best alternative to a Hotel/Motel in the area. Although the footprint of Esther house is small, we offer 1100 sq ft of comfort over the basement, main level and lofted bedroom, designed with easy and comfortable living in mind. A fully stocked custom kitchen with high-end appliances, granite breakfast bar and an open plan to the cozy living/dining room. Small dinette table seats four. The living room has a comfortable sofa, reading chair and 42" TV. No cable, but its hooked up to stream all your favorites. In the basement we have a brand new bedroom with a queen sized bed, nightstands and dresser. A separate utility area with washer/dryer. Nice and quite fenced back yard with a cement patio.
The home is located in historic Strawberry Pointe area of Spring Lake, Michigan. The area is littered with these small cabins that once served as hunting and fishing vacation homes in the 30's, 40's and 50's. We are walking distance to the Spring Lake public beach, the expansive bike trails of the area and to the Village Baker (a must visit for great baked goods, fantastic brunch and dinners, as well as a great cup of coffee!!)

  • The house is located on a quiet street just a short walk to the lake. There is also a nice walking path which is part of the Old Grand Trunk RR line just at the other end of the street. A very nice place to stretch your legs after a meal. Access to the village and surrounding area is quick and simple. The house itself is nicely updated and the heated floor in the bathroom is a nice treat for your feet. The beds are comfortable just watch your head on the low ceiling in the upstairs one. Frederick provided us with all the info we needed to enter the property and things to do in the surrounding area. All in all it was a nice place to escape to for the weekend.

    Steven2016-10-02T00:00:00Z

Country getaway! Located 1/2way between 2 small towns: Pinckney and Howell. Near Nature and Recreation areas. Our place is secluded and along a private road - but shopping restaurants and highway for commute are only 10 minutes away. Only 1/2 hour -45 minutes to Downtown Ann Arbor and University of Michigan. Our Private Lake (no public launch) is GREAT for fishing, swimming, kayak and canoeing. Birds and wildlife abound. Peace and quiet given and expected! Available all year round - in the winter there is skiing nearby - either cross country or downhill. Four bedroom and 4 full baths, fireplace, open floorplan with open kitchen/great room with vaulted ceiling, wrap-around deck and wrap around patio off walk-out finished basement. Fully furnished and well-appointed kitchen. Laundry room, game room stocked with card and board games, bookshelves full of books, 2 TVs with DVD players and large movie collection (no cable TV and NO INTERNET service unless you bring your own hotspot via cell phone.) We also have a firepit with sit-upon logs for roasting marshmallows or weenies.. We have a shore area, 2 rowboats, a 4-person paddleboat, and a 2-person kayak for exploring the private 82-acre lake.
Rural location for those wishing for a place "off the beaten path" and surrounded by nature. I do have neighbors, but am on almost 2 acres nestled into the side of a hill, along a private road, with 200ft lakefront on small sleepy lake. Our little private road is paved, but narrow. No parking on the street, plenty of parking in my long driveway, 4-6 cars easily.
  • What a beautiful house and lake. I would recommend staying at this house to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

    Douglas2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great and true to the listing details, and the property was beautiful and quiet - a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Susan was easy to get in touch with prior to our visit, and made us feel right at home when we arrived.

    Jenn2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Susan's place a couple years ago and when we needed a place for this year it was a no brainer to rent it again. She's the most gracious, accommodating, and attentive AirBnB host we've ever had. We hope to rent her place again!

    Vince2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, amazing fishing for the kids, and a great place to get away from the rat race for a spell! Plenty of room for the 9 of us. Still close to shopping, restaurants, and anything else one could want or need. We loved our stay!

    Jason2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Recently my girlfriends and I had a girls weekend at her cottage and we had a WONDERFUL time. Susan is VERY accommodating and the property is perfect for a get away. I was running late getting to the property and she waited for me hours after I was supposed to arrive to show me around. That was really amazing. The only thing we were a little disappointed with was the beach, as the plants and grass were overgrown and the water had a lot of seaweed (something that might not bother others, and only a minor thing to us), but all in all I highly recommend staying here. I know I'll be back!

