  • Noel's house is amazing - he has thought of every little detail. The place is few minute walk from the town center. Noel gave us recommendations for unknown but amazing places in the area so we explored the beautiful scenery to the fullest! Would recommend the place and the host!

  • Noel was a great host. He was extremely responsive and flexible with our changing timetable. He made us a cup if tea and was welcoming upon our arrival. Our room was very clean and cozy with an attached bathroom. The house is right on the main road so very quick and easy to walk to town. The town is very nice with good walking and pubs. Noel's house also has beautiful gardens which were lovely!

  • Although short, we enjoyed our stay at Noel's. He recommended place to eat and some less tourist spots to see. He was very kind to us and helpful.

    Mireia2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Noel's place. He made us feel right at home from the start, welcoming us with tea and bisquits. His place is lovely, clean and a perfect location to explore the county Clare. He made sure we had everything we need, including towels, shampoo and even breakfast cereal. The whole trip was quite spontaneous, we only booked Noel's place two days in advance and received his reply within an hour of our booking. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

  • From our first minute at Noel's until we drove away three days later, we felt we were at home. Noel was very helpful by directing us to pubs for dinner where we met some lovely townspeople. He provided helpful information and introductions. We will definitely stop back when we are in the area. The room was comfy and spotless. We give it a

  • Noel is amazing and has a lovely home. He welcomed us nicely when we arrived and gave us great dinner recommendations. On the next morning he gave us the advice to visit the cliffs of Kilkee and Loop head, which we hadn't on our itinerary. I'm glad we changed plans - both places were amazing.

Our house is located right on the Shannon estuary, in the quiet village of Labasheeda in West Clare. It's a beautiful setting any time of the year, rain, hail or shine. Spend the day exploring the Wild Atlantic Way...our beautiful Burren, Loop Head Peninsula, Cliffs of Moher, Kilkee Pollack Holes and so much more.
When you stay at our place in Labasheeda, you have many options. You can use it as a base to visit places like Loop Head, the Cliffs of Moher or explore the Wild Atlantic Way. Alternatively you can relax in Labasheeda..there are lovely country roads ideal for walking or cycling. Our place is spacious and warm and lovely to just relax in, listen to some music, read a book or maybe get out your paints.
Labasheeda is a small farming village in West Clare, situated alongside the Shannon estuary which offers beautiful views, stillness, bird life and if your're lucky, you might spot a dolphin. In Irish, Labasheeda translates into 'bed of silk' leaba meaning bed and sioda meaning silk. Legend has it that a ship got into difficulty on a stormy night sailing up the Shannon and took refuge in a bay in Labasheeda. The captain and crew had such a peaceful nights rest that they called it The bed of Silk! There is a Catholic church in the village, a post office, a primary school, and a pub with a small grocery store in front. Labasheeda is a quiet, friendly village and a lovely place to just take some time out. The nearest pharmacy and mini supermarket are ten minutes away and the bigger supermarkets, bank, health food store etc., are 20 mins away
  • This airbnb is the best we have ever stayed in. Such a beautiful location and everything I needed for a fulfilling, relaxing and inspiring break away from 'normal' life. The house is fantastic - so spacious, airy and light and the view- spectacular. The kids were also at peace in this charming place. Near to all the 'must sees' but our favourite was Pollock holes and simply staying in the airbnb location. Superb value for money - this stay is up there with my best holiday experiences -thank you :)

  • Dear Mairead, Thank you very much once again for the chance to stay at your wonderful house. We really, really enjoyed it - even at the rainy days. We can highly recommend this wonderful and modern house - especially for families with little children. The view is great, the options for little adventures are superb and the communication to the hosts is just great. Many thanks and all the best. Judith, Helena, Christian

    Christian2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in your home, Mairead. It was the perfect calming respite from our hectic Dublin life. Our six-year old son quite enjoyed searching the water with your binoculars from the huge panoramic window downstairs, looking for passing ships, seagull meetings, dolphins...and the Loch Ness monster (on holiday in the Shannon estuary!). The upsatirs master bedroom is cosy and peaceful and it was nice to have the sitting area with the TV/DVD just outside it for the kids to have their holiday TV treat (no TV at home). And the kids had a grand time bathing in the large upstairs bath. Another holiday treat for them as we only have a shower in ours. Labasheeda is lovely little village and an excellent place to venture further afield to Kilrush, Kilkeel, Doonbeg, Loop Head, etc. We only managed the first three this time and will hopefully make it out to Loop Head on our next visit. With horseback riding and a visit to the Vandeleur Walled Gardens in Kilrush on Saturday and then the beaches at Kilkee and Doonbeg on Sunday, we used up our weekend quickly. It was lovely to meet Tom and your lovely daughter, too. Both were very warm and most hospitable. Hopefully we'll see you all again sooner than later. Sláinte! Daniel & family

