Vacation Rentals in Kearny

Just booked in Kearny

Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • Maria's place is truly as charming as it looks in the photos. The location is fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend Maria's place to anyone who's looking for an opportunity to have an authentic Brooklyn / New York experience.

  • We loved this place! Nice size (and clean!) apartment for the three of us in an awesome location! Walkable to all of our favorite parts of Williamsburg. Communication with Maria as well as Azul was clear and effortless. Looking forward to returning in the future! Thank you!

  • friendly host, place was clean, good location

  • My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to be the first people to stay at Maria's property and we wished we had never left. This place is about as New York as it gets, gorgeous wood and brick apartment on the top floor of a converted warehouse in the heart of Williamsburg. The place has a cosy, romantic feel with quirky pieces of art. Maria's partner Greg met us and helped us out with all the local places to hangout. I'd recommend Williamsburg as THE place to stay in NY if you want to stay within 5 minutes of loads of cafes, restaurants, vintage stores and markets. The subway is only a 10 minute walk. You can even walk over the Williamsburg bridge to the lower east side, a fab way to see the lights of NY city and it only takes about 45 minutes. LOVED this place!!!

    Jessica2012-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • From start to finish our stay in Brooklyn was dreamy! Maria was really helpful and fast to reply for all my questions before I booked and made sure I was happy. On the build up before the trip, she was also very helpful and made everything very easy! The room is beautiful, the pictures dont do it justice, the brickwork, the hipster vintage feel, the super soft bedsheets and all the little ornaments make you feel like youre in your own slice of Brooklyn! The location is ideal, a 10min walk to the metro which is 3 stops from central Manhattan. Within 30mins you can be walking up 5th Ave! Williamsberg is also a delight with its fancy shops and carefree attitude, and staying here meant we were right in the heart of it with loads to do! We loved our time here, Maria and Azul were helpful and great hosts and we cant wait to come back!

    Ashley2014-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is a special place and a destination in itself. Maria's apartment is a fun combination of new and old, with some real museum-worthy items mixed in. Maria is very well-organized and a great host. We had a few "special needs" with arrival and departure times, which Maria and Azul graciously accommodated. (PS. The place is very clean--much appreciated.) Thank you!

    Jytte2014-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Maria's apartment is wonderful and looks just like in the pictures. The subway is within walking distance (about 10min), also there are restaurants and a supermarket in the neighbourhood. Maria and Azul were both extremely friendly and reliable and both were always quick to answer any messages. Highly recommended!

    Marlene2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • My stay in Maria's lovely apartment was wonderful from booking through check-out. Her assistant, Azul, met me at check-in and was really helpful with my luggage and showing me around the apartment. It was well air-conditioned, which was a welcome surprise as A/C in NYC apartments can be spotty. The bed was also really comfortable. I highly recommend Maria's apartment. It is located centrally to all the best spots in Williamsburg -- easy walking to coffee shops and there is even a wine store across the street.

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 300+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy if you wish and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • We have just come back from our trip in New York. Everything has been wonderfull and part of this has benn Carol and Marc. Their house is just incredible, in a very nice neighbourhood, and both of them are such a good persons who likes to make things easy for their guest. Thank you for every thing. We are sure we will go again,

    CRISTINA2013-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • thank you very much Carol and Marc, I spent very nice time. rooms are very nice and cozy and, needless to say, surprisingly large. Carol is very kind and helpful about everything about staying. marc is so smart and I enjoyed talk around my work and Japan. (thank you for coming our exhibition!!) the last day, we saw 2014 Winter Olympics on TV together. I enjoyed the time and I felt you are the host family(host parents) of me!!

    Tomohiko2014-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay with Carol and Marc. The place is very well located and all facilities are there in order to make your stay pleasant. They were also very helpful and it great vompany as well. Highly recommended to stay here!

    Daniel2014-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts asked us to describe our New York experience in just three words, and I came up with "exceeded all expectations!", and the same expression would also apply to the accommodation, location and facilities provided and especially to the assistance, advice and care shown my daughter and I during our stay (Dec 27th until 4th Jan 2015) with Carol and Marc. We quickly realized that we didn't have to use the guide books we had brought with us, as the suggestions they gave us regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, places to visit etc. meant that we could relax in the knowledge that their extensive research of the local area and NYC generally would lead us to "discover" for ourselves some amazing places. For example they recommended a restaurant "Northern Spy", a few blocks from the apartment, which has a wonderful ambience and some of the best food I have ever eaten! They were happy to explain how to move around midtown and even where I could find a FedEx office that was open at 8pm... My daughter and I had a wonderful vacation and it was in no small part due to our hosts and their beautiful apartment. I cannot recommend highly enough.

