  • Absolutely exceptional service, Sarah couldn’t be more accommodating if she tried. Went above and beyond expectations, we will definitely book again

    Kristen2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was the most personal and caring hosts ever. For the Valentine’s Day weekend she left some little touches around the flat to make this more special, will be returning soon for more cozy getaways. The flat was stunning clean and warm, had no issues even with the storm we have had. Would highly recommend.

  • Yet another wonderful stay at Ginger croft. Sarah is the perfect host and is so thoughtful. Love this little place.

  • Such a charming and quaint cottage with steeps of history around. Personal outside area is great for relaxing as it's secluded and quiet. Inside has evrrything for a peaceful and charmimg stay with extra touches such as local Gingerbread and breakfast already provided (just needs cooking), coupled with fruit. We only had four days to visit family, but had all amenities within short walking distance. Highly recommended and although we didn't have time to meet Sarah the host, due to a very early flight home, she kept in regular contact and was very helpful and friendly.

The house is also situated in the heart of Market Drayton, with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The breakfast selection was delicious and varied, giving us the perfect start to the day. We will return for sure!

  • First-class hosts in a lovely house close to the town centre.

    Simon2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jean and Cyril make you feel you’re at home. They are very kind and generous and nothing is too much hassle. The house is so beautiful and is spotless and they have thought of everything. Make sure you try their home made jam!

    Sarah2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • You will get a very warm welcome and Jean and Cyril very generously share their lovely home with their guests. We could not fault our experience and neither could our 16 year old son. The rooms are spotlessly clean and we found the beds the most comfortable we had experienced in other holiday accommodation. The breakfast was really good and Jean and Cyril are very interesting people to chat with. We rate it 5 star in every respect.

    John2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jean and Cyril are superb hosts, and their home is beautiful and very comfortable. This would be a wonderful base to explore charming Market Drayton and the beautiful area.

Whilst renovating we uncovered lots of original features such as gorgeous fireplaces that were previously bricked up, plus oak beams and stone walls hidden behind plaster. I fell in love with the place and whilst living always felt as if you were waking up on holiday every day. Great also is the tiny sleepy market town of Market Drayton its just 5 minutes drive away so you have the best of both worlds quiet seclusion with amenities and shops to hand. Downstairs, the kitchen and dining space for 6 people has a Cotswold stone floor, a modern 90cm range cooker, microwave, Dolce Gusto coffee maker and is well equipped for your stay. Patio doors lead to the garden and countryside beyond. Living room has a fireplace with stone lintel and working multifuel log burner and a further snug. • If you want peace & quiet in a beautiful cottage but with superb facilities then Hedgerow Cottage is the place. 3 big comfy beds, a kitchen with everything you need & underfloor heating, a fab log burner in the main sitting room. Our family had 3 generations & everyone found the cottage perfect. A great base to explore, we did 2 journeys of an hour & saw some great countryside on our way. Also recommend you get out & walk around & explore, some great public paths to follow. Definitely a place we will return to & for a bit longer!

  • Amazing host and amazing place! Couldn’t recommend more!

    Meg2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Air B&B trip and based on the listing we had high hopes. The property more than lived up to our expectations and is somehow better than the photos. Lisa is a great host and made our visit go perfectly as planned. Would highly recommend

    Les2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We knew the cottage was going to be fabulous from the photos, but it definitely exceeded our expectations. It was much bigger than we expected. The kids instantly fell in love with the underfloor heating in the kitchen! The rooms were all a good size, really clean and the decor was spot on. The cottage had high tech appliances (luckily for me I had teenage children who knew how to work the tv!). I loved lighting the fire every morning and the view from the garden was beautiful. We will be back when it’s not so cold and wet so we can make the most of the outside space.

