Note: We are building a tumbleweed tiny house out behind the cottage. Don't worry, we'll work around your comings and goings and try to make hammering and sawing noises only while you are gone! Your peace and quite is important to us. :-) If you are interested in learning more about the whole tiny house movement, come on back and take a look! • Perfect for 1 to 4 guests (an inflatable air mattress also available for extra guests). New 2016 Satvaa ultra-premium, eco-friendly luxury firm queen bed downstairs (your slice of heaven). New Sealy Queen mattress up in the loft. Note: There are a couple things left to do in the cottage - I'm building some nice shelves in the bathroom and kitchen area to install in the near future. Nearby Restaurants & Breweries - Hop in your car or on your bike and ride just 5-7 min. to Eugene's newest hot spot, the “Barmuda Triangle" located in the Whiteaker neighborhood ("Esquire" calls it "the weirdest neighborhood in America!"), with its renowned breweries and lots of eating adventure, like Tacovore, Papa Soul Food Kitchen (Dinners Drives & Dives Show), The Board, Chao Pra Ya Thai Cuisine, Vanilla Jill's frozen yogurt, Mame, Laughing Planet Café, Sweet Life Patisserie, Cornbread Café (Dinners, Drives & DIves show), Noli Ristorante Italiano, Fisherman's Market, Ninkasi Brewing, Hop Valley Brewing Co., Grit, New Day Bakery, Sam Bonds Garage and many more! Within a few blocks walk from the cottage are several restaurants including Govinda's Vegan fair, Lonches To Go Food Cart, Burrito Boy, Tio Pepe Mexican, Twin Dragon Chinese, Toxic Wings & Fries, Countryside Pizza & Grill, Global Delights Coffee Kiosk and more. This is a quiet neighborhood in north Eugene, just a block from the river. One of the things we enjoy about living here are the larger lots, variety of homes and 100+ year old trees. We are away from the bustle of the city, but just minutes away from beautiful parks, duck ponds, movie theaters, restaurants and downtown. It's a great area!
  • Due to my hectic schedule things change minute to minute and I'm forced to sometimes check-in rather late. Bruce was more than happy to work with my schedule and was very accommodating at that! I plan on coming back soon, book this location if you have the chance.

  • We enjoyed our stay at the Park Ave Cottage. Bruce was very accommodating and personable. I would be happy to stay here next time traveling to Eugene.

    Julie2015-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the Park Ave cottage. It was exactly what we were expecting. We loved the smart TV that was available- we didn't see that in the listing. We were able to watch Netflix, Hulu, and surf the web. That was a nice surprise. We would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in the Eugene area. This was our first AirBnB experience and Bruce and Jennifer have set a high bar for our next experience.

    Kristen2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • So quiet and relaxing. I esepically liked the water fountain. Bruce was a wonderful host.

    Joanne 2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was the perfect little hideaway for us! It had everything we needed for a simple, sweet, and cozy stay. It had all the essentials to be able to relax and recharge after a really busy season. Many thanks to Bruce and Jennifer for their hispitality!

    Romelia2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce was nice and had a good sense of humor , after he showed us the ropes ,he gave us our privacy. Thanks Bruce

    shay2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce and Jennifer assured that our stay was relaxing and comfortable. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the decor and feel of the cottage, it was beautiful without feeling like we were walking into a show-room. We also loved how close it was to the river walking/biking paths, and a short drive to downtown and the college.

    Kim2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce was so helpful when we arrived. He helped with our luggage and showed us around the apartment. Everything was absolutely great. Comfortable beds, wonderful shower, great internet and all amenities you need. We felt very safe and very much at home. The thoughtfulness of the way the apartment is decorated and the kitchen appliances made our stay one of the best we've had at an Airbnb. Both my mom and I would highly recommend staying here. You will not be disappointed.

