  • Jessica and Adam were great hosts. It was clean, comfortable, and their instructions were all spot-on. Their pets are very friendly. Loved that they provided Netflix. House is an older house and has its noises and quirks, but it was perfect for what we needed.

  • Jessica and Adam's place was very clean, cute, and comfortable! They were both so accommodating, and Jessica was a great source of information on New Haven and great to talk with. I will definitely be staying with them again if I come back to New Haven!

  • Jessica's place was wonderful. It was peaceful, clean, lovely, and very well-organized. We loved their decoration, which we found original. Also, their lovely cat Mister took very good care of us with a lot of caress and was very welcoming. We had a lovely stay, and really felt home. We even didn't want to leave anymore. Please do not hesitate to book with them, you won't regret it.

  • linnie is the consummate host with the perfect setting - incredibly welcoming and personable while allowing her guests to be comfortable with their privacy. a gorgeous home, i was welcomed by her adorable cat and little doggie, she had bottled water and a granola bar by my bed and the room was so clean and comfortable. linnie went out of her way to help me get to the ferry the next town over, and i so appreciated our brief but sincere conversations. you will leave this home feeling refreshed.

    heather2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Linnie's place was totally beyond expectations. Linnie is one of the kindest people I've met, she is so open minded and open hearted. The room was clean and I also got to borrow the bikes to drive around the city and go to the beach. Linnie's place is comfortable and she makes you feel like a part of her family. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Natasa

    Tyler2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Linnie's place was so wonderful! It was so cozy and linnie was so welcoming it just felt like home. I was up visiting my sister at the college and wished I was able to stay longer. The walk to both the train station and the college was not a bad walk at all. Linnie happened to be leaving at the same time as me a couple of the days and offered me a ride which was greatly appreciated. This is my first time using airbnb and I will definitely be using it again based on this experience!

  • Turmans apartment was incredible, very cozy and has everything you could ask for. The neighborhood is great, everything is in walking distance –university, supermarkets, downtown, etc. I wish I could’ve stayed even longer. Truman gave me a warm welcome, he picked me up at the train station, provided everything for a nice breakfast, coffee, fruits, bread, eggs …He was very generous, helpful and easy to communicate with if I had any questions I can only highly recommend Truman’s place to anyone staying in New Haven. It’s excellent! Thanks Truman

  • The apartment is great; very spacious and well equipped including laundry and full kitchen. Close to the Yale campus, hospital and a train stop. Truman and his wife were truly great hosts and always available if I had any questions. I enjoyed staying here.

    Lauren2015-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Truman was a great host – very easygoing and really nice, he even picked us up from the train station when we arrived and was super easy to work with when our plans changed last minute. We really appreciated how flexible he was, and especially being able to have such a cosy home away from home for a semester in New Haven.

    Emily2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Truman's apartment for 2 weeks and it was wonderful! The apartment was very nice and comfortable, spacious, had a very well-equipped kitchen and we did not have any problems. Truman was an incredible host: very responsive and helpful - and he even brought us some food at our first day! The location is also good (you need no car to go downtown/Yale/shopping etc.). Highly recommended!

    Ines2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't have done a better choice. The house is just perfect and I've had a very good month working at Yale and living over Truman's place. Truman picked me up from the station and was always very helpful and kind. hope to come back here next year.

The small hamlet nestled between Mattituck and Southold boasts a wonderful library, antique shops, 50's era diner, coffee shop, deli, salon, novelty shop, petting zoo, farm stands, fresh fish market, beaches, sailing and more - all within steps from our home. Albert Einstein once called Little Peconic Bay in Cutchogue "the most beautiful sailing ground I ever experienced." We couldn't agree more!
  • Place was great. Very close to wineries and restaurants.

    Andrew2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place was fantastic, and the surrounding area is beautiful. Many extras were provided for use including bicycles and coffee. Communication was easy and check-in went perfectly. We did have a couple issues with the bed being too soft and road noise in the morning, but all in all the place was great and everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful. All the pictures and descriptions were very accurate. This was a great way for us to see the area for a great value. Thank you to our hosts!

