  • Our experience at Greenhills cottage was amazing! The cottage was even better than described in the pictures, and the location was brilliant. We had the entire place to ourselves for the night. It was ideally suited for day hiking, and had all we needed to cook our own supper. Make sure you're feeling adventurous and leave yourself plenty of time to check this place out. Carol was great, and even provided a cake for us.

  • The cottage was amazing and the hosts were fantastic. They even let us borrow their dog Mello to take with us on our climb up to the summit. It was our favorite stop on our month long journey! Thank you.

  • Lovely place. Cool layout. Arrived in the darkness and awoke in the morning to the most stunning views. Very friendly hosts

  • My girlfriend and I really enjoyed staying at Greenhills Cottage. The host Carol kept in touch with us from the minute we made the booking, until we arrived. Once we arrived, Carol showed us around the cottage and answered any questions we had, she also told us of some walking routes and things to do in the local area. Then she left us to it, but let us know that , if we needed anything, then we only had to ask, which suited us. The cottage itself is very nice, it is easily big enough to accommodate 4 people and the facilities are also very good. The kitchen is well stocked enough to cook a nice meal. The sitting room is also very cosy, with plenty of places to sit if more than 2 people are staying and the views are absolutely beautiful. The local area is very nice. They're are some good beaches nearby and also plenty of bars/restaurants if you don't want to cook or fancy a pint. I had my own car, so can't really comment on how easy it is to get around on public transport. Thanks Carol.

  • We had an absolutely fantastic time at Greenhills Cottage! The location was breathtaking and the cottage was clean and spacious, with everything we needed, plus more!

  • Great home, very cosy and relaxing. Loved the design and great to meet Seamus and Carol, very helpful and friendly couple

    Mark2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Seamus' Cottage was the most sublime getaway. We were greeted by his lovely wife and were able to enter the cottage although we arrived a little too early. The house itself has a lovely atmosphere. The upper level is simply the highlight. Equipped with an open kitchen, a lovely living/sitting area with an electric fireplace and a CD-player. After visiting Sliabh Liag (which beauty is just indescribable), we spend a lovely, warm evening upstairs going through a very interesting book collection listening to classics, divas and legends =) The morning after we had breakfast on the deck just outside the 2nd level. It was chilly but the sun was out and the view towards to wild Atlantic was so worth it! The wifi didn't work, but hence the fact that we stayed only for a night, it didn't bother us much. All in all it was a perfect getaway and we would've stayed longer =) Thank you McBrearty family!

  • Carol was unable to meet us upon arrival but her friend graciously welcomed us to the cottage with a tour and description of amenities. Carol immediately introduced herself upon returning home and was a wonderful host during our stay, frequently checking on us to ensure our needs were being met. The cottage is very comfortable, clean, and well equipped. It was so comfortable that we slowed down our pace for the few days that we stayed at the cottage reading and relaxing. There are great views directly from the cottage and it is in a great location from which to explore the surrounding area.

  • This cottage was a gem hidden in Donegal with local amenities 2min drive away and all the beautiful walks and beaches you must not miss in Donegal. This is one of those places if you stay in it still offers beautiful scenery and serenity. In only two days we hiked the pilgrim path on slieve league went to see Malin beg Beach (the most beautiful beach personally found) drove Glengish pass and visited kellybegs twice. We didn't meet the host but everything was communicated clearly. Will visit this place again for sure. Highly recommended!

  • Fantastic views, in a secluded location with shops within walking distance. The cottage is beautiful, with a lot of care taken to restore it. Very well equipped and great host.

  • It was the perfect place. We felt really comfortable. The house is beautiful and the views stunning. We loved the fact there were a lot of games to play so the kids enjoy it and we did too. I recomend to anyone that wants to discover Donegal

  • This cottage, location and all the little extras that the owner provided made our few days here even more special. We would definitely recommend McCauley Cottage to friends and family, especially if they're looking somewhere quiet to unwind, curl up beside a log/turf burner and relax. Also the cottage is close to Slieve Liag and the folk village of Glen Colm Cille (15-20 mins driving distance) if you want that more active sight seeing break. Thank you for a great stay 5 Stars all round.

  • Beautiful views from the home. Tara is a great host! We had a few hiccups, but everything was quickly resolved! She even let us stay for a longer check out which was wonderful as we used it to just rest around the area.

    Sarah2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spot and lovely welcoming hosts. Would definitely stay again

    Jason2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is great with a fabulous view. The location is very central for driving around checking out all the beaches on the coast as well as being walking distance to the town.

    Catherine2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This home is truly a home away from home. Going above and beyond like breakfast, welcome notes and very specific directions made the experience that much better. We were able to walk to the local pub in the evening and catch a magnificent sunrise right outside our door in the morning. The beds were comfortable with fluffy comforter and pillows. If you are going to the area to visit the Sleive cliffs, drive the extra 4 mins to stay at this fantastic Airbnb

    Lisa2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tara was very flexible with check-in and helpful with communication. The house was great and just what we needed in a lovely bedroom with a comfy bed and pillows after an exhausting night at an Irish wedding! Even better than hoped for with provisions left for breakfast. I'm afraid my husband couldn't resist the chocolate biscuits and gobbled the whole packet, claiming a hangover as an excuse. The views from the front of the house were wonderful. Would highly recommend.

