Vacation Rentals in Las Palmas

Just booked in Las Palmas

The Finca on 600 m is situated alone in the mountains, 8 km from the beach and 2 km from the village. The access is a dirt road of 350 m which might be difficult for some drivers, but you can leave the car at the entrance and we transport the luggage. Enjoy nature and silence! We grow fruit trees and herbs for our own consumption, all organic and produce our energy with sun and wind. We´ve got our own freshwater spring so you don`t need to buy bottled water. We sell eggs from our happy hens.
The Apartment has a nice bedroom with a 1,60m bed and a quality latex matress. Large windows and a corner to sit and read, play, talk makes it an extra living room. A few stairs up you will find a bathrooom with an extra bidet and a spatious shower. Next door is the living room with an well equiped open kitchen, another bed/sofa of optional 1,40m and a chimney. Two doors open into the garden, and a terrace with a bench and a big table invites to live outside. Another sun-terrace with ocean views is nearby. All furniture is handmade of solid wood. The place is perfect for one or two couples or a family or other four people who do not mind sleeping in one bed. We have got an additional matress for one person to put on the floor if anybody prefers to sleep alone. And we have got a wooden baby bed.
Tasarte is a small village along the road to the beach. The trip down to the beach takes about 20 min by car. There is a pharmacy, a bakery and a supermarket. There are Fincas with tomatoes, mangos, bananas, papayas and also people who keep goats, so you may buy cheese directly from the producer. At the stony beach with view to Tenerife and the Teide you find only one restaurant with simple, but tasty seafood which closes in the late afternoon. When there are waves you should be a good swimmer. Playa Mogán with its big marina, sandy beach and lots of shops and restaurants is to reach in 30-40 minutes by car or by bus. There a beaches as well in the neighbor valley of Veneguera and in La Aldea.
  • Toledo finca is the personification of idyllic - a paradise away from the tourists in GC. Mike and Susanne were both incredibly welcoming, from start to finish. Not to be missed!!!

  • This definitely has to be one of the best places here on Air BnB. It's truly a great find. The location is perfect, away from the mayhem of the 'touristy' beaches, up on the cool breezy mountains, surrounded by palm trees, overlooking the mountain valley and ocean. It's the ideal location if you are looking to get away from it all, relax in the sun and go for great walks in the mountains. The view from the room is incredible. The house is well designed and feels very authentic to the landscape and culture. My whole stay was very comfortable. The swimming pool was the perfect way to cool down especially after baking in the hot sun. Susanne and Mike were awesome hosts. They were definitely part of what made my trip so memorable. They have so much insight into the island having lived there for so long. They took the time to show me their amazing fruit and vegetable garden, and also to take me on a hike in the mountains, pointing all the wild fruit trees along the way. They are extremely kind and most of all, fun and full of life. Definitely share a meal and a bottle (or two) of wine with them.

  • It has been an amazing holiday, a peaceful retreat surrounded by the mountains, but anyway 20 minutes of car from the sea. Suzanne is an amazing host she made us feel really welcome from the very first moment! The house is beautiful, and there's a lot of privacy. I suggest Finca Toledo to everyone, mostly to people who want to switch off from a busy and stressful life in the city. Thank you Suzanne!

  • You've got this far and you're still unsure? Let us reassure you that if you are searching for something special then you need to look no further. Mike & Susanne have created a truly beautiful, cozy retreat in complete harmony with the surrounding countryside. A thriving garden, a well-equippped and comfortable apartment, stunning views of the mountains and and the valley stretching below, welcoming but non-overbearing hosts combine to make this place an unforgettable experience. It is an oasis for the senses and the soul.

  • Gorgeous location with splendid view. Friendly and hospitable owners. We were treated with homemade lemon curd and homegrown fruit which were delicious!

  • It's an Amazing apartment where to stay for relaxing in the countryside. Thanks again to Susanne and Michael for their warm welcome and kind attention.

  • This place is an absolute gem! Susanne and Mike are the perfect hosts. They had good tips on what the island has to offer and were very helpful if there were anything we asked for. The surroundings are very beautiful. We recommend this place for an alternative view of Gran Canaria.

  • Finca Toledo is a little paradise. It has great views, surranding nature and great design. The view from the swimming pool over the Tasarte valley is something you will remember to the end of your life. Susanne and Mike are great hosts which make you feel like in your home, slowly introducing you in the surrounding world. Do not forget to ask Susanne to prepare a dinner for you or try her lemon jam - Susanne is a very good cook. If you want to spend some time away from noisy tourist destinations and really rest Finca Toledo will be a perfect choice.

  • The very clean and modern apartment is centrally located opposite of a supermarket. Leticia is a nice host who has always responded very quickly.

    Antonio2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is much bigger than it seems from the pictures, everything is brand new and the hosts are delightful people. We were surprised to find a blender, a nespresso machine, a basket of fresh fruits and many more details that made our permanence very pleasant and we got spoiled. In addition the apartment has a shared terrace on the rooftop which is brilliant for sunbathing and eating meals at the open air. The wifi connection was fast and reliable, and we could watch the football matches on the TV. Highly reccomended, you won't be disappointed, and be sure to ask Leticia for some suggetions and local tips on places to visit.