    Brittany2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This home and property was amazing. Much beyond what we expected. The house was clean and complete with anything you could possibly need. The property was totally awesome. Would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to experience a wonderful getaway. The lake and fishing were great. We had day and night fires down by the lake. Totally relaxing.

We wanted a laid back, family vacation, and the house had a joined kitchen and living room, a big TV in the basement, no internet (which helped us bond better), and the lake was a blast to boat and swim in. The interior of the house was fancifully decorated. The views of the lake, the grass, and the woods helped us relax. Susan was helpful and professional.

  • The house is exactly as advertised, and our family had a lovely week.

This private studio suite acquires the best area of our 100+ year old house. A modified parlor and sunroom with traditional glass windows overlook historic Heritage Hill. Minutes from downtown, you'll be able to experience the best of Grand Rapids!
Our private studio suite is located within what we jokingly call the "East Wing" of our 100+ year old home. It has its own front door and is locked off from the rest of the house, so you'll be able to rest at ease knowing that you won't be sharing with others. Traditional glass windows wrap around the sunroom, creating a perfect place to drink coffee in the morning and sit on the couch while the sun sets. The suite offers a full kitchen and bathroom with a queen size bed.
Our neighborhood is part of the historical Heritage Hill district of Grand Rapids. Home owners in this area go to great lengths to keep up to code to preserve the aesthetics of this old neighborhood. A half block away is the Meyer May House designed by Frank Llyod Wright and is considered Michigan's Prairie masterpiece.
  • Clean and comfortable apartment in a beautiful area of Grand Rapids. Cody was easy to communicate with and I would stay here again!

  • Great place! Separate entrance/wing in a cool historical house. Clean and had everything we needed! It's a beautiful neighborhood and we enjoyed walking to the nearby restaurants and bars (10-20 min depending on where you go). Thanks!

  • From the moment we arrived I was despairing the moment we'd have to leave. An excellent home. Sean's keen esthetics, attention to detail, and generous spirit exceed all expectations.

    Emily2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second extended stay at Sean's Farmhouse. It is simply one of my favorite places. The Farmhouse is perfectly situated on its land, and the land has a certain energy, a flow, that is very appealing. It is a beautiful treasure that I hope you visit again and again.

    Maria2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • From the second we drove up to Sean's place we were all in awe of his beautifully decorated house, set on the middle of a country road with literally no neighbors. It was SO relaxing. The house was immaculate and there was an amazing porch that we hung out on every night we were there. Sean's house made me want to move up north....and own a goat farm. Anyway - my friends and I are obsessed with his house - you should stay there sometime. I will definitely be back!

    Laura2012-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Sean's house and it was, once again, absolutely perfect. Everything single detail was anticipated and taken care of for us. We were able to relax with friends, explore Leelanau and cook amazing meals. This is the sort of place that makes any other Airbnb look disappointing. We will return year after year!!

    Emily & Ian2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • You simply can't ask for more! I'll return to Sean's Northport farmhouse again and again because it's beautiful, comfortable, and exceedingly enjoyable every time. If you like to cook and enjoy a meal at the fireside, this place is for you. Also, I sleep like a baby in the perfect bedrooms of this house. Restfulness is guaranteed. And great water pressure to boot!

    James2013-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was my family's second time we stayed at Sean's farmhouse. It's such a special, magical place--peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. We had a perfect week and enjoyed many things about the property--chickens, the view from the top of the hill, endless hours on the hammock and bonfires for s'mores. It's so hard to leave! I appreciate Sean sharing his little piece of paradise with us.

    Melissa2014-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to get away from it all! Sean's house is located in an idyllic rural setting, yet close to shopping and restaurants. The house has everything that vacationers could ask for. The nice white robes waiting for each one of us was so thoughtful and appreciated. We had some dodgy weather, but we were able to have a cookout and watch the sunset from the top of the hill. Loved seeing the chickens roaming around outside and their babies under the warming lamp. I would absolutely stay here again.

    Ann Marie2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Farmhouse. Sean has excellent style, and the house has everything you need. We came to check out the sauna, and bike the area. The views from the bluff are wonderful night and day. Plan a small wedding party here, the atmosphere is perfect, lighted dance space, garden, and fire pits. We hope to come back in the winter!

