Lebanon Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Lebanon

1830s Greek Revival farm house set on 23 acres known as Beltane Farm. The farm is a working goat dairy producing an array of goat milk cheeses. Set on a country road, the farm offers a quiet get away with gardens and outside sitting areas. Two bedrooms, one on the east side and one on the west are tastefully decorated. There is a period parlor to enjoy including a baby grand piano. Your hosts are Paul Trubey and Mark Pearsall, several cats and Fergus the farm dog.
The Green Room: Bedroom is on second floor, shared bathroom on the first floor. The Yellow Room can also be booked for one or two more guests in a double bed.
Although we are five minutes from Route 2, the farm is situated in a quiet area near other farms. Located at the start of a dirt road, it is ideal for daytime strolls and accessible to some hiking spots. The only noise is the sound of nature and the farm life.
  • Great dairy working farm. We could not have asked for a better experience. Mark and are very gracious host. They let us use their kitchen and gave us wine and we felt very welcome!! Hope we can come back. We highly recommend this place !!

  • Paul and Mark are lovely, very friendly and it was super easy to communicate with them. Their house and farm are just beautiful, and our bedroom was cozy and clean, and they let us have our private breakfast room with coffee maker and a fridge full of nice surprises. They showed us everything around the house and farm and gave us suggestions on where to go see places and where to find nice restaurants. There is all kind of animals we could pet in the farm, just like a petting zoo. We completely fell in love with this place and if we could we would give them six stars out of five. We couldn't ask for more and we will definitely go back here.

  • Paul and Mark were very comforting. We checked in extremely late but they were very understanding. I booked their airbnb because I was working an event about half hour away and I'm glad I did. It was very relaxing and they made sure we had everything. There are pets in the house but they are very sweet and tamed. I loved hearing the roosters in the morning when I was around and when we checked out, we checked out the baby goats. I was pretty happy :)

  • Paul and Mark are fantastic hosts and their property is unique. If you are an animal lover, you will be in heaven. This home is the ideal place for travelers who need a break from city life. You'll not only have a peaceful stay in a clean, quiet and cozy room in a historic house almost two centuries old, but you'll have a chance to see the inner workings of a dairy farm that produces some of the most delicious cheese and yogurt you've ever tasted. But for me, beyond all of that, the warmth of Paul and Mark is what made my stay special. I'll absolutely be returning!

    Gabriel2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Mark were perfect hosts. They were kind, welcoming, and passionate. I booked day of and they got back to me immediately. When I arrived they showed me around and gave me some direction on where to hike. I got a wonderful tour of the farm and a delicious cheese tasting. It was nice hearing about Paul's passion for his goats. The room was very comfortable and cute. I loved the decorations. You can tell thy put a lot of thought and effort into it. The animals were all so sweet and entertaining. I'll definitely be back.

  • Paul and Mark are kind and generous hosts and made our stay amazing. We love goats, farms, and all kinds of animals, so this was heaven for us. We got to sample the delicious cheeses that the Beltane Farm produces and were offered some stunning yoghurt for breakfast. They have around 100 goats and they are so gentle! The room is impeccably clean and confortable. Paul and Mark provided towels and the washroom had artisanal soaps, shower gels, etc. We got to hang around with the animals and wake up with the roosters! Thank you Paul and Mark for making our stay so wonderful!

    Celine2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful airbnb experience! Beltane Farm is a small treasure. We loved being able to interact with all the goats, as well as learn about the cheese making process straight from Paul. The rooms were lovely and tasteful. We will definitely be back!

    Carla2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay with Paul and Mark. This property is first and foremost a working farm, which really added to the experience of visiting Lebanon. It exemplifies what I like most about AirBnB, i.e. a chance to glimpse how people live and work someplace else. It is more than just accommodation. Although, I had very particular reasons for visiting this area, I would still recommend it to anyone interested in seeking out small country villages with rich histories amid lovely scenery.

Fall is coming: fire in the fireplace and cozy up. Spacious, tranquil, a Mid-Century Ranch with a great view. Situated on 1000 acres of Connecticut farmland, access to gentle hiking trails, a backyard pool, and pond. 20 minutes to UCONN. A simple space with light and privacy, a view of fields and sky.
Northeastern Connecticut has a quiet heritage known as "The Last Green Valley", there are things to do, and history embedded in unlikely places. Getting here is by car, bus and train service sparse. It is three hours to NYC, 2 to Boston, a half hour or one hour to ocean beaches, a quick hour to the Connecticut River Valley. This part of Connecticut is not overtly touristic. There are many things to do, but you need to drive a bit to get to them. The house is situated on hundreds of acres of protected farmland that has been farmed by my family for 300 years. Right now the farm grows crops: wheat, hay, and corn. We no longer have farm animals. The backyard view is a small swamp/pond, farm fields, sunsets and sky. Deer, wild turkey, just some of the local life in the fields. If you are very lucky you may catch glimpse of the otter family who lives here. Owls at night. Coyote. Pool is open, non-heated. June and July and August, the water temperature is fine. In the house, furnishing is minimal but comfortable, with cozy spaces to read and talk. It feels small and big at the same time. This property is close to one of the only wild trout streams in Connecticut. Just down the road, at the Talbot Wildlife Management area, you can follow a pretty brook with a charming trail to a brook swimming hole that you will have to yourself. For local history, explore the old graveyards down the road. This house sleeps 6 comfortably, willingness to be creative could fit 8, although close for that. Fantastic place for friends getting together for an individualized yoga retreat, family reunions, couples who want a whole house, family gatherings. Great for those who enjoy off a stay the beaten path, or want a country setting without being totally backwoods. A simple house with a light and views.
Pretty walks, bike rides, hundreds of acres of protected farmland and a natural wild trout stream a short walk away. Catch and release only! Bring your bikes! Gorgeous hilly bike rides. Head into town, Willimantic, for local restaurants. Top picks for breakfast: Nita's, off of Main Street in Willimantic, That Breakfast Place, or Thread City Diner is open early and a fav with locals. Try the excellent small plates fare at Cafemantic on Main Street for dinner. If you love fine food, you really must try this place, the owner and chef are so talented. Beer lovers will find the homemade brews at the Willimantic Brewing Company exceptional. Great hand cut French Fries at Aero Diner, in a fantastic dining car. Head to Mansfield Drive-In for a Drive in movie. Visit The Harp on Church, for a Willi style Irish Pub. Great food and local atmosphere. A 20-minute drive will take you to Storrs Center, with new shops and eateries to enjoy. People booking longer stays may be interested in chartered sea fishing trips off of Point Judith. Arranged upon request.
  • Jennifer is a true professional. It was easy to communicate with her before and during my stay at her beautiful home. The house was clean and was as described in the ad. Jennifer put a lot of finishing touches on the stay that made my experience absolutely great. In addition to offering a home with clean towels, a clean and well made bed, and the provision of food in the fridge (tea, fruit, and even a home-made peach cobbler), Jennifer was very attentive. I can't praise her enough for her enough for making my experience at her house comfortable and stress-free. I highly recommend her B&B.

