Get away from it all and relax in a beautiful off-grid Eco Cottage on 38 acres. Experience the peace and beauty of a unique and ecologically sustainable Australian sub-tropical environment. Two distinct cottages make up the one residence at 'Uralba Eco Cottages'. One is occupied by your hosts, the other 'Kookaburra Cottage'. Both are separated by a breezeway, but each living space is designed to ensure the total privacy of its occupants. National and International Ecotourism Certification
With separate car parking and a disability access ramp, Kookaburra Cottage comprises one bedroom with queen bed, private bathroom, open-plan living area with lounge, dining area, and a large private verandah overlooking beautiful gardens. The verandah has its own vertical garden room and a calming water feature. This property is self-catering; with private BBQ, a small portable gas oven, fridge and kitchenette stocked with everything you will need such as crockery, cutlery, locally sourced tea and coffee etc. (Please note there is NO microwave). Organic towels and pillows, luxury linen and environmentally friendly bathroom supplies are provided, along with many added extras to make your stay with us all that more comfortable. The cottages run on 240v solar power entirely off-grid. Hot water comes from a separate solar system. There is a back-up generator and a LPG gas instantaneous hot water system (if needed). Filtered rainwater is gravity-fed to the cottages. Our Worm Waste Management system provides an environmentally sustainable solution for wastewater, sewerage and organic waste. The buildings were designed to maximise airflow and comfort while reducing the carbon footprint. Much of the timber used in construction of the cottages has been sourced directly from the property and/or recycled materials. We use renewable and recyclable products where possible, provide recycling bins and compost all food waste on site. The garden’s general design principles are based on permaculture and the whole property is organic (chemical free). There are plenty of things to do at Uralba. Relax on one of the comfy couches or in the hammock with a book, why not play a board game in the garden or become creative with some artwork? Enjoy the birds (over 100 documented species), butterflies, frogs and a variety of native animals such as wallabies, koalas and goannas.

  • The converted horse stables with Hello Mr Ed door feature was a lovely surprise. It was clean, peaceful, had great amenities and an excellent opportunity to get back in touch with nature. The outdoor bathroom had a gorgeous view of the green paddocks and huge mango tree and the walk around the property was also beautiful especially for our Pup Hugo who loved the space to run around. Chloe the dog was also a lovely friendly dog for our dog Hugo to play with. Her little surprise visits to say hello at the door were extra special. It was a short drive to local suburb Uki as well as Nimbin for coffee and eats. Thank - you Tomo & Rico, we will be back again one day!

check out our group discounts by asking for an offer, as little as $25 per person for groups of 4 or more. Please consider our little paradise. we will have three dwellings listed soon. The second will be listed by the 10th of January, it will suit up to 4 people. Open plan with a great view of Nimbin Rocks the outstanding natural feature of the local area. We have lots of wild life. Beautification still in progress but the scenery is really what you are paying for.
self contained and available for first responders. Enquire about special prices. Our space is unique because of the view of NImbin Rocks but also the natural environment surrounding our listing, we have a four hundred year old fig tree very close to the builings and this is a haven for birds and bats, we have a healthy community of micro bats as well. You can book up to seven people for the listing . With three queen sized beds and one single bed it will also be great for a family with kids. The current listing has a veranda on both the eastern and western sides to provide access to sun or shade as required. With some of the local wallabies coming almost to your door in the early hours it is a beautiful experience to be able to see. Also we are close to national parks, water falls, cafes and restaurants. We aim to provide fresh fruit grown onsite in the coming years and in the near future provide guests with opportunity to pick their own vegetables and herbs grown in gardens close as a stone throw from your bedr Blue and Red Wrens are abundant here as are a number of different finch varieties, other birds include Wedge tailed eagles, Ospreys and Black Cockatoo and White Cockatoo to name just a few. Down the road at the bridge one can observe Platypus and the odd Echidna can be seen around the property.
Nimbin is famous throughout the world for it's natural charm and anti establishment community especially toward the use of cannabis, it is the second busiest town in Australia after Byron Bay and many people visit the town every day. Nimbin has many other great features including access to natural health practitioners and massage, a variety of eateries and souvineers to be bought. Also there are a number of heritage listed national parks within a short drive.
  • Nothing beats waking up to the majestic Nimbin rocks. Staying on Michaels property was awesome, he provided snacks upon arrival and cooked some beautiful meals for us during our time there. 10/10 will be coming back some day!

  • A stunningly beautiful location and huge living space make this one of the best Airbnbs you're ever likely to find. Mik is a terrific and thoughtful host. I had driven a long way and he was kind enough to have provided chips and dip and also food to cook later. I wish I could have stayed longer!

  • The property is close to the town of Nimbin, but lies secluded on a hill, looking at the Nimbin Rocks. The accommodation was clean, stylish and comfortable. The best part about our stay weren't the amazing view, the wallabies, that you can see from you porch, or the proximity to Nimbin town- the best part of our stay was our host: Micheal. He welcomed us with warm, homemade apple crumble, helped us to kick of a fire in front f our porch and gave us tips and recommendations about the area

  • Michael is a superb host! I love getting back to nature and being able to see wallabies outside the bedroom window was amazing! Great place to unwind and unplug!