    Heidi2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Tara's place is amazing! It overlooks the valley and the village of Kilcar and the views are stunning. Sadly, we never did meet Tara or her mom, but there were notes to help us out when we arrived and follow up notes while we were sleeping in :) There's LOTS of space in the house and some of the most comfortable beds we've had while traveling. There is also a washer and dryer, which was a blessing for us as we had been traveling for several days before we got there. This is a great place to explore Slieve League and the surrounding beaches, and Tara has a lot of good info about where to go and what to do. We're looking forward to coming back as soon as possible!

    Travis2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tara's house is wonderfully positioned. It is only a short distance to the village and commands a lovely view of the glen below. The house has everything you could need with provision for breakfast. There are thoughtful touches throughout the house to guarantee your comfort. This is a lovely part of Donegal, being close to Muckross head and Slieve League.

We will be happy to share our knowledge of the area with its unique history, the recommended walking trails, beaches, and make recommendations of the places frequented by locals, including an insight into our national sports!

Located in an unique and tranquil setting right in the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way surrounded by miles of rugged coastline and unspoiled beaches It is an ideal location for walking, hill walking, fishing, sea angling, scuba diving, boat trips, cycling, horse riding, Golf or for a more relaxing pastime painting with some of the most wonderful scenes just waiting to be captured on our doorstep. • Carol and Seamus, Patrick's parents, immediately made us feel very welcome. They gave us tea and biscuits upon our arrival. The view of Slieve League from the deck was spectacular and all of the rooms were clean, neat, and comfortable. Following their suggestion to go out to the cliffs before the weather changed, we had a pleasant walk and enjoyed dinner at the recommended pub. Later it was wonderful to spend the evening by the fire chatting with Carol enjoying Irish Coffee (me) and Guinness (my husband). In the morning we were served a delicious full hot breakfast plus juice, cereal and toast. Carol gave us insights into some places we might visit while touring this part of Donegal and provided specific and valuable advice on where to meet our friends later that day. We truly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer!

  • We had a wonderful stay with Carol and Seamus. Their home is beautiful and has a great view of the mountains. The beds were VERY comfortable! Carol and Seamus were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was great as well! It was a little difficult to find our way as there are two houses in the same lot and they were gone at the time of our arrival, but once we found it everything was great! Would very highly recommend!

    Kristin2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with two friends and we absolutely adored Carol, her family, and her home. We were welcomed with tea and biscuits upon arrival and chatted about life in Donegal. Very convenient to the Slieve League Cliffs which were a highlight on our journey. When we returned, we stayed up late to chat with Carol and her husband over a few beers. She even showed us her hat collection. The beds were amazingly comfortable and provided us with much needed energy to continue on our journey. We are so hopeful that we are fortunate enough to return to Carol's cottage someday.

    Allison2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house is situated on the halfway from Kilcar to Carrick. The view from the kitchen on the back of Slieve league is magnificient and so is the mountain itself (the viewing platform for the cliffs si only 10 km drive). The full Irish breakfast was amazing and the hosts very kind and helpful with information. There is a lot to see and do in the surroundings so I highly recommend this place.

    Luka2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had one of our best and funniest stays in Ireland at Carol's B&B. The location of her house is just stunning. You can directly oversee the Cliffs of Slieve League. Her room was lovely designed and very clean and comfy. We had a great dinner with an couple from the US that was also staying at Carol's, found some new friends and enjoyed a late night chat with Carol and Seamus in front of her chimney. We enjoyed our stay at her B&B and can definetly recommend it. Thanks Carol!

    Stephanie2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • My two friends and I spent two nights at Carol's Cottage in March while exploring the sights of Donegal. This was by far our best Airbnb experience. Carol and her family are so welcoming. They treated us to tea and conversation by the fire upon arrival. We loved Carol and Seamus' dog, Mello! Their home is beautiful and in a wonderful location. Each morning, Carol made us a delicious Irish breakfast. We loved chatting with her throughout our stay and will miss her company! Would highly recommend Carol's cottage to anyone. It was truly a fantastic experience.

The kitchen has a gas cooker, grill, microwave, fridge and all the usual cooking utensils. There is 1 bathroom/WC with a shower. The main bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom has bunk beds and an additional single bed. There is another single bed available within the sitting room area. A central heating system heats water and keeps the house warm. Electricity, turf and logs are included in price. Boat trips are available from near by Teelin for angling or sightseeing Slieve League, the highest sea cliff in Europe.
There are 2 nearby beaches. Trá Bhán is a 5 minute walk away and is ideal for swimming, snorkelling and families - follow the sign posted directions from the cross roads entering Muckross. Trá Lathar is located directly below the School House - this beach has strong currents and is not suitable for swimming but is very popular with surfers. Located on the Wild Atlantic Way, the area is ideal for walking and climbing enthusiasts. Croagh Muckros, directly behind the School House, is a relatively gentle climb for hill walkers – access from the view point corner after the School House for a more gentle ascent. The walk to Muckross Head is a must for any visitors staying at the School House. At low tide it is possible to explore caves at the back of the head land. Muckross Head is also renowned for rock climbing – there is an unusual crag composed of sandstone with overhangs making excellent rock climbing conditions. Boat trips to view Slieve League (Sliabh Liag), europe’s highest sea cliff, depart from Teelin Pier near Carrick. If you are lucky you will be joined on your trip by dolphins, whales, seals or even basking sharks. Fishing Kilcar is 2km away - a few minutes by car or a pleasant 20 minute walk. The village has the principal tweed hand weaving facility in Donegal, with a shop Studio Donegal selling high quality tweed products. Áislann Chill Chartha is a community facility which includes a library, sports hall (basketball and indoor football), a fully equipped fitness suite, computer centre, and small theatre. There is a supermarket and several pubs. Traditional Irish music can be enjoyed in John Joe's Pub and is a lively night out, particularly at weekends. There is also Kilcar House and Carr's Pub. During July or August there is a festival of traditional music, Kilcar Fleadh, featuring live music and dancing in the street. Rainy days The Irish weather can be unpredictable! Feel free to borrow the board games and books within the School House on those days when you prefer to stay indoors in front of the fire and look out at the crashing waves.
  • Excellent, authentic cottage in a wonderful location. We just sat and looked out the windows for a long time. My only issue was that the shower drained very slowly, so that it would have overflowed if I had taken more than a four-minute shower.