    Luna2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was highly communicative before and during our stay. A couple days before we arrived she asked what items she could stock for our stay and shopped for our requests, including good, strong coffee for my spoiled, California, gourmet coffee tastebuds. Winning! The house is spacious and has all the amenities anyone could want. We made a nice roasted chicken dinner one rainy Sunday afternoon and spent the day looking out the windows to the natural pond and farmland behind and around the property, enjoying the multitude of birds partaking of the sunflower seeds all day long. This MCM home is a naturalist's paradise, with peepers in the pond chirping the night away and scarcely a car going by night or day, any day. There are a number of large, old white oak trees on the property and they are magnificent. We HIGHLY recommend Cafemantic small plates restaurant on Main Street in Willimantic. Fine dining in Willi - who knew? Thanks Jennifer!

    Ellen2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay we had at Jennifer's farm house - it was absolutely lovely, clean and spacious, very relaxing. The beds were comfortable with quality linens. Thick towels for bathing and swimming were provided, as were plenty of varied toiletries should we have forgotten anything. But that was small compared to the fresh milk and creamer, wonderful fruit, and homemade lemonade waiting for us. Cabinets had a variety of things available to us. It was so unexpected and delightful. There was fresh coffee beans, and a brew system we had not used before - but it produced superb coffee. This was in addition to a fully stocked nespresso. But more than that was the in-ground pool which we spent hours relaxing in each day, and then we sat by the edge of it watching the sun set each evening. Sparrows fly overhead, and these beautiful hummingbirds feed throughout the day next to the outdoor seating. We were concerned that there was on a/c, as we were there during the hot part of July. But there truly are breezes that cool off the house, and ample fans are provided. We are a family that likes our a/c, but we were cool and comfortable throughout our stay. The pictures are accurate, but they do not do justice to the large size of all the rooms, and the beauty of the countryside and views from the pool. Jennifer was quickly responsive prior to and during the stay, checking in on us to see if we had any questions or needed anything. She is an exceptionally thoughtful host.

    lisa2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is the kind of place that makes Airbnb so great. The house is exactly as described in the description, and Jennifer went above and beyond to make sure out stay was as memorable as possible. In addition to a wonderfully stocked kitchen, she also left sparkling wine and a freshly baked apple dessert as well as some toys for our 2.5 year old to play with. Although our family (my wife and I and our toddler and baby) only spent one night here, it immediately felt like home. There is real history in the house. The fireplace was also easy to use in addition to being truly beautiful.

    Alicia2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • In one word: charming. Everything in this home is set up in a way to be enjoyed. The kitchen is lovely, the beautiful couches are comfy, the bathroom has soft towels and the views are amazing. Getting cozy by the fireplace, we thank our lucky stars for hosts like Jennifer.

    Peter2015-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer is a great host. I never use airbnb before. My first time airbnb experience has been fantastic. I rent this house for my family because they need to stay a few days for my graduation. Jennifer has prepared lots of food for us. The house is very vintage. My family loves the environment so much. The kitchen is great too! My family is able to cook delicious chinese meal. On the first day, the ceiling light of the bathroom is off. Jennifer quickly responsed and had someone to fix it. She is very nice and considerate. I love her so much. The only thing I feel pity about is that I didn't get chance to see Jennifer and say thank you for everything she provides for my family.

  • As old ways, our experience at Bass Road was perfect. Truly a home away from home.

    Peter2015-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • This home is always a perfect respite from the rest of the world. It is simply a lovely home in a great landscape. Jennifer does everything she can to make us feel welcome. By far, our favorite Airbnb experience.

Our lake house is situated on 1.5 acres just 250 steps to the Cove Road boat launch on beautiful Amston Lake. The lake is a pristine 188-acre retreat located in Lebanon and Hebron, CT. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, and sunbathing are all activities you can enjoy. There are no motor boats allowed so you can enjoy all of those activities in a peaceful environment. Two beaches are located 1/2 or 1 mile away from the cottage with ample parking at both.
The house is 850 square feet of pure cottage enjoyment. There are two bedrooms with a queen-sized bed in one and a full and a twin in the other. A sixth person could sleep on the sofa. There is one bathroom with a shower and a washer and dryer. There is a full kitchen and a gas grill for cooking. There is one television with cable and wifi. Our cottage doesn't have high-end finishes, but it is clean and comfortable. It's a cottage, and it feels like a cottage, especially when you are sitting on the porch swing, enjoying a cold beverage, watching the bird feeder, and reflecting on the day. Or sitting around the fire pit with friends and family, while sharing stories and roasting marshmallows. It feels like you are in the middle of the woods. One of my friends always tells me he loves to come to the cottage because it feels like camping, but with running water. We have a canoe and two kayaks for you to use, two bicycles, a few beach chairs, and some lawn games.
Lebanon is a beautiful, rural community with several operating farms. Amston Lake is on the edge of the Airline Trail where you can enjoy hiking and biking for miles. The Connecticut casinos are about 30 minutes away. Outlet shopping is located at Foxwoods Casino or in Clinton and Westbrook. The CT and RI shore are 40-60 minutes away. New York and Boston are about 90 minutes away. We are close to so much, and yet you will feel like you are far away from it all. We hope you enjoy your stay!
  • We enjoyed our stay at Todd's cottage. We had all the comforts of home in a quiet, secluded spot and we loved swimming and kayaking at the lake. Todd left everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. He was a kind and considerate host.

    Susan2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience. Awesome location at the lake!

    Lori2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • It is so quiet and peaceful, just what I was looking for.

    Kate2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean, quiet and peaceful place to stay. Great getaway from the city. Todd responded very quickly to my email and came out the next day to turn the heat on for us since the temperature had dropped. Easy access and instructions for everything made the stay very convenient.