The guest room is decorated with Southwestern rugs and pottery and a comfortable queen bed. Your own bath is just down the hall. We share the living room, dining room and you're even welcome to use the kitchen. We do provide a hearty breakfast each morning. Since we are a ways from town and restaurants, we welcome you to bring food for meals and use our kitchen - all we ask is that you clean up after yourselves.
We are situated on 3.3 acres which include a lavender field, small orchard and berries as well as extensive ornamental gardens. There is also a 2 acre pasture which we are just beginning to develop into something more. You are welcome to wander the property, sit and enjoy, pick some fruit if you're here at the right time of year or even help with the lavender harvest. We recently purchased this property and are working on a variety of projects to bring our personal touch and lifestyle to the property. There are a few stairs into the home, 2 in front or four in back and up to the bedrooms (3). We have a cat who has free run of the house ( in case you have allergies).
We live on a very quiet street and a large number of the neighbors walk by daily. Everyone is very friendly and helpful - the way neighbors were when we were growing up. The nearest restaurants are 4 and 7 miles away.

  • First off, the cabin is a dream. I didn't know exactly what to expect, but it is in a stunning location -- so close to some of the most gorgeous natural wonders I've ever seen. (The McKenzie River area is a jaw-dropper.) The cabin itself is also a wonder to behold, going above and beyond my needs. I had a trauma happen back home in Michigan while I was in Oregon, and Kim handled the situation with grace and deep kindness. She was a pleasure to work with, and does amazing work.

    David2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We can't rave about this place enough!! We stayed in cabin 3-- "River's Rest". The cabin is idyllic, serene, and a sweet little transport back in time. We loved the little rustic boudoir across from the bathroom. The little kitchen had everything we could need to make our meals. The shower was always hot. The river flowing by is a peaceful lullaby. The cabin was a cozy dream! The movies, books, and CDs available at the cabin were all from the early 2000s, 90s, or earlier, which made the cabin feel like a little time capsule. We loved it!!

    Andrew2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great getaway from the big city. My brother and I enjoyed the scenery, the community and the awesome cabin. Kim was a great host and had everything ready for us to make it a relaxing weekend. I will definitely be coming back soon!

    Eric2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was beautiful as well as the surrounding area! We definitely didn't want to leave.

    MacKenzie2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • great escape if you really want to unplug (no wifi and no cell service) Its nice and quiet all you hear the roar of the river. Decent size for the age of the place. I recommend this place to all who want a escape/

    Jorge2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, rustic, clean cabin right on the river. Had a great time staying there. Kim was a great host, attentive to any questions that came up and was very helpful. The cabin is located right on the main road, which makes for easy access. However, the traffic at night can make it hard to fall asleep. A lot of outdoor attractions around for those who enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming, and site seeing. Would definitely go back and stay at Kim's cabin again.

    Jennifer2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this cabin is amazing!!! We had such a wonderful time!!!

    Jack2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's cabin is absolutely spotless! She has created a lovely escape surrounded by outstanding scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking and eating every meal on the deck. The cabin has nearly everything you need. I loved the special touches of fresh flowers and art. The bed was very comfortable and definitely provided restful sleep. Although some may not care for the road noise and proximity to the highway, I feel as if the price and beauty of the surrounding area more than makes up for this small inconvenience.

  • Thank you so much for providing such peaceful accommodations for my family. It was one of the first times we've been surrounded by such beauty. There was something wonderful for each of us to enjoy. The grounds are gorgeous and so well maintained. We are so thankful for experiencing a home away from home.

    Elizabeth2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a well-lit, clean, and comfortable walk-out basement apartment. Directions were very clear, and they had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. There was a lovely open yard with a backdrop of the valley the river was in with friendly deer outside the windows.

    Jaqxun2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted by the cooing of doves and garden lights as we arrived just before dusk. Janet and Jeff's quiet hillside home was just what we were looking for. The apartment was luxuriously appointed with welcoming treats, great coffee and soft thick towels just to name a few indulgences. The "neighborhood" was peaceful and the isolated feel of the yard & surrounding wood was perfect for the alone time we sought. The McKenzie was just a quick "roll" down the hill, we got in some good casting practice even if the fish didn't bite. So, we BBQ'd steaks on the grill provided. Thanks for a great weekend!

    Lori2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Janet gave us extra directions for the final leg. She also wrote us a welcome note, which felt good. The rooms were spacious and the view of McKenzie Bridge from the living room was just as the photo on their website. We enjoyed our stay very much and it was a great place to land after our days of hiking.

