Vacation Rentals in Lewes

Just booked in Lewes

A light and spacious room detached from the main house. It has its own entrance and is set in a beautiful, sub tropical garden with a hot tub that can be used by guests. 15 mins walk to Ovingdean beach and 10 mins drive to Brighton town centre.
Our garden room is detached from the main house and has its own private entrance. It has an extremely comfortable, double bed with the most luxurious duvet, oak floors and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower and beautiful stone tiles. We have recently installed a Smart TV with freeview and DVD player and there is a large selection of DVD's to choose from. The garden room was recently built and completed in 2012. As the room is detached from the main house, our guests can come and go as they please and are welcome to enjoy our stunning garden and exclusive use of the hot tub which is cleaned and maintained regularly for guests. Please let us know in advance if you might like to use it as it is not up to temperature all the time and cannot be guaranteed. Breakfast is included and there are also tea and coffee making facilities including a small fridge in the room. We have a little boy, Harrison, who is 8 and is very respectful of our guests but you may see him using the garden on sunny days. We are situated in Ovingdean, just outside the city of Brighton. It is a very old village with an 11th Century Church just a short walk from the house. We are very lucky to have the Sussex Downs on one side of us and the beach on the other, just a 15 minute walk away. Ovingdean beach is reached via a flight of steps and has a large stretch of sand when the tide is out and is great for rock pooling. There is also a little cafe, open on sunny days, that serves tea in proper mugs and homemade cakes & bacon sandwiches! There is a local shop just up the road which sells the essentials like bread and milk etc. We are about a 10 minute drive from Brighton city centre and there are buses that go from the seafront.
Ovingdean is a little bit of countryside by the sea. It is quiet and beautiful yet so close to Brighton we get the best of everything.
  • Virginia kept us updated on the location and how to get there (either a no' 27 bus from Brighton or a taxi will cost about £13ish. We arrived to a warm, clean and well stocked room with easy to read instructions on everything from Wi-fi to breakfast orders. My wife was under the weather and Virginia did everything possible to make her stay more comfortable....a tasty breakfast and a comfy bed goes a long way to help. And if you've been out walking on the coast or shopping down The Lanes, a lovely cup of coffee (filtered no less) and a bed to send you to dreamland is what you will get. Lovely garden, and a village that is suprisingly rich in architectural influences. Nice hosts, great room with fab ensuite, lush breakfast, no fuss, warmth = we are coming back!

  • We stayed here when attending a concert at the Amex Stadium. Virginia and Chris were extremely hospitable, guiding us to a good local pub for dinner and cooking a scrumptious cooked breakfast sitting in their garden the next morning. The accommodation was lovely and quiet, set overlooking their garden. We would recommend this accommodation and will definitely be returning some time in the future.

  • Fantastic room and host. Especially enjoyed the included continental breakfast hamper and hot tub. Would definitely recommend those wanting a romantic retreat.

  • Beautiful garden room, was larger than I expected. The room had lots of lovely little touches, fresh flowers, coffee machine, fresh fruit and bathroom essentials (if needed). Virginia made access easy at whatever time of day suited us. We felt very welcomed and comfortable. We used the hot tub after coming home from dinner which topped the evening off perfectly. The morning breakfast basket was also a lovely touch. A lot of thought goes into making this a really enjoyable stay. Will be recommending to all friends and family.

  • Private space, seperate from main house, with your own bathroom, over-looking beautiful garden and access to hot tub thats tucked away beside the garden room, and was a lovely treat. Relaxed and helpful hosts. Parking was free, across the road, but felt safe.

    Sue2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a true treasure of a stay. Virginia made our whole stay very welcoming. The room itself is a great size, decorated beautifully and the complementary bathroom products came in very handy with forgetting to pack deodorant for our stay. Virginia was very helpful with explaining how the hot tub worked and we felt very welcoming to use it. It is in a great location for exploring the local area. A short 15min walk to the beach gets you to a bus stop straight into Brighton center if you want to leave your car at the property. The delivered breakfast in the morning was also a treat. We will definitely keep in mind for future visits Thanks for having us :)

  • Perfect relaxing retreat! Can't really fault anything. We had enough privacy and were left to do our own thing but Virginia and her husband were always there/a text away whenever we needed anything. Amazing and thoughtful host, you have everything you need in the room. Great to have the ensuite bathroom with amazing shower by the way! Location is good for driving, parking round the corner of house. In a small cute village and very quiet area. However, able to catch bus from seafront (15 mins walk away) to next village for pubs etc/the marina/town. Good location away from the hustle and bustle of town. Great selection of breakfast in a hamper left outside room. We loved enjoying our breakfast outdoors in the seating area. Hot tub was great treat after a long day. Plastic cups provided as well as a stocked mini fridge with milk and beverages! Thanks so much for having us! We had the best time-must recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Brighton!

  • if you are looking for a romantic escape or just a break near to Brighton, Virginia's place is lovely. I cannot recommend her highly enough. The room is charming and equipped with everything you need for an overnight stay or possibly longer. It's situated in Ovingdean (just outside Brighton) or a taxi ride away. The room is separate from the house, situated in the garden, so its great for privacy, the décor is lovely and you have a nice big comfy bed with a lovely duvet and an ensuite bathroom. Virginia has put in extra little touches to make you feel welcome like emergency toiletries and milk ad tea and coffee. There are drinks available, there is an honesty bar arrangement, you pay for what you take. We brought our own bottle but could have happily used the little bottles of wine supplied if we'd needed to. There is a hot tub next to the room in the corner of the garden, which we used and it was bliss! She has thought of everything that makes your trip that little bit nicer, like dropping off a breakfast basket the next morning with cereals and pastries. She is very friendly too and will pop up to meet you on your arrival. It was a great stay and we will definitely go back.