Away of tourists, I would do your stay so perfect as possible. The house is equipped with everything you would need and barbecue. I would suggest about the island, places to eat, location central. You would love the Beach, Mountain, Nature, Incredible Panorama, Relax, disconnection, hiking, Ethnography, Culture, Restaurants. It is fantastic for groups, families, ppl. Alone or in any group of more than 10 ppl available in the same comfort building. Also single apartments, ask for info please.
Away of the mass Tourism. The house is comfortable and clean but not a Luxury House. More intended for enjoying the outside nature. WIFI top speed and all services.
Supermarket very close, town center nearby. Restaurants nearby. You can stay and taste calmly before making the way back the traditional dishes of the area, such as the octopus stew known as ropa-vieja de pulpo or the delicious local artisanal cheese. By visiting the El Roque Eco touristic Marine Micro Area, located also in the village, you will learn everything about the sea biodiversity in the area and maybe will feel encouraged to take part in some of the seawater friendly activities they organize. You can enjoy being in a Tropical Valley where they grow lot of wonderful, delicious vegetables and fruits like Banana, Mango, Papaya, Avocado, Passiflora Maracuya, Mispel, Guava, Cactus fruits, tomatos and so on.
  • The flat is confy and with 2 bedroom. Could have more sofas to rest after the big routes you can enjoy there but who want to be in the home when you are surrounded by a paradise of mountains, secret beach, traditional bar like the bar Severo in los caserones Village with amazing fresh fish, traditional Canarian recipes and big jar of refreshing vino tinto at a wonderful price. 8 euros 2 dishes, dessert and a drink! Included beer. As a bakery mention the Panaldea close to the center with homemade bakery and free coffe! You have supermarket and pharmacy really close Warning there is a bar after panaldea with picture of hotdogs and other fast food picture don't go to eat there! Expensive and really low quality, we went there cause is the first one we meet and completely frustrating experience. We enjoy the routes in bike and do walking in the area a must see is the "balcon" wonderfully place. In los caserones you have a 3 routes ending in a small lovely beach. There you have aswell a very high difficult route with 12km going to guigui beautiful secret beach you will have to rise 3 mountain the highest with 750 m. No need of climb just walk but no recommended is lazy or vertigo apply to yourself but indeed worth the effort and there is some house of lovely people living in the middle of the mountain and beautiful views. You can reach this aswell from Tasartico village 2 euros the bus and the bus top is just at 20 m. of you door. In tasartico beach is a man fishing and cooking the fish for you and all a experience to meet real food. Enjoy!

  • Emilio is a great host, and responded quickly to querstions and suggestions via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) (suggest you get a local sim). quiet area which is what i was looking for. no foreign tourists at all, all spannish tourists, which adds to the charm of the place. place a great for hiking, local beach is great with some excellent places to eat, just need to work out when they are actually open!! good kitchen and bathroom with shower and hot water. wifi was excellent. you will need a car as it is secluded. i will def be back, i love La Aldea!!

  • If you are looking for a picturesque stay in the beautiful mountains surrounding by jaw dropping views then this is definitely the place for you! My partner and I stayed in Nahums apartment for 9 nights and it was fantastic. Location If you are going to stay here I would highly recommend hiring a car, I cant imagine we would have had the same experiences without our Seat Ibiza which was only around 6 euros per day. The location is in the little town of La Aldea de San Nicolas, it is around a 40/50 min drive to the next beautiful town Puerto de Mogán with and about an hour to Puerto Rico/Maspalomas with the sand beaches. The roads are new and smooth however they are bendy and sharp through the mountains. The drive in the morning and in the evenings didn't bother us in the slightest as we are adventure go-ers and love the scenery of travelling through the mountains. Apartment Upon arriving the apartment was exactly as it seems in the pictures. Extremely clean and tidy, fresh towels and bedding out. Roberto is Nahums Father and it was he who he dealt with. As I am vegan it proved somewhat difficult to find food however Roberto ensured there was fruit and soya milk awaiting my arrival. The apartment itself is situated right in the centre of the square, it is above lovely little cafe's and bars. A shisha bar with fantastic cocktails and fabulous staff who really go out their way to make you feel at home. I feel it is important to note however that the apartment is located beside the church and the church bells go off every hour from 7am - 11pm. We weren't aware of this at the time of booking but to be honest we were out the village most of the day and it was actually a reliable alarm clock in the mornings. Roberto was at the other end of the phone for any queries we had about the apartment and was extremely attentive in ensuring we were comfortable. Roberto I want to take a couple of sentences just to emphasise how much our stay was enhanced by Nahum's Father, he made us feel very welcome and stocked the fridge and cupboards for us. The language barrier wasn't a problem in the slightest as Roberto is so friendly and approachable, he offered to show us around the village whenever we fancied and we gladly took him up on his offer. He drove us in his car to beautiful view points, gave us a tour and some history of the town before taking us on a private tour of the Tomato Vineyards which we were lucky to leave with 7k of fresh tomato's! All of the people in these areas were welcoming and friendly and they are what made it so special.