    Phil2015-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely adored Carol and her husband's place. Beautiful area in Soho, everything is walking distance (restaurants, bars, etc.), very clean as well, plus amazing hospitality! Would love to stay here again the next time I'm in NYC. Also, Our flight did not leave until later that night of our check out, Carol happily allowed us to keep our luggage there so we could explore some more and come back to retrieve it before our flight. So sweet, thanks again!

  • Jeffrey was incredible! Extremely friendly and laid back. Super close to all public transportation and an easy walk to everything. 10/10 would stay again.

    Roxanne2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a relaxed stay. Jeffrey was a great host. He was easy-going and welcoming. He was passionate about his work and would love to chat with the guest. He would even prepare hot coffee and light breakfast every morning. Jeffrey was knowledgeable and would love to offer suggestions and recommendations for the guest to visit during the stay. The location was accessible to public transit and there was a variety of restaurants and deli stores in walking distance. The room itself was comfortable and quiet. I enjoyed the stay and hope to see him again in NYC.

    Yuhan(Hans)2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is legendary. Location is super convenient, Jeff is very relaxed and friendly man with great sense of humor. Flat itself is very nice, clean and colorful. Jeff even do breakfasts and iced teas/coffees for guests, which is so appreciated in cruel NYC July. This place is really something and can't be missed. Thank you, Jeff.

    Albert2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff is very warm-hearted, and prepares breakfast for me everyday. He has been living in NYC for over 20 years, and he knows everything about NYC. More importantly, he is willing to talk with me and tell me where to go for fun and how to go there. The living place is extremely convenient to anywhere in Manhattan, and only 10 minute walk to subway station. I hope I can be at his place again next time I visit NYC.

    Shizhen2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff is really nice and helpful, enjoy the stay :)

    Sukie2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was an excellent host for my short stay in his apartment. On arrival, he greeted me and made chicken soup - which was much appreciated following a substantial journey from London. Jeffrey was a friendly, helpful and interesting host and was able to provide an insight into New York life and history that would be unattainable from a hotel stay. The location of the apartment is also great - walking distance to Central Park, Midtown and the High Line. I would definitely recommend Jeffrey's place for those looking for a personal and well located stay in NYC.

    Callum2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey's place is awesome. Great location. The room is clean, quiet and comfy. Jeffrey was always ready to help with more than I could ask for. Superó mis expectativas, regresaría y lo recomiendo.

    Max2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Michelle's. Everything was clean and comfy. The little kitchenette was perfect for coffee and tea in the morning. There are also lots of nice little cafes and stores within walking distance. We drove down and easily found parking on the street. Because there was a snowstorm the weekend we visited, we left our car parked and used Uber to get into Manhattan which was very convenient. We would definitely stay again!

    Dan2015-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy apartment and lots of food and bar options nearby

    Courtney2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying in NY and the convenience of the apartment in Lower East Side was a perfect location. As described in Airbnb the location had many cafes delis and bars easy access to the subway and getting ourselves into mid-town, Lower West Side and Upper Manhattan. The positives out way the negatives which were minor but necessary to mention so there is an opportunity for improvement. Katherine was obliging and left detailed information for most things we needed. Katherine stated that that a cleaner comes in to clean up after guess well I think they may have forgotten to do so before we arrived. A couple of suggestions: we found that the place was not cleaned very well, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and the coffee pot was dirty and left on the stove. The matches left to light the stove did not ignite which was frustrating as we wanted a coffee after our long journey. Though little things they are not what you want to deal with when coming in from a long trip and having to do a clean-up. Though Katherine left us advice if the toilet played by jigging the handle to for it to flush, it was on the last night we were there and we had to work it manually to flush each time the toilet was used it was completely non functional the handle (we left a note to advise Katherine about the toilet the morning we left). It may be necessary for the apartment to be checked for all the above concerns before new guests arrive. Also it would have been helpful if there were instruction for the use of the TV as we are not techno savvy, it took us ages to figure out how to work the remotes. Katherine was an efficient in providing all the necessary information we needed while staying at her place. She was friendly when we spoke the night we arrived giving instructions of where to locate the key. I would recommend this apartment despite the few issues we had. So thank you Katherine I hope the suggestions will be helpful to you. Lorraine and Bev