  • What a stunning location, amazing in all weathers (we had sun, rain, hail, snow and wind!!). Peter's cottage is simply furnished, but comfortable and clean and equipped with everything you need for a stay in this beautiful corner of Ireland. We only booked for three nights, wish it had been longer.......

    Helen2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow this place has the most beautiful view. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking to get out onto the Irish coast. Definitely would stay again.

    Jordan2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place is the most breathtaking location you can possibly imagine. It overlooks directly Muckros Head in the Wild Atlantic Way. We loved every minute of being there and are already starting up plan to go back one day. It's cozy and has the most amazing view of any other place I've ever stayed in. Peter is quick to reply any inquiries and he's friendly. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

    Carlos2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we've stayed at Peter's place. The view is amazing and waking up to the sound of the ocean each morning was a great way to start the day. We will definitely be back again.

    Danny2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a great property secluded on the top of a hill looking over the Atlantic. A truly special place to be. We loved the place and the location so much we have already rebooked. Peter was a great host - was easy to communicate with and flexible with check in / out.

    Danny2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The schoolhouse was amazing. The view cannot be beat. Great place for some quiet time or exploring the area. Would return in a second!

    Brice2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Close your eyes and imagine the most beautiful Irish landscape you've ever seen. Now open them. You've arrived at Peter's schoolhouse. This place is pure magic. I could sit there all day watching the waves crash against the rocks as the silvery sun shines through the clouds, lighting green hills with stone walls and grazing sheep. The schoolhouse itself was perfect for us in many ways-it had a quick walk to the ocean through local farms, a secluded location with plenty of privacy, a cozy fireplace, and a sweet little kitchen with everything you need to cook simple breakfasts and dinners. It was by far one of the most amazing AirBnb experiences I've ever had and I was sad to leave. Thank you Peter for being such a wonderful host and letting us stay at your magical schoolhouse!

  • We were very happy with our stay. The 2 houses were perfect for our group of 2 families of 4 & a couple. The accommodation gave us lots of space and both houses were very well equipped. All but 1 of the rooms are ensuite. There were plenty of towels & soap etc. The location is great, it's a quiet and peaceful area with a view to the sea. There was seating and barbeques outside which we didn't really get a chance to use but it looked good. The wifi was not 100% reliable but it was fine most of the time. Kilcar is about 5 minutes walk away, there you will find a shop & a take away and several pubs. Tara was a wonderful host, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. She even organised an excellent babysitter for us which allowed us all a rare night out together. Something we all really appreciated- thank you! We also met Tara's father, again a pleasure to deal with. Overall I would highly recommend staying here, Donegal is stunning, the houses are great, the location is perfect and the hosts faultless.

    Diana2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great house in a great location. Ideal for friends and families to get away for a few days to explore the beauty of Donegal. Thanks to Tara and her folks they have looked after us so well from the initial booking to our stay, couldn't have done any more for us thank you.

    Paul2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing for families. The view is spectacular. It is actually split into two adjoining houses which at the start I was a bit hesitant about but it is actually really good, as you are all not living in each others pockets, and you can have some privacy if required. The only issue is that kids playing outside need to be very vigilant as the cars coming past the road at the front travel quite fast (although as little country road there were probably 8 cars all week). This was remedied by owner placing garden statues on road to creat a natural traffic calmer. Host is brilliant, house is great and the view is spectacular. Be sure to catch the Slieve League cliffs. They are ten minutes away and are spectacular!

    Barry2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were a big group of 10 adults and a baby. The house was perfect for us. We had barbecues with a lovely view. The beds are all very comfortable. The small village is in walking distance. Pubs, supermarket,..all you need:) The area is amazing. You can even walk to the coast. Amazing. Tara prepared a document with a lot of very helpful advices (Thanks again Tara). I hope we can come back soon.

    Anne-Katrin2017-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great, spacious house with an awesome view. The area is absolutely stunning and this house is just a short drive from the amazing cliffs of Slieve League. Tara was awesome to communicate with and left us a little present when we checked in. Also, she made sure the fire was well stocked with wood and coal each night! Overall, great experience.

    Paddy2017-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the view and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were close to the church in Carrick and would definitely recommend to other travelers.

    Dina2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 10 persons (including 2 teenagers) had a wonderful time in Kilcar. The house is an excellent base for exploring the environment: Siabh Liag, the pubs, the coast, Donegal... Tara left us plenty of tips. She is a great host, responded fast to our enquiries and made our stay one to remember. We would definitely go back!