    Anne2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing and I highly recommend it. There was a huge amount of space inside the main house and it felt like staying in a large one bedroom apartment. The yard area was really spacious and fun to walk around in and we enjoyed hanging out in the treehouse. There was beautiful apple tree in the yard and we had fun hanging out with Petey the friendly cat!

    Jonny2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Janet's place is in a very beautiful location and the views are fabulous. The accommodation is so comfortable and cosy and extremely well-equipped - a real home from home. Communication with Jeff and Janet was excellent and we were very grateful for their detailed directions as we arrived in the dark and rain! We would thoroughly recommend it.

Come to the McKenzie River and stay at our relaxing, fully furnished home with 3 bedrooms: including 2 master bedrooms with 1 king and 2 queen sized beds. This home sits on the river just steps away from the water and is centrally located near many outdoor attractions. The McKenzie River is a hot spot for fishing and rafting that our home sits right on the edge of. Adventure by day and sleep to the comfort of the river sounds by night.
  • Beautifully situated on the banks of the river, this property offers blissful solitude, a well stocked kitchen, and really really comfortable beds. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway with close access to Eugene/Springfield.

    John2017-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at this picturesque riverfront property with our time split between the house and the close by hot springs. I especially loved the tempur pedicure mattress and boot cleaner at the front of the house. All the amenities showed the thoughtfulness of the host. Will definitely be back in the summer with a longer stay in mind!

    Meera2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house a YES! Very clean, spacious and comfortable. We rented to accommodate the grown children while the grand children all slept down the road 2 miles at G&G (too small for everyone) It was the perfect choice. The kitchen is modern and well appointed. Lots of great lounging space in the t.v. room and the deck with fantastic outdoor furniture, night time rail lighting and a heater is the perfect spot for a beer or a cup of coffee. Very quiet, private and relaxing. You can't go wrong renting from Van who was quick to respond and very accommodating. We'll be back next year or better yet, find a reason for a Summer visit!

  • Breathtaking views of the McKenzie river from the private deck of your own rustic, cozy cabin. The pictures can't do this place justice; the cabin is well-appointed, spotlessly clean, and somehow completely updated while maintaining a wonderfully rustic mid-century feel. Aforementioned views of the river are truly epic; I could have sat outside on the deck all evening if it wasn't 30 degrees, but it didn't really matter because the enormous windows allowed me to enjoy the scenery from the inside. I didn't use it, but the full kitchen would have made it easy to prepare a nice meal. Bathroom was well-lit and fully stocked with soap, towels, shampoo, body wash, and paper necessities. New heat-pump (paired with two efficient ceiling fans) kept the cabin toasty all night. Plenty of electrical outlets. The only downside I found was the traffic noise; howling semi trucks woke me up a few times during the night, but Kim made it clear in the listing that there was traffic noise, and it didn't impact my enjoyment one bit. Book it! You will not be disappointed.

  • This was an incredible experience. The cottage was wonderful. Well equipped and was a lovely setting. It was directly on the water and just off the road. While schedules didn't work out to see our host in person, she was very accommodating and made sure we had what we needed. I will be back to this cabin.

    Sean2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time staying here!! Our only regret is not staying longer! We are planning to come back. Some unexpected highlights for us - The shower was warm and had good pressure. The bed was soft and fluffy. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook a nice meal. There was a selection of dvds and cds. Thanks!

  • A great romantic and cozy Winter get-a-way for two.

    Ariel2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at Kim's cabin! We really enjoyed the river views and all the scenic areas around. Kim was a great host and checked in with us and gave us a great hike recommendation! The kitchen space was very appreciated and we were very comfortable in our time there. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again! Something to note- if road traffic bothers you, this is off a main road and traffic can be heard from inside the cabin. But, traffic does slow down quite a bit at night and it didn't bother me much at all.