The Grand Mere Coach House is in an eclectic neighborhood surrounded by Lake Michigan, small lakes, and sand dunes. Grand Mere Park is a year around beautiful place for walking, cross country skiing, and sledding. The family room and kitchen face Lake Michigan with lots of windows. The house has a queen bedroom, queen pullout in family room, and laundry. A bird feeder adds to the charm. There is also a HOT TUB located on the back patio directly on Lake Michigan, behind the main house.
The coach house is on the Lake with a view of Lake Michigan and normally a beach. It has a full kitchen a living room with a queen pullout and a queen bedroom and bath. Grand Mere State Park is very close containing 600 acres of dunes, trails and several thousand feet of beach. Note: Lake Michigan is currently at very high levels and we have to access the beach from the public beach 100' to the south. The beach is still walkable all of the way to the south into the state park.
Grand Mere is an eclectic neighborhood in between Lake Michigan and 2 inland lakes. Grand Mere State Park containing 600 acres of lakes and dunes is next (website hidden). Joseph, New Buffalo, and wine country are within 15 minutes.
  • Great lil spot. Right on water which is way cool. Hot tub is clutch. Its right behind his house (he was out of country in Berlin) which was nice privacy, not sure how we would have felt if he was home. But very clean, well taken care of. Lacking basic cooking ingredients/items (no oil, or aluminum foil or things like that). But all cookware was great. Bed is nice. Only netflix but was nice. Overall great spot!

    Quinn2016-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a wonderful stay at the house on Lake Michigan. John was a wonderful host, the house is right on Lake Michigan, the views are spectacular, the beach is nearby, the premises were clean and John made us feel welcome. John was very flexible with the check-in and check-out times and this was very convenient when traveling with kids. We only wish we could have stayed longer and we already made plans to go back in the near future!

    Ana2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at John's place! It was cozy, comfortable and easy to find. John checked in with us once or twice a day as we were coming and going, and made sure we had everything we needed. The view from the fire pit was stunning, and we'd recommend this place to anyone.

    Linda2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and comfortable and although there were other homes close by it was very quiet. Great views from the back patio at the main house. Lots to do very close by. We would definitely consider staying there again.

    David2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous location, clean house and wonderful views. However, it is very close to the occupied main house and its neighbors. You sometimes feel like you are intruding on others while just attempting to relax. The hot tub and fire pit are in front of the main property and there is no way to access the private beach. The public beach just down the road is extremely small. It is not within walking distance of anything other than the state park if that is what you are looking. Very difficult to find in the dark when have not been there before.

    Amy2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • THIS IS A MUST STOP! John's place was phenomenal, it was so clean and easy to get to. The location is beautiful and so peaceful, if we make it back out to the are we will definitely be requesting this house! We actually wish we had more than one night here!

    Ashley2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place was great. John was extremely welcoming and his carriage house was exactly as described. My husband and I spent our 1-year anniversary here and would definitely stay here again. The only downfall was that their was no private beach as the water is 3 1/2 feet higher than usual. However the public beach access is within walking distance so we had no problem walking over to it. All in all - a great trip!

    Erin2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in John’s coach house and were happy overall. The space is so clean and bright, and the bed is hotel-level comfortable, with fresh white bedding and plenty of pillows. The proximity to the beach and state park/dunes is amazing, and the neighborhood is really cute. Our one disappointment: we were informed after arrival that other guests were renting the bottom floor of the main house, and that, like us, they were “pretty interested” in the hot tub. While we appreciate the communal aspect of Airbnb, we chose John’s place specifically for the hot tub and for the sense of privacy and calm implied by the posting. Since the hot tub and fire pit are situated just steps from the very well lit, big-windowed bottom floor, making use of them felt very much like we were intruding on someone else’s space, which made it hard to relax. I’m sure this wouldn’t bother everyone, but we would have chosen another place if we knew we’d be sharing key amenities with other visitors. Aside from this lack of advance notice about the other guests, we really liked our stay.