This is a very comfortable cottage, with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean from the comfort of one's armchair. It is a 3 bedroom cottage, with sitting room, kitchen and family bathroom. ESB not included in price. Muckross is a popular location for tourists due to its spectacular scenery, rock climbing, surfing beach and safe family bathing beach. Dolphins are a common feature to be seen from the cottage and surrounding coastline throughout the summer months.
  • It's a very nice place if you want to have a quiet stay, very short walking distance from the beach (less than 5min). The house is large and nice, and Annemarie was kind with us and light up a fire in the house before our arrival wich was very appreciated. Please be aware that there's no pub or shop by walking distance and that you'll have to pay for electricity, has written in the description.

Located on the coastal road just outside of the quaint village of Kilcar, this beautiful house is the perfect holiday getaway. With an unobstructed view of idyllic Towney Bay, Maple Cottage is quietly cozy & warm and instantly feels like home.
Maple Cottage boasts a professionally designed interior that mixes traditional finishes with classic and modern pieces, adding a touch of whimsy. Oak herringbone flooring, a stone fireplace, and large oak beams feature prominently in the house, while two sets of sliding/folding doors in the living room will allow you to bring the outside in. Two bedrooms have en-suites with showers and the main washroom has a cast-iron claw foot tub. There is one queen size bed and two doubles. Additionally there are two single fold up cots. A flat screen tv and dvd/Blu-ray player with a selection of movies are on hand should you feel like staying in, however no cable is provided. Wi-Fi is available for those that need to stay in touch with the outside world. A small record collection is also available to provide a musical backdrop to your stay.
  • This is a wonderful, high end, newly built, home in one of the most scenic spots in Donegal. The small town of Kilcar is a delightful country walk from the house, O'Gara's pub is wonderful, the surrounding scenic vistas are unparalleled. Fiona and her father, Martin, (who lives 2 mins away) were very accommodating hosts. Highly recommend!

    Richard2016-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and an amazing view. We loved the decor of the house so much and opened the accordion doors every day to enjoy the great weather. We cooked in each night and every thing that we needed was in the stocked kitchen! Great stove/oven. We used the fireplace each night as well. Just a great house, we cannot wait to stay here again!

    Brian2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great genuine Irish experience, excellent house with beautiful relaxing view. The area especially to the North is well worth exploring including Aranmore Island. Will definitely stay there again if in the area.

    Geoffrey2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Maple Cottage was the perfect holiday house for our party of 3 energetic young boys, 2 exhausted parents, 1 thirsty Granny & 2 bouncy dogs.....we all loved the house and the location. Fiona was a breeze to communicate with and Martin welcomed us with smiles, treats & lots of local knowledge. The weather was typical Donegal weather but the house was the perfect place to sit and watch the rain & wind pass over until the sun ( and the Dolphins) came out. Easily accessible to stunning walks & drives and a short walk to the village and friendly pints in any of the bars. Loved lunch at Nancy's, Ardara, Special dinner at Kitty Kelly's & fish & chips on Slieve League, swimming at Port Noo & Muckross beach, home made pizza on the fab cooker, open fires and Netflix movies and of course....some wine. A stunning house in stunning surroundings, we will be back.

    Kath2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous trip to recharge the batteries! The photos don't do justice to the place. So nice to stay in such a luxurious cottage with the beautiful beaches and rugged landscape around us, all with the comfort of Netflix! A fantastic host with some lovely personal touches. We will definitely return.

    Andrea 2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing stay at Maple Cottage! The house was absolutely gorgeous--beautifully decorated and very new (I think we were within the first ten families to stay here). The views from the many floor-to-ceiling windows were stunning, and the town was a very pleasant 10 minute walk from the property. We were attending a family reunion in nearby Carrick, and Kilcar was a very quick (maybe 15 minute) drive away. We were also in perfect proximity to Slieve League and a number of great beaches. Fiona was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to any questions I had. She anticipated what information we'd need before I asked. Her father Martin met us to give us the key--wonderful guy. He toured us around the house and demonstrated how to use the appliances and lock the doors. He informed us of a leak in one of the showers that they were getting repaired after our stay (it was a bank holiday weekend). He stopped in to make sure everything was was going well for us (it was), and made himself very available for any questions or problems (we didn't have any). We had my very busy two-year-old nephew with us, and I was concerned the house might be TOO nice--there was a white faux fur rug and a quirky teacup display. We moved a few of the more fragile items to higher ground and kept our eyes on him and were fine. Do be aware that there are some attractive, mess-uppable things that you'll probably want to relocate if you're coming with little ones. We enjoyed the washer and dryer, the dishwasher, the great water pressure in our showers, and even a record player with a nice selection of vinyl. There were cooking staples (flour, olive oil, spices, milk, yogurt, jam) in the pantry and refrigerator and a loaf of brown bread waiting for us when we arrived. They had a printed out a list of restaurants, emergency numbers, and taxi service (the last of which we did use and were really happy with). It was just a beautiful vacation, and Maple Cottage is unlike anywhere I've stayed in Ireland throughout my four visits and many b and b stays--so airy, open, and hip. I would come back in a heartbeat.