  • Our stay at Kim's Getaway was very enjoyable. The property is serene, has some delightful lawn art, and is well manicured. Their koi fish pond definitely deserves some type of award for it's presentation. The apartment was very clean and a great place to return to at the ends of our days exploring the McKenzie River area. We also witnessed a couple bald eagles soaring by as we enjoyed our breakfast one morning on the patio. Kim was a great host. We will definitely stay there again.

You can have this upstairs guest house all to yourself! It has its own private entrance. It's located about 10 minutes off the freeway, NE of Springfield. This is a good spot to slow down and relax for a few days. If you prefer the being in the city, downtown Springfield is 10 minutes away, or the UofO is about a 20-minute drive. Bicyclists, hikers, and runners love our little valley for all the good trails and roads.
We created this space as a home entertainment lounge. It's a place to have fun. Enjoy playing pool on our 3 piece slate, full sized pool table. A good quality sound system and projector are included so you can watch BIG movies on the North wall. We do not have any traditional TV service. The blu ray player can log into your Netflix or Amazon Prime account for streaming movies, and the video system will take HDMI input from your devices. We also have Chromecast input for audio/video and a Bluetooth input for audio. We have good wifi and wired internet connections for your use.
We live in a quiet and peaceful area called the "Mohawk Valley". The guests who stay here enjoy relaxing, reading, writing, walking or hiking the trails, or riding their own bikes on the country roads. There is a lot of nature and wildlife that roam through the hills, such as elk, deer, fox, coyote, and a variety of bird life, like eagles, ravens, and cardinals. There are also plenty of farms and ranches in the valley that have sheep, goats, geese, ducks, horses, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, and cows.
  • We stayed at Holly's place when we were in Eugene for a basketball tournament. Our kids had a blast playing pool and ping pong. After the tourney we watched a movie and were able to cook a nice meal in her completely stocked kitchen. We much preferred staying there instead of a hotel.

    Linda2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed at Holly's several times, and she is always very responsive in communicating and the apartment is always well kept up.

    Angela2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really nicely appointed apartment with an amazing recreation room (ping-pong table / pool table, dart board, an assortment of games) projection TV with a nice sound system. Also has a full-sized fridge oven/range. The summer heat was going pretty good when I arrived, but the AC kept things cool. It's a bit out in the country, but only about a 15-20 min drive into town.

  • Holly's place was amazing! Everything was super clean, the kitchen area was fully stocked, plenty of extra blankets, pillows, towels and even a washing machine. Which I was very excited about!! It's so nice leaving vacation with clean laundry! There was 6 of us plus my sister who we visited in Oregon so there was plenty of space for my family to hang out. We stayed for 5 days and Holly made us feel right at home. Handel and Gretel we're adorable and made us feel welcome too! The river near by was a big hit for us. It was nice to cool off in the water and not have to drive to a public place. The river was very private. We all loved the big screen projector and popcorn to relax and unwind at the end of the day too. We got to chat with Holly and she gave us lots of tips on things to do around town and in the surrounding areas. Overall we had a great time staying at Holly's. We definitely would come back again!

  • Holly was very accommodating and greeted us upon our late arrival. She even offered to help us with our luggage. We had muffins and juice for the next morning, a nice touch. Her dogs were very friendly and loved our 2 year old. The game room was perfect for relaxing, watching movies on the big screen and for playing pool. Kitchen was well equipped for making meals at home, bedroom was perfect to hide away from movies and work on my computer privately and the outside kid area was fantastic. Great trip away from the city. The general store had everything we needed for our stay and was charming. Thank you for the nice country stay. We will certainly come back for a stay!

  • We flew to Oregon to see our four month old grand daughter, son, and daughter in law.We were greeted by Holly , Jeff, and the dogs. The cottage was extra clean, stocked with everything needed for a one week stay. The drive into Eugene is a short distance. We were able to entertain the new parents and baby a few times and let them have a change of scenery.Holly and Jeff offer a nice size game room with a pool table and ping pong and movie set up.It was ideal for our family's enjoyment. The area suffered a bad ice storm during our visit, and Jeff was out before anyone was up cleaning stairs and walkways .Great hosts !!!! loved the dogs.