  • We were let into the apartment on time, the unit is very accurate to pictures, clean and comfortable. My favorite aspect was one all of the light, it's on the fifth floor with a great view, and two the accessibility of this apartment, Right outside the apartment is great coffee fresh juices awesome bars and some of the best pizza I had in the city. We walked to little Italy and Soho from the unit, and right around the corner was the subway. Great find.

    Xia2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, clean, quiet, and right in the middle of the hip Lower East Side. Perfectly located near the subway, great coffee and restaurants, shops, and nightlife. Easy and clear communication. We loved our stay here!

  • The apartment is as advertised location is great: walking distance from SOHO and the villages and a subway station around the corner. the equipment and furniture are relatively new in good condition, well equipped kitchen (no coffee maker though) the room was well cleaned . We enjoyed staying and will be back

  • What a great place for a girls weekend in manhattan! Chester and Jon made the check in process so easy and provided everything to us that we could possibly need for our stay. Knowing that we were having a celebratory weekend, they even left a bottle of champagne in the fridge for us! To me, it's these little thoughtful details that matter. The loft itself was absolutely gorgeous! The pictures shown are an exact representation of the loft and the private elevator made us feel extremely safe. We would definitely rent the loft again for our next girls weekend!

  • This TriBeCa apartment is spacious and supremely well located. Close to all subway lines and a block from Canal Street, it makes for a perfect base for a visit to NYC. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen super, including an excellent coffee machine, and the apartment quite comfortable. Our hosts were polite and engaging, and made us feel welcome. No complaints. This is a good option if you are visiting New York with 4-6 people. Highly recommended.

    Danny2014-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it here. Our host was very responsive as we were getting ready to arrive and warm and welcoming. The space was clean, beautiful and comfortable and our only surprises were good ones, like the fresh espresso beans and the cool chandelier. Fun neighborhood. I'll stay here anytime I'm in NYC.

    Audrey2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect... Great apartment, great location and great host! We could not have asked for more for our NYC experience and our first Airbnb experience. The loft was huge, well appointed, private and secure. Will be recommending to our Aussie friends ;)

  • We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous, extremely well appointed and meticulously clean apartment in TriBeCa. Jon was a fantastic host who was responsive and helpful every step of the way. I can highly recommend this apartment.

  • Amazing place :) great location. Jon was very friendly and responsive

    Sameer2014-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful experience. The apartment is fantastic. Spacious, bright, contemporary and well equipped. The kitchen and baths are top-of-the-line. The host greeted us personally, showed us around and then came back to make sure we were fine. The area is a lot of fun with many cute restaurants and conveniences. One of the best airbnb experiences I have had.

    Cathleen2015-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing..... This place is in a great position based in TriBeCa. The rooms are massive and are very comfortable beds. It has very thing you need for the live at home experience. Very convenient position for transport and restaurants. We will definitely be coming back to this place. Jon and Chester the hosts went over and above what was expected, which made the stay so much more enjoyable.

