  • This was somewhat a last minute rental but has been my favorite Airbnb location so far! Daniel was great in giving directions and communication. Don't go by your GPS, follow his directions and you'll be fine. It's a bit of a trek to get there but so worth it. This house was gorgeous. Everything is texturized, wood, metal embellishments and rustic. Very intimate and quiet. It's a great retreat location. And High Mountain Pies in Leadville is amazing too! The house is amazing. If you are up for a mountain get away I highly recommend it.

  • Beautiful cabin in an even more beautiful area. The kitchen was stocked for all of our cooking needs and the living space was comfortable for lounging, playing games, conversing, etc. We shared the upstairs space and downstairs space comfortably with 4 people and our chihuahua. Beautiful view from the upstairs bedroom. Already looking forward to our trip back!

    Johanna2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic and high standard, only missed a fire place. Good response as well. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area one day

  • Beautiful home in a beautiful location. Great hikes easy to get to, Dan was responsive to every question, kitchen had every necessary. We really enjoyed ourselves.

  • This cabin was an amazing place to spend our time in Leadville. It was extremely cozy and impeccably decorated. It's a little out of town, and extremely quiet and peaceful. Daniel was easy to communicate with. We really enjoyed our time there!

    Amy2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a quiet relaxing birthday getaway. Cabin was clean and well taken care of. The woodwork in the cabin was beautiful! My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our time listening to the radio and cooking with mountain views!

    Ryan 2015-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. The setting was lovely and we felt secluded (although it wasn't that far from town). The house itself was a small but well-laid-out rustic cabin--a large expansive bedroom upstairs and a cozy open floor plan kitchen and living area downstairs. There was no kitchen table but that didn't diminish our experience at all. Four of us stayed there. The sleeper sofa was how comfortable you would expect a sleeper sofa to be--nothing more. This was a very relaxing place to be and matched our expectations perfectly.

    $165 Aspen Forest Retreat
    166 reviews
Located in downtown Leadville, The Colorado Trail House is the perfect base camp to explore the high country of the Rocky Mountains. Our 120 yr old Victorian house is quirky & family friendly. Our accommodation style is communal & reminiscent of a fun, casual European hostel. We have 8 rooms ranging from kings to bunks, all with private bathrooms. Playing in the mountains means an early start for many of our guests so we aren't a party house but the bars are close if you want to stay up late.
The Casita Room has its own entrance in the carriage house and please note, this room is not pet friendly in the winter. There is a set of bunk beds in a small 150 sq.ft room. The window faces the quiet alleyway behind the house. Your private bathroom includes a shower over bath, sink and toilet and has just recently been remodeled with new tiling, flooring, vanity and toilet. The bedroom has new carpet and paint. (please note this room is pet friendly in the summer) The entryway is unfinished and still a work in progress, but it is clean and secure. **Potential Noise Warning**. We live above you in the carriage house so you will hear us living our day to day lives, but the noise generally stops when the kids go to bed. The duct-work means that loud conversations can be heard between floors. You share a wall with a 4 person guest room and there is not much sound proofing between the rooms. We ask that you please respect your fellow guests and keep noise to a minimum, particularly after 10pm and before 7am. We have high-speed (as far as Leadville goes) wireless internet which reaches this room and all areas of the house including outside. There is no TV in the room. The guesthouse has a communal style approach to accommodation. You can retreat to the privacy of your room or hang out in one of the common areas and meet and mingle with other guests. With our downtown location you can mix with like-minded outdoor enthusiasts and have a unique taste of what it's like to live like a Leadville local. You can use all outdoor facilities including the gazebo, grill, chimenea and hot tub (when in operation). Indoors, the kitchen, living room, dining room and washer dryer are all communal.
Leadville is a 2 - 2.5 hour drive from Denver International Airport. We are centrally located 1 block back from Harrison Ave (Main Street) and within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in town. We have on-street parking which is angled in summer and parallel in winter. Leadville can be very busy if there are special events on in town but parking can usually be found within one block of the house. There are several put in points close by to the Mineral Belt Trail which is groomed for X-Country skiing in the winter and is a paved bike track in the summer. We are a 15 minute drive to Ski Cooper and Tennessee Pass and a 25 minute drive to Copper Mountain Resort. Vail, Beaver Creek, and Breckenridge ski resorts are all less than an hour away. Our historic town still holds the old-time western town feel with most buildings downtown over 100 years old. Harrison Avenue is filled with coffee shops (City on a Hill), restaurants (we love Quincy's and Tennessee Pass Cafe), bars (Scarlet Tavern and Silver Dollar Saloon), Pb the brewery, and many quirky art studios (HarperRose), giftstores (The Delaware) and retailers. You can spend minutes or hours just on that one street alone.
  • Wonderful little mountain house right in downtown Leadville! Wish we could have stayed longer.

  • Rick & Bec are very welcoming, made us feel right at home! Neighboring guests can be a bit noisy (depending on who's staying next to you), but earplugs are provided free-of-charge. Very easy to walk to downtown from their place. Rick & Bec are wonderful people!

    Matt2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Colorado Trail house was a great place to stay. The "main house" had all of the essentials; well equipt kitchen, laundry, plenty of space to socialize, play games, etc. The location is ideal, we would love to stay at the Colorado Trail House again.

    Courtney2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Bec weren't available, but their Phil was a perfect host who gave us as much privacy or camaraderie as we sought. The location is absolutely perfect, and for the price, this booking was of great value. Though knowing the size of the rental ahead of time, the room seemed just a little tight, but everything else was comfortable. We stayed here and made trips to Aspen and other national forests for some great hikes. It's the perfect home base for anyone looking for an affordable vacation in the mountains around.

    swathy2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great with welcoming host and great amenities for the price. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town!

