  • Our stay at Amy's place was everything we hoped for. A peaceful cabin by the water with the perfect amount of amenities for a comfortable nature stay. Her husband Owen was really kind in getting us settled in and made sure we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed their cozy cabin and all the beauty, peace and comfort the place offered.

  • The cabin was absolutely beautiful. The place was so clean and fully stocked with all utilities and amenities. It was very cozy and felt like home. Amy was an amazing host, with very swift and helpful replies. Her husband and her were always very eager to help, such kind people. The view is absolutely beautiful, it was a rare experience. Would definitely recommend anyone looking to stay in Algonquin!

Their place is lovely with private kayaks and caones and a cute little private waterfront area. The common bathrooms were super clean. Loved the stay!! We plan to come back soon :)

  • Amy was super nice to provide tips throughout our stay. She sent people to help us started the camp fire and made sure we had enough time to checkout. The place! Has the best lake view. I can’t wait to come back in the summer to have more fun on the lake. The cabin is super clean and cute, spacious enough for a group of four. Thank you Amy!!

  • Cosy, offline cottage (wifi availible at the office building 1min walk away). Spectacular view on the lake - directly at the lake. Order firewood, use the fire pit, take a drink and simply enjoy!

  • Very responsive and lovely place to stay! Clean cabin with Great Lake view

    Morgan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely spot! Having the lake right at your front door is beautiful throughout the day - from early morning quiet, to canoeing in the afternoon, to watching and listening to the loons in the evening. Amy was great to respond to any of our questions right away. The little toilet in the cottage is very convenient but the brand new, sparkling clean washrooms are just a few steps away - literally. We came up, a spur of the moment decision, to spend a day in Algonquin Park. But this space was so quiet and relaxing that we just spent the day hanging out, enjoying the lake.

The pod is 10x10 feet of beautiful Algonquin pine. It has lights and electrical outlets for charging your phones and laptops. The french doors open wide and a sliding screen door comes across when you want to lay in bed and enjoy the stars in the north sky. Flycatchers and hummingbirds are right outside visiting the flowers. The window at the back of the POD allows a refreshing breeze on a warm summer night. The screened gazebo is comfortable with a wraparound view of the pond and outdoors.
Sleeping in the pod is "glamping" in style. With a double bed and memory foam mattress you will feel much more comfortable than in a tent yet still get that sense of sleeping out in the wilds of Algonquin. Moose, bear, lynx, pine martin, snow shoe hares, turtles and foxes live right around us and if you are lucky you will spot one coming to the pond or traveling past. Nothing to worry about with these beautiful animals. They avoid us humans and go about their business of eating and raising families. Coming to the trees and pond are numerous birds including kingfisher, ducks, olive vested flycatcher, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, chickadees and blue jays. With the sound of the breeze in the trees, the warmth of the sunshine and the knowledge that all this wildlife is healthy and thriving nearby, you can't help but feel peaceful and one with nature. The pod has two side tables, an arm chair and a bench. There are two wall outlets and a power bar so you can charge your phones and plug in your laptop. WIFI is available but this is the country so it isn't always the best - I recommend bringing a book :) It also has a tiny mini fridge that can hold six beverage cans and/or milk and cream. There is a keurig coffee maker in the pod so you can enjoy your morning coffee before you head out on the trails or launch your canoe in one of the many lakes nearby or in Algonquin Park. You are welcome to bring your own keurig coffee pods. We offer complimentary coffee and tea each day. Cream and milk are provided just let me know. Algonquin Park is only a few minutes away. A car is needed to get there. We provide the $18 day pass, at no charge, which allows you entry into all the campground beaches, trails, the Visitor Centre and Logging Museum. WIFI is available but living in the country means slower speed . Often it depends on the weather and time of day when useage increases with the server. Cell phone service can be unreliable but most of the time works. You can use my house phone if necessary. We provide complementary BUGGED - an all natural bug repellent we make here. You can read about it at www.greathealing.ca. We want you to have a great time here and, for a few weeks in June, black flies and mosquitoes are having the time of their lives :)) Our bug repellent is proven to be effective and it feels and smells great!!
We are situated on four acres surrounded by crown land in a quiet country setting without neighbors close by. There is a natural pond that attracts lots of birds and wildlife you can watch from the screened gazebo. At the corner of the property is a 5 km winding dirt road that goes past a marsh and wetland lake. We offer mountain bikes to explore the area. McCoy Lake is clean and beautiful for swimming. This small springfed lake is one km south and has good bass fishing with an area to launch a canoe. The town of Whitney is 8 km away and has three restaurants, a french fries stand, two gas stations - one with a mechanic - grocery store, liquor store, post office, gift shop and an outfitters store for canoe/kayak rentals plus any outdoor supplies and clothing you may need. Whitney also has a sandy swimming beach right in the town. The East Gate entrance to the park is just a few minutes north of Whitney about 15 minutes from the POD.
  • Had a great stay at the Healing Pod. The weather was not great, but that just meant we got to spend our day relaxing, reading a book in the gazebo, catching a lazy nap in the pod. Everything we needed was available to us and we had just a lovely time. Would definitely come back again.

  • Joanne has created a wonderful place, where you can enjoy the nature, the wildlife and get know the alqonquin park.

    Ann-Josephine2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne is an amazing host! She’s extremely thoughtful and prepares everything you need! The space itself is extremely “homey” and private. The pod is clean and has ample lighting. The outdoor washroom is clean and Joanne provides face and body towels for you. The gazebo is a great space to relax and prep your food in. Joanne was also nice enough to prepare a fire for us at night! 12/10 recommend staying at the healing pod!

    Jamie2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne is probably the most organized and friendly host I have ever encountered. Prepare to have a pleasant, beautiful and calming stay at a remarkable place with lots of nature around you. There are even cute chipmunks in the garden.

    Klaas2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is extraordinary and wonderful to visit the endless nature of Algonquin Park. Joanne is the perfect host.

    Maik2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great long weekend at the pod. I highly recommend staying here! Gorgeous place, so peaceful!

    Meganne2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really lovely house, even much more beautiful than the pictures. It is surrounded with purple flowers, which makes this place looks like just in fairy tale world. My girlfriend likes it so much. And the host is really helpful! Great communication! We will absolutely come again!

    Ethan(YuChen)2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Unique nature retreat. Both charming and rustic but not too rustic. A great way to unplug and be really close to all Algonquin has to offer but without having to set up a tent. Joanne is a wonderful host.