  • I had a wonderful time at Mic's property in Nimbin. You could see the powerful Nimbin rocks from my front door! A really cool location: nice and quiet, but very close to the town & local sights. Mic was super-nice, and very helpful, and he's a great cook as well! He was kind enough to cook up an excellent veggie curry on my first night! The place was large, open, and clean, with wallabies and kookaburras just outside for an amazing aussie experience! What a cool property and thoughtful host - a thanks for a wonderful little vacation!

It has 2 comfy king single beds, a single bed in a separate room, kitchenette, large bathroom, laundry basin, ample wardrobe storage, sofa, dining table, tv with dvds (there is no reception). Perfect for friends travelling together, but please, no pets. Nightly rates are for 2 people, extra guest is $45. Enjoy your stay!
Large windows provide a magnificent view of the Nimbin Rocks. You can enjoy the wildlife from the verandah while sipping on your cup of tea (enjoy the birds, but please don't feed them--they have plenty to eat). Enjoy the refreshing summer rains under a covered patio. The kitchenette comprises a cooktop, microwave, small fridge, tableware and cookware, and plenty of drawers to store your supplies, a dining table with chairs. The studio area has two comfortable king single beds that can be pushed together, a sofa, chest of drawers television with built-in DVD player and a collection of DVDs (there is no tv reception). The house is fully insulated, windows on all sides provide cooling cross-breezes, there are fans and heaters. The guest-house is supplied by inline filtered rainwater (short showers please) and solar power.
We are a small rural property (17 ha) typical to the region, with young dairy cows and a bull grazing on the pasture. Wildlife is abundant. We have identified more than 85 bird species on the property, including yellow-tailed black cockatoos. There are several species of frogs, dragon flies, and butterflies. The dam is home to saw-shell turtles, eels, water dragons and other reptiles. Mammals include platypus, bandicoots and red-necked wallabies, flying foxes and micro bats. Foxes and dingoes can be heard at night during their breeding season. We are in the heart of the 'Rainbow Region', surrounded by rainforests that are part of the World Heritage listed national parks, including Border Ranges, Wollumbin (Mt Warning), Nightcap and others--all a day trip away.

Cawongla is "The peaceful place", the perfect getaway for quality time out, peace, local walks and local hospitality. For the explorers, local attractions include Mount Warning, nearby waterfalls and koala trails. Small towns, Nimbin, Kyogle and Uki, all host weekend markets. Hanging Rock hall is 6.6km from Brolga. Day trips to Gold Coast theme parks or Byron Bay beaches, nature walks & organinc attractions are well within reach, with the perfect retreat to unwind at the end of the day.
The Brolga homestead is a big family home! Enveloped in nature, you will wake up to bird song, can have a cuppa overlooking the vast dam and settle in for a relaxed day at home or gear up and get out into nature. The Brolga property is cut by 2 km of creek which you are welcome to explore or just kick back and enjoy the pool and fireplace come summer or winter. There are three main bedrooms, a king suite, queen, and large “kids/singles” room that has two king single beds, two trundle beds, one double loft and one double bed in the converted verandah off the main Kids room. There are also two extra beds on the internal verandah overlooking the deck and pool. One is a double bed , the other a day bed which converts to king size when extended. The home was actually our own prior to children. It has been set up to accommodate couple getaways yet is big enough to happily accommodate two families holidaying together as we frequently enjoyed while living there ourselves. We can only hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we love our home.
Cawongla has a population of 221 people.... the nicest folks you’ll ever meet. We have a locally run convenient store which hosts Friday night dining of arguably the best wood fire pizza you’ll ever taste! We are close to Mount Warning National Park, and local koala and waterfall walking trails. 20 Minuts to towns of Kyogle and Nimbin. Within day trip to Byron bay and Gold Coast attractions.
  • I can’t rate this place highly enough. Amazing people with an amazing house. The house is incredibly beautiful. So spacious and so easy to live in. Stunning surrounds and gorgeous dams and creeks close by. I will recommend this place to everybody I see. We had the best of times and are already planning return visits. Thank you for making our weekend perfect.

  • A large and comfortable farmhouse in lovely surroundings.

    Howard2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Brolga farm house was the perfect place for our large group on a weekend away. The house was much bigger than expected and is set up perfectly for entertaining with a large deck and bbq area, great kitchen with all that’s required, two full size fridges, pool, ping pong table and trampoline. It is well set up for kids with a high chair, cot and play room. Communication with Taryn was brilliant before and during the stay. Taryn configured the house well for us, with the family of four in the king room with plenty of space for the cot and trundle bed. The rooms have ceiling fans and there are a few pedestal fans however I suggested packing a few extras as it can get HOT, especially when sleeping. We are so pleased with our choice and will definitely be back. Thank you for having us Taryn and family.