    Nicholas2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great long weekend on Long Island's Northfork at Alexis & Marco's apt! Great communication with the hosts, they had lots of suggestions for wineries, restaurants, etc to visit. Marco met us to show us the apt and give keys. The location was perfect, so close to everything. If it had been warmer would have loved to take advantage of the bikes and being able to bike to the beach, we did take our pup for a walk there, was very pretty. The apartment was clean and a great base to explore the area and wineries, restaurants and breweries. We would definitely recommend their apartment. We had a blast, thank you so much! Brooke & Jason

    Brooke2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Alexis's bungalow is just as described which means comfortable, everything you need is there, great location in an adorable North Fork town. Alexis and Marco were kind and helpful when I needed recommendations. My only disappointment was I was planning on using a bike to get around but since I'm short, they were too tall and both had bars so it just didn't work. I'm sure for most people that would not have been an issue. But I found enough to do within walking distance, so not so bad. Thank you Alexis and Marco for being excellent hosts!

    Barbara2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay at the Tudor Apartment! Alexis & Marco were excellent communicators and made sure to provide everything we needed. Even though we were their first official guests, they had a lot of finishing touches (e.g. beach umbrella, bicycles for getting around, snack tray). The apartment itself is in the heart of the North Fork wineries/ beaches/ shops/ restaurants. It's on a somewhat busy street but traffic slows down at night so it's not too noisy. The apartment is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. (Our typical Airbnb stays don't usually have the best beds and linens - but here we slept better than we do at home!) In short: a perfect place to stay in a lovely part of the North Fork. Kind & responsive hosts, tons to do in the area, and reasonable price. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Lindsay2015-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely spectacular stay, pictures don't do it justice, cozy in a nice way. Plenty of room, Alexis was exceedingly accommodating and responded to all inquiries quickly and thoroughly. Yard was spacious and the location was ideal. Anxiously awaiting an excuse to return.

  • The host canceled this reservation 20 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • I rented the place for my parents and they were just thrilled with it! They loved the house and its location, the fact that there were bicycles provided, and the hosts were a pleasure to deal with, very helpful and easy to communicate with. A+, thank you so much!

  • It is a lovely place! Walkable distance to train station (10-12 minutes walk only!). There are two Chinese restaurants nearby. The room I got is actually two twin beds room. It's very cozy and nicely decorated, I love it! It looks even better than Linnie's photos here. I wish I can add a picture with my comments. Definitely coming back!

  • Linnie is one of the warmest, most helpful and joyful persons I know. She will go out of her way to help others. The whole family and other guests have been most kind during my stay. The house is nicely decorated and clean. The house is in walking distance from University campus and a 10 minute bike ride away from a nice beach. The garden is lovely and the two cats and dog are just adorable.

  • I've stayed at many places but none compare to staying at Nor's Both Nor and Ben go to great lengths to make you feel welcome and make your stay enjoyable The studio is beautiful and has everything you'll ever need I can't say enough about how nice it is to stay there

    Tom2016-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nor exuded warmth and polite sensitivity. Thanks to her, the check-in and check-out processes felt like I was visiting an aunt. Nor greeted me with a generous tea tray, complete with snacks and chocolate. Nor gave me all the privacy I needed, yet she was just within reach if I needed anything (I didn't). The place was inviting, very clean and spacious. It is separated from the rest of the house, connected only through a kitchen door. There is a separate entrance to the hallway leading to the restroom and the bedroom. The decor seemed like it just came right out of a home style magazine, bright and unassuming, a great place to spend the weekend out of town. I could not have asked for a better first experience with Airbnb. I will be sure to visit Nor again.

    Daniel2016-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here again, also on business. Found the neighborhood quiet and safe for an evening walk. Nor offers a nice blend of conversation and privacy.

Pretty cool. Restaurants are a short walk across the street and the Thai place Little Buddha is as authentic as it gets. Thanks Maneesh, I will be back soon.

  • Maneesh was a quiet and respectful host. Very accommodating and helpful. His place was clean and I had all the room I needed. I would stay there again.

    Philip2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Maneesh was so fabulous. My daughter was set to arrive the same day of the big Eastern storm, so I reached out and he allowed her to drive in a day early. She got there a few hours before the storm and he directed her to Trader Joes down the road to get stocked up on what she would need to weather the storm. He made sure she was settled in and had his contact info, before he headed out to New York. He was so welcoming and helped her navigate her entry into the East Coast with her new job, with lots of advice and help.