Bothy Cottage is warm and homely - the perfect location for a short break or business travellers .Sitting in the grounds of a Grade II listed Georgian house, overlooking a charming cobbled courtyard and traditional walled garden. It has stunning views across the fields. Open the door and walk straight out into the stunning gardens of Betton House and carry on into the Shrophire countryside, where you'll feel a million miles from the busyness of life.
Guests are welcome to explore the gardens and surrounding fields. There is also a fire pit outside the cottage, which guests are invited to use and you can also find quiet places to sit and observe the bird life. The Shropshire Union Canal is nearby and the area boasts many footpaths and rights of way for good walking. The bed linen is of finest quality and 100% Egyptian cotton. The cottage heating and hot water are generated using geothermal ground source energy, promoting a more environmentally friendly stay. There is now a cleaning charge due to deep cleaning of cottage and laundry because of Covid- 19 as its taking us much longer. Sorry We provide the logs for the fire pit.
Just over a mile from Market Drayton where you will find all the services of an English market town. Having said this, it is the Shropshire countryside that surrounds Betton and its quiet serenity that you will be enjoying. North Shropshire offers fabulous gardens and houses open to the public. Wollerton Old Hall gardens are 15 minutes away also Dorothy Clive Gardens are the same distance. Trentham Gardens are a 30 minutes drive away. Hawkstone Follies is a fascinating visit, great walk combined with history and geography and spectacular views on a good day for miles . A slightly longer drive is Stoke on Trent, the home and heart of the British pottery industry with the Wedgwood museum and other factory shops. Shrewsbury, with its many fine buildings, is located 30 minutes away.
  • Nathalies place was absolutely spotless and extremely comfortable. The surroundings were beautiful. The apartment had everything you could need for a stay. The breakfast that was provided was outstanding. A short drive to the local village. Overall great stay! Thank you.

We look forward to staying again, in such a wonderful cottage.

Upstairs was lovely and warm with living room, 2 good size bedroom and a bathroom with great shower. Property is very close to a pub which we didn't use but ordered an Indian take out instead - got the number from a welcome pack a the property which was full of really useful info about the house itself and things to do in the area. • Super cute and cosy place - we absolutely loved staying here and didn't want to leave! The wood burner was pre-lit for our arrival and stayed toasty and cosy all evening. The furniture and mod cons are all fantastic, bed is super comfy and the additional touches of fresh flowers, a bottle of prosecco in the fridge and some fresh bread/eggs was lovely. Wendy was super helpful with local tips and check in - we'll definitely be back if we're in the area again!

My home is a cottage in a small hamlet 50 yards from the Shropshire Union Canal. You will love my place because of the peace and quiet and lovely views of the Cheshire Countryside. It is an ideal place for couples or solo travellers. The village of Audlem (with three pubs) is within walking distance along the canal tow path.
Coxbank is very quiet and feels like a forgotten haven away from busy roads. That said the village of Audlem is only a mile walk down the canal tow path. If you want peaceful walks around the Cheshire/Shropshire countryside my cottage is ideal.
  • Great little find for an escape in lovely countryside and Monique's famous breakfast.

    Victoria2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Monique is a wonderful host. I wouldn't normally choose to stay in a private house as I sometimes feel that your are intruding,. Monique's place was close to where I needed to be in Audlem and is an absolutely charming property. Monique made us feel very welcome, she was so chatty and we certainly didn't feel unwelcome. Our room had everything you needed, the bed was very comfy and everywhere was very clean. She provided a superb full English breakfast, including oat cakes, which was a real treat. I would definitely recommend a stay with Monique.

    Claire2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Monique was the perfect host, she left the keys for us and cooked us a lovely breakfast and was extremely friendly. Would highly recommend a weekend stay with her.

    Bertie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect the most comfortable bed with feather duvet and pillows. The bathroom is sparkling clean with one of the best showers I've used. Monique is delightful company and gave us full cooked breakfasts - delicious. Rose Cottage is in a charming village and we had a great walk along the canal in the sunshine.