In a time of such uncertainty, our primary focus with our cottages is to provide you with a safe and worry free escape to stretch your legs. We have implemented a new policy that allots for 4 days between bookings where no one enters the cottage. On the 4th day our cleaners enter fully protected and sanitize thoroughly. These measures were implemented not only to protect our cleaners, guests and family, but also to assure we are not contributing to the spread We take pride in this.
The Lakefront cottage is a brand new renovation that sits right on the edge of Little Mcgarry Lake, a small private lake, all yours to enjoy. Winter activities include ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. We are right beside a trail system that leads into the major trails that are ideal for snowmobiling! The rental includes 4 ice fishing poles, 4 pairs of snow shoes and a map of the trail systems for snowmobiles. The cottage is outfitted with mid century modern and antique furniture and feature all original art by Canadian artists. Guests staying here will have all the luxuries of their own home with a full kitchen, wireless internet and more! This is the perfect family cottage getaway and yes we allow your 4 legged friend to tag along! We look forward to hosting!
Maynooth is a quaint little Ontario town with lots of little art galleries and antique stores. They also have a delicious breakfast spot for those morning that cooking just isn’t on the agenda. Our backyard is essentially Algonquin park so your adventures to be had are endless!
  • We had the most amazing time at Joshua’s cabin. If you are looking for a dog friendly rental with lots of trails on-site to explore, this place is for you! We snowshoed the property for a total of 5 hours over the course of the weekend. Our dogs were able to be off-leash which we all loved! We did a few trails twice because they were so nice and explored a bit on our own between the trails. There was so much to explore we didn’t feel the need to leave the property to explore other hiking areas. There are lots of nearby trails for those who want to check out more, but we were just happy to stay put. The cabin is cozy and has everything you need! We felt spoiled with the large kitchen with a fridge and stove and full bathroom with a shower and tub! We personally loved that there was no cell service, so we could completely relax without distractions. You can connect to the WiFi as needed, which is a great option. We had such a great time and we will be saving this property to our favorites list for future getaways! I can only imagine how gorgeous this property is in the Summer and Fall!

  • We spent 3 nights at the cottage with our kids over the family day long weekend. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful nature. The view of the lake is breathtaking and the trails on the property are amazing for snowshoeing. Such a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. We went snowshoeing on the lake as well and had a fire pit and roasted marshmallows that Joshua kindly got for us at the store. The kids had an amazing time tobogganing down the hill right in front of the cottage! We also drove to Algonquin Park, which is about a 45 minute drive from the cottage. We had a small issue with the water but Joshua came to fix it right away. He was such a great host who really went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay!

    Berengere2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot for our overnight snowmobile trip. Joshua could not have been more friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

    Anna2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing. Me and my family, my kids loved this place. My oldest son ask me if we could live there forever 😂

    Jhonielly2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is everything as described! Perfect location very clean and rustic definitely a place I'd recommend or return to for summer adventures!!

    Matt2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • (French follows) Joshua's cottage is absolutely wonderful, located by a lake and surronded by hiking trails, with beautiful views, decorated with taste (Joshua is an art lover) and all the comfort you can wish for if you like cottage life, but with Netflix and Google Home ;-) My daughter and I went there for a long winter weekend, we had the opportunity to hike, dogsled just nearby, and relax in these amazing surroundings. The place is ideal for up to 4 people, with one (very comfortable) double bed bedroom and one bedroom with twin beds. I am dying to go back in the Spring or summer to enjoy the barbecue, the scenic fire pit and the canoeing! If you hesitate between several places, definitely PICK THIS ONE! I may add that Joshua is a rare host. First of all, he's a real person, not a lockbox, he himself lives on the premises and supervises another cabin there, but the land is vast and there is a lot of privacy for all. But mostly, he is very nice, careful and considerate with guests. We had car issues right before arriving at the cottage and Joshua was so helpful with everything that we managed to get everything solved rapidly. He also gave us good advice about the surroundings and activities and was available throughout our stay to make it really enjoyable! Book this place! Joshua's chalet is a small wonder, perched above a lake, surrounded by numerous hiking trails, with a magnificent view, tastefully decorated (Joshua is also an art gallery owner) and has all the comforts you can dream if you are looking for your "cabin in Canada", but in a version connected to wifi, Netflix and Google home ;-) We stayed at the chalet with my daughter for a long winter weekend, we were able to hike around, walk on the frozen lake, go dog sledding (10 min) ... I really want to go back there in fine weather to enjoy the barbecue, the campfire ideally located by the lake, and canoeing (Joshua rents and also loan equipment) !!! The chalet itself is ideal for 4 people or less. If you have children, the chalet is very well suited (games, sleds, buoys, etc.). Ponies, horses, sled dogs, boat, hike, wild animals nearby ... you will love it! If you hesitate between several places, choose this one ABSOLUTELY! Joshua, the host, is VERY nice. He is a real person, concerned about the well being of his guests, not an impersonal key box. He lives on the property, where he oversees another gite, but the grounds are large enough for everyone to enjoy their own private space. We had a car problem when we arrived and Joshua really did everything to help us. Thanks to him, the problem was solved quickly and we really enjoyed our stay! He gave us lots of great advice! I over-recommend this chalet !!!

    Tiffany2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great winter cottage! Views are unreal - even watched two otters play on the frozen lake this morning! Ice skating 10 mins up the road and tons of hiking. We even tobogganed on the property! Though the cottage is within close proximity to Joshua’s home, it still felt very secluded and private. I would definitely revisit. It was a great stay :)

    Kate2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location. Josh was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Lots of hiking opportunities both on the property and just a short drive away from Algonquin. Highly recommend!

  • This was our 2nd time staying at Dave's cottage. We loved it so much in the first time that we returned again. The place is very spacious, great for a large group. We received detailed information from the host well ahead of the trip. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to everyone.

    Ankita Barua2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay with lots of people. Lots of beds and lots of bedrooms, and lots of lounging space for everyone. 3 families with 6 kids among us disappeared into the Lakehouse, even during a rainy spell when kids can typically get underfoot. A great place to stay.

    Kelly2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place! We loved the location; amazing access to snowmobiling trails, close to the general store / gas station, the overall spaciousness of the house, spectacular views of the lake, kitchen was fully equipped which was wonderful as we like to cook. The host's directions, property instructions and area information were clear, witty and very helpful. There is no doubt that we would love to rent this place again! Thanks for being a great host Dave!

