  • Sherri’s place was very nicely redone! Quiet neighborhood on a small lake. Comfortable little house with beautiful views. Enjoyed sitting around fire pit and enjoying the stars in the evening. Would definitely stay there again if going on a weekend getaway with friends again. Great communication with the owner. She was very quick to get back with us every time we messaged her. Really enjoyed our stay!

2400 sq. feet, just outside the village of Lake Ann and about 20 minutes from Traverse City. For the hunters there are numerous state land locations for hunting nearby. This property is also great for retreats, ladies getaways, or coming together as a family. There are several resorts within a short drive, including Crystal Mountain, a premier ski resort and spa. Traverse City is close by for shopping or a night on the town. So much to see and do in Northern Michigan in the Fall and Winter!
This location is great for groups and families as there are two places for "living". It is nice for families with children as they can have one area, and the adults another. There are 12 beds, but it can sleep 17 comfortably. There are two televisions with a Roku player so you can stream your own content and we have also included some cards, games and books for you for the quiet evenings or the inclimate weather. There is a yard with a play set, fire pit and lots of room for running around. You can probably play a game of football, or horse shoes or cone hole too :) A trail goes alongside the property and is good for walking, or bring your ATVs and use them on the trail. House-trained pets are welcome, and there is a dog door with a fenced in area behind the home. There is also a larger fenced in area available with a six foot fence. There is enough space for the whole crew!
The house is located just outside the village of Lake Ann which boasts a very popular brewery that has live music outdoors (during the warmer weather season) and indoors, a restaurant, ice cream shop, general store, post office, coffee shop, park, library and a public beach. There are various festivals and activities planned in the village throughout the year. For events, there is a townhall to rent right inside the village. At one time the motto of Lake Ann was, "Small, but Friendly" and it still holds true!
  • We loved the quiet peacefulness of the neighborhood. It was so nice to sit outside at a campfire and look at the abundance of stars. The country setting makes the sky beautiful. The house was awesome with two living/family rooms the kids could play and watch TV and the adults could talk and watch something else. The rooms were spacious and the kitchen and dining room were perfect for family times. The best part was the huge tub and that there were three bathrooms. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks for the amazing time.

  • Katie provided a great home! The small attention to detail (providing an assortment of kitchen supplies was very helpful, and we enjoyed the books and games, access to Roku, and local information and coupons. The layout was very open and spacious for our group of 14 and the two living areas provided a place for kids to play or our group to split for different tv preferences! The home was pet friendly, which is a plus for pet owners (doggie doors and a fenced in yard area) but did come with a pet smell in one area of the house. We loved the location! With downtown Lake Ann about a mile from the home we made a morning walk to the coffee shop and walked down for live music and dinner one evening. It is also just a short 15 minute drive to the Bay and downtown Traverse City. Overall we were very pleased and would definitely love to stay here again!

    Ashley2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Katie was super sweet. She left food for us and there was laundry supplies. So grateful for that! My brother called it the cult house (because there were so many beds!) but it meant we could all sleep wherever we wanted and not be in each other's space. Thank you!

    Alexis2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great place for Your large or extended family to stay at. The hospitality and small little touches around the house will add to the charm. A MUST SEE go into the town of Lake Ann and shop at the local grocery store (if you areolder, explore all the little alcoves and relive some of your past!!). Also Stone Oven pizzeria is a must (but orderearly, wait times easily exceed 60 to 75 mins, but we'll worth it)

    Randolph2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • 100% highly recommend Katie's house! Our Company was doing a deck build in the area and we needed 4 separate beds in the TC area at a reasonable rate for the week. Katie's home MORE than accommodated us-perfect for our needs and hoping to rent here again! Great communication, price range, location-everything worked for us! Thanks again

    Dawn2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! It was clean and spacious and I loved that it was pet friendly and even had a fenced in area with a dog door...how cool is that??? It is in a perfect location to visit many different lakes and beaches, the Dunes, Lake Michigan beaches and of course Traverse City. We will definitely be back!

    Debra2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin was exactly as described. A very comfortable stay and located perfectly between Sleepy Bear Sand Dunes and Traverse City. It's also very close to Moomers, one of the most delicious ice cream I've ever tried. Katie was a great host and made sure we were comfortable with our stay. She also thought of everything when it came down to providing essentials that we needed.

    Rafat2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Home was plenty large enough for our group of 10. Traverse City is an easy 20-25 minute drive which we really liked. Nice and quiet area.

Lower level of home with 2 bedrooms, bath and family room with complete kitchenette. Slider opens to patio, hammock and fire pit. Walking trail down to lake. Dock for fishing and 2 kayaks and paddleboat available for use on no-wake lake.
Cozy, casual, eclectic home with direct lake access.
I love living here as it is quiet and on a no-wake lake (only trolling motors, sailboats, paddleboats, and kayaks).
  • A great place to stay. Jane's cat Pumpkin was fun to play with. Make sure to take the kayaks out onto Lake Ann! Thank you Jane

    Timothy2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jane's place! It was clean, cozy, and in a remote, scenic area. We especially appreciated the private deck, fire pit, and easy access to the lake. And Jane was a wonderful host! She was accommodating with an adjusted check-in time, had supplied us with wood for a fire, and made herself available for whatever we needed.

    Emily2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place is absolutely lovely! I stayed here on a bit of a working vacation and it was nice to have a home away from home that was so cozy. My work was mostly in Traverse City but I enjoyed the drive through some beautiful early fall nature to get back and forth to town. Everything at Jane's place is spotless and well thought out, right down to the super soft towels and comfortable beds. Added bonus for animal lovers, Jane's cat Pumpkin is the greatest! If you're not a pet person, you don't need to hang out with him, but I really enjoyed having a cat friend to spend my time with when I was "home". I had a great time here and would definitely stay again in the future!

    Sarah2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay! Very clean accommodations, had all the amenities you might need. The house sits up on the hill, directly on the water with a dock. Jane was a lovely host. Will definitely return!

    Kerri2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had a carey pleasant stay at Jane's. The location is beautiful: right next to the lake, very quiet, plenty of space around. The suite is brand new and nicely furnished. All necessities are covered. Great place for a family vacation, or weekend retreat.

    Oxana2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jane was the sweetest. We requested to book about an hour before check-in since we just got off the Manistee River Trail. She confirmed right away and was so accommodating! Her place is beautiful. It's about twenty five minutes to Traverse City, so we went out and had dinner and drinks out there and kayaked in the morning. We truly felt at home, not to mention her cat, Pumpkin, is THE BEST. Her bottom apartment is the perfect getaway or place to stop when passing through. Definitely will be back!