  • We had an amazing stay at Jarmila's paradise in the mountains. Everything was very clean and the host was very responsive and helpful:) Her husband even picked us up from the bus station, helped us with our bags and brought us to the spar to get groceries and had left a nice bottle of red for us! I would love to stay here again! Only thing I wish I had was a car as the mountain with groceries is a trek butttt does the body good.

    Ariel2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place, Jarmila was very warm and helpful; she responded to our questions quickly. Away from the crowds and a great starting point for hikes. The local beach was quiet and great for swimming. There's not lots going on in the town at all - it's a bit run down and boring - but Jarmila's house itself is a lovely oasis of calm. Thanks for having us and for the lovely bottle of wine!

Beautiful wooden house located in La Aldea de San Nicolás, the farthest from the capital town. It highlights the solarium and a wonderful artisan sauna for your relaxation and physical and emotional cleansing. An example of creativity and good taste. Five minutes from the beach and in the middle of several natural parks. You'll lose quietly on roads where the magic of nature. It can be rented for private rooms (18 €) at: Tila's house - Double room
This house is built of timber on the patio accompanying the Tila House (eighteenth century). In this process of adventure with me my niece Angelina will be the person in charge of making second host. She gladly provide guests to rest their bodies and souls to return home and recharged with vitality and energy.
Agricultural reserve scenic area, has the privilege of being surrounded by protected territory: The Rural Park Nublo, Tamadaba Natural Park, the Inagua Integral Nature Reserve and Special Nature Reserve Gui-Gui. This means that 85% of the municipality is considered protected area. Another attraction are the festivals in honor of its patron St. Nicholas of Tolentino between 9 and 11 September. These parties are popular to preserve the old aboriginal traditions. The village has a supply route living museums that you can not lose, the result of a community development project. Another attraction is its cuisine which highlights its artisanal fisheries and local produce (tomatoes, bananas, papayas ...)
  • Our stay in Aldea de San Nicholas was very nice. Angelina is a nice housekeeper and helps out when you need something. She speaks only Spanish, but it was no problem to communicate with her. The house is very big and there is place for 8 people. The only noisy thing is the main road in front of the house. In the night it's calm, but during the day you can here the cars on the terrace or even in the bedroom. The area is very nice to stay and you have a small supermarket in short distance. The Beach is in a distance of 30 minutes by walk or 10 minutes by car. The local guys, the mountains and the small port, make the place very special.

  • Adalia's house is clean and comfortable, but the street traffic is a bit noisy at times. And the restaurant offering in the area is deceiving. Be ready to use your car, btw the surrounding roads are grandioses.

Apartment located about 300 meters from the coast. Welcoming and very friendly service with the hosts. The village is located west of the island of Gran Canaria. Ideal for relaxing, hiking, etc. One of its attractions would visit Guigui

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Martins flat - nothing to complain about :-)

    Markus2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Martin is a great host! We didn't get to meet him in person, but he always replied instantly. We had a short power outage once and after we sent a message to Martin, his brother appeared within minutes and saved our day! Martin's mother also picked us up in La Aldea and helped us with grocery shopping, she is lovely too! The apartment is located in a house close to Playa de La Aldea. It's very close to the street so it can sometimes be a bit noisy, be we didn't mind. The place is super clean! If you don't have a car to drive around you can do a few hikes in the area. It is also possibly to get there by bus, which works well. Generally I would still recommend to have a car if you stay there, since there's not much to do around La Aldea, but it's a very authentic little village. We had a lovely time here. Thank you Martin for being a great host!

  • Martin's place is a nice place next to a stone beach, where you can watch the sunset. Martins mum, who lives in the same house, is lovely but she just speaks Spanish, so be prepared for the communication :-) All communication with Martin happened through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and he replied nearly instantly and proposed many things to do in the area.

