Places to stay in Llanfaethlu
A gorgeous and completely modernised cottage in a seaside village in North Wales. Beautiful 19th Century cottage that is a 2 minute walk to 2 beaches and the harbour. There are cliff top walks, local pubs, and a hot tub overlooking the river below.
Our cottage is a magical place. The stylish living and dining room has a wood burning stove and amazingly comfy sofas. Wait until you walk through to the back and see the view to the valley, the river at the back and the wildflower walk. It's a 19th Century cottage that has a lot of history. There are low ceilings and a quaint wooden staircase. It is fully modernised, so is very comfortable and there are full facilities such as dishwasher, electric shower and downstairs w.c. The kitchen at the back leads to the full spectacular effect of the house. There are opening doors in the kitchen/diner that lead to an upper decking where the hot tub is*. You walk out and can see the whole valley with the wildflower valley and river in all it's glory. Walk down the garden steps and get to a bench to view the beauty. The another set of steps and you're at the bottom and ready to sit on the table and chairs an have cocktails and dinner to the sound of the nesting birds and the river. *Please note that the hot tub may not be warm enough for use until the second day of your stay, as it is an environmentally friendly tub that takes longer to heat
Cemaes, a village on the most northerly shores of Anglesey, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is partly owned by the National Trust. At the back of the house, the garden looks out over the peaceful Valley of the Otters (‘Nant y Dyfrgi’ in Welsh), which is surrounded by woodland wildflowers (home to the famous ‘Wildflower Walk’). The river itself is called the River Wygyr which flows from just below Parys Mountain to the sea at Cemaes. It is joined along the way by the Afon Meddanen on Carrog Farm. The name Wygyr itself in Welsh means 'where two rivers meet'. The Valley of the Otters is a flood plain. Often during spring tide and/or periods of heavy rain, the river floods and the whole Valley becomes, effectively, a large river. During the right conditions, this can be quite a spectacular sight, which you can experience from the bottom of the garden but don’t worry, the decking is high enough for you to avoid the water (although you will get a much closer view of the ducks)! Cemaes is the most northerly village in Wales and was originally an ancient fishing village. The village includes a sheltered natural harbour that looks north to the Irish Sea and is a site of an ancient settlement that in more recent centuries has become a centre for maritime activities (as well as smuggling and piracy!) Between the end of the 18th and beginning of the 20th century the village was noted for producing salted herring, building ships, and brick construction from a nearby works. The brickworks was served by a narrow gauge tramway down to the sea (you can see the route of the tramline as well as parts of the old line from the garden on the opposite side of the valley). In the garden, see if you can spot the home-grown brick we found buried in the garden! The harbour (less than a minute’s walk from the house) is a characteristic part of the village. At the right times you can see fishermen return with their haul (Cemaes Bay lobster is shipped all over the world). You can do fishing trips from the Harbour and also boat trips to many of the surrounding areas of interest. Cemaes Bay has two sandy beaches – originally named ‘Traeth Mawr’ (Big Beach) and Traeth Bach (Little Beach) which are separated by a natural stone harbour that looks to the Irish Sea. At high tide you’ll hear the tidal bell chime as the waves roll to and from the beach. Around the village you will probably see lots of images of Cemaes in the old days. Large parts of which have not changed much over the last two hundred years. You may also encounter lots of flowers. The local gardening group, Cemaes in Bloom, maintain the village’s floral displays, and in recent years the village has won prizes with both Wales- and Britain-in-Bloom competitions. The village provides a great base to explore all of Anglesey – in particular the coastal path. Whether you head east or west you will find plenty of deserted beaches and desolate cliff tops to explore. Incidentally, if you enjoy photography, the area in and around the village provides some great sights and scenes for you to capture. In the living room you will see photographs of the harbour and a photo Porth Wylfa – a beach that can be found to the west of the village. To the immediate east there is the Porth Padrig beach, dominated by the large quartz rock known as the White Lady and Llanbadrig church – where St Patrick was shipwrecked and subsequently founded a church in 440 AD. Next to the church is a wooden bench where the Dalai Lama sat when he visited the area, declaring it to be ‘the most peaceful place on earth’. Facilities in the village itself: •The Stag: Good beer and excellent pub grub in Wales’ most northerly pub. Plays host to a live music night every few weeks on a Sunday night. •Harbour Inn: Great food and lovely views of the harbour. Dogs welcome as well! •Ye Olde Vigour: Old-fashioned pub full of character and personality. •Heritage Cafe: Tasty food and lots of interesting memorabilia about local history in the attached Heritage Centre •Eleanor Janes Deli and Restaurant: They do a fantastic cooked breakfast! •Woburn Hill Hotel: Bar and restaurant, serving locally caught fish, steak, lamb and farm produce. •Y Wygyr Fish & Chips: Award-winning fish and chips each frequented by people from all over the island. •Shops: On the High Street there are a handful of shops which include a grocery, a driftwood gift shop (next door), a little bakery (opposite), a butchers, a chemist, a hairdressers, a card/gift shop, three craft shops, an art studio and a gallery! If you have children, the craft shop opposite do various children’s workshops (which may keep them entertained for a bit if it rains!)

