  • This place was not only adorable but super clean. The location was amazing. Literally a 10 minute walk to Canal/Bourbon Street. We would definitely consider staying here again if back in New Orleans.

  • Great location and hosts were very in touch. Would highly recommend!

  • This was a great little condo. I traveled to New Orleans with my daughter, who had never visited the city. With the sleeper sofa, we had two beds enabling privacy when we wanted it. We could walk to the French Quarter and there were good breakfast restaurants in the neighborhood.

  • Accurate photos of the property. Close walking to most of downtown. I would definitely recommend to others.

  • This was a Wonderful place to stay!! It was everything expected and more. Stylish, clean, and cozy! The location is perfect to walk to everything and still be a bit out of the way if the bourbon street noise. Also, the communication was superb, kindly checking in and offering advice on things to do. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to book this proper and I will definitely return. Thank you Mandy and Krystal so much for being such wonderful hosts!

    Kellie2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Krystal & Mandy’s place was very nice all of the pictures are accurate. For some reason I thought we would be staying at the Roosevelt hotel residences, but we were in the apartments next door. The apartment is walking distance from everything. I literally walked back and for from bourbon street just because I forgot my lip gloss and it wasn’t a big deal because the walk was so short. We got there super early before check in and were able to leave our bags at Krystal and Mandys friends barber shop down the street. I know when you think, barber shop, it’s like, ehhh. But it’s no regular barber shop it’s looks like a boutique and the owner Peggy was very helpful about where to go before our check in. Overall great location the roof top is nice and you get pics of where the crane fell while they were rebuilding the hard rock. Krystal and Mandy were great host and I’d stay there again. Not with 3 people, it’s big enough for a couple even though it stays 4.

  • Guys this location is perfect. It’s a few steps from Canal so easy to get to everything. I way prefer staying in this area as it’s not gritty and a cleaner area. So close to some fantastic coffee places and easy to get to parking (30/day). The appt itself is spacious and beautiful. Second floor. Easy access. Beds amazingly comfortable. Pillows wonderful. Balcony is off the master—so fun. View isn’t pretty but so fun to have outdoor space.

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire. Additional bedroom is available for groups traveling together or families traveling with children. Please discuss your group's needs with the host. New Orleans license number is 17STR-06526.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house just off the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iron, music player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. A second bedroom is available for groups, so the space can be made to accommodate 1-4 people. We welcome special requests and will make every effort to assist with needed recommendations. We can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your childen. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • Erins place was wonderful, nice location, clean & quick responses for any questions we had!

    Haleigh2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Erin is such a lovely host!! She responds so quickly and always makes sure you have everything you need, as well as having a bunch of really good recommendations for what to do and where to eat. I would definitely stay at Erin's place again if I visit New Orleans again in the future.

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely neighborhood stay in NOLA. The tastefully decorated rooms are exactly as described and sparkling clean. Private entrance is convenient and two entrances to shared bathroom between the two private bedrooms. Although a bookcase basically separate the rooms from the hostess’s private residence area, this was not a problem for us. A convenient mini-fridge with tea & coffee making machine is provided, as well as snacks, water & beer in the larger bedroom! There is an excellent coffee shop about 4 blocks’ walk (Coffee Science).

    Jean2020-02-14T00:00:00Z

  • Perfect stay in the heart of NOLA. Erin is a Super Host.

    Martha2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Erin’s place was lovely. It felt like our own little house behind her house. The place is super clean and stylish. When we arrived to Erins place after walking all over the city, we were delighted to find refreshments when we arrived to our place! The house is in a residential area, just two blocks from the street car stop, so it was very easy to get into the city. Definitely recommend!

    Kathryn2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming room in a cute, quiet neighborhood. Safe area to walk with some of the host's recommended places within walking distance. Erin thinks of everything; there were beverages in the fridge and local snacks for when we arrived. Super clean!

  • We so much enjoyed New Orleans and our first night's stay at this Airbnb studio that we reserved an extra night. Matthew was super accommodating and helpful in all our communications. A delightful spot for a couple of tourists to relax after exploring this amazing city.