    Rita2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best weekend that my girlfriend and I have ever had, thus far. Not only were we able to experience an amazing area, but Jane provided the most amazing hospitality and welcomed us with open arms. She provided everything that we needed, on top of things that we never would have thought of! (Dishes, newspaper for building a fire, pots and cooking supplies, towels, etc.) We did not go a second needing anything extra that she hadn't provided. Her land and home are absolutely beautiful, not to mention that it is steps from the lake front and dock. Since the lake is on the smaller side, you are able to boat and kayak at your own leisure and at any time. We frequently went down there in the morning, and then would end up around the fire pit come evening. Again, Jane was very inviting with allowing us to use her great fire pit, backyard and any other amenity that she has. She also made sure we were replenished with supplies for building a fire, etc. The house and road itself are private, so it really feels like you are on your own retreat. However, it is also a 25 min drive into Traverse City, so it isn't as if you are completely off the map. It is also down the road from a beautiful farm with horseback riding (Outrider), which we really enjoyed. If you want to see the most beautiful sites in Michigan go check out Pyramid Point. Trust me, this is a MUST do. It's about 20 or so minutes from Janes lake house. We really enjoyed utilizing the fire pit with s'mores and wine on the side. (We even made one for Jane) (I think she liked it) Jane was very courteous and you could barely even tell that she was there...except for the occasional phone ding, that let us know she was a hip socialite. (We honestly found it to be absolutely adorable) Overall this was an incredible experience and one we will never forget.

    Jared2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place was great and she was a lovely host. My boyfriend and I stayed just one evening but really enjoyed our time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful lake and overall serene nature. There is a small kitchen where we were able to cook some dinner after taking the kayaks out. It was clean and well-kept and Jane was very friendly and informative upon check-in. Her cat, Pumpkin, was extremely friendly and adorable. I wanted to take him home with me.

A great place to stay and just relax. Owners are super hosts. Place is newly renovated and very cozy. We plan to recommend this place to family and friends.

My home is situated in a small neighborhood that is 2 miles from the village of Lake Ann. The room can sleep 2 people and has a closet and dresser for your use. The bathroom, kitchen, and living area are shared spaces. I have a gentle, elderly dog. A 5 min walk takes you to the private beach of Sanford Lake, a small sandy bottom, no wake lake with accessibility to drop in your canoe or kayak. Another 5 min walk takes you to state land access via a 2 track trial.
This home is small and simple. I love it mostly for its location- 20 min west takes you to Lake Michigan, 20 min east takes you to Traverse City. Less than 1 mile is Lake Ann campground and 6 miles worth of trail, with boat launch for Lake Ann. The village of Lake Ann has a coffee shop, brewery (its good!), general store, and a couple of pizza shops. There are two parks in the village with one of them being on the lake.

    Linda2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at this very nicely appointed and very welcoming inn. John was very welcoming and accommodating but not intrusive. He had suggestions for the area and made sure all the right touches were added to our stay to make it a very memorable and enjoyable stay. Very nice place and people. We will definately be back and recommend to others.

  • Tricia and John's home is a great base for a stay to explore Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes and the surrounding areas just a 20-30 minute drive away. We loved the Lake Ann Brewery just across the street and the Stone Oven for dinner. Hope to come back!!

    Megan2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location as only a short drive to Glen Arbor and Lake Michigan and all the running , biking , hiking and kayaking the ❤️ Desires. Enjoyed breakfast at Red Door in Lake Ann and also a fantastic church across the block

    Lisa2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location in a quiet village with its own beautiful lake between Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City. We stayed in the Lighthouse Suite which had a good-sized bathroom and bedroom that was nicely decorated, comfortable, and very clean. In the bedroom, there is a large, comfy robe that you can use. The keyless entry is an added bonus. There is a refrigerator you can use that the host constantly replenishes with bottled water for guests to consume. The common areas of the house were roomy, comfortable, and inviting. There is a large wraparound porch with tasteful tables and chairs where we hung out and drank a bottle of wine in the evening. Delicious breakfast was provided for us each morning at the nearby Red Door Coffee House. The host (John) was very friendly, knowledgeable, and on-point with things. I'd highly recommend the Shilliday House. We found it to be much better than staying at a hotel or someone's condo!

  • My girlfriend and I spent two days on our way back from pictured rocks. We decided to stay in between traverse city and the bear dunes and this is a perfect halfway point. John was so incredibly nice. The home is gorgeous and roomy. John went in town to get bakery items for breakfast and truly exceeded my expectations. I have been to many B&Bs in Stratford Ontario and throughout Michigan and John did everything right. We will definitely be back again and could not be more excited.

    Brett2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Of all the AirBnBs we've stayed at, this is our favorite by far. The house is newly renovated, and everything was extremely clean and nice, from the comfortable bed to the fluffy towels. There is a nice dining area, front porch, and garden as well. Tricia and John were very friendly and accommodating, and were helpful with suggestions of local activities. We actually stayed in Jeremiah's Room for this visit, but Anna's Room was quite nice as well. The location of Lake Ann was perfect for a weekend trip to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. There is a brewery with frequent live music across the street from the house, and an intimate beach within walking distance. This bed & breakfast was a great experience and we will happily stay here again if we return to the area.

  • The location of John's & Tricia's place was perfect!! 23 mins from Sleeping Bear Dune & 25 mins from Traverse city so I was able to explore both. 1 min from the place, there is a park too where you get to see Lake Ann,which was great to have your breakfast with a beautiful view. John's place was so clean & well maintained. John was so nice & very welcoming!! I had a great time & I highly recommend his place to anyone. Thank you John!!

  • We really enjoyed our getaway at Shilladay House in Lake Ann. The room and the house were nice and clean, the town was a little gem, and the location was perfect for Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We paid about half what the cheapest hotel cost, and it was probably twice as nice.

  • What a great find! This inn in the little town of Lake Ann is terrific. It is brand new and John and Tricia have done a great job of setting it up. Everything is fresh, clean and convenient. I enjoyed my conversations with John, who is a wonderful host. I stayed in Jeremiah's Room, which was very comfortable. It has a shared bath right outside the door and a robe and slippers in the closet. Lake Ann is close to Traverse City, Interlochen National Music Camp and the Sleeping Bear Natio Lakeshore. But, it has a brewery, coffee shop, restaurant, and an amazing general store. A great place to relax!

Comfortable private bdrm. Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes are only a 30 minute drive. Fits 2 people/shared full bath. Take a short walk from the backyard to Lake Ann & Platte River. Kayak, fishing gear, pool & ping pong table are available.
My home is in the heart of all the area has to offer. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Interlochen Center for the Arts and Traverse City are all less then 20 minutes away.
My house is located on a dead end street with Lake Ann Pathways right out my backyard. The Platte River and Lake Ann are both a short walk from my house. It's a very peaceful and private location. Nature is everywhere here. Dragonflies, loons, owls, woodpeckers and more are all around. If the weather is bad, I have things to do inside like ping pong, pool table and games in the basement. I also have various art supplies like mosaics, paper crafting and other things. I would ask that what you make goes into the BnB room for others to enjoy! If you're an outdoors person, the area has a lot to offer with Lake Ann right down the road. Or take the trail in the woods for a beautiful hike. There's also a trail to the river and takes a few minutes. I currently have one kayak which you are welcome to use. A short walk to the river and you can launch the kayak, taking you down to Lake Ann.
  • This was a great first experience with Airbnb, Kim was a great host. The house was very clean and smelled good, the bed was comfortable, and Kim was very pleasant. She even had muffins and coffee to offer us in the morning! The neighborhood is very quiet, and just like the listing says, a Nature Lovers Paradise.