Over a mile long with a caravan site at the far end which has a small shop and a bar. That end usually gets quite busy but this end is normally quiet. Trefadog Beach is a small cove and doesn't get busy and is great for rock pooling and finding interesting creatures.
  • Was a great stay, the beach is beautiful and Bea was helpful and polite

    Charlotte2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying at the beach hut. The place was spotless and the prosecco/milk/eggs etc were a really nice touch. Bea was just a text away if we needed anything and the hot tub was amazing even in rainy/windy weather. The location is a little bit far from other towns but it doesn’t matter as they’re all driving distance, and you get to make the most of the lovely hut in the evening.

    Caitlin2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really nice stay at Bea's, feeling right at home we were provided with everything we needed. The weather was a bit wild but that added to the amazing hot tub experience. The shepherd's hut was cosy and we spent two lovely nights warmed by the fire.

    Gemma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place definitely recommend it to everyone and will definitely be returning

    Kelly2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Bea’s hut was an absolutely amazing break, beautiful views and amenities, extremely clean and I would highly recommend

    Atlantia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Bea’s Shepherds hut was immaculately clean and tidy and really cosy. The hot tub is a fantastic touch and it was ideally situated for walks along the Anglesey coastline. Would definitely return.

    Martyn2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Bea was a lovely, attentive host and although the weather was not the best due to the storm, she made sure our stay was as pleasant as could be and even offered us her own home when the weather felt too dangerous for us in the little hut. The hot tub was lovely and just what was needed in the winter weather although we couldn’t use it much due to the storm but it was great for the time we get to spend in it. Would definitely recommend Bea’s hut for a weekend away :) I can imagine the beaches and scenery are beautiful in better weather!

  • Lovely cottage with everything that you need. The children loved playing hide and seek and will have lovely memories from our stay. Really recommend it.

    Charlotte2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place , couldn't believe how amazing it was inside , really perfect for playing hide and seek, Atmosphere or anything spooky . Had such a laugh with 7 of us together . Brilliant places to visit nearby too, I recommend the old brick works on the coast. I can't find fault at all but would warn anyone extremely large will find it impossible to enter a few of the rooms . A few of us lot only just about squeezed in some doorways . But beds where comfy, the house was warm and cosy and there was everything you could need , guest book was worth a read and had a great collection of other books too .

    Rhonda2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The old stables is a lovely cottage ideally located for exploring Anglesey and Snowdonia. Jane is only too willing to help as a host.

    Tim2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nearly every review of the old stables calls it quirky and they are not wrong, with lots of nooks and crannys to explore and narrow passages and low doorways. The accommodation was very clean and all the beds comfortable. Great size living room and a dinky kitchen with everything you need. The secluded setting is beautiful although we did find you could hear some noise from the nearby A55 at night. Overall a lovely place to stay with great facilities.

    April2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quaint cottage was is bigger than you think from looking outside loads of rooms off with loads of nooks and crannies grandchildren loved the cottage. Lovely personal touches like shower gel, hand wash, shampoo and conditioner, tea, coffee, sugar to name but a few. Milk in the fridge on arrival and Jane even gave us another pint which was lovely of her. We all had a lovely break away.