Newly renovated country house with a garden, located near the nature reserve Gui Gui and its location is the gateway to the surrounding exotic, subtropical nature. There are also many hiking paths. The beach is 3 km and the town center is 2 km away.
Casa Rural Cuermeja is a traditional Canarian-style country house. Accommodation is located in subtropical countryside near the town of Aldea de San Nicolas, which lies in the fertile green valleys and gorges interwoven surrounded by plantations where tomatoes are grown, bananas, mangoes, avocados and other fruits. The town has its own beach and a small harbor and a unique underwater reserve where you can snorkel. Aldea rises above the mighty mountains national park Tamadaba progressing to the highest village (1250 M. N.) on the island - Artenara, next to it, then lovely mountain village of Tejeda and the symbol of Gran Canaria Roque Nublo.
A tour through the municipality of La Aldea de San Nicolás gives the visitor a chance to appreciate the popular Canarian architecture in the old quarter of the town such as the houses of stone and mud from the 17th and 18th centuries, and the houses with balconies from the 18th century. Examples of these are the Casa del Balcón, the first house in the town centre, Casas Blancas and the Casa del Corredor, which is in the Tocodomán quarter. The natural surroundings of the municipality are exceptional and there is a range of routes and paths, along which the scenic beauty of the west of Gran Canaria can be appreciated. Ninety per cent of the area is protected. The Parque Rural del Roque Nublo (Rural Park of the Roque Nublo) is the largest protected area on Gran Canaria, and spreads over the municipalities of Tejeda, La Aldea de San Nicolás, Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Artenara, San Mateo, Valleseco and Moya. Within this area is the symbolic Roque Nublo, a monolith which represents the island of Gran Canaria. The Parque Natural de Tamadaba (Nature Park of Tamadaba) stretches into the municipalities of Agaete, Artenara and La Aldea de San Nicolás and is one of the oldest geological formations on the island. The Reserva Natural Integral de Inagua is a pine forest which covers the old massif of the centre-west of the island, and has the most spectacular views. It belongs to the municipalities of La Aldea, Mogán and Tejeda and is a Zona de Protección Especial de Aves (Specially Protected Bird Area). Finally, the Special Nature Reserve of Güi-Güi is of great scenic value. It is covered with endemic species of vegetation and has its own special marine bird fauna. Beaches Along the 33 kilometre coastline of La Aldea de San Nicolás stony beaches alternate with small coves, large caves, sandy beaches etc. The majority of the beaches are not very frequented and are preserved almost intact in an unspoilt landscape. The most significant are the Playa de la Aldea, the most frequented as it is situated in the town itself, the beaches of Tasarte and Tasartico and most especially the beaches of Güi-Güi, which are of black sand and whose surroundings are of great natural beauty. Shopping Nowadays a new generation of painters, sculptors, photographers, writers, musicians and potters has sprung up and this has meant that the municipality is acquiring a rich cultural and craft heritage.Craftsmanship in La Aldea is widely represented through numerous families who combine work on the land with a small craft production for themselves and for the island market. Therefore, most of the crafts fall within the category of basket and palm ware for the making of hats, baskets, matting etc.The visitor may go to the Aula Etnográfica where many local craftsmen gather to do their work. There you can buy locally made food products or crafts. You can also buy crafts in Cactualdea. Gastronomy The typical food of La Aldea is both delicious and varied. The best is fresh fish and shellfish, meat, caldo de pescado (a kind of fish stew), boiled mojo made from electric eels, vegetable stews etc. Special mention must be given to a dish invented in the municipality, namely Ropa Vieja de Pulpo (a typical dish of chick peas and octopus instead of chicken). There are plenty of tropical fruits such as Canary bananas, papayas, mangoes, guava and avocadoes. Homemade jams of tomatoes, papaya, mango and prickly pears are delicious as are the local sweets based on these fruits, as well as cakes and mantecados (traditional sweets made mainly from lard).
  • This was wonderful place to stay. If you love a rural setting, striking mountain vistas and easy access to hiking paths and all a short drive from a harbour and beach them book here. Our host was generous and welcoming offering us use of his own BBQ facilities next to the small pool near the house.

  • Beautiful house with magnificient views over the mountains and sunrise/sunset. Very kind people that love to help you with anything. Surprising swimmingpool with mountainview. Overall beautifull, quiet, rustique place which is really good value for money. Wil, Helena and Lauren

  • Had a really nice stay here! Cornelio was a great host and very friendly. The location is a quiet and peaceful one although the Cockerill's do crow early in the morning, this did not disturb me or my daughter. The private pool is lovely and only a short scenic stroll from the apartment. I would happily stay here again and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants peace, quiet and enjoys staying a little of the beaten track.

  • We had a lovely stay at Tia Dominga. The house if beautiful, well equipped and spotlessly clean, the surroundings are peaceful and beautiful, with everything we needed close by. Cornelio is an excellent host, very helpful and attentive. We would gladly stay again.

  • The cottage is in a lovely, quiet rural location. The views over the mountains are amazing. The cottage has a large and comfortable bedroom, an open plan kitchen, dining room and sitting room and a large bathroom. The whole house is very well decorated with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen has everything you need to make a good meal, a TV if you want one with channels in different languages, wifi and information on the local area. The cottage is attached to the family farmhouse, but is arranged in a way that it is completely private with its own courtyard with sun loungers and outside dining area. The house is very well decorated and furnished well. It is in a traditional Canary style with lots of original features. The pool is one of the best features. It is slight away from both the cottage and the family farm house, but only a few minutes walk. Once there you have a private pool that is completely secluded with amazing views over the mountains. At the end of the road you can drive left to the beach area which has some restaurants and driving right takes you to the town. The area is much more traditional than the tourist areas elsewhere on the island. Cornelio is the best host we have ever had on airbnb. He is very welcoming and friendly. He spent time showing us his farm, the pool etc. He gave us complete privacy but also was very helpful to give us recommendations on beaches and where to go. He's great!