  • Awesome spot would recommend the lake house to anyone

    Taylor2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for families and kids. Very large space indoors and outdoors. Lots of seating. Large kitchen to cook food. Beds were comfortable. House was well heated. Pool table and boats provided were nice. We used the large TV to hook up to laptop and karaoke machine. There was also satellite TV with lots of channels which was great for the kids. No WiFi though. Rogers data was slow, Bell was good. Washrooms are updated and very clean. Would’ve been better if there was a dock to fish off of. Overall, great place to stay! Thanks Dave!

  • We had a good time in that Amazing cottage. Jean was very helpful and Always available to answer our questions. I recommend 100%. Thank you !

    Remy2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful lakeside property. The cottages were sparkling clean and the cottages were stylishly decorated. Highly recommend this property which is not far from the east gate of Algonquin Park. Jean was very responsive to any messages. Looking forward to returning again.

    Murray2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place is fantastic. It’s loft style and cozy. Jean has games for guests to play on rainy/ grey days . There is a fire pit outside and a fire stove inside so rain or no rain you’ll have that cottage feel. There is a gazebo for lake side eating and jean provides life jackets for use of the canoe and paddle boards, a major plus. It’s lovely and super quiet and I would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quiet cottage getaway.

    Miranda2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had had a great time at Jean's place. Location is great both for visiting Algonquin park (through east gate) and for spending time at the lake (Jean lets you use their Canoes and SUPs!). Foliage is amazing in the park and just starting around the St. Peter lake so the next few weeks should be fabulous at the cottage. Communication with Jean is very easy and helpful. It is important to note that one of the 4 rooms is located in the adjacent cabin and it has its own washroom ( it is mentioned in the listing but I somehow missed it :-)).

    Oren2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

Come and enjoy a nature lover's paradise that is located on quiet Boulter Lake in Lake St. Peter. This well equipped, squared log cottage sits on 3 acres, very private. The East Gate of Algonquin Park is a 20 minute drive. This cottage has been in our family for over 20 years and the land for almost 100. My (mike) grandfather and grandmother bought the land years ago and in 2013 my wife and I bought this cottage from my aunt. Hence the name. "Deep Roots in the Pines". We hope you will love it.
"A" frame style log cottage with a large screened in porch. 1 Bedroom 1 Bath (3piece) with a large open loft containing 3 twin beds. Cottage heats with a gas fireplace and electric. This very private cottage is located on 3 acres of land on a small and private Boulter Lake. Available Spring, summer and fall. There is an outdoor fire pit area and a dock with plenty of room to sit on during a nice day. Owners live near by so any concerns during your stay we will be there to help.
The cottage sits at the end of a short road so it is very quiet. There is a general store and restaurant near by. Algonquin Provincial Park is about 20 minutes away.
  • This chalet is located on the beautiful lakeside, the surrounding colorful forest is very beautiful and the room is very warm.

    Ying2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place, very private. Went with the guys and would love to come back with the family!

  • We had a wonderful time at this cozy cottage. Beautiful location on the lake amidst the fall colours. Feels very secluded. We went for a hike in Algonquin but all agreed that the view at the cottage was better. We felt right at home and made many special memories together as a family!

  • We loved Mike and Laurie's beautiful cottage in the highlands!! Being 25 minutes from Algonquin park, having our own dock on the lake to enjoy, and a firepit in the backyard were some of our favourite highlights. Thank you so much for hosting us!!!

  • If you are looking for peace is completely right here. The cottage is located off the highways on a quiet lake. There is a private dock, a great porch and the possibility to go canoeing. The accommodation is clean and well equipped. The evenings by the fireplace were very comfortable. We definitely recommend the accommodation!

  • We have been coming here several years and every year we love the place more. The lake is beautiful and quiet. The cabin is spacious and very comfortable. It is so close to Algonquin park and other great spots. It is a special place. And we plan to be back next year and for years to come.

    Hilary2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had another peaceful and relaxing weekend at our favorite cottage. Thanks Mike and Laurie!

Small cabin with two single beds. Picnic table, fire pit and chairs. Outhouse locates nearby. Great place to sleep if you are going to be out all day hiking, geocaching, fishing, canoeing, atving, snowmobiling, cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Horseback riding is available on site.
There is a campground across the road that has a grill so you can grab something to eat there. Pizza, burgers, icecream etc. They also rent canoes, motor boats and kayaks there.

  • Amazing spot, super unique, clean and secluded. Initially I was unsure but turned out to be an amazing, peaceful, snow-filled oasis. Great location to go adventure and hike. 🤙🏼😁 10/10 would recommend

  • Easy check in, the cabin is just like the photos. Very clean. Very much enjoyed walking the trails behind the property and petting the ponies on site. Overall great stay!

  • Tammy’s place was good. Perfect for an overnight stay. It was clean and people are friendly. Tammy also helped us find the right trail. The room was cozy and warm and I will definitely go back there in future.

  • A super cool hut in the middle of the forest. The bedroom was very clean and the wifi worked too. Tammy was very nice and helpful. The only thing that could possibly be in the description is that the toilet is just a dump toilet (which in the middle of the forest is perfectly adequate!).

    Sophie2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a picturesque place to stay at the southern end of Algonquin. The cabin was very clean and cozy and the location was perfect!