  • We wanted a quiet night away on New Years Eve and found this lovely cottage, literally in the middle of Anglesey and away from it all. Great communication from Linda in advance of arrival, a warm welcome and explanation of the facilities - and also a warm welcome for our little dog. Thoughtful touches such as milk in the fridge, some tea, coffee and sugar were most appreciated. Lovely log burner and great central heating made it all cosy and warm. Good solid internet too and a nice job tv. Perfect!

  • Cosy house which was perfect for the ferry. Linda couldn't do enough for us. We didn't get to see it in the day as we were catching an early morning ferry. Smart TVa blessing and the home is very cosy.

  • Gorgeous little cozy cottage in the Anglesey countryside with great energy, very good value and super friendly hosts that communicated perfectly with us. We had the fire going in the evening as it was cold outside but the heating is also really good. Linda gave us a very warm welcome and then respected our privacy. Would highly recommend, thanks guys!

One of two delightful shepherds huts set in a 5 acre working smallholding with fabulous views over open countryside towards Snowdonia. This hut, Cae, which means field in Welsh, has a fold-down kingsize bed. The huts, hand-built to our design, are warm and cosy with electric heating, their own en-suite showers and gas cookers. The huts suit adult couples, looking for a quiet break. Each hut has its own firepit and BBQ, outdoor seating and blankets so you can sit and stargaze on a clear night.
The two huts are situated 50 yards apart, making them private spaces, but they are close enough together for someone looking for a holiday with friends. You can park very close to Cae and there is a gravel path up to its steps!
Llanfaethlu is a small village a mile from the beach, and there is a shop, post office and cafe all in walking distance. The North West coast of Anglesey is an area of outstanding natural beauty with amazing coastal walks and opportunities for birdwatching. It's a short drive to the holiday resorts on the South coast for surfing, shopping and eating.
  • We had a lovely stay in both huts after deciding to stay an extra night. They are both well laid out, are surprisingly roomy and have everything you need. The location is lovely with fantastic views during the day and a chance to star gaze on a clear night. Thank you!

  • This place is perfect spot for a night/long weekend/week away to get away from it all and explore Anglsey and North Wales! We were made to feel very welcome and then able to relax and enjoy! The hut is like a proper little home - it is stylish, clean, cosy and well equipped! There are amazing views, posh towels/bed linen and a nice hot powerful shower! We loved having the home made bread and eggs from the chickens for breakfast! I would definitely return for another getaway! Thank you!

  • Delightful light , airy cosy flat in a rural setting and very near beaches and the Wales Coast Walk. Bea is a great host and left tasty treats and wine for us.

    Vanessa2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful. Bea Is just absolutely lovely. Bea left little treats and gifts about the accommodation including fresh eggs from her farm and we got a little cuddle from Woody the dog and the pony. The outdoor hot tub is well worth the money and the views are magnificent. The accommodation is second to none and we will be back

    Michelle2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Bea was a very thoughtful host with leaving us some basics to help us get going with cooking and having the hot tub ready for us even though the wind was howling. Her property is a beautiful hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone looking for a restful weekend/week away. This property was nice and cosy in the horrible stormy weather but would also be amazing for a weekend away in the sun!

    Elizabeth2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bea’s Retreat was exactly what we needed! A beautiful getaway to recharge our batteries. Bea was very sweet to meet us when we arrived and showed us around the space. She even gifted us with fresh eggs, milk, wine, and chocolates! It’s in a great location in Anglesey! Very quick to drive to several places, but was always nice to have peace and quiet when we returned! And the hot tub was amazing! We had absolute clear skies the evening we stayed and were able to enjoy some star gazing while in the hot tub. Bea was even kind enough to warm up the hot tub for us for when we returned from dinner! How kind! We hope to come back and enjoy another stay at Bea’s Retreat! It’s a gem of an Airbnb! Highly recommend! Thanks, Bea!

