“One of the best beaches on the Big Island. You have to go to the main gate and get a beach parking pass and they will direct you to the beach. There are public bathrooms and showers at the parking area. I also think you can eat at the bar restaurant at Hualalai a short walk from the beach. Great swimming. Both sand and grass areas to relax. ”

“Manini'owali Beach (Kua Bay) - take the Kua Bay access road down to the parking area. There are restrooms for changing, sometimes a food truck and white sands awaiting. The beach is a nice size, not usually too busy and plenty of great waves.”

“A 35 minute drive will get you to this great keiki beach, good for small children. You need one of a limited number of daily passes from the security gate, which keeps crowds down. There is good snorkeling, and it is surrounded by nice houses. If you walk to the north, you may see a lot of turtles.”

“KIKAUA POINT BEACH is a secluded family-friendly beach located within the Kuki’o golf and Beach Resort. Nobody knows about this place, so keep it our little secret. This small beach features soft white sand that gently slopes into the usually calm waters of a protected inlet. The beach has full amenities. Bring your own shade. (20 minutes)”

“Turtles come to this beach and neighboring Kukio Bay to rest in the sand. Keep 10-20 feet away. It is illegal to touch them. Ask for parking pass at gate. ”

“We suggest going early if you visit this beach as the number of public parking spots is limited. They will let you know at the gate if they are full, in which case try Mauna Kea up the road, or Kua Bay back towards town. Kuiko is almost never crowded, and has some nice snorkeling as well. It is a bit of a walk from parking, so be prepared if you are setting up for the day. Restrooms and showers. The gate will provide directions.”

“This beach is on a private club, but if you go to the gate they will issue you a beach pass. The beach has a great kiddie pool surrounded by rock, so it is one of our favorites to bring the kids to. But there is also awesome snorkeling and whale watching (in season) here. Something for everyone!”