  • Kim and Grady were very welcoming and opened their home to us. We enjoyed haring thought and experiences with Kim.

  • Kim was a great host. Friendly and communicated well. The location was great. 20 Min from TC and seconds away from Lake Ann through the trees. My Son and I enjoyed a game of ping pong, swam in the lake, and got plenty of peaceful sleep while we were there. I will be staying at Kim's again this time next year if all goes well.

    jason2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kims and my schedules never quite coincided so although our paths didn't cross during my short stay we kept in touch by text and email. Her home is quaint, clean and inviting. In a secluded area that's beautiful and peaceful. Would definitely stay here again.

  • My wife and I stayed here for two days to sight-see in Traverse City and we loved our stay! Kim is very friendly and her place is so nice and quiet, in the middle of the woods. It was a fun drive into the city every day because the area is so pretty and a big bonus: this location is only about 10 minutes from Moomer's Ice Cream (once voted best ice cream in America by Good Morning America). Lake Ann is a nice, quaint town. We ate there once night and the food was great, rivaling the food in Traverse City even. We didn't get a chance to go out on the lake with the kayak she offers with our busy schedule we set for ourselves, but we did see it available. The bed is very comfortable and the room is perfect for our needs. She provides a window fan that keeps the room temperature perfect and even shared blueberries from her garden with us! We have no complaints, thanks Kim!

    Wade2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The room was as advertised - very comfy bed and clean bathroom. Kim had a number of maps and guidebooks in the room, which we appreciated! GPS guided us to her place without issue, but the roads are very dark at night so we recommend traveling back while it is light out!

    Anastasia2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Kim's place. She greeted us and showed the room. We preferred to relax on our own so there was not a lot of interaction but Kim seemed to be very nice. She recommended a place to visit when we asked. The room was clean and equipped with everything we needed.

    Riitta2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean. Fresh towels and muffins waited for us. The place was literally situated in "Nature Paradise", which means you need GPS to get this lovely house. With GPS, yes, it must be easy to get there. This time I could not see Kim, I hoped though. The stay was overall great experience. Thank you for stay Kim.

My place less than 15 minutes to downtown TC and is close to parks and less than 5 minutes to a large lake with multiple beaches. Many families with children at Interlochen stay here as I am less than 10 Minutes away from the Academy and Camp! You’ll love my place because of the open and airy living space and large yard. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). I also have Kayaks, Tubes and life vests available for an additional fee.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Jenna's house. We experienced no problems and felt safe and comfortable during our time there. The listing photos are very accurate. The house was small but perfect for my two friends and I. We made several meals in the kitchen and found everything we needed. There was no air conditioning, but the weekend we traveled was cool and fans provided for a comfortable temperature inside the house. All three rooms had comfortable beds, and we slept great! Everything was clean and well kept. It takes a little over 20 minutes to get from the house to Traverse City (the Front Street/Marina area with shops and restaurants) and extra time is required to find parking. Meijer is about 15 minutes away. Empire and Glen Arbor are both about a half hour away. Though we seemed to spend a lot of time driving in between attractions, we found a lot of fun things to do in the area: Sleeping Bear Dunes, Good Harbor Beach, Cherry Bowl Drive-In Movie Theater, Gallagher's Farm Market (try the pizza bread!), Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, Heritage Trail Bike Rides, Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum, Coast Guard Station Maritime Museum, and Leland Fishtown. We all agreed that our favorite adventure from the trip was visiting Pyramid Point. It's a bit of a climb up the side of the dune but totally worth it! All in all, we had a great trip and enjoyed staying at this location. It was comfortable, clean, and safe, and I would happily recommend it to a friend for future stays.

  • My wife and I had an amazing four nights here. Extremely spacious and a great place to relax after days out in the many different places to see just a short drive away. Communication was great from Jenna as we just arrived let ourselves in and made the place our home.

  • I would rate the place and the Host a 6 star if I could. My wife and friends absolutely loved the place. Very clean, comfort and well-equipped. This is our first airbnb experience and I'm very happy that it was great. Communication with Jenna was smooth; she is very quick in responding to questions. We reached the place almost by midnight and had no problem to get inside. The place has well-equipped kitchen, comfy mattresses (2 queen and 1 full), efficient furnitures. Honestly, we didn't miss home. The location is very quiet and 20 mins from downtown Traverse City (most beautiful town I ever visited). Almost of same distance from Sleeping Bear Dunes. So, perfect place to stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Jenna's place and would surely go back. Highly recommended! :)

  • We had a great stay! Jenna's place was very clean, comfortable, and kid friendly; we have three children under six. We stayed in for dinner a couple of nights, utilizing the gas grill, and found everything we needed to prepare our meals. Her place is centrally located between downtown Traverse City (20 minutes) and the Sleeping Bear Dunes (25 minutes). Bonus: Our favorite ice cream place, Moomers, was an eight minute drive. She was quick to respond to any questions we had and even called to make sure we were settled in and found everything we needed.

    Neveen2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna's house was perfect for my weekend away with a few of my close college girlfriends. The house was easy to find, not too far from the downtown Traverse City, and had a beautiful deck that was perfect for sipping your morning coffee. Would definitely recommend staying at Jenna's house. Everything was very easy to check in and check out.

The village of Lake Ann is a charming, quiet, and quaint with a cafe, pizzeria, diner, post office, market, and locally owned brewery with handmade crafts! Many beaches to choose from, all a short drive away.
  • What a wonderful weekend! The cottage is lovely situated on a hill overlooking the lake. Everything we needed in the way of utensils and bedding, etc. was available. Dorina was a wonderful host and made us feel extremely welcome. We kept finding fresh flowers all over the house...lovely touch! Just wanted to note that there are some narrow stairs between the two floors which could be tricky for some! Lake Ann is a very cute little town with a great brewery and adjacent pizza shop. A great place to explore the region! Thanks again Dorina..hope to be back soon!

  • We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The area was beautiful as pictured. The cottage was quaint. Our host was easily accessible. We would recommend a stay at the cottage!

  • This cottage was exactly what my wife and i were hoping for. It's just off the beaten path, quiet, cozy, and beautiful sunsets on the lake. In addition to that it's within a short drive to Traverse City as well as countless wineries, breweries, and restaurants. We plan to come back again and we've already recommended it to some friends. Thank you Dorina!

    Matthew2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the cottage and garden. There were fresh cut flowers in every room. The view from the cottage was beautiful. We all had restful sleep. We were mostly out for sightseeing, but we wished we could spend more time at the cottage. Thank you.

  • Great location, close to both Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Clean, quiet, full of flowers and a stunning lake view. We enjoyed the kayaks! Highly recommended. Tom

  • It was a charming little place and a charming little town. We loved it and enjoyed our time there very much!

    Hannah2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very cute! The pictures do not show all the gorgeous details and views. My husband and I had a amazing 10th anniversary trip, the cottage was exactly what we were hoping for. We enjoyed easy back and fourth trips to Travers City and leelanau wine trail. We will definitely be back again!