    Sharni2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed if you stay at Brolga! Enough space for three families. We will definitely be back!

    Kymberley2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Taryn was a super host, very friendly and helpful. The house was great! Even better then the photos a very pleasant stay. Great location close to national parks, great drives through the hills towards the coast. On the farm lots of animals for the kids, kangaroos, fruit bats, turtles, chickens, sheep.... delicious home made meat pies at the corner store a couple kms away. Highly recommend it to all.

    Matt2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to visit with lovely hosts. Our children loved exploring the house and all the outdoor spaces including collecting eggs from the chickens for breakfast every day and helping with the sheep. There are walks, swimming in the pool or the creek or simply relaxing on the large deck reading a book. There is plenty of space for families or friends. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a large outdoor bbq area. We loved our stay here and look forward to visiting again.

    Kelly2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A big, comfortable country home in a lovely rural setting.

    Howard2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Taryn was such a helpful and nice host, really pleasant to deal with. The house if anything, is actually better than what the photos show! I was expecting it to be crazy hot without air conditioning but it wasn't an issue. The pool is a really good size. Showers were nice and the bath was a nice little added feature too! All in all we had such a nice stay and would definitely consider booking again. Thank you!

  • As always, Helga is truely a superhost and is very generous with her time and thoughtfulness. The unit is great and have all the comfort you need for a stay. We love this place. Mats & Monique

  • Helga’s place was a quirky little getaway, with lots of space and nature all to yourself. Far enough from the craziness of Nimbin but also close enough to appreciate it. We loved she and her dogs’ hospitality and enjoyed the stay.

  • My 3 nights stay at Lillian Valley Lodge exceeded all my expectations. Helga was there to greet me on arrival in the afternoon, and throughout my stay was discrete, helpful, and friendly. The unit was comfortable, clean, and beautifully furnished with high quality finishes, and artworks that gave it a charismatic ambience. The unit is located in a beautiful natural environment, providing a quiet and peaceful experience. Hope I can return again.

Relax and rejuvinate at Big Bluff. Wake up to kookaburras that announce the dawn and rolling mist on the mountain tops. A cuppa on the deck watching the hares dart past, or a spot in the Polaris to check the cattle before brekky. Everyone is welcome at Big Bluff to experience a little bit of farm life.
Choose from a bushwalk to look out over Mt Lindsay or following the meandering creek. Connect with the land, and connect with the animals. Feed the chooks and collect the eggs, and just sit awhile and watch them. Catch up with a good book, pursue your creativity with your art or writing project. Switch off and let your mind to wander or slow down and truly talk to your partner or your children. Rest. Relax. A spot of paddock cricket or croquet, or try your hand at cooking damper over the campfire. Watch the light and the air change as the sun dips below the horizon, setting the clouds alight in a myriad of colours, then relax in the Bull Ring with a beer or two. The Bungalow sleeps four in a queen and two singles. It has a deck overlooking the creek.
The closest town is Kyogle (25minutes drive). The Main Street is well known for it's heritage Art Deco facades. It hosts a Farmers Market every Saturday morning. Our pick of the nearby parks is Sheepstation Creek in the Border Ranges National Park. It's an easy walk to the Brindle Creek Falls through ancient rainforest following the path of loggers of yesteryear.
  • The service provided by Jodie and Wayne was outstanding. They were great with the kids, made everyone feel very welcome. It was everything we wanted and more.

    Brianna2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jodie and Wayne have created a beautiful place for a relaxing getaway with a great experiences. Kids paradise really - interact with animals, collect eggs, learn about the cows, chase the dog chasing a hare:) Especially loved the breakfast basket with local produce, pizza oven and the Big Bluff bar area. Ride on a buggy to see the property was a great opportunity to learn about the kettle farming. Great tips from the host for the local waterfall hike. Beautiful side of the world!! Would recommend it to anyone and would like to go back one day when the creeks have water again!

    Sille2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • I wanted to book a place where my family could enjoy some disconnect from busy life. I couldn't have picked a better place. From the moment we arrived my kids were straight outdoors to the playground. We walked around the space and took it all in. They treated us to a ride and background of their farm (which was a definite highlight). The beautiful wildlife was constantly keeping us company. The home made bread, jam, butter, honey, and muslei were a delightful treat to go with their own chickens eggs for breakfast. We sat out on the porch and just enjoyed every last minute. My kids didn't spend anytime inside except to shower and sleep. And we really appreciated the brushbox falls waterfall walk recommendation from our hosts, as the hike was truly magic. We'll definitely be back again because our hosts made it extra extra special with their thoughtfulness. Thank you!

    Emily2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic short break at Big Bluff farm. We loved the farm tour on the Polaris. Was so nice to chill by the fire, toast some marshmallows and enjoy the serenity. Our 2 girls loved the swing and playground, seeing the chickens and collecting the eggs, and seeing the baby calves. Our bungalow was sparkling clean with thoughtful touches. Brekky basket was awesome. Thanks Jodie and Wayne!