  • We loved our stay in Leadville and would definitely choose to stay at the Colorado Trail House again! We had a great time chatting with the other visitors as well as Bec. This is such a lovely spot and a fantastic first Airbnb experience. We were very comfortable in the Casita. Thank you so much to Bec and Rick for sharing your place with us!

  • This is a fun and creative little spot to spend some time! It was quiet and yet walkable to breakfast dinner and fun little shops with lots of character. We were looking for a relaxing little getaway... this was it! We loved our bike ride on the Mineral Belt Trail, and the low key feel of this place.

  • Room is exactly as described. Bathroom was nice and clean. Eric is a really nice guy. The bed in the blue room is nice and firm. Variety of smoking accessories available. Including a thing for wax or shatter, which is Nice because that stuff is kind of expensive and it gives you the opportunity to try it with a minimal investment. Would definitely stay here again. It was awesome.

  • We had the most comfortable stay. Cassandra was amazing. The house was clean comfortable and well stocked with all the things that you would need from home. I couldn't be more satisfied with my first Airbnb. I don't think I'll ever use a hotel again especially if I can find property managers as accommodating as Cassandra. The hot tub was lovely the deck was awesome and the views were unmatched. It was in a good spot in town. We will be back definitely to visit this property again.

    Chris2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time and will definitely look to stay here on our next trip Leadville. The views from the apartment and the hot tub are a big plus. Extremely welcoming and responsive hosts.

  • Casandra's place has an amazing view and has the lovely peace and quiet to go with it. She and her mom were very helpful when we pulled up, and Casandra was understanding when we left a little late because I last track of time. A great place to stay!

    Genevieve2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cassandra's place was just as reported. It seemed larger than 1200 sq ft because of the awesome deck/hot-tub area. The view of the mountains with the hot tub is as pictured. The check-in was very easy! This was a great place to stay for the weekend with family to check out the area and to have a great kitchen to cook in/ living room to hang out in. We really enjoyed ourselves! The place was very clean and supplied with towels/sheets/cooking supplies...etc. which was much appreciated! However, the 75 dollar cleaning fee seemed like a lot to add for cleaning. The holiday weekend rate of 115 per night seemed like a deal but with the cleaning fee/taxes/service fee it was 370 somehow! Even with that however, we had a great time and fit 5 people easily! 6-7 would be comfy as well. Cassandra is right there if you need anything as well which was great! Definitely would recommend this place.

    Jenny2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay. The property has great views and amenities.

    Dancameronw2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Super Clean! Every inch. We were 4 adults/2 young kids/2 babies/2 dogs, and all was smooth. Beds very comfy for nursing, and crazy sleeping toddler. Washer/dryer excellent as we were snowy and wet from train ride. Kids watched movie from large dvd collection. We sat around kitchen bar talking all night — and with sound machines in each room, no kiddos woke. Didn’t use the hot tub, but loved the lights above it. Next time :) Met Casandra and she was great! Easy easy, peaceful, and smooth sailings...

  • Perfectly located and low key, this place was perfect for my weekend stay in Leadville while I was at a conference. Being a nonsmoker wasn't an issue. Eric who manages the house was very nice and helpful. Having the kitchen to make breakfast was great and there were plenty of bathrooms so I never had to wait. Although there were other people staying there, it was quiet and peaceful. My room was clean and had toiletries, though I didn't need them. Great stay, would do it again!

  • Shannon's place was great. Fantastic views. Easy walking distance from town. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Shannon was great with communication! She texted and emailed the day before our trip and replied to our texts very quickly. Her adorable condo was clean, warm and welcoming. We had everything we needed and more!

    Stacey2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The place quickly felt like home... nicely decorated, comfortable furniture, a warm fire place and beautiful views of Mt. Massive and Elbert. Surely one of the nicest places available in the unique town of Leadville.

    Dallas2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was easy to locate and a perfect location after a day of skiing at Ski Cooper. Shannon provided a great book compiled of local restaurants, as well as numerous things to do in the area, including hiking trails. But mostly I loved the personal note of Shannon's local favorites, which we tried and enjoyed! We were well aware that it was on the 4th floor, which was good exercise, but no big deal. I loved the quaint feel of the condo as well as the historic beauty of the building itself.

    Becky2016-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! Nice and clean. Really easy to access and only a few blocks from main street and Safeway. We walked to town many times. Shannon was great at communication and everything was really self-explanatory. Bonus points for being childproofed! The views are amazing.

  • We absolutely loved the Unit - and the entire building. The building has a great history. We were in town for the Leadville 100 (MTB version). The proximity to the starting line is perfect. This is a great place to stay if participating in any of the Leadville Race Series Events. Shannon was very accessible, quick to respond, and easy to deal with. This property definitely gets 2 thumbs up!