  • WOW!!!!! Now then, where do I begin. If you are looking for the perfect place for rest and relaxation, then Mairead and Tom's home is a must. The idyllic setting, wonderful house, warm welcome from Tom and the pure peace and quiet are what makes this home such a perfect stop. We loved the fact it was off the beaten track, but how can you not fall in love with the Shannon Estuary? Just watching the tide come and go, listening to Redshanks and Curlews call ... perfection. The house itself has everything you will ever need and it was absolutely spotless upon our arrival. Mairead and have even made us a delicious bread, the perfect fuel for weary souls after a long drive. I really can't provide enough superlatives, it is just the ideal place to get away from it all. So if you want to escape the tourist trail and fall in love with a real slice of Ireland, then this lovely home in Labasheeda is the ultimate getaway. We can't wait to come back and I am sure you will feel the same.

  • Everything the guests before us have written is true. Everything is very clean, good beds, big kitchen, good shower. In the evening you can even burn the stove with turf or wood what lies in the house. A wonderful spacious house on a beautiful spot with lots of things to do in the near surroundings. Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Loop Head, Dingle Peninsula, Kilrush, Kilkee etc. We would really recommend it to everyone who likes the piece and quiet, but also wants things to do nearby.

    Mieke2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and very spacious house with fantastic views on the lake. We (a group of 3) had a perfect stay. The location is made to be a base to travel the Wild Atlantic Way - no matter if you're goin to south or north. Open and very clean kitchen, wonderful fireplace and Mairead & Tom are the perfect hosts.

    Maik2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Where should I start? The house is situated in a really idyllic small place directly on the water. The house offers a lot of space and has everything to offer what the heart desires. Although we had rather bad flight times, we were very warmly welcomed. We had a great time and felt immediately at home. So if you want to have incomparably nice hosts with a lot of love for the detail, then contact Mairead and Tom. Thanks for this absolutely perfect holiday in this great house.

    Lea2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a fantastic location- on our first morning we saw dolphins from the window and we realised we'd discovered a real gem of a place. The house is large and light and airy, really clean and thoughtfully equipped. It is slightly out of the way but this means that it is well off the tourist trail and so quiet and peaceful. Makes a very good base for seeing all the Clare sights but also as a place to just unwind and relax for a few days. Highly recommend.

  • The house was not easy to find, but when we finally arrived, we felt very welcome. With no restaurants open nearby and empty stomachs, Geraldine made us dinner with homemade bread, cheese, jams and wine. She was a very nice, involved/ helpful host. The house is beautiful en very nice renovated. A wonderful experience which we highly recommend if you're done with the tourist routes.

    Germaine2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Killofin Hosue was fantastic and perfect for our group! We stayed in a quiet area with access to city services just a short drive away. Geraldine and Trevor met us as we arrived and provided very helpful information. We learned a great deal about Ireland and the area from them. The house was perfect for our group. I'd definitely contact Geraldine again on our next trip to Ireland. Thanks for making our trip memorable.

  • Geraldine and Trevor were fantastic hosts! They own a cattle farm and our children absolutely loved being able to milk a cow and feed the calves. Trevor was very knowledgeable above it the places to see that weren't tourist spots. Thank you for the great stay and we will stay again when we make it back to Ireland!

Tíg Barra is situated on The Shannon Estuary Drive, just off the Wild Atlantic Way. An idyllic rural setting with a private beach and a tree sheltered garden, full of interesting gems. The Estuary is a special place for wild birds with beautiful light and views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, cyclists and business travellers.
You’ll love my place for the idyllic tranquil setting on the Shannon Estuary Bay, where you hear the curlew and see the egret. A place where you can relax and eat in a cozy kitchen. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a queen's bed. Each room is €45 per night, with use of the entire house. On arrival, I will meet and greet and show you the house and fascilities. I am not staying in the house when I have guests. I am a professional artist and work and live in my studio attached to the house. Private art workshops or group art workshops are available.
My place is close to Kildysart village with postoffice, grocery shops, chemist, butcher, hardware store, hair salon and friendly pubs. Just 20 km away from the busy nightlife and Traditional Irish music in Ennis, with excellent restaurants. The Shannon Estuary is a beautiful part of Ireland with many picturesque places.

Traditional "Old World" country cottage in peaceful rural setting. Easy access to the Wild Atlantic way. Ideal touring base for Bunratty, Dromoland, Doonbeg, Cliffs of Moher, Kerry, Kilkee. Limerick and Galway are 1 hour away and Ennis is 20 mins.
Charming country cottage on the Shannon Estuary. Relax and enjoy country walks or use as a touring base to see Limerick, Ennis, Galway(1 hour away), Bunratty Castle, Dromoland, the Burren, Cliffs of Moher and more.....
Kildysart village is 2 &1/2 kilometers away. It has a supermarket, pubs, butchers and excellent children's playground. It is very much a farming village so no fine eateries.
  • We adored this country cottage! It was our favorite part of a wonderful trip all over Ireland. It was just the sort of rustic and picturesque experience my mom had been dreaming about. The two cows in the yard were a fun surprise!