This clean and very comfortable room in the East Village has spectacular views of downtown Manhattan and is a block away from Tompkins Square Park and we are very excited to share our space with you! Thanks for taking a look.
This listing is for 1 bedroom in a 3 bedroom luxury duplex with a large private terrace on East 9th Street. The Apartment: Just one block off Tompkins Square Park in an elevator building. The apartment is a large luxury 2-floor, 3-bedroom, 2-bath duplex in Alphabet City/ East Village and a short walk away from Lower East Side, West Village, SoHo, Noho, Chinatown, Little Italy, and the rest of downtown Manhattan! The Room: A large, bright room with a very comfortable queen-sized bed, AC, large closet, and spectacular views of lower Manhattan. The Host: Friendly, creative female who loves to travel, write, make movies, listen to music, and meet new people! I've lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and have lots recommendations for favorite coffee shops, bars, restaurants, bookstores, museums, and anything else you can think of in the city. Feel free to write if you have any questions!
East Village/ Alphabet City has tons of cafes and bars and is a great place to explore the rest of the city from.
  • Reka and her housemate, Erin, were great hosts! Not fussy and most of the time, left me with the house where I could watch Netflix (if only I had time!). My room was spacious, considering NY's tight apartments, clean and i was given lotsa hangers for my clothes! The apartment was neat and tidy, and there's a deck where you can enjoy the sun and view during Spring and Summer (I was there in Winter). I like the neighborhood, with lotsa awesome eateries (that Sandwich place Reka recommended), UpState (1st Ave), Wafles and Dinges (East Village)... you will never be left with lousy food options. I enjoyed the vibe of the neighborhood (you just gotta explore). The place is 10-15min walk from the subway station, but walking is not a problem for me unless I have lotsa shopping, which i will take a bus. The block is surrounded by quite a few bus stops so it was easy for me to get around Manhatten with just 1 bus ride, if you choose to ride the bus. I almost never have to take the cab here in my 2+ wks stay. Enjoy your stay at Reka!

    Christina2014-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • In short: Great apartment, excellent location, and super nice hosts. I recommend staying here to anybody enjoying the close location to the pulse of East Village while still in a quiet neighborhood for your night sleep in a fresh apartment with a great terrace. Don't forget to ask for restaurant tips - this source beats all guide books and blogs our there.

    Mattias2014-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Reka was a great host, made all facilities available. Room was in a great location, one important thing for me was a good air conditioner which worked great on the warm nights. Both herself and Erin her room-mate were informative and helpful.

    Robert2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Reka & Erin in NY was nice :) The apartment is in a great location - walking distance to good bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. The apartment was clean & tidy - the rooftop patio was not in great condition but they assured us it's because they've just come out of a rough winter so I'm sure it will be nice to use during summer. Reka was easy to communicate with and was flexible when we requested a late check out. The only down side is that the listing mentioned we'd be staying with Reka & her housemate Erin but when we got there, there was 2 more guests staying in another room next to us…also sharing the bathroom/living space & kitchen. Made for a couple awkward encounters with an older couple. Had we known there was going to be 6 people in the apartment at one time we may not have booked. Perhaps just confirm this with Reka before securing your booking. Aside from that, it was a comfortable stay - would recommend :)

    Sally2014-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Reka's and Erin's home - they always helped us finding the best places in the neighbourhood (which is central and really nice with all the bars, cafés, the parc...ask them for the great bagel place ;-) We could use the kitchen as well as the fridge and especially loved the amazing view on Manhattan from the terrace!

    Felicia2015-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay with reka. GREAT location in alphabet city. Walking distance to anything you want. Nearby L train. I felt free to come and go as I pleased. The room was cute and there is an ac unit if needed.

    alyssa2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Reka was a great host, she always made sure we had everything we needed (wifi, information on good restaurants, grocery stores,...). She was very busy with work so we basically had the appartment to ourselves all day. It was very nice to have our breakfast in the morning on her sunny rooftop balcony with a beautiful view on parts of Manhattan. The neighboorhood is really nice, with lots of good restaurants and bars. The appartment is close to a metro station (a 10 min walk) so all other neighboorhoods of Manhattan are in fact very close by!

    Jan2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Reka was really flexible, on our last day she lets us leaving our luggage and took our time to check out so that was a really great positive as we were on different schedules and needed that flexibility. She was also very responsive to answer the questions.