Heart of Downtown TC on Union Street at the corner of Union and State! This Rustic Modern Loft is located just behind front street, only a block from the beach and everything that downtown Traverse City has to offer. Restaurants, festivals, coffee shops, movie theaters, you name it.
This iconic 130 year old building was once home to a printing press. Its towering brick walls stand 12 feet tall and were hand made using clay that is unmistakable to our area, from the waters of Cedar Lake just west of Downtown. The tasteful renovation included the restoration of the original old growth maple floors throughout, plus the repurposing of historic doors, windows, fixtures, and local barn wood beams and boards, as well as many custom pieces from local artisans.
This block is in the heart of downtown, set less than a block behind Front Street on Union. Multiple restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and all sorts of retail are within just a few steps out the door.

Our neighborhood is called, "SoFo" because it is the area in town Traverse City south of 14th Street. Located at the edge of a quiet residential area with a grocery store, ice cream shop, whiskey tasting room, brewery, bagel shop, party store and some simple take out places: sushi, pizza, Chinese and sandwiches. We're only 4 blocks to Old Town and 1 miles to Downtown Traverse City.
  • Marta's house was lovely. Myself and two friends needed a place to go and work on a long weekend with no distractions. We decided on Marta's home and it was exactly as it was pictured on the site. It was European in style and the beds were incredibly comfy. We loved the huge fenced in yard and were jealous that we hadn't come in the summer because the deck, chairs and fire pit would have been so much fun to be around, maybe next time. I was concerned about some reviews that were worried about the house being shared but let me tell you that we had no problem. Someone was staying in the basement but all you heard was some laughing. Everyone was very respectful and I felt very, very safe. And it wasn't anything like hotel or motel rooms with noise. I would recommend this house very much.

    Danielle2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I really liked staying at SoFo house! We stayed there for a wedding weekend and it was much better than being crammed in a hotel room. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch in the morning and playing board games while it rained. Plenty of room for all of our guests!

    Emily2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay here. Communication with Marta was easy, and the house is a cozy, well-appointed one. Perfect for travelers with pets.

    Kelsey2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic and well-managed. I definitely would recommend this to all of my friends visiting Traverse City.

  • Everything about our stay at the SoFo Place was easy! Marta has absolutely everything and more to accomodate for a great stay in Traverse City. The listing was as described, the neighborhood happened to be within walking distance from one of our destinations and convenient all other destinations. We didn't have the chance to meet the host, but she made us feel at home nonetheless!

    Deanna2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Well designed and cozy. A short drive into town (at least in winter snow, but I bet the bikes would make it easy to get around without getting in a car). Very spacious: three bedrooms, each with a queen bed was perfect for a group. I would love to stay here again!

    Emily2018-01-03T00:00:00Z

Me, my husband, my in-laws, and my two children spent five nights at Jack’s place, and we created many great memories around his dining room table after preparing food using his state-of-the-art cooktop. Most afternoons we took a chilly walk on the path by the lake, and enjoyed the wildlife (deer and birds) that would wander into the yard throughout the day. I don’t have a lot of experience using AirBnB, and Jack has definitely set the bar very high for both timely communication and thoughtful touches and amenities in his home. If you are looking for a quiet spot conveniently located near the University of Michigan and downtown Ann Arbor Jack’s place should top your list. Thanks, Jack!” Alyssa

  • Jack's house is very lovely with a nice kitchen/entertaining area. It's in a very quiet area but close to Ann Arbor. I was disappointed by the size of the lake and ease to get kayaks into the water. I would not recommend this house if you're looking for a lake weekend.

  • You can tell when people get involved with airbnb for some extra cash vs when they do it because they have a genuine love of hosting. Jack definitely falls into the latter category. It was the best airbnb experience I have ever had. The house was gorgeous, fully stocked, and an excellent deal. I would recommend 100%

  • Jack was the most pleasant Airbnb host we have ever worked with. We were in town for a special occasion (our son's senior recital in cello at U of M) and the house was the perfect place for us to get ready and enjoy family time together. Jack thought of every detail-he left beautiful fresh flowers for us and there was delicious yogurt and sparking water in the fridge. There is an amazing suite on the ground level, which is almost like a private apartment. The house is in a great location for walking and being in nature. We were very grateful that Jack offered extra time to check out. Great experience! We wish we could have stayed all week.