    The Garden Room (detached)
    198 reviews
The Cabin is a self-contained wooden chalet located in a large garden on the edge of the South Downs National Park. It is quiet, very private and cosy, with views on to the garden. You can walk out of the garden gate straight on to the Downs.
The Cabin is entirely built of wood and therefore has a very special atmosphere. It is completely self-contained and private. I provide a flat screen television with Freeview, free fast wi fi, Egyptian cotton or linen bedlinen and a down duvet. The bed is a small double. The kitchen is well-equipped and includes a Nespresso coffee machine, two hot plates and a toaster-oven. I will supply coffee, teas and continental breakfast ingredients. You have access to the garden, a sunny private lawn of your own and a swing seat on the deck.
County town Lewes is a historic medieval town, known for its spirit of independence, Lewes Castle, the Priory Ruins, Bull House (home of Thomas Paine) and Anne of Cleves House (built for her by Henry VIII). It is situated on the Greenwich Meridian beside the river Ouse and is now part of the South Downs National Park. It is home to Harvey's brewery, celebrated as one of the finest ale producers in England, and there are many great pubs providing real ale, good food and live music. People visit from far afield to browse the vintage/antique shops, independent shops and art galleries. Lewes is also home to Heart of Reeds, a permanent land sculpture designed by internationally famous local land artist Chris Drury. Other visitors come for opera at Glyndebourne; to visit Charleston and Monks House - homes of the Bloomsbury Group; and walkers to hike the South Downs Way. There are race days held at nearby Plumpton Race Course. Annual festivals include Lewes Live music festival, Love Supreme jazz festival (held at nearby Glynde Place), Artwave visual arts festival, Lewes Live Literature and the famous Lewes Bonfire celebration on 5 November.
  • This cabin was a lovely refuge at the edge of Lewes. It was a cosy place to come home to after a day of touring. I'd live here if I could.

    Martha2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, clean, little cabin with everything one needs as a home base in a beautiful garden in a quiet part of Lewes, accessible into Brighton as well as the South Downs. Convenient breakfast hamper with essentials like bread, butter, coffee, tea, milk & jam. Patricia is fast at replying and transparant about what she is offering. Just one remark: the bed is on the small side and matrass on the soft side, especially in the middle, which made my husband decide to sleep on the couch the 2nd night.

    José2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great quaint little summer house. It's hidden away from the main house along a path in a very well kept / landscaped garden. I arrived after 10pm - a torch is a must! Best bit is there's a gate in the surrounding hedge which takes you straight out on to the South Downs. Had a great walk looping around Lewes that I found on (URL HIDDEN)

    Stephen2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cabin with two rooms at the bottom of a garden in a suburban area, so quiet and secluded that you felt you were deep in the countryside. Everything worked fine, and the host was friendly and helpful.

    Pal Christian2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia was very accommodating and let us stay at very short notice! The cabin is as cute as it looks, perfect for a weekend escape and near some lovely pubs and walking routes!

    Hannah2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely, lovely cabin! Patricia was wonderful and very accommodating; it really felt like our own little corner of the downs. Highly recommend.

    Michael2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic. Booked a weekend away for our anniversary and loves this private little hideaway. There were croissants and jam left for breakfast which was a lovely touch. The host was responsive, helpful and very welcoming. Comfy bed and couch and great little coffee machine. Would definitely stay again and can highly recommend!

    Amy2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend staying in the cabin! It was bigger than in the photos and decorated in a cute and kitsch style, plus only a 15 minute walk to Lewes itself. Patricia was very welcoming, leaving us croissants and jam for breakfast, and being so kind to offer a rain jacket (it was an unusually wet August weekend!). Would definitely recommend!

    The Cabin on the Downs
    66 reviews
Bright loft room in a quiet terrace between Grange Gardens and the high street, King size bed, walk in shower, wc,basin, open plan! privacy screen only, no door! French doors with amazing views over lewes roof tops towards the South Downs. All mod cons. Complimentary in room breakfast!
In the summer I would prefer 2 nights to be booked at the week end, mid week is fine for single nights but pls feel free to check with me
My house is very central yet on a dead end street so very quiet and peaceful. The high street is at the top of my road, with lots of pubs, cafes, restaurants, antique shops, bazaars and interesting independent shops, there's easy access to country walks, and cycle trails over the South Downs!
  • Fiona was very welcoming, helpful and informative. Our room was delightful and just as described in the listing. Although right in the centre of Lewes we were able to park virtually outside the property for free!!! Lewes itself is a delightful town with plenty of restaurants, pubs etc. within a very short walk of the property. It is also of great historical interest. The outlook from our room was over gardens, some very interesting houses and historic buildings. Very green and peaceful. We would have hesitation in recommending it.

    A Roger2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona made us feel very welcome and room was very stylish with great views. I would have given this 5 stars however there is no seperation between shower/loo area and kitchen/bedroom. If as a couple you are happy using the loo in front of each other and mixing aromas of bedroom, kitchen and bathroom...fine - but it would be nice to have a choice especially when paying £80 per night...

    Matthew2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice room, very quiet, comfy bed. We had a good nights sleep and would definitely stay again. Good location, very close to station. The tea, coffee and breakfast bits are all really nice and thoughtfully done. Thanks Fiona!

    Rachel2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying atht this place in Lewes. It has an incredible view over the South Downs and it feels very private being on the top floor. Fiona has thought of everything - tea/coffee/fresh fruit are on offer as well as a gin & tonic and a bottle of water by the bed! The bed was comfy and cosy, the room ultra stylish and communication was top notch. Highly recommend staying here!

    Linda2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is a light space with great views and has a great location close to the train station and a short walk from upper and lower town... all very easy and a great stay!

    conor2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona was working away but allowed me to let myself in and find a fridge full of goodies, a sparklingly clean room - and glorious sunshine to match the fabulous views. The little Juliet balcony is just wonderful and I enjoyed a g&t (thank you Fiona!) and the views as the sun set. The 'en suite' bathroom that is screened off might not suit everyone, even couples, but it was fine for a solo traveller and everywhere was stylishly arranged and overall it was terrific.

    Geraldine2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate and the area that the house was in, was very nice and quiet. Fiona's house was in a quiet road but was extremely central and only 2 minutes walk to the high street, which was great. The views from the bedroom were fantastic and the bedroom itself was very well furnished and fitted out. There were plenty of good quality toiletries and Fiona had put in quite a few personal touches including a new toothbrush and tooth paste, magazines and books to read, and a lovely bowl of fruit. Fiona was friendly and helpful but also just left me to my own devices which was exactly what i wanted. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fiona's room. There was also an excellent wifi connection which i found useful.