    Alison2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a convenient, safe and cheerfully eclectic place for 1 or 2 people to stay in New Orleans, this one fits the bill. Our only sighting of a host was the briefest of encounters of Katherine through their front door opened a crack so as not to let the dog out. However, written messages with Matthew were promptly and very helpfully answered. One end of St Charles Street trolley is within very easy walk from the Airbnb studio. It was immensely helpful to have our own parking space in the driveway. City driving and parking can be awkward, but the trolley system and Uber/Lyft met every transportation need. Matthew and Katherine have provided helpful recommendations for eating places and sites to visit, clear information on the amenities, and specific instructions for tidying up etc before checkout. All in all, a good place!

    Alison2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay! The garden/backyard area is gorgeous (and made a great backdrop for a photo i took!) We really loved that there were lots of places to eat close by, since we were trying to avoid the busier areas at night. Matthew and Katherine were very kind and welcoming. The local beers and snacks were a nice surprise after our 5 hour drive. :) Thank you for making our trip awesome!

    Sarah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great for a weekend getaway. Beautiful outdoor area. Would recommend.

    Ariel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and Katherine’s place was perfectly located. Away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but conveniently located near shops and restaurants. They’re three blocks from the street car and five minutes drive from magazine street. The space was perfect for me who just needed a place to sleep, shower, and then get up and go. If you want a more laid back approach, the garden was perfect for a good book and a cold beer. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at their place.

    Matthew2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I loved it here! The neighborhood is so lovely, it is an easy walk to the streetcar, and the little yard and garden are so wonderful. Everything clean and comfy inside, and I appreciated the oatmeal on my last morning as I waited for my airport cab. Super quiet and safe.

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I have just completed a 18 day music tour and This is best Airbnb I have stayed in on the trip. I highly recommend. The hosts are great the decor is fabulous and the outside space was so nice I had to take pictures so I could copy a few of the ideas for at home!! It’s in a quiet safe area only a short journey into the centre. It has lots of nice extras that were warmly received.

With 5,000+ sq ft of living space and 1/3 acre of gardens, The Mazant is a historic mansion located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1.5 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and The Music Box. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.
** UPDATE FEB 2020 ** The pool and hot tub are complete and ready for use for all stays starting after February 27, 2020. We have added some new low-res photos of the yard and will add fully updated photos by mid-March. Please reach out if you have any questions. ======= Over the past several years we have renovated the property, seeking to preserve historic details including 13' ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 175+ year old oak tree. At the same time, we also updated the layout to more comfortably accommodate large groups: * 18-person dining room table * Oversized living room with 75-inch television, surround sound system, and Baldwin upright piano * Private yard (1/3 acre) with fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks * Super-fast WiFi (the top tier that Cox offers) * Front porch (gallery) with historic gas lamps and outdoor seating * Off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking for overflow * Viking kitchen appliances  The house has eight bedrooms with layout as follows: Downstairs - Bedroom 1: one queen bed (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 2: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) Upstairs - Bedroom 3: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower/tub combo) - Bedroom 4: one double bed - Bedroom 5: two twin beds - Bedroom 6: one king bed - Bedroom 7: two queen beds (semi-private bathroom - shower) and pull out sofa bed (double) - Bedroom 8: one king bed There is another shared bathroom upstairs (near the laundry room) with a clawfoot tub-shower combo. The caretaker’s cottage is not available for rent. Our onsite caretaker is available to handle requests/questions throughout your stay.
Just down river (east) from the French Quarter - stretching from Press Street to the Industrial Canal - is the Bywater, where the mood and pace shift as you enter into the heart of an edgier yet still welcoming neighborhood. The St. Claude Arts District, centered around St. Claude Avenue, is home to more than thirty locations exhibiting visual and performance art, along with an array of artisan crafts. Down Piety Street, the fun continues with restaurants, thrift stores and more galleries. Even the homes, cafes and restaurants seem to capture Bywater's eclectic appreciation for the arts. Spend the afternoon at Crescent Park for some impressive views of downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. Afterward, you can thrift your way through the neighborhood before stopping in at an exhibition and finally making your way to dinner. The area's restaurants are among the most innovative in the city and are great places to sit with a cocktail and chat with locals. Above all, the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods illustrate the relationship between the New Orleans arts scene and local life. So whether you're looking for the New Orleans of old, or if you want see where New Orleans culture is headed for the future, the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater will offer you glimpses in either direction.
  • Stunning mansion that's beautifully set up for a crowd with great entertaining spaces, a modern well-equipped kitchen, lovely bathrooms and gorgeous garden - and even a small pool and hot tub. We loved the Bywater location, with easy access to terrific local restaurants and a relaxed neighborhood. A long walk or easy cab ride to French Quarter and other fun places to visit.