  • I'd better start by noting that this is the best Airbnb we've yet stayed in - and we've stayed in quite a few! The location - in Donegal was the perfect base for us - the "wild Atlantic way" literally passing through this beautiful, remote village. There is authentic weaving to be seen in the village and fresh seafood on the doorstep ( we left with a large box of crab claws caught the night before ). The beaches are sensational and the cliffs - highest in Europe - unmissable. The Celtic heritage, both built and spoken here is strong. The house ("cottage" is an understatement) is brand new. Beautifully designed, superbly built and with million dollar views from almost every window, it is clearly a loved holiday home, not just a 'rental property'. The fixtures, fittings, furniture, linen, even the mattresses are second to none. Everything works. The welcome, from Fiona's father was great - even giving us butter which we'd forgotten. He was readily available and called to check that all was well. A perfect place to stay if you want an authentic Irish experience. We'll be back!

  • Fiona's place had fantastic views of nearby hills and the sea. It was spacious and very cozy. We enjoyed nights by the fire, and lovely walks out to the nearby point and beach.

This tastefully restored formed Sheep Farmer's cottage is ideal base for your visit to Donegal. Located on the Wild Atlantic Way just outside the village of Kilcar with Sleive League to the West and Killybegs and Donegal town to the south. This is an ideal place to settle into for a night or two and return to each evening after visiting the beautiful Donegal countryside. There are wonderful views from the cottage of Sleive League (Sliabh Liag) beyond.
A Chef's Kitchen with dining area and spectacular views, comfortable beds, central heating and a wood burning stove in the peaceful living room will ensure that you will love being here as much as I do.
The small village of Kilcar is in a Gaelteacht (Irish speaking) area but rest assured the locals all speak English as well! A small supermarket, a selection of bars all within walking distance or a short drive away from the cottage... Muckross Head is just a short walk away, the village centre is about 10 minutes walk and of course the location is ideal for day trips by car around this very special part of Donegal.
  • We stayed a couple nights in frank's cottage. It was an absolute delight to wake up to the gorgeous views of the wild atlantic (Slieve league)on one side and rolling hills of green on the other. The cottage itself is very tastefully done up,the Host put alot of thought into every single detail and it shows.Frank was warm, friendly, prompt and clear in communication. Will definitely be returning when we get a chance next.

  • Davids house is set beautifully and has amazing views to the sea. Though he wasn't there personally, everything was prepared for us and his neighbor was very nice and helpful. She even offered to pick us up after a long day of hiking! Though those were some rainy days, we still enjoyed staying here.

  • This has by far been the best Airbnb experience for us. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden and has a gorgeous view. David was on a holiday so his son Tom was our host. Tom was very friendly and made sure our stay was even more perfect. We had the living area for ourselves where we played games and could read our books next to the fireplace. The bed was huge and very comfortable and we had the bathroom for ourselves as well. In the morning breakfast was provided.

Teach Condy's is situated in Teelin in the South West of Donegal. You’ll love my place because of the location, the cottage is nested right at the bottom of Sliabh League (the highest sea cliffs in Europe) and only a stones throw from the nearest pub and coffee shop. You will love the ambiance, the views, my warm cosy stove and very comfy sofa for relaxing in the evening. My place is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
Please be advised, that there is one bedroom, that sleeps 3 (triple bunk) a kitchen with a pull out sofa bed (small double) and the living room has a larger pull out sofa bed (sleep 3). The house is compact, cosy, fully equipped, and directly on the roadside with view of the Sliabh League mountains.
Teelin is a beautiful part of the world where you'll find the magnificent "Sliabh League", the highest sea cliffs in Europe. They are 1972 feet above sea level, and If your brave enough you can climb to the peak via the scary one man's pass. Teelin is also a great place for fishing and it's pier has boat trips for anglers and families alike, weather permitting. Teelin is a Gaeltacht area however English is widely spoken and Irish language classes are available in the neighbouring village of Glen. As for entertainment, there are local pubs with frequent traditional music sessions, and the parish of Glencolmcille itself hosts some of Ireland's finest musicians.

  • Our group of four stayed in Teach Condy for 2 nights. We were visiting the area to do some hiking so the location was perfect. Linda's lovely dad met us in Carrick and showed us to the house and lit the fire for us. The house is cosy and very warm throughout our stay. The house has all you need for cooking, and the shower is decent with lots of hot water. Communication with Linda was brilliant she responded quick to any questions. The house is close to Carrick where there's a few pubs, and there was good craic and trad music the Tuesday night we were there. Linda's house is great value, and we really enjoyed our stay there, thanks!

  • Cottage is in a perfect rural location, nice and peaceful, and close to Slieve League cliffs, Linda's Dad Paddy met us in town and took us to the cottage, had the fire lit, and gave us the tour, my Husband, myself and our 2 wee doggies had such a relaxing weekend, we would definitely go back!

    Sonia2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, Paddy was waiting for us when we arrived and gave us good advices about the area. Maybe not a cottage for 6 people (we were four and it was enough but it is maybe too small for 6). We enjoy the area and the Sleave Leagues very close to the cottage !

  • Linda's cottage was in a great location ,secluded yet close to a small town Carrick with a fabulous pub.Linda was great in communicating with us and her place had everything we needed.Linda's enthusiasm for the Irish way of life was great! The bunkbed suited three adults and the pull out couch was warm and cozy in front of the little fireplace. We would definitely come back again!

  • Linda's place was perfect for our visit to Teelin and Sleive Leag. It was nice to have a place to ourselves where we could unwind and come/go as we pleased. If you're outdoorsy, Linda's place is awesome!! We jogged up the mountain road to the cliffs, which was right outside our door. It has a wonderful hot water radiator system for heat if you need it, and the shower was amazing! Linda was more than helpful with suggestions and ready to help if needed. We had a great time at her place. Loved having a washer to clean up a bit of laundry too. Thanks, Linda and Paddy! We hope to come stay again. It was wonderful.