  • I was thrilled to stay at Holly's place. It was a little out of town in the country. Finding it was easy. We had plans in town and it's only about 10 miles out. Well worth the drive. We had four of us stay there. They had a couple of cots that the kids slept on while my wife and I slept on the super soft bed. The kids played ping pong and darts then we put the big screen projector on with some shows. It was great. Highly recommend... but only if you like a nice place, with great views and a nice host.

    Corey2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Holly was a lovely host. Hansel and Gretel (the pups) were totally adorable. The home was immaculate, kitchen well stocked and the space was open and inviting. The only thing that was troubling was the only coffee provided was DECAF! I only noticed after making a pot, while half asleep and I awaited the effects of caffeine to kick in to no avail. Really it was a great stay though-other than the lack of caffeine:)

Guest house on a private, gated estate. One of the most beautiful spots on the McKenzie river, the guest house is short walk from the river (it is not riverside). It's separate from the main house and is 550 square feet. It's perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Seating and private fishing deck are above the river's edge. 30 min from dtown Eugene Mini-frig, toaster oven, microwave, and Keurig. Dishes, silverware, glasses Wi-Fi. New bed, clean & quiet.
Newly furnished private guest house provides a modern space for our travelers. The guest house is adjacent to the main residence and has it's own parking area. Big screen TV, wi fi keep you connected or if you prefer open the big windows and let the sound of the birds and river in for relaxation! The guest house is located 5 minutes away from the deck & McKenzie riverfront.
We are located in the McKenzie river recreation area. Lots of restaurants and McKenzie river fishing options. We also have access to hiking trails, biking trails. Great for an overnight as well, if you are traveling thru for business. Although we live on the property and are available if you need us, we respect your privacy. It's a very peaceful place for ourselves and you, our guests. Please respect our neighbors.
  • Clean, comfy, & quiet getaway! The hot tub is a sweet treat to unwind in while overlooking the river and sipping on coffee in the morning! Definitely recommend to friends!

  • Absolutely beautiful and peaceful! The hosts were great at answering any questions I had and at the same time we had complete privacy! Very clean and well equipped!

    Jessie2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Matt & Robbin's guest house was immaculate with plenty of amenities to make us feel at home. The bed was by far the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. We had breakfast on the deck with a beautiful view overlooking the river. On our last night we stayed up too late and they were kind enough to allow us to check out a couple hours later. I highly recommend this space as it was very private and able to access the river easily.

    Leslie2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time! The property was beautiful and the guesthouse was exactly as pictured. The hot tub overlooking the river was so incredibly relaxing, and the room was so cozy! The hosts provided everything we could have possibly needed, and arrival + checkout were so easy and hassle-free! We will definitely be back!

    Jenna2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place. Kind hosts. Furnace is a bit loud in the night. Brought our own electric skillet to cook on. Peaceful location.

  • What an amazing space! The hot tub overlooks the river and is a breathtaking view. The guest house is a lovely little cottage with all the amenities. Friendly and responsive hosts. Such a relaxing getaway. We will be back for sure!!

    Morgan2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The guesthouse is an amazing space with incredible amenities and lots of space! I felt like I could stay there for a long time, I loved it! (besides missing my full kitchen access at home, since I prefer to eat home cooked meals, but there are great restaurants along the highway towards Belknap). The property was very inviting and well taken care of, the river views (and fishing pole holders on the deck!) were awesome. We'll likely bring our fishing poles next time. Visiting in the fall was chilly but the quiet heater does warm up the large space efficiently. I can't wait to come back in the spring/summer! Thank you Matt & Robbin, it was a pleasure.

    Ashley2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage has everything you need right on the McKenzie River, including a hot tub! Furnishing is brand new and very nice! Matt and Robin were the perfect hosts.

“Tranquility Base.” The most memorable feature of the River House will be sitting on the covered-deck...watching the McKenzie River flow by, with the birds, the whispering trees, the solitude…so peaceful and tranquil. The kitchen is fully equipped; you can converse with family or friends, or watch the river through the expansive living room windows. The spacious main bedroom has a king-size bed. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed. And, the front bedroom has 2 twin-size beds.
  • The house was awesome and the back patio deck overlooks the river. Very beautiful. The neighborhood is great and driving distance to many areas. I highly recommend staying at this house. I have a family of 6 and we had plenty of room. John was very nice and accommodating also.