    Danielle2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful part of the world! Jodie and Wayne’s hospitality was just amazing! The breakfast basket and freshly made pizza were beautiful. We also really enjoyed the tour around the farm. Such an amazing place and spectacular hosts!

    Breanna2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Big Bluff is a lovely place! Stayed one night with a friend and they had everything we needed. Clean, comfortable and great breakfast hamper - complete with fresh homemade bread, eggs from their chickens and super yummy homemade condiments! Jodie also took us for a little drive around the property in their Polaris buggy (which was a real thrill for a city girl like me- riding up and down their hilly farm was probably the closest experience I’ll get to Jurassic Park!) Would love to come back some day!

    Kay2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for your hospitality, Jodie and Wayne! We loved every aspect - our child didn’t want to leave Tuppence and Buttons behind and talks about them constantly every day since we’ve left. She simply adored them. Loved all the little touches! Such a beautiful brekky hamper, I am obsessed with that passionfruit butter and wanted some for home! Loved the chutney, fresh eggs + homebaked bread, + other items - yum. Comfy bed! Beautiful and intricate artwork by your mum, Ruth, adorned countless nooks and crannies. Glorious fresh air out there that I couldn’t get enough of, along with simply incredible views. Thank you for the awesome tour of the entire property on the Polaris; it was very informative and special, the little one was truly RAPT with it + the energetic tour-sidekick. ;) Thankful for a memory-filled, unique getaway that filled my heart with peace. Will have to come back again soon.

  • We couldn't have asked for lovlier hosts. The property is stunning, the cottage is gorgeous, and Jodie and Wayne were amazing hosts during our stay. I highly recommend Big Bluff. I'll definitely be heading back.

The Dairy is a funky little place for two...or a solo adventure of solitude. It's an old, characterful dairy, so nothing State of the Art here...just light, bright, airy and comfortable. Situated in the little village of Dunoon, with it's cool general store , post office and school (all within a gentle 5 min walk), a picturesque drive to waterfalls, bush walks and the infamous Channon markets. A 20 minute drive from Lismore or Clunes, 30 mins from Bangalow or Federal and 45 mins from Byron Bay
The Dairy has a comfy queen bed, a hot shower, a washing machine TV, DVD player and a kitchen with gas top, microwave and a very small benchtop-oven. The Dairy has some games, books, DVD's and a well stocked pantry for you to prepare meals. It's a quiet, private space which you have entirely to yourself.
Dunoon is a quiet village with a little school, a post office and a friendly, well-stocked general store which is open from 7am-7pm. It's 9 mins from The Channon, with it's art gallery, tea rooms, fabulous monthly market and the astoundingly beautiful Protestors Falls are a further 13 mins at Terania Creek. The very beautiful Minyon Falls is half an hour from The Dairy, as are the lovely villages of Bangalow and Federal. Byron Bay is a further 15 mins past these.
  • A comfortable place for two in a pretty town, close to lismore. It has all the comforts and generous teas, soaps etc. Very happy!

  • The Dairy in Dunoon proved to be a wonderful stay and a great stepping off point to explore the Northern Rivers region. The house had everything we needed to ensure a relaxing holiday. Highly recommend to anyone wishing to avoid the hubbub of the coastal towns but desiring close access to all the beaches, national parks, markets and other appealing activities locally available.

  • We stayed 2 nights with our one year old little girl and we loved it so much ! The studio is nice and comfy, the bed was warm and the fire heater makes it even more cosy. During the night it got quite cold but not a big issue, this is simple living. If you come during winter, you'll just have to sleep with a jumper :-). Conveniently located 5 min drive from Nimbin, we could easily buy food at the supermarket. Nice walks around the beautiful property, you can admire the Nimbin rocks and the lush nature. Such a calm and peaceful place to be, I didn't want to leave ! The bathroom is huge, nice big shower to play with bub. There are also toys and baby/kids books which was really cool for our girl to play with. Thanks a lot for making our stay comfortable, we want to come back !

  • This spot was such a lovely getaway and an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful hinterland. The studio was very spacious and the pool sparkling clean under a canopy of rainforest trees. Loved the fresh farm eggs we were given for breakfast. Nimbin is only a few km away and you pass by stunning rock formations on the drive there and back.

  • Our city kids enjoyed their experience, one of our most memorable holidays. Total privacy but hosts were available to assist promptly. Nimbin is a wee treasure with a welcoming community. Hanging rocks was amazing. Mike, John and Chiquita were all welcoming and the kids felt instantly at home, a relaxing time for mum and dad with plenty of local wildlife. Fresh eggs and local fresh produce.

    Sundeep2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, quiet and tranquil setting. Chaquita ensured we had a great stay in our private little bungalow. There were lots of thoughtful touches such as filtered water and free eggs in the fridge from her own chooks. Everything you need is provided. We had full use of the pool during our stay and the peace and quiet was amazing. The property is close to Nimbin village for all necessities but set in a beautiful and quiet bush location. Just perfect for recharging and refreshing the soul. We loved it and will be back again.