Ski Cooper (downhill, XC ski & snowshoeing) 10 minutes from front door. Laid back locale compared to big resorts & more affordable too, esp. for families. Late summer & fall great for conquering four 14,000 ft peaks nearby: Elbert, Massive, Harvard & Yale.
Adorable Victorian with easy off-street parking, massive party deck in front & amazing mountain views. Cozy, quiet and clean 2 bedroom 1 bath with newer appliances, new carpet, awesome wifi. Indoor board games are plentiful, flat screen and Blu Ray stocked with a variety of DVDs, and corn hole bean bag for outdoor fun! Just 3 blocks from the start of all summer race events! Minimum 5 night stay for LT100 MTB please.
Leadville is super laid back & welcoming to visitors, but is a real town. We're just off the main street where you'll find a handful of great restaurants, fun bars and a brewery, a quirky mixture of handmade art & gifts, thrift stores, a solid bookstore where you can browse, great coffee shops where you can linger and at least three amazing clothing stores. Pb-ville as it is sometimes called, is famous for crazy extreme sports and funky celebrations, like Boom Days & burro racing in the summer, skijoring in the winter and the St. Patrick's Day practice parade, also in summer. Our little house is close to the action, but also fairly quiet.
  • Definitely a gem in an adorable town!

  • This place is an amazing hidden gem in a historic town. We walked nightly to main Street for food or entertainment. The house is wonderful for the price and the proximity to Mt Elbert and Massive. Even Mt Sherman wasn't too far! Host is quick to respond and offer advice on places or fix an issues. We can't wait to come back!

  • Monique went above and beyond. She was proactive with everything and took care of us even late at night. We will always come back. The house is wonderful and the location is perfect if you want to explore.

    Leonardo2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I really enjoyed staying at Monique's clean, quaint, and totally functional home. The location is perfect as it is peaceful but only a couple blocks to the main drag in Leadville. Monique is helpful and responsive. If you like to ski, it is 17 minutes to Cooper and half an hour to Copper. Our only complaint is with the town that does a poor job clearing snow from the street. We hope to return!

    Tim2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful! Exactly what we needed to (EMAIL HIDDEN)munication was excellent, and it’s so close to downtown. Will definitely be back!

    Caroline2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Monique's place. Perfect location to walk into town and our family really just enjoyed the downtime together; we spent our time skiing at Copper Mountain during the day (15-20 minute drive when roads dry, a little longer when snowy/icy) and relaxing in the house during the evenings. We played board games and watched (URL HIDDEN) was so nice just to be together! Monique's house was cozy and perfect for us to relax and unwind.

    Jessica2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing quite little place to stay! Perfect for a fun getaway. Monique is great at communicating all the details that you will need to have a wonderful trip. Definitely stay here if you get the chance.

    Grayson2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 2 nights at Monique's place. It was perfectly located and we were very comfortable. Highly recommended for cozy stay in Leadville.

Guest bedroom in a home on top of a hill in Leadville. Beautiful views from every window. 3 bedroom home, host occupies 1 room, other 2 are used as guest bedrooms for friends, family and Airbnb. Well behaved dogs are allowed to stay, but must be disclosed and authorized before booking! 420 friendly within reason. No smoking tobacco in the house. We prefer all smoking is done outside on the balcony - you'll want to anyways with the view.
Our favorite part about this place is the view. This is a beautiful, albeit dated, home from the 70s, upgraded with the touch of a couple millennials. We have comfortable seating throughout the house, HBO/Netflix, plus a standup desk and dining table available as work spaces. The kitchen is spacious, and fully stocked. You're welcome to help yourself to anything you find in the home - we're often stocked with La Croix, Coffee + Beer!
Your spot is right on top of a hill on 6th street, just a few blocks from downtown and main street. Downtown Leadville is amazing - small, friendly and getting more and more hip every month. We live RIGHT on the course for the Leadville 100 trail run and mountain bike races!
  • The location was very close to the main street which was nice, but I wouldn’t stay here again. In general, the house wasn’t very tidy- dirty shower, blanket and kitchen. The mattress wasn’t too great either. Okay stay for one night.

    Tara2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Alex was super quick to respond and flexible with accommodations. He offered great advice on local restaurants and conversation was easy. The room was exactly what we expected for the price point we paid. Clean, Beautiful Views, warm and cozy. He was very welcoming to both me and my husband as well as our 2 dogs. Thanks soo much Alex hope to see you again in the future, we will be back if you will have us!

  • Amazing stay! The city is a hidden gem and the house has the best views in the city. Both Alex and Nadim were amazing hosts and I was lucky enough to be able to talk to them about their adventures. I would absolutely recommend this location and I know I'll be visiting again.

  • I needed a last minute place to stay and Alex was really quick to respond and accept my booking. The place was really fantastic, cozy and clean. The sunset/ mountain views were out of this world. This newly constructed home has the best of what Leadville has to offer. The attached garage makes it easy to unload car. Also plenty of off street parking. Located on the upper east side of town, the main living area on the second floor has spectacular views of sunsets and mountains in all directions. Private master suit upstairs, two living spaces with cable tv, and wifi. On site laundry, and a large private deck with great views and a gas grill. Side yard has a fenced in area for pets.
We also have provided three pairs of snowshoes for your use in the winter months and three townie bikes during the summer. The garage offers plenty of locked storage for skis and bikes. House is 1.5 blks from Mineral Belt trail. This trail is maintained during winter months for cross country and skate skiing. Our house is stocked with everything you should need for your stay, such as a fully stocked kitchen for cooking and bath towels.
  • We had such a wonderful time in Leadville. The city offers so much charm and being that this house is conveniently located within walking distance of the downtown it was a perfect fit for our group to stay there. The house was incredibly cute, clean and provided great comfort whenever we would return from our days' adventures. Whether you are like us and only had a small party (two couples) or a larger group, you will not be disappointed because there is more than enough room to spread out in the two sitting areas (with televisions) and the deck with a gorgeous view of the mountains. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Leadville and we will definitely try to stay here again.

    Nicole2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great house not far from downtown Leadville. Well equipped with outdoor seating, bikes and plenty of entertainment. Great base for our hike of mt massive.