    Amanda2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Bea welcomed us to her beautiful property, and left us some thoughtful treats like fresh milk and eggs, chocolates, a bottle of champagne, and flowers - which really added to our valentine’s day. We used the hot tub at night on our first day and the stars were beautiful, it was perfect. The home itself is so stylish and cosy, we loved the balcony and the bed was so comfy! Bea even picked us up some takeout on the second night whilst she was in town, she was so accommodating and lovely! Flamingo the horse was adorable and Woody the dog was the cutest. On our last day we took a short walk to one of the beaches, and despite storm dennis, the sights were beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for making mine and my boyfriends valentine’s weekend so special, we loved our stay and would recommend to all!

    Eliza2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

We are happy for our guests to enjoy the outdoor space and we even have a volleyball pitch for anyone feeling energetic. The coastal path is close by making it a great location for anyone wishing to explore Anglesey and the surrounding area. The magnificent Lligwy Beach is a very short drive away and Dulas Estuary is even closer. Benllech, Red Wharf Bay, Cemaes Bay, Parys Mountain, Moelfre and Amlwch Port are all in close proximity. Britannia Bridge and the ferry port of Holyhead are approximately 30 minutes drive. • A comfortable room in a nice house in the countryside, about 40 minutes' drive from Caernarfon or Holyhead - an ideal place for someone looking to get away from big cities and enjoy the beautiful nature of Anglesey, which also has quite a few historic attractions. The host is very friendly and always ready to help or give some advice about the area, overall, highly recommended for those who want an enjoyable stay away from the crowd. There a TV in the room, and Wi-Fi connection is good, so you can still be in touch with the world when you want it.

  • Nothing about this stay deserves anything less than 5*s. Gwenda was so accommodating in terms of communication and check-in times; and the studio is immaculately kept. The location, for me visiting the circuit, was absolutely perfect; and everything I needed with the microwave to cook some quick evening meals when back late and toast in the morning (the small loaf and milk to keep me going much appreciated). I hope to return next time I'm down to Anglesey.

There is space to store bikes, kayaks and beach/walking equipment in the large hall. Guests have a harbourside outdoor seating area from which many of the scenes from the BBC drama “Pitching In” were filmed in 2018. Actors including Larry Lamb and Hayley Mills used the flat as a base while filming.
Visitors come here to walk the Anglesey coastal path, enjoy the three beaches, eat and drink in the local pubs and restaurants and have a wonderful time in the place which the Dalai Lama called "the most peaceful place on earth" Cemaes is the most northerly village in Wales and was originally an ancient fishing village. The village includes a sheltered natural harbour that looks north to the Irish Sea and is a site of an ancient settlement that in more recent centuries has become a centre for maritime activities (as well as smuggling and piracy). The harbour is a integral part of the village. At the right times you can see fishermen return with their haul (Cemaes Bay lobster is shipped all over the world). You can go on fishing trips from the Harbour and boat trips to many of the surrounding areas of interest. In May and June the islands known as The Skerries are full of arctic terns and puffins and it is possible to go on a boat trip to view them Cemaes Bay has three sandy beaches – originally named ‘Traeth Mawr’ (Big Beach), Traeth Sincio (Sinking Beach – don’t panic – you only sink a few inches) and Traeth Bach (Little Beach) which are separated by a natural stone harbour that looks to the Irish Sea. At high tide you may hear the tidal bell chime as the waves roll to and from the beach. Around the village you will probably see lots of images of Cemaes in the old days. You may also encounter lots of flower displays. The local gardening group, Cemaes in Bloom, maintain the village’s floral displays, and in recent years the village has won prizes with both Wales- and Britain-in-Bloom competitions. The village provides a great base to explore all of Anglesey – especially the coastal path. Whether you go east or west from Cemaes you will find plenty of deserted beaches and desolate cliff tops to explore. If you enjoy photography, the area in and around the village provides some great sights and scenes for you to capture. The sunsets can be spectacular. Between the end of the 18th and beginning of the 20th century the village was noted for producing salted herring, building ships, and brick construction from a nearby works. The brickworks was served by a narrow gauge tramway down to the sea The Surrounding Area Anglesey is renowned for its miles of stunning and varied coastline offering wonderful walking and cycling, renowned birdwatching, excellent watersports, fishing and many quality golf courses. The well-known Sea Zoo, Pili Pali (Butterfly World) and a variety of National Trust properties and gardens are all within reach of Cemaes