    April2015-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely little cottage. Let it air out for a day before you judge it! We cooked a huge batch of stew our first night and snacked on that any time when we were home. It was a cozy cottage and we had a wonderful time. The DVD case includes the 1988 BBC Chronicals of Narnia. What a gem! Lol. I highly recommend you bring your own pillows, a mattress pad and some dish soap. This is not the cabin for you if you have severe dust allergies. The door has to be lifted onto its latch to make sure it's closed or it will blow open at night or when you're not home.

    Angela2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time at Niamh, a great little place in the countryside. The house is very tidy and efficiently organised, with all what one requires for a nice stay

    Romain2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage lost in the country near the irish atlantic coast. We loved it, so charming, so rustic. We had to take the car but the county of Clare have a lot of things to discover : cliffs of Moher, the Burren landscapes, the Loop Head ... the cities of Ennis, Kilrush ... and it isn't too much far away from the Connemara. The children enjoyed the cows beside the cottage. This little cottage is a very good place we warmly recommend.

    anthony2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This country cottage is a bit isolated but GPS did work well for us. Our host was very helpful and we took her suggestions. Upon arrival we built a nice fire and the house warmed up nicely. Nearby Ennis has very nice restaurants.

    Kay2015-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Niamh provided a great welcome and her cottage lived up to our every expectation! We only stayed for 3 days, but could have stayed 3 weeks. Everything in the cottage was perfect and our stay was wonderful.

    Simon2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The most charming, pretty little haven in the West! Homely, cosy and in an idyllic setting. My family and I all loved it from the moment we stepped over the threshold.

    Lara2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Niamh sent us a mail within a description where we could find the cottage and how we could enter the cottage. it felt like a quest. The cottage itself is cosy and well equipped. It was nice to stay in a authentic cottage. We could be in Ireland for only a week so we had to make choses what to do and what to see. In Clare we went to the cliffs of Moher and we loved it.

My place is close to the Tabert/Killimer car ferry giving easy access to Clare, and a trip to the infamous Cliffs of Moher is a must. Killarney and Dingle are top tourist attractions and are well worth a day trip while on holidays. Ballybunnion Beach is just a short drive and boasts a beautiful beach and cliff walk. You’ll love my place because of the warm cosy feel you will get when you walk through the door. The cottage is well equipped for your every need while on holiday.
Court Farm Cottage is nestled in between the picturesque villages of Glin and Tarbert on the Wild Atlantic Way. The view over the Shannon Estuary is spectacular. The cottage is close to my house, however, I believe in giving you every privacy and I do not invade your space while you are on holidays. However, if you need any assistance during your stay I am more than happy to oblige. The cottage is tastefully furnished, and has internet, dvd, cd, TV, everything you require to have a comfortable and happy holiday.
  • Lovely place to stay and Clodagh was very fast in helping us find this place.

    Heng2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay here recently. The house is in a very good location but you will need a car. It suited us perfectly as it was 1 hour from Limerick, 30min from Ballybunion, and only 2k to the ferry terminal in Tarbert - which gives access to Co. Clare. The road that the house is on is very busy with high volumes of traffic and a high speed limit so it wouldn't be a safe or pleasant to walk into the local village. Best to travel by car if staying here. The house itself was perfect for us, we had two small children and it is child safe and friendly. Clodagh was very welcoming and offered advice on 'things to do', 'places to eat' and gave us the rundown on the workings of the house. We would definitely visit again.

    Shay2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Clodagh's cottage is a really nice place to spend some family times for a long weekend or holidays! The cottage has everything we needed to cook and relax. Clodagh was a very nice host and I recommand her to everyone! It was a lovely stay for a long weekend and he hope to come back soon! Thank you Clodagh!

  • Wonderful views everywhere, extremely helpful!

    Thor2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clodagh's place was everything what we needed that dreadful July day. It was raining from dawn till dusk (even local people admitted that it's not that common there), so we reached the cottaged soaking wet. With a little help from Clodagh, I launched heating, so house became warm really quickly. Kitchen was pretty well equipped - it does even have a dishwasher, so we had a chance to prepare nice meal. The only inconvenience was busy road with high speed limit that is next to the cottage, but if you sleep in two bedrooms in back part of the house, it's almost unnoticeable.

    Aleksandra2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house is disconnected from the host. It is a beautiful home with breathtaking views. Clodagh provided us with a few items for breakfast. Very greatful considering we are not from the area and the house is secluded.