    Jane2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona’s attic bedroom is perfect. We had a really nice stay at hers. She was very helpful and accommodating and laid back. The bedroom is really nice and it has an amazing view over Lewes. Everything is very well organized in the room and thought of to the tiniest detail. A real treat. Bathroom open to the rest of the room is very nice but can also be a bit challenging when it comes to keep some intimacy. Just make sure you share the bedroom with someone you know really really well! :-) Other than this, the place is super well located and really close to the station. Highly recommendable

133 High Street is a bright, spacious and stylish grade II listed house. I'm a prop buyer so the house is full of interesting things I've found out & about on my travels. It has a lovely open plan kitchen and small court yard garden.
The house is spacious but has a homely feel and is full of interesting things we've found exploring the antique shops in Lewes and the local seasides towns. The living room is bright and colourful with very high ceilings! the ideal room for relaxing, reading the sunday papers or having a sneaky afternoon nap. The open plan kitchen and diner is ideal for entertaining & socialising. It also means who ever is doing the cooking can be involved in the conversation! It has a nice long table (seats 8) for big family games, some of which are supplied but we're working on getting loads more over time. The kitchen also has an ipod dock (aux cable supplied). French doors lead out to a small courtyard garden. Basement, utility room, football table. There is a ground floor wet room shower and toilet and upstairs there is a large bathroom with bath, shower and toilet.
We love Lewes and we are fairly certain you will too. You will find an up to date selection of relevant leaflets at the house, telling you about whats on and where. The town centre and tourist info are a ten minute walk down the road.
  • Lovely house, lovely host. Charming house inside very nice. I recommend it. The only downsides are parking is a few streets away and it gets noisy on a Saturday night being on the high street with passers by and cars.

    Tim2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • A delight to step through the unassuming front door into a warm, welcoming home to make your own for a few days. We didn't want to leave.

  • George and Simon's house in Lewes is just gorgeous! And what lovely hosts! George was swift and helpful when replying to emails while Simon met us at the house and gave us a very friendly and informative welcome. The house looks just as it does in the photographs and is spacious and comfortable. The large soft towels and comfy beds get a special mention! Simon left us bread, jam, eggs and milk which was a welcome touch. We had a great stay and really cannot rate the house enough. We will book again if we are ever in Lewes in the future. Thanks again, Natasha

  • A fantastic place to stay. We appreciated the comfortable beds, the large bathroom, the thick towels - the way everything was beautifully presented and looked after. Ang was on hand too to answer any queries about how things worked. The house itself is interesting - full of characterful things and its position on the High Street means you can walk to everywhere in town including the train station.

  • A pretty house very well situated in the centre of Lewes. Bright and cheerful with a well equipped kitchen.

  • This was my first time using AirBNB and it couldn't have gone any better. George was easy to get in touch with and answered all y questions quickly and accurately. My mother and father-in-law arrived before me and after ringing the number we were given they were met by a lady who was helpful and informative. The house is beautiful and was very clean. It has everything you need for your stay and meant we had a comfortable and peaceful two days. Parking in the area was a little difficult but mainly as the local public car park was being remarked. Everything else was perfect and I cannot recommend the experience highly enough.

    Kevin2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful 3 nights. Nothing was too much trouble. George has furnished the house beautifully, it felt personal with lovely touches such as a small spray of flowers on the kitchen table together with bread and wine on our arrival. Extremely comfortable beds ensured at deep sleep after long days exploring the area. Being in the centre of town, it's a great basecamp if you want to explore N,S,E or west from Lewes. We cannot wait to return.

    mark2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend this listing enough. The house is just lovely. Clean, wonderfully decorated but still very homely, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The location is great, ought in town with a short walk to the station and a lovely pub a few doors away. George is very helpful and easy to communicate with. We will definitely lol to book this home again if we are back in town.

We are a few minute's walk from the railway station and heart of Lewes. We offer a peaceful double room, and single room, with use of an adjoining compact private shower room. From May to September the double room is let for one or two guests at the double rate (£65) on Friday and Saturday nights , please book for one guest only on those nights. The single bedroom is only available for a third guest if they are travelling in the same group.
We hope the photo does it justice - the double is a lovely light room, with views over the old churchyard to the trees beyond. The rooms are on the top floor, with your own shower room on the same floor. The kitchen and garden are on the ground floor below street level . Please note that the shower room has been described by one guest as being challenging for those of a portly disposition! The single room is at the rear and is south facing.
The house is within walking distance of all the interesting parts of Lewes.
  • Alison and Martin have been very welcoming and supporting. The house is located literally around the corner from Lewes station, so it was perfect for my itinerary. Also, it is two minutes from the main street where you can find gourmet restaurants, bars, and shops. The room is very homy and comfortable, and you have your own toilet and shower.

  • Even though we only stayed for one night, we had a very warm welcome and comfortable stay. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and lovely, the bed very comfortable and the area ideal (2 minutes from Lewes station). Breakfast was delicious as we were able to pick what we wanted from a wide variety of foods. Alison and Martin were attentive and wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.

  • This is the second time I've stayed with Alison and Martin, who are great hosts and offer a warm welcome in very comfortable and friendly surroundings. The bedroom is at the top of the house with exclusive use of the shower room immediately next to it. Everything was clean and tidy and, as always, a wonderful breakfast was provided along with interesting conversation. You feel very much like a friend of the family when staying. Thank you Alison and Martin.

  • Waking up to THAT view just made us tingle. Not only the beautiful hill and fields in the distance, but also the horse wandering its field through the side window of the hut. We were made to feel so welcome in this space. From a jar of home made cake on arrival, to a wonderful tour of our space and facilities, to suggestions of where to eat and what to do and an invitation to pick from the berry and herb bushes as much as we liked. We loved every minute and couldn't believe we hadn't booked more time here. The sauna was such a pleasant part of our experience. We desperately want one of our own now. We loved the added bonus of having breakfast supplied. We picked berries and herbs from the garden and had a feast before we set off on our next adventure. A highly recommended experience in a delightful nature space.

  • A charming place to stay and great place to get away from it all. All the little touches really made the stay for us such as the homemade apple cake. We love Wookie the dog and would happily take her home! An ideal escape for nature lovers with all the home comforts!

  • We loved our stay in the shepherds hut, it was so comfy, cosy and warm. The location was absolutely amazing and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. Really handy to walk to Lewes from. We enjoyed everything about our stay here and our hosts were so lovely, friendly & helpful. The breakfast was great with lots of choice and the hut had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely visit again and recommend this lovely hut for a peaceful getaway to friends and family! Ps sorry that Buster kept trying to steal Wookie's food!