    Alanna2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved how cozy and quiet the cabin is. We had a very relaxing stay and Todd made it so easy to check in and out. We would loved it!

    Daphne2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place that far exceeded our expectations. The lake is gorgeous (as to be expected). In the time that we stayed, it was very quiet with little traffic from boats. This made paddle boarding that much more enjoyable. As a nice little bonus, there was an excellent assortment of birds that would serenade us while we hung out by the fire pit. The cable TV and WiFi are nice little extras that made things easier and more entertaining for us. Todd was very easy to work with and the whole transaction was seamless. We'd definitely recommend and will stay here again in the future.

    Rick2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for our family of four. The cottage was big, very clean and comfortable. We felt like we were home. The beds were very comfortable. The bedrooms are on separate floors. We put the girls upstairs which allowed the adults to stay up late and not worry about waking the kids. The time that was spent at the cottage was spent mostly in the screened in area and by the fire. Very quiet and peaceful. Stores are close by. We went to brownstone park and lake compounce and both locations were easy to get to from Todd's house. Our plans fell through one day and having access to Todd's kayaks and canoe was a lifesaver. The girls stayed entertained and the lake was a short walk to the end of the street. We ended up kayaking to the beach across the lake which Todd also supplied a beach pass for, even though we didn't need to use the pass it was a good option to have. It was very easy for us to check in as well. If we decide to visit CT again we will definitely look to stay at Todd's cottage.

  • Douglas' place was beautiful, clean, and very accurate. Douglas was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend!

    Susana2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best place I have stayed at for over two years now. If Airbnb had more than the five star rating, I would rate it double the maximum. Everything is as accurate as described, if not better. Douglas is so responsive and accommodating.

    Abdelrahman2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot if you have business or pleasure close to Willimantic. Nice cozy bed and a laptop work area. Full use of the kitchen and living room areas is a great bonus! The house is very old and has 9 bedrooms, but I barely heard a peep from the other residents. Douglas was a great host, super responsive and went out of his way to accommodate me. All in all a great experience. I should mention the house is situated close to hwy 32 and there's a fair amount of road noise, didn't bother me much but if you are a light sleeper it might.

Rustic cottage on on Little River, a lovely trout stream that swishes around rocks. Great place for kids to play! Lake across the street. Canoe. Woods all around. Very quiet except for the sound of the river. Nice deck extends almost to the river. Charcoal grill. In all ways cozy and pleasant. Nice for couples, writers, artists, travelers, families, and pets—a place for quiet, peaceful people.
You have the house to yourself except, on a basement level, there is an office with one person in it. You won't need to go there, and she won't need to go into your space. The living space is on two floors. Downstairs: living room, dining room, kitchen, all essentially one space. Upstairs, a bedroom with a double bed, a loft area with two single beds, and a bathroom.
We live in a rural area surrounded by woods and water. It's quiet and safe. The amenities of Norwich, Conn. are 15-20 minutes away.
  • My brother lives in Connecticut and three of us took a vacation to go up for his wedding. Not wanting to pay the outrageous price for a week long hotel stay, looking for a place on Air B&B was recommended by my sister. I was amazed at the various selections of places listed. Glenn and Solange's place caught my eye as my boyfriend and I spend a lot of time outdoors cycling and hiking. This rustic gem was beyond my expectation for a vacation retreat. There is a creek that runs right along side of the guest house which can be viewed from the deck, acres of trees with a defined walking path on the property for exploring, a lake across the street from the main house for canoeing (which they even let us borrow!), a wood burning stove in the house, and full amenities to utilize as we needed. This is the perfect place to unwind and unplug (there is no TV, computer, radio, etc) which was perfect for us. There is WiFi of you do bring electronics or even want to keep up with your emails, etc. Glenn and Solange were very accommodating to any needs we had, all we had to do was ask. They were readily available on site as needed. Glenn even took my sister around to local farms for her to buy organic meat, veggies, and dairy! Fresh baked bread hand delivered one morning was a nice touch. They are wonderful hosts, easy to talk to and get to know. It only took us about 20 minutes to drive to the grocery store or shopping, an hour drive to the airport, the train station (the one we chose was 1.5 hour drive from the house) to get to NYC was not an unreasonable distance with another 1.5 hours train ride into Grand Central Station. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place in a wooded environment to unwind, this is most definitely a place you ought to experience(URL HIDDEN)

    Amy2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Glen's place is Comfy , cozy, rustic yet spacious hideaway on a tiny hidden peninsula surrounded by water . It's quiet ( other then the lovely sound of rushing water ) surrounded by lush nature . Very peaceful and quiet . Simply and tastefully decorated with a well equipped kitchen , wood stove and comfortable beds . There are trails all around and it looks like a perfect place for a nature hike . There's a large deck overlooking the river . Unfortunately it was pouring rain so we got to enjoy reading , cooking and relaxing inside instead . It's a great place for a writers or artist retreat or romantic get away . Also the house is immaculate. Glen was a great host . Around if you needed him but respects your privacy if you want it .

    quincy2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • House is secluded, just as described. We loved it!

    Juliet2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn and Solange were wonderful hosts! They hit the perfect balance of being warm, friendly, and very helpful while at the same time being mindful of our need for privacy, peace, and quiet. It's obvious they care about the quality of their guests' stay and they do it well. The cabin itself is perfectly lovely; comfortable, well-equipped, and clean in gorgeous surroundings. This is *not* a hotel room. It's a home away from home.

    Kristin2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn's cabin behind his main home was the perfect getaway spot to relax, spend time with nature, and read a good book. It was cozy, quiet, comfortable, and provided everything we needed and wanted. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away and relax. Glenn was the perfect host and checked in occasionally to make sure we had everything we needed. We especially loved the sound of the stream running right along the cabin, canoeing in the lake across the street, and the warmth of the wood burning stove.

    Katie2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn and Solange's place was fantastic. It was completely as described and was exactly what we wanted. Glenn was out of town so we didn't get to interact with him, but Solange was always there and never got in our space unless needed. The space is quite charming, quiet, and secluded. It was like a second home. We hope that they will allow us to return next year. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

    david2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Glen was a very gracious host who went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible!

    Grig2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn's property was everything that we hoped for. It was a quiet and peaceful oasis in the woods. We (and our pup) enjoyed our time wandering in the woods, listening to the river, and getting warm by the wood stove. Glenn and his wife were very helpful and accommodating, even as we stayed over Christmas!