    Laura2017-03-28T00:00:00Z

  • The stone house is really charming. We were a group of 7 friends and we went there for a long weekend, it was perfect. Rooms are clean, the kitchen is spacious and the living room really cosy. Marion is a great host, she answers really quickly and she's really helpful for any question. I recommend strongly this AirBnB.

  • Having left our UK home at 4am we were exhausted but arriving at Marion's to find a basket of food items and a lovely lit fire cheered us up. The wine was appreciated too! A lovely place to stay, quiet, lots of space and all required home comforts. It's about 30 mins into Ennis and well located for the Burren and Cliffs of Moher. We'd happily stay again. Thank you, Marion and Tom!

    Farida2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely wee place to stay. Lovely pub, loved the old style house upstairs (reminded us of our grannies' houses). The listing on AirBnB is entirely accurate. Loved this place and this village. Hidden gem. Both hosts, Carroll and Gerry were lovely people. (My only complaint is that I hate big TVs in small pubs. But that's just me. To me pubs are 99% for conversation. If I want to watch TV, I'll stay at home. It's just a bugbear of mine. I try to avoid pubs with TVs that stifle conversation).

  • It was so nice! We (4) lived over a family-pub. We could use the flat above. The dog joey is special. You'll love him. You can visit a castle and walk to a point of view, where you can see the landscape. In the evening we played cards in the pub and drank local beer. It was our best accomondation in Ireland. We are so thankful.

    Daniela2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best Airbnb stays I have had ever! I was treated with such kindness by the whole family. Their home is full of old worldly charm that transports you back in time to the 1950s. And below is a lovely, cozy bar where you can drink and chat with the family and locals. All in all, a fantastic place at a great price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone passing through Glin looking to experience real Irish hospitality.

    Peter2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Magpie accomodation is little old fashioned but very comfortable and clean. The owners made us very welcome and made our stay very enjoyable. The Guinness in the bar was very nice. The continental breakfast was provided in the morning. There was also a playground nearby wich was great as we had a small child with us. Overall we would recommend this place to our friends.

This house is cozy and spacious with bright rooms and fantastic views of the River Shannon, located a couple of minutes drive from the Killimer to Tarbert car ferry on the Wild Atlantic Way. If you want peace and tranquillity, this house is for you, surrounded by nature yet only a short drive from all the amenities you could wish for ; Kilrush town, Loop Head, Cliffs of Moher, beaches. I leave some food for your breakfast when you arrive. I also have a travel cot or pull out bed if requested.
The house is spacious with large gardens and lots of parking. Lovely outdoor seating area to enjoy the views. Everything you need is in the house, Tea, coffee, fruits, bread, cereals for breakfast all left for you on arrival. Children's games and toys. TV with many channels and DVDs and a selection of books. Picnic basket. Travel cot or pull out bed suitable for a child available on request.
The property is located 10mins by car to the lovely town of Kilrush which has bars, restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and gift shops and several supermarkets. There are so many wonderful places to visit and things to do, dolphin watching, boat trips, fishing, walking, cycling, swimming, dining out, exploring areas of outstanding natural beauty. The Cliffs of Moher are within an hours drive and the beautiful local beaches are within 30 mins drive. The local swimming spots on the river are just 10 mins away. Enjoy a walk through the woods just outside Kilrush and visit the Vandeleur Walled Gardens and then lunch in the Woodland Bistro. Make sure to go Dolphin Watching from the Marina in Kilrush and bring a picnic to the beautiful unspoilt Scattery Island. Visit Loop Head Peninsula and take a guided tour of the lighthouse and stroll around the headland enjoying the panoramic views. So much to do and see in our local area.

Katie's Cottage is a large traditional Clare Farmhouse and has a lounge, 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen, all centrally heated. It is ideal for up to 5 people. There's a lovely, well kept garden in front of it with lots of flowers. Enjoy the warmer days and evenings on the picnic bench and have a chat with the friendly neighbours! If you're looking for peace and tranquility in unspoiled rural Ireland this is the place to be!
Cottage is located in Cranny which is 12 miles from Kilrush and 17 from Ennis. It is rural location with a 7 minute walk to local pub.
  • Cozy cottage with character and history. Warmest most inviting hosts, Pat & Agnes. Upon Pat's suggestions we drove up to Kilkee cliffs and saw the most amazing views which were just as beautiful and majestic as the Cliff of Moher. Great spot for sight seeing in the area.

  • This is a beautiful farmhouse with a gorgeous garden! It is very large, plenty of room for ourselves and two teenagers. The shower was large as well which is a treat in Irish cottages. Agnes and her husband were excellent hosts and even Helena, their neighbour, brought us fresh scones and jam when we arrived. The bed was the most comfortable I've slept in during my stay in Ireland. We stayed nice and warm as well. I loved this cottage and can't recommend it enough! Also if you stay in cranny be sure to check out Kilkee Cliffs. We went on recommendation from our hosts and they were so much better than Cliffs of Moher.