A stunning private suite in a 1800's Harlem Brownstone FEATURED IN THE NEW YORK TIMES HOME SECTION! This room has exceptional design features (read below), luxury amenities, brand new bathroom and totally renovated with historical flair.
A two floor walk-up through a stunning hallway with beaten silver walls and moroccan tiles brings you to the front door of your suite. The studio apartment is a serene space in dreamy shades of white and pale lavender-grey. Two walls are covered in contrasting trompe l'oeil wallpapers. The "tongue in cheek" looks create depth, vision and perspective. One displays a wall of "books" and ivy, and the other ornate molding panels with visuals of antique garden urns. Instant drama! The fireplace (which is non-working for now for your safety) is dressed in carved ledges and faded mirrors. The floors throughout are Mongolian teakwood with hand aged original brick walls and soft lighting, including a signature old light fixture which casts radiant rays on the ceiling. The graceful cream queen four poster bed is fitted with a dream "Casper" mattress made of two technologies for a better night's sleep, as well as Belgian stone washed linens and waffle weave towels. Antique furniture including a French resting chaise, a 60's bench, marble side tables, old folk art figurine and vintage photos fill the space with comfort and lightness. The bathroom glows with an entire wall of beveled mirrored panels that could not be photographed here and with exquisite Roman tiles, new glass shower, and a rain shower head. A "smart" tv with netflix movies, air-conditioner and heating add to the amenities of this very fine living space. The suite also incudes a compact wet bar area with kitchen sink, marble counter, small fridge, microwave, slow cooker, toaster oven coffee & tea maker. There are lovely handmade plates, glasses, cups and dishes for your use. Please note there is no stove top. I call this suite "HEAVEN" because it relaxes you and allows you to dream. The windows outfitted with new solar shades overlooks the beautiful backyard. This space comfortably fits two people. What people say upon arrival is that this is better then the photos which I have to admit are good:) But these are totally untouched photos, nothing has been altered or changed. Expect the best!
Located on the wide Lenox Avenue, this suite is one block from the subway and 125th street - the main hub of bustling Harlem with its cosmopolitan culture. Old "landmarks" like Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster, Lenox Lounge, and the Apollo Theater are complimented by new additions to the neighborhood, such as the upcoming Whole Foods directly across the street and tasteful French cafes lining the blocks. Harlem is a truly special and vibrant neighborhood - one of the most unique in the city.
  • We stay at Anita's apartment in December and it's our first time to book apartment. I booked only hotels before, so I can say that Anita's apartment must have 4* Europe hotel rating, not less!!!! Not small apartment with sunshine, very stylish, very comfortable. It's better in many times than on photo! Anita and Diego very helpful, you can ask anything and anytime !!! So I want to say Anita and Diego thank you so much for our vacation and relax in your apartment!

    Evgeniy2014-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was wonderful in every way! Anita was a perfect host and brought us breakfasy every morning! This came as a fabolous surprise. The apartment was clean and fresh, and very close to subway. We will definitely tell all our friends about this gorgeous place!

    Lovisa 2014-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The suite is as beautiful as pictured and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Anita's. The neighborhood is super fun to explore and Anita had prepared very handy folders with the highlights. The place is close to the subway so getting around Manhattan is very easy. Anita is an exceptional host, I cannot praise her enough. She was very understanding towards us and extraordinarily helpful. We would definitely stay there again and hope to get to try her restaurant then. It was very close to being finished while we were there and the concept sounds so intriguing.

    Tinna2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Anita was a welcoming and organized host. She had everything set up and was available at all times to answer any questions about anything. She was also accommodating as my arrival time changed at the last minute.

    Parnell2014-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Heaven in Harlem! This room is just as beautiful as the pictures! Anita was very kind and welcoming and super helpful! (especially when we locked ourselves out of our room!) Everything was perfect from the huge towels to the cute umbrella! There isn't a better place to stay. The room is less than a block away from the subway. I look forward to staying here again and eating at Anita's restaurant, which I'm sure will be great!

    Ashley2014-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Anita's place was wonderful ! A truly place of peace and relaxing after all the noise in Manhattan. We chose this place because of the decoration and it was exactly like the picture on the website, even better! Everything in the room was cozy and comfortable, the bed was great, the products in the bathroom were awesome! It felt like our second home! We fell in love with the body wash, so we decided to bought it and bring it back to France! Anita and her husband are very nice and I can tell that they care about people! They did everything they could to make us comfortable and fell like home! When I'll come back in NY I'll for sure return here! I already miss this wonderful place.

  • We were so delighted that we chose the Divine, it certainly is appropriately named. Anita stayed in touch with us very efficiently in relation to our booking, and was a pleasure to deal with. We were greated by Diane, who took care of our every need in her friendly and helful manner. The decor is stunning, and creates a sophisticated feel. The bed is extremely comfortable, it was a struggle to get out of it each morning to go sight seeing, but the thought of the wonderful shower made it easier. Every amenity has been thought of, the bedroom suite feels like a home from home, it is cosy and inviting. The added bonus was Chaiwali, the food is out of this world, we just kept going back for more. The staff are lovely and the food is so delicious, we ate all over New York, and it was simply the best. The food choices for people with food allergies is impressive and the taste will speak for itself, if you are staying here you need to eat there at least once. The neighbourhood has plenty of stores to pick up what you need for your stay, a number of fashion retailers, a great choice of restaurants and bars, and the subway is just a block away. The area is steeped in history and central park is nearby. We would highly recommend The Divine for a stay in New York.

