Lake of the Woods Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Lake of the Woods

My place is close to Crater Lake National Park, Sky Lakes Wilderness, Crater Lake Zipline, Upper Klamath Lake and so much more. You’ll love my place because of the views, the outdoors space, the location, the ambiance, and the people. My place is good for multi-generational families (with kids), big groups, small groups, folks looking for privacy and being close to nature, and those with furry friends (pets).
Often guests' first response when they walk in the front door: "Oh wow, this has such a great vibe! This feels like home!" That is the best compliment I routinely get. Guests love playing in a commercial kitchen, ALL the bathrooms, and the incomparable views...but most of all, they love the relaxed, private and cozy feeling. You and your family/friends can just be yourselves. The surrounding area is rural and rustic, and yet invites year-round exploration. Often guests have come to this area because of Crater Lake, and then realized there are a TON of other sights to see, places to visit and things to do for all ages. Our area has everything from a Children's Museum to the famed Favell Museum of Western Art and Indian Artifacts, pow-wows to pontoon boats, festivals to trail riding to concerts and evenings with the stars so close you can reach up and touch the Milky Way. Who isn't Crystalwood Lodge and Crater Lake's Backyard good for? This is NOT a good location for people who want: * To bar hop and party till the sun comes up * To find underground raves and dance scenes * Looking for the ultimate trendy urban experience * People who don't want to take responsibility for taking care of the space and environment, picking up after themselves and leaving a place better than you found it * Need an all inclusive "club med" type experience where your every waking moment is filled to capacity with pre-planned activities * Blast super loud music all night long, just because they can * Aren't interested in exploring a bit off the beaten path and devising their own unforgettable experiences In short, our area just outside Crater Lake (what we call Crater Lake's Backyard) and our property in particular (Crystalwood Lodge) is PERFECT for people looking to slow down, unplug as much as desired, rejuvenate with natural amenities like clean mountain air, stunning skies and sunrises/sunsets and the best water you've ever tasted (from our original hand-dug homestead well - quarterly tested for purity yet designed and purified by nature to be the way water was supposed to be). If you want to step into the space of your true neighbors - hundreds of species of birds, plants and animals - and reconnect/strengthen the important relationships in your life - this is the primo location to do just that.
My neighbors are the elk, squirrels, racoons, trout, hawks, coyotes and dozens of bird species, especially the cliff swallows that nest on 3 sides of the lodge. My nearest human neighbors are 1.5 miles to the north, or 7 miles to the south, so plenty of privacy whether you're seeking a commune with nature, an intimate wedding or a celebration with family and friends. The nearby communities of Rocky Point, Fort Klamath and Chiloquin feature local flavor: restaurants, galleries, small groceries and gift shops, parks, museums, local events and other attractions.
  • This was a great place for our large family to relax and enjoy time together. It's very peaceful. You can go for walks, rent the boats, relax inside, explore the surrounding area, etc. our teenage children did not get bored. It easily accommodated our group of 16. We loved the walk-in fridge!

  • Amazing secluded beautiful old home. The commercial kitchen is a cooks dream. The walk in refrigerator is such a bonus. The fact that almost every room has its own shower should be first on the list of amenities this place provides. Just stock up on groceries so you don't have to leave paradise. We had all of our dogs with us as well. Off leash the entire time. She even provides doggie blankets to put on your bed so Fido can still sleep with his buddies. I wouldn't ask for a single thing to change. It was peaceful and stunningly beautiful

Cready's Mountain Retreat is actually the bottom floor of a larger main home located in Southern Oregon 60 minutes from Crater Lake. It is a full 750 sq ft basement in our home; entirely separate with its own entry with windows looking out into the yard. It includes one bedroom, one bath, a full kitchen, and a large room with two futons. We also have a cute "cozy" cottage just next door.
  • The place, although clean, has some lingering smell. Not sure what it is but it is def. there and bothered us a bit. Mark was nice to provide some room freshners but they were not so effective. The place is clean and comfortable otherwise and the hosts were very nice.