  • This is the second time we have stayed as guests in Karen’s properties. A last minute change of plan meant that we swapped to a fabulous cottage on the headland above Rhydwyn. I can’t praise it highly enough. Karen is a fabulous host. Her cottages have everything in that you could possibly need plus plenty of extra special touches too. We will be booking again as soon as we can squeeze some more holidays in!

  • What an absolutely beautiful place to stay! Minutes away from the coastal path at Church Bay. Everything you’ll need has been provided here for you. Wonderfully warm and a fabulous view over to Ireland to watch the sunsets. Excellent value for money.

    Julie2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had originally booked the Chalet for our stay, but Karen very kindly upgraded us to the Farmhouse. This was a lovely stay. A bit big for just the two of us, but would be great for a group or family to stay. Loads of room and really well appointed with everything we needed. Location was just what we were looking for; a quiet spot and in easy walking reach of beaches and the coastal path. We didn’t try the pub up the road or the restaurant down the road, but definitely would do when we go back.

    Andy2019-11-25T00:00:00Z

If exploring the island you will never be more than 20 minutes from Bryan Farm so it is an ideal location. Nice rural setting with a mare and foal in the adjoining field to see plus the usual cows and sheep. Plenty of information available in the room regarding places to visit and eating establishments. Overall a very restful and relaxing break. We will return!

  • We stayed here on two dark nights in November, either side of a trip to Ireland. It would have been nice to have stayed longer and spent time on Holyhead mountain, but we just stayed here so we could get to the ferry early in the morning, and back late at night. It's not too far to walk from the port, but there are also taxis. The caravan is really comfy, with hot water bottles and heaters for a cold night.

  • Our stay with Gweeno (and especially her father Arun) was absolutely amazing. We are on a 2 month journey through Europe, and we are so grateful for having such a wonderful and gracious host! We usually walk from the train station to our accommodations, but Arun picked us up and dropped us off. Arun even gave us a tour of the county by car our first night of arrival. We definitely saw sights we would have missed if it wasn’t for Arun. We took the ferry to Dublin for the day, coming back after midnight. Arun was waiting for us as we arrived and drove us to his home so we would not have to walk. The room and bathroom were amazing. Best shower ever! The bed was VERY comfortable! The snacks were an unexpected surprise! We also had access to the elegant dining area and living room with a Piano. Bringing my music just in case was well worth the extra weight! The location was fantastic - close to the coastal walk, eating establishments and shops. Arun was so amazing that he even guided us where to go. Meeting Arun, and our end of the day conversations was definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Holyhead, and we give them our highest recommendation without hesitation. We will definitively be back and would not want to stay anywhere else. We not only had a great stay, we made a new friend...

  • Very comfortable caravan in a beautiful location on Anglesey. The caravan was spacious and very comfortable for us (family of 4), and had everything we needed. It’s in a very quiet location and close to beautiful beaches at church bay and Cemaes. Would definitely return!

  • The location is great for exploring Anglesey. It was a good place to feel connected to the landscape. Thank you.

  • Perfect location for exploring the Island & stunning coastal walks are pretty much on your doorstep. Isolated but not too isolated. Very private but amenities are within easy reach. Accommodation is adequately equipped & clean. Check in was a beeze.

  • This was our second trip and we are planning to head back as soon as we can , so easy to book and check in , gorgeous location , it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but the island and all its wonderful beaches are within easy reach

  • Had a lovely relaxing break with my dog. A remote and beautiful place.

    Jan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable static caravan. All amenities are here with a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with tv, shower room, bedrooms, etc. Hot water & central heating were very efficient. Even in blustery, cooler weather this was very cosy. The location is very remote. To us, this was part of the attraction but your own transport is a must. Popping out to the corner shop for a pint of milk takes a while!! The local scenery is amazing with wonderful dog walks down to secluded bays. We had a lovely Monday to Friday stay.