    Krupal2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly And Rob's place is the perect family and dog friendly home if you are looking for a super comfortable base to hike the glorious mountain trails. The modern kitchen in the master suite was a nice touch. We cooked several meals and utilized the gas grill outside, which offered beautiful views of the mountains. Downtown Leadville is a short walk away. We particularly enjoyed beers at Periodic Brewing and the Melanzana factory/store. We would have utilized the bicycles had we not been toting a 10 month old. Overall, we cant think of a better home base in the area, regardless of your vacation activities.

    Bradford2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Vert nice house with great views.

    David2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly & Rob's place was a great place for our family's stay in Leadville. We had plenty of space - loved the covered deck on the 2nd level - and felt super comfy with the well equipped kitchen, bikes etc. Kelly & Rob were also easy to deal with when we had a couple pre-booking questions. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Kelly & Rob!

  • We stayed for three nights for the Leadville 100 run. Perfect house, was comfortable, clean, and easy checkin/out. Would stay again. Thanks Kelly and Rob!

Very comfortable house in a quiet Leadville neighborhood with mountain views. Sleeps 6 people comfortably. 3 Blocks to Harrison Street for dining and shopping.
  • Pete was so communicative and we found our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The home was very clean and close to Main Street. Pete had some great recommendations on food and drinks that did not disappoint. While there is no wifi or cable there is a TV and a DVD player, as well as some games! We would definitely stay again!

  • Pete was amazing; he was very communicative and helpful in every interaction. The house is beautiful.

  • Pete was a good host! Everything went very smoothly with the booking. The house has been redone and is very clean. The thing lacking for me, as an outdoor person, was a nice place to hang outside. However, there is still work going on so that may be next!

The Bunk House has its own entrance in the carriage house and please note it is not pet friendly in the winter. There are two sets of bunk beds in a spacious 400 sq.ft room. The windows face the quiet alleyway behind the house and the neighbors carriage house. Your private bathroom includes a shower over claw-foot tub, sink and toilet. The room and enclosed yard is pet friendly but we do ask no pets in the main house. **Potential Noise Warning** We live above you in the carriage house so you will hear us living our day to day lives but the noise generally stops when the kids go to bed. The duct-work can mean that conversations can be heard between floors and rooms. You share a wall with another guest room which accommodates two guests and noise and loud conversation carries between these rooms. Please, no banging of doors or loud noises, to respect your fellow guests. Quiet hours from 10pm to 7am will be strictly enforced. There is no TV in the room. We have high-speed (as far as Leadville goes) wireless internet which reaches this room and all areas of the house including outside.
  • Everything was great... We got in late and left early in the morning to go hike Mt. Elbert. We didn't get a chance to meet Rick or Bec, but the experience was welcoming and great for our stay. :)

    Mary2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place right in Leadville! We had stayed at the trail house in February and liked it so much we decided to come back with our out of town guests. Our friend had an accident at Cooper ski area so unfortunately we weren't able to stay the night, but they were very nice and understanding about our situation. Can't wait to go back for another visit.

    Kyle2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for what we needed!

    erin2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • As always, we had a great stay at Rick & Bec's place with Mandi. The bunk house was neat, a private detached retreat from the main house, but just as cozy. We had four beds with clean sheets and clean towels waiting for us upon arrival. We are always looking forward to our next trip to Leadville. :)

    Logan2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location in Leadville. Right off the main strip and private access was perfect.

    Amy2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were in town for a mountain bike race, so arrived late at night and left early. Location was great, right in middle of town. The bunkroom is just as described, simple, spartan, sleeps 4. Lots of amenities, though we weren't there long enough to use them much: nice common rooms, large kitchen with breakfast food provided to cook yourself, hot tub. Ric was friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a good stay and definitely a good value. If you're looking for a funky place with the friendly, not-hotel-perfect atmosphere of a youth hostel (but with people of all ages) this is a good choice.

    Lynn2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Bec place was perfect for us! Very warm room on a cold night! We also had situations in which we showed up later that expect and it was very easy to find the place and get set up! Will definitely come again!

    Alex2016-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed Rick and Bec's place and would definitely stay here again. It was a last minute trip to the mountains on a major holiday weekend and their place exceeded all expectations. From the location (one block from Leadville's new Pb craft brewery and its downtown strip) to the quaint accommodations (private spacious bedroom/bath, as well as kitchen, fridge, laundry, hot tub, and common area access) I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area! Not to mention, both Rick and Bec are simply very friendly people and down-to-earth. Look no further if your plans take you to the area!

  • This was my first time staying at the 8th Street Dig, and I will certainly be back. Bill's communication was great, and the man knows everything there is to know about having a great time in Leadville, and Colorado in general. The house is walking distance to all of the cool shops and restaurants on the main strip. If you are looking for a getaway into the Rocky mountains, the 8th street dig is the place for you. The best airbnb at 10,000 feet in the world!!!

  • This home is very beautiful and well maintained. The beds are very comfortable. Bill made it so easy to arrive and answered all our questions. The home is close to the main drag so access to the quaint shops and restaurants is a very short walk. The restaurants are very good, but we also ate several meals in the house, which had all the cooking pans and utensils that we needed. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

    Jeff2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The 8th Street Dig is a terrific spot. It is located within a short walk of Harrison Avenue (Leadville's main strip) making it a great jumping off point for mountain activities and all the great restaurants in town. Rocky Mountain National Part, Aspen, Vail, etc are all a short drive away as well as great activities locally including hikes around Turquoise Lake, four wheeling in Buena Vista and fishing the Arkansas River. The house is also a walk or short drive away from mining and national forest roads that make accessing the back country very easy. The house is nicely furnished, very clean and offers fast wifi. Mountains views are right outside the front door and the house makes the perfect platform for an individual or small group looking to unwind in the Rockies.