  • This is a great experience and a great honor to live in this house, me and my family are extremely happy during the time we live in the place, it made a wonderful start for our vacation!

Our cozy cottage is close to Klamath Lake & great views of nature. You’ll love staying here because it quiet and simple. Our cottage is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). Have you ever slept in a murphy bed? The kids will sleep on a pull out sofa. Like a said, it's cozy!! We also have another rental right next door called Cready's Mountain Retreat. It also sleeps 4 but has a separate bedroom.
  • This is a great place to stay when visiting Crater Lake, kayaking the area and relaxing. The space is very comfortable and well appointed. The isolation of the area makes for a very dark, quiet atmosphere.

  • We loved out stay at Christine’s place. It’s a cozy little cottage, very comfortable and serene. Christine was very responsive and professional by phone and email. I would recommend this place to anyone planning a vacation in and around Klamath Falls.

  • Nice place to stay when visiting Cratet Lake. Only one hour scenic drive away. House is clean and has a full kitchen.

    Lisa2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • pros 1. nicest cozy cottage perfect for a small family with fully equipped kitchen 2. only an hr drive from crater lake, klamath lake and lava beds national monument 3. The drive is absolutely beautiful and totally worth it cons 1. mosquitoes (although Christine did leave mosquito repellant in the cottage, thanks!) 2. no cell phone service or internet (which can be a pro really) 3. can get really hot inside the cottage in summer no a/c only fans No real cons. We absolutely loved this place and would recommend it to anyone visiting Crater Lake or nearby area.

  • We came to Klamath Falls for the Crater Lake. And indeed, the location is convenient, less than one hour drive to the rim of the caldera. But the good surprise is that the Klamath area is also an interesting place, worth spending some good time. Thank you to our hosts for their kindness.

We wanted a place to escape the hustle and bustle and retreat into the wilderness to make lasting memories with family and friends. This is a retreat for all seasons! Experience the beauty and wonder of the wilderness. Take a walk, go for a hike, swim, paddle around the lake, catch frogs, go fishing, chase butterflies and enjoy nature. When the weather cools, come into the warmth of the cabins for games, food, puzzles, reading and movies. Relax and enjoy!
We hope you feel comfortable and cozy in our home designed for relaxing. A special game room and sleeper loft for the kids makes this ideal for big families. The deck overlooking the lake adds to the peacefulness of this getaway.
We have some of the best restaurants available very close by! Herriman Springs Lodge is approximately 5 miles away, along with Rocky Point Resort, both of which are DELICIOUS! In the Summer months, you can enjoy outdoor concerts and movies while grabbing a bite to eat at Lake of the Woods Resort only 15 miles away. Crater Lake is only a 30 minute drive to the North along the base of the Cascades.
  • Host is super nice. Great experience. Location close to Crater Lake. Quiet, beautiful area.

    Evan2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay! It was exactly as described and very clean. We hope to come back!

  • The Cherry Creek Ranch was fantastic. We stayed with 9 guys for a fishing trip and I don't think we could have found a better location. The house was comfortable and spacious. We had a great time fishing in the lake. Karli and her family were accommodating and welcoming. I would highly recommend the Cherry Creek Ranch to anyone and I hope I can go back again with my wife and family.

    Kevin2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Karli was great at responding quickly to my messages and to our last minute changes. The house itself was clean and fine. There was plenty to do inside the house like games, puzzles, fuze ball, etc. but really we came for the outside environment. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked and we ate breakfast and dinner at the house and packed our lunches for our day trips. The house is very remote, which we liked. There was little to no cell service and just OK internet. This was fine for us. We rented the boats for a day and did catch and release fishing a few different times. The lake is so picturesque! It was fairly buggy at night so we stayed in at night but spent most of our days outdoors. We spent time at Crater Lake and the Rogue River. Expect to drive for quite a bit to any particular location. The Southern Oregon area is beautiful. We had 5 adults and 4 kids ages 19 months-7years old. Everyone had a wonderful time. We would definitely consider returning for another trip.

  • Very spacious -- more than we had hoped for. Best equipped kitchen I've ever had at an AirBnB. Host was always punctual to our correspondences. Beautiful retreat or launch point to Crater Lake and other area attractions.