    Kellie2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Dorina's cottage is absolutely enchanting. I loved feeling like we were miles away from anywhere, but still had the sense of security that being able to look across the lake and see a light in a neighbor's house brings. The night sky is gorgeous - if you enjoy star gazing at all, this is a perfect place. And of course, the cottage itself is clearly loved by Dorina. The decor adds to the magical atmosphere - it is exactly as shown in the pics, which is to stay, totally charming. There are *years* worth of guest books, all thanking Dorina for a lovely stay, and it's easy to see why - she goes out of her way to ensure your stay is special. I loved every minute of our stay.

Since 1987, Betsie Valley B & B has been accommodating travelers to Interlochen, and the Traverse City area. A simple ranch style home, 5 bedrooms, private baths, wi-fi, decks, porches, a "family friendly" attitude, and after concert deserts! Summer weekends require a two night minimum stay
A touch of Irish Hospitality in the Northern Michigan woods
Just 3 miles from downtown Interlochen, the Center for the Arts, and the State Park facilities. 13 miles to downtown Traverse City, and a short ride through the countryside to Sleeping Bear Dunes, and the Platte and Betsie rivers for fishing, tubing, and other water activities.
  • Had a wonderful stay with Peter and Denise. They are truly gracious hosts. Our room was spacious comfortable and clean. The bed was super comfortable. Best of all was the delicious breakfast made with local, organic fruit and eggs from a neighboring farm. We look forward to staying here again on a future visit to the area.

    Bud2015-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was wonderful. Peter and his wife went above and beyond to make sure that my boyfriend and I were as comfortable as possible. Their home was very inviting, relaxing and "homey." Breakfast consisted of fruit plates, coffee, eggs Benedict and apple pie. This was the first time I have ever had eggs Benedict (mostly a stickler for fried eggs) but they were amazing! I also loved the fruit plates. The mango was perfectly ripened. Coffee was served with a local, grass fed milk. Lastly, the seating by the window viewing the backyard was beautiful. They also have a dog and three cats! I enjoyed playing with Miss Mouse and watching the hummingbird fly around. Pete also mentioned some great local areas and routes to visit: Interlochen music school and the scenic route to the highway with lots of sunflowers or corn (corn this year) I will most definitely be staying with them again if I find myself in the area. Their kindness and hospitality will always stay in my heart.

    Hafsa2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Pete and Denise could not have been more gracious. They were very flexible with our late arrival (met with apple/raspberry pie!) and allowed us to check out late too. Denise cooked us a delicious breakfast (waffle with poached eggs for me, jalapeno and cheese omelet for my husband, both with potatoes and a fresh fruit plate) and we chatted with another couple of guests while we ate. At our request Finn was made available and he is just the sweetest dog—we all enjoyed petting him. If a high-end B&B experience with thoroughly up-to-date conveniences and total quiet is what you're looking for then Betsie Valley is not for you (but you should be able to gather that from the photos). This is more like staying with your kind aunt and uncle who live on a busy country road and like to host guests and tell stories. Pete and Denise have plenty of suggestions for where to go and what to do in the area, and they are happy to address any concern you might have. Finn is, of course, happy to get head scratches and maybe have you throw the ball for him.

  • This was my first ever time using AirBNB and for that matter a Bed and Breakfast. Peter and Denise are amazing host, I highly recommend booking with them if you are in the Traverse City area. The breakfast Denise made was amazing.

  • Pete and Denise are wonderful hosts. Very helpful in local information. Wonderful stories and made us feel very welcome. Tea and cookies in the evening and a full breakfast to start our day we're all great. Loved their pets.

    Jim2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a stressful day before finally arriving at their quaint and lovely B & B. They welcomed us with open arms, tried to help us wind down and even made us sandwiches since we hadn't had a chance to stop for supper. A very welcomed but unexpected surprise. The room was nice size with a very comfortable king bed, couch and private bath, we slept very well. The breakfasts were awesome, her specialty is eggs benedict or great waffles all very well and professionally presented but she would make whatever it was you wanted. Would definitely recommend the Betsie Valley B&B to anyone staying in the area. For us it was a great halfway point between our arrival on the Ferry in Muskegon and one of our spots to see, the Mackinac Bridge and Island.

    Shannon2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The breakfast was excellent and the conversation with Peter was too. His knowledge of the area helped me feel more of a connection to the locale instead of just a quick trip in and out. I also really appreciated the fact that there was enough privacy to come and go as needed (especially late) since I was there to go to a wedding. Overall I had a nice stay.

Highly recommend :)

The neighborhood is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. It is a very private area, with very little, local-only traffic. It is a lovely area for a bike ride along the lakeside, and we offer 2 bicycles and helmets for your use around the neighborhood during your stay.
  • My wife and I had such an amazing time staying at the Birch suite. Jim and Anne have thought of everything to make the stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The house is on a gorgeous property and great care has been taken to make the suite very private. The private hot tub and fireplace was such a nice touch. The suite is close to all the area has to offer. We loved interacting with Jim and Anne, wonderful people! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

    Justin2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at the Birch Suite was simply amazing. We almost booked a hotel in Traverse City and I can honestly say we would have missed out! Thank you Annie for your hospitality and for allowing us to be a guest in the Birch Suite.

    Eric2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Birch Suite truly exceeded all of our expectations! It was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and equipped with all ammentities you could possibly need during your stay. My girlfriend and I were looking for a cozy spot to celebrate New Years and our belated Christmas and the Birch Suite was absolutely perfect. The hot tub was clean and just a few steps from our door, the complimentary breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the dual controlled heated mattress was just the icing on the cake! Amongst our arrival we found a mini bottle of champagne and two pieces of traverse city pie in the fridge wishing us a happy new year. You can tell that Annie truly cares about her guests and the Birch Suite truly is a home away from home. I could go on for days about what a wonderful stay we had. Thank you, Annie!

    Kollin2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The birch suite was everything we imagined it would be and more. It was the perfect fall getaway. Annie did a great job making the place cozy, from the homemade breakfast casserole to the scented towels. The hot tub was a great way to enjoy the Michigan fall. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

    Boyang2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect little space for my fiancé and I while we were in Traverse City. Every little detail was thought of, and so much care was put into this place. It truly felt like a home away from home! The description and photos don't even begin to justify this beautiful place, and we will definitely be back, no question about it! Perfect space for 2.

    Chelsey2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Birch Suite was an exceptional accomodation and Annie was a fantastic host. This is a great getaway with every amenitie you can think of. And every detail mapped out to make your stay easy! A beautifully decorated private suite well located to explore the entire area! We enjoyed our stay and only wished we had more time to spend in the suite too. The hot tub and fire pit were great for a relaxing evening, and Annie went above and beyond with breakfast foods provided. We also enjoyed chatting with Annie and her husband Jim about the area and recommendations of highlights of the area. It truly was a bed and breakfast experience! Would highly recommend to anyone coming to the TC area! Much nicer than a hotel!