  • This is a great location, very comfortable stay. Quaint, charming, clean - everything we were looking for. Would definitely stay here again. Bill was so nice to send me a message one night to let us know of a meteor shower. He told us when and where to go. We immediately loaded up the car and now have a family memory to last a lifetime. Thank you, Bill!

Our cozy, fully updated 1880's Victorian home places you a half block from Harrison (Main Street). Grill in our private fenced backyard, cook in our well equipped kitchen or doze in our comfy living room after enjoying all Leadville offers.
Comfortable and cozy, our home becomes your home in Leadville. Relax with a book or cable TV by the wood-burning stove in the living room, or prepare a tasty meal in our well-equipped kitchen. If you are a musical sort, there's even a slightly out-of-tune piano! A great space for romantic getaways or a couple traveling with a friend or child, this home comfortably sleeps three, with a full bed upstairs and two twin beds downstairs. We allow you to push to four guests, but we fret about your comfort, the line at the only bathroom and the small space. The dining room table seats a comfortable four to a squeezy six, or you can spill out to the private backyard patio with tables and seating for four. A gas grill makes outdoor dining a relaxing way to enjoy summer evenings. We are just blocks from the race start and finish. We hope you'll take time to check out all the other fun things to do in Leadville while you are here, like exploring the mining district, walking/biking/cross-country skiing the Mineral Belt Trail, hiking 14's, and checking out our beloved Fish Hatchery with all its pleasant hiking trails, or visiting our historic buildings and museums.
While Leadville is famous for our summer races, we are also fifteen minutes to Ski Cooper, thirty minutes to Copper Mountain and under an hour to Vail, Beaver Creek, A-Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Monarch for skiing in the winter. During the winter, we also offer many well-groomed free cross-country trails in and around town. In the summer, activities include mountain biking, fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling and gold panning, all set against a backdrop of spectacular mountain scenery. History buffs may enjoy touring our National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, the Healy House and Dexter Cabin, the Tabor Opera House, and many other landmarks in this National Historic District, all steps from your door. I'm the chair of the Tabor Opera House board, so if your visit falls on a performance date, you may find tickets to our evening show.
  • Stephanie was an outstanding host and we really loved her place. This house has a ton of historic charm, combined with all the essential conveniences. It's right off the main drag in Leadville, so walking around town is easy too. I was looking for a nice house as home base for a weekend of hiking and sightseeing. We arrived Friday night and Stephanie met us at the door and walked us through the house. She really thought of everything you can want for cooking, sleeping and relaxing for the weekend. We enjoyed cooking, grilling and eating outside and watched movies by the wood burning stove while sipping wine in the evening. We really enjoyed feeding veggie scraps to her pet chickens in the back yard chicken coop. They were pretty cute chickens, which e referred to as "the girls". Stephanie also had a great assortment of coffees for breakfast. We had a great time and highly recommend this place. Just wonderful.

    Mark2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, hostess was accommodating. Walking distance to downtown and great restaurants. Great street view of the mountains. Our daughter enjoyed the chickens.

    Matthew2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We love Leadville, especially the adorable, quirky Victorians in downtown. Stephanie's abode did not disappoint. She is a very gracious host and SUPER easy communicator. It was truly like staying in a dear friend's home, inviting you to "Make yourself at home!" LOCATION!!! You'll be hard pressed to find a more inviting abode smack dab in the center of downtown. This was so convenient for us as my husband was doing the Inaugural Leadville Mountain Bike 3-Day Stage Race. By days end (and it's early beginnings) we found that location was the most important in our lodging selection. Like most antiques, "they made things smaller back then". Delicate and dainty, these houses tend to be. Be uber careful on the steep staircase. The steps are much smaller in depth than modern steps so don't be caught in a surprise on the way downstairs. I found it most safe to descend backwards (like climbing down a ladder) while holding onto the rail (oh and without slippery socks on) We would stay at Stephanie's Charming Victorian again in a heart beat! Thank you Stephanie! Aloha!

    Jasmene2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Stephanie's was one that prompts us to tell friends why the airbnb experience is so great. This rental is for the whole house, two stories, 5 plus rooms, backyard perfect for relaxing and dining, and the home is 1/2 block from downtown. The house was true to it's original period, with many Victorian touches, but also was comfortable with many modern upgrades. Staying at this home made it easy to fantasize that we lived there during our Leadville stay. Stephanie was great at making us feel at home during our stay. She was great about speedy and detailed response before out stay; even going so far as to giving us detailed recommendations for Tom's birthday dinner. Though we were able to let ourselves in, Stephanie was sweet enough to come over to welcome and help orient us - a perfect blend of welcoming us and leaving us alone. She even encouraged us to use the spices and olive oil from her kitchen. Totally welcoming. This space is a jewel and we'd recommend it to any of our friends. Plus Leadville is funky and charming and the surrounding areas are spectacular. This is going to become a hot spot on airbnb

    Lisa2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house! Stephanie was a great host very accommodating and went out of her way to make us feel at home! Great stay.