The scenery around the hut is breath taking and can be enjoyed at night roasting marshmellows on the fire! The breakfast is extremely accommodating (I'm veggie) and is a lovely touch to wake up to! I can't rave about this place enough and have reccommened it to everyone I know! Thank you so so much! (The house dog made our trip haha) Katie and steve xx

  • We stayed a couple of nights ago on a cold November evening and it was the perfect stay! Joe is an absolutely wonderful host - his replies are quick and prompt, he gave us directions to the place and even offered to give us a lift! On arrival, he showed us all the different bits and even gave us some homemade apple cake. The room itself is just as pictured. The amount of detail Joe put in is worth every penny! The bed is comfortable and there are plenty of blankets if you're looking to stay during the winter months. It was so warm and cosy inside. The breakfast included was very nice, and Joe even went out of his way to accommodate a vegetarian option! The toilet took a lot of getting used to (no flush) but it did its job. His son even gave us some marshmallows for our fire! I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who craves a little break to the countryside.

  • Just returned from a fabulous weekend staying here and my boyfriend and I both feel very relaxed now! The check in was so smooth and the hosts were a lovely family (including their wonderful dog Wookie), very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. The hut was as described and it was spotlessly clean with the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing, the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need including the homemade jams which were divine (the plum and ginger was our favourite). It was amazing waking up to the view of the downs each morning and feeling very cosy when it was rather blustery outside. The sauna was a great addition especially after a long day of hiking in the downs. It's a shame we couldn't have stayed longer as we didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back again. Thanks again to Joe and Sian, this place is a must stay!

    Leanne2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • The hut was spotlessly clean, toasty warm (even for a snowy February night!) and had everything we needed for a lovely and relaxing stay- including some great cake and a plentiful breakfast. Joe and sian were super accommodating and showed us round when we arrived, we didn't do any walking but it's definitely a fantastic location for it. Really close to lewes it's perfect for a getaway but not so remote that you can't go out for a nice meal! The sauna is an absolute winner and makes the stay feel like a mini spa- plus wookie the dog was a gorgeous additional host! Five star stay and would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Sussex.

  • Great place to stay! Irene and Sam were great host and also very entertaining to have a chat by night with good wine :) pets were also great. It is a great place to stay if you like nature and getting a touch of some locals ;) enjoy!

    Alejandro2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Irene and Sam are wonderful hosts. They are interesting and caring people, and our breakfasts with Irene were a great way to start the day. Iford may seem a little remote for people who don't have a car or who don't like walking, but it is perfect for those who value quiet or who want a taste of village life and the real England. There are two good pubs within half an hour's walking, one in Kingston and the other in Rodmell, and the footpaths through the farm yards and over the fields are a great part of the pleasure in going there. Also, if you need a trip to or from Lewes, Irene and Lewes are very willing to give you a lift if needed. We didn't take advantage of their kind offer to pick us up at the station, but they did drive us there when we left.

    Andre2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Irene was a charming host offering tea in her garden when we arrived. We we given a lots of useful local information, the room was comfortable and we felt totally at home.

  • Homely and welcoming. Irene made every effort to ensure my stay with her was as easy and comfortable as possible.

  • This was my first airbnb booking and if there were 10*'s in their rating system, I wouldn't hesitate to give all of them to Irene, her home and her hospitality. I was there taking a course in the village hall and the quiet beauty of the place, so near Lewes and yet a world away, was perfect. Highly recommended.

    Jude2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • A very pleasant location with an accommodating host. Excellent access to Brighton without the noise and silly prices associated with city centre hotels. Irene made me feel very welcome and I had a great nights sleep.

    chris2016-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great to meet Irene, delightful village and easy access to Lewes. A lovely part of the world to visit and Irene made us very welcome. A nourishing breakfast to start the day really got us on our way. Plenty of off street parking and we recommend the Abergavenny pub up the road for friendly service and a good meal.

    steve2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We ended up having to cancel our stay at Irene's lovely house last minute, but she was super helpful and we would definitely love to meet her and stay there one day in the future!

Park View is in a great location and is within walking distance of the centre of the historic town of Lewes with its quirky shops, great pubs, cafes, restaurants, Lewes Castle and Harveys Brewery. It's also just a stroll to Pells Outdoor Lido Pool which is a great day out when the sun shines. If you want to venture a bit further afield, the station with trains to Brighton and London is a short walk away. You'll love all the history and quirkiness that surrounds you in this unique town!
  • Brenda has a very nice flat. Very well located. Perfect for a weekend. She was very kind with us. Made everythng easy. Many Thanks.

    Gonzalo2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 2 nights on separate bookings. See other review for details. Brenda is a very helpful host and we really enjoyed our stay in her place.

    Louise2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great central location, the place is comfortable and the outside space was really nice. Brenda was extremley helpful and agile to our timings.

    Carlos2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This little flat is in a prime location in central Lewes and good value for the amount of space you get. Brenda was extremely helpful and the flat was easy to find and within spitting distance of Lewes town centre. All the necessary amenities were there including coffee, tea and food for breakfast and the living area is spacious and comfy. I stayed on a Thursday night and the neighbours were having a noisy party/gathering that night which kept me up...not sure if this is a regular occurrence or I was just unlucky! The bedroom is on small side but has everything you need. The flat is clean and tidy and although a little bit tired looking, it is still good value for a central location and for the space and amenities provided.

    Christina2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great centrally located little flat.

    Becky2017-06-11T00:00:00Z

    Neil2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay in between Christmas & New Year. Brenda was gracious to host us last minute! We have a 2 year old & a 4 year old who are great travelers & they loved the place too. Because the extra bed is in the living/kitchen area, my husband slept in the bedroom with our kids (the 4 year old in the bed & the 2 year old in a travel cot) so we didn't have to sneak around in the kitchen before they woke up. I slept alone on the pull out bed since it is quite too small for 2 adults. The flat is really close to shops & restaurants in Lewes, which is really nice. And we had no problems parking our car. There were plenty of towels in the flat which can be hard to come by on Airbnb rentals. And Brenda had fresh milk, instant coffee, tea, bread, cereal, butter & jam ready for a quick breakfast. A lovely stay, although we weren't in the flat much. A bit small to keep 2 rowdy boys inside for very long :)

  • Great little place - clean, neat and fairly easy to find (read the directions however). We had a great time in Lewes, which is a gem. Who knew. Thanks Brenda.