    Renee2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly as described. Annie met us at the door and gave us a very detailed explanation about everything plus there were little notes all over explaining things. The fridge was stocked with some fresh fruit and snacks. Very nice surprise after a five hour drive! The entrance was very private but some folks may have a bit of difficulty with the steps around back... Although we didn't have time to enjoy the fire pit (there was even a cute s'mores kit inside), we most certainly did enjoy our own private hot tub! We also didn't have time for a bike ride but there were two very nice bikes available. The bed was of high quality but was a tad too soft for my back... We had only a short weekend (one night) with specific places we wanted to sight see and Annie's place was perfectly located for us. I'm sure a longer stay would have been enjoyable as well as the surrounding area was quite peaceful.

    Terri2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay. Annie and Jim couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. The fridge was stocked with goodies, the room was comfortable and clean, and the setting was beautiful. And the patio was complete with a hot tub and fire pit. I loved that it was a bit out of town in a nice residential neighborhood near a lake, away from the commercial stuff. Annie is very responsive by email so if you have any questions you can get them answered before making a reservation. Definitely a find!!

700 square foot, sorta tiny house on 3 quiet rural acres with peaceful views, excellent stargazing, and a wraparound porch perfect for relaxing outside of the hustle and bustle of Northern Michigan's busy tourist towns. Close to Traverse City, Old Mission Peninsula, & Sleeping Bear Dunes, miles of trails for hiking and biking, and within a 10 minute drive of the amenities of Lake Ann, Michigan.
Ramble on Rose is a a pretty lil' owner built home with ecological efficiency, minimalism, and simple comfortable design in mind. The home features an open floor plan with a full sized kitchen area with modern appliances and living area with a full sized futon, a spacious bedroom with queen sized bed, full bathroom, and a partly finished loft space with a queen air mattress. A wraparound porch that gets full sun throughout the day provides plenty of extra relaxing, eating, and hammocking space for guests.
We love living in the middle of nowhere! Ramble on Rose is located on a rural residential road with 5 other houses. The home feels relatively private, however you may hear lawnmowers, dirt bikes, kids playing, and cars throughout the day. Our neighbors are truly friendly and wonderful people, so we ask that you are respectful of quiet hours in the yard after 10:00 PM. Downtown LA (population 268) has everything you need for a weekend getaway! Lake Ann Grocery Store carries food, supplies of all sorts, and treats. Papa J's pizza delivers to our neck of the woods. The home is located right next to Pearl Lake Recreation Area which has miles of trails, ORV two tracks, great fishing, and public access for kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding.
  • This place is amazing! Lots of great views all around the house. If you want "within" the nature relaxation, this is it. Perfect location. Close to the dunes and traverse city. Hosts give great tips, and an all-around amazing stay.

  • Kendall's home was very charming and located conveniently between Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in the small community of Lake Ann. The house is located in a quiet residential area surrounded by natural spaces. We were even visited daily by a flock of wild turkeys. Kendall was a very accommodating host and graciously provided firewood and fire starters for campfires, which made for relaxing evenings after long days of exploring the Leelanau Peninsula.

    Michael 2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were wanting to get "Up North" and explore several areas during just 3 days. Kendall's place was the perfect landing pad for us. It is simple, bright, clean and just adorable. It had everything we needed for our stay. We felt at home and were the perfect distance from so many beautiful areas nearby. Kendall was great at suggestions coming from a local. We went to several places she recommended and will try more on our next trip up! One of the nights we stayed we had a bonfire and laid out our beach towels and watched shooting stars in the AMAZING view of the sky from the backyard. I would highly recommend this gem if you are looking for an affordable trip with some privacy away from all of the tourists. We can't wait to come back!

    Lori2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kendall's home was absolutely perfect for the solo weekend getaway I had in mind. It has all of the amenities of a well-kept home with nothing but nature for a soundtrack. I loved the proximity to different day trip options and looked forward to returning to such a quiet sanctuary each evening. I highly recommend a visit!

  • The place was excellent! We enjoyed the beauty and quiet of the location. The proximity to Traverse City and Lake Michigan was ideal. The wrap around porch is awesome, as is the design of the house. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

  • Absolutely fell in love with Lake Ann and Kendall's place. It's a beautiful, cozy cabin, close enough to the city if you need access, but far enough away from everything that you can fully sit back and enjoy. We were there for a couple of nights and didn't want to leave! They were also incredibly responsive and accommodating throughout our entire stay. Hoping to be back really soon!

She was flexible and communicative in coordinating our arrival, and supplied us with a lot of information and fliers/maps about the area, and even gave us some plastic wine glasses and matches for a suggested bonfire on the beach. We enjoyed chatting with her around the breakfast table, with the nice continental breakfast she prepared. Her home and backyard are gorgeous. The drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City are very easy. Thanks, Susi, for making our stay so comfortable and for the interesting conversations!

    Lauren2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Susi's place. Such a warm and inviting home, the perfect place to retire to after exploring all day long. Kayla the cat is by far the friendliest cat that we have encountered. Susi and Otter are lovely company as well! Susi was extremely accommodating, even though she was out of town our first night. Check-in was still a breeze and she made sure we had all that we needed for breakfast. Staying at Suzi's place felt like staying at a friend's.

    Lani2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Susi was a great host - we felt like family and fit right in! Her fur babies Otter and Kayla were delightful!

    Denise2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Susi was a fabulous host! Her house and garden is beautiful and welcoming. She gave us helpful recommendations for the places with the best food and the coolest places to see. She was gracious, welcoming and friendly. Breakfast conversations with her were great. The icing on the cake was her awesome dog, Otter.

    Erik2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great house and property. Susi provided us with maps, recommendations, towels, extra sheets etc. She provided us with all the amenities we could ask for including breakfast. We would definitely return.

This space is unique in that it is removed from the chaos and hubbub of tourist seasonal activities, but has ease of access when you want to explore the incredible cultural and environmental offerings of Northwestern Lower Peninsula of Michigan--the land of the Great Lakes. Living on a beautiful, quiet 450 acre Pearl Lake and yet just 5-10 minutes to very quiet beaches of Lake Michigan makes for perfect daily choices. It's just 20 minutes to artistic endeavors offered at the internationally renowned Interlochen Arts Academy (our son attended there) and to beautiful downtown Traverse City. The overall environment is supported by participation in a contemplative activities, with a quiet time at 10 pm thru 10 am or so. Check out on YOUTUBE: Pearl Lake, Benzie County. A curated view from a boater's perspective.
This is Kayak, Canoe, Fishing, Swimming, Dune Hiking and Bike country! We love the beauty of our 5 acre lakeview property with lake access, and yet we are into Lake Ann and the world famous General Store in just five minutes, or off to many specialty stores of Traverse City, Glen Arbor, Beulah or Frankfort in a half an hour. Our big decision each day is "do we swim or boat in an inland lake or drive to the 'big lake" in the morning or save it for the afternoon?! And a campfire (when allowed by authorities) is a nightly event as we cuddle up on a hammock to check on our stars.
  • This place was totally worth it. It has a scenic beauty and quite environment. Good placw for weekend get away and relaxation. Had an amazing time.