    Gill2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A warm welcome for both us and our dog, great communication, extremely clean and fantastic early, very early breakfast

    Rachel2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • a little gem hidden away in the countryside with a fantastic host who treats you like a family friend, we were made to feel so at home in this beautiful old house, and for us who live in the city, to be somewhere with no sound of traffic at all was so relaxing

    Michael2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Monique will welcome you into her quirky but brilliant cottage with open arms and you won't want to leave. I can't say anything better than that, can I???

    Neil2018-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Monique offers a real home from home stay. She is lovely to talk to and so knowledgeable about the area but equally offers plenty of privacy. Worked really well for us staying in the area for a wedding. She went above and beyond and even took our dog out for a walk whilst we were at the wedding. Her dog is lovely, very calm and amazingly tolerant of our persistent younger dog! Many thanks for everything

My place is good for couples, individuals, and business travellers. Set on a farm in rural Shropshire but accessible, 12 miles from the M6.
The accommodation is a recently restored Georgian kitchen and scullery, separate from the main house, with the original 19th century bread oven as a central feature. This is a bucolic idyll which is a real rural retreat for visitors to the area but has also been enjoyed by musicians, writers and academics as a place to work.
Beautiful rural Shropshire, in 36 acres of park and farm land which you are welcome to roam through. The local village is Norton-In -Hales which is walking distance to a very nice pub.
  • Really beautiful place and very friendly hosts. Underfloor heating is a treat! Remember there is no wifi though and I could barely pick up phone signal (had to go outside)

    Phil2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous setting, beautiful conversion and great hosts. Highly recommended.

    Kate2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing - a beautiful little oast house, in a picture perfect rural idyll ... nothing that hasn't already been said. I'd give 7 stars if I could.

  • This is a lovely country place with immaculate mod cons (note: no wifi) however it is beautiful and watching the peacocks is very entertaining.

    Louise2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Bread Oven is a suitably sized property of a extremely high standard. It’s perfect for couples and I would even consider staying here when I work away from home. It will exceed your expectations inside and out. The host was lovely and made sure we had info on the location and helped with taxi numbers. Located in impressive grounds of an estate, you will go a long way to try and find a place of this standard. One of the best places on AirBNB we have stayed in.

Spend a magical holiday in our Shropshire-made Mongolian yurts, privately situated on our 140 acre organic farm in Shropshire’s Tern Valley. Our yurts are perfect for a romantic hideaway or a family adventure. Complete with compost toilet, camping shower, beds, wood burner, gas BBQ, bed linen for 4 and even a kitchen sink. At the right time of year there is also an edible garden including marigolds, mint, gooseberries and damson trees, meaning you won’t have to go far for that quick snack!
Our two yurts are interconnected, providing the perfect getaway for up to six people. One is used as the bedroom and the other the living space. Epitomising the glamping offer (glamorous camping) whilst still providing you with the feeling of camping out with nature, we want you to feel spoilt and inspired. There is a gas powered cool box for example, but nowhere to plug in your hair straighteners or toothbrush! (Also no Wi-Fi) The yurts are insulated with sheep’s wool, have cotton sheets on the beds, decking to sit out and admire the views along the Tern Valley, and a book shelf stocked with everything you could ever want. A holiday in our yurts is about enjoying and feeling part of nature, with that little bit of extra comfort. Plus you have the farm shop and Arthur’s Farm Kitchen not too far away yurts for those essentials, such as a cooked breakfast, Sunday roast or pack of free range Gloucester Old Spot sausages!
The Farm Shop sells a variety of produce: Milk, butter and bread, seasonal vegetables, cheeses, drinks, jams, chutneys, drinks, sweets, biscuits, cakes, ice cream, pies, cooked meats, butchery counter, beer, cider, wines. Arthur’s Farm Kitchen serves cooked breakfasts, hot lunches, Sunday Roasts, light bites, cakes and drinks. Sainsbury’s Local: 203 Shrewsbury Rd, Market Drayton, Shropshire TF9 3EH, tel: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) minute walk) Morrisons Supermarket: Maer Lane, Market Drayton, TF9 3AL, tel: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) minute walk) Cash point: Sainsbury’s Local Garage: Shell Ternhill, Chester Road, Market Drayton, TF9 2JQ, tel: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) miles) Closest pub is the Kings Head (20 minute walk), we recommend the Red Lion (Joules Brewery) (40-45 minute walk) Market Day in the town centre – every Wednesday there is a lovely street market in Market Drayton.
  • Absolutely perfect weekend in the perfect space. As a family of five, the yurt had everything we needed. We lived by candlelight, through storm Dennis and it rained a lot but it didn’t matter!!! We put our coats and wellies on and we got wet and muddy and we didn’t care. We had no electricity, no technology, we climbed trees, we played board games, we read stories, sang songs and pretended to make YouTube videos. We laughed, we used a compost toilet, woke up to cows and baby piglets, climbed trees, made leaf pies, cooked beans on toast on an open fire, rode down the hill in a trolley, played stuck in the mud tig and occasionally got stuck in the mood...we even managed to barbecue and we loved every second of it! Fordhall Farm and Charlotte we can’t thank you enough for the perfect stay, from hidden gingerbread men to the birthday card you left for my 6 year old, it was just fantastic. We’re home now with bin bags full of washing and muddy boots but we had the best of times❤️