    Elizabeth2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Maneesh is an excellent host. He made me feel at home from the beginning. I moved to Stamford on a short notice for work and stayed at Maneesh's place till I found an apartment of my own. The neighborhood is safe, and at a walkable to distance to almost many shopping centers. My office was also at a 7 minute walk from here. Maneesh drove me around to familiarize me with the downtown area and where I could look for apartments. He is highly educated and it was great talking to him after a tough day at work. The listing description was accurate to the dot.

    Swathy2015-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Maneesh did a great job of helping to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Always accessible if I had questions/queries and regularly touched base with me even though he was out of town. The apartment was great, in an awesome location - and exactly as described. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay!

    Claire2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay for the weekend and Maneesh was a gracious host, who made me feel like a regular guest in his home. He was very communicative about the details of my stay and was helpful with local information about the area as well. The room is large and the bed was very comfortable.. Overall, I'd highly recommend Maneesh as a host as well as the room I'm which I stayed.

  • This is a great place to stay. Melda is the most kind and generous host you will find. The bed is very comfortable, the apartment is clean and cozy. You will feel like you are staying at your mother's house, not at a stranger's. Location is very good as well - very close to everything. I highly recommend staying here!

    Mitchel2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Melda is a very accommodating and gracious host. The bedroom is your room, and the host seems to live with her family throughout the entire floor, which includes a living room with TV and a kitchen fully stocked and furnished. It is Melda's home, so be sure to treat it well. Since I was only there for the night as I was passing through the area, I did not get a chance to ever meet Melda, but she did speaks to me over the phone and seemed very affable. The bedroom itself has a full size bed, and an AC for the summer that works fantastically. There is wifi and a light in the room, but otherwise it is plain and does the job well. I did notice two bugs in the room, but with one quick clean up the room will be free of them.

  • Melda is a brilliant, warm and generous lady. I had a great experience being her guest and she is definitely a super host.

  • Melda is very friendly and the place is quiet and clean. I had a good rest at Melda‘s place.

  • As described all amenities were provided: shampoo, conditioner, body wash and towels. The property is well kept and the host is lovely and and quite hospitable. I would recommend it to anyone who needs access to Jericho or Hicksville (as it is right on the border).

Furnished bedroom with a shared bath in a separate wing of a retro styled home conveniently located in Westhampton Beach Village. Walk to Main Street, worship or LIRR, and bike to beach. I have bikes you can borrow and can add you as a guest to our village beach (about two miles away). Pet friendly. Guaranteed 100% free of Hamptons attitude! Also available on a monthly basis.
The rooms are freshly painted (white) and the hardwood floors have been refinished this summer. These rooms are in our "guest wing" and are specifically set up for guests (with none of our personal possessions).
Our neighborhood is a mix of smaller homes and people who have lived here "forever" and recent McMansion renovations.
  • Patti was very friendly and helpful. She made room in the refrigerator for me. The place is very clean. The furniture and the bathroom is a little older but good value for the money that they charge.

    Irina2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Patti's house was very clean and it was easy to come and go. I was able to use her bike and had a pass onto the beach. I would do it again

    Warren2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Patti's place was perfect. I had a fantastic solo get-away. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. The location was beyond amazing. I came without a car and getting around was easy - 4 minutes to the town and 10 minute bike riding to the beach. I brought my own helmet and used their bike for the weekend. I had a great time biking around and taking various scenic routes. Patti was very quick to reply whenever I had questions. Patti and David are also a very kind/cute couple. I would definitely love to stay at their place again.

    Imhee2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Patti & Dave are wonderful hosts. The house is within walking distance to - the train, Main Street, the movie theater, Bun & Burger (for breakfast), & Hamptons Coffee (near the rotary) for the best coffee in town. The room comes with the use of a bike - making the beach & Dune Road a delightful ride. The house attracts creative types - kindred spirits who value a rustic environment with the songs of crickets outside your room window. Enjoy! ....

  • This was a wonderful house - perfect for our weekend getaway. It's perfectly located in Greenport; within walking distance to the carousel, great restaurants and ice cream shops and tons of little antique stores. The house was big and fit our group well.

  • The house was beautiful and Carlos and Nicole were very attentive to any questions or needs that we had. It's just a short walk to the downtown area and there are many additional places within a short drive. My family and I had a great time.