  • We were disappointed with this listing. The picture of this location is not what the place currently looks like. The name is now "The Bridge Bar". The address is also misleading as it states the location is "Main Street, Donegal , Donegal County" when it is actually located in Carrick. The location is great and very near the cliffs and food, but would have been better if our messages were answered and we didn't have to drive 2 hours out of our way, to Donegal and back, looking for this listing. Also be advised that this is self catering only, no option for B&B as listed on site. If this listing were truthful I would not have booked because it did not meet my needs. However, it is a nice space and would meet the needs of larger groups and those looking for the self catering option. My husband and I both agree that this listing was overpriced for what was provided and underwhelming in service.

The house looks out over the Atlantic ocean and Sliabh Liag (Europe's highest sea cliffs). Ideal for friends, families and individuals seeking an isolated retreat with the option to explore the Wild Atlantic Way or the warm atmosphere in Donegal.
The house has central heating and a wood-burning stove to make sure that, no matter how angry the weather is, you are always warm.
Cill Charthaigh (Kilcar) is a Gaeltacht village consisting of a few shops and four pubs. The village has the principal tweed hand weaving facility in Donegal, with a shop - Studio Donegal - selling high quality tweed products. Kilcar is well known for its tradition in knitting. Áislann Chill Chartha is a community facility which includes a library, sports hall (basketball and indoor football), a fully equipped fitness suite, computer centre, and small theatre. It also has exhibits based on the history of South West Donegal and usually has a revolving exhibition of historic local photographs. Very scenic area of the south west of Donegal boasting a number of pristine blue flag beaches. The property overlooks Donegal bay with excellent views of the Sligo coastline. Local boat trips are offered to visit Sliabh Liabh.

  • This place is a gem. Wonderful location and beautiful house with space and great features. Communication was easy as was gaining access to the house. It was somewhat hard to find on my own but someone was standing by to meet me nearby and took me quickly to the house. It was hard to leave and I hope to be able to go back some day.

  • David's place is secluded in a beautiful spot, and yet it is nearby the sights and activities with a car. Donegal County is a beautiful place! David's house is well kept, clean, and very airy with all the light, and the views are fabulous! It has all the modern amenities to use. The beach is about a 15 min walk from the house, the harbour nearby is another 15 min of walking. It is my favourite place so far on my Irish trip. I certainly would come back!

  • The location of the house is simply stunning & well worth the remote mountainous drive to get there. We did almost get lost finding the house, but were quite fortunate to find the small silver gate leading to the house. Coming up from Kilcar, which is perhaps the nearest little village or Carrick depending on which direction you're coming from, the house is approx a 10min drive away. The house is a great size for parties of at least 4, any less than that and it might feel a bit too big. We took my fiance's parents and her sister and little niece with us & it was perfect. The house does have pretty much everything you could need, a fully loaded kitchen with electric stove, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge, kettle and coffee machine. The house also has a utility room with a sink and washing machine. There is a clothes rack to hang out any washing and also a clothes line outside. There is one double room with an en-suit, another double room with a double bed & single bed and another bedroom with two single beds. There are two separate bathrooms in the house, one on the ground floor and one upstairs. One has a shower and one has a bath. Perhaps my favourite room in the house was the main lounge, which has a wood burner in it. That was great for the evenings, and we often retired to that room in the evenings. There is a radio in the lounge and a book case outside the room with an assortment of books. If you're looking for something to eat, then Carrick has a good Chinese Take-Away. We went there twice during our trip and the portions were generous. We were very fond of their dry crispy honey chicken. You get a rice dish with each main you order. Also in Carrick was a great little pub/restaurant called Hegarty's. A little gem with tasty food. Also in Carrick is a handy mini supermarket, prefect for stocking up the house. One thing to note is that there are no curtains or blinds in the kitchen or lounge. This wasn't a problem, but could be very bright I would imagine in summer months. This did mean that the house warmed up during the day when the sun was out. Also, as the house is fed by a water tank, it meant that only one person at a time can use the shower, otherwise the water pressure would suffer. You simply couldn't put a price on the view that you will get from the location, and we all had a fantastic time in Doonan. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back.

Half the money you pay goes to Friends of the Earth. Welcome to the Blue House on the Wild Atlantic Way in South West Donegal. (Eircode: F94 C796) Note that the house is between Kilcar and Carrick, Co. Donegal. Upstairs room with private access from garden upper deck. Features twin or superking double bed (please specify). Has private upper deck with commanding views of estuary and Slieve League. Shared bathroom.
Welcome to the tranquil Blue House. We trust you will have a relaxing stay. We will provide you with a continental breakfast – eat at any time (until 11 am). You have the exclusive use with other guests of the sitting room/dining room. The downstairs bathroom (including toilet) can be used by all guests. There are tea and coffee making facilities upstairs on the landing, and downstairs in the sitting room, where a variety of herbal teas are available. Please feel free to play DVDs on your own laptops. There are games in the cupboard next to the kitchen door … help yourself! The house is positioned to enjoy fabulous views of the Teelin estuary and Sliabh Liag mountain. Please feel free to explore the garden. There are many quirky seating areas, some on ‘aerial’ decks. Carrick (1 km), the local village, has two supermarkets, three pubs (two do meals), two take-aways. Kilcar (3 km) has four pubs, two supermarkets, Studio Donegal tweed outlet.
  • My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at the Blue House for two nights in July 2016, it was a lovely house, which had stunning views and is situated in a beautiful area of Donegal. There was no WIFI, limited 4G, and TV or radio which was perfect for us, however there are stacks of DVDs to watch if you wish to bring your laptop along. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome by Thomas our host. I would highly recommend this premises and we would certainly stay here again.