  • Great view. Nice cabin feel. Clean.

    Greg2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • J was a great host. Very thorough with description and instructions. The house had everything we wanted, was right on the river and had the right amount of seclusion vs accessibility. I would definitely stay here again.

    Matt2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Right on the river- sleep and wake to the sounds of the current, ducks and osprey. Quiet and spacious for our needs. The space is somewhat spare in decor, but hey, you've got a river.

    Terri2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely open space located right on the river. Stayed over the weekend and had a very relaxing time. Would definitely recommend! On a side note - If you're into hiking you should check out Carpenter mountain lookout. It's about an hour drive from Johns location and an easy-moderate 1 mile hike. It's absolutely worth it!

  • We had a blast. When we were leaving we saw a group of cyclists getting ready for a journey. It made us all want to stay longer. I would recommend this place to everyone if you want to get away from the city and find some peace and serenity. We also found some good restaurants not too far away. I am a fan! This place gets put on my long-term-list! I also think it would be good for family reunions and destination weddings.

  • We had an amazing stay, and Adam and his wife made things so special for us! They offered some very imaginative and thoughtful ways to make our visit extra romantic. :) They were very communicative, and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Such nice hosts, with such a truly unique property. The tent was extremely comfy, and the bathroom was close by and fully outfitted. We slept so well hearing the river in the distance, and the stars seemed to go on forever.. Loved the fresh muffins and coffee each morning too! We had such a great experience and would love to stay again!

The teepee is just great, the location is beautiful, and the hosts are so thoughtful. The bathhouse is very clean and fully stocked with towels and toiletries. There was even coffee brewing (with real cream & sugar), when we woke up. We will definitely return.

    Dana2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • I was only here overnight on a road trip, but what a GREAT place to stop off for some peace and quiet. Adam was great about showing me around and identifying great spots along the creek. The safari tent was clean, comfortable, and a great place to retreat for a bit before heading on my way. Highly recommend!

Surrounded by green pastures, horses, and a creek, our place is a scenic 20 minute drive to the University of Oregon, shopping and dining. The Cascade Mountains and Pacific Ocean are an hour in either direction. Recreational opportunities abound. You'll have a private entrance, spacious and bright accommodations, coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, W/D, TV, and a ping pong table. This is a large open and airy multipurpose room with its own bathroom and large utility room.
We actually have a fully functional dental chair --without the dentist! Imagine sipping your morning coffee, enjoying the view, while reclined in whatever position suits you. The other unique feature of the room is the ping pong table. Go ahead! The spaciousness of this apartment/big room, I think you will find relaxing. --No tripping over each other's stuff! We can sleep up to 6 guests and there is still plenty of room. The bathroom is all yours except for the cabinet, which stores our stuff. Views to the east and west include graceful horses. For the most part, it's very quiet, but some of the natural sounds we love here are birdsong, soft hooting owls, Canadian geese honks, coyote yips, summer crickets, and frog song. When our goats hear us coming to do chores, they get excited, and you might hear their "maaing" for a minute. Traffic noise is very light.
Our neighborhood is a rural community. The first white settlers arrived in the mid 1800's, and some of their descendants still live here. It's the kind of place where people know each other, and you wave at passers-by. Some folks raise cattle and hay, or manage their forestland, but nowadays, most work in town. One thing commuters love about living here is the long stretch of the road that follows the gorgeous McKenzie River. The guest apartment was added to the house in 2008, when we wanted a place for our kids to gather with their friends, which worked really well. Hence, it is not a fully separate structure but it feels like one when we close the connecting door.
  • Such a wonderful place! While it isn't the fanciest, it's homey and welcoming. The whole time we were there we felt like we were there it was like staying in the home of a family member who had really wanted us there, prepared for our visit and thought of everything. From the personalized note on arrival to the landline in case cell service dropped to all the little details, Becky was amazing. Every time I thought to myself, "Oh shoot, I forgot..." I would look to find that Becky had already thought to provide the item herself. And the peaceful location? Oh my word, we all slept incredibly soundly. Despite needing to wake up earlier than normal this morning, I got an extra hour of deep sleep according to my sleep tracker thanks to a comfy bed and a peaceful country locale.

