“Beer is served in a frozen fish bowl sized goblet. Get your chicken fried steak smothered in gravy with homestyle veggies. Tasty bar food or huge salads if you want to save calories for more beer. If you know Pat Green this is the bar he sings about! ”

“Live Music Capital of Waco. Tour busses line the street most weekends with legendary and up and coming artists. Always easy to see the stage and plenty of bars scattered around so the lines are never too long. Check out their calendar on-line for upcoming acts. The food is really good. Try the chicken strips. (the batter has frosted flakes in it)”

Bakery
“If you are interested in authentic greek & mediterranean food this is the place for you. Alpha Omega is unreal, not only that, but their food is so reasonably priced. It is 100% a top pick for us in Waco. This local restaurant rocks!”

“If you can't find a beer you like at this place...drink tea. There's a wall of taps (like 60 but I can't count). Let's just say there's a lot! Grab a pint and hit the pool tables, shuffleboard, giant jenga or darts. TV's are everywhere for live sports. And beer. It's downtown. So while she shops, hide out at Crickets. ”

“Bare Arms brewing rocks! Really good beers, nice atmosphere, super attentive and cool brewmasters. Try the flight for a full tour. Tried also the breakfast brew and it was awesome too. The coolest part is if you want your beer to go they can it and label it before your eyes.”

Wine Shop
“We are fortunate to have David Mayfield as a Wacoan, he is an extremely knowledgeable importer of wine from all over the world, and his local Wine Shoppe offers super unique and excellent wine by the and the glass in a laid back and informative atmosphere. Super helpful staff and nice back patio for when the weather is nice!”

“First, the Grape Wine Bar is in Waco, not Marlin. We don't have anything like it in Marlin. They usually have music on the weekends - check their website. In addition to a very well stocked wine bar, they have pretty good high end food. Their food service can be spotty so be prepared to have an extra glass of wine and enjoy the company of those you're with. Overall, I have enjoyed it and recommend it.”

“Rather high end (for Waco), but not pricey. They try to claim that they are fine dining, but we don't agree. Still, we enjoyed going whenever we have.”