    Alicia2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, small adequate, quaint, traditional, cosy. My kids just loved the fire and we much appreciated the provision of turf and sticks. Location even though remote is sort of in the middle of the county and once you have transport you can get to see lots of co Clare's attractions within 15 - 40 mins. Loved it.

    Aoife2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely week at Katie's Cottage. Agnes and Pat were lovely hosts. The offer was there to call to them next door if we needed anything, as it happened we didn't. There was a delicious home baked apple tart left for us, which was a nice surprise! The cottage is a lovely old cottage. The kitchen is fully equipped and easy to cook in or just sit and stare out at the beautiful view. The sitting room is comfortable with a couch and armchairs and fireplace, where guests can light fires, which we did on two nights. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and the beds are very comfortable. The sheets and bed clothes were beautifully clean and crisp and very cosy. The bathroom is very modern. There's a lovely large shower that, although not a power shower, had a very good flow and easy to adjust temperature. Overall there was nothing that I would complain about as everuthingbwas honour satisfaction. Agnes offered us an extra night as her next guests weren't arriving for a couple of days, unfortunately we couldn't avail! Would definitely consider staying at Katie's Cottage again!

Located at the edge of a working dairy farm, Hazel Cottage is a peaceful, luxurious haven for guests seeking an authentic Irish experience. Extras include infrared sauna, steam shower, jacuzzi bath, wood stove, home made scones & the famous Irish welcome.
Unique and historic Irish cottage. Luxurious details - infrared sauna, steam shower, jacuzzi, pool room. Easy access to the best that South - West Ireland has to offer. Warm, friendly welcome. Opportunity to meet with artisanal cheese maker Jim O'Brien and sample products. Absolute privacy. Property is surrounded by meadows yet the O'Brien family reside within half mile of Hazel Cottage.
A truly authentic setting, Ballyhahill offers an opportunity to interact and engage with warm Irish neighbors, far from the tourist droves. The village, withing 3 mins drive, has a small grocery store and a little pub (with great Guinness!) while restaurants and supermarkets can be found in Listowel (20 mins drive) and NewCastle West (15 mins.) Cheese can be purchased from the O Brien farm.
  • Maria is the most welcoming host, we had such a wonderful time staying at Hazel Cottage. The house is a great base to relax in and the surrounding area is beautiful. We visited James and Maria's cheese farm, the cheese is absolutely delicious! We were visiting for a wedding in Glin but we also had a day trip to Ballybunion which has lovely beaches. Having never visited Ireland before we were stunned by how friendly and generous local people are. Hazel cottage is beautifully presented and furnished, and cleaned to a very high standard.

    Jenny2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hazel Cottage is the most idyllic location that you can imagine. Every morning just waking up and looking at the windows at the flowers and the horses across the driveway made us all smile. I went with my teenage children and they loved it as well. My 14 year old son was very interested in the cows and Maria was generous enough to let us come up and see them being milked and her son even let him help out :) The cottage is clean and has everything you need. The beds are comfy as is the bedding. Maria is a wonderful host and was happy to be of help when needed. She made several suggestions on places to go that we all loved. We were greeted upon arrival with scones and a tea set up that made all the travel woes of flying wash away. We can not wait to go back again!! I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Western Ireland looking for a peaceful location within easy reach of a few restaurants and stores, although you would never know it was near anything once you get there.

    Amanda2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Maria could not have been more helpful or welcoming. Hazel Cottage is the perfect place for a family to stay in the countryside of Ireland.

    Sue2016-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Maria met us at the house when we arrived and was very helpful in pointing out how to operate all the devices and systems in the home. The scones were great and the home was very comfortable. There is Wi-Fi access which works best near the router. We also took advantage of the invitation to visit the farm - our four year old daughter wanted to milk a cow. It was a very memorable experience, and we sampled some of their cheese also which was very tasty.

    Karla2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough good things about our stay here. I was traveling with five other people (family and friends). We arrived to a clean house with homemade scones waiting for us which were delicious! The house was quite spacious and held all six of us comfortably, we loved gathering in the living room in the evenings and working on crossword puzzles in a book left for visitors. The town is nearby but the actual house and property surrounding it is private. We made day trips and had James and Maria's house as our base. We had a day in Cork with Blarney Castle, a day at the Cliffs of Moher, and our final day was spent in Adare upon Maria's suggestion and we all had a wonderful time. We would love to come back again!