    Eliot2015-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome experience staying at Stephanie's beautiful Victorian home in Leadville. The location is great, the beds were comfortable, and we really enjoyed the décor, and relaxing in the back yard, and watching the chickens. Stephanie was a great host, and since we had arrived by bike with a bike tour, she graciously picked up our bags from the school, and helped us get back there early on our checkout day. She provided delicious coffee, and good towels, restaurant recommendations, and overall, made sure we had a great experience in Leadville. There are some steep stairs to the upper level, so keep that in mind if you have any trouble with stairs. I will definitely recommend to friends, and hope to be back. Thanks Stephanie for making out short stay in Leadville so enjoyable.

  • I would highly recommend staying at Stephanie's fantastic house. It really is charming as the description says. Stephanie's artistic eye is highly evident in the lovely way her home is decorated. The beds were amazing, and the tea and coffee available was a nice touch. Stephanie was very communicative and a pleasure to work with. The location is also great as its walking distance to all the main restaurants and cafes in Leadville. You won't regret staying here!

Relax at our carriage house, formerly our art and yoga studio. Great for anyone seeking a simple, quiet space less than a block from the main street and events.
Our carriage house was our art/yoga studio and currently we are renovating the interior and exterior space. Furnishings are at a minimum as we renovate. The Zen House includes a common living space and a loft with two twin beds (must be able to climb stairs). Board games and cards are in the loft to play in the adjacent beds. Kitchen includes full refrigerator, double burner cook top (full oven to come), toaster oven, coffee maker, and sink. Shower has a small water heater allowing for 10 min hot showers, with shampoo, body wash, and lotion available. We live in the main house and share the yard with you. Please, no additional guests at this time, no pets, and no smoking in or on the premise. Thank you.
Less than a block from the main street, 2 blocks from a playground, 5 blocks from the mineral belt loop bike and ski trail, 15 min car ride from Ski Cooper, and 30 min car ride from Copper Mt Ski Resort. Turquoise Lake and Twin Lakes 10-20 min away are great areas to fish, canoe, and stand up paddle board!
  • My Host made me feel very welcome and I felt immediately at home. The neighborhood was so quiet for being only a block off of all the fun on Main Street . I would highly recommend this Little piece of heaven for your Leadville get away.

  • I booked this place for my brother to stay when he was in town and it was perfect. It was exactly as described, and Anahise was a great host and very friendly. The location was perfect, and its right in the heart of town which makes it easy to walk everywhere. I highly recommend staying here if you want a great place to easily enjoy Leadville.

    Domenic & Abby2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Leadville was so much fun and Anahise's Zen Carriage House was a perfect home base for hiking in the mountains in the morning and walking to drinks and dinner in the afternoon and evening. Loved the carriage house and the loft bedroom! We'll definitely be back to Leadville and would certainly stay again. Thanks!

    Scott2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice cute carriage house. Neighborhood was really quiet despite being only a block from town. Perfect location to walk to the shops, restaurants, or to the starting lines for most of the Leadville Race events. Note: it is a loft and you will have to go up and down the ladder to get to the beds. But that was clearly stated in the description. 4 stars (instead of 5) because the main living area does not have curtains in it and this is where you end up getting ready and changed, so it is lacking some privacy. Curtains will make this place 5 stars. Anahise was a fantastic host and very accommodating.

    Jeff2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Anahise and Eric were amazing hosts. The place was comfortable and cozy, I loved the loft twin beds! The full kitchen was a great surprise and the living room was a wonderful place to practice yoga and stretch out. The hosts were responsive and thoughtful and made my stay really wonderful. They even had wild flowers in cases carefully place throughout the carriage house. Their Victorian house and yard were so beautiful and were one short block or a brief stroll to the Main Street of Leadville. I'd stay with them anytime they'd have me.

    Sara2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place- Super convenient for me as a LT100 racer. Eric and Anahise were great hosts and lovely people! Highly recommended.

Beautiful newly remodeled lower level duplex available for rent. The unit features brand new appliances, gas fireplace and spacious living areas right in the heart of town. This quality of lodging is rare in Leadville!
This recently renovated apartment is a breath of fresh air in Leadville. A total of 1600 square feet and everything is brand new! The rental unit is a walk-out garden level apartment that boasts lots of natural light with full-sized windows throughout. The kitchen is completely new and features stainless appliances, including a glass top range and top of the line dishwasher. Although there are 4 double or queen beds (including a pull out couch) the suggested occupancy is 6 or fewer adults.
Leadville is a small town, leaving almost everything within walking distance. Our home is only 3 blocks off the main street where you can find many restaurants, shops and bars. Also within walking distance is the Mineral Belt Trail, a paved walking/biking trail that creates a loop around town and passes through several historic mining districts. In the winter the trail is groomed for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or fat tire biking.
  • Erika and Chip's place is great. The space is very large and private. You'll find everything you need in the kitchen. We didn't know there was a hot tub when we booked, so that was an awesome surprise! They are fantastic hosts and the location is great.

The Blue Room is upstairs in the main house. There is a comfortable king size bed in a spacious 300 sq.ft room with a large bay window looking out over 8th Street. Your private bathroom includes a shower over bath, sink and toilet. The upstairs floor is shared with 3 other guest rooms. There is an adjoining enclosed sun room that includes a twin size sleeper sofa which we can make up for a third guest. There is a 1" memory foam pad on top of the sleeper mattress which makes it more comfortable, but it is still a sleeper sofa, so not ideal for larger or heavier people but perfect to accommodate a child or smaller guests. If you don't find the sleeper comfortable enough there is an extra mattress stored under the king bed that you can use. The bay window has a ledge which you can sit on and take in the street life. There is a small love seat and dresser with mirror. Along with the sofa, the sun-room has a small desk and chair and a wardrobe and could also easily accommodate a pack'n'play, which we can provide on request.
  • A good place in one of the nicest towns.