House in the Woods is secluded and close to most of what you want! Five minutes from ECSU; 15 from UConn; 5 minutes from shopping; half hour from Mark Twain House. And much more. Still...once down the driveway, you are secluded – surrounded by trees and pond. Listing includes 1 bedroom, 1 bath; for more rooms, see Woods Room - Fresh Air and Peace, and Main Floor - Fresh Air and Peace. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families. People from all walks of life welcome.
The bathroom for the Lake Room is shared ONLY IF we have guests in the Woods Room too. Usually it's private! We call our place The House in the Woods. The reason we fell in love with the house was the 73 windows...with no other house in view at all...and no roads going by our yard. We love the light...combined with the seclusion provided by the dense woods. Beyond that, we love the the ample kitchen; the relaxed breezeway; the comfy dining room and living room; the ceiling fans; the cozy fireplace; the decks on east and west; the gas grill; the brook and the pond; the "camp out" space (read campfire and picnic area); and the trampoline and covered (unheated) swimming pool. There is a large smart TV in the basement, as well as an elliptical machine and a weight bench and hand weights. Guests are free to use them, with prior arrangement.
Sooooo many choices in our area...a few listed here: *Adventure Park at Storrs has seven trails through the trees interconnected by zip lines, ropes, obstacles, challenges and fun! Unlimited climbing for 2 or 3 hours. Ages 7 and up. *The whole world knows that University of Connecticut has fantastic basketball. In addition, there's an ice rink, lots of exhibitions and shows, and plenty of ag-related things to see. *UConn's Dairy Bar serves up ice cream that's worth the trip on its own! Do. Not. Miss. This. *The Mansfield Drive-in Theater is a unique community asset. This is a great drive-in with 3 screens. There are two first run movies on each screen. Many people bring chairs and tables, sit outside and enjoy the summer night…when it’s summer. The rest of the time, it’s fun to snuggle in the car. *The Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts is a public performing arts venue located on the University of Connecticut's main campus in Storrs. From student led productions to summer shows featuring stars from Broadway and Hollywood, there's something for everyone in Jorgensen's theatrical season. With unique offerings such as cabaret-style seating, where patrons can wine and dine at their own private table during the production, this venue provides a quality experience at reasonable rates. *The William Benton Museum of Art is Connecticut’s State art museum, located on the University of Connecticut. Drawing largely from its collection of over 6,500 works of art, the Museum presents exhibitions of art dating from the 15th through the 21st centuries. The museum also creates special exhibitions drawn from outside sources as well as loaned exhibitions. • Judy and Terry have a beautiful home in rural Connecticut. They are attentive, accommodating, and very pleasant to have around. We brought our children with us and it truly felt like we were visiting family in CT. I don't think we can give Judy and Terry enough praise for the experiences they enabled us to have. We look forward to returning many times in the future!!!

  • Judy and Terry welcome us when we arrived. We stayed here for 5 days. They made our stay very easy. Place is clean with beautiful lake view. Breakfast and dinner was great. We had fresh eggs every morning. Judy is a good cook. Terry gave us a ride to ECSU and to Mansfield town centre. Is very convenient here. We highly recommend this place and you will not regret it. Will definitely come back.

  • I've stayed in dozens of airbnbs and have to say this is the best value ever. Can't believe that I paid less for this place, which included a much-needed dip in the pool after an unexpectedly long drive as well as a delicious home-made breakfast, as I did for some of the dumps that I've stayed in. The property is large, the house is immaculate, the beds are comfortable, and the hosts are warm and welcoming. I am already looking for an excuse to come back.

    Susan2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in the woods, close to UConn if you are dropping off or visiting a student. Loved the swing by the pond with a glass of wine, and breakfast was tremendous.

  • My stay with Judy and Terry was superb. As this was my first time on the East Coast, Judy and Terry made great hosts. Located in a beautiful part of Connecticut, this property is one of a kind! If there is a chance to book the place, I would highly recommend. If you are looking for the true "Bed and Breakfast" experience, then look no further. Judy and Terry have everything you could possibly want at their home, and I cannot wait to go back myself.

    Nick2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you are visiting UConn or Eastern Conn, Judy and Terry's house is definitely the BEST accommodation that you can find. The rooms are very clean and tidy. Judy and Terry are very friendly. My parents and I will definitely come back again in the future.

    Chongyu2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Only one word to describe "Judy & Terry's place "WOW". "WOW" to Judy & Terry they are probably they best host in the entire Airbnb's community, friendly, caring, giving, they treat us like King & Queen, just two lovely persons. "WOW" for the location, amazing land, backyard. "WOW" for the room, comfy, CLEAN, all included. "WOW" for the best experience so far within the Airbnb community. We will be back next year, for sure ! Gigi & Marc

    Marc2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • I booked my room at the last minute with Judy and Terry for a trip home to see my grandmother whose health was failing. They were incredibly responsive and flexible before my arrival and even more so when my grandmother ended up passing away the evening I was schedule to stay with them. I ended up not staying with Judy and Terry but they were incredibly understanding both before and after the news and even offered a full refund - no questions asked. They were extremely compassionate and I look forward to staying with them in the future under less chaotic circumstances.

The Yellow Room: Bedroom is on second floor, shared bathroom on the first floor. The Green Room can also be booked for one or two more guests in a double bed.
Although we are five minutes from Route 2, the farm is situated in a quiet area near other farms. Located at the start of a dirt road, it is ideal for daytime strolls and accessible to some hiking spots. The only noise is the sound of nature and the farm life.
  • You won't find a more unique experience and wonderful place to stay in eastern CT, "the last green valley", than the Beltane Farm. Paul and Mark are fantastically gracious hosts and have created a beautiful life at the farm. We felt really fortunate that they've decided to share this place. The room and house were so charming. All of the amenities were well provided and the different tours and activities that they allowed us to partake in, made for so much more than an overnight stay. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend a stay at Beltane Farm to anyone. Thanks guys!

    Glenn2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beltane Farm is a truly heartwarming place. Paul and Mark are kind and generous hosts and a stay at their farm is an experience like no other. An absolute must for animal lovers, as you will meet their goats, chooks, cats, donkeys, ducks and Fergus the dog. The cheese they produce at the dairy is top shelf and you get to see how the whole operation works. Can't recommend highly enough; this was such a relaxing and joyful stay.