  • From before we arrived Sue was great at making our stay memorable. And it has been Sue Could not do Enough for Myself and Leigh plus our over excited Chihuahua. We Will DEFINITELY be returning for another Visit.

    Benet2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's place is great base for exploring north Anglesey. We took our dog Poppy with us, and Sue and Stuart had given as much consideration to her needs as our own (eg. secure garden, dog treats, towels etc), making this the perfect stay. The Stables is well equipped and perfect for two, having everything you could need. Sue's communication was excellent, and local tips and info were much appreciated. There's a nice pub (The Ring) a mile down the road which is dog friendly, and serves great food in generous portions. We'll be back! Guy, Sharon & Poppy

  • We had a wonderful weekend at The Stables. Sue and Steve were the perfect hosts - they couldn’t have done more for us. From offering local tips, to leaving delicious baking, even picking us up from the pub when a storm hit. There were lots of lovely extra touches and The Stables had everything you need. Would really recommend it!

    Craig2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very lovely people with a great place. Dogs are really friendly and was a great getaway. Thanks again

  • This is a lovely cottage, and Sue and Steve make you feel very welcome, great place to stay for exploring all the lovely places Angelsey has to offer.

    Louise2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sue offers a warm and relaxed welcome. The Stables is cosy for the wet days and perfectly located to visit Anglesey north, south, east and west. Dogs are made very welcome but the do need to be able to get along with others as Sue has 3 of her own and cats. I would defiantly recommend staying there.

    Jess2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Always nice when a place exceeds expectations and the stables certainly did. As others have said the little homely touches provided by sue and Steve make all the difference. They’re so friendly as are their dogs who we loved meeting! We also enjoyed feeding their hens! Great base for exploring Anglesey and we were really lucky with the weather! Hopefully we will return with our dog in the not too distant future. Thanks again sue and Steve we miss the stables already! Matt and shell

Private drive leading to the property with ample parking. Property consists of fully equipped kitchen diner, living room with access to patio area, great for alfresco dining. There is a small garden to the side of the property and a summer house with a full sized pool table and a large private decking area. Country walks nearby and plenty of information about things to do on Anglesey is provided. Ideal for couples and business travellers.
  • I can only describe Rachel & Martyn's place as an incredible experience. I fell in love with the place from the images but pictures don't do the property any justice. The property was immaculate with towels provided & plenty of information about things to do in the area. A folder is provided with instructions on pretty much everything in the property from connecting to the wifi to using the hot tub. The strip lighting utilised in the out house & the hot tub area was a nice touch. We never met the hosts. Simply entered the property after obtaing a code for the lockbox & then placed it back once finished. My friend is already talking about coming back with others to share the experience once things get back to normal. An amazing way to relax & enjoy my birthday whilst maintaining social distance.

    Courtney2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a lot bigger than we expected, myself and my partner brought our dog with us and they was plenty of room for us! We wanted some peaceful time away, and that is exactly what we got. The space is very modern with a warm homely touch. The area around is perfect for walks and to see the local wildlife, we took a walk to Porth Wen Brickworks which was around a 20 minute drive and a lovely walk for us and the dog. The out house with pool table and hot tub was a perfect addition which allowed us to relax even more.

    Lucy2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place, modern, clean with great amenities, especially the pool table is a great extra. Highly recommended.

    Gergely2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • It really did exceed my expectations, the pictures don't really do it justice the place is larger than anticipated and especially the kitchen , living space and main bedroom are finihsed to a really high standard. It's in a great location which is quiet and peaceful. Yet it is centrally (middle of the island) located to access anywhere on Anglesey within a decent time. It was spotless and had everything and more we needed. We were unlucky with the weather and it rained for 3 days straight but having such a great place to come back to it didn't dampen our trip (The heating system was amazing and the place warmed up so fast!) Couldn't recomend this place enough!

    Kara2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Rachel & Martyn's house because we wanted a weekend of complete relaxation and that's exactly what we had. The house was lovely, very clean and comfortable and the location was great for visiting our favourite places on the island. We would definitely book again.