  • Cannot recommend this place enough! The perfect get away for friends or family and so serene! We had no problems and everything was perfect for our stay! Thanks again for a great holiday!

    Lois2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • As expected..mud, puddles, the great outdoors and farm animals! Lovely weekend in this fabulous yurt. A great getaway weekend to celebrate my friends birthday :) would love to come back in the summer.

  • Fordham Farm yurts are an excellent place to unwind and relax in a farm atmosphere. We loved lighting the fire and seeing the gorgeous farm animals every morning. The farm kitchen and store looked lovely and we wish we had more time to cook with the produce! Definitely bring your wellies and don’t over pack like we did! Also plenty to do in the surrounding areas and market drayton has a very friend community feel.

  • Great place to stay we really enjoyed our adventure

    Michael2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Yurt on a sunny weekend in June and had the most wonderful time. The Yurt had everything we needed for a perfect weekend away, we visited both the farm shop and the cafe on site too which were delicious. The Yurt is in a fabulous location just a short walk from the farm through cattle fields with no neighbours apart from the farms animals. Our little boy loved watching farmer bed herd the cows in a morning, especially when they ran straight past our gate. The Yurt has great facilities for children with two toy boxes, lots of board games and a folder full of activities to explore the nature around. The staff were lovely, if we were unsure or had a problem they could not do enough for us. We used the new showers in the bunk house because it was vacant, which were beautiful and very clean. I would not hesitate to stay in the Yurt again or recommend this stay. If there was one thing missing, it was that we could not bring our dog even though dogs are allowed on leads throughout the farm.

  • Enjoyed our stay, brilliant place, amazing shop and servicex Kids loved it, would recommend x

    Nadine2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic location, fantastic experience for the kids and overall just really great to deal with from start to finish. Instructions were super helpful and local guides for the area were great. Just a beautiful place to stay with the fire burning, and amazing place to wake up as well. Loved the little walk through the field, and all the little details that were in the yurt. Ver y cozy space. The only downside was it was too cold to sit outside and use the barbecue area, but we shall certainly be back to do so again! Massively recommended!

