Theme Park
“What is a trip to OC without a visit to the happiest place on earth? Enjoy the Disneyland park, or get a “hopper” pass to Disney and California Adventure. If you have to choose one, choose Disney, but if you don’t, choose both! The park offers everything from young kid attractions, shows, and thrill rides. Food favorites are at the stands (think turkey legs, cold giant pickles on a hot day, and churros). Try the delicious clam chowder in a bread bowl near the Haunted Mansion! California Adventure also offers a lovely winery. For a mid day break, take the monorail (near the Matterhorn) to Downtown Disney to enjoy lunch there. But don’t miss the evening shows and firework spectacular! If you’re around during the holidays, the snowfall and holiday shows are not to be missed!”

Observatory
“If you’re in the mood for a star sighting (as in Alpha Centauri, not Mena Suvari), you’ll love Griffith Observatory. Free public telescopes are available every night and while most locals skip the dome, you’ll find the 290-seat Samuel Oschin Planetarium inside, offering three live projection shows presented by a storyteller. And whether you decide to drive or hike to Griffith Observatory, you’ll always leave starry-eyed after enjoying the best views of the famous Hollywood Sign. What to know before you go: The Griffith Observatory is open 12pm to 10pm Tuesday through Friday and 10am to 10pm Saturday and Sunday, and admission is always free.”

Art Museum
“LACMA is definitely one of LA’s coolest attractions. Outside it has the famous row of lights that attract a number of tourists and there’s a lot of other cool art inside that’s worth checking out. It also has a solid (but pricey) outdoor restaurant called Ray’s & Stark Bar, which is great for happy hour or a bite between exhibits. The Jazz at LACMA summer series is a free outdoor performance by SoCal jazz musicians with special appearances in the past by jazz legends like John Clayton, and Billy Childs. What to know before you go: LACMA is open 11am to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 11am to 8pm on Friday, and 10am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday.”

Park
“Just two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, Runyon Canyon Park is an often overlooked urban park that offers some great views. Atop the canyon, you can glimpse views of the San Fernando Valley and the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Hollywood Sign and Giffith Observatory. The park also boasts several hiking trails and is a popular spot for celebrities to exercise. Travelers say that the canyon is reminiscent of Old Hollywood with several old mansions and estates scattered throughout the park – keep your eyes peeled as you follow the trail. ”

Art Museum
“The Broad is two floors filled with canvases, sculptures, and immersive installations that will you give you sensory overload from the moment you step foot inside. The Broad is the kind of museum that even non-museum-lovers can appreciate, because the collection’s varied enough that there’s something for everyone and they always seem to have special installations coming in and out so be sure to be on the lookout because sometimes they require booking in advance. What to know before you go: The Broad is open 11am to 5pm Tuesday and Wednesday, 11am to 8pm Thursday and Friday, 10am to 8pm Saturday, and 10am to 6pm Sunday. General admission is always free, but it’s done through a reservation system, so plan ahead. ”