  • Great stay for a family with 3 young boys. Charming, comfortable and convenient to town. We would stay here again if we return to Greenport.

  • Carlos and Nicole were very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure their home was ready for us! The location was absolutely perfect and my friends and I had one of our favorite girls' weekends together in Greenport. We checked out many of the places that Carlos and Nicole recommended and had a lovely weekend of fabulous meals and quality time reconnecting in their charming, historic home.

  • We were close to restaurants and the grocery store. We were a little disappointed in the amenities but we had a fun trip so we were willing to overlook the old windows and the cold showers. Very cute house in a very cute neighborhood.

  • We thought the Captain's House was a very good base for our 3 day visit to Greenport. The home was just as advertised. Not really "upscale", but clean, with comfortable beds, and a well stocked kitchen. There is a nice small sitting area in the yard. The window AC units did a nice job of cooling the house, even when it hit 90 one day. We split the house with another couple. There are three bedrooms, though one of the two queen bedrooms is pretty small and doesn't have dressers for clothes. The owners were extremely responsive every step of the way. I thought they handled everything great. I wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again. Greenport has a nice downtown, and good restaurants and shops easily within walking distance of the house. We took a great bike ride to the beach at Orient Point. There are tons of wineries, trails, beaches, etc. nearby, including s nice little beach right in town. The ferry to Shelter Island is just a few minutes away, and runs every 10 minutes in summer. So it was super easy to get there, and also hop another short ferry to Sag Harbor on the south fork

Right on the water! Charming, fully renovated Hamptons-style beach cottage nestled on 2 private acres on Long Island Sound. Stunning sunrise and sunset views! 150 feet of unobstructed beach front with seven easy steps down to the sand. Take a swim then rinse off in the outdoor shower. Property also borders a 13 acre spring fed, fresh water pond. Paddle in our kayaks to view egrets, herons, swans, ducks, and more. A unique vacation paradise offering both fresh and salt water fun!
Perfect for a single person's retreat, couples' get-away or a full family vacation. Completely renovated but we left the old, seasoned wood floor so there are no worries about sandy flip flops. We added concrete countertops so there are no worries about hot pans or juicy limes. Even the copper bar looks better with water rings. Open concept living room, dining room and kitchen. Covered porch with an awesome Weber grill. Master bedroom has a queen sized bed and a 9x9 dressing room with dresser, seating, closet and washer/dryer. The second bedroom is a 8'x11' loft with a double bed sized futon mattress. The loft may not be suitable for a young child. Additional sleeping space can be made in either the dressing room or living area for the twin or double AeroBed. Additional sheets are available.
    Quiet, residential neighborhood.
  • Beautiful, tranquil location - feels miles from the City, yet so close!

  • This cottage is just perfect. We planned to visit relatives while there but hated to leave this awesome spot! My daughters laughed at me as I kept saying over and over again how happy I was to be there. Patty is a wonderful hostess: she greeted us with homemade coffee cake, fruit salad, and a bottle of wine. We had everything we needed, a well-equipped cottage, sunrise and sunset views over the sound, secluded beach, lovely lawn and porch swing, and our daughters loved sleeping in the cozy loft. Even when it rained we had a lovely view of the storm over the water from the living room. One of the best places we have ever stayed--we definitely plan to return next summer.

    Kristen2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to the lovely cottage by the sea and it was every bit as special as the 1st! Patty is such a considerate host and the property is really well equipped ( great shower, kitchen, lounge bedrooms etc). The grounds lead straight onto the beach are so peaceful...only regular visitors are the deer, ospreys and the odd raccoon passing through in the evening!! In short if you're looking for somewhere to reset and recharge for a few days... look no further!

    malcolm2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a lovely weekend in Patty's Cottage. The cottage is located in a wonderful garden with a direct access to the sea . In the morning you can see the Sunrise on the sea and in the evening you can have a drink in the balancelle and watch the Sunset on the sea. Patty contage is extremely cosy and decorated with passion . It is a perfect place for a quiet and lovely weekend. Thanks Patty

  • Perfect weekend get away. Patty is a great host, very arranging and welcoming. The footage is charming and perfectly located on the beach.

  • This is a truly amazing place. The cottage is very clean and cozy and has a fantastic view on the sea. And the beach is just in front. We loved to use the canoes or go swimming, and use the hot outdoor shower afterwards. Patty is a very nice host, everything was very well organized and Patty even brought us a very nice breakfast for the first day.

