Vegetarian / Vegan Restaurant

“This sleek vegan restaurant (no meat, eggs, dairy, oyster sauce or fish sauce) has none of the hippie trappings of yore, with its light and airy space packed with hanging ferns and well-presented dishes. Try the broccoli quinoa charcoal burger, with mango and tomato salsa and moreish parsnip, potato and turnip fries, or the tofu satay skewers. They also serve delicious cold-pressed juices and a range of desserts by favorites like Veganerie and Theera.”

“Brew Beers and Ciders has the largest stock of beers, ciders and ales in Bangkok and is the place for anyone who tires of the predictable Chang, Singha and Tiger which make up Thailand’s usual selection. At Brew, there is an unbelievable range of draft and bottled beers from micro breweries around the world, and you are pretty much guaranteed to find even the most bespoke of tipples. Opening Hours: 16:00 - 02:00 daily Address: Seen Space Mall, Thong Lor Soi 13, Bangkok Tel: +66 (0)2 185 2366 ”

“An authentic Thai pork noodles restaurant. It only opens until 4:30pm and always a long line. You need to stand and wait (drooling is optional) for about 10 minutes. After you get a table, you need to wait (drooling is also optional) for another 10 minutes for your order.”

“Welcome to Bangkok brunch nirvana. When Roast first opened in 2011 at Seenspace, it kickstarted a lazy Sunday exodus from hotel buffets and into light-filled Thonglor cafes brimming with mid-century furnishings, dangling light bulbs and industrial coffee equipment. The food didn’t always get the same attention as the lattes, but it was always a nice place to waste an afternoon. Since Roast’s relocation to the top-floor of The Commons, the Finn Juhl knock-off furniture has been given the boot in favor of cool concrete monochromes, subway tiles and smoky orbs of incandescent light, while the menu has had an even more impressive makeover. ”

Bar

“At first glance the downstairs bar is reminiscent of a small local café in Europe. Behind the glass shop front there are half-a-dozen basic wooden tables, a wall in blood red and polished concrete floors. A personal selection of pictures and records are displayed around the room, and if you come back often enough and the owners will tell you the stories behind them. The bar also features printed coasters with a whole different bunch of meanings for ‘WTF’ (apart from the most obvious). On the two floors above lies gallery space hosting unusual art displays changing on a monthly basis.”