  • Casa Tia Dominga is an excellent place to stay! We felt welcome from the very beginning and enjoyed relaxing evening in the beautifully equipped house after eventful days mainly in the northern parts of Gran Canaria. Casa Tia Dominga is located a little bit outside of Aldea de San Nicolas on a hill providing an overview of the whole valley of Aldea and when looking to the east Roque Nublo and Roque Bentaygy are visible. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the casa and want to thank Cornelio a lot for the pleasant stay

    Josef2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cornelio and his wife worked very hard to make a very decent appartment. We were his first guests. The place is in Aldea de San Nicholas which is not your fancy beach town like in the east and south of GC. But its location just outside of this town makes it special. At night it is pitch dark and at the table where Cornelio and his wife sit on their picture, it is lovely with a wine. In the morning no city sounds, but dogs and cocks and the sheep from down in the valley. Cornelio offered us goat cheese and farm eggs from his valley. This place is not for partygoers in Playa Inglés, but for people who completely want to destress. Don't forget the pool just 200 meters walking to the corner of the valley. An amazing experience swimming and overseeing the cactus mountains around. You definetely need a car, without it you will not reach Aldea except for a bus line. Also you need somd courage to drive thereto on the curvy roads up the mountains. Stop at Mogan and two or three small restaurants and juicebars to enjoy the mountain views and quietness. The appartment had no flaws and is indeed one of the oldest small houses in the neighbourhood once belonging to greatgrandfathers of Cornelio. There was well working internet and satelite tv, even a washing machine. Supermarkt on the main road, maybe 6 minutes further with everything. There is a local beach, we have not really been there. I recomment Playa Sardina which is a beatiful trip by car, an hour further. Stop at El Risco for a walk to a lake and waterfall. At Agaete you can take a boat to Tenerife, eat fish at the harbour or go to the.botanical garden. Go if you want to relax in a very quiet and beautiful mountain environment plus: do it! YOu will see a different GC, far away from the very slick tourist industry. Using GPS, ask Cornelio for the official adress. It way deeper by car than GPS knows. But still easy to find.

Calidad precio, recomendable!

My house is 5 minutes walk from town where you will find all services pharmacy health center restaurants taxis church, etc. Also you have the beach 5 kilometers in flat terrain, so you can walk, car, bus or taxi (taxi service is pretty cheap).
ideal place to rest. About 500 meters (6 minute walk) from the town center.
There are very few neighbors near the house. Very good people. Accommodating for whatever it takes. In the village include restaurants apart from visiting museums and the Monastery (breakfast and drinks) with a friendly atmosphere.
  • A nice place to stay for a couple of days, preferably in warm weather. We visited in February and it felt a little damp after a rainy day. Otherwise the house was very clean and ordenate, and cute. The fridge was stucked with goods - such a nice gesture from the host! I am not very sure about the location - this belongs on what you are about to do in Gran Canaria. We were looking for the sun and warm, so we went to the southern playas, but this meant we had to drive the curvy mountain road one hour forward and one hour back to the southern part of the island. Aldea also has a beach, which is easily reachable by car, but in February some major repairs were going on and it seemed out of use. Otherwise the seaside looked nice with a bunch of restaurants. The Aldea itself did not leave much impression. This is an agricultural area, surrounded with warmhouses, sometimes not very picturesque.

The house is 4 Km from Tasartico's beach and 1 Km from the path that leads to Special Natural Reserve of GuiGui (Guguy), where we'll find one of the few virgin beaches of the Canary Islands. The path that goes up to Inagua's pine forest is 6 Km away. Cactualdea Park is 11 km away.
It’s a very pleasant and luminous house, with relax area and solarium in the flat roof. It’s located in Tasartico ravine, inside the Nublo Rural Park. Very quiet place, far away from urban centers and mass tourism. If you want to disconnect, this is your place. A place to rest and for nature lovers. You can go hiking, cycling, fishing, diving, canoeing… or just swimming and sunbathing on the very clear water beach.
Restaurants are in camping of Tasartico's Beach, in La Aldea de San Nicolás and in Tasarte. Are supermarkets in La Aldea de San Nicolás and Tasarte.
  • The house is located in a remote and beatiful area of the island. The host and the house itself are impeccable. I would recommend this place for families and hikers.

  • I am using Air bnb for a while now and I have never had such an amazing experience. Wauw. Javier did everything in his power to make us feel home and he succeed. First, a lovely lunch when we arrived. (fresh vegetables, chicken from the bbq and all fresh herbs) Every other day we received fresh vegetables and fruit he and his family grown their selves. He showed us around, so we could easily find the perfect spots for our photoshoot. Javier is for sure the best host we have ever had and I can tell you I have had several very nice hosts! Thank you Javier for everything. I will send you soon all the photos of our photoshoot. And will come back soon! Best wishes from Amsterdam.