This sweet and elevated workman's cottage, set on a disused farm, is utterly charming and cosy. It's a particularly convenient location if you're looking to venture out into the Border Ranges National park with its vast views and numerous, magical walking tracks. The cottage itself is pretty basic. Perfect for those whom appreciate good old rustic charm, or those looking for a country escape.
As you will be able to tell by the photos, the space is very rustic yet charming. It's definitely a space free of 'bells & whistles', concentrating more on the basics, done well. Just like us it has some bumps and bruises but we love it for that. Please be aware that mobile phone reception is non existent. Say your goodbyes from about 20 minutes away. You can keep in touch with the outside world via the internet (iPhone and messenger etc). However! The big house just at the top of the drive approx. 80m away) does have a landline for emergencies. There is a small television and DVD player (with lots of DVDs to choose from), however, there is no actual TV reception here. There is an HDMI socket at the back of the TV if you'd like to link up your computer to stream via the internet. Please be aware that the internet connection isn't super fast so it can glitch a bit. If the weather is bad, the internet is even more glitchy, so chuck on a dvd and forget about the world! Fire flies!!!! Magical little critters they are!! I've seen them here. Just not all the time. Very mesmerising to watch if you get lucky enough! I've been sure to include the following items as they are must haves: Coffee, Tea, Sugar Mustard & Tomato Sauce Olive Oil Wine vinegar Balsamic Vinegar Salt & Pepper
If you're wanting to see what the Border Ranges National Park has to offer there are plenty of hits on the internet. From peoples drone videos on youtube, to the more thorough 'to do' info via the national parks NSW website. In terms of what is available in the area, there is a sweet little general store in the nearby town of Wiangaree (which is where you turn off the highway). This is approx. 10 minutes away. They have the basics there, bread, milk, beer etc. Nothing fancy. Just the basics. Run by lovely locals. The next nearest town is Kyogle which has a supermarket with all your provisioning needs, again, nothing fancy.
  • We loved it! Definitely better than the pictures. The cottage is awesome, and time stood still while we were there. Plenty to see in the immediate area. Recommended, particularly for animal lovers!

    Jarran2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in the cottage exceeded our hopes for a moment away to rest and restore with my partner and I and our pup. We stayed for just under a week in perfect serenity. Quiet and still in beautiful nature, with plenty of places to explore by car or foot nearby. The cottage is full of complimentary essentials making us feel very much at home here. Bring just enough grocery produce to make your time comfortable here as after you arrive you won’t want to leave to the next towns for anything. Cottage is cosy but spacious. Location is quiet but alive. Vibe is soft but feels oh so good. Thank you Jessica to hold this space for all of us! Be back again soon.

    Darcy2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, rustic accommodation close to the Border Ranges National Park. We enjoyed meeting the owner of the property.

    Christine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little rustic getaway right outside the scenic Border Ranges. Lovely view and we enjoyed exploring the property. The owner Chang was kind enough to give us a tour of a couple walking tracks nearby. Definitely stock up on food in Kyogle beforehand as there’s really nothing healthy at the local shop. We would recommend this little charmer for anyone wanting to disconnect and explore the beautiful Border Ranges next door.

    Jessica2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming little cottage, full of personality ! The cottage is well equipped with all you need. Just the place to unwind and enjoy nature. A running creek and lots of exploring was enjoyed by my dog and myself.

  • Such a cosy place, off the beaten track, a great romantic get away!

    Jessica2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mudbrick cottage, very rustic, was like a step back in time.... with wifi! Great creek for dogs to swim and play.... bring your inflatable raft for ultimate relaxation! The view from the veranda is much bigger and better than the photos.

    Gareth2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is even cutter than the pictures, the fire is toastie warm, and there was a lovely selection of herbal teas! The cottage has everything you need and nothing you don't - just perfect for a get away. We were lucky enough to join Chang and Alfie (the dog) for a lovely walk around the property. We just wish we had an extra day to stay. Thanks so much!

  • Had an awesome weekend here! Kitchen had everything we needed and more. The yard was fully fenced which was awesome for our dog who also had a wonderful time. Very lovely home. Shame about the creek, but no one to blame for that except Mother Nature. Would love to come back when the river is flowing! Thanks for our stay

  • The doll house cottage is a place we will never forget. The moment you enter the house you feel that everything is there to please you. Every single detail is perfect inside and outside. The views from every window, the sounds of the rosellas, galags, magpies, pigeons in the morning, the peaceful silence during the night and the overwhelming sight of the Milky Way and the millions of stars while having a wine sitting in the veranda is unforgettable. Marian was the perfect host. She made you feel all the privacy and at the same time you know she is there ready to solve everything you need as soon as you ask her. When you discover a place like this it is impossible not to miss it the moment you leave it behind. We will come back for sure!

  • Dollhouse was a very good and cosy stay. Spotless clean, comfy bed. In generel more than perfect. Would be back any time.