    Amila2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! The hosts were warm, kind and welcoming. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The grounds and the animals were a fun bonus. I highly recommend coming to stay with Paul and Mark and getting a glimpse into farm life.

    Karen2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Needed a place to spend the night in the middle of a long car trip. Got a bonus nature-adventure. We spent a wonderful night at Beltane Farm. It's truly idyllic for an animal lover. There are LOADS of beautiful animals roaming free everywhere, gorgeous gardens, and friendly faces. We enjoyed the company of a sweet dog, and a few goats that act like dogs, plus donkeys, cats, chickens, and ducks. Paul was nice enough to show up how his whole operation works, so we got to learn how cheese is made, and we loved getting to taste what he makes. The farmhouse itself is eclectically decorated and aged beautifully. We slept well in a very comfortable bed and woke up with the farm crowing outside. We ate Paul's amazing yogurt for breakfast, sitting in a beautiful garden, while the animals came by to say hi. It's an old house, and is a bit dusty as old houses get, but for us city-folk, it was a real country treat. Paul also made some excellent local recommendation; we had a fantastic dinner out, swam in a pretty lake, and hit up an awesome farmers market at their suggestion. But meeting 100 goats was the best part. We'd visit again in a second.

    Jessie2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! If you have never stayed at a real working farm, It a must see. A lot of labor and love go into running a goat farm as well as the DELICIOUS yogurt and cheeses that are produced there. Paul and Mark are great host and accommodate you with a antique charming room and an experience you will be sharing with friends. You will learn a lot about the nature of goats, who by the way are very friendly ( each goat has a name). No not just goats, but ducks, donkeys, chickens, a family dog and cats plus flower and vegetables gardens. A must stay on your travels. Anne

    Anne2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Paul and Mark's enchanting farm. I visited just for a night with my 13 year old daughter and her friend. They were thrilled to hold and feed the baby goats. We got to view the milking process and learn about the cheese making process there. The rooms were lovely and tastefully decorated. An added bonus- goat cheese products to try in the mini-fridge! I'd highly recommend Beltane Farm and hope to return on future trips travelling the coast.

    Carla2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paul and Mark's place! It was exactly as described plus some additional benefits that weren't mentioned in their listing. This is a great place for a getaway from the city. My wife and I would highly recommend a visit!

    Clint2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Mark, along with their staff, are some of the most wonderful hosts. The room was very comfortable and we had goat cheese, yogurt, and milk in the fridge and got to try some of Paul/Mark's baking. The cheese tasting/lesson plus the visit of the farm makes the stay especially special. I will have to make another trip out for a week so I can better explore the farm and find the owls! Definitely recommended if you would like a less conventional / more memorable experience. You will love the property and all the people there!

You’ll love my place because this is a year round waterfront lake house. You will have access to kayaks, paddle boat, paddle board, fishing and more depending on time of year. Ice fishing in the winter. No motorized boats are permitted on the lake. The views are outstanding. Dogs with updated medical are allowed.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
Located in Lebanon, CT Amston Lake Association is known to be one of the cleanest lakes in CT. Swim right from the waterfront shoreline or enjoy one of the two beaches in the association. Winter months allows for ice fishing, ice skating and cross country skiing. The area has beautiful views and wonderful roads to explore whether walking with your best friend or taking that daily jog.
Friendly people surround you and wont's hesitate to say "hello". The neighborhood has many year round occupants and as expected the majority are still seasonal, although that is changing at a rapid pace. The area has beautiful views and wonderful roads to explore whether walking with your best friend or taking that daily jog.

  • Swimmers beware: there are weeds in front of the house, but the lake has lovely sandy beaches a 1 min. drive away. There are boats, kayaks, canoe, paddle, sail, and and pedal. The lake is very pretty and clean and quiet. no motorboats! View from house is pretty sunset view. Good outdoor seating. The geographic area is not particularly interesting if you like quaint small towns and cute shops. The Air Line trail (hiking, biking) is close: bike rental in Colchester is right on trail. A great day out! The kitchen is very well equipped: house has everything you would need, including staples (salt, sugar, etc) - such a help!. There is a woodpile for fires; tubes and noodles for lake; games and cards for rain.

  • Ruth was a great host. The room was small, but the bed very comfortable, and Ruth was very gracious, always ensuring that I had all that I needed. She opened her home to me as if I was a family member, instead of a guest. Before arriving she asked what I needed, and had available items for breakfast that I requested. I would highly recommend Ruth's Air B&B if you are ever in this area.

  • We loved our stay here! Felt very welcome and comfortable. Sue and Joe are very laid back, friendly people. They were happy to chat, were quick to anticipate our needs but also gave us plenty of space to do our own thing as well. Place was very clean and prepared for guests. Our plan for the first night fell through and when we needed an extra night to stay they were quick to respond and gave us a great price for a very last minute change. We had no complaints. Would highly recommend!

    Alicia2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sue could not have been a nicer or more generous host. She communicated frequently and clearly with us. She offered us snacks at night and breakfast in the morning. There was a big TV with Netflix in the basement. She even drove us to the casino and showed us around! The accommodations are equally good. We had a whole separate area of the house including two large, nicely decorated bedrooms and a good-sized bathroom. The setup easily accommodates six people. But mostly, Sue just made us feel at home, like long-lost -- or even not that long-lost --family. We were coming from Mystic, so this was not the perfect location for us, but the lovely home and Sue's warmth and humor made it worth the diversion.

    Paul2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Sue this past weekend with a couple friends, occupying her perfect 2 bedrooms upstairs with the private bath (located in the hallway between the two rooms.) It was a wonderful stay I would recommend to anyone. Sue was so welcoming and kind, and her home is beautiful. She provided everything you could need for a stay; the bedding was lovely and both bedrooms so thoughtfully laid out with linens/towels, bottled water and even a few toiletries in the bathroom in case you were to forget something. She offered us beverages when we arrived, and the next morning had a very nice continental breakfast of coffee, juice, yogurts, fruit, muffins, etc. set out (including fresh cherry tomatoes from her yard!) Sue had lots of helpful information about the area, and once we were settled in we were also given plenty of space to ourselves to do our own thing too, a perfect balance. We absolutely intend to stay again, and hopefully next time have the chance to relax in the beautiful backyard. Thank you again Sue, we hope to see you again soon.