  • We had an amazing 4 days at Javier's house! Javier is a true passionate host, he went above and beyond to welcome us at the airport and helped us at every step of our journey and our stay. His house was very comfortable, fully equipped, clean and the 2 of us had a lot of space - it can comfortably sleep at least 5 ppl! We absolutely loved the terrace starting each of our 4 days with breakfast there. It is about 10 mins drive to the beginning of hiking path Gui Gui and to the beach. The mountains landscape around is so beautiful! Great place to rest, restore and regenerate! Thank you so much for everything Javier, I really want to be back soon! : )

    Kasia2017-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • When we landed at the airport, Javier came to meet us and say hello. He had already sent us many pictures and a lot of information about how to get in to the house and how to make ourselves comfortable. The location of the property is a long way from other towns and amenities, so we recommend loading up on groceries from a supermarket on the way (Javier provided us with a list of stores). You don't get mobile phone coverage unless you drive a ways up out of the ravine, but the wifi works fine. We had the entire area to ourselves during the week - the other residents in the neighbouring house didn't show up until the weekend. This was ideal for us since we are both musicians and were able to play our instruments without disturbing anyone (other than the lively rooster across the road!) The house is comfortably appointed with everything you would need in the kitchen, comfortable beds, a nice bathroom and shower, and a porch and lovely roof terrace from which you can see the Atlantic, just as in the picture advertising the place. It's also a great place to do yoga and gaze at the brilliant stars at night. On the weekend, Javier and his parents were back. They treated us to numerous gifts of tomatoes, papayas, tortillas, ripe avocados straight off the tree, local cheese and honey, and other delights. Their hospitality was welcome and beautiful. You can either drive or walk down the long dirt road to Tasartico beach, and the entrance to the trail leading to GuiGui is nearby. Be prepared for a lot of wind, and it can get chilly at night. If you are looking for a place to get away from all the tourists and hear yourself think, to breathe the clean, sweet air, to reconnect with nature, then you would be happy here.

    Kristina2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a pretty spot well away from it all. The roads are very windy to get there so you'll want to get all your groceries from a main town if you can and just enjoy being close to uncrowded and untamed beaches, and of course the great access to Gui Gui. The apartment is decorated with thought and the local kittens are very friendly :) We were showered with gifts of food from the neighbours and well looked after by Javier.

    Sally2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my girlfriend enjoyed our stay in Javier's apartment very much. It's situated in a calm and remote village. You should really have a rental car to move around. The apartment was clean and comfy. Especially the kitchen was very well equipped. Javier even welcomed us with a bowl of delicious fresh fruits. On the rooftop there is a nice terrace equipped with everything you need to hang out in the sun during the day. Best regards

Casa grande, accogliente, pulita, accessoriata. Bellissimo soggiorno, torneremo!!

old house built of stone, decorated with antique furniture that provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Bedrooms with sea views. A ten minute walk to the beach and rural roads. The car comes to the door. Quiet area not isolated.
My accommodation is a unique place, because I was born in. That's why I care, pampered and preserved as a unique and special place. My wife shares with me the passion for antiques and that is why we keep at home countless vintage objects that belonged to my parents and grandparents, who now want to share with all guests who visit us.
my house is part of the everyday environment of people, is a ten minute walk from the beach and fifteen of town (town hall, police, medical center etc.) super five minutes from home and the town beach five minutes car or ten walk, there are excellent fresh fish restaurants at superb prices (Severo bar or Chozo) for example

  • The apartment is very cosy and well equipped. Jose met me at the airport, drove me to the flat and helped me with shopping as there are no shops in Los Caserones. He even got a bike for me as I did not want to rent a car. I stayed one month. A very peaceful life. Restaurants close early. There are great possibilities for hiking in the mountains but you need a car to go to different areas. Bus might work when the new road is opened and buses through Los Caserones start working again.

  • Note: road from El Risco is currently closed most of the time. My first night was in a dormitory, comfortable bed, all ok. In my other 8 nights bed was not so comfortable in my en-suite single, but the room was large with magnifico views from a spacious bay window. Limited WiFi in room, but excellent on terrace/reception area. Friendly, easy going staff. Simple breakfast of good quality bread & jam(s) hot drink, concentrated orange juice. Great value hostel - recommended. Wonderful scenic area with many great hike routes, be sure to go on easy walk to Cruz del Siglo, magnifico panorama over town & canyon. San Nicolas is such an interesting, unique & friendly village, everyone says Hola & social capital is high, with locals even beeping horns in recognition as they pass each other in vehicles. Probably due to the large farming co-ops. When my bus failed to turn up after a hike near Mogan, I knew I'd be able to hitch & was picked up within 15 minutes:-)

  • Sehr nette Gastgeber!

  • We had a completely wonderful time at Olga's place... It's a really intriguing villa in a beautiful location... Olga met us near Puerto de Mogan after our drive from the airport and guided us home.. Not only that, she then took one of our party off to locate supermarkets and the beach... We had no contact during the week, but we did have Olga's telephone number, and that of Ubaldo, her son, who speaks English... In short, a lovely, tranquil discovery, and we would certainly return... Thank you, Olga and Ubaldo for all you did before and during our stay to make it so lovely and wonderful...

    Andrew2014-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice time in Olga's house and especially the pool was popular among the children. Olga's son, Ubaldo, replied quickly every time we wrote him and Olga herself was very nice and friendly. When we had a problem with the booking, Ubaldo helped us find a hotel. They were very flexible and everything was 'no problem'. We were very happy with our stay.