    Steph2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fun, different experience. Jill is a great and helpful host (especially for those of us a bit incompetent with keeping fires going). Stove keeps the yurt really warm even in the worst storms. Homemade biscuits delicious too.

    Stefanie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Simply amazing. Great, quirky stay in the Yurt. The location is perfect. Jill is a fantastic host, super helpful and very kind. Already thinking about our next visit.

  • A brilliant host and a fantastic place to stay. Had everything we could possibly need

    Angharad2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • On the very night that storm Dennis ravaged the area Jills Mongolian yurt stood up to all he gave. And we inside were cozy, warm and loving the extra touches that come with the yurt. I am, a self proclaimed Airbnb snob. I find a place, google it, look at the reviews and then take a while to deliberate whether it’s worth a shot. I wasn’t sure about the yurt but the reviews were excellent and so thought we’d give it a punt. Jill was on point answering messages and was able to quell my fears that the yurt was going to be tested badly by Dennis. In fact when we arrived my hair was perpendicular to my head and everything we ran to the yurt with got a drenching. After settling we weren’t looking forward to the bog-run, however given it was all of 5 strides away and immaculately kept it wasn’t an issue at all. The yurt itself has an aroma that although not unpleasant, does take a second to acclimatise to but the amazing log burning stove puts play to it but filling the room with the heady sent of embers. We didn’t expect much sleep given the storm but a good 10 hours was got due to the comfy bed and linen. We woke to a fridge full of goodies and beverages galore. Don’t hesitate, book the yurt, expect a view to die for, an epic sleep and hospitality beyond.

    Katie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a amazing time me and my friend had in Jill’s yurt. We got a little lost getting to Jill , so she came out and got us. From the moment with arrived jill made us feel at home. The yurt is so lovely inside and out with everything you need. Because the weather was really bad the electricity sometimes went out but Jill made sure we had candles but to be honest we loved it and it made our stay more fun. We were able to cook a Thai curry with all the cooking equipment available and with all the little extras like the wine n chocolates n breakfast stuff that was already in the yurt that Jill had waiting for us , we had a more than what we needed . The log fire was amazing n kept us warm all the time we were there oh and the bed is amazingly comfortable I’m actually ordering the mattress off amazon. The storm was bad but being in the yurt you wouldn’t think there was one going on as the yurt is that sturdy but hearing it from inside was very soothing We both had the best time and can’t wait to come again Thanks Jill 😘

  • Cemaes Bay is a quiet place to get away from it all. Living in London, it’s just what we needed. The village is quiet, with a couple of pubs but you can drive out to places, which we did. Feels very safe and the locals are friendly enough. The cottage is cute and homely. Michael went out of his way to make us feel welcome and provided unexpected hospitality. Would recommend as a place to get away from noise and crowds for a few days. Thanks Michael.

    Darren2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay! The Studio is perfectly positioned in the village. Highly recommended.

    John2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage perfectly placed in Cemaes Bay, a few steps from the local grocery shop which is open 6 am - 10pm. Check in was very simple and Michael left us and our dog a lovely welcome pack. Parking in a nearby carpark is free but you can unload right outside the house. Cemaes Bay is very pretty and the locals were all really friendly. We did lots of walks and saw some wonderful wildlife on Anglesey. The sandy beaches and harbour are also really near the cottage. Michael was very quick to respond to my questions. He left lots of information about things to do in the area and how things worked like the recycling etc. We got takeaway woodfired pizza from the stand in the harbour -it was really good. The fish and chip shop was closed the week we came but I read that it is excellent. Anglesey is really dog friendly and Michael made our dog feel welcome too by leaving treats for her and a toy and blankets she could use. We had a wonderful week and I would happily go back.

    Sally2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio is perfectly placed in the centre of Cemaes and within 5 minutes you can walk along the coastal paths enjoying the views and wildlife. The beach is only 3 minutes away and perfect for children and dogs. Michael's house is gorgeous and well decorated. A beautiful welcome package was also there on our arrival. We would highly recommend the Studio to our friends and family. Pauline & Colin, Manchester.