  • As a young couple touring Empire and the Sleeping Bear Dunes area, Bill & Val's place was absolutely perfect being 15-20 minutes away from all the sights. Supreme cleanliness, interior design, comfort, and accommodation. Communication with Val was clear and quick, and we felt completely private but always able to ask for anything if need be while there. Over all, very clean, safe, and beautiful stay I would recommend to all, especially couples!

    Charles2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Val and Bill's. They came out to warmly greet us and show us the accommodations. The room was super clean and comfortable with a big bed and private bath. The forest area around the house is beautiful, quiet and in a great location. We definitely hope to stay here again next time we're in the area!

Cute ranch home with grey color pallet throughout the living room; spacious bathroom; full basement with a bar for entertaining; large backyard with nice size fire pit for yard games and relaxing campfires under the stars.
My house has around 1000 sqft finished space upstairs, plus a full, unfinished basement. I have a decent sized yard, large enough to park a boat, jet skis, etc. I do live here full time with my dog. We will not be staying at the house during booked times.
The Village of Lake Ann is about a mile from the house. Walk, bike or drive to Lake Ann Grocery, Red Door Coffee Shop, Lake Ann Brewery, or The Stone Oven. Papa J's pizza is a two minute walk around the corner if you are looking for something even closer. The DNR campground, boat launch and Lake Ann Pathways hiking trails are also within half of a mile. You will have about a 10 minute drive to the Cherry Bowl Drive-In; a 20 minute drive to Traverse City and Empire areas; a 30 minute drive to Frankfort, Crystal Mountain or Leland.
  • My family really enjoyed our stay at Laura's house! It was wonderful to have an entire house to ourselves. We had absolutely everything we'd need. They loved kicking a ball around in the backyard, and playing her game system. We even had a movie night, she has a few great movies to choose from. There are so many sleeping options, we slept perfectly. We went to sleeping bear dunes in the morning, and it feels much closer than you'd think. We would definitely stay here again if we went to the area again. We don't have pets at our house, so it was very apparent that one lived there, but not a problem.

    Emily2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Better pictures of proprty.

    Ronald2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's house was a perfect quick stop for us between Glen Arbor and Empire as we explored the Sleeping Bear Dunes.

    Laura2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's house was exactly as described! The only issues I had were the crickets that were in the house and the odor of dog when we walked in. There were three crickets when we woke up in the living room and kitchen, one was dead while the other two were still alive. Everything else was perfect, a quiet little house for a weekend getaway. She also let me bring my 3lb dog to stay as well which I was grateful for!

    Breeanna2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's home is very conveniently located near Traverse City. We stayed on the last weekend of the Traverse City Cherry Festival and it was a beautiful, easy drive to get to Traverse City. Laura was pleasant to deal with and very responsive to all of our communication. The internet at the house was great and the kids enjoyed using her (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Home device to listen to music. Nice big wall-mounted TV and even some video games. We didn't take advantage of the fire pit out back but the backyard is huge. Laura does have a dog, the house smells like it and it can cause some problems if you suffer from allergies, but otherwise the house is comfortable. We had a very nice weekend.

    Hollis2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Laura was easy; I was happy that our late arrival was not a problem and we could just let ourselves in. The grill on the deck was a nice perk (although we didn't use it).

Large backyard with a climber/swing set, trampoline and multitude of children's toys. You will have a 20 minute drive to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, 15 to Lake Michigan, 25 to down town Traverse City, 30 to Frankfort or Leland, 25 to Crystal Mountain, 15 to the Cherry Bowl Drive-In and 20 to Interlochen Center for the Arts.
  • The house was very clean, and had everything we needed and more. We had a great stay, and would definitely stay again.

  • My husband, mom, dad, and I spent a few nights at Andi's and we cannot wait to return! The house was very nice and comfortable. Homey yet decorated in a contemporary fashion. We had access to everything we needed and more and whenever I had a question Andi texted promptly and hospititaby. We had a fire one night in the backyard and were able to spend a day at Sleeping Bear Dunes. We went to Traverse City every night. Absolutely loved it! My mom and dad who never used Airbnb before were super impressed :) Would be a wonderful house for stargazing.

  • What a great value! The owners respond very very quickly and with courtesy! House is clean and perfect if you have little kids. And for us, the location could not have been better! Sorta centrally located if you want to explore the Grand Traverse area....we visited Traverse City, Empire, Leland, Frankfort, Sutton's Bay, and it just perfect!

    Juho2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This home was beautiful, refreshingly clean non carpeted floors (with clean throw rugs), and well designed. They have a big yard and a very nice deck to sit outside and enjoy the quiet serenity of the countryside. Location is between Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and if you're interested, the most beautiful Alpaca farm in Crystal lake. So it makes the home a good central location. Be sure to have gas, food, and essentials with you, there's not much around to grab things quickly.

    Eman2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We were seeking a home that was near both Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City. Andi's home was in a perfect location for both. The home was very well kept and Andi was quick to respond to any questions we had. The home itself is perfect for a family of 4 or more. Their yard is very large and has plenty to do for kids of all ages (trampoline, swings, a number of outdoor toys, etc.). I would highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a great, central location to all that northern Michigan has to offer.

    Ian2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean and at easy location. Very easy in and out to Sleeping Bear. My kids love the outdoor playground and all toys stocked in the house!! Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is roomy for 6 of us. Definitely recommended.

    Winnie2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice house with comfy master, bunk beds for younger kids, and a separate room for or a nanny or older kid. Best thing is trampoline for kids. The chickens are fun too, though it is a completely sealed area. 20- 30 min. to either side of the penninsula. Lovely deck looking out on firels

    Jane2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Plenty of space for our group! Quiet country setting complete with fire pit and chickens. Enjoyed our stay and will most likely try to stay again next year.

  • Annie was a spectacular host. She did everything she could to make our trip amazing. Her and her husband are simply great people, you can tell from the moment you meet them that they have a genuine interest in making sure your vacation is great. The camper was beautiful, thank you so much for the awesome experience Annie!

  • Another great stay in our "glamper!" (this was our second time renting the trailer from Annie and Jim). The trailer was perfect with all the things we could ever need. We will be returning again in September. Glamping is the way to go!!! :)

    Sue2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a great way for people to see if a camper is for them without buying! It was great to not haul or camper and have everything set up at the campsite for us. The bed was warm and comfortable. It was well stocked with paper goods, dishes and some breakfast items. Only addition that would be nice is a small grill. Definitely would recommend if you love camping or just want to try it out!

    Jori 2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Annie and Jim make sure you feel at home in their camper. We loved everything about our stay. From the little homey and welcoming touches ( fresh flowers on the table-water -juice and bagels in the fridge!!) to the ease of being able to just bring our stuff in after they set the whole camper up. They were prompt and efficient with set up and take down. Truly exceeded all our expectations and would highly recommend them if you want to camp near Traverse City. We plan on using them the next time we do.

    Donna2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great host! Excellent added touches - fresh fruit bowl, muffins and bagels, as well as juice and milk. Definitely exceeded expectations!! :) Would recommend Anne to anyone who is coming to the Traverse City area!