  • This was BY FAR the best AirBnB experience I have ever had, hands down. Sue and Joe are the nicest people you will ever meet and they made us feel right at home with some food and drink after a long day of commuting, which we definitely appreciated. They also put up a Happy Birthday sign for me after learning that it was only a few days away, which was pretty awesome! The house itself is very clean, spacious and only a few miles away from both Mohegan and Foxwoods (where we were heading) so it was a great choice for us. Top that off with the hospitality from Sue and Joe and this was a very easy 5-star rating to give. Thanks again for the great accommodations!

    Jared2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • I'd like to start with three words-"cozy, clean and caring". Sue welcomed us into her home from the moment we arrived and made us comfortable until we left. The rooms were inviting, well taken care of and homey. This is the perfect place for a weekend away in Norwich. So close to everything- Casinos, vineyards, Mystic, and more. I would highly recommend a stay here and look forward to coming again soon!

    Deborah2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Joe were so accommodating and nice as soon as we arrived. They offered us beverages and helped us navigate to our destinations. They had toiletries in the bathroom incase we forgotmsomething and provided towels and wash clothes too. They even offered breakfast the next morning before we left. They are also close to the highway so getting around didn't take that long. If we're in the area again we will definitely be back. Thanks again!!

  • We were very happy to have chosen Jill's condo over a hotel option. It is very well-appointed, clean and spacious... far more comfortable than a hotel room. It's part of several condo buildings on the grounds of the Norwich Inn and Spa and the Norwich Golf Course. We stayed 2 nights and had great time exploring the area. My husband played golf at the Norwich Golf Course (a public and very scenic course). It was an easy walk across the street to the clubhouse with great little local watering hole called the Caddy Shack Café. Mystic Seaport, Stonington Beach, and many other seaside villages are a 30 minute drive away. We enjoyed a great art festival in Mystic. We also admit to visiting Mohegan Sun Casino twice in our short stay. The condo is less than a mile away from the back "Winter Entrance" parking lot which is much easier than navigating through the congested parking garages at Mohegan. It's very clear the owner's understand creature comforts! Very comfortable!

  • Beautiful, relaxing, totally unplugged! We had incredible food at Kensingtons which is on the villa grounds. We loved villa flora!

  • The apartment is very clean and the perfect size for our family of four plus 2 month old baby. Jill's father let us in and showed us around, and gave us some recommendations for things to do in the area. Jill was very easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. I would absolutely choose to stay here again in the summertime. Highly recommended!!!

    Christine2013-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jill's place is fantastic! We're already planning on returning. We really appreciated the little extras Jill left for us - it really made the villa feel like home. The place is clean, comfortable and modern and had everything we needed for a relaxing break, including suggestions and recommendations of things to do and places to eat at in the area. Being able to use the spa facilities was also a huge plus and being so close to one of the two outdoor pools was great!

  • We really enjoyed the Villa Flora at the Norwich Inn. We were welcomed by the the hosts parents--very nice folks and given a great introduction to the house and facilities at the Villa. The Villa itself was excellent--well stocked (including a very nice welcome basket), which was important since for dietary purposes we needed to cook most meals there. Very nicely furnished and decorated--felt very much like home. We look forward to returning. It was a great place to reconnect with family in the Norwich and Hartford areas. Thanks Jill!

  • Really amazing visit to Norwich. Everything was perfect. Such a wonderful place, and upon our arrival we were greeted with kindness, and welcoming smile. We had every breakfast on the terrace (at Kensington) up at the resort on the terrace. Best location. Very beautiful place, and will now be my go to in Norwich! Thanks for everything!