  • Our second stay with Bec and Rick and we may make it a few more times. The CT house is a lovely old house with character on a quiet street, just a short walk to everything downtown Leadville has to offer. I can't imagine you will find better in this small, historic town.

    Jeff2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nicer people than Rick and Bec you will not find. Very good with communication and making you feel at home. The kitchen had lots of goodies including fresh fruit and the stuff left behind by other guests. If you like the option to coffee clutch with other guests, this is the place for you...big living room and dining room make it easy to meet people. Bed was roomy and comfy. Night was quiet.

  • A great no frills, comfortable place to stay right off the main drag in Leadville. I'd describe this place as the perfect hybrid between a hostel and B&B with friendly folks coming and going. With the amount of foot traffic coming through, the place, it was surprisingly quiet and private. We stayed in the Blue Room with a bed the size of Texas! It was a perfect place to come back to after our long hike up Mt. Elbert.

  • A remodeled charm of a home in Leadville. Perfect location for any of the leadville race series events. About .75mi from downtown makes this place walkable but keeps the quiet neighborhood feel to the home. Kitchen and bathroom look great after the remodel. Very comforting place to stay. Thanks!

  • First, a shout-out to any other non-serious cooks at there - no microwave or garbage disposal. Still a 5-star kitchen, but we were caught off-guard when we arrived with our cooler full of frozen dinners. Can't fault Nicole for the confusion though, airbnb really should list microwave as an explicit amenity. But, the overwhelming assortment of cookware, utensils, etc., made it easy to adapt and go back to "old-school" cooking which fit with the vibe of Leadville. The electric tea-kettle was really nice, in addition to the coffee grinder and maker - definitely set up for hot morning beverages. The home was clean, cute, quiet, and yes, cozy. Lovely wood everywhere. We were up for a Christmas ski trip to Cooper and Copper, and we really enjoyed unplugging and just snuggling by the woodstove fire every night - a real wood fire is quite the luxury for us cityfolk. In addition to ample firewood, they even provided a tin of kindling, which was very thoughtful. The neighborhood is wonderfully quiet and dark, and the views of the stars and mountains are great. If you are up for the Winter, remember that this is Leadville, so plan on lots of snow in your parking spot and expect to walk in the street instead of on sidewalks. A snow shovel was provided for clearing the porch and walk after a snow, so that was much appreciated. The kitchen and bathroom are recently renovated and very nice as you can see in the pictures. Though the remodeling was still a work in progress during our visit, everything was functional and we really enjoyed our stay - didn't really want to leave but had to get back to work.

    Byron2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend Nicole's place. It's super cozy and was perfect for my aunt and me. The kitchen is well equipped - for me this is one of the most important things. I like to cook and it's the main reason I rent houses when I travel and I felt like I had everything I needed in the kitchen. Plenty of blankets and bedding for the chilly Leadville winter nights too! Awesome shower as well. Also, Nicole is great and was very flexible with me when I was making the reservations. I read in one of the reviews that it was too far from town to walk, which I disagree with. It was only about a 10 min walk and the only time we drove was when we went out exploring beyond town. I can only see it being an issue if you have a disability, otherwise, one of the reasons to go to Leadville is to be outside!

  • Cozy, cute, and clean house in Leadville! This spacious house is perfect for friends or just a couple. Location is easy to get to and is near the main drag (it was a bit too far for us to walk to.) Great place to stay while exploring Colorado. Love the decor! Kitchen has everything you need to make meals at home. The bed is not very comfortable, if that’s important to you.

"Studio 508" is located in the heart of historic downtown Leadville. Surrounded by mountains in all directions the downtown echoes both the fortunes and struggles of a real Colorado mining town. Close to restaurants, unique local shops and of course the tallest peaks in Colorado.
The studio has a very open feel to it. Vaulted ceilings give it an airy feel and only add to the charm of this mining town retreat. Breathtaking views directly to the west can be seen through the two large picture windows. There you'll find Colorado's two tallest peaks, Mt Elbert & Mt. Massive. A fully equipped kitchen, full bath and extra sleeping in the loft, the studio has everything you'll need. Granite coutertops, stainless steel appliances, flat screen tv, blue ray player, Netflix and in-floor heating are just some of the ammenities. Oringinal wood floors with soft plush rugs, the space is completely relaxing! At the same time you're just steps away from Leadville's most popular Coffee and Espresso house. The smell of baked goods will surely drift through the air as you walk down the stairs for your morning cup of coffee.
The downtown has a culture all its own. Unique shops are scattered up an down Harrison Ave. At the north end there is Melanzana, Leadville's only outdoor clothing company that's been making gear since 1985. Products are made locally right there in Leadville. Mountain biking and road biking- it's a lifestyle. Check out Cycles of Life. There are plenty of gear shops to get you setup for winter or summer sports. Dining options include American, Mexican and Chinese. "Quincy's" is a steak house and they like to keep things simple. Your choices are filet mignon or prime rib depending on the day. "The Grill" has been serving Mexican food in Leadville for years, it's located on Elm Street and worth a visit. Western Hardware and the Spanish flea are two interesting antique stores. Leadville after the sun goes down can certainly be entertaining. Check out the Silver dollar, the Scarlet, Periodic Brewing or the Trailhead.
  • Awesome location! Beautiful apartment right in the heart of downtown - it's a perfect launching off point to see the city. Epic views and the coffee shop downstairs makes a terrific breakfast. Would absolutely stay here again if we come back to this area.