Perfectly located, central, split level, 2nd floor apartment on pedestrianised Cliffe High Street. Large bedroom with superking sized bed and TV in room. Luxurious bathroom as well as separate downstairs toilet room.
  • Although I have been signed up to Air BnB for many years, I had never actually used the service. I could not have hoped for a better first stay than we had with Ellie. Communication ahead of the stay was excellent, with Ellie providing lots of helpful tips for local walks and pubs. When we arrived, the flat was perfectly located in the centre of Lewes, the flat was immaculate, and the room spacious and very comfortable. Ellie made us feel very much at home. All in all, a great experience. Thank you again Ellie!

    Christopher2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay, right in the centre of town, but very quiet. It is in the charming pedestrianised part of town so you cannot park outside but it's only a few steps across the road to the public car park (maximum 2 hour stay during the day, but free between 5 pm and 8 am). Ellie is the perfect host and the room is lovely and comfortable. There are, however, several flights of stairs up to the apartment to keep you fit.

    Anna2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely centrally located, views to all directions in Lewes. A large, warm bedroom with a big comfy bed made me fall asleep in an instant. Ellie's home would make anyone envious! Stylish and very clean too with all essentials you could need. Ellie took a really good care of us before and during our stay, informing us about traffic schedule, offering to purchase Bonfire night tickets in advance etc. We felt warmly welcome before we had even entered to the UK. From start to finish, Ellie was there for us for whatever possible questions we might have had. Highly recommend for anyone who is coming to Lewes area!

My comfortable lived in home ( not a hotel!) is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac off the vibrant Cliffe High St and one minutes walk from the beautiful South Downs. Continental breakfast provided and free parking available.
The small double room includes a very comfortable double bed, desk, chest of drawers and hanging space. It overlooks some beautiful ,scented, pink roses. There is another larger double available, "Sunny Room with Cliffe View", see other listing. During the Summer months there is a two night minimum stay at weekends.
Lewes is a beautiful historic town with lots of character. I love the fact that it is small enough to walk around and from every corner you have amazing views of the south downs, the castle and the river and access to a huge variety of walks -hilly or flat.I have the advantage of living in a quiet street while at the same time being one minutes walk from a variety of friendly traditional pubs, restaurants, independent shops and cafes including the best place for lunch -the Buttercup Cafe- and the original Bills Harvey,s brewery is also in the next street and you can walk across the downs to Glyndebourne Opera house..On a hot day you can nip down to Seaford for a swim in the sea or have one in Lewes,s own outdoor pool, the oldest outdoor freshwater swimming pool in England. There are two cinema clubs in Lewes and there is a large musical and artistic scene.
  • Very comfortable room in a quiet part of the centre of town - ideal location. Very nice breakfast too, and Jane was very kind enough to pick me up from the station, even though it wasn't far away. I'm only sorry I couldn't stay longer!

  • We had a lovely time at Jane's home and enjoyed our stay very much. The room was charming and bright, the bed comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and the freshly cut fruits of the season every morning, were a delight! We really felt welcomed. A house with a soul and a host with a big heart! We definitely want to come back.

  • Jane is an excellent host. She met me to present me with a key, made me feel very at ease in her home. the room was comfortable and I slept very well.

  • What a lovely soul my new friend Jane is! Creative, compassionate, genuine and kind hearted, it was a blessing getting to meet her and stay with her, Freddy and Freya. Jane had the patience to help us find routes and recommend the best walking paths while supplying reading material on local history, while being big hearted and open for wonderful chats about life, all over a friendly and delicious breakfast spread. Jane lives the life of a true Bohemian and artist, growing enviable roses in her garden, being warm and open to those around her, living a healthy creative lifestyle, and singing beautiful opera from the bathtub (what a joy to overhear!)

Just a few minutes walk downhill from the South Downs Way ‘The Loft’ is the perfect place to retreat after a long day’s hike or cycle. With our local pub 300 meters up the road a pint and a hearty pub meal await. ‘The Loft’ is situated in a quintessentially English village where a 16th century thatched cottage can be seen across the garden and Virginia Woolf’s ‘Monks House’ is just down the road. You can't help but relax and unwind when you visit The Loft. It's the perfect get away.
The Loft is a light, modern first floor apartment with its own private entrance and parking space. The kitchen is well equipped with all you will need and tea and coffee making facilities will be waiting for you when you arrive. We also offer an optional 'breakfast basket' and fresh eggs from our own chickens that you'll see when you visit. Please enquire about prices and products when booking.
Rodmell is a lovely quiet village. Whilst there are no streetlights or shops we do have a variety of interesting buildings and history abounds, from thatched cottages and the 12th century St Peters Church to The Monks House (former home of Virginia Woolf and now owned by the National Trust) and our local pub The Abergavenny Arms.
  • We had a great time at the loft. It is a fantastic flat, recently decorated and extremely clean and comfortable. Jan and her sister were very welcoming and we appreciated the delicious homemade apple cake. The Loft overlooks a beautiful garden with panoramic views of The Downs. The village itself was lovely and characterful, with a pub a short walk away serving great food. Monk's House is also very close by and worth a visit From there we drove to Lewes and Charlston, which are both a short drive away. If you are planning a trip to this part of the country I can definitely recommend The Loft.

This apartment is newly furnished it can sleep 1-4 people with a good size bedroom and a sofa bed. It has a fully fitted kitchen, very spacious bathroom, washing machine, dishwasher, freeview TV and a patio area.
The county town of Lewes is under a mile away with a good selection of pubs, restaurants and shopping. The local pub is 5 minutes walk across the field with child friendly beer garden.
  • We had a fantastic Easter weekend at the Dairy. The accommodation is excellent. Extremely spacious and well done presented. It felt quite luxurious! The welcoming touches of flowers and a lemon cake really were lovely. The house is well resourced which was perfect for us as our son needed to go to sleep early leaving us time to cook a nice dinner together! Spring Barn Farm next door was ideal for a few groceries and our little boy had a blast playing there one afternoon. Mandy was very helpful and kept in great contact with us before and during the stay. I can imagine that we will be back!

  • Great spot on the South Downs This house located a short walk from scenic Lewes and set in the beautiful Downs was perfect for our weekend stay. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. Mandy ensured that we had a great stay.

  • Mandy's place was great. I stayed there so I could visit Charleston and Monk's House and getting out and about from there was perfect. As a solo traveller I felt safe as there were a few other properties nearby including Mandy's own home. Mandy's cousin checked in on me to make sure everything was OK and I was glad I didn't have to travel to a supermarket, I used the on site farm shop during my stay. I also enjoyed sitting outside on the small patio which was bathed in sunshine for most of the afternoon and it has been prettily surrounded with trellis and shrubs. I wouldn't hesitate to use this place again.