Our cottage is located on Big Straggle Lake in Harcourt Park, nestled at the southern point of Algonquin Park in the Haliburton Highlands. The cottage has a great view, southern exposure, and good swimming at the dock. Whether you choose to relax on the dock, go for a swim, enjoy the view from the deck, fish, use the pedal boats or row boat, go for a hike, or enjoy some of the family friendly events run at the Harcourt Park community centre, you will enjoy your time here.
Big Straggle Lake offers year-round fishing, great swimming, and we have a row boat and pedal boat that you may use to explore the lake, several islands, and even a hidden passageway to Little Straggle Lake. Our dock is large enough for sunning yourself on hot days or just hanging out with friends on the chairs and picnic table. There is a fire pit overlooking the lake with plenty of seating to host your party (and firewood at the ready), and a grassy area beside the cottage on which lawn games can be enjoyed. We have a full size kitchen with a double sink, microwave, stove/oven, full-sized fridge, and BBQ for you to enjoy. At your disposal are many other personal appliances such as a coffee maker, toaster, Actifry (alternative to deep-fryer), George Foreman grill, and blender. There is plenty of storage space for whatever you bring up as well. The living room has a widescreen TV, DVD player, and VCR. There is a small TV, DVD player, and VCR in the first bedroom (the one with four bunk beds). We have lots of VHS tapes and a few DVDs to watch, books to read, and games to play, should you find yourself stuck inside on a rainy day or need something to do in the evening. In the living room, there is also a wood-burning stove to which you may curl up to after you build yourself a fire in the evening.
Harcourt Park is a non-profit cottaging corporation in Ontario, Canada, composed of 6,900 acres (28 km2) of land, 18 lakes, and 600 surveyed properties that are individually leased in favour of private ownership. Established in 1959 by the Sumcot Development Corporation, Harcourt Park was designed to provide its residents with the unique opportunity to experience a cottage lifestyle within an unspoiled, protected environment. While a guest in Harcourt Park you have access to all the communal land, trails, and lakes in the Park. Depending on the day of the week and time of year, the Community Centre offers events such as organized bingo, day school, church services, a horse shoe tournament, a Monte Carlo night, and a garage sale. If you wish to venture out of the Park there are a number of interesting shops, restaurants, and attractions that vary in distance from a 20 minute drive to an hour long drive. Dining - Open on the weekends, The Olde Ridge is a great place to eat although it can be very busy. Entertainment - The Village Playhouse - Bancroft Highlands Cinema - Kinmount: this is a really cool theater built in the woods attached to a house. They show the newest movies and house a museum of movie memorabilia. It is well worth the drive to check this one out. Adventures South Algonquin Trails - go horseback riding on the trails at the southern end of Algonquin Park. Located on Elephant Lake Road (15-20 min drive) The area is known as the Geocaching Capital of Canada. So bring along your GPS and go out on the hunt. There are no caches in Harcourt Park as it is private property but there are many that are not too far away, including one of ours ;)
  • Darryl's cottage is exactly what you want if you're looking for a true Canadian getaway. Set amongst the trees and overlooking a lake, it's the perfect destination to unwind and explore what the surrounding area has to offer. We spent our days walking in Algonquian Park and our nights cozied up in front of the indoor fireplace. The cottage is equipped with all the necessities to make you feel at home. If you bring your own groceries, you have everything you need to cook and enjoy your meal. If you're not prepared to be chef, there is a lovely diner close by ( Algonquian Diner) that will serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed the board games and Nintendo that was made available to us. Darryl was a wonderful host. He was friendly, quick with replies and clear with his communication. The overall experience was one that has left us looking forward to our next visit.

    Skipper2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Darryl was an amazing host. He was quick at responding to any queries I had. We loved his cottage! It was homey and everything we needed was right there. My sister especially got a kick out of the 90’s stuff he has in the cottage, i.e. the original Nintendo, the vhs player, vhs tapes and my 9 year old loved all the Disney movies on vhs too:) He has kayaks and pedal boats. Bored you will not! The view was beautiful! The lake gorgeous and serene! It was just an overall fantastic trip! Thank you Darryl!

    Rachelle2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Darryl's cottage was a dream! It was exactly what we were looking for, a beautiful homey cottage with amazing views and cottage feels. The wood stove inside was a perfect bonus for when it got a little chilly at night and the fire pit with lake views, was even better. Waking up to coffees on the docks was another nice bonus. We couldn't have asked for a better getaway and we look forward to hopefully staying here again! Thanks Darryl!

    Kim2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the fall and the leaves and view were totally breathtaking! Spent our time in front of the fire reading in their comfy chairs. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and in general, (including kayaks!) to have a great stay. Right by Algonquin Park, too! We hiked the High Falls trail, which was stunning.

    Anna2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Beautiful location with an easy check in. Lots of information about the cottage and area provided. Darryl was very responsive and a great host.

  • When I booked I did not expected that fun so I made plan to go algonquin park but when I went to the place I loved it soo much that I spent my two days only at cottage and Darryl is really nice host with quick response. He took each and every point of facility even he provided Signal Booster as there was no network at that Place.. Amazing 10 on 10 everthing. Will plan next time to the place again

    Siya2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place. Very beautiful and clean. Great view and super cozy cottage. Will definitely come again.

    Elena2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Darryl's place for four days in July and had a wonderful time. He provided us with everything we needed to have a memorable stay and a complete cottage experience. Thank you for your thoughtfulness regarding the water jugs and propane tank. Our family had fun exploring the lake with the kayaks and paddle boats - and counting all the black bears among the property. We definitely recommend Darryl's cottage to everyone.

This Aframe is a 20ft structure with very high ceilings and a loft area. It’s intention is to give you an opportunity to stay in a cross between glamping and tiny home living. The inside is lined with beautiful smelling cedar and reclaimed barn board. It features a full size propane fireplace which makes it ideal for winter vacations. The front deck has a propane bbq for cooking and a fire pit area for nighttime outdoor fires. Please note there is no kitchen for cooking. The washrooms are a short 2min walk down the trail and are private key entry washrooms that only you the guest have access to. Those washrooms are attached to the main office which you can also access the wifi. The cabin itself does not have internet access or cellphone reception. Guests also have waterfront access with a private dock and canoe on Little Mcgarry lake (canoe is seasonal, in the winter we provide snow shoes) also a short 2 min walk down the trail to the lake.
Our property is 28 acres and is surrounded by thousands of acres of crownland. We are a 35 min drive from The East age of Algonquin Park and a 7 min drive from South Algonquin. We are a prime location for anyone looking to Atv, snowmobile, snowshoe, hike or cross country ski. Our land spreads out across 1600ft of waterfront on a small private lake and guests do have access to the lake, despite the cabin not actually being on the water. The little town of Maynooth is 7km away and features a fantastic little breaskfast restaurant, a gas station, a pub and tons of little art galleries and antique shops and 20km away is the town of Bancroft where you will find your larger box grocery stores and traditional shopping.
  • Place was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet and remote. Josh was a great help and quick to respond.

    Kacey2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had an amazing weekend getaway here thanks to Joshua!! It was a very private and romantic trip away from the city surrounded by the tranquility of nature. The place is absolutely beautiful and was equipped with everything we needed. Josh was very considerate and he was always a step ahead of us to attend to all of our needs. We will definitely come back again in the near future to visit the other cottages!! :)

    Rachel2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous location with beautiful trails and a private lake to explore. Fireplace keeps the cabin very cozy!

    Lydia2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was much cleaner than expected. The surrounding area had a lot of trails and Algonquin trail was a short drive away. Josh was quick to respond with any questions. Only thing was no WiFi in the main cabin and the washrooms/showers were a short walk away from the cabin but this didn't take away from the overall experience. The cabin itself was cozy and had all necessary amenities and more. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a unique experience.

    Felix2019-12-26T00:00:00Z

  • Tesha’s house was great. Very easy check- in, prompt reply from the host. Gorgeous view in the dock. Kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed. Overall we had a great stay.