  • WOW the pictures look great but the actual mansion is fantastic!! We received info about the area and the amenities were so thoughtful. Our family of 15 were very comfortable, lots of space and bathrooms thoughtful laid out. We sat around the fire pit several nights and marveled at the whole place. The local food and bars were a blast. Do go and walk the neighborhood is very safe and locals are friendly. The info on the house and the pictures of the process of restoring it were really interesting. Kevin is so sweet and thoughtful , thank you Kevin

  • This house is better in person than in the pictures! A perfect location for a quiet night or going out - head to the French Quarter and come home to a place that is quiet enough to fall asleep. We couldn't thank Jeff enough for his hospitality, as a group of 20 celebrating an engagement the bottle of champagne and king cake in the fridge were such a sweet touch!

We cooked/catered in the house a couple of days and had everything we needed. Excellent attention to detail. You can even walk to the French Quarter (~30 min) by taking a promenade along the river, just south of the house. Fantastic place!

  • The best AirBnB I’ve stayed in! Brandon and his wife allowed us to check-in early and park our luggage after our check out! They offered our favorite treats and sent us all the great local restaurants to try! Will definitely be staying here again! 12/10 recommend!!!

  • It is a peaceful quiet place in Treme'. It is an upstairs apartment within the beautiful house. The classic architecture is all there. It's a little more than a 10 minute walk to the French Quarter. We felt safe and everyone we met in the neighborhood was kind, friendly and courteous.

  • This place was so beautiful upon arrival. Nice touches and was even given more trinkets and gifts to enjoy. The place is a perfect location. Walked to dizzys cafe one afternoon. Short uber right to the French quarters. And has a great balcony to just relax on and people watch. We were given recommendations on food and other activities as soon as we arrived and it was just an overall fun place to stay at. Thanks for making our short girls trip memorable

Charming Cottage on the Westbank of New Orleans Approx 12 miles from New Orleans French Quarter. One mile from Bayou Segnette state park and 1/2 mile from cajun swamp tours
The house is located in the small town of Westwego on the westbank of the Mississippi River, one block from Highway US90 business with easy access to New Orleans going east or the Cajun country to the west. It is in a very safe and quiet working class neighborhood. A lot of the neighbors are local fisherman and shrimpers that make their living off the abundant seafood available in the area. One block from the home is the Westwego fish market, an open air market with dozens of vendors selling fresh seafood brought in daily by the local fisherman.
  • Great place close to New Orleans! About 15 minutes to the French Quarter. Big enough for a few adults or a small family. Parking was easy in front of the house. Neighbors were nice and the street nearby was nicely paved. Backyard was great, mostly fenced aside from open spots at the back corners which were covered up with cinderblocks. House has all the amenities we needed including washer, dryer, small dishwasher, crockpot, stove, microwave, lots of towels, and 2 coffee makers. The air conditioning also worked great and I loved how comfy the big bed is. The host was very communicative and offered some local suggestions. If you want a king cake outside of Mardi Gras season, “Coffee &” is close by and offers them with 24 hours notice. I would recommend that anyone stay here if you’re looking for a more homey place outside the city. We would stay here again.

  • Wonderful place to stay in a quiet neighborhood. We had an event at the Alario Center and this place is right down the road. Very convenient for a long competition day. The host was super thoughtful and had stuff on hand in case we forgot anything. Fridge had waters and they even left us a king cake! This place was also a very easy commute to Bourban St.

We are located in a very save and quiet neighborhood in Marrero, LA. Downtown New Orleans is a 15 min. car ride away. West Jefferson Hospital is within walking distance and major shopping areas within 5 min. drive. The apartment is on the second floor of our house, but has a separate entrance. Due to local government regulations, we can only accept rentals of 31 days or longer. Our apartment is perfect if you work at the nearby hospital, or for short term job assignments.
The apartment we are offering is the top floor of our two story house. The first bedroom has a queen bed with a memory foam mattress. We also have a large closet to store your suitcase and clothes in the room. The second bedroom also serves as the living area and has a daybed with a trundle underneath that can be pulled out and serve as a second twin bed. When not needed it is stowed away underneath the day bed. There is also a small eating nook with a table and chairs. The bathroom is completely new with a tub/shower, one-sink vanity and an adjacent makeup table. Towels are provided. The kitchen area sports a microwave and one NuWave plate if you wish to cook. It has a full size refrigerator with a freezer compartment on top. We stocked up the kitchen with a set of silver ware, plates, bowls, coffee cups and drinking glasses for 4. Paper plates will be available also.
Our neighborhood is very quiet and crime free. West Jefferson Hospital is a 5 minute walk away. If you are a travelling nurse or resident at the hospital, this is the perfect place for your stay.