    Daniel2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of three had a wonderful time at Patty's cottage. The property is beautiful and we felt relaxed the moment we arrived. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well appointed. We very much hope to return someday. Thanks, Patty!

    Kimberley2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • A truly wonderful stay at the beach for me and my husband and his parents plus our 7-year-old niece. The cottage was very nicely appointed; like others have noted, it's better than the photos make it look. And the view of the sound from the house is amazing, all that we were hoping for on our three-night trip. Almost everything you need for a day on the beach is there: an umbrella, chairs, a couple beach towels, a cooler and ice, beach toys.... Patty was an incredible host, leaving us provisions and bringing things over when we needed them. When I told her that my husband and I were coming from the city and planned to take a taxi, she even offered to pick us up in her Mini (we travel light so it worked out), but calling a taxi from the house was totally doable, too. Supermarkets and restaurants are within a 5- to 10-minute drive, and it can be a quiet base to explore Long Island. The only caution is that the ladder to the sleeping loft was a bit daunting for groggy ones who need to climb down and use the bathroom often during the night, but there was enough room in the living room to use the in-laws' double airbed, so it worked out fine. This was my first time using airbnb, and I had a great experience. I would definitely come back here!

  • It's always wonderul staying with Paul. This was my third time this year. Paul and his family are very welcoming and ensured that my stay was comfortable. Highly recommended!

    Scott2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Paul talked with me shortly after I arrived- he welcomed me and told me a little bit about the history of his home and the neighborhood. I like knowing about the places that I stay.

    Suzanne2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and his family were incredible hosts. He was incredible. He was flexible with our arrival and flexible with our departure. We ended up changing our entire itinerary based on our stay and our trip turned out becoming amazing. He educated us on the fact that we were staying in an old oyster house. His room was incredibly comfortable. He accommodated our desire for coffee and made us incredible home sprung eggs from his backyard chickens. His backyard was a wonderland and his family was so friendly. We even were able to borrow the canoe and go out on the river that is just a few houses down. The neighborhood is great and this stay made a very comfortable and loving impression on me and my girlfriend. Anyone would be lucky to stay here.

  • Absolutely loved this place! You basically have a studio apartment to yourself! The location was very cute, right next to the water and was very conveniently located to new Haven. The facilities were great. Just as pictured. Paul was very prompt at communicating and a pleasure to meet. I was interviewing for a job in the area and he gave me plenty of great advice about finding apartments, neighborhoods, etc. I would definitely stay there again.

  • This place was amazing! Newly renovated with a spacious kitchen and 3 full (super clean and new) bathrooms—plus, my favorite feature, a hammock in the back yard that was a wonderful place to relax in the evening. This was my first time in Greenport and I found the village so charming and sweet with great restaurants (we had our favorite meal at American Beech). We also loved taking our son on the carousel overlooking the water. We would definitely book Guillaume's house again and I can't wait to come back!

    Brooke2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Went up for a night and had a great stay. The house is very close to restaurants and shops in Greenport, a short and vey nice walk. Very nice recently redone interiors. Great shower doors. Beautiful back yard. I just regret not staying longer.

    Pedro2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house is remarkable and lovely. Well appointed, modern, minimalist, clean, up-to-date. The location is great...super duper quiet street but walkable to all points fun and interesting in Greenport. Communication with Guillaume was proactive, plentiful, polite, friendly, fast and lovely. I asked last minute to check in a little early and G. worked like mad to make it happen. He checked in with me to see if I needed anything part way through my stay. It was like staying at a close friend's house who was away. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in town! Thanks, G! xoxo

    Chris2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Having never stayed at an Airbnb my first experience was a 10plus, and has convinced me this outweighs the use of hotels when headed for a getaway! The house I booked could not have been more perfect, tastefully appointed with mid century furniture and beautiful artwork, it was incredibly comfortable. The kitchen so well designed and pleasing to the eye, as were each of the three bathrooms. All impeccably clean! The master bedroom was simply and beautifully decorated...the house included a very sweet nursery and a third tastefully decorated bedroom upstairs. My favorite part of the house was a comfy chaise, perfect for reading and an afternoon nap. A very bright and sunny space which had all the earmarks of a designers touch. And just a short walk to my favorite destinations in Greenport!