  • The cottage is clean, has been updated and is decorated beautifully. I enjoyed having 3 different spots to lounge outside: the upper deck, the fire pit area, and the dock. Beautiful view of the sunset from the dock. Me and my husband enjoyed our relaxing stay. Would come back.

    Kristen2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tesha's cottage was beautiful and clean when we arrived, the view of the lake was amazing and we enjoyed kayaking and making campfires outside. The beds were comfy, heaters were working perfectly and there was a bunch of board games and movies perfect for big families.

    Partha2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best cottage that I rented on Baptiste Lake and I’ve been renting for 10 years.

    Frank2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Wistow! There was ample parking at the top of the hill and a cart to transport our things down to the cottage (thank you!). Check in was a breeze and Tesha was available to help us with the WiFi. We were very happy to have the WiFi amenity, as opposed to using all of our data. The cottage itself is perfect, the beds are very comfy! There is so much space inside and out, you can be with your group or relax on your own. We enjoyed the fire pit, bbq, deck, dock....we caught a beautiful 5lb bass right off the dock (which we threw back for the next guest to catch). The TV and cable was handy at night, to watch the news. Our golden retriever was also welcome and enjoyed playing with the neighbour's 2 labs. Neighbours were very friendly! Thank you so much and we can't wait to return next summer!

    Laura-Lee2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is lovely! The water is clear and great for swimming, and we spent most evenings relaxing on the beautiful dock. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed, and the host was very responsive and helpful.

They don't make'em like this anymore!! A 50's era cottage- chalet roof, wood sidings, pine ceilings and 15 ft from lake- on Fishtail lake. Over 12km of shoreline with only 10 cottages on whole lake. An unspoiled gem. Lake trout and bass in lake, clean water, sandy bottom.2 kayaks one canoe.
It should be noted that cottages built in 50s were not only close to lake they are small. Bedrooms are small. There is a fold-down staircase to one bedroom in loft. It is assumed you are outside a lot and out on lake. However, the cottage has everything you will need. Modern plumbing/fixtures in kitchen and bathroom. Newish (5yrs) fridge/stove. Bedrooms:. 1) Main floor bedroom has newer queen mattress. 2) Main floor sunroom (11 small windows face lake) has bunk beds. 3) Loft has queen bed. 4) Bunkhouse (available June, July, August only) has queen bed and couch. Interior loaded with antiques. Main cottage 800 sq ft building. Small bunkhouse 140sq ft. Bunkhouse only available June to August. The natural setting and lack of lake traffic make this unique. You won't see waterskiing/sea-doos. New windows, doors bathroom and electrical. Ideal for couple or small family.
Like Algonquin Park without the crowds. Fall colours are out of this world. Canoe/ kayak in paradise or go 10km to golf
  • If you are planning on taking a trip off and enjoying nature this is the perfect place. The house has magnificent views to the lake and the location is magical. Dan is the perfect host with a lot of recommendations on the area and places to visit! We had a wonderful time at Dan's place and we would definitely repeat the experience.

    Claudia2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at the cottage. We could use the kayaks and canoe to explore the beautiful lake. Dan even provided us with some information about Algonquin Park.

    Nele2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Dan's cottage is as described. Quiet and quaint. The history of his cottage was great to see and made staying there even more special. Looking forward to returning next year.

    Gary2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dan's place was exactly what we wanted ; quiet, great swimming lake, ability to go and kayak/ canoe around the lake and just have a week of family time. The cabin is traditional and so dont expect it to look like a hotel with immaculate finishings but it has all the comforts you could possibly need. We took the boys fishing everyday and they caught some small bass. Dan had some courgette and kale in the garden we could use and all the basics we needed. I would love to take the family there again, thank you Dan. Chloe & family

    Chloe2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you want in a traditional cottage - great swimming, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. The cottage itself has everything you need for a great, relaxing getaway. Thanks Dan!

    Ryan2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Second trip and as wonderful as our trip in June 2018. Will be back!

    Rose2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dan's cottage is spectacular; charming and cozy, and all the amenities you can think of are provided. The lake is spectacularly beautiful, perfect for the whole family to explore in the canoe and kayaks. The privacy of the lot and the views from the cottage and dock are unforgettable and beyond expectations. This place is an absolute gem. All communication with Dan was quick and clear; he was there to meet us at check in, which took about 5 minutes and we were all set for the week. There's a Foodland fully-stocked grocery store next to an LCBO 20 mins away in Wilberforce - very convenient. Our whole family loved this place and we will be returning!!

    Ryan2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful week at this gem of a cottage! Both Dan's description and that of other reviews are completely accurate. We spent most of our time on the deck, dock or in the water. Kayaked every day. Lots of places to sit inside and out. Even on warmer days the home is North facing so lots of breeze and shade spots. Many windows for breeze throughout. Indoors was a fully equipped kitchen, making meal prep just like being home. I will miss the million dollar view from the kitchen and dining areas. We enjoyed our time so much that we have rebooked in Sept

  • Such a great place to stay. Julie's place is clean and easy to find and check into. Also, the special touches are amazing. To have pancake mix and local maple syrup is worth the entire stay. In the winter the wood stove is the draw. I have stayed here many times, and will stay here many more times!

  • Amazing location for snowmobilers and lots of space in the driveway. We couldn't ask for better hosts! As our second stay here, we knew it would be wonderful again. The woodstove is always burning when we arrive and the cottage has everything we need for cooking, sleeping and exploring the area. We can't wait to return next year!

  • Fantastic couple! Above and beyond helpful!

    Don2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Roger were great hosts, from their quick replies to my questions before the trip to the extra little touches during our stay. We arrived to find a cozy, beautiful cottage with a warm fire already burning in the wood stove and a basket with pancake mix and a sample of their own maple syrup as a surprise welcome gift. Roger even checked in with us midway through our stay to ensure we still had enough wood for the indoor wood stove and outdoor fire pit. I would love to return in the fall to enjoy the fall colours and kayak the river.

    Char2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place is wonderful! You have your private space, wood stove, bird feeders, and room to roam and hike. The home is well appointed, comfortable, and clean. I love the t.v., internet, and unlimited wood. The walk to the river is always a draw. See you later, blue jays...

    Fran2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place, and incredible hosts - fantastic woodstove and everything anyone could need for a winter getaway! Lots of tips and thoughtful touches from the host, and the place has everything from wifi to Maple syrup :). Will be back again!