House in the Woods is secluded and close to most of what you want! Five minutes from ECSU; 15 from UConn; 5 minutes from shopping; half hour from Mark Twain House. And much more. Still...once down the driveway, you are secluded – surrounded by trees and pond. Listing includes 1 bedroom, 1 bath; for more rooms, see Lake Room - Fresh Air and Peace, and Main Floor - Fresh Air and Peace. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families. People from all walks of life welcome.
The bathroom is shared ONLY IF there are guests in the Lake Room too. Otherwise, your bathroom is private!
Special events include gallery talks, campus art walks, academic and non-academic discussions, musical performances, and family programs. *The Mansfield Hollow State Park was created when damming of the Natchaug River created a 500-acre lake for boating and fishing. No swimming is allowed since part of the lake is used for public water supply. There are several trails in the park to hike. *And if you like to hike, Mansfield Town alone has about 32 miles of maintained and marked trails. Maps can be downloaded to your phone. *The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is one of America’s hidden treasures—a superb collection of over 2,500 puppets from all over the world. It is also the new home of the Puppeteers of America’s Audio-Visual Collection: the largest collection of videotapes, films, and other media about puppetry in the United States. The Ballard Institute curates and produces exhibitions of puppetry, both at the Ballard Museum and for touring across the United States. The Institute also offers workshops, museum tours, artists’ forums, film showings, performances, and other events and programs that promote the art of puppetry as a twenty-first-century art form with deep historic and global roots. *Sharpe Hill and Taylor Brooke Wineries are very close. Sharpe Hill Vineyard has received over 250 medals in International tastings. Taylor Brooke is tucked in the scenic rolling hills and has over 7,500 carefully cultivated vines and create our wines and a commitment to quality. *Yale University's Art Gallery collection has grown to number more than 200,000 objects representing Eastern and Western cultures and ranging in date from ancient times to the present day. It's an hour's drive. *Old Sturbridge Village - a "must-see" New England attraction - depicts life in an early 19th-century rural Village, featuring costumed historians, antique buildings, water-powered mills, and a working farm. You can view antiques, meet heritage breed animals, and take part in hands-on crafts. They recommend allowing at least three hours to tour the Village. Full priced admission includes FREE second visit within a 10-day period. Guests of second-day visitors receive 25% off admission. Prices are $27 for adults; $25 for seniors; $14 for ages 3-17; free for kids 2 and under. It’s a 45 minute drive. *The Submarine Force Museum, located on the Thames River in Groton, Connecticut, maintains the world's finest collection of submarine artifacts. It is the only submarine museum operated by the United States Navy, and as such is the primary repository for artifacts, documents and photographs relating to U.S. Submarine Force history. The museum traces the development of the "Silent Service" from David Bushnell's Turtle, used in the Revolutionary War, to the Ohio and Virginia class submarines. Just a 45 minute drive. *Mystic Seaport is the nation’s leading maritime museum. Founded in 1929 to gather and preserve the rapidly disappearing artifacts of America’s seafaring past, the Museum has grown to become a national center for research and education with the mission to “inspire an enduring connection to the American maritime experience.” The Museum’s grounds cover 19 acres and include a recreated 19th-century coastal village, a working shipyard, formal exhibit halls, and state-of-the-art artifact storage facilities. The Museum is home to more than 500 historic watercraft, including four National Historic Landmark vessels, most notably the 1841 whale ship Charles W. Morgan. Just 45 minutes from here and a great visit. *The Mark Twain House & Museum: where Twain lived when he wrote his most important works, including Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Prince and The Pauper and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. A stunning example of Picturesque Gothic architecture, the 25-room home features a dramatic grand hall, a lush glass conservatory, a grand library and the handsome billiard room where Twain wrote his famous books. National Geographic named it "one of the ten best historic homes in the world," and TIME magazine dubbed it "Downton Abbey's American Cousin." Just 35 minutes from our driveway. *The Connecticut Science Center: With 150 hands-on exhibits, a state-of-the-art 3D digital theater, four educational labs, plus daily programs and events, the Connecticut Science Center offers endless exploration for children, teens, and adults. From physics to forensics, geology to astronomy, visitors have the sciences at their fingertips. Just half an hour away. *The Yale Peabody Museum is one of the oldest and largest university-based natural history museums, with more than 13 million objects housed in 10 different divisions and representing more than 4 billion years of geological, biological, and human history. Whether your interest is dinosaurs, birds, the history of human culture, gems and minerals, insects and plants, or the wonders of our universe, the treasures housed within the collections throughout the museum greatly enhance teaching and learning, and often are the keys to important scientific discoveries. One hour's drive. *The Mashantucket Pequot Museum: Multi-sensory dioramas and exhibits introduce visitors to the history of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and the natural and cultural history of the eastern woodlands. Films and videos, interactive programs, archival materials, ethnographic and archaeological collections, commissioned art, and traditional crafts by Native artisans are featured in the exhibits. It's a 45-minute drive. *The Mohegan Sun Arena and Casino are just half an hour. In addition to 3 casinos, entertainment options include a 10,000-seat arena, an arcade for kids and several nightclubs. The complex also features a 55-ft indoor waterfall, casual and upscale dining, indoor and outdoor pools, a solarium, a spa, shops and an 18-hole golf course. *The Foxwoods Resort has huge gaming rooms, including a 3,600-seat bingo hall, plus restaurants, shopping, & shows. It is 45 minutes. *A visit to Hammonasset Beach State Park, is more than just another day at the beach. Connecticut's largest shoreline park offers over 2 miles of beach to enjoy swimming, strolling along the boardwalk, or just relaxing in the sun and surf. One hour by car. *The Florence Griswold Museum is in Old Lyme, about 45 minutes away. It is centered on the home of Florence Griswold ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)), which was the center of the Old Lyme Art Colony, the main center of development of American Impressionism, and has a 9,500 sq. ft. collection of American Impressionist paintings. *The New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks. The museum houses 66 aircraft, 26 helicopters, a variety of missiles, ejection seats, and other pieces of flight-related equipment. Additionally, there are exhibits on early French aviation, the Tuskegee Airmen, the Kosciuszko Squadron, and the 57th Fighter Group. It's a 45 minute drive. But that’s about all there is to do around here... Well, not really. It’s just all we managed to copy from the web!
  • This was my first AirBnB experience and I cannot even find the words to describe how wonderful of an experience it was. I tried to go technology free and they searched for steak joints for me to enjoy (unfortunately, I didn't end up at a steak joint, but found a wonderful Mexican restaurant nearby. When you come up the long windy driveway, the house seems to wait to greet you. You are nestled in the trees away from the neighbors and Judy and Terry are genuinely pleased to meet you. On the first night, I had a wonderful time getting to know them and my fellow guests. Breakfast was better and fresher than anything I have ever received for continental breakfast with eggs from their coop and made to order. The next day, I was able to get into Avon and Hartford (less than hour away) and had a wonderful spa day. That night, I enjoyed conversation again with Judy, Terry, Mathilde, and Evan and it was like old friends getting together. They are the gold standard in hospitality and down to earth people. I know not all AirBnB's will be like this but they have definitely set a high bar for the price and quality.

  • This place is a steal, it's very beautiful and there's lots to do in the surrounding area. Check out the drive in movie theater and the new developments around UConn - there is also a puppet museum! Judy and Terry were interesting, welcoming people and we felt like members of the family. (Also, breakfast was fantastic! Thanks for the delicious vegan smoothies)

  • This is such a wonderful place to stay! Very secluded and great hosts. Location was great but a drive to casino's and Mystic, for the price not a big deal. Rooms were beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was plentiful. Fantastic conversations and company. Highly recommend to anyone traveling through or looking for a place to decompress.

  • Even better than advertised. A lovely breakfast bar is included. Terry and Judy were such gracious and thoughtful hosts. The towels were the most luxurious we have ever experienced. We felt like royalty and like family at the same time.

  • Judy and Terry are the finest hosts you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting. Their house is absolutely beautiful, and peaceful. My friend and I stayed here a couple times while we attended an interpreting workshop at UCONN. When we return to Connecticut this will be our number one place to stay. Honestly I could go on for days about how amazing Judy and Terry are. You will love your stay here whether it's for business or pleasure. Oh, also they serve a lovely breakfast spread that is both local and fresh. Really can't get any better than peace & tranquility!!

    Bethany2017-08-27T00:00:00Z

  • We got a little turned around due to our gps but Carol was standing outside to greet us. She had the fireplace going and the house was warmed up for our arrival. We were glad to meet Robb the next day since we had communicated with him before, during and even after our visit. He was very friendly and accommodating. The cottage had a peaceful and quiet atmosphere/location that was perfect for being able to sleep in and do whatever we wanted or do nothing at all. The chipmunks and squirrels kept us entertained, but we also enjoyed the lake with the use of Robb and Carol's paddle boat. I'm not sure that we will ever have the opportunity to visit the area in the future, but we would definitely stay there again.

    Debbie2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Robb and his family were very welcoming and helpful when we arrived and settled in. The cabin was the perfect size for our group of 5. The lake was beautiful and just steps from the amazing back porch! I hope to stay here again soon!