    Wendy2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent stay at Spring Barn Farm with three friends. Mandy, kids and animals were all very welcoming. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and Mandy had left tea, coffee, milk etc which made the place feel homely. We had a great evening in a nearby pub and a lovely couple of days exploring the area around Lewes. Thank you very much!

  • We chose to stay at The Dairy because, from the photographs, it looked the ideal place to stay to explore Lewes and nearby beach areas, which are only 15 minutes drive away. We are glad we did, because it certainly lived up to expectation - immaculately presented accommodation that had everything that we needed for a wonderful stay. The Dairy is a beautiful old stone building that is very modern inside with loads of room. We enjoyed the freshly baked cake that Mandy left for us, and loved the visits from the two farm dogs that came for a pat whenever we were home. This is a beaut place to stay.

    Ken2015-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place - clean, spacious, quiet and well equipped. Mandy's a very helpful and responsive host. An unexpected bonus was the farm shop and cafe on site.

The Garden Studio is an amazing space embedded right in the South Downs National Park. Light airy and surrounded by a beautiful garden with lots of outdoor seating and dining space. A real treat awaits, secret and quiet, serene and spacious.
We built this space 25 years ago, an amazing space. We excavated right into the chalk downland to provide us with terracing and a swimming pool! We planned to convert the pool later into accommodation and we have now, stylishly, done this! We have run it as accommodation for six years now, guests love it!
We are imbedded within the South Downs Nationals Park, actually the studios are built into the chalk downland where our house is situated, as is the house. We are elevated with stunning views. Lewes is a very attractive medieval/Georgian town, the County Town of East Sussex and the largest town within the National Park

Come and share our comfortable family home. We live in a small Edwardian terrace house in the heart of Southover, one of the most historic and picturesque parts of Lewes. It's 10 minutes from the mainline railway station and an ideal base for Glyndebourne opera or for exploring the Downs.
We are offering a small, clean, homely upstairs study/bedroom that accommodates one guest. You will sleep on a top-of- the-range single sofa bed, which is custom made to a German design. There is a table, chair and hangers for clothes. There is a small upstairs bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet which you will share with our family.
Our house is situated on a neighbourly street with residential parking and a local shop opposite. It's a short 10 minute walk to Lewes railway station. It's in the heart of some of Lewes's most famous historic tourist attractions. Around the corner is the famous Anne of Cleves Museum, a 15th century Tudor timber framed house that was part of King Henry VIII divorce settlement to his fourth wife. Opposite the museum is the Lewes Priory, a ruined medieval priory, which had one of the largest monastic churches in England before it was destroyed by Henry VIII. Many of the houses nearby are picturesque and historic, and feature the traditional flint walls of the region, including our own.
  • Wasn't there long but great place for a night-stop; clean, comfortable, quiet and welcoming hosts.

  • Robin and her husband's home was easy to find, and matches the beautiful photographs perfectly. Their dog, (Spike, if I remember right...?) was very friendly and calm, happy to say hello, but equally happy to keep a distance. Bed was lovely and comfortable, a small and private room. Shower facilities across the corridor and a nice luxury shower, and yes, that stained glass window is as stunning in real life as it is in the photograph! Robin and her husband were charming hosts, genuinely interested and interesting, but much like Spike, more than happy to give you some space should you require it. A lovely stay, would come again!

Charming 3 story, 3-bed family home. Lovely open-plan downstairs living area opening out on to front & rear gardens. Off-street parking. Ideally located on a quiet residential road a few minutes from Lewes train station & high street.
Spread over 3 stories, with a double, en-suite bedroom on the top floor, double bedroom, single (children's) bedroom and family bathroom on 1st floor and lovely open plan kitchen/dining area/living room downstairs. 2 TV's, wifi throughout the house, washing machine, dishwasher etc.
Lewes is a beautiful historic town, surrounded by the South Downs National Park, with a wide array of National Trust houses (including a castle) and plenty of shops and bars etc. Brighton is only a 20 minute drive or train ride away and trains to/from London take just over an hour.
  • Really excellent place to stay - house was well equipped, clean and tidy. Location is great so you can walk everywhere and very quiet. Good proximity to railway station as well which suited us as a couple of our group arrived by train from London. Thank you

  • We had a really lovely stay at Tarquin's house. It has great views of the downs, and two gardens to choose from. Tarquin's PA was very helpful and the house was clean and sunny and quiet.

  • Lovely little house, close to all amenities. Tarquin was most helpful throughout the process, from booking to departure. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

  • This is a beautiful, spacious house with lovely gardens. It has a much prized parking space in Lewes and is a very short walk from the train station (and Glyndebourne shuttle bus!) It has everything you could possibly need and Tarquin has consistently been great in keeping in touch. I would strongly recommend it.

  • Our stay at Tarquin place was wonderful. He is a great host and everything was ready at the moment of our arrival. The house is very close to the castle, train station and high street. Have a wonderful garden, spacious and bright rooms. We are really looking forward to come back.

  • A lovely house in the beautiful town of Lewes. It had everything we needed for our stay, was comfortable and clean and Tarquin provided all the information we needed in advance of and during our stay. We were only there for a night so didn't get much chance to explore Lewes but it was the perfect base for visiting Brighton as well, which was the intention of our visit. Thanks Tarquin for making your lovely house available to us, it was a pleasure to stay there.

Funky, arty, cosy flat in the heart of historic and picturesque town of Lewes. A great base for easy access to nearby Brighton and country walks. Not much of a view due to being a basement flat but unique experience of staying in an artists flat. Small kitchenette you can use.Really quiet, right on the high street metres away from Lewes Castle shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Friendly accommodating host. *I request that guest's send me an enquiry note before they make a booking, many thanks.
My flat is a basement flat right on the High street, one of the really old houses and in amongst some really beautiful old buildings. Unique space, the flat has my paintings and drawings around as I am an artist. The flat is actually really peaceful even though right on the High street. A chilled arty space.
Right in the centre of Lewes at the top of the hill, really old interesting buildings and architecture, safe and friendly. The flat is at the top of a hill, up some steep hills.
  • Laura was a great host, she kept in regular contact and had some really good ideas for places to eat, drink and look around not just Lewes but beyond! Her flat is lovely, with lovely personal touches that seemed to really reflect her art, I loved that! The location of the flat is perfect, close to so many pubs and eateries, especially the Rights of Man pub with its terrace, incredibly welcoming staff and great food! Would stay here again, in a heartbeat!