    Jp2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing extended weekend at York Riverscape Cottage. We were greeted with a fire in the wood burning fireplace. The pancake mix and homemade maple syrup was a nice touch. The property was quiet yet close enough to all amenities. The cottage was clean and cozy. We had comfy beds to sleep on. Julie and Roger were quick to respond to all of my questions. The self-serve check in was easy. We would definitely book here again!

    Ella2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a hidden gem outside of Bancroft! The space was amazing - open concept kitchen/living room with a great wood stove to keep it warm and cozy! The sunroom was lovely (even in the winter), the beds were cozy and the kitchen is well-stocked. We watched the snow fall on the river and had a nice campfire outside! We highly recommend this cottage and will definitely return in the future!

  • Lovely, well appointed cottage that has been recently renovated . Located in a beautiful area with a very nice waterfront. Brian has been a great host and a pleasure to speak with. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

  • Beautiful and Relaxing stay! Our first impression was wow! We visited as a couple with our two dogs. What a well appointed, clean and spacious cottage! You walk in to a corner kitchen with toaster, kettle, beautiful sink, and stainless steel appliances perfect for prepping any meal. The full bathroom is clean and quite new. The cottage has satellite tv and wifi Which is a great bonus at night or when it’s raining. The property is just serene. Peaceful fall colours frame the sandy beach view from the wrap around deck. Our dogs loved to run to the beach where we had the pleasure of spotting various wildlife such as a beaver, loon and ducks! We had a great stay and would book again in a heartbeat. We didn’t swim as it is fall, but enjoyed sitting on the beach to watch the sun sets. The cozy wood stove inside was perfect to heat the cottage, but bring slippers in the colder months! Thank you Brian for such a great stay, what started as a birthday get away for my boyfriend, turned in to an engagement by the time we left! We will cherish our memories at Porto Betty :)

Our cottage is completely off grid. It's comforts are delivered through a wood burning fireplace, propane, solar power and rain water collection. We provide you with a good flashlight and a couple of battery powered lanterns for your convenience. Kitchen is fully stocked with standard cooking utensils. Wifi is not available at the Off-grid but the Office has wifi on the deck and there is also an outlet for you to use. The cottage over looks a pristine semi private lake that is home to a wide range of wildlife. Down by the water, we have a cleared picnic area with a walk-out dock that is perfect to take in the sounds of the water. Should you want to swim, there is a large floating raft set up in the deepest part of the lake a short distance off the shore. We have provided you with a paddle boat that you may use throughout your stay. IMPORTANT: be advised that the walk to and from the lake to the cottage is a steep hill. Behind the cottage we have a fire pit surrounded by cedar chips (they smell delightful) set up with Muskoka chairs and a picnic table to enjoy. Should you not be a bath person, beside the cottage, we have an outdoor shower with granite floors. Should you want to kennel your dog during your stay, please inquire about facility and rates.
We are minutes from the charming Town of Maynooth. Here you can have a lovely lunch, find some great antiques and take a gander through local galleries. This is such a great little town with so much ambition to thrive. Should you want to travel a bit, you have the choice of either going north to Barry's Bay or south to Bancroft. Both are approx. 20 minutes away.
  • This off the grid cabin has become a favourite for my husband and I. We returned for a second visit, and this trip up was even better than our first. Josh is a fantastic communicator, helpful with tips about the property and the area, and this year we took a beautiful hike throughout the property...which was absolutely breathtaking.

    Alicia2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage had beautiful views and was very private. It was exactly as described and we won’t hesitate to come back. We loved the quiet seclusion it offered and we were missing the wood stove when we came back to our own place lol. Thanks again, Josh! We had a great time!

    Mary2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet place. Nice trip!

  • The location was superb! Quiet, private , and picturesque trails!

    Dorothy2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice off grid cottage, Josh was very helpful when we needed something. Very quite and remote, the wood burning fire place is a nice touch and gives off a nice heat for the fall weather.

    Ceci & Mich2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a wonderful, secluded and tranquil haven. We loved being off grid and not having any phone signal was a blessing, it gave us all the opportunity to truly disconnect. Propane lanterns, a fridge and fireplace were all that we needed. The board games were a nice touch and we stayed up late into the night with wine and trivial pursuit. A special mention for what Josh has done with the lake, a fun row to the middle to a fun little pontoon. Complete with water trampoline and a pink flamingo, we had a blast.

    Jemma2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really great stay. Kids (7 and 11) loved it. Relaxing for the last two days of a two week holiday. We were planning to go further into Algonquin Park for a day but ended up making full use of the lake. Really good communication from Josh throughout.

    Nicholas2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time off the grid at their cottage. Joshua was very nice and amenable. Loved the disconnect from the outside world. 38 minutes drive from the East Gate of Algonquin was very handy. Loads of stars in the sky.

As mentioned on Airbnb, this house is located on the bank of Allan Lake in Algonquin park. Peaceful and beautiful. Highly recommended.

  • Snowmobiler friendly, great location

    Renay2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is exactly as the pictures show, on a beautiful piece of property. The cottage was very well equipped with all necessities for cooking, making coffee, etc. Instructions for turning on heat, water pumps, and using the wood stove were clear and easy to follow. We were there in January for a snowmobiling trip and the power went out due to a large snow storm taking down some lines. Chris had emergency candles, lighters, and even large jugs of water for just such a situation so he's certainly prepared. We had an absolutely great time. A note for any snowmobilers out there - when you see the 181a and the 180 trail are right there on Baptiste lake....you will not be able to just ride out the back yard onto the lake, there is a large drop off. We went down the side of the road to where Clarke rd. meets South Baptiste road and there is a local trail in the woods to the left that winds its way down to the lake and a good launching spot to get to the trail.

    Jarrod2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's place is beautiful and comfortable, all the ameneties you need. Situated in a georgous stretch of lake and forrest. Chris made sure the entire place was set up and had all the things we needed. Furthermore, Chris went above and beyond when we got our car stuck in a ditch on one of our outings. He was quickly responsive and organzied a neighbour/friend to bring their truck to pull us out. We all had ana amazing time and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

    Ellie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous cottage in beautiful location. It's a very cozy, well-stocked home with amazing views and a brilliant wood stove. Can't wait to try it in the summer! Thanks, Chris!

  • We had an amazing stay at the cabin- it is so beautiful by the lake, and the space is gorgeous! It's also an easy drive to Algonquin Park to go hiking. Chris is very quick to answer questions and keep you updated, and check in/out was very easy. Thank you, we absolutely loved our stay!