  • Lovely house in beautiful location with fantastic garden full of different plants and even fresh plums. Great stack of books - good for walking, swimming in the sea nearby etc... Rooms were beautiful. David is a great host, generous with the tea, coffee and conversation and has lived in the area a long time and knows it very well. Next time we will try and get to the pub to hear him play the fiddle.

    Paula2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The BEST Airbnb I have ever had! The instant we got there we wanted to stay forever. The house and garden are beautiful with lots of space and coziness and stunning surroundings. David is the perfect host. He creates a very welcoming and irish-british atmosphere especially by playing the fiddel in the mornings. He has great recommendations to literally breathtaking spots and to more Irish music in the local pub. Don't go there so this unique spot will stay a secret!

    Nicki2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the wonderful lavender room, which offered complete silence and our private balcony even led to a carefully grown garden! David was a very friendly host and made us feel welcome. The house itself is in really good shape and and the views are stunning. Additionally, it was very close to Slieve League and with David's advice we managed to find it easily. And on top of all of that we were even offered soy milk for breakfast, a huge plus for vegans like my daughter. We highly recommend this place!!

    Katharina2016-07-04T00:00:00Z

  • The house and town are super charming. Very close to Slieve League Cliffs and Sliabh Liag road. The amenities are definitely rustic, but Cat explained everything to us and let us know that if we had any problems (which we did not) we were free to get in touch with her any time. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom are both clean and have everything you’d need them to. We appreciated the cards and board games she had for us, and enjoyed a Pint (or two) at the Rusty Mackerel just up the road!

  • This rustic, clean home was quite unique. It has aged nicely and as described in the posting it was quite well situated for great views the great Ireland cliffs

    Sylvia2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cat's place is absolutely lovely. I've been staying in B&B's for almost 3 months straight and know immediately if I'll enjoy it. I walked in and decided to extend my stay by an extra night right away. It's pretty and clean, on the inside and out. Cheerful yellow and white exterior and cute decor. Another perk? It's only 1 mile from the Slieve League Cliffs! I hiked it 3 times. Highly recommend staying at this B&B.

    Marina2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved Cat's cottage. It's in a quiet and beautiful location, and, despite its quaintness, has all the mod cons you could want. Cat herself is a thoughtful and generous host, available but not intrusive. She had lovely warm fires made for us when we got home each day, too. I want to *live* in Cat's cottage!

    Kathy2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very short but lovely stay. The fire was lit for our arrival and Cat has provided and set up a travel cot for our 8 month old who slept amazingly! Cat was away so didn't meet her, but her partner came to check if we were all ok and to let us know where he was if we needed anything. The cottage is in a lovely location with easy access to the Slieve League cliffs. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The cottage is so cozy and charming and close to a little grocery store and most important super close to apiece league and silver strand beach! Mary also was very accommodating and is available to help very quickly. We cannot wait to come back here!

  • We liked the house. Simple, clean and in the heart of Gaeltacht area - perfect place if you want explore beautiful clean sandy beaches in Donegal, enjoy Irish music ( you have to check in local pubs) or to climb Slieve League. Even abroad, Mary promptly responded to small problem with heating and thanks to help of neighbors it was solved very quickly. We would recommend for people who need cozy place to return after day spent outside in wild & nice west Donegal.

    Sarah2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mary´s cottage is even cosier than in the pics -clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, well equipped, WIFI... All worked perfect. The location is lovely with the nearby river, and very convenient to reach Slieve League if you like hiking. There's pubs and convenience stores closeby too. Mary was not there herself upon our arrival, but we she left clear instructions on how to get to the house and find the key. She also left complimentary tea and biscuits for us, and recommended things to do around the area. A great experience in general!

    Marta2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was an excellent host. Communication from the beginning of the booking process through to check out was brilliant. Mary left supplies for our arrival including Easter eggs for the kids. The house is great with everything you need for a week in Donegal (including the all important Wi-fi for those with teenagers). We would not hesitate to return and have already recommended to friends and family.

We loved waking up to the sun and the river, just outside our bedroom window. We think we have found a home from home in Donegal. Thank you so very much, Mary: we cannot wait to go back!

Kenneth hosted us in a beautiful, spacious room that had beds for all 3 of us overlooking a portion of Slieve League. The house is a 2 minute walk from the village which consists of two convenience stores and a few pubs, a post office, etc.
  • Great location to explore The area and cliffs! Roomy and great house with all you need in a home base! Micheal was excellent at communicating and assisting with area information!

  • Very comfortable and spacious house within walking distance from the pubs and restaurants. We were only with three, but it could easily host six people comfortably. It is also perfect as starting point to visit Slieve League. The communication with Michael was good and timely. Overall we had a pleasant stay, absolutely recommendable.