  • Another great stay in the camper! This was our fourth time, we came up to see the fall colors, and even though the weather was cooler this time (going down into the 40s at night!), the trailer has a furnace and we stayed nice and warm and Annie and Jim made sure we had everything else we needed for an enjoyable stay!

    Sue2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful camping experience thanks to Annie & Jim! They thought of every detail to make our stay memorable. The camper was set up in the park of our choice, stocked with many amenities including rug and chairs under the awning for our enjoyment. The bed had a comfy mattress with the most amazing bedding & pillows to keep us warm. It was (URL HIDDEN) this really camping! Annie is attentive to every detail to make the stay fantastic. It was a pleasure to meet Annie & Jim, a talented couple on the move!! We found great rivers to kayak in the area and enjoyed the quaint towns and festivals and look forward to staying again!!

  • Before even arriving, Andrew did a great job of communicating and letting us know he was looking forward to our stay. Upon our arrival, he greeted us in the driveway and invited us to sit by the backyard campfire. We had a great time talking over the fire and getting some tips on where to go during our visit. He was very friendly and accommodating, and I appreciate how he was flexible with our travel plans. The basement room connected to the garage gave us the freedom to come and go without interrupting his schedule as well. Andrew was a great host!

    Denise2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Rachel's place was great! It was private and everything was really clean. Their golden retriever pup Luke is the cutest little pup ever and was so friendly! They are located right next to the lake and it was only a 10 minutes drive to the city. Andrew and Rachel also recommended some places for us to go bc it was our first time there! They are such a nice couple and we felt very welcomed at their place! Wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely stay at Andrew's place again!

    Annie2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place was great, his place is very clean and I left it the way it was. Guest suite is located in the basement, which is very private, and the bedroom was clean with a private full bathroom. His place is 20mins away from Sleeping Bear Dunes/Traverse City downtown, and we stayed at his place for a night. Will recommend this place!

    Brian2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place was everything we needed. Nothing fancy, but the house is located in a beautiful area within comfortable distance to downtown. We had our own private space but also got the chance to talk with Andrew and Rachael, his girlfriend, who were both extremely welcoming. They were also very comfortable with our puppy which made our stay that much more enjoyable. A great time for us!

    Hillary2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The basement has odor and spiders for you to accompany. Bathroom floor shows signs of humidity. Bedding and comforters weren't clean to feel comfortable with. The place seems to be made available with unfinished work.

  • Andrew was an awesome host! Came up for a girl's weekend and the location was perfect - about 10 mins from downtown. Andrew had a cool setup in the basement for us and we felt very welcome in his home :) Would definitely stay again!

  • Spent a weekend in Traverse City and Andrew's home was the perfect location. Only a short 10 minute drive to downtown. Very private accommodations. Andrew was great at communicating with me with any questions I had.

  • Great hosts! Andrew and Rachel were very friendly and helpful. Also a super sweet dog. The space was just ok. Was perfectly clean and functional for just sleeping, but could use a couple creature comforts to make it a complete living space. I think the hosts are working on making these changes in the future. • The host did an amazing job making us feel at home. The cottage was clean and extremely welcoming. It's in a very quiet neighborhood, but is only about 10 minutes from downtown Traverse City- which was extremely convinent. The lake is located right down the street, which was awesome, too! Wonderful little cottage.

  • The location of this house was very convenient. It was 15-20 minute drive to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and the wineries on the Mission Peninsula. It is also very close to a beach and hiking areas near Long Lake.

    Meredith2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mindy's place is lovely and comfortable. The surroundings are very peaceful and quiet. We saw deer and a wild turkey in the yard, plus a bald eagle when we were by the lake. It is a perfect getaway place.

    Shelley2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mindy's place was wonderful! It's close enough to downtown Traverse City for a quick trip and a stones throw from Long Lake. Long Lake was great for swimming on the beaches and shore fishing (must use waders). We spent a lot time hanging out in downtown Traverse City, but also cooked/relaxed at home and also drove around finding some local gems and were pleased all around! Mindy was a perfect host and her home was more than comfortable; it was home base!

    Phil2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cute cottage in a private setting. It had a nice deck, laundry, wifi, tv, and was a great location. There were 2 public beaches about 1 mile away to access long lake. Mindy was great and made sure we had everything we needed. My 2 1/2 year old did not want to leave at the end of the week!

    Anne2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Just as expected for a nice Michigan get away. Large deck for hanging outside, short walk to the lake, kayak provided and the fire pit was a bonus! Very clean/neat/organized inside the home. Mindy was very easy to communicate with and super helpful with things to do in Traverse City. I would recommend Mindy's place to families or groups of friends looking for a nice relaxing vacation with a cute town to explore!

    Tasha2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mindy's place was great for us! We were traveling for leisure with our two and a half-year-old and this close to town, but out of the way cottage, was perfect for our family. The neighborhood was quiet, which we enjoyed. The cottage is pretty well equipped with the essentials as well. The deck is a wonderful feature for spending time outside and we lucked out that the mosquitos weren't out in force.

    Greg2017-07-06T00:00:00Z

My place is close to Traverse City, Interlochen Arts Academy, Lake Dubonnet, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Cross Country Ski Trails, Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and Dunes, Frankfort, Glen Arbor, Leland, Wineries, the Ale Trail, Leelanau Pennisula, Old Mission Pennisula, Beaches, State Forests, Kayaking, Tubing, Downhill skiing, Everything outdoors! You’ll love my place because of the proximity to everything!
This is our family's cabin. It is not the Ritz. It IS quaint, and cozy, and an excellent value for the price. I have appliances from 1953 which are pristine for their age but admittedly, not the most state of the art. To help out, I've added a fridge in the basement with a larger freezer. The beds are comfy, shower hot, and the coffee maker works great. There is a large deck out front with furniture that may have to be wiped down prior to use (or just throw a towel on it). I have just upgraded to cable and wifi for the indoorman in your group. It is not perfect, but has come a long way. There are small areas of trim to finish, no iron or ironing board (because WHO IRONS while on vacation in Northern Michigan?), and the water is from a well (Ithink it is some of the nicest well water I've seen but some city dwellers may smell a faint odor on occasion). I'm trying to list all of the bad here so guests don't have unrealistic expectations. What you do get is a lot of space and beds for the money. As most people vacationing up north, you aren't going to spend your waking hours sitting at the cabin are you?
  • Very nice and tidy. Short drive to grocery/ gas station but still a 'way out of town' feel. Large and a very nice front deck to enjoy.

  • Felt this place was good value. It was very clean. We stayed here with our 3 young kids and a couple and we were comfortable. Loved how close it is to Traverse City (about 20mins away). The place was warm and inviting. Kristi, our host was great with communication and was very kind. Only thing to mention is the stove is quite old so if you are planning on cooking meals, it could take awhile. The place was great though. Also, we weren't expecting wifi as it wasn't listed, but it has wifi which was a great bonus! We would definitely recommend this place as well as we would stay here again :)

  • This house is a great location to visit Traverse and or attend an event in Interlochen. Nothing beats amenities like a washer and dryer when traveling with kids. Cute as a button. Fridge is small with no real freezer so just an FYI if you would need that. Kristi was super nice and available anytime!