The space is a large studio room with a king bed. The best part is that this is an apartment in a hotel and therefore comes with all the standard perks of being in a 4-star hotel for less of a price: twice daily cleaning, concierge service, etc.
  • Class Through & Through at The Lombardy! Ian was lovely from 'day one', gave us good tips re: local for a 'smoothie bar' that turned out to be our morning lifeline! As far as the mattress, sheets & pillows; top quality thread count & comfort. And right downstairs is high end & quality Steak House to die for. And a nice bar for a drink while planning out your night if not dining there. Staff at the Lombardy: first class. All in all, lovely experience.

    Nicholas2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • I just loved staying here. A unique experience in that it had this very great combo of hotel convenience (very clean, great location, quiet, maid service, hotel bar, little soaps) but felt small enough to be friendly and fun. I am from NY and this is really as good as it gets in terms of location, style, and feel. Ian was a great host and helped me with questions and issues throughout.

    molly2017-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place was perfect! The location was ideal as we were within walking distance to all of the sights that we wanted to visit! Ian was such a gracious host and the place was beautiful! The staff at the Lombardy Hotel was also amazing in every way. We loved staying here, recommend highly, and can't wait to go back.

  • A very comfortable room in a beautiful building in the mid-50's on the east side. Parking lot nearby (if you need), great espresso shop on ground floor, and super-easy access to all parts of midtown. Ian great on communication! Great place - enjoy!

  • The rowhome is very spacious and clean. It had everything we were looking for. It’s in a unique neighborhood in Newark and there was enough space for five of us. One bathroom had a shower, and there was an additional half bathroom. On the other hand, the neighborhood wasn’t the nicest but it’s convenient to where we were going. I think we would stay here again

Our hip urban home is a great base for your NYC adventures! Gorgeous chef's kitchen, a 55" TV with speedy WiFi (HBO, ESPN, HULU etc). This home is ideal for groups of 4 to 6 but up to 8. Situated in a vibrant family-friendly neighborhood, a short walk to Journal Square PATH station, which has buses and trains to take you right into NYC, Hoboken and Newark Airport, all within a 20 min ride. Our family lives in the attached home. Ask about our parking, airport pick-ups & available childcare.
PLEASE READ: This is a chance for you to pay very little for a great place. This vacation home is usually about twice as large but during most of February we will be converting a small bedroom (outside the main place where you will be staying) into a bathroom. It's just one room that will be out of service. Though we list this as only two bedroom, most the time the giant top hideaway room (see pictures) will be available. In other words, you can count on a private space with two bedrooms, a bathroom, large kitchen, table, etc; and you will probably have the bonus of the attic room where you can sleep 6 people (see pics). We have superb ratings from our guests. You can find these rating by searching this same home, but listed under: "Chic 4BR Family home! Best train to NYC!+Childcare" If you go off to the city during the days, the work will be done while you are seeing Broadway, the Village, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, etc. We are a local family, not absentee landlords. We live in an attached home below, but your home will have its own private, locked entry and entirely private spaces. Built over a century ago, our fully-renovated 4 bedroom home includes a well-lit Victorian double salon with high ceilings and a spacious attic bonus room (a great hideaway for kids and teenagers— or couples who want a big bed for each to sleep on) where there are two queen beds and a huge 4K TV/and available PS3 gaming system. There is space for up to 15 people, but fits 6 to about 10 most comfortably. All bedrooms have blackout curtains for sleeping in late. Our chef's kitchen features a kosher dishwasher, gourmet range and an Amish crafted dining table that extends to seat 8 to 10 people. We have a Keurig coffee maker with coffee, chef’s knives, gourmet olive oils and many other essential cooking supplies. There is also plenty of seating in our chic, central living room where you can enjoy our 55" wall-mounted HDTV. Your apartment has its own thermostat. And in warmer months, every room has its own window AC. If you have any questions or need advice on how to navigate the city, we are just a knock away! While we want you to thoroughly enjoy your stay, we do not allow loud parties, as this is a family-friendly home and area. Please see below about activities in the neighborhood!
Jersey City is a gem with the best view of the Manhattan skyline and a 7 min drive to the Statue of Liberty! Hoboken, home of Carlo's Bakery, is our next door neighbor. Our neighborhood is especially family friendly and walkable. Enjoy tennis, picnicking, bike trails and multiple playgrounds, all within a 3-minute walk from your home away from home. Just around the corner is a Catholic church, an array of ethnic eateries, a Dairy Queen, convenience stores, fruitstands, hair salons, etc. We are also close to Liberty State Park, where you can catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, or to NYC!