    Nina2014-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was absolutely beautiful, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Lovely pool and friendly neighbors. Olga is a lovely lady who was very generous to us and everything ran smoothly start to finish. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough, especially if you are looking for a relaxing stress free sunshine holiday!

    Sheila2013-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We hade the most wonderful vacation in Olgas house. Partly because of spotless weather but mainly because of the lovely house and settings. The heated pool was a true success for our children and the location in the outskirt of Aldea was perfect for outings. The house suited us with the two bedrooms on the upper floor and the two side buildings with room for our guests. In the main bedroom and in the kitschen there is a airconditioner which was great for heating during the cold nights. It was pretty cold in the other two other bedrooms so a good pajamas is strongly recommended for those sleeping in these houses :-) We both had great help of Olga on arrival and during our stay Carmen, a neighbor was of huge help. The sun rises over the mountains at 9.15 and sets at 17-isch. Parts of the courtyard has sun from 9.15 until lunchtime. In the afternoon and until the sun sets over the mountains the sun is on the front of the house. The children enjoyed feeding the ducks and the freedom of being able to run out without being afraid of passing cars. Many lovely memories of passing farmers offering oranges and other vegetables and from great local cheese and fish from the shops in Aldea. We can strongly recommend the playa Aldea - even though it is a pebble beach it is beautiful with the sun setting over the sea and many small and ok restaurants. Passing through the tunnel you'll arrive at a more protected part of the beach with smaller parts of sand when the tide is low. Both old and young could swim with a bit of hand-holding :-(URL HIDDEN)

    Elin2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved this place! A great atmosphere amongst the mountains provided a great retreat away from the business of the towns and the house itself was a perfect place to rest. Olga was super sweet and accomodating to all of our needs.

    Gunilla2017-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The stay in Olga Maria's house was very nice, We were a group of 8 people. Olga Maria is a friendly host who did everything to make our stay as good as possible. The village where the house is located is quiet and pleasant, good opportunities for walking and a pebble beach is only 15 minutes away by car. The road up to the house from the foot of the mountain (Mogan) takes about 40 minutes a stunningly beautiful and very winding road into the mountains. The facilities are very comfortable and a great plus is the nice pool where I took several morning swim after exercises and training. The house has three bathrooms / WC makes it even better. I can certainly recommend this accommodation for you who want to try a stay outside the traditional tourist resorts on Gran Canaria.

    Nikolai2014-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at this cottage was great! We loved everything - the house, the pool, the place, nice neighbors and sweetest and tenderest dog from the neighbor house. Olga was very nice and welcoming host. She met us near Puerto de Mogan and showed us the way to the house. Also she was so kind that accompanied us to the closest supermarket and restaurant in the village La Aldea in spite of the late evening time. Also we would like to thank her son Ubaldo who was always available and ready for help and advice. You will need a car but it is worth it! The road is beautiful with a few points to get a magnificent panoramic view. We highly recommend this place! PS Please don't forget to feed our little friend Boni the dog and play with him - he loves that:)

    Anna2014-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic holiday at Olga's cottage. The property is spacious, spotlessly clean and full of character. Our two small children loved the pool and the family of ducks on the pond next door. The neighbours were lovely and helped us out when our toddler shut herself in the house and we needed another key, pronto! Olga also kindly met us on route to guide us to the house when we arrived. The neighbourhood is ok, but we did find this part of the island quite remote and the mountainous terrain meant visits to other parts of Gran Canaria a bit of a mission on winding roads. Luckily we could alternate days out with chilling at the house, maybe popping out to Aldea beach and the little cafe there by the water. If we could have carried this house a little further south it would've been perfect!

In the charming Farmers and Fisher Village of La Aldea de San Nicolas, time stood still. This little treasure remained undiscovered by the big crowds of tourists visiting the Island. The Villas belong to the old convent founded 1834 only walls are left, but the Villas have been recently reformed with the finest material in a traditional Canarian Style. You find a spacious open kitchen to dine with the whole family and a big terrace with a barbecue.
Villas del Convento is located in a village surrounded by breath taking mountains, barely touched by tourists, La Aldea de San Nicolas. These villas used to be a part of a monastery found in 1834, however, walls are the only thing that is left from the main building. Meanwhile, villas were rebuild keeping the traditional Canarias style, using only the finest materials. Spacious open kitchen with a dining table for the whole family, big terrace with a barbeque, fireplace and plenty of personal space for all family members – all this and much more can be found in Villas del Convento.

I furnished the house with recycled and natural materials. A few steps from the center, bars supermarkets banks. Quiet town with friendly people, nestled in the mountains and overlooks the ocean. has cab and connected to the rest of the island by bus
What's special about my house? The L I F E! Better to say, its second life. Yes, because 'this house' was uninhabited for about ten years, and then I came along and I have taken care. I clean, I spoiled, I gave it an identity and personality. I dressed with love and respect, by recycling materials, objects, old furniture; using, as much as possible what nature provides. And rejoicing on the collaboration of new good friends: Italian, Canarian, Icelandic, Dutch, Danish, Spanish, Croatian ... each of them has contributed to giving LIFE. Thanks :-)
The quarter, where is situated the house, is a few steps from the center and has many facilities such as supermarkets, banks, post office, bars and restaurants. About food, I recommend you try a few that I think are the best of the traditional meals: el gofio scaldado, la ropa vieja y el salpicón. Then there are others just as good.
  • The house with a personal, creative touch is well located for hiking. The hospitality of Sabrina is amazing. Nice rooms and all comfort is present. Authentic place Undiscovered by tourists . No doubts to pass one or more days at Sabrina's place! Lieve and Jan

Grazie tanto.