  • If you’re traveling to New Orleans? This is a must stay place, without a doubt! The hosts are wonderful and kind, they are helpful when you need them! The place itself is also amazing! If you seem doubtful because of the pictures? I suggest you take the deal and see that the pictures don’t cover the full extent of the wonderful place. And of course I would definitely make this my stay again in the future! And always be respectful of your hosts as they are to you! Thanks again Kenny and Brigitte!

Nice little house that has a private entrance to the bedroom that connects to the backyard. BBQing & smoking outside OK, but not inside. Beautiful location near the historic Algiers Point & Algiers ferry that connects to downtown New Orleans including the French Quarter, Riverwalk Mall, Aquarium, and French Market that has numerous shops and places to eat. Local buses and trolleys take you wherever you want to go.
The private room I have it's small but it's cozy and it fits 2 very comfortable and there's another bed that is memory foam and it is just a mattress that goes to the floor. I also have plenty of extra blankets and pillows there is Wi-Fi and TV, I also provide soap towels and shampoo. there's plenty of water in the refrigerator. also there's a kitchen separating me from the guest room, so you don't have to worry about noise I don't hear anything day or night.
My neighborhood is nice all my neighbors are friendly I have a great view of the Twin Bridges from my porch I also have a great view of the bridge a block away from the Riverwalk. I have free parking and my neighborhood is very safe. it's also safe to walk at night I live in a great neighborhood.
  • Michelle's place was very small but comfortable. Michelle is a great host. She called many times before the trip to know when we were arriving and what she could do to help. When we got there, she and her family were very friendly, they cooked breakfast for us and Michelle bought a lot of fruits for us. Michelle's place is on the bus line and also close to the ferry. Michelle was so kind to give us rides to the ferry and also into midtown to take the St Charles streetcar. Definitely a great place to stay in New Orleans

    Jewel2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle, you are an amazing host, super fun and very attentive, thank you very much for your attention to us and for opening the doors of your house, we would definitely return with you, besides the location was great, very close to French Quarter, greetings and I hope that we see each other again! Warmly Isabel, Diana and Valeria ❤️

    Isabel2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s place offers travelers a place to rest, eat, and clean up. There’s a full size bed and also a twin mattress, but this is a very small place, so I don’t recommend trying to fit more than three humans. She offered hot coffee in the morning, and bottled water. She had sample toiletries for you to use, and if you need anything you really just ask her and she will help you out. We rode her bikes down to the levee and over the ferry into downtown ($2) about a 10 min bike ride! (Ferry is walk on or bike on only, no vehicles and connects to the downtown aquarium area) There is no central AC, and the room only has a window unit, and the kitchen has a fan. The bathroom has a vent but it got hot at some points but overall tolerable. To combat the heat, I used one of the towels and draped it over the curtain to block out more sunlight. There is only one working outlet in the room, and none in the restroom from what I saw, I recommend bringing an extension cord with 3 outlets. The shower head sits a little low and doesn’t have high pressure, I’m 5”7 and had to lean backwards and squat to wash my hair, but it does get the job done and the hot water lasts awhile! I never heard any traffic from the bridge, but occasionally heard the neighbors moving and showering, which wasn’t bad. The backyard is very nice to sit and relax, look at the various plants, and pet Missie the Cat. She has two sweet dogs (Blue & Pancho) and a friendly parrot, which you do not hear unless they are greeting you! I would suggest this to anyone who is looking for a short stay in New Orleans that will give you the feel of an *authentic* NOLA shotgun architectural style house!

    Allison2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was accommodating every step of the way! She had everything set up and ready for our arrival! It was a wonderful, perfect If you need a quick stay in New Orleans! She even had toiletries and a fresh hot coffee ready for us in the morning. One of the best hosts I have ever had, Michelle is definitely the home to go!!! Thank you so much!

    Troy2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was private and our dog enjoyed the backyard. She was fun and saavy host, had many local suggestions. The bed was nice as was the air conditioning. the bridge was nice to look at at night. Would stay again.