  • The Dollhouse is a real nice and very well thought of little place, that's perfect to getaway and relax in the NSW countryside. While the kookaburra's and magpies sing all around you, you can sit at the veranda or take the other door and kook in the outdoor kitchen.

    Jaap2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin, cosy, clean and well appointed/decorated. Very thoughtful touches like the breakfast options plus coffee etc. Will go back soon.

    Craig2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our big regret was my partner and I sawmade the decision to get away too late to truly appreciate how wonderful the place was. What resonated with me was a couple of things my partner said to me during our stay: "they really have thought of everything"; and "I've stayed in five star accommodation that wasn't anywhere near as clean as this". The bed was absolutely divine. We slept beautifully. We could have slept all day. Having arrived after dark our big regret was only being able to truly sample the location in the morning. What a backdrop. It was absolutely stunning. Our hosts were incredibly pleasant and it was magnificent to escape even for just a little while. We would have no hesitation in going back and recommend anyone wanting a little break to see what's it's like in a doll's house. PS. And the home made cookies are something else!!!!

    Joel2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Dollhouse Cottage was so cute. We only stayed one night but would love to come back. Clean and cosy and a comfortable bed. Beautifully styled and attention to detail.

The cottage is approximately one hours drive to coastal beaches from Evans Head to Byron Bay and World Heritage National Parks. This is the perfect setting for a peaceful getaway.
Our country cottage is situated in a private area of the garden with lovely mountain views to the north, perfect for a quiet rest in the countryside. • Liz & Bob have curated a stunning little cottage situated on their beautiful property. It offered everything we desired on our escape from the city and we can’t wait to go back soon!

    Matt2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for my partner and I’s well needed weekend getaway from the city. The photos really can’t capture the beauty of the landscape, the view, nor the beautiful little cabin that Liz and bob have built (which is actually bigger than expected). The small touches were not lost on us either as we were delighted to discover the French press coffee, fresh eggs, butter and bread in the fridge. Overall it was a great experience and I’d highly recommend the place to anyone who is looking for a getaway which perfectly captures the essence of Byron bay hinterland farm country.

Cozy room with two single beds. Opens into the main living room, and another door that opens out onto a long verandah that catches the morning sun. The main bathroom opens onto this verandah and the entrance to the kitchen.
A short two minute walk to the centre of Nimbin with the hotel and its restaurant, and numerous cafes, restaurants, and a small supermarket. Just across the road from the Bowling Club with its own restaurant and an entertainment venue.
  • The traditional Salvadorian breakfast is awesome! I'll be staying here next time I get to Nimbin for sure

    Randall2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Warwick and Mari were very welcoming and accepting hosts. We were lucky enough to eat some delicious food prepared by Mari from her home country of El Salvador. Mari makes a mean breakfast and is very passionate about her organic produce that she grows herself in the gardens they have. We were very well looked after and it's such great value to be so close to the middle of town, just a couple hundred metres to the main street with shops and cafes. Such lovely people and wonderful hospitality.

Experience the unique atmosphere of the historic 1840's Dyraaba Station. You'll stay in the charming original Stockman's Cottage nestled amongst the ancient Bunya Pines and Moreton Bay Fig trees. You'll enjoy your own tranquil space, and be soothed by the unmistakable sounds of the Australian country landscape. Take a walk down a country road, or across the creek and into the Station's surrounding bush. Be refreshed and be inspired by an experience of the pioneer's way of life.
Dyraaba Station holding was originally 200,000 acres running cattle for the tallow market. Now the Dyraaba Station homestead sits on 150 acres. The surroundings have been divided up into smaller acreage farm lots.
  • Robyn and Peter are lovely people who have an absolutely brilliant property in a genuinely bucolic landscape. The thought that has gone into the house is on show everywhere. The antique pieces chosen show consummate taste. The garden takes inspiration from the tropics and Capability Brown. The history exudes from every pore. I can’t recommend the property enough.

    Kate2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous place to stay. We had been in wategos beach for a week before heading to Robyn’s place and it was the first time we felt completely relaxed. We loved the outdoor fire pit and used that to cook both nights we were there. We sat and star gazed after dinner and took in the piece and quiet. Robyn had also left us with everything we could of wanted for a delicious breakfast. There were a lot of thoughtful touches that made us feel welcomed and at home straight away. If you are traveling from overseas and want to have a truly country Australian experience then you should stay here. The property is amazing and felt like a trip back in time. Such beautiful landscaping and grounds. The houses were the original slab houses built in the early 1800’s and I can not think of any where else that isn’t a museum that has these kinds of buildings. Their lovely dog Silla kept us company on our stay which made it felt even more like home. I would suggest taking a trip out to Border national park for some day hikes. It was a beautiful way to spend a day. I would highly recommend this place

    Asia2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a memorable stay. We love everything, the cottage is perfect. The fire in the living room kept us warm at night. We enjoyed being able to see all the stars. Thank you for your kind hospitality Robyn & Peter.

  • Robyn is a great host. Fantastic, quality getaway spot to slow down, enjoy the serenity of country, open fire, clear night sky. Thanks so much Robyn for sharing your beautiful country cottage and historic homestead with us. We need to return!!!!

