Movie Theater
“Alamo Drafthouse is our favorite theater in Lbk. We love that you can get your seats in advance and have your food and drinks brought to you in the theater. Or you can go early and get drinks and chips and queso or other appetizers in the bar. Alamo also shows old favorite movies regularly which is fun and we love their retro vibe. ”

“Triple J Chophouse has an in-house brewery that keeps several rotating craft brews on tap. Their food is excellent, and the service is always top-notch. If you’re looking for a great steak, burger, or chicken fry, this is the place to go. They usually have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s also located directly in the depot if you want to go out and enjoy some of the bars during your stay. ”

The NRHC features almost fifty authentic ranch buildings dating from the late 18th to the mid-20th century.  There are also events held throughout the year, including during holiday season such as Candlelight at the Ranch in December, so make sure you check what’s on when you are in town. 3121 4th St, Lubbock, TX 79409-4103 www.depts.ttu.edu/nrhc”

Park
“They are so cute ! Attraction at Mackenzie Park featuring prairie dogs & interpretive signage since 1935.  Prairie Dog Town is simply a small field full of prairie dogs, but it offers unlimited cuteness and it's hugely popular with visitors. It's also free. A very low wall surrounds the main area, where you can see dozens of the little fellows at any given moment, but the prairie dogs run freely all over the area; along the entrance road, in the parking area, even sitting on the fence. They go about their business, with little regard for visitors standing just a few feet away. You can watch them playing or hanging out by their holes, standing up on their back legs, peeping loudly, and then falling over in dramatic fashion.Prairie Dog Town is one of the top five most visited attractions in Lubbock.”
