“A perfect example of a contemporary British pub; family-friendly, with sports on TV, and a good range of reasonably priced food. They also have an excellent range of whiskies to try, and a seating area right on the water round the back for sunny afternoons.”

“Hosts a live jazz trio in the bar on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings, Sunday lunch and some Saturday afternoons. An excellent option for a relaxing drink with some discrete live music. They're also owned by the same people who run Fishers next door, I believe. Their menu is on par with their neighbour and counterpart, with dishes starting from around £14. While I've never eaten here personally, I'm sure it will be just as good as Fishers.”

“In the shell of a derelict pub with a dark history in the heart of Leith, Edinburgh, 'The Lioness of Leith' opened as a bar/bistro in December 2013. 'Lioness Burgers' was born in early February 2018 out of the passion to deliver a real 'gourmet' burger menu to the locals of Leith. ”

“Royal residency and armory of King James I. The building would be restored by Queen Mary in her reign & later becomes a plague hospital. Granted to Bernhard Lindsay in 1613 by King James VI, bestowing upon him the right to reconstruct the building and keep four taverns on the site. Complete with ghostly presence in the basement this building has stood in the heart of Leith for almost 600 years.”