    Jennifer2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is such a thoughtful and attentive host. My little family has traveled and stayed at guest houses all over the country and I can’t think of a more warm and welcoming visit. Michelle loves dogs and treated ours so well. It’s hard to find places that are accommodating to pets- especially in a great location, with a reasonable cost. Our room was small and cozy for the three of us- but clean, cool and comfortable. We hope to visit again sometime.

  • Ryan was a fantastic host! We never met, but he responded very quickly to any questions I had. We were three girls visiting New Orleans for the first time and felt super safe at his place. Also the pictures don’t do it justice... so many areas to chill alone or with someone else. Also he let us stay an extra hour for check out, and offered to hold our bags until our flight. Thanks for everything!

  • The apartment was cozy and gave off great vibes, there was enough beds and privacy options to accommodate 4 adults. You’ll be sharing one bathroom, which is the only problem we ran into. Otherwise they had two flat screen TVs with most streaming services hooked up ready to use and the beds were perfect for my standards and I didn’t hear any complaints from my friends either. I can’t wait to go back and will definitely stay here again 💕

  • Joan's house was located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood just 10min from the French quarter. She was very quick at responding to messages and was pleasant to conversation with. She provided us with clean bed linens and went above and beyond to press the pillow cases for us. There were 2 beds in our room that were very comfortable with 7 pillows. Her bathroom was large and included clean towels and rags for our use. We were in New Orleans for a cruise and she even allowed us to park our car while we were away. We highly recommend Joan's house!

Our room and bathroom were very clean with fresh linens and plenty of towels and wash cloths. The beds were comfortable with extra pillows provided. Joan and her husband live in the house, but are very quiet that you hardly realize they are there. The neighborhood was very quiet and in a safe area just minutes from the city. I highly recommend this place!

  • we drove to new orleans from southern illinois and decided on air bnb at the last minute. I messaged Joan and she responded immediately. we arrived at her house around midnight and she was more than accommodating. she made us breakfast and coffee. when it was time to make the cruise, she gave me a very good rate to leave my car at her house for the week and drove us to the pier in her vehicle and picked us up. she is very sweet and is an amazing host. she offered good tips for exploring the city and has a very lovely home. if I am ever back in New Orleans, I hope to meet her again! exceptional service!

This is a "mother in law" apartment added to my house in the 60's. It's a separate residence from my house and although attached there is no access between the two dwellings. Minutes to the French Quarter, downtown, the lakefront, and Mid City. Sure, you can find cooler places in hipper neighborhoods but you will pay ALOT more.
It's a small (400 sqft) mother in law that was added in the 60's. It cozy and has "charm" in its own way. The bathroom is a kitschy 60's yellow with black trim, and the kitchen boasts a vintage Anderson stove from the 50's. No doubt moved from the main house after the renovation, the stove is like an old Cadillac. It's huge! I have cooked on it a bunch and I actually want to restore it and put it back in the big house. Someday, but for now you can enjoy it. All the burners work, as well as the broiler and hot plate. I never did try and fire up the slow cooker. Currently the oven thermostat is malfunctioning so if your yearning to bake I'll hook you up with my oven. I do have a large toaster oven that works pretty well, and is big enough for a frozen pizza. The apartment could use a real renovation as the kitchen cabinets, countertop and floors are old and dated but it's not going to happen for a while, hence the low price. It's clean, and we keep it nice, besides you didn't come all the way here to spend time in a house.
Gentilly is quiet suburb just 3 miles north of the French Quarter of traditionally working class families. The homes are larger, and spaced on larger lots than some of the older more historic neighborhoods. My house was built in the 1920's, on gentilly ridge. It's the highest point around, and was high ground for Katrina. We were an island during Katrina, Betsy, and Camille! Getting around is easy. We are centrally located with fast access to the quarter, Mid City, the Fairgrounds, City Park, and the lakefront. You can be almost anywhere in the city in under 10 minutes or less.
  • The place was neat and convenient to all the city attractions. The guide was informative and the place was stocked. All in all this was a great place to stay.

  • The chickens are really cute. The place was great. Location about 15 minutes form everything. Wonderful experience!

    Dezarie2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a cozy ready for guests feel to the place. A cup of coffee ready to be made and a nice couch to enjoy it on. A quality place and host.