    Paula2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dyraaba Station is a piece of Australia's history in a beautiful location that is lovingly cared for by hosts Robyn and Peter. We had 3 glorious nights there soaking up the serenity. The cottage is wonderfully styled and cosy with every amenity. Robyn had very generously stocked the larder with fruit, jams, bacon, eggs, bread, date slice and much more. The verandah was a preferred spot to admire the ancient trees, the late afternoon echidna wanderings, the chooks and guinea fowl and of course the resident Kelpie cross Cilla who played all day long with our Tenterfield Terrier, they had a ball! This is a gorgeous place that is perfect to unwind, our 11 yr would have stayed for good if allowed - walks in the paddocks, cows, a tennis court, trees to climb and a creek to splash in, the perfect mini break for our little family. I can't recommend highly enough.

    Karen2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A very stylish and cosy cottage. The outdoor fire pit was a treat. Secluded and peaceful. Lots of nice touches, such as fresh flowers made it an extra special stay.

  • We absolutely loved our stay, so peaceful and private. An outdoor bath as the sun was going down, looking out over the mountains was a highlight, what a great experience. The extra touches were lovely, we were provided with local sourdough and eggs and delicious coffee meaning we didn’t have to go out for breakfast. Close to Nimbin (thanks to Richie for the pizza tip!) and national parks, a perfect getaway!

    Ross2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Richard have created a very peaceful space to relax. The house was sparking clean! We loved the warm light and breeze filtering in through the house in the late afternoon. Sitting at the bar table and in the bathtub gazing out at Wollumbin was very special. We enjoyed the beautiful rose and lavender bath crystals and delicious coffee! Very thoughtful. The compost toilet design is very admirable! Something we hope to recreate ourselves! Thanks for being great hosts. We’ll be back for sure. 💚😊

    Rachel2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We just enjoyed 4 nights of pure serenity and the outdoor bath is as relaxing as it can possibly get. It’s the perfect little off the grid getaway, designed for comfort and practicality. For nature lovers (like myself) I was taken with the daily visits of each koala, wallaby and possum. I’m not sure if this is all year round, but I’m allergic to every insect imaginable but there were barely any at all. I didn’t even bust out the aeroguard. A marvellous way to bring in the new year!

    Ali2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a fabulous week on my own at Stony Chute retreat with Fiona & Richard being the perfect hosts & experienced property owners. I felt very welcomed & assisted & given absolute privacy to enjoy the magic of the mountain bushland & wild life. The view. Omg. It is quite devine & captivating. I felt alive, at peace & safe. I enjoyed myself & have returned home still beamed up by the whole eco cabin experience. I felt like a king. It's lush & simple & got more than you could need. I consulted Fiona for an astrology chart reading which i found very caring, clear & easy to comprehend. These 2 are clever, wise, creative souls i reckon. I trust Fiona will be making a medicinal herbal potion for me soon. I trust her. I was open to all the medicines & healing the setting could offer. I took a 2hr bushwalk with Richard to the local trig point. He was a natural on the land & explaining interesting facts & showing me things to learn about the local nature. Plus was keen to answer my every curiosity. Given I had an injury he was very helpful in pulling me up the hill & we both had a lot of fun. I'm so grateful to them for sharing this sanctuary with others. I'd like to come back in winter. Or anytime in fact. Thanks so much a trip of my life Kind Regards Lexton

Walking distance to Lismore’s CBD, close to SCU (University), river, cafes, nightlife, Regional Art Gallery, public swimming pool this location is perfect for travellers. The house is one side of a 1920’s duplex & has gorgeous original features. Lots of interesting walks near by. The household consists of myself, Nahla (sweet natured dog) & often my sister’s dog, Jelly. I am vegetarian & I make raw vegan cakes for cafes. I am planting lots of edibles in the garden... herbs, fruit, veggies 😁🌻.
Girard’s Hill is an old established suburb of Lismore , right next to town. At the end of the street is the steep Girard’s Hill with lots of trees & bush land leading up to Robinson’s Lookout. A walking track from there takes you either to the baseball fields by the river or to the golf course open Greenland’s where I have seen koalas several times. Lots of cute old houses & friendly people around here.
  • It was such a delight staying with Louise and her little furry family. The bed was comfortable and the backyard balcony seating was my favourite. Perfect little getaway from city life. Had the best 12 hour sleep ever! Thank you Louise, I clearly needed it!

  • Cosy house with lots of character and a comfy bed. Louise was friendly and made sure my dog felt at ease in her home. She was very helpful with providing local information. Extremely good value. Highly recommend!