    Elizabeth2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The home is beautifully renovated and thoughtfully decorated with mid century furniture. It had everything we needed including a fully loaded kitchen. The home was much larger than it appeared in the pictures. We looked forward to coming back every evening and it was one of the highlights of our stay in Greenport. Guillaume was a great host easily reachable by text. He also left some local wine and fruit for us upon arrival. A great experience all around.

    Irene2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 6 friends staying at Guillaume's beautiful home in Greenport. This was easily the best Airbnb I have stayed in - everything was perfect from start to finish. Guillaume was very quick and helpful on comms. Check in was easy and the house itself has been renovated and finished to an exceptionally high standard. It was an easy walk into town (we didn't have a car) and the neighbourhood and the town of Greenport are both very pretty and charming. Guillaume recommended some great restaurants which was also helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone.

    Susan2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We took a chance on this house because it had no reviews and there was nothing left. It was one of the few available that didn't look like it was a victim of the '80s or '90s. G's house is absolutely perfect. Minimalistic but tastefully decorated, full of sun-filled rooms, brand new kitchen, an beautiful new bathrooms. The house is impeccably designed and full of gorgeous furniture and art. They were also nice enough to leave a bottle of wine and cookies. In short, the photos do not do it justice and we will definitely be back!

  • Good location, close to the university. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Plenty of parking space. Dana was very nice and helpful. Would stay here again.

  • A very spacious room with everything you could need. It was nice to have a small refriigerator/freezer and a microwave to make hot water for tea. The separate entrance means there is no worry about disturbing anyone. I would definitely stay there again.

  • A comfortable bed in a clean little studio apartment on the side of the house. For me it was the perfect place to stay when all I really needed was a quiet place to sleep while in Stony Brook for a few days. I didn't get to meet Dana but she was helpful and readily available when I had questions. Dana's place is on my list of places I would stay again without hesitation.

  • I had a wonderful stay, with a very kind and responsive host. Aside from some (bearable) stains on the shower floor, everything was clean and cozy. She even had an adorable salt/pepper shaker and left mints by the bed. I would gladly book again.

This is a gorgeous, newly renovated first floor apartment in a 100+ year old colonial house. The apartment is completely self contained and includes a dedicated parking spot and a patio. My wife and I live in the second floor apartment and are just steps away if you need any help or have questions. The train station, grocery stores, restaurants, and coffee shops are all a short walk away, less than 5 minutes. It's perfect for couples and business travelers.
This apartment is very clean, hardwood floors throughout, and has everything you need. The bedroom includes a queen size bed, a TV and brand new furniture from IKEA including dresser, closets, chair and desk. The bathroom includes a combination tub/shower and double vanity. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area includes a full range of appliances, a small dining table, and a large sectional for reclining and relaxing. All utilities have been recently upgraded. The apartment is heated/cooled by two mini-splits and you can adjust the temperature in the bedroom and the open area to your comfort. The bathroom floor is toasty warm on cold days thanks to the in-floor heating, and you never have to worry about running out of hot water as the apartment has a dedicated tankless hot water heater.
The apartment is a block away from downtown Pleasantville, where you will find restaurants, bars, grocery stores, delis, coffee shops and the famous Jacob Burns theatre.
  • I have nothing but positive things to say about Les and his apartment offering. My experience was fantastic. Les is communicative, quick to respond, and very hospitable and welcoming. I will be returning and I highly recommend Les's place.

The room is located between Yale New Haven Hospital and St. Raphael Hospital. Walking Distance to downtown New Haven. One small heads up, if your sensitive to noise this might not be the room for you. As the room is facing the street and there can be occasional noise. If the noise don’t bother you or If your ok using ear plugs I will be providing them.
Here are something's that are close to the house. Yale University, Simlow Cancer and Yale Hospital, St. Raphael hospital, Supermarket, Pharmacy, Downtown, Train Station and the Bus stop.
  • Modest accommodation in location near hospital. The actual room was fine and as picture describes but overall common space and restroom leaves something to be desired. Economical place for the night. May be worth it again.

    Bradley2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Location is not very good because of distance from New Haven downtow, but when you consider the cost it is not unfair. Actually the room was neat that you than photo and especially Rite aid is right across the street so it is convenient. You can see two adorable cats in living room, and the bathroom has enough water heat and pressure to take a shower before going to bed. However, because this room is quite close to the street, it may not be the best place if you want to have really nice and deep sleep.