  • This cottage was a perfect place for our girls trip to Ireland! It is located in the quiet countryside and it was nice to unplug and unwind but is near the airport and within a 1-2 hour drive in any direction there is plenty to do and see as far as Irish history and culture. The cottage offered everything we needed for the week and then some, all we needed to do was pick up a few groceries, everything else was covered. Would love to come back and stay again and explore even more around the area! Jim & Maria were amazing hosts!

    Laura2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • We just got back from our 4 night stay at Hazel Cottage. The cottage was great, plenty space for the 6 of us, well equipped kitchen and cosy dining room and lounge to keep us all comfortable. The cottage is well placed to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside - Killarney National Park, the Dingle Peninsula and the Cliffs of Moher were all within reach and well worth a visit. What really made the trip though was the warm welcome and generous hospitality we were so grateful to receive from Maria, Jim and family. From start to finish, they made sure we felt welcome and had all we needed. Our last morning in Ireland was spent with them showing us their fantastic farm and cheese business and treating us to even more of their wonderful hospitality. Thank you again Maria, Jim and family for making our trip extra special.

  • Very nice place to stay. It was very clean and big enough for me and my familly (5 in total). It's just few minutes drive to the ferry. In the house there were some tea, coffe, milk, cereals, bread and juice; those small little thinks that help you to save time to take the ferry or continue your trip early on the morning in case you forgot to buy something the day before. Thank you Fiona once more!

    Pablo2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona was very kind and helpful. The whole family accepted our stay and helped us in need. Fiona's husband was friendly and allowed to see his farm. We had everything needed in the house to stay with our children. The house was warm and heater can be used when required. The front garden and back garden was beautifully maintained. The view from their back garden is amazing even we could do barbecue in the back garden as the place had all facilities for that. Certainly we will plan next trip with this plan as well because the view from their backside of the house itself is beautiful as shown in the picture.

You’ll love our place because of the views, the privacy, & the tranquility. This location is ideal for a variety of guests including families, adventurers & golfers.Hiking, horseback riding, golfing (Doonbeg, Lahinch & Dromoland), fishing, surfing, etc. are no more than a 30 min car ride.Popular sites like The Cliffs of Moher,Bunratty Castle,The Burren, The Dolmens,Loop Head,Aillwee Cave, & Doolin are a day trip. The Shannon Ferry is a 20 min drive allowing quick access to the beautiful Co. Kerry.
Make this your home away from home in beautiful Co. Clare. I built this house in 2009 on my family farm. The house is built on the top of a hill overlooking a valley, maximizing the beautiful views of the area. From the front of the house you can see a medieval ring fort. The back of the house overlooks a valley and a forest, which is what this property is named after. This forest was actually planted by me and my father 25 years ago. I would never have imagined that I would someday build a home allowing me to remember that stage of my life so vividly. The house is heated by oil, which will be provided as needed. Solar panels on the roof of the home provide constant hot water. The home is equipped with modern appliances including an American sized refrigerator, a 5 burner stove, a double oven and a microwave. A washer and dryer are also available for guest use on the 1st floor. There is also a back deck that runs the length of the house. The deck provides outdoor seating for guests to enjoy the scenery. The three quarter acre site is surrounded by a fence.
  • We highly recommend Patrick's place. It is a lovely home with all the amenities plus a working fireplace. The scenery is breathtaking and nature is at it's best here(the nightly march of the cows through the back pasture is so much fun and the night sky is amazing!). It is a great value and Patrick's parents are wonderful hosts. It is very rural so you must be prepared to drive and experience the roads of Ireland but it is well worth the effort. Book It!

  • My family and I (6) stayed for a night in this beautiful home with maybe an even more amazing location. If you like being out in the country this is the perfect spot! The biggest issues I had was I couldn't stay longer to enjoy the walks, the views, the home baked bread and biscuits (best ever!!) and the peacefulness on the back porch. Our hosts are honestly some of the nicest folks we have ever met! I would highly recommend staying.

  • It was so easy to communicate with Patrick, his responses were timely and helpful! We met Patrick's father, Dan, in Cooraclare. He showed us the way to the house, and upon arrival showed us all around the house. He told and showed us how to use everything in the house, and a little bit about the surrounding land and close-by areas in Clare. He was happy to help with anything and everything at a minute's notice, making sure we had no issues and had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay! We arrived to a fire lit in the living room; and bread, scones, milk and food for a fry-up all ready and waiting for us! The house is beautiful, and well equipped. It is spacious, and modern. We all agreed that the pictures had not done it justice! We lit a fire each evening which made the house very cosy - there was no need to turn on the heating because the house is well insulated and kept in the warmth from the fire so well. There was also ample amounts of hot water as it is heated by solar panels. The scenic views from all angles were beautiful. There is plenty of space and grass in the front garden; and lovely decking with a table and three chairs, as well as a barbecue, in the back garden. All four of us that stayed would highly recommend Patrick's house. The house is beautiful, and the surrounding area is scenic and peaceful. We all agreed that we would have happily stayed longer - three nights didn't feel like long enough!

