“Visit Maui's own dormant Volcano! Reserve a spot for sunrise, or pack up a picnic for the sunset and watch the stars come out in full force. Either way, you won't want to miss the view from the 10,023' elevation. ”

“While we try to support the local shops something have to be bought at Costco. It is recommended that you make a list of things you need and stop at Costco before you leave Kahului in route to South Kihei. Remember we supply beach equipment, snorkel gear and most of the things you need for a fantastic holiday on Maui. You will want sunscreen, food and drinks. ”

“This is the oldest and best luau on Maui. You will want to make reservations WAY in advance. It is truly cultural and a sight to see. You will not be disappointed and you might learn something you did not know about Hawaiian culture in the process. www.oldlahainaluau.com”

Café

“This is a little bit of drive, maybe 10 minutes depending on traffic, but if you’re looking to overindulge for breakfast, you’ve found the right place. Macadamia pancakes with coconut syrup are a specialty, but be hungry. A few pointers as this place gets very busy and you should expect to wait. First, there is some seating on first come first served basis, but do not sit until after you’ve ordered – seating is tough so we do take out sometimes. Second, it used to be cash only, and I don’t know if that’s changed, so be prepared. Finally, while you’re waiting in line be aware of the chickens which frequent the outside of the restaurant. That said, this is a Kihei institution and you should give it a shot.”

Park
“The most sacred place on Maui. Come here to learn about the Hawaiian history of Iao Valley, take a short hike to view the famous Iao "needle," or a longer hike into the valley. You can take a dip in the stream, picnic in the picnic area boasting pavilions and several little structures and gardens created to resemble the styles of various cultures of the early settlers here. This is a very special place! If you do not have a Hawaiian ID, there is a $5/car fee to park. You do not need to dedicate a whole day here, but we highly suggest not missing it. Schedule an hour one morning to check it out before continuing on with your day. :)”

Beach
“While we love the close proximity to Charles Young beach, there are two other great beaches in walking distance from our unit. Of the three, we really enjoy Kam III for its soft sand and swimmer-friendly waters. It's also the largest of the Kihei beaches and is nearby lots of great shops and restaurants.”