Traditional house on the edge of the small village of Tasarte on the west coast of Gran Canaria. It is an ideal location thanks to the wonderful warm climate of this area. There is a quiet beach 20 minutes.
This is a recently restored, traditional, stone-built farmhouse. Constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, it is situated in the Rural Parc Nuble, at the edge of the village Tasarte, just next to the local bakery. The rooms are opening off a shaded central patio. Each of the two large bedrooms has a double bed and there is also an extra single bed and cot available. Good size shower room, with WC, bidet and hot water from solar heater. Modern kitchen/diner fully fitted with dishwasher, washing machine, etc. Separate, large living room with radio, cd player and television. Large, south-facing sun terrace looks over the property's own large gardens (pick you breakfast oranges fresh from the tree!) and down the spectacular valley to the Atlantic ocean 10km distant. Barbecue, table, chairs, sunbeds etc. Off-road parking. All rooms, patio and sun terrace are wheelchair accessible (Description kindly given by one of our guests)
On the southern outskirts of the rural village of Tasarte (next to the backery), in the remote south-east of the island. Tranquil location in sheltered valley that ensures sunny, year-round climate. Good region for walking, cycling and exploring the dramatic, mountainous interior of the island, by car. Good supermarket at the busy resort of Puerto Mogan, which you will pass through on your way to Tasarte, small local shop in village. Restaurant with good food, wines and views on road to Mogan close to Veneguera.
  • Lovely villa up in the hills.

    Bevin2015-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay and Jose did everything to make us comfortable, providing lots of useful information. The location is fantastic if you like a more authentic village. There is a shop (Spa) just 2min walk away, and everything you need by way of daily essentials can be purchased there. Best to stock up at a larger supermarket though to get healthier foods etc. but the people locally were friendly, and Jose sorted out any questions we had over the phone. By way of warning: The beds are hard (which we couldn't cope with) but he even arranged for someone to lend us a topper which solved our problem. The pool is too cold in winter (we were here in December), but the sea is only about 15min away by car and a great temperature. There is no wifi in the village, which threw us a bit, about 15 min drive away is a great restaurant with great wifi and good local food. All in all a great place to stay and Jose (not living on site - you have the place to yourself) is an excellent 'host'

  • Keeping in mind that you are choosing for a rural place, this spot is a very nice place to relax; to be a part of the easiness of Gran Canaria. With a supermarket for the day to day shopping around the corner you can stay here far away from the loudly tourist spots. Enjoy the silence and the beautiful surroundings of the mountains surrounding you. A wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing holiday

  • Wer seinen Urlaub in Ruhe geniessen will, ist in Jose's Finca genau richtig!

  • Martin's apartment is very very lovely. If you are searching for a place that radiates a sense of calm you should come here. Martin was also very helpful in providing us with lots of information about how to reach the apartment (there were difficulties due to closed roads). Martin's grandmother helped us with the check in. She was extremely friendly. We also got to taste some nice vegetables. :)

    Simon2017-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Martin's Apaprtement. The communication was very easy and fast. Also the check in and out was uncomplicated (eventhough we had to leave in the middle of the night). The appartement has a balcony that you share with the appartement next door, but this was no problem at all. The kitchen is tiny, but eating on the balcony is nice! The only bad thing that happened was in the first night/day because there were little ants all over the food we hadn't put in the fridge. But we texted Martin and right away we got some anti insect spray which helped for the rest of the week. Besides that the appartement is very clean! If you are looking for a nice and quiet place outside of any touristic area, this is a good place. To have a car to get around makes it perfect.

  • This is simply a great, easy to reach, tidy and convenient place to stay in Gran Canaria. Away from mass tourism and close to one of the best beaches you can find on the island. The lady receiving you do not speak English but she is very kind and she is there to help if needed. Recommended, especially in low season, to those who want to see "the other Gran Canaria".

  • Budget accommodation in a remote location. The apartment is one of two situated on top of martins family house, with shared balcony, with the other apartment. Situated on the side of a busy road. The flat is clean and basic no frills, but good value for money. This is a remote location, so you have to bring everything you need with you. the house is sitauated far from the village. There is a pebble beach and harbour 5 mins away. The wifi does not receive a good signal, enough to check emails, but not to send photos via what app...we meet Martins mum for the keys, who was very friendly and kind. Thanks

    Joe2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were really nice, but could speak no english, just spanish, so communicating was quite difficult. But when we needed something they were very helpful. The third couchbed is really small, for people until 1,60 m. The place is really nice, but the public traffic there is really bad you have to rent a car to get there.