    Mike2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome host, they were incredibly helpful and friendly. We had a great stay at the ranch. This is definitely a place to comeback to in the future.

    Daniel2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful house located near Crater Lake! We had an incredibly enjoyable weekend at Karli's house with our family and friends. The property fit 8 people comfortably, with lots of space throughout. Super clean, and well maintained interior. There is a lot of room to relax, a great kitchen to cook in, games/tv for enjoyment, and a great backyard deck overlooking a peaceful lake. Updated interior and appliances made bringing and cooking our meals super easy. Outdoor grill was perfect for grilling. We had a great time bonding and traveling to Crater Lake. Can't wait to come back and relax in this charming house!

Built in the 1950s, this mountain retreat has been a family favorite for generations. The cozy little cabin sleeps 10.
Upstairs you will find two rooms, one with two double beds and the other with a double and a queen. Two single beds are located downstairs next to the living area. Heated by a wood stove, the cabin has a full kitchen complete with refrigerator and microwave. You just need to bring your own dishwashers. The natural spring water piped into the cabin is the purest you'll find.
  • Sweet cozy cabin in a gorgeous setting, and a quick walk to the lake.

    Anya2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a true cabin experience and some place to take the entire family, you will love Dana's and Sally's cabin. The lake is right there.. We had an outside fire pit and an inside fire. So lovely. The beds are wonderful and comfortable. Plenty of spices, wood and blankets... You will love it. We stayed 3 days we could have stayed 7....

    Kim2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice cabin with pretty much everything you could need. My aunt also has a cabin at the lake, so we spent most of our time over there with the rest of our family, and pretty much only used this one for sleeping, so we didn't end up using all that was available to us, but it is a very well equipped cabin with access to a community dock and boat slip, games, a grill, a parking pass for the lodge/day use area, and pretty much everything else you'd want or need. We have Verizon phones and had great cell service and access to data at the cabin. Lake of the Woods is absolutely my favorite place in the world!

    Lexi2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a amazing, cozy and quiet, the beds were comfortable, it was the perfect getaway for us. 5 minute walk to the lake, great for swimming, kayaking, and the like. 3 minutes to the resort which has great food, boat rentals (we rented a pontoon boat, which was a blast). Dana was very communicative with us about everything we needed, and answered all our questions quickly. Would definitely stay there again.

    Paul2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect cabin for a family. We took our six grandchildren to the lake for three nights. The cabin has everything you need. Very cozy and comfortable. A short walk to the lake and a dock to play on. A great fire pit for evening and s'mores and memories!

    Jane2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cabin in the woods close to a beautiful, uncrowded lake.