  • From the moment we drove up the hillside to the lovely house, then found the tea, coffee and chocolate left by our thoughtful host, we knew it was gonna be a great weekend. The house is so spacious, with lots of facilities and Michaels instructions/guidance made it all so easy. As promised, only a 2min walk to the village with pubs, eateries and a short drive to Killybegs for a spot of lunch in the harbour too. Great experience, thoroughly recommend anyone to stay at Michaels and enjoy what Carrick has to offer

  • Perfect place to set out for a hike to slieve league cliffs. Just beautiful.

    Mary2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for climbing the Slieve League Cliffs. Our rooms were equipped with everything we needed, although the heating was off during the night and it got a bit cold. The double bed was a bit narrow for two people, which mostly bothered my wife. Other than that, our host was very flexible with check in time and he made us a delicious Irish breakfast next morning. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Dejan2017-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed Kenneth's place, it was located (just as he described) walking distance to hike the cliffs. Unfortunately, we stayed during intense rain and fog, and walked a bit around the area, but were not able to enjoy the hike as we planned.

    Gina2017-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I would say the place to stay is worth 5 start

It's located very close to the Slieve Leagues so you can go by walk. It's perfect to rest and breathe fresh air ! Also, Kenneth and the housekeeper were very attentive to us, recommending lovely places to visit. The breakfast was perfect too ! We wish to could come back soon ! Thanks !

The Round House overlooks Fintra Bay and has stunning panoramic views of beautiful Donegal Bay. Situated in the foothills of Crownrad Mountain, a delightful waterfall cascades into several pools on the property. The perfect place to surround yourself in nature. This unique home, built in the 1970's by an american writer still retains most of it's original charm. Located just 2km from the picturesque fishing village of Killybegs, there is also shopping and restaurants.
The round house, which is made of Cedar is open plan design with windows maximising the stunning view of the atlantic ocean and Donegal Bay. Flat screen TV with satellite channels and free wifi.
The house in located on the beautiful Mount Crownard. It is enclosed in its own fenced area with parking and a beautiful stream and waterfall(which is lovely to go under when weather permits) that runs alongside.
  • Booked last minute for a short break for my husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary and wasn't disappointed, love Co Donegal but had never been to this part before, love this time of year as not many people about and we have the stunning beaches nearly to ourselves, even love the weather. This beautiful little gem was perfect for us, we just love quirky and this place is all of that. Ursula is a great host and we didn't want for anything. Great location for discovering this part of Ireland.

    Jackie2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning view

    Håkan2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Ursula's Round House. We would have had a rough time finding the house but luckily we had family in town who were able to show us the way. Everything we needed was available including fresh spring water in the fridge and a few beers as well. Everything was very clean. Our only complaint was that the wifi was spotty the first day and didn't work for us on the second day. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Thank you Ursula!

    Kathleen2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Round House is a wonderful location for exploring Donegal and Ursula is a very thoughtful host. The house has sensational panoramic views but is reached in just a few minutes from the main highway - no long hauls along country lanes! The house in general and the kitchen in particular is well equipped for self catering with good quality utensils, Most importantly the house has a lovely homely feel to it. Thanks Ursula!

    Keith2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to stay at!! It's very homely and cosy and all items you require for daily living in a house. Those views out the Windows are BEAUTIFUL to see!!! Each day it looks different too because of the different weathers, Ireland famous for 4seasons of weather in one day . There is a lovely beach very near by that's perfect for walking on with doggies. Also plenty of places to drive too seeing around the area. Lovely little cafes spotted and tried!. This house is suited for adults who want a quiet & peaceful break away from a busy world. To relax, read, listen to music, walks, TV and get a few games of scrabble fitted in! The highlights of staying here for us was the views from all the Windows, within a cosy round house, in a quiet area. It's also pet friendly house with grass areas around - our 2small dogs were very content while staying there. Thank you we loved our stay at The Round House!

    Bradley2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, secluded enough but not in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful views.

    Brian2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ursula was very welcoming on arrival. We arrived late and she kindly had pizza and beer waiting for us in the fridge on arrival. There were also small personal touches such as cards left for taxis and a folder with places on interest nearby which added to the experience. The view from the house was spectacular! And the bonus was the friendly dog who greeted us every time we arrived back from somewhere.

  • Gorgeous, spotless, peaceful, roomy and cosy cottage with seaviews from the top sitting area. The bathrooms were very modern with a great shower and bath. We needed to change our booking and Tom kindly obliged. We have stayed at many Airbnb properties, this is the first accommodation with lovely, sharp knives and no room scents, which is great for us allergy sufferers. The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped with quality equipment, and everything you could need, and more. Comfy, cosy beds, sofa and armchairs. We had trouble getting up in the morning the beds were so comfy and the cottage so quiet. Super-fast broadband and large TV. Our hosts welcomed us with lovely treats and gave us lots of local info. The cottages is in such a beautiful area with lots to see. Nobody does hospitality better than the Irish, we didn’t want to leave!

  • I can't overstate how amazing this place is - the location, the hosts, the stylish space, the spotlessness, the coziness. We didn't want to leave! It was exactly as pictured - but even better as the hosts took the efforr to decorate for Christmas. We absolutely loved it and would like to have stayed forever!

  • A stylish two floor cottage with lots of homely touches. This is a perfect getaway spot with lots of beautiful beaches, caves, scenic drives and a waterfall within a few miles. Sylvia and Tom were great at communicating and couldn't have been more helpful even recommending lots of local restaurants and points of interest- Kitty Kelly's restaurant was a highlight for us. We would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