  • Patricks Place is amazingly beautiful. The scenery around is spectacular. We really enjoyed our stay in his house

    Elsie2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Patricks home was a wonderful stop on our tour of Ireland. It is central to many small towns like Killrush and Cooraclare and is within a short drive of Limerick and the Rock of Cashel. It is nestled in a quiet, rural area and has beautiful views. The spaces are large and open and would be great for a large family. Patricks father Dan was a wonderful host and made sure everything was working before he left.

    Steven2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this home!!! Stayed in August with 5 adult family members (6 of us in total) and we had more than enough room. Super clean and tidy. Comfy beds, beautiful cozy fireplace and AMAZING views of beautiful West Clare. :) Patrick's parents checked us in and were more than generous with us and lovely, lovely people. We truly felt at home. A great location as well - perfect for day-trips to Kilkee, Loop Head, Lahinch, Cliffs of Moher, etc - and we even did up to Galway and back for a day of shopping. Opportunities for horseback riding right down the road and had a few great nights at authentic, local irish pubs in Cooraclare, Cree and Dunbeg. All around a great trip and a lovely home. Thank you so much Patrick and family! We'll be back. :)

Modern townhouse in quiet village in west Clare. Very cosy dwelling, tastefully decorated and suitable for all holiday makers. Simply a great location, with easy access to the Wild Atlantic way, beaches, Doonbeg Golf course, The Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, Aillwee Cave and much more.
  • We enjoyed our stay at Anne's place. It's a lovely townhouse, well equipped and very comfortable, with plenty of space for our group. The village is quite lively at night, and very friendly. Anne was super helpful in finding us a restaurant with vegetarian options and her communication throughout our stay was great!

    Melissa2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Anne was a great host, she came promptly when we arrived to deliver the keys in only 2 minutes. The house has been excellently refurbished and it is very warm. Everything was incredibly clean and new. Unfortunately we could only spent one night there! I would repeat if I visit the area in the future.

    Joan Jordi2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing Airbnb, Anne is lovely, the house is huge, modern, clean and very comfortable, there's shops and a very nice pub nearby as well, I recommend it 100%! Thank you again Anne!

  • We stayed for one night on our way to cliff of Moher. Loved our stay, Ann is a great host. The only thing missing is wifi, soon to come.

  • What a wonderful location! Friends and I were meeting up for a few days to discover the Burren, seaside, and Cliffs of Moher. We really enjoyed this place - definitely on my top list of AirBnB experiences, all new appliances, very well situated, extremely clean place and a lovely home. Just right for the three of us. Thanks Anne!!

    Amanda2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Anne's place was great! The area is quaint and has a few pubs around. The supermarket is down the street. The location is great for a stop on a road trip.

  • After a long day of travelling, we arrived in Kilmihil fairly tired and ready for a rest. Anne met us at the house and showed us round, and also showed us the essentials in the house such as fresh milk in the fridge and offer of cereals. The house was lovely and clean and the location was central in the village. Would highly recommend and would seek to stay again if we're ever in this part of the world again.

  • Fred was very sweet and helped us in from the rain with our late arrival. And his wife's bar next door is a true local experience with a tasty sandwich and the sweetest people. When I had a hard time finding the place in the dark (my own fault) the townspeople were very helpful, it was a true small town experience

    Krisan2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Frederick was a VERY welcoming host. We arrived to his property late because we flew into Shannon in the evening on Friday, but he was ready for us when we arrived around 10:30pm. The house was even better than the pictures! Very cosy, clean and close to shops/pubs. The beds were so comfortable, and he had every appliance you could ever need to cook/clean, etc. We wish we could have stayed longer!! Loved it! (Fredrick was very friendly as well :))

    Rebecca2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely house, larger than it appears in the photographs. Much of the charm of the original cottage has been preserved in its refurbishment by including details like panelled doors, crackle-glaze handles and sash windows, alongside sympathetic modern touches, particularly in the bathroom and kitchen. The master bedroom was very comfortable for our stay. The house is within 20 minutes of beautiful beaches, cliffs, lovely villages, and good dining. A great find in this part of Co. Clare!