Betton Cottage is a spacious luxury apartment in the grounds of Betton House, a Grade 2 listed Georgian house and former hunting lodge of the Duke of Sutherland. Featuring high ceilings and gorgeous period features, the property has been renovated following the popularity of Groom's Cottage, which is also set in Betton's historic stable yard - see link below. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/30371235?guests=1&adults=1
Open the door and walk through the yard to the gardens and into the undulating English countryside, where you’ll enjoy refreshing walks through the Shropshire landscape, feeling a million miles from the busyness of life. Guests are welcome to explore the gardens, and surrounding fields. There is also a fire pit outside the cottage, which guests are invited to use and you can also find quiet places to sit and observe the bird life. The Shropshire Union Canal is nearby, and the area boasts many foot paths and rights of way for good walking. The cottage heating and hot water are generated using geothermal ground source energy, promoting a more environmentally friendly stay.
Just over a mile from Market Drayton where you will find all the services of an English market town, having said this,it is the Shropshire country side that surrounds Betton and its quiet serenity that you will be enjoying. North Shropshire offers fabulous gardens and houses open to the public to visit. A slightly longer drive is Stoke on Trent the home and heart of the British pottery industry where the Wedgwood museum is and other factory shops are Shrewsbury at about 30 minutes away with many fine buildings.
  • Betton Cottage is an Air Bnb of dreams! The cottage is situated in the most tranquil setting, and is beautifully decorated to an exceptional standard throughout. Visited at the end of January and the cottage was plenty warm enough. Nathalie and Christopher provide a warm and friendly welcome and ensure guests have everything they need throughout their stay. Several additional thoughtful touches, such as fresh flowers from the gardens in every room and a selection of freshly baked goods, were much appreciated. The gardens are a wonderful bonus, we enjoyed the impressive array of snowdrops. The fire pit set up is a great idea and we enjoyed sitting under the blankets provided listening to the owls. My friends and I left feeling well rested and well looked after, and would return in a flash!

  • Clean spacious cottage in a beautiful location

    Mark2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing place to stay. Lovely location, homely and exceeded our expectations. We would love to stay here again we would definitely recommend to others! Superb

    Rachel2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nathalie is a wonderful host and the attention to detail in the property is second to none. From a delicious array of breakfast things to feast on to leaving out fantastic children’s books which our children loved! It was a home away from home and we had a fantastic stay. The property is beautifully finished and very comfortable and warm.

    Rachel2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxing time spent in beautifully furnished cottage. Immaculate garden and peaceful setting in the middle of the countryside, but only 5 minutes from Market Drayton’s shops and restaurants. The hosts have thought of everything and we are grateful for their hospitality. Best 4 nights sleep in years!

    Hannah2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and lovely accommodation. Breakfast provisions were superb, as were the cakes that Nathalie had very kindly baked for us!

    Alexandra2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay, Nathalie goes above and beyond, we enjoyed the most fantastic homemade baking. Nathalie was an amazing host. The cottage was stylish and very comfortable with every thing thought out. We stayed with a toddler and baby, Nathalie had thought of every thing it made travelling easier and a little lighter. Even adding child friendly bedsheets/books/ added to the excitement of having own room.

    Rhian2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an impromptu 3 night stay and we were not disappointed. The house and surroundings are beautiful, with the cottage decorated to very high standards. The breakfast being included was a nice addition and made us feel very welcome. The weather wasn’t great and the cottage a little cold in the evenings but there were many blankets available so it had little impact on our stay. The location was great which made it a good base for exploring the surrounding area. Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend.

West facing exposure and fronting the Shropsire Union Canal means sitting in the afternoon sunshine. Walking distance to town. Two parking spaces. Conservatory and modern kitchen. Two floors. Master bedroom and further guest bedroom with hideway bed upstairs. Pleasant environment on a very quiet road. Watch the narrowboats go by.
Please note: We charge a one time cleaning fee of £40
Queit neighbourhood. Very little local traffic. Walks along the canal. Sit outside in the afternoon sun.
  • Sparkly clean, very easy parking right next to accommodation. Comfortable and all we needed for a base during our trip. The canal walks were really lovely, and we found other dog owners were really sensible and had their dogs under control when approaching, which is refreshing. We walked to The Red Lion for dinner one evening, which only took about 15 minutes. Marks communication was excellent, and much appreciated.

    Wendy2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for our young family to stay while visiting family in area. House spotless and in great location for walks along the canal etc. Plenty of essentials and tips for area which allowed us to "move in" for our short stay perfectly.