    Deb2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was a terrific host. He went over and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Even though the power was out because of a storm, I didn't feel uncomfortable when entering the dark house. He helped us with what we needed in a situation that couldn't be helped. Thanks so much, Jack! You have a beautiful home and we are grateful you would share it with us.

  • I love Mully and Deb's cabin! It was an excellent getaway before the upcoming semester. My wife and I slept comfortably and loved being in the woods. There was a certain tranquility to the cabin and surrounding area. Highly suggest this to anyone looking to disconnect from the world for a bit.

    Daniel2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint, intimate haven on the best trail in SE Michigan. The space is quiet, the surroundings are beautiful. Even the sheets smell fresh and sweet. Deb and Mully are gracious hosts and serve local, organic, gorgeous meals. I found solitude in the cabin and on the trail. Best of all, I was fortunate one morning to see two white-tailed deer.

    Kim2013-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mully and Deb were very gracious hosts! The meals were beyond wonderful and the setting of the cabin was great. We hiked the Lakeview Trail behind the cabin, a very interesting and not-too-rigorous one mile long trail. The wood burning stove added to the ambiance of the natural setting, and promoted reflection and relaxation.

    John2014-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mully and Deb's place is more than you will expect and then some, those two are wonderful people and truly know hospitality! Great Location and I look forward to visiting it again this fall!

    Robert2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay with Mully and Deb and it was just as lovely as the first. The cabin is a secluded sanctuary from the city and in an beautiful location. Mully and Deb are the perfect hosts - they are so friendly and welcoming, and as before, the breakfast was amazing! We will be back!

    Jessica2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We do rustic quite often, but this was certainly a step up. And that was great for a change! The breakfasts were amazing as well!

    Autumn2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mully and Deb were the most gracious and respectful of hosts. Hanuman's cabin was absolutely lovely, quiet, warm, and actually more spacious than the pictures suggest. Any trepidations about the lack of electricity and running water, as well as the "humanure" toilet were completely dispelled upon arrival; any needs in these regards were fully anticipated. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and special attention to dietary restrictions was appreciated! It's a real sanctuary and I hope to return again in another season, even as the being there in the middle of winter was magical.

    Deirdre2015-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem is well exactly as described and proved to be the perfect retreat for me. I live only an hour away in the city grid and the hideaway was nestled in the woods...off grid yes, but rustic no, it was like a cozy bedroom in the woods ! The Woodstove was easy to use and the bed was super comfy with flannel sheets, the breakfast was OMG delicious and prepared with skill and love and strong flavorful coffee ; ) however if you stay here and don't take advantage of the trails you are missing half of the beauty. Right outside the cabin is access to many trails and so many wonderful views. Deer, birds and pristine Michigan wetlands! Mully and Deb put a lot of love and care into this space and I am so glad to have found it...I know if they'll have me I'll be back!

  • Sally is a GREAT host! The cottage was exactly as described and just a short drive to Petoskey. Sally had great communication with us. She went above and beyond by having a bonfire ready for us at night. I would highly recommend Sally's cottage.

The location was a short drive to the downtown area. You can't beat a night cap in the jacuzzi! Great value overall... We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • Sally was great! Very welcoming, nice, and open minded! The unit was great - it was an especially hot weekend and the AC unit did a great job of cooling us off and was a great place to relax. Thanks for everything! Highly recommend! Boyne City is beautiful, and this cottage is just a short couple minute drive from Lake Charlevoix and everything the city has to offer.

  • We were looking for a short weekend getaway at Boyne Mountain, and Sally's Cottage was the perfect fit. Even though we were running late on out check in time, she was kind enough to work with us and made sure we got in safe. Her cozy cottage was the perfect place to come back to after a cold day on the mountain and the perfect size for 2 couples to hang out and relax! Would definitely visit again!

  • Went there this past weekend with friends for off road fun, was a bit worried as this was a very first time using Airbnb but it couldn't be any better as far as I am concerned. Michelle made a phone call to make sure we are doing ok with directions and made herself available for any questions that I had. We found cabin clean and furnished with all necessary items and more. Wished that we could stay another day , definitely coming back with family next time and planning longer stay. Will recommend to all my friends!!!

Michelle makes the entire process simple and Marsha does very well to keep things smooth. A must-visit for a proper Upper Peninsula visit.
