Point of Interest
“This theatre was design by Henry Irwin, the famous palace architect, in the Gothic style during the Colonial Era. It was named after the Gaiety Theatre in London. It was supposed to be a Town Hall but quickly turned into the favorite hangout spot for young officers and their wives. Many famous people over the years including Rudyard Kipling and Shashi Kapoor performed here in their prime. ”

“This cozy cafe serves the best Hummus and pita bread you can find in Himachal. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options! Head on over for a warm cup of lemon-honey tea, a splendid view of the hills, and a happy belly. Their buckwheat flour pancakes and waffles are also delicious. ”

“The ridge runs parallel to the mall road. One can see famous structures such as the Gaeity Theatre and might even catch a stage play in house if lucky. The Ridge is connected to another famous place called Jakhoo Temple via walkable road and cable car which can be boarded from U.S Club gate (situated at 5 minutes walking distance from the ridge).”

Indian Restaurant
$$
“Located on the Mall Road opposite town hall it is a popular colonial era fine dine restaurant. Budget friendly and excellent services and staff. Our top recommendation not just for the food but for it's Iconic Status for being a relic of the era gone by. A must visit before 2019, since it will close all operations sometime in 2019 due very unfortunate circumstances after 60 years of consistently being the most popular eatery in Shimla. It serves Indian food but will notice the traces of Colonial British influence on the fine décor, mannerism and the menu at this place. You can the Indian or Chinese Main course. The ground floor of this place serves snacks. The Gulab Jamuns are a must have.”