    Syd2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place but a distance from the core the bus system sucks always late bad for night time so incorporate $10 each way with ubar. If I can deal with that great take the place

    Mike2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! 10 minutes away the French Quarters. Host gave us tons of local tips, some in a message prior, but he has a great book and a wall with a map and restaurantsand things to do. The place was very cute with everything we needed. Loved the art work. This air bnb made our stay so much more authentic being in the middle of the community. I have to emphasize that the host's communication and help was the best perk for us first timers in New Orleans. Definitely recommend this place.

    Cindy2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect little home base to stay while visiting New Orleans. My partner and I were in this space for 10 days. We really appreciated the local tips that Joe left for us in the guidebook! The neighborhood is beautiful and nearby a main thoroughfare and bus stops that make it easy to get around the city. We were there in the winter and the heater kept us nice and warm. The home was a little dusty in some spots but nothing to worry about, and the bed was a bit soft but still nice and clean. We were very appreciative to have this lovely home to come back to after a day of exploring the city.

    Camille2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Joe’s place was exactly what was described! It was nice, clean, and a perfect place to stay if you’re visiting New Orleans for a few days. The bus stop is conveniently located so getting into to city was nice and easy without having to pay for Uber’s or Lyft (3 day bus pass for only $9). If I’m ever in New Orleans again, I’ll be sure to stay here!

    Shania2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's place is so welcoming and cozy it feels like home away from home. There are so many extra items that are in the fridge and pantry that make staying there even better. The bed is SO comfy. Also, Joe is the sweetest person and he was so nice and held awesome conversation!

  • AMAZING Airbnb experience-- the best I have ever had! Everything was prepared beautifully for us-- from the Cafe Du Monde coffee grinds + french press to the thoughtful magazines on the coffee table. The home is stunning with high ceilings and very modern decor. (The water pressure in the shower is to die for!!) We did not get to use the kitchen but it was fully equipped with appliances. The home is about 15-20 minutes from the quarter and a 5 minute walk to Magazine Street. The host was SO accommodating and gracious and she definitely enhanced our trip. I will definitely stay here when it's time to visit NOLA once again. Thanks so much!

  • Verna was a great host very understanding never once was she rude or short with me one of the best host I've ever had the pleasure off being hosted by if their was an issue she solved it right away I recommend her 1000%.

    Joe2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hospitality! Host provided food when I arrived and tips for navigating the city. Couldn't have asked for more.

    Chris2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We took a chance and booked a bit outside from the hustle and bustle and it did pay off. The house is just right for a family of four. We had read the other guests’ appreciation for Verna’s hospitality bit were still amazed at the personal welcome, chicken from Melba’s as welcome dinner and the drinks and snacks available throughout the week. These are the little details that makes you really happy to have chosen Verna’s. Also we got tips on eateries (ribs at the Joint! Breakfast at Elizabeth!) and what was happening in NOLA this week. To get around a car or Uber is needed (there is also a bus but we did not use this). Biking should also be fine. The area is maybe not to go wandering around late at night but we felt safe coming and going. There is a Walmart quite close. Thank you again Verna and hope to see you again!

    Nina2019-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Verna is an amazing woman. She made us feel welcome and comfortable from the minute we arrived. She was super about offering ideas, recommendations and supports during our stay. Thanks for making our trip to NOLA awesome!!!

  • Verna’s home was an incredible place to stay. She had classic New Orleans food waiting for us upon arrival. The home was very secure and clean. We were able to get Uber’s to the French quarter quickly and cheaply. Everything you need is available at the house. Overall would highly recommend.

    Marlie2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Verna's place was great, she provided us with snacks, water, cleaning supplies,. The place had everything you needed to live properly. She provided us with tips around new orleans, and personally talked to us about what these places are and what we would like. She is a great host!!

    Aanchal2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Verna was an amazing host! When we booked our stay back in February she sent us links on local places we should check out, as well as, frequently communicating what New Orleans had to offer and she made sure any and all questions were answered. She was thorough, and quickly replied in a matter of seconds/minutes. When we arrived to the Airbnb, it was clean and neat on the outside, as well as, on the inside. She made sure to take extra precautions by having a high end security system, so we always felt safe no matter what! We were greeted by Verna and home food from New Orleans! She brought us chicken wings, rice, beans/sausage and cooked cabbage! And YUM! She made sure all of her guests were taking care of, by offering snacks, water bottles, soda etc. throughout the stay, she always checked on us and sent us links on local events that were happening downtown. The drive to bourbon street, French Quarters etc. wasn’t bad at all, we frequently drove our car around the city, which was easy to do. It was about 5 miles from the Airbnb to Bourbon, French Quarters etc. We never felt unsafe while we were there, and all in all, we definitely will make sure to book our next visit and stay with Verna!