    Lucy2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A very special flat in a very special location, nestled under one of the High Street shops. Charming accommodation with a lovely atmosphere to it: I felt privileged to have the use of Laura's home for the weekend.

    Amanda2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific place, right in the middle of town. Highly recommend! Everything you need, and great place to discover the lovely town of Lewes.

    Zhi2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, homely little flat to explore Lewes from. A lovely selection of Laura's art and possessions make it a very individual, colourful place. It IS small and some of the spaces are quite tight - the bathroom particularly - but Laura has used every inch creatively. Towels and bedding were clean but well-used; fresh milk and real coffee were in the fridge, a bowl of fruit on the table. Communication with Laura was easy and she was a friendly and generous host.

    Lynda2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Stay at Laura's flat was very good. The flat is conveniently located in the heart of Lewes, literally round the corner from the castle. The flat is lively and cosy, arty, bright in the morning, and provided with all the comforts.

    Maddalena2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely relaxing, cosy, clean and creative space. Lewes is a lovely town and Laura's flat is right off High Street (but quiet) and near to station and shops. Would definitely hope to stay again when back in this part of the country.

    Rebecca2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay in Lewes. The flat was really cute and cozy, exactly what we were looking for. We were happy to not have a tv in the flat as it really gave us the opportunity to relax and chat after a hectic week! Laura was good with communication and the location is amazing. We found cheap parking just a short walk away without any problem. We would definitely stay again!

    Jennifer2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Laura met us at the door with the key and showed us around. (Even though we were late because of heavy traffic on the M25.) Everything was delightful, and just as described, so we were very happy with our stay. The apartment had everything we needed, so we made ourselves comfortable and explored Lewes, which is an absolutely fascinating town. Laura was keen that we enjoyed it, and stayed in touch by text to make sure all was going well. Thanks Laura.

Our house and garden room are an easy walk downhill through Lewes, and there is an excellent limited stop bus service to Brighton from the top of our footpath. There are very good pubs and restaurants nearby. Lewes Castle and Ann of Cleves house are close with family-friendly activities. My place is good for couples .
The studio is well insulated and has good heating and overlooks our completely fenced garden.
  • We greatly enjoyed our stay. Although unfortunately Susan was away, Dennis could not have been a more helpful & welcoming host (despite a poorly knee!). The accommodation is lovely, with everything you need to either be self- sufficient, or sustain your self between breakfasts & coffees with Susan and Dennis! It's location is great for access into Lewes, with a bus service just outside also providing transport into Brighton. All in all a great stay. Thanks once again for having us!

    kirsty2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This Air B&B is a real sanctuary in Lewes. I was made to feel so welcome and the studio is in a beautiful position with lovely views and very well appointed and equipped. The breakfasts were delicious and my dog was made to feel very welcome too and he didn't want to leave in the end! Susan and Dennis went out of their way to be helpful, providing information on the town and helpful maps. I would say that the photos do not do justice to the quality of the accommodation. There was Wifi and a good phone signal and this was important to my stay. The town itself is very interesting and this provides an excellent base from which to explore it. I would highly recommend it and would have loved to stay longer.

    Mary2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a wonderful weekend in this magical garden studio. It was spacious and comfortable and clean with views over the Downs. Susan and Dennis were extremely welcoming and gave me lovely breakfasts including home made soda bread freshly baked. Susan even gave me some delicious dinner on the Saturday evening which was generous and unexpected. The studio is a short walk from Lewes High Street which is full of charming shops, and close to lots of lovely countryside and the famuos cliff sea views in Seaford. I had a lovely break and highly recommend it. Being a Londoner it didn't bother me at all, but there is a road behind the studio so it's not completely silent, but it's very tranquil and idyllic and I would go again.

    Miranda2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable accommodation and hospitable hosts.

  • This is a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of life and yet so close to the heart of Lewes. A great location with amazing views and a fantastic breakfast with the best home made bread ever. A place to relax and enjoy the peace in the heart of the garden.

  • Lovely hosts, great location and delicious breakfast.

    Magda2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A very warm welcome from a lovely couple into their very comfortable and well equipped garden hideaway. To be in a separate building with secure access through the garden was fantastic as it was very quiet with the most beautiful countryside views. The lodgings are very well laid out, with an extremely comfortable bed, and we had plenty of space for the additional child cot they kindly set up for us. This was a gorgeous studio style but modern escape you could happily live in for weeks- we were very impressed and have house envy! We really liked being able to make our own hot drinks from a generous selection of options; and we could've enjoyed breakfast by ourselves but glad that we opted to have a very enjoyable chat over a leisurely and very copious breakfast. We were very impressed at the thoughtful provision of many local guidebooks & toiletries should you have forgotten anything- a really lovely touch; and my husband was very glad for the Rennies thank you! Next time we'll have to stay longer as the area looked very inviting but sadly we just didn't have time to enjoy as this trip it was just a practical stop off after the late ferry into Newhaven. Susan and Dennis were exceptionally welcoming and made us feel like old family friends- even playing with our 4month old baby so that we could enjoy breakfast with both hands! Thank you so much!

    Alastair2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely overnight stay here. The accommodation is separate, beautifully designed and immaculately clean. Bed extremely comfortable. Some excellent conversation and a great breakfast, which Susan had gone to great pains to tailor to my present faddy diet, meant we were reluctant to leave and would be very happy to visit again. Thank you very much, Susan.

Light, spacious double room in quiet street, 5 minutes walk from Lewes town centre.
I consider myself an Earth caring person: almost everything is locally sourced and organic where possible; even the mattress, bedding and towels. Double room on the ground floor of my victorian terraced house. Light and spacious with desk, chest of drawers & wood burning stove. Use of stove for folks who know how. Logs provided for first night, then £5 per bag or as needed. My adult son also lives here.
Quiet street close to town centre. There are lovely walks along the river a few minutes from the door step and lots of nice cafes and shops within short walking distance. In summer the house is ideally located within 2minutes walk of the pells pool, the uk's oldest documented outdoor, freshwater pool.
  • A beautiful & cosy house. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there & Grace's very friendly hospitality added to the positive experience.