    Fraser2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it here. Right by the canal, peaceful, tranquil, lovely area. Fed swans just beyond the front gate and enjoyed a beautiful walk in the sunshine. Inside was clean and comfy. Bed was great. Lovely sleep here. All the mod cons. Everything worked and was to a high standard. Fab place. We will be back. Thank you 😃

    Holly2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a little gem! Right on the canal with some lovely walks. Loved the sight and sound of the little boats chugging along outside. Everything was super clean and comfortable. We bought shopping for a few days and cooked; everything was there to do this and helpful information on how to use all of the facilities. Nice comfy beds too. We loved our stay and I have no hesitation in recommending this little gem to others.

    Beverley2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cosy and comfortable. Recommend to all.

    Patrick2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this house. The location was great, by the canal but within walking distance of great pubs and restaurants. It was spotlessly clean with a really comfy bed and excellent facilities.

    Judith2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing. There's swans and ducks you can feed in the morning. Sit outside and watch the narrow boats pass by. Take a walk down the canal, either way to experience some great countryside views and local Pubs. Great location for short distance to south Shropshire hills, Wales or Staffs peaks. Great conservatory too. A little gem.

A simple cottage with a private garden with fruit trees. In the quiet countryside, in the grounds of Buntingsdale Hall, a private manor house with woods and a lake. Two miles from Market Drayton
White painted and simply decorated, a little cottage in the grounds of Buntingsdale Hall. A wartime building restored as a cottage. Painted white, with simple, neutral furnishings, and cotton duvet covers and pillows. The kitchen has been restored with a huge slate sink from a Welsh farmhouse. In the middle of woods, with visits from badgers, foxes, buzzards and the occasional polecat! Access to large private lake and wild lakeside, with river's edge.
Very quiet and green, with dark skies at night. A rural area, but within 2 miles of Market Drayton (7 minutes by car, 35 minutes on foot), a historic market town with a street market every Wednesday. Close to Fordhall Farm, a community farm with children's activities and a great farm shop and cafe. Twenty minutes drive to Shrewsbury, a busy regional hub.
  • We had a lovely stay at Victoria's place. Great communication with our host. Very tasty welcome treats. The cottage is rustic, clean and has good bedding. We really enjoyed the walk around the lake. The red Lion in Markey Drayton is excellent!

  • We would have loved to be staying longer than one night. The annex is modern and very well appointed. The breakfast items were great and much appreciated. We did not meet our hosts but the thought and consideration in the items provided speak volumes in the fact that they care about your comfort while staying. Next time we are in the area we will definitely look to stay again.

  • Although this is attached to the main house the actual experience once you are inside is the feel of a separate country hideaway. It is beautifully furnished with a lovely comfy bed in the eaves with surrounding silent countryside. The added touches of breakfast all setup and ready for you are the equivalent of staying in a top boutique hotel but obviously for half the price! It is local to a well renowned restaurant and a lovely country pub that we have tried and tested in the past and lots of options for days out. The hosts couldn’t be more pleasant and we would most definitely stay again.

  • Janine's place is lovely,it is as advertised in a really sweet location. It was really cool staying in the heart of a proper farm, the animals were curious and the kids loved feeding the sheep. Would totally recommend and I'll definitely keep Janine's place in mind when visiting that part of the country again 👍

  • After a 2 night stay in the Wrekin view caravan what can I say? It truely was the best weekend. The hosts Janine and Chris are so lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. They were always available but never invading your privacy. Such a friendly couple, they would stop for a chat and just to ask if you needed anything. We turned up on a friday afternoon to prosseco in the fridge along with fresh chicken eggs. Such a thoughtful touch. The caravan its self was clean, amazingly stocked and had the best views. My 3 year old loved the animals and made some amazing friends, including bam bam (pig), harry (lamb) all of the lindseys (chickens), moss the sheepdog and both the cats!! The animals are so well loved and are looked after so well. Its was total peace and quiet while we were there, and would go back in a heart beat. Thanks again so much for everything..including the butter that i forgot to pack haha