    Michael2019-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Verna was a fabulous host! the location is a mile from The Joint, Bywater bakery, a few miles from Walmart and a short drive to the French Quarter. The home was clean and had the necessary amenities for the 5 of us.

  • First time using AirBnb and Donovan and his co-host exceeded me and my wife's any expectations that we had. Check in was easy using a lock-box; which is great for those times that you're on the road and you really don't care for small talk. The wife came in and she felt safe, and by the second day she was calling that place 'home'. It definitely helps that there are multiple security alarms along with cameras on the premises. And the location - few of the uber drivers were surprised we were out there, nothing wrong with the location, but you're right next to the locals and not up under other out-of-towners. Which is a good thing for me. I don't like going somewhere and people can point you as a tourist based on where you're at. The home was furnished with enough furniture to make you think they lived there as their primary residence; but clean enough to make you think they didn't ;) Any questions I had, they were only a text away. It may be on the other side of the bridge, but there's only so much you can take of those tourist traps - and just want a relaxing night back at the house. For the price and the space - will definitely be back - if we ever head back to New Orleans.

    Shaun2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in this nice place for two rather cool November days. We came at night time, it was almost midnight. No one met us there, but I've made a call to the hoster and very soon he explained how to get in. The house was nice and warm, everything was exactly how it was described. Special thanks to the hoster for snacks, magazines, tour guides and a plenty of clean towels! For the guests: if you love hot tea, take a teapot or a small pan to boil water with you. In the house you will find only a simple coffee machine.

  • Julie’s place was beautiful. Nice and bright. She was very prompt with responses whenever we needed. She even let us use the washer. The location was perfect for us.

If you dont cook, no problem... there is plenty of good food cooked like grandma across the st. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at New Orleans Own Rouses Grocery store. Tipitina's less than 2 blocks away. I'm on the parade route where they line up so that will be fun, A local restaurant on the next block for nights you want to take it easy. I'm also super close to Magazine and St. Charles avenue where there are several restaurants to choose from or just hop on the street car and check out the Beautiful Historical French Quarters where I'm sure there's a festival of some sort. • stop looking for an airbnb , you found it! awesome host , great internet , great grocery store in front of the house , bus stop right there . My only regret was to not stay longer . also this is an historic shotgun style house you can't do more new orleans . I felt very safe and comfortable , with my own privacy and space with the advantages of the community with the great host and other guests. thanks for this great New orleans experience !

  • If you want a thrilling and unforgettable NOLA experience, defenitely go for Joyell experience ! Chosing Joyell's guest house was definitely the best part of my 6 days stay in New Orleans. Joyell is a wonderful, very smart and joyful person. As long as you behave respectfully you'll feel home. You can use the spaceful bathroom, she gives you towels, you can also use the well-equiped kitchen which really makes you feel cosy and makes the stay homely (and it also helps saving money if needed :) ). The guesthouse also enables you to meet travellers from all around the world, I was lucky enough to meet persons from Germany, DR, Sweden, India and Nairubi. Joyell also gave me precious advice on what to see in the city (I only did free visits like parks, sighseeing, Missisipi, Ashé cultural center... and it was amazing ! I enjoyed spending most of my time with Joyell and I learnt so much I'm very grateful for everything. The house is spaceful, in a prime area, you've got a giant and cheap grocery right accross the street, if you're into music you can find bars very near too. With the bus you can reach everything you might be looking for. I wish you a wonderful stay like mine ! Safe travels to you all.