    Joel2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • After a long day and finally starting the camp fire, I discovered I forgot the marshmallows!!! Robb came over and asked if we needed any help, must have looked like we were struggling with the fire, I told him about the lack of marshmallows. Soon he was back with a bag, much to our granddaughters delight! We had a great time! It is a cabin not a house, but has everything you need for a delightful vacation with kids. Thanks Robb and Carol!

    Linda2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is absolutely outstanding. The hospitality by Robb and Carol is out of this world. The cottage is very nice and has almost anything you would need for a weekend getaway. Would highly recommend this place.

  • This is the perfect cottage if you are looking for that typical cottage stay with that old time feel. It is immaculate and has everything you could imagine. We loved everything about it. Robb and Carol are the best hosts we have had since we started using Air BNB they are kind and welcoming and treat you like family. If you are looking for an amazing stay come here.

    Levi2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Robb & Carol were very accommodating. The cottage was perfect for 5 of us. It was even nicer than expected. And it was great to swim in the lake when it got hot.

    John2015-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Robb and Carol's place was wonderful! We could not have asked for a better location- the lake is beautiful. The cottage was clean, cute, and comfortable- it was everything we were looking for. The deck offered a great view of the lake and there were plenty of things to keep us busy and relaxed outdoors and indoors as well. Checking in and out was a breeze and our hosts were very responsive. They provided us plenty of information about the area and things to do along with use of their personal boats and fresh eggs from their chickens for our breakfast. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

  • We loved how welcome we felt. Robb gave us access to his kayaks and was easily available. The cottage is better than described and it us a perfect lake retreat. This will most definitely be where we stay when we return!

Only minutes from UConn & ECSU, you can stay in an over-300 year home on over 2 acres of wooded serenity, with direct access to local trails. Experience the charm of colonial Connecticut, yet with all the modern conveniences.
Our guest room is on the first floor of our unique 1713 colonial-era home, with a private bathroom just around the corner. In the cooler months, enjoy a cheerful fireside experience, and in the warmer months, all the outdoor beauty New England has to offer.
We're on a quiet street with direct access to the Hop River State Trail, a part of the East Coast Greenway, a great place for walking or biking (bikes may be available upon request). A great selection of restaurants await you in nearby Willimantic or Storrs. Also in Storrs is the main campus of the University of Connecticut (UConn), which offers a variety of activities and cultural/arts events throughout the year. Downtown Hartford is less than thirty minutes away, with all of the history, recreation, and attractions it has to offer.
  • Matthew and Adam are wonderful hosts. Their house is lovely and the guest room now has a nice new bed! I've stayed here around 10 times now without any complaints. A great place to stay.

  • Our hosts were very welcoming and accomodating especially when we arrived so late. Comfortable and clean-- we felt right at home. The location was good for us being 20 mins from UConn and all closer places were full. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet-- we would happily stay here again. Their disclosure descriptions were accurate and we knew what to expect. We appreciate being able to stay here!

  • Matthew and Adam were welcoming and their house is really lovely. We had our own bathroom and access to the kitchen and living room. They have an energetic puppy which is still in the chewing stage, so you may want to keep the bedroom door closed and not leave any possessions lying around. We enjoyed our stay.

  • Matthew always has everything ready for me when I arrive. This means so much to me as I am often tired and ready to crash as soon as I get there! On this trip, Matthew wasn't home when I arrived, but he left me a key and sent directions about how to get into the house. I appreciate his trusting me to be there by myself.

  • Had a great time in paradise ! Norm and Betty were a lot of fun and very gracious hosts. The place on the lake is beautiful with lots to do - lounging at the beach, relaxing on the deck, fishing, canoeing, sailing, you can even swim out to the island ! Norm can take you out fishing or water skiing on his boat. Its a great place for a special get away. Mohegan Sun Casino is just a short drive away for some evening fun. Highly recommended.

  • Norm and Betty were fantastic hosts, and I would highly recommend the location to anybody who enjoys nature, water, or a secluded weekend getaway. Their house overlooks a sheltered alcove to the lake, with gorgeous panoramic views of the lake and surrounding foliage from their patios and windows. The room was cozy and comfortable, and Betty makes the best pancakes. We also had a chance to use the private dock, take a dip in the freshwater lake, and Norm even gave us a boat tour around the lake and taught us how to waterski!

  • A wonderful stay! A beautiful place, highly recommended

  • Betty and Norm have a wonderful home right on the lake in a beautiful part of Connecticut. They provided more than we could have asked for to have a perfect, relaxing weekend. We took advantage of wonderful meals, kayaking, boating, s'more making, and plenty of conversation. Norm offered to take us water skiing, tubing, and fly fishing, among other options that we are saving for a future visit (as we came on a rainy weekend). The region of Connecticut is lovely, and we took a long hike in the nearby Devil's Hopyard State Park. We enthusiastically recommend these hosts!

  • I cannot find the words to express how fantastic our stay at Betty and Norman's Paradise was! They are so generous and nice people. Those gems of human beings made us feel at home right away. We had everything we needed, and even more! Betty's breakfasts were delicious (specially the home-made blueberry pancakes and cookies!) and Norman gave us boat rides around the lake. The place is very quiet and peaceful. We could use their kayaks and I had a thrill sailing their Sunfish sailboat! They also have a canoe and 2 row boats. They provide everything to fully enjoy the lake! The sunsets from their dock and from their house's deck were fantastic. Hiking trails (Devil's Hopyard), the Mohegan Sun casino and a lot of restaurants and grocery shops are just 15mn away from their house. Betty and Norman interact as much as you like. They shared a lot of very interesting stories with us. We wished we had more time to enjoy more! We're so thankful to have met them and hope to come back very soon. Paradise, it truly is! Thank you, Betty & Norman!!!

  • Betty and Norman are exceptional hosts ... but equally important... they are exceptional people. They are both full of kindness and generosity and went out of their way to make me feel at home. Their house is very well hidden from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Spending just one day there felt - true to the name - like a day in Paradise.

  • This was our first airbnb experience and it was amazing! Cute home right on the water with our own bedroom and bathroom. Betty and Norm were great hosts and made sure we were comfortable. They gave us a tour and made us feel right at home. They even made us breakfast in the morning, which were the best pancakes we have ever had, seriously. We are definitely going to book for a weekend this summer! We can't wait to go back!