This warm and homely Groom's Cottage is the perfect location for a short break or business travellers. Sitting in the grounds of a stunning Georgian house, accessed via a traditional walled garden and overlooking a classic cobbled courtyard, this beautiful setting is perfect for relaxing in front of the fire or open the door and walk straight out into the English countryside, where you’ll enjoy refreshing walks through the Shropshire landscape, feeling a million miles from the busyness of life.
Breakfast is provided . Guests are welcome to explore the gardens, and surrounding fields. There is also a fire pit outside the cottage, which guests are invited to use and which we provide the logs for. One can find quiet places to sit and observe the wild life around the gardens. The Shropshire Union Canal is nearby and the area boasts many footpaths and rights of way for good walking. The bed linen is of finest quality and 100% Egypt cotton. There is now I’m sorry a cleaning charge because of Covid-19 as we are deep cleaning between guests which is taking much longer. The cottage heating and hot water are generated using geothermal ground source energy, promoting a more environmentally friendly stay.
Just a mile outside of Market Drayton, there are all the services of an English market town just a short journey away. Having said this, it is the Shropshire countryside that surrounds this cottage and its quiet serenity that you'll be enjoying. One of our favourite walks is at Hawkstone Park with its Follies. North Shropshire boasts many stunning gardens and historic houses that are open to view. Wollerton Old Hall gardens and Dorothy Clive Gardens are about 15 minutes drive away. Hawk stone Follies is a fascinating visit, great walk combined with history and geography and spectacular views on a good for miles. A slightly longer drive into Stoke-on-Trent takes you to the heart of the British pottery industry where museums and factory shops make for a brilliant day out. Shrewsbury , with its many fine buildings is located about 30 minutes away.
  • What an amazing little cottage for our weekend away! Thoughtful touches all over, including fresh flowers, coffee and salmon, host Nathalie and Christopher went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The log burner was amazing! Location is ideal with Market Drayton just a short taxi ride or drive. Stoke on Trent also very close! Shame we had to go home! Would have stayed forever!

  • Betton house and the surrounding landscape are serenely situated for the best chance to relax and explore the local area. Groom’s & Bothy cottages are gems, which are definitely “keepers,” where we would be delighted to return for a future stay. One regret is, not staying longer and making the most of the weekend. Nathalie and Christopher’s warm welcome, not to mention the attentive touches, numerous details within, as well as externally, i.e. (locally sourced eggs, homemade preserves, fresh logs, original cobbled court yard, walled garden and open pasture beyond etc) we couldn’t ask for a better, private and tranquil spot, which all made for a wonderful stay. Thank you from Dione and Dorothy

  • Ideal location for a quiet countryside break with lots of places to enjoy for walking. The accommodation is quiet, clean and very comfortable.

  • As you can see from the photos the place is lovely but for me it was the hospitality that made this trip one to remember. Nothing was too much for Nathalie day or night and her response times to my requests were amazing. Nice little touches like cake, salmon and fresh fruit and bread available during the stay. A++++.

  • A beautiful cottage for our 1 night break. Nathalie was a great host and made us feel very welcome. There were thoughtful touches throughout the cottage such as home-baked treats and lovely toiletries. We made use of the log burner and outdoor fire pit and had a super time. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend the cottage.

  • Our family had a lovely stay on Janine and Chris’ farm. They are excellent hosts and we enjoyed the special touches including the fresh eggs from their chickens. The place was sparkling clean and there was lots of local information. Would definitely stay again.

  • We had a great 2 nights on the farm in Shropshire. We were welcomed and shown around and we appreciated all the thoughtful little touches. Our daughters loved being so close to the animals and the highlight was the 2 day old piglets. We would recommend and hope to be back again one day.