  • This place was not home, it was absolute heaven for a burnt out momma like me. The backyard was beautiful. My kids just loved it. Everything was so clean and nicely labeled. Bed and pillow were comfy and towels were fluffy and soft. They had a nice bowl of snacks for us and water in the fridge, allowed us to check in early and left laundry supplies so this momma could get caught up on laundry before heading home (which helped tremendously bc I ended up having twice delayed flights) I can't say enough about how thoughtful they are as host. The location was great. Coffee and donuts up the street thats open 24 hours with a diner. Their is a grocery store plus Walgreens close by. Fresh seafood market less than 5 minutes away if you're looking for that. I wish i could give this airbnb 20 stars. <3

Enjoy a newly renovated, classic double in the heart of the city! Surrounded by parade routes and easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops. With only a few blocks to St. Charles, parade routes, and the streetcar, you will enjoy quick access to all that New Orleans has to offer including the Lower Garden District, Magazine Street, French Quarter, Audubon Park, and MidCity/City Park. Private bedroom and bathroom provided with as much or as little interaction with hosts as desired.
Private bedroom in a recently remodeled duplex home with high ceilings and bright, open spaces. Room includes a queen bed, big screen tv, gaming systems, and streaming services available for your use. Private, clean bathroom next door to the room. Enjoy coffee or tea in the morning and access to kitchen, living room, laundry room, and shared backyard. Wifi, towels, and linens provided. Easy, free street parking available.
Historically, Central City has been a hub for civil rights leaders and artists. While very close to tourist attractions, this is an authentic, multicultural New Orleans neighborhood. You will often find neighbors and children talking on their porches or sidewalks and it is common to be greeted by those you pass. Neighbors are often playing music during the day, and the street generally gets quiet by 9 p.m. We have never had a problem with safety and walk or bike the neighborhood daily. There are restaurants and bars less than a five minute walk away and a four block walk to a very convenient corner store with an excellent alcohol and snack selection.
  • The apartment was super cute and chic. And impeccably clean. One couldn’t get bored. They have plenty of (outstanding)books, series and games too! [They have friends and Harry Potter😩(the entire series!!!!!!)]I loved staying at her place. Casey and her husband, Harris, taught me how to make French press coffee which I think was super nice of them. They also suggested good places to check out. All in all, I was very happy with my stay and would definitely recommend her place to anyone and everyone traveling to Nola.

    Divya2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place was super cute!! It was clean and check-in was a breeze!! Both Casey and her husband gave suggestions for places to eat and go and they were great!! I’ll definitely stay here again!! A great value. A great location. Thanks guys!!

  • I had a great stay at Casey's place. Very clean, good communication and good location. Although at first I thought it was a bit far from the center, you can easily access the French Quarter by streetcar. Also, I liked nearby Magazine Street for dinner/shopping. (I actually preferred that over the French Quarter!)

    Loes2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was great staying at Casey and Harrison's place! Easy check-in, quick communication, and a very spacious room. I also appreciated the private bathroom and Zapps chips. I often left early in the morning and got home late. They're in a neighborhood where it's good to just be aware of your surroundings (whenever a friend dropped me off, they would wait to make sure I made it in the door okay) that's really conveniently located, close to the St. Charles streetcar and a quick trip to the quarter, the Garden District, or Uptown. Definitely would recommend!

    Marina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Casey’s place was wonderful. My boyfriend & I are huge nerds so it was refreshing to see all the board games & books. Her place was easy access to the parade route. The place was clean & perfect for us.

BERKLEY OAKS -- a delightful cape cod bungalow beneath the canopy oaks in one of the city's safest neighborhoods (per NOPD satistics). Comfortable dormer room with queen bed, adjacent bath, wifi, and TV. Kitchen and laundry privileges. Enjoy morning coffee or an evening beverage in the authentic French courtyard. One mile from University of Holy Cross and 10 minutes from the Algiers Ferry. See house rules below. License #18STR-11784.
Berkley Oaks is the ideal location for exploring New Orleans. Avoid the city's tangled streets and traffic congestion. Drive 10 minutes and catch the Algiers Ferry (free parking). A pleasant 15 minute ferry ride will put you within walking distance of the French Quarter, Riverwalk and riverboats, central business district, warehouse/arts district, Harrah's Casino, the convention center, the WWII Museum, and more!
Canopy oaks! One of the safest neighborhoods in New Orleans, per city crime statistics.
  • Wonderful out-of-the way second floor bedroom with a bath just three steps down the hall. Close to four bus lines that will get you to the FQ (3 straight there, and 1 to the Algiers Point ferry crossing) but also has a parking space (I chose to be on foot). Close to amenities like Walgreens (3 minute drive), grocery, or Walmart (10 minutes by bus). Much more spacious than the main photo just showing the bed. Great place to lay your head and recharge and freshen up while dedicating the rest of the day and evening to the FQ and other parts of the city. Can't wait to get back!