Basement space semi private: with egress windows.Washer and dryer are there..... and my sons drum set which he plays sometimes at 2-4 pm. The bedroom is screened off from the rest of the basement so it is private.... Use of the entire home: click our other rooms for reviews.
I have lived in this space however my last guest who stayed with us from January to July said that in the winter he definitely used the space heater and in the summer he definitely used the dehumidifier... I keep the space immaculate: it is Not a finished basement: at the end of your stay, please strip the bed linens and re make the bed with the new linens available to you for the next student:) also place a fresh towel on the bed: This is the price of ADMISSION for the space being so cheap in an exclusive suburb:) you have to help eachother out...
All guests walk to stony brook university: on the corner of 25a is the stony Brook school, then the ThIRD house on the left that is white with blue shutters, is ours:D
  • Linnie's house was super good. She was more than helpful. Room was very cool more than my expectations. Her husband helped me alot. Her dog gave me very nice compnay. Lolz. Very nice, clean house and super conveniently located. Stony Brook university is at walking distance. I will recommend this place to stay either for short or long term.

  • Linnie Marie was a very gracious host. She was extremely nice and accommodating for us, and made sure that we were comfortable for our entire stay. We were staying for a collaboration meeting at nearby (walking distance) Stony Brook University, and this location was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable, and she even provided a little snack for us upon arrival. Fresh towels and linens were provided. Overall it was a very nice place to stay, and I would highly recommend it.

  • Linni Marie was FANTASTIC. She accepted my reservation on about 5 hour's notice, and gave great information and communication even though she was not home. I stayed in a basement room which was a tremendous value for the small price, and it felt warm and cozy. I recommend this host and this location whole-heartedly, and I hope I get to stay there again. (There was a really cute dog in the house too, and I LOVE dogs.)

  • This property is super clean, convenient, and oozes an incredible attention to detail by the owners for the benefit of guests. It is a great find!

  • We enjoyed our stay immensely. We arrived later than expected, but Hayley and Gregory were most gracious and kept in constant contact with us. If fact, we took a stroll though town after we arrived, and were recognized on the street by our hosts! Wow. The apartment was very well kept, in the center of town, perfect location. Everything was exactly as advertised. Right across the street from the American Hotel, starting the day with a wonderful breakfast on the patio. Sag Harbor was wonderful, plenty of great restaurants, and an unending list of things to do. Went to a winery, walking through Easthampton, surfing near Montauk, great beach on the east end (Coopers), even found a great late night Italian restaurant in Southampton (World Pie). All in all, a relaxing, romantic few days.

  • My Fiancé and I stayed at Hayley and Gregory's place and found it to be much nicer than advertised. The pictures of the apartment are beautiful and what initially drew us to the listing, however, the space is much more lovely and larger than it appears when you are inside. The space is filled with really unique touches throughout, high end linens and finishes as well as everything you should need for your stay. Our favorite part about the place is that you cannot beat the location, right on Main Street, short walk to all of what Sag has to offer. We look forward to coming back in warmer weather.

And Laureen's baking is off the chart! It was clean, private, comfortable and the private entrance made it so that I could come and go as I pleased without disturbing anyone. I would absolutely stay here again and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

  • We had a great three nights in Josue's apartment. This unit is so spacious and there was ample light for a basement apartment. The neighborhood was clean, quiet and beautiful. Parking was easy and was a great plus. City Island is so different from the hustle and bustle of NYC, it is such a charming place. We drove to Manhattan for two days which was very easy and visited the gorgeous New York Botanical Garden in Bronx which is very nearby. Would love to rent a gain when in NYC, and thanks for the bottle of wine!

  • A wonderful Airbnb. I would definitely come here again! Great space you feel like you are in your own home. The host Josue was very helpful in answering any and all of our questions. Great pillows on the bed which is always a plus. Walk in shower with great water pressure another plus. There is an area outside that you can sun, nap or sit and read a book. Very private and secure space. Considering we were there in 95 degree weather the apartment was very comfortable and cool. A wonderful location leave your car at home. You can walk, Uber or use the public transportation. Everybody on the island was very nice and helpful. Smile and ask questions. Who knew watching a movie in the cold of winter would lead me to this magical place.

    julie2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Place was exactly as described! Very clean and cute. We had 4 adults, and no complaints. City Island is a great place to stay, a little quiet for us on the weekdays, but I'm sure much more alive on the weekends. Easy to get to Citi Field, 20 dollar uber. Josue was great with communication and met us outside when we arrived. There are people that live upstairs, so you can hear them periodically, if you are looking for more private, may not be the place for you, but it didn't bother us one bit!