    Emily2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as desscribed. Location isn't the best, but it's nice and quiet. No cell phone coverage but they provide wifi and a landline. Room was very spacious and clean. Beds were uncomfortable. Nice and friendly hosts. Property seemed very nice but we didn't stay long enough to check it out.

    Matt2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very cozy and clean. Having a private bathroom and a queen size bed was very nice! The location was quiet and relaxing, with beautiful scenery. We had a great stay!

    Evan2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Well maintained property in convenient location. Hosts were available for questions and made us feel very welcome.

    Rebecca2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Becky’s spot, the beautiful, quiet country setting. We all loved meeting the goats! The place was clean and we liked the small little touches, like the coffee and snacks. We also needed to check in a little early and Becky accommodated us, which was really nice. Heads up that not all the windows have a covering, so your sleep could be interrupted by the morning light (if that sort of thing affects your sleep).

    Christina2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet place to stay with a country feel but close to where we needed to be.

    Aubre2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Becky is a thoughtful host who stayed up late to make sure we arrived safely. The main space is a great big rec room, and perfect if you really don't like being cramped. There's even a Ping Pong table you can play. The space for a third guest (we brought our daughter) is nicely private. Really clean and comfortable.

  • The listing says 3pm check in, but when we arrived we had to call someone (no one at front desk), and they said check in was actually 4pm. He (not Chris) said it would be ready around 3:30, but it wasn't ready until exactly 4. It was very hot outside and the a/c unit had a hard time keeping up during the day. Chris was friendly and had a couple games for us to borrow. You can also access Netflix which is nice, but the wifi is pretty slow. The Indigo Cafe had great food and smoothie options. It was nice to have that within walking distance. Overall, the place wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about either. Highly recommend the terwilliger hot springs if you come.

  • Where does one begin? The cabin was so perfect for our girls weekend, mom & step mom, with our 3 girls got away for 3 days of gorgeous views and late night laughter. The kitchen worked well for all our meals and keep the fire going became a fun game. We loved the river rushing outside and sitting in the hot tub. We played cards and explored the forest and loved how much it felt like someone's home away from home. The water pressure in the shower was perfect! We would come back in a heartbeat

A series of electric radiators throughout the cabin helped keep the space warm and cozy. Plenty of firewood for the fireplace was provided. If you're looking for a unique place with great scenery off the main road, this will be a satisfying spot.

The only down side was that there were a few mice that were keeping us company while we were there. However, overall it was great. • Had a very nice stay at the Ranger cabin. Was nice being right next to the river and having campfires inside and out. The employees at the lodge were very friendly and helpful. Cabin was cute and had everything you would need for a pleasant stay. Chris was quick with his replies to any questions I had. Would come back again!

  • Excellent spot. The old ranger station is clean with all the modern conveniences. Chris and his family are welcoming folks, who are happy to point you in the direction of some beautiful, quintessential Oregon spots close by. Great mid or launch point for central Oregon adventures. Add this one to your list.

  • The ranger cabin is a blast from early last century, when they build things to last. Adorable rustic little cabin, with plenty of room to sleep a few acquaintances or a lot of really close friends. Lovely fire pit and lounge chairs in the backyard. Not too many options around the upper McKenzie, and this was a great place to kick back, relax and not have to return to "civilization". Bring your bike and spend some time on the McKenzie River Trail.

  • Charming little cabin in the woods by a beautiful river. Everything you need to get away from it all and still be comfortable!

  • We arrived fairly late to check in because of icy conditions, and Chris was very welcoming. The cabin we stayed in was very spacious, and could definitely house many people. It was clean and cozy with everything provided for us, even some tea! I look forward to staying at this location again for all my future weekend trips to the hot springs. Thank you for the lovely visit!

Awesome place to stay for near by outdoor activities. There is a gas station and restaurant a few miles away, and close to the McKenzie river. Hotel/inn feel to the place, I had a comfortable stay!