  • Fantastic solution to the overcrowded family cottage on a busy August weekend in the Traverse area. Quie, comfortable room. Gracious and welcoming hosts. Sorry we missed breakfast!

  • Peter and Denise were great hosts and their 'southern' hospitality was as advertised. Denise makes the best breakfasts and she and Peter really aim to please. My wife and I really felt welcome right from the start and when we left we exchanged cell phone numbers so we can keep in touch in the future. The room was as advertised and we really enjoyed having our own bathroom to use and we also liked to be able set the room thermostat where we liked it. The bed was very comfy and there were hangers for our clothes and plenty of drawer space for all the rest of our stuff. The Interlochen, MI area is beautiful as well as the surrounding areas. When you're in the Grand Traverse area you're in paradise...'nuff said. My wife and I would definitely go back to the Betsie Valley B&B again and have already discussed the thought of going back next year hopefully. We already miss the place.

  • Absolutely delightful experiance. Peter and Denise are very hospitable hosts to their home. Felt very comfortable, enjoyed the travel stories, great tips and hints for seeing the region. Oh, did I mention the breakfasts! Delicous!! What a great way too start the day!!! Looking forward to my next trip in NW Michigan.

  • Peter and Denise are lovely and welcoming. As others have said, breakfast was fantastic. Seriously fantastic. Location was perfect for our needs. Finn the dog and the cats, for us, were cool to have around.

  • Peter and Denise are warm and gracious hosts, and we really enjoyed our stay at their B&B during our weekend visit to Interlochen. Breakfast was delicious, the room was cozy and comfortable, and I would definitely stay again!

  • We very much enjoyed out time in Peter's home. The eggs were amazing! the room was well designed and clean. We loved playing with their dog Fin who is very well behaved. We had lovely conversation and met a variety of interesting people with whom we shared good conversation. The hosts are welcoming to all guests, be they adults or kids coming up to music camp. Peter and his wife are quick to offer assistance if you need suggestions about the area, restaurants, or the vital indoor and outdoor activities available in the area. Don't miss Moomers Ice Cream!

  • We had an amazing time at this beautiful home! The hosts thought of EVERYTHING and left us a fully-stocked kitchen full of goodies and treats upon our arrival. The house was exceptionally clean and kid-friendly as well (booster seat, gates for stairs, toys and playing area on the lower level). We hope to come back again next year!

  • Our stay was wonderful! The house is beautiful. Very clean and extremely welcoming. Highly recommended!

  • Lin and Dave are excellent hosts. Not only do they have a beautiful home, they go the extra mile to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome. Aptly named, their "gorgeous escape" is indeed a gem of a house located off the beaten path yet close to all amenities. Their home is bright and impeccably clean, with lots to do both indoors and out. We never got bored; in fact, we felt that our 4 day stay was not long enough to enjoy everything there was to do there. Our hosts provided everything we needed for a very delightful and relaxing stay. Our kids are already asking when we will be able to return!

    Esther2015-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our first time with Airbnb. The property and hosts were exactly as described. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time with it only being 15 short minute drive to downtown traverse city. The extra details were definitely thought out by our most wonderful hosts!!! From the breath taking views to the tranquil woods setting, this will definitely make it difficult to stay anywhere else next time we visit the area; as we hope the property is available the next time we visit....

    Brandy2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lin and Dave's lake house was exceptional. It was the perfect private escape for the holiday weekend. We were welcomed with two bottles of local Michigan wine (which were awesome) and some other local goodies. The kayaks were fun to use on the lake and the sunsets (the house faces West) were incredible. It felt like we were in a movie! I couldn't recommend this place highly enough - its close to grocery stores and restaurants (2 mile drive), but it feels like its in the middle of nowhere. I think there are only 2 other houses on this lake and we didn't see anyone else the whole time we were there. Another bonus - dog friendly! Our little guy loved exploring the grounds and was startled late a night by a cute raccoon! Awesome place - we can't wait to come back.

    Grant2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful wooded location. Drivable to lots of shops, wineries and restaurants. This lake house was VERY clean and the kitchen was well-supplied. Thoughtful welcome basket full of local goodies when we arrived. Owners were accommodating and easily accessible. Lake was great if you like to fish. Overall great place!

    Traci2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful 4th of July holiday at this beautiful property on Lake Dubonnet. Owners were very welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could wish for, which made our stay so much more enjoyable. They even stocked the fridge with some local favorites (beer, ice cream and other goodies). The house itself is amazing - our party included 3 families with 6 kids total and everyone was super comfortable with 3 separate bedrooms/bathrooms. We had a multitude of activities to choose from with the extensive collection of fishing rods, two kayaks in the backyard, a gorgeous living room with fireplace inside, fire pit in the back by the lake (with plenty of firewood in the garage that we could use freely), a small baseball field, bird feeders, deer feeders, and more. We had plenty of fun and made some great memories. The lake itself is great for fishing and kayaking with beautiful sunsets. The property is located very close to Traverse City and the Old Mission peninsula with plenty of wineries, "pick your own cherries" places and a great beach by the lighthouse. Sleeping Bear Dunes are about 30-40 minutes drive away. Overall, we would highly recommend this place for a great family vacation.

  • We have rented many homes via Airbnb and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) over the years and never in all of our experiences have we enjoyed hospitality like we received from Lin and Dave! Their home on Lake Dubonnet is absolutely wonderful - cozy, wonderful amenities, beautiful location...we could have just stayed in the house the entire time we were visiting and gazed at the views! The home is comfortable and our group of eight (4 couples) was very comfortable. We didn't want to leave at the end of our stay! Lin and Dave were available for questions (with almost immediate responses!) and graciously and generously provided a host of wonderful treats that greeted us upon arrival. We couldn't have been happier with our choice and definitely hope to be back! Thanks for everything!!

  • If you are planning to visit Traverse City Michigan. I highly recommend staying with Pinkie and John. They are very friendly and warm people. They go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and are very accommodating . They provide fresh brewed coffee, fresh baked Banana nut bread every morning. The bedroom is spacious with a adjacent reading room room with a desk. Their house is in two acres of land with a beautiful back yard in a nice secure and comfortable Neighborhood. Yes this is a home I would like to stay at against if I find myself going to Traverse City again.

  • John and Pinkie were wonderful hosts! From the very moment we arrived, they made us feel extremely welcome in their beautiful home. We spent the evening chatting and then had a great nights sleep. In the morning we were greeted with fresh coffee! From start to finish it felt more like staying with family than with strangers.

  • This is a very nice house in a quiet country setting. The house is lovely & clean. Our room was well-kept and comfortable. We had a separate sitting room to relax in & our own bathroom as well. John & Pinkie did everything to make us feel welcomed. We would stay here again. It is a very good value, especially compared to the prices at other local lodging.

  • John and Pinkie are really nice and kind people. Every morning coffee/tea, bakery, fresh fruit are on the dining table before we wake up.