  • Amazing place for anyone interviewing or meeting around yale! Definitely will stay again!

    Sam2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is as described. Certainly not luxurious, but the bed is comfortable and the location makes it easy to walk around New Haven. There is a strong foul odor in the entryway that makes coming and going unpleasant, but other than that the unit was clean. My biggest complaint and warning for future guests: on the morning of our last day, a stranger entered the apartment claiming that he was a prior AirBNB guest who had forgotten his towel. The fact that the 4-digit code granting access to the apartment is not changed between guests is utterly unacceptable and poses incredible risk to all guests and their belongings. This neighbourhood and the general New Haven vicinity have high crime rates which, coupled with the fact that undoubtedly many prior guests still have the 4-digit code required to enter the unit, leaves this apartment entirely unsafe. We would not return.

  • This is a good place to stay at in New Haven. Nothing is very far from it. You can walk to the Yale greens pretty quickly and you are a couple blocks away from little Italy. The only issues we had were with the AC, on a hot day the main living area is not great to sit in, and with parking, but this is more of a New Haven issue it seems. Overall it is a good place to stay.

  • My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary and it was lovely! The apartment is stocked with helpful items and comes with a detailed guide. The details of the house are delightful. Our hosts were kindly flexible about arrival time and also had left us fresh cream, blue eggs and plenty of refreshments. A perfect getaway with a lovely yard which makes the place feel very private. Would definitely return!

  • Absolutely amazing experience. It was exactly what we were looking for if not more. We loved the food provided. It allowed us to make a cute brunch in the morning. We will definitely be returning and referring others to stay there.

  • William was a great host. I went for my birthday weekend with my girlfriend and had a lovely time. He even set out a cupcake for my birthday. He was quick to respond to any request. He was even nice enough to allow us to extend our checkout time.

  • This little retreat was exactly what we needed. Cute and cozy, super clean and spacious for how small the actual room was. Waking up to the green back yard was the BEST. William was great to communicate with and on the ball about everything. I would come back here in a heartbeat! Thanks William!

  • My host William was wonderful and attentive as were the dogs! The space was a perfect getaway for me to get some work accomplished. It's a unique retreat in a peaceful neighborhood. You will love it!

  • My parents stayed at this place about four weeks ago and they liked it so much that I decided to book it for my boyfriend and me too! Such a nice apartment, it's small but it provides everything you need and it's so cozy! It's a perfect get away as it's sour surrounded by trees and nature. William's dogs are very cute and William himself communicates fast and keeps in touch during your stay to make sure everything is fine. Would highly recommend his place!!

    Katharina2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure being on this property surrounded by the beauty and quiet of nature. The apartment is small but remarkably well-equipped. I especially appreciated Dr Bronner's and Meyer's soaps, heirloom eggs in fridge, and other earth (and human)-friendly touches. Wish I had longer than an overnight to explore the area. William was a friendly and welcoming host, quickly responsive to communications. I wouldn't hesitate to return, and recommend this accommodation.

  • Great place. No issues. Easy to work with.

    Maribeth2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and Jim and Carol made the process easy. From communication the first day to checking on us if we needed anything. We stayed at their studio apartment for approx 4 nights and basically had everything we need. They even provided for us snacks, oatmeals, water bottles, milk, coffee and tea. They have a microwave as well as full kitchen set up from forks to dishes and cups. The bathroom has extra towels and shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and lotion. Their bed is extra comfy too. They also give you wifi, which is nice when trying to do work at home. We stayed here bc our apt lease was up, but my husband still have to work for a few more days before we move back down to TX. They even offered us to use their beautiful deck. We were able to come and go as we please and the residential area is quiet. Overall we had a great stay. Thank you Jim and Carol.

When I have work out in the island, you bet I will be staying here again. Thank you so much for your hospitality, truly a pleasure.