  • This place is an excellent staging spot for Leadville exploring. Coffee downstairs, many food options within a block or two (or less), and on the main drag in downtown. Very clean place with an amazing view of the mountains and Harrison Street.

  • Perfect place to stay in Leadville with everything you would need. Your on the main drag so expect a little traffic noise, handy to everything and Nick has obviously put a great deal of work in to the studio. Pleasure to be there.

  • Loved staying here, such a cool little studio. All the amenities were perfect and it was great being able to drop down to the coffee shop for breakfast. The view of the mountains from the kitchen table is amazing and the location is perfect for doing anything in town.

    Chris2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Nick's place and used the studio as a home base for skiing at Vail. The space was spectacular in design, location, and atmosphere. Sitting right above a coffee shop is a special treat (no bundling up for morning coffee! and breakfast burritos!). The space was full of special details like floor inlays and antique tools. As an architect I really appreciated the painstaking attention to detail of the building restoration. Nick was a wonderful host and very responsive with both logistic info and recommendations on local eateries. It is obvious he takes pride in the space and community. The loft bed was very fun and cozy. We rented skis very affordably just feet from the front door which meant more time for us on the slopes. Overall an incredible experience and we can't wait to go back to this little slice of Colorado paradise.

  • If you are in Leadville, you can't help but notice all the preserved history all around. Staying in a house built by a former CO governor is pretty fun and unique. Also, we were walking distance to everything and the place was tidy and just enough for our needs. Would definitely recommend, such a great value and lovely area!

Beautiful home on top of the hill just outside of downtown Leadville! Breath-taking views from the walkout balcony + every single window in the house. We're right on the Leadville Race Series course for the 100 miler bike & run.
4 blocks from downtown/main street Leadville! Also right on the Leadville Race Series course for the 100 miler bike and run
  • LOVED Alex and Nadim's place. It's right down the street from downtown Leadville but at the top of the hill so you get a great view of the entire mountain scape. The place fit our group comfortably. It's just a 30 minute drive to Vail but we ended up paying way less than our friends who rented a 3 bedroom in the Vail area, so that was perfect. It was also nice to have a "getaway" feel. Would highly recommend!

  • Alex and Nadim's place is absolutely great. It was perfect for our needs - quiet, fast internet, TV, GORGEOUS views, and everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare our meals. Having the three bedrooms and spacious living area was ideal for our 6 person group. Would highly recommend and will definitely come back!

This bright, open, and cozy mountain home is the perfect place to stay while you adventure at 10,200'. From behind the house, you can ski, bike, run, or hike on the 12-mile Mineral Belt or hit the trails behind the house that head up the east side of town. Or, stay in and drink hot cocoa while you watch the sunset over Colorado's two tallest peaks, Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive. About 1/2 mile away from the main street, you can easily walk or drive into the charming town of Leadville.
Leadville is one of few remaining untouched, authentic Colorado mountain towns. Come here to play outside, escape from the bustle of the city, read, write, cook, and bask in the 300 days of sunlight. In the wintertime, we are about 1 hour from Vail and Breckinridge, both of which offer amazing ski resorts. We also have our own local mountain called Ski Cooper, which has both downhill and nordic ski options. There are also miles and miles of backcountry skiing on the east side of town and up by Fremont pass.

  • Rene's place is a true jewel. It's private, spacious, central location. It's at the basement of the house, with private entrance. Rene is such a wonderful host, we got a very warm welcome and walk through the place. The bathroom with sauna is superb. The bookshelf corner has so many books! We were in Leadville for the 100 miles race, and the place was perfect for resting up before and after the race. Lovely experience overall.

  • We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of room and amenities offered. It was very comfortable, spacious and it was like coming home. Renee went out of her way to make sure we knew everything about our place and also had fresh ground coffee, fruit and snacks. The location was convenient enough to walk downtown for lunch, dinner or shopping. The neighborhood was quiet and there is a nice walking/biking path directly behind the home. There was a beautiful array of wild flowers in the entrance to the home too. We would highly suggest you stay here, very enjoyable.

  • Rene was a great host. She offered to answer our needs at anytime. However, her place was so well set up, we never had to ask her for anything.

  • My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this lovely Leadville home so much! Everything was exactly as promised. We never met our hosts but they communicated with us on a timely basis and were available to answer any questions we had. We know Leadville well and appreciate what a funky little community it is. We liked being only a couple of blocks from the main street and could walk to all the restaurants. The bed in the master bedroom was really comfy and we loved having a bathroom upstairs as well as on the first floor. The little gas heater works really well. The kitchen is straightforward and efficient. Nothing fancy, but we had everything we needed and definitely would consider staying here again!

  • This is a great place for families. Very comfortable and quiet. There is a beautiful view of the mountains and it's close enough you could get to skiing and bigger cities, but far enough away to be very quiet and get away from all the noise.

  • We had a really nice three night stay at this home in Leadville over Christmas week! Amidst 7 degree temps and snow storms outside, we stayed cozy by the fire, enjoyed the Apple TV, and made some great meals in the well stocked kitchen. We would happily return in the future and felt the value was excellent, especially as this place is central to so many local ski mountains and areas to explore! I'm certain we will be back. Thank you for the lovely home!

  • We loved this house. Some friends and I rented it for a week and absolutely loved the time we spent here! Leadville is a great little town and the mountains are all around you. It is a great place to stay if you are looking to be close enough to popular cities to drive but far enough away where you feel like you are really in the mountains! We went skiing at ski cooper and rented from bill's ski rentals in leadville.