    Ellie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Janine's caravan on the farm was a fabulous place to stay for our short break and convenient for our trip to Iron bridge and Blist hill. The caravan was spacious, very clean and had a good powerful shower. We would definitely like to stay again and recommend highly to other guests.

    Cheryl2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing time at Janine’s place. Janine and Chris are wonderful people and the place is full of postivity. My kid loved to play with sheep and other animals. It is relaxing place and we enjoyed our time

  • Stayed here overnight on our way home from Alton Towers. We were amazed with everything from the caravan being huge and sparkling clean to the great location on the farm. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming and gave us a great reccomendation for a place to eat after a long day out. The caravan has so many thoughtful touches and the hosts have really thought of everything. We enjoyed exploring the farm and meeting all the animals.

    Huw2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Janine was great host gracious and welcoming, the accommodation is great I highly recommend it.

    Abdullah2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most fantastic time with Janine and Chris over the past few days. The kids loved Mossy and helping around the farm. The were out every morning with Janine to feed the chickens, ducks, lambs, pigs, walk Moss and give George and Ernie the rams a head rub. In the evening they went out with Chris on the Gator and put everything back to bed. It was the most amazing time, and we all cannot wait to go back there. The accommodation was brilliant and clean with excellent facilities. But it was the warm welcome and interaction with Janine and Chris and the animals that made it so special.

  • Beautiful, characterful home and gardens in a fantastic location. Melanie and Tom made my brother's wedding weekend feel extra special. The whole family were made to feel extremely welcome and were really looked after (from lovely breakfasts to coming back to a log fire in the evening). A brilliant stay. Highly recommend.

    Tom2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly beautiful old farmhouse in a secluded location, with good facilities in a relaxing setting. Melanie and Tom couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive hosts - it was more like staying with friends than being in the average B&B. We needed to make a last-minute booking (to attend a function at a nearby venue) with our dog and were lucky to find them. If you like modern, clinical hotels with TV and coffee-maker in every room, this is not for you - if you like characterful comfort with open fires, lots of books and pictures with people who like to chat and who care about your comfort it most definitely is.

    Ann2018-04-15T00:00:00Z

    Vicki2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This really is a very special place. A traditional farmhouse, decorated beautifully and home to the same family for generations , so thoroughly comfortable, homely and welcoming. We had an entire wing of the house to ourselves. Katie was a great host, making my 4 children very welcome and we had access to the kitchen when we needed it. There was plenty of hot water, the beds were lovely and the breakfast was super (particularly the excellent coffee). We used the house to stay over prior to the children going on a PGL holiday in Boreatton Park, about 45 mins from there but having stayed there, it would have been good to stay longer and explore the area as there seems to be plenty to do. I would highly recommend this as a special place to stay.

  • Darwin is a spacious converted barn and had been done to a very high standard. Stud farm is a field away from the Shropshire Union canal and Wharf Tavern pub. We enjoyed a meal there and was very glad that we booked as we may have been disappointed. All three bedrooms have an ensuite and are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was a delight to be welcomed by a gaggle of ducks each time we returned. Lynn and her family are all very approachable and accommodating. Thanks to you all. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Fantastic barn conversion and really well furnished and equipped. We don't cook a lot when on holiday but if you do you'll find a better equipped kitchen than you have at home (OK, better than we have at home). Three en-suite bedrooms and a further loo. A lake, ducks, chickens; can't recommend highly enough. Great location too, lots of places to visit a short drive away or you can just walk to the pub.

  • Tom and Melanie’s house is so big and beautiful! We stayed on the gorgeously hot bank holiday weekend and the gardens are vast and stunning. They had a BBQ there that they let us use. House is so well equipped. Rooms are huge and beds so comfy. The setting is stunning. So many footpaths on the doorstep for walks and going for a run. They place is dog friendly. Lots of towels, and they setup a travel cot for my little one. So affordable and if you want to get away from it all, this place is a tonic. Very highly recommended.