    Adam 2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Grace was lovely and welcoming and gave us lots of advice about what to do in Lewes. Her house is in a great location, a very short walk from the centre of town. It is a lovely home and well decorated. Breakfast was very nice and all organic food. Unfortunately, as we were her first airbnb guests, the home was not quite ready for an airbnb. Grace had intended to get a lock fitted on the bedroom door however she was not able to organise this on time and the door only pulled to but didn’t close. Getting a lock for the shared bathroom would also help to create a feeling of privacy. Since she did not have spare keys for us she did not lock her front door, however I understand that Lewes is relatively safe. The curtains were very thin and the room lacked certain amenities such as a bin and mirror. However Grace was extremely receptive to these suggestions and I am sure these problems will have been fixed for her next guest.

  • We were met by a very friendly Georgie at midday after she kindly agreed to us checking in early. The room was perfect and just as described. I would definitely recommend staying here and would certainly stay again if I was returning to the area!

    Jasmin2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The room and en suite were fine but our main criticism was the noise. It was expected from the restaurant downstairs but there is a pub just down the road and there was quite a lot of merriment outside that went on til past midnight. There was also quite a bit of traffic noise and then there was the fridge in the room which rattled as it came on and went off and was not contusive to a good nights sleep! We stayed for two nights and got the impression that the room is used for people staying one night only as when we returned in the afternoon the room was as we left it and there were no clean crockery or cutlery. We asked the lads from the restaurant who provided us with some but we had to go downstairs the following morning to search out bowls and spoons for ourselves - meaning my husband had to go into the kitchen and his comment was that he was glad we had not eaten in the restaurant! On the plus side the breakfast provisions were very nice.

  • We actually had a surprise upgrade to Alison's self contained studio flat as she had a last minute cancellation. The flat was very central and had all the amenities we needed for a short stay. The mattresses were a little soft for my liking but other than that everything was perfect. Alison is very friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable. Lewes is lovely and worth a visit.

  • I stayed with Alison for one night and the room was cosy, with a comfy bed. Everything was clean and the bathroom lovely. Alison and her partner were very welcoming and provided a tasty Continental breakfast. Would definitely recommend it and would love to stay again should I return to the area.

  • Nice clean room & bathroom in a very convenient location!

  • We've stayed one night in the self contained B&B and Alison and Vladimir have been very good hosts. They were very flexible with both our check in and check out times. The room and bathroom are decorated with very good taste, very light and in perfect condition. The location is great, only a couple of minutes walk to the main high street and with a very nice pub close by. The continental breakfast was very good and we struggle to finish it :-) Lewes has been a great surprise, with many options if you like walking. We hope to be back soon!

The Old Bill is my beautifully peaceful apartment, located in the centre of the historic town of Lewes. The building used to house the Lewes Police Station before its conversion into flats. Inside you'll be greeted by a cosy decor inspired by my travels.
I'm offering accommodation within my flat, consisting of a large double bedroom with private en-suite bathroom featuring shower, basin and toilet. As well as a large double bed, there's a built-in wardrobe with hanging rail, kettle for tea/coffee, a laptop desk and chair to work at. Although it's on the lower ground floor, The Old Bill has high ceilings throughout and tall windows that help draw in plenty of sunlight.
I love Lewes and it's fantastic location amidst the South Downs and I'm sure you will be charmed by it too. The flat and the room that you will stay in is ideally located within a few minutes walk from most amenities in the town, with excellent coffee, shopping and antiques centers to name but a few just outside your doorstep. For more thoroughly planned trips, the town's tourist info centre is a 3 minute walk to the High Street, they'll have all the latest info on outings and activities. You can also ask me for recommendations (particularly culinary) as my appetite tends to take me wherever there's good food and drink to be had!
  • everything is good! Crean & comfortable room , great location, Rob was very kind host! I'd like to stay again.

  • This may have been my best AirBnB experience to date, and I've had a lot of them! The information pack Rob provided not only made check-in and finding the place absolutely hassle-free, his suggestions (for everything from eating and drinking to emergency services and where to get an emergency haircut and beard trim!) genuinely made our stay in Lewes better. The place is so spacious and lovely, with beautiful antique furniture and a gorgeous kitchen too. It's perfectly located, quiet, comfortable, and we could not have been happier. We would love to come back.

  • Amazing apartment. Close to amenities in Lewes, quiet relaxing and has a real homely feel to the accommodation. Rob was an excellent host and although we did not meet him, he was very easy to contact and friendly. Would definitely stay again and recommend to other travellers

  • A gorgeous place to stay in Lewes. Such a beautifully thought out and furnished house. Rob's home is a great base for Glyndebourne and exploring the surrounding countryside.

  • Great location. lovely big, comfy bed!

    susanna2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rob's flat was a comfortable and convenient base for a few days in Lewes--very spacious, uncluttered, on a quiet street but a couple minutes' walk from everywhere in the centre of town. Worth pointing out that the bed was particularly good! Rob's instructions and suggestions were clear and comprehensive and he was quick to reply to questions. Highly recommended.

    Tanya2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rob's flat is lovely and so big! More than enough space for two adults and a toddler and in the perfect location from which to explore Lewes - our highlights were the castle, Southover Grange gardens and the excellent burgers at the Pelham Arms. The really spacious, well stocked kitchen made home-cooked meals a doddle and we all slept very comfortably. The flat is also very well located for the nearby Pell's Pool for any cold-water-swim fanatics (now open through the autumn) and a very good park and playground (equipment for all ages, including a skate park). Highly recommended!

  • Rob is a truly super host, he made his home fully available and beautiful for us. The place was spotlessly clean, wonderfully comfortable and very cosy. His packages of information could not be more informative and he has made every effort to make your stay there as seamless as possible. Thank you so much Rob for a beautiful weekend in the lovely Lewes.

  • We had a fantastic 2 nights here. The flat has everything you would need and so comfortable. Tea/coffee, milk and pastry's left for us which was really helpful. Very accessible for walking into the centre of Lewes with pubs nearby for nice food. Would definitely recommend.

  • Lovely, clean, recently refurbished, well equipped flat in great location. Bus stops located close by and within easy walking distance to town centre and railway station. Host was very friendly and helpful and met us within minutes to provide parking vouchers. Very comfortable stay, highly recommended and would stay again.

  • A beautiful little flat in a great location at the top of the high street - spotlessly clean and very nicely furnished. Rosalind was a welcoming host and provided us with everything we needed. I have family in Lewes and on previous trips I've stayed at the Premier Inn, but we much preferred this apartment and it's actually more affordable. We'd love to come back and stay here again!