  • Our stay here was absolutely amazing! I visited this cottage with my boyfriend and 2 other couples and we had a fantastic time. The location was perfect and the views from the dock were outstanding. The cottage was homey and had everything you needed. Dealing with Christina was wonderful, she always responded quickly and gave us tons of tips about the area before our arrival. Once we arrived she made sure we had everything we needed. This cottage was a perfect escape from the city

    Jasmine2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time at Christina’s cottage. It was as expected from the photos and was very clean. The lake was fairly quiet and perfectly warm. There was a floating dock to jump from, the dock had a ladder at the end (the water was maybe 6’ deep there), and there was also an area to enter from the shore. We also were able to use her kayaks which was a bonus! Christina did provide cleaning so we didn’t have to spend time doing that which was super. Finally, Christina even offered to send me my bathing suit I left behind. So nice! Hopefully Christina continues to offer this place because we would love to return.

  • we enjoyed our stay at Joseph’s lovely cottage very much. the cottage is very clean and cozy. it rained for two nights and we loved hearing the rain on the amazingly high ceilings whilst having a nice warm fire inside. the lake is beautiful we managed to canoe the entire lake over our long weekend stay with our wee dogs which is our favourite part of cottaging. thank you for sharing your home and canoe with our little family. we loved every moment!!

  • We spent a week here with our two young kids and loved the cozy and comfortable cottage feel. It’s nestled amongst the trees and has a stunning lake view from the lower deck. Of note, it’s east facing so no afternoon sun, which was the only draw back as we were a group of keen swimmers and it gets dark by the dock after 1pm. Joseph was available at a moments notice and provided a useful manual so both expectations and amenities are clearly detailed. I’d love to go back without kids as very quiet and peaceful location.

  • We had a great time at Joseph's cottage! It was perfect for our family of 4. We loved the lake and the private location. Joseph replied to our questions very quickly. Would love to visit again.

  • Joseph's cottage was a great getaway from home. Very private and cozy cottage. The lower deck was amazing! I would recommend this cottage and would probably stay there again. However some basic amenities could be provided. Not a lot of basic stuff is provided so you need to be fully prepared before you go but it was overall a very good and relaxing stay. Joseph was very accommodating with check in/check out and the communication was great throughout our stay!

  • Great place, great host. Would go back again

  • Susan was very helpful and answered quickly. We spent five nights in the Green Cabine and really enjoyed the tranquility, the fantastic views and the cozy and very well equipped cabin. By car, the main entrance of Algonquin Provincial Park is about 80 minutes away - great for a day trip. We can 100% recommend this accommodation and will gladly come back.

  • Very cozy cottage at a peaceful lake. Absolutely beautiful in autumn!

    Nils2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house has a beautiful location, directly on the lake, surrounded by forest. It is very quiet, you can really switch off and relax. The Algonquin National Park takes about 1.5 hours, but the trip pays off in any case! The house itself is very nice and well equipped (especially the kitchen has everything you need). We felt very comfortable and would like to come back!

It’s quiet, peaceful and private surrounded by beautiful trees and right next to a lake for swimming. We had a couple of issues arise during our stay but Marilyn’s response was very quick and helpful resolving the problems and leaving us feeling well looked after. Also, the cottage was recently built and the owners put a lot of nice touches on the inside.

  • We had an amazing time at this cottage. Considering we were in the season when snow melts, we were ok going without snow tires, but it was tough at times! If you go during the winter, it is a must as the last 5km of your trip will be impossible! Aside from that, cleanest cottage I have ever had. So quiet, right on the lake. Finally, Deanna was always communicating and responding rather fast. Overall, a great experience I recommend to everyone!

    Maria2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our family spent the Family Day weekend at Deanna's lovely cottage. The location is excellent, very private and surrounded by trees. The lake view is outstanding! A small lake, with very few cottages, and none on the opposite side of the lake to interrupt the beautiful view. The cottage is cozy and warm, with a lovely wood burning fireplace. The bedrooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. There's a large open living room with comfy furniture. Lots of classic board games for the whole family, and even snowshoes and toboggans were provided! A nice screened in gazebo with a great BBQ for cooking. Our host was very friendly and thoughtful - she even had a fire going in the fireplace for us upon our arrival. Would highly recommend this excellent cottage for a winter stay!

    Heather2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a great weekend at Deannas Cottage! Went for a snowmobile weekend with friends and family and it was an excellent location very close to the main E trail. Everyone had a lovely time and we enjoyed doing puzzles by the warm fire.

Camping in Algonquin Park is expensive! And who wants neighbouring tents? Come stay on a working farm in the quiet town of Maynooth, just 30 minutes from the East Gate of the Park and the town of Bancroft. This campsite is nestled in a bit of forest, on a clearing that's a layer of moss on rocks. It does get a bit of morning light. This site is located right close to the outhouse, and 100' from the field kitchen. For a more secluded site, see our other listing.
This third-generation farm with hundred year-old house is a passion project in ecology, food security, and preserving traditional skills. Pigs, goats, bees, ducks, and chickens work in a cycle of inputs: digging, clearing brush, and fertilizing future farmland in this rocky place, so that we can grow awesome organic veggies. We have 35 acres, and two nice clearings in the forest. This site is 400' from the farmhouse, and quite private. This campsite is large enough for a 10-man tent or two smaller tents. The clearing is a base of pine needles and birch leaves, and nice and soft, and overhead tree canopy keeps the rain and morning sunshine diffused. There's a short cut-through the bush to a rocky pile equipped with a fire pit. We stock some firewood, starting materials, and water to extinguish, but we encourage you to use deadwood and help us clean up the forest surrounding! Trailers, campers, and other vehicles are welcome as long as the ground is not spring-soggy. You can park fairly close to the campsite. There is an outhouse and field kitchen with a propane stovetop, small propane grill, and wash-sink (rain barrel-fed.) The kitchen is screened-in against bugs, with a small table, and a couple chairs. It's rustic, but serviceable! The field kitchen is equipped with some basic amenities and tools like pots and pans, soap, oil, spices, and dishware for 4. A french press for your coffee, tea towels, a bluetooth speaker, and candles. It has solar lights to help you cook in the dark. You shouldn't need to bring any cooking equipment, unless there's something special your camp meals require. Fresh eggs are available, and u-pick veggies and herbs. We may have meat for sale. Laundry and a shower are available with permission. You're also welcome to tour the farm and interact with the animals: pigs, goats, chickens, and ducks. In fact, you may have some for neighbours!
Maynooth is home to antique stores, 2 breakfast spots, and a pub open Friday and Saturday nights with live music. There's a liquor store, gas bar, ATM, and general store with necessities. Please be warned that the town on Maynooth is your last stop for amenities, and shuts down at 6 p.m. daily. Be sure to bring enough fuel! (and beer) We can direct you to fishing, swimming, and hiking spots, plus three close-by provincial parks. The town of Bancroft, with more amenities, galleries, and really good coffee is 20 minutes south. Here you can rent canoes and kayaks. There is a more complete list of things to do and see in our welcome book.
  • Such a wonderful stay - loved the kitchen - really helped reduce how much we needed to bring - we even enjoyed morning pancakes. We were a group of three - two were fromthe USA - raved about the property. We enjoyed the spacious and clean camping site itself and hospitality. Alex was very friendly and helpful - enjoyed the recommendations for hiking trails not too far from her home. Would love to stay again in the future. Next time, we'll drive up to Algonquin :)