  • Without a doubt, Louise has an absolute treasure on offer. The house is so close to the town centre. You could walk or drive. I drove because I needed my coffee fix in a hurry. Oh, there are plenty of nice cafés around. That said, Louise has coffee and tea available for you anyway. I felt welcome and safe at all times. The room is perfect and my bed was super comfy. The desk in the room made my work really easy to do and I would 100% check if the space was available on my next wedding gig to the area. 'Gonz The DJ'

  • Thank you, Louise, for having my husband Jed and I stay at your lovely home! It is so cutesy and you were very welcoming and kind. We were transported in time in your 1920s home. We were so happy to have this experience & your dog Nahla was so gentle and cute! We will keep you in mind the next time we are looking for an Airbnb in the Lismore area. 😊🌻

A large family home reminiscent of a Tuscan Villa, in a quite street with stunning valley views. The shared kitchen is fully equipped and guests can cook their own meals, breakfast will be available on request. I have three cats who run the place and small pets are welcome on prior arrangement. Enjoy the outside areas with a cold drink and listen to the abundant bird life or sit quietly and enjoy the valley views and cooling breezes. Close to shops, Lismore 10 min, Ballina and the beach 30 min.
Goonellabah is centrally located up on the plateau and is close to Ballina , Byron Bay, Lennox Head and nearby hinterlands and beaches. Also 30 min to Nimbin and a host of weekend markets throughout the area.
  • Gerry is a great host and has a great spot. Would recommend it.

The homestead is set on approx 150 acres, it has 3 bedrooms, 2 adjoining with Queen beds and 2 singles beds and another bedroom with a double bed. It has 2 bathrooms, a kitchen with a fireplace, TV, BBQ and a sauna. There is also a creek and a large dam for exploring. The price is for the entire farm.
The guests rent the homestead and farm in it's entirety. They can enjoy the peace and quiet of the space the farm allows.
A very clean environment. The abundance of wildlife, which is almost certainly from the close proximity of state forests and National Parks.
  • Cannot rate Terranora Homestead highly enough. Such a beautiful space with so much to explore on the property. The kitchen was so well equipped it made the stay that much easier and gave that homely touch. Will be visiting again for sure :)

    Dominique2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent communication and place

    Petra2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you like quaint, original style homestead country living, then you can’t go past this place. This was our second trip and it was exactly as we remembered. Quiet, removed from all civilisation including mobile phones so you actually talk to each other!!! It rained while we there and you can see the grass going green before your eyes! Watching the cattle graze, the goannas searching for food, the birds soaring - gives you the opportunity to relax and wonder at nature. The beds are comfy, the whole feel of the place is authenticity. Nicely done!

  • Brilliant place and better than we expected. The neighbours we picked the key up from, Ernie and June, were absolutely fantastic and a definite highlight, it was great meeting them and listening to their stories of the area. We were unfortunate enough to lose a key to the property, and Ernie was able to help us very quickly, after delivering a cow calf, no less. We were able to get up in the morning and watch the cows in the nearby cow paddock and wallabys nearby the house. We even saw some wallaby joeys and a large echidna, as well as a couple of turtles up at the nearby dam. All facilities we came across were well maintained and functional, beds comfortable and clean linen, and all lights working. The rustic kitchen area was also a highlight, there was enough space for all 8 of us to comfortably fit, cook and play board games in front of the fire. Requesting firewood is recommended, the kitchen/living area would get a bit cold at night but the fire absolutely made the atmosphere! We'll definitely be looking to return to Terranora and would recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing rustic retreat.

  • Unique BIG homestead that was relaxing. Plenty to see!

    Brooke2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous retreat. Bed and linen top shelf. So quaint- just what we were hoping for. Great location - so peaceful and beautiful.

    Annabel2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful long weekend. The rustic accommodation and beautiful countryside were exactly what we were looking for. Loved our time by the fire and staring at stars.

    Daniel2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just amazing. From the moment we picked up the keys from Ernie and June (Chris’ neighbours), we knew we were in for a special weekend. Ernie and June made us feel very welcome, sharing great stories about the history of Theresa Creek and life on the land. The homestead itself is just wonderful. Comfortable and charming. We spent hours exploring the property, walking from one end to the other. Each morning and afternoon we set up on the walkway to watch the cows, wallabies and kookaburras in the paddock. If you are looking for a private, quiet space to escape city life, this is the place for you. We highly recommend getting the firewood from Ernie. Such great value and delivered right to your door. We look forward to returning soon.

  • We stayed at Liz and Bob's over new years 2019/20. Upon arrival we were greeted by Liz who showed us around the property. The house was spotlessly clean and had the most amazing deck and views anyone could ask for. There is cute little Jack Russell called Josie who loved to pop in and hang with us. Overall a truly relaxing stay with great hospitality. Thanks again Liz and Bob and we hope to return to your wonderful home once again.

  • Liz and Bob have an amazing private home right on top of the hill where you are greeted with a gorgeous view and can play spot the wildlife on the verandah. They were so welcoming and let us wander around. Liz pointed out a photo album in the room, I had a look through and saw some photos of their house being built and when they nourished a herb farm which was really interesting and also pretty cool! Josie, their dog, was so super cute. I think Manuel got a bit attached haha. The place was clean and everything you need is provided. Definitely better than we could have hoped for on this long weekend getaway! Thank you!