    Aoife2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Fred is unobtrusive host. You can get everything from him, he doesn't demand anything from you. Apartment is new, really new. All equipment is inside. I can try to find something miss and i could not. Two nice bedrooms, new kitchen, two bathroms, living room, new big screen tv. Nice village on the way to clifs of moher. 1 hour of driving. Car parking is in front of the house. Very good choice if you have your own car. Fred, thanks.

    edvin2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fred's condo is a wonderful and inviting place in the small village of Kilmihil. The best aspects of the condo are its cleanliness, very well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. Fred was a welcoming host who showed great flexibility with our several targeted arrival times due to transportation issues. When we finally arrived at 11 pm, Fred greeted us with a warm welcome and a warmer pizza because he knew we'd be hungry after a full day of travel! The kitchen, like the whole place, was fresh and clean with a few welcome supplies. The bedrooms upstairs featured very comfortable beds and a washer and dryer and a modern bathroom with a fair sized shower with plenty of hot water. Rooms were well lit by artificial and natural light. Heating was good and the water had some chlorine smell but the provided water pitcher with filter made the two water entirely drinkable. Our only issues with the condo: The wi-fi service was spotty, speed was adequate but connection to the internet was occasionally dicey; the village is small and without restaurants. There is a single takeaway that is only open in the evening and two grocery stores with sandwich deli's. We were aware of the distance from larger cities and that there is a bus stop right outside the condo. What we didn't know is that there are only two buses on Monday-Saturday and no buses on Sunday. Also we had heard that public transport in Ireland is expensive but we we surprised how expensive the trip to the city of Ennis

    Will2016-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Frederick and his wife are very friendly people. Despite we arrived late in the evening, we had a warm welcome. The house looked new and is recently completely renovated. Nice kitchen, bathroom and toilets. Parking is directly in front of the house. For questions and help, Frederick is lives2 doors further in the street. Kilmihil is a very small village without restaurant or bar. For that you need to drive to Killrush 16 km. You need a car but then you a close to wonderful places like Kilkee, Killrush or Enish.

    Frank2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Frederick was very available if you needed assistance. Check in and check out was easy. Listing was very accurate. House was beautifully finished, very high standard. It was spacious enough for a family of four and very well appointed. Would definitely stay again and have recommended it.

    Louise2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really nice and new inside. The kitchen is fully equipped, same as toilets and living room, where you can find a nice flat screen with multiple channel choice. The bedrooms are really comfortable and warm - the house temperature can be easily adjusted from the kitchen and the water is always hot (no waiting time). Fred has been very helpful and kind with us, I totally recommend staying in this place.

Essentials provided, great power shower, and blackout blinds. A car is a necessity and SatNav highly recommended. Thanks a lot to Renae for a lovely stay.

  • Lovely rustic charm! Even Better than what I was expecting. It is truly a charming country home. Wisteria and climbing roses ... Ahhhh. Amanda treated my daughter and I to home made bread and smoothies for breakfast and then helped us plan our days. Her home is the perfect hub for several day trips in the area. The kitchen is huge /open eat in kitchen and although in not a big animal fan the pups make good company there as they are cute , friendly and Quiet! Our room was crisp / clean and so peaceful. The two single beds can easily be connected for a king size bed if preferred. Amanda is a natural at this B & B gig. Highly recommend it!

  • Amanda's place was an awesome location with lots of animals. All of her dogs were very friendly! The room was very nice and the bathroom was nice. I got to take a comfortable and relaxing bath :) She was very accommodating to make breakfast for my dad because he took a while doing laundry at the laundromat in the morning. She was flexible with the checkout time. She cleared space in her shed for us to park our motorcycles. She had great recommendations and suggestions for places for us to go to. She sent us to a restaurant where her son worked and the food was excellent! She was a very personable host. We enjoyed our stay very much. I would suggest following her directions precisely because you cannot see her house from the road. Thank you Amanda!

  • Amanda and her family were very welcoming. I was immediately impressed with their hospitality and every effort to help me navigate country roads and day trips. • Evelyn was very professional to deal with during booking process and supplying all information required. House is fully equipped to suit a large family and huge supply of kitchen utensils was available. Rooms very spacious. I would advise Evelyn to take more pictures of the house as the current pictures don't do the house justice. The house is comfortable and decorated to a modern standard. We had a lovel BBQ one of the nights. My only negatives, is the fridge didn't seem to work properly and it found very hard to get cold even on the last setting. The house was very clean on arrival but dust in hidden areas such as under beds where noticed in many of the bedrooms. I would return to this property without hesitation. It truely is a beautiful home and location right in the village is very ideal. Not far from many of the local attractions either. Most defined scones and bread are such a lovely gesture on arrival.

    Louise2017-08-12T00:00:00Z

  • This property is great. We traveled with 8 children and the house suited us perfectly. The property has four large rooms, all en suite with TV. There are two sitting areas and two dining areas which gave us loads of space to relax and enjoy our visit. The children also enjoyed the large garden in the evenings to play. There is a shop right across the road for any forgotten items and plenty of cutlery, plates and pots!! Kilmihil is an excellent location for discovering Co. Clare. Evelyn was an excellent host and clearly takes great pride in her property. The little touches like soap and shampoo, fluffy towels and homemade scones on arrival were lovely.