    Megha2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tom and Alex’s place! They made sure everything is set up for our stay and helped us settle in. The outdoor kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed our dinner with farm fresh products produced by them. The actual camp site is surrounded by trees so it blocks the wind, and has a nice setup of a fire pit. You’ll get to see animals in the farm, and a charming cafe is just a few minutes away for your morning caffeine fix. We 100% recommended this place for anyone!!

    Tomoko2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place for a quick getaway from the city. The farm is pretty busy with pigs, goats, ducks, chickens and some local produce. The campground is sunny and easy to access. Highly recommend staying here.

  • My husband and I had and absolutely amazing time at Tom and Alexs farm. The camp site was beautiful and secluded, the field kitchen was rustic and super cute. We had an amazing first time in Canada.

  • Tracey's place is lovely. She's a very responsive and friendly host. The cottage is on a beautiful, clean lake (great for swimming!) surrounded by lots of nature and woods. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed to make full meals. Definitely would visit again!

    Zeid2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tracey's cottage was perfect for a three-girls' long weekend - it was exactly what we wanted. Rustic, comfortable, charming and cozy. The surroundings were quiet - no loud motor boats and neighbours waved when passing by. The wood stove came in handy on the cooler nights and the swimming was top-notch. We played lots of cards, listened to music and ate decadent BBQ. Check-in was easy-peasy and the cottage was stocked with amenities. Tracey was on-hand to answer any questions, though we didn't have any 'cause everything was clear. All in all a five star experience! Thanks!

    Emily2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and we absolutely loved it. We decided to take a mother daughter weekend away trip, and fit our needs perfectly. We loved the quick access to the lake (which is super clean and fun to swim in) and the floor to ceiling window looking out to the water. This place was exactly as described, very clean and even had a slow cooker to cook our chili in! As mentioned in other comments, the immediate drive into the cottage is very steep, but once you get used to driving up and down the hill it's no problem. Would definitely recommend if you want a fun summer cottage experience! Thanks Tracey!! :)

    Denis2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The lake was great for swimming, kayaking and canoeing. The cottage has a nice view of the lake and the sunsets are amazing. Bbq was great, beds and sofas were comfy. We never met Tracey but she was very quick to respond to my messages and left clear instructions in the cottage.

    Tim2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. This cottage is the perfect size for 2 people. 4 is doable but I think it would feel a little cramped. The cottage was very comfortable. Really comfy bed. Tracey provides lots of amenities which makes things easy (toilet paper, paper towel, spices, olive oil, water, etc). Great spot for swimming and hanging on the dock. The DVD player came in handy for when it rained. Would definitely stay here again.

    Rebecca2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is absolutely beautiful. A perfect getaway for those who wish to get out of the city and experience some beautiful nature. Ideal for 4 people, maybe 5-6 if you're all okay to be in close proximity with each other. The water and dock were perfect for lounging and cooling off in the summer sun. Be warned, you are in the woods so you have a high chance of getting slightly eaten by bugs. However Tracey provides bug spray and bug screen hoods for those very rough times. Not only does Tracey provide these, but she provides anything you may have forgotten with her fully stocked closets; water jugs, paper towel, firewood etc. The water was gorgeous, however the incline to the water is quite steep and mostly compact dirt with some loose areas and a few stone steps. If you have mobility concerns just be aware that is the path to the waterfront. The road into the cottage is relatively short but is a dirt road, single lane and quite hilly so also be warned that 4 wheel drive may be needed and great care while driving it is very needed. The stove top was usable, however the oven was not. Using the BBQ was the ideal route for cooking as it can get quite warm in the cottage and summer BBQ-ing is always fun at a cottage. There is not shower or tub, but the bathroom is very nice regardless, with hot and cold water easily accessible. The inside space of the cottage was perfect for us 4 and was incredibly nice for being described as "rustic". If you want a beautiful cottage experience this is the place to go.

  • My family had a great stay at Tracey's cottage. She was able to accommodate us for just a couple of nights mid week (which is what we were hoping for and not always possible in the summer). The cottage is right on the lake and has very nice water for swimming. The fans in the cottage were very helpful as it was quite warm while we were there. I loved that there were books available to read and I hadn't thought to bring my own! I would definitely recommend her place to anyone looking to get away and unwind.

  • It was an outstanding off the grid experience for us. The cottage sits right on the lake with crystal clear water, the view from the screened porch was breathtaking, especially in the early morning. Ronny the host responded our enquiries very quickly, he's extremely helpful. Overall I will rate 9.5 out of 10, the only thing to complain is the dull axe for the fire log, lol.

  • Ron has been very kind to us. The house is quiet and beautiful. We immediately gave up the Algonquin park plan and just stay around the house for 2 days when we arrive. And we had so much fun when making fire. We will definitely come back.

  • At first we had a bit of trouble finding the cottage but we did arrive really late at night. The cottage was very comfortable and homey. My friends and I had an amazing time with an amazing view. Only downside was we wished we were told that the wi-fi was down so we could be more prepared for the weekend. Ronny did tell us he tried to get it up and running for us but wasn't possible to do it in time for the long weekend. Ronny was great and was always very quick with his replies. Definitely a nice getaway for a weekend. Highly recommended!

  • We loved staying here! The area was quiet and very peaceful. The cottage was clean and cozy. Unfortunately there was a power outage in the area for a while(caused by a huge storm) but having the fire places, pits and BBQ made it feel more like glamping! It also helped that we came prepared with lots of blankets, candles and flashlights. Ronny was quick to respond and was very helpful with his messages. A must while here...Watching the sunrise and sunset. It was the highlight of the trip. Truly breathtaking. Thanks again Ron!