    Wade2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this quaint little cabin in the woods. It was a little hard to find but Dana did give us very detailed instructions. We loved going to the nearby resort where we only paid $16 for an hour paddleboat ride. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant one night and dinner at the marina another night. The pizza was so good I wish we could go back again. The cabin is very private although there are quiet neighbors nearby. We appreciated Dana's detailed list of instructions and tip. She was helpful through it all. The lake was not a a far walk. The main reason for out stay was to attend a wedding in Klamath Falls and then go to Crater Lake. The cabin is perfectly situated between the two locations. We did miss having wifi but there is nothing wrong with taking a break from the internet. Our US Cellular phone had no problem with reception at the cabin. The cabin was cozy, small but does have room for 10 sleepers. I loved the history that was abundant if you paid attention to the personal details in the cabin. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Our cozy log cabin is your time capsule back to simpler days! Charm is everywhere from knotty pine interior to a wood burning stove. Fully functional kitchen & bathroom, large deck. Trophy-sized "Redband" trout, world-renowned bird migration area & million dollar views complete your experience!
Amazing lakefront location! Charming, peaceful log cabin with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The two beds are in one room with a slatted wall divider, so it is semi-private. Towels and bedding, 20" electric BBQ, coffee, creamers & filters, playing cards/games, some books. No wifi and spotty cell coverage encourages walking, paddling, napping, reading and generally re-connecting :)
Row of lakefront cabins with frontage road for a good walk. If you're up for an extended paddle, we highly recommend renting a canoe, kayak or small boat at the Rocky Point Resort for a trip through the canoe trails to see wildlife up close. Fishing (with license - available at the Marina store) can be done from boat or right off the dock. The lake is not very deep so try to use floating lures or flies if possible. Worms tend to work well also. Finish off your time on the water with an ice cream from the Marina store, then enjoy the amazing view from the deck as the sun goes down!
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the lakefront cabin. The cabin looked much better in real live then the pictures we'd seen on AirBNB; they really don't do it justice. The lake an marshlands are absolutely stunning. Large trouts jumping and waiting to be bought, floks of pelicans feeding just in front of the house and bald eagles searing the sky. We really loved exploring the wetlands to further enjoy the wildlife (beavers, river otters, red ibis). The fishing was absolutely stunning. It took me a while but catching those monster-trouts is something else... Rocky Point RV park is jus around the corner and has some basic facilities (store offers a small supply of fishing tackle, some drinks and ice-cream). The folks there kindly offered us to use the WiFi. On top of all the awesomeness you have Crater Lake. Something else altogether; great. Just avoid Annie Creek; one of the worst restaurants we've seen in a while. Michael and Kristin we awesome hosts, always ready with good tips and helpful hints. Couldn't have wished for more. Would love to get back here any time!

    Peter2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place. Peaceful, charming, cozy and authentic little cabin in the woods and on the lake. Easy drive to Crater Lake, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds with warm, cozy quilts and beautiful sunrise views. Michael and Kristin gave us precise, easy to follow directions and even let us use their kayaks. This clean, bright, rustic cabin was a wonderful airbnb find. Wish we could have stayed longer. FYI Verizon and Sprint both have good reception if you need to stay connected.

    Nancy2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was exactly as stated, and the place is very very comfortable. It was actually better than we expected. Cozy and rustic, but faucets, fixtures and shower were all updated and in good working conditions. Do arrive with your groceries, as the nearby Markets are more for last-minute or quick meals. We had some last-minute changes and Michael and Kristin were willing to work with us, and were very accommodating.

  • Great communication, beautiful view of the lake, and a cozy fireplace. Made for a great weekend getaway.

    Kerry2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the cabin and view of water. Great kitchen for cooking. No complaints.

    Pam2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful. The photos don't do the scenery justice. The owners are responsive, accommodating. This was my first Airbnb rental and had a smooth, pleasant experience.

    Basak2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time using Airbnb and I feel we were quite spoiled. Mike was extremely helpful and got back to me right away about everything from the cabin amenities to the best way to fish. He said there had never been a power outage but left us instructions and bottled water incase there was one. He even checked on us once we were there. This made me feel very safe(URL HIDDEN) Mike and Kirstin went out of their way to make my two daughters ages 5 and 2 feel at home and the cabin was well stocked with cards and games. As well as anything else I needed in the kitchen(URL HIDDEN) I was able to relax inside with a good book and still feel like I got to participate in the fishing that my husband and girls did with the close proximity of the dock. My 5 year old even caught a 5 pound fish with her Barbie fishing pole(URL HIDDEN)The views and wildlife were amazing, we often walked down to the marina for ice cream and we spent Friday at The Lake of the Woods. We also ventured out to Crater Lake which was breath taking(URL HIDDEN) The cabin was extremely cozy and we enjoyed our vacation immensely. It felt like we were staying a good friend's cabin. I will be recommending this cabin to my friends and family who want a quiet relaxing getaway and hopefully returning myself.

    Candy2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Super quick and helpful communication was only the beginning of this great AirBNB experience. Mike was great answering all sorts of questions about fishing, the cabin, the area. Everything was so easy, just as it is meant to be. Wow! What a wonderful spot. So quiet, so beautiful and just a great little cabin to get away from it all. From trout jumping in front of the dock to pelicans swimming past our kayaks, we loved every minute. Cabin well stocked for cooking and relaxing. Was great to just sit on the dock and read.