  • Sinan made our stay so very comfortable! The home was very clean, spacious, and stylish. We were provided with all the amenities we could think of. It is close to everything and we were able to find street parking fairly easily as well! I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Jersey!

    Tarjani2017-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The host Sinan was amazing! Great Home away from Home. Love the whole house. Beautiful layout, modern decorations. Nice and cozy. Enough room and space for everyone. Walk in closets :-) Just what we needed. Everything you need or could think of he had it there already. We did not want to leave. Would defiantly come back. There we snacks already there. Another plus we had forgotten to print our tickets, he had internet, printer and paper. Like I said this home was equipt with everything we needed or forgot we needed... We traveled to Manhattan, which the train wasn't far we drove. MetLife stadium for a football game. #CowboysBeatTheGiants nice central location. Only downside the airport LaGuardia was pricey for the Uber ride $80 and which he dropped us off on the street not the house due to city workers but Uber will be hearing about that. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

  • 5 Stars doesn't give Sinan and his Apartment enough justice. From the start Sinan was responsive and helpful. The apartment was very clean and an exact match to the pictures online. It was a 7 dollar UBER to the Path Train that took us strait to New York. Very convenient. We will defiantly be back.

Ideal for visiting NJ with day trips to NYC, this 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom duplex apartment is just two blocks from Newark Broad St train station and downtown Newark and is great for 1-18. Please note: -We are in Newark; our neighborhood is not trendy, but it is safe & central -We live on the 3rd floor apartment -When booking, tell us about your group and the reason of your trip -Full Airbnb ID verification required -All guests must be in the booking -No loud, unauthorized parties
Fully-renovated duplex apartment with new kitchen and appliances; modern, cozy furniture and art throughout. The entrance to the apartment is on the second floor after an easy flight of stairs from the main foyer. The main common spaces -- kitchen, living room, and dinning area -- are on this floor as well as 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms and it sleeps up to 10 people exclusively in the bedrooms. This floor can be rented separate from the ground floor space. On the ground floor there are 2 additional bedrooms, another bathroom with a shower, and a family room with a second Roku TV, additional couches, and a small table to play boardgames. The ground floor sleeps an additional 5-9 people -- 5 in the extra bedrooms and up to 4 in the common spaces. In total, we have 8 actual beds (2 queen, 2 double, 4 twin), 5 twin-size sofa beds, and only one queen size inflatable mattress (Aerobed). We live in the same building, but in a separate apartment on the third floor.
It is very important to us that you understand our location before booking as that is the one thing we cannot change. We are in the Lower Broadway neighborhood just north of Downtown Newark which is home to a diverse population of Latinos and immigrants from other backgrounds. This means that great food, access to public transportation, shows and many other great perks are within walking distance. This is a vibrant neighborhood that, like other key areas of Newark, is going through significant renewal and redevelopment, processes that are still very much under way (i.e., we are not as beautiful as we will soon be). If you don't let yourself be stopped by the couple of lots waiting redevelopment around us, you will find an array of small family-run restaurants and stores within 1-2 blocks radius of the apartment. Still, while luxury condos have begun to pop up here and there, we feel safe, and we think our neighbors are among the best, the Lower Broadway still remains much more ethnic and unpolished than trendy and manicured. Please look it up before booking :) We are also on a street that gets busy during rush hour, and that also means a little extra noise, particularly in the warmer months. It is not uncommon to hear Salsa and Latin music blasting from cars passing by, from the neighboring shops, or coming from the various music festivals held in the riverfront. (We do provide top of the line disposable earbuds in case you want them). SAFETY We can honestly say that we love it here and feel safe. Our neighbors are friendly and, for the most part, truly awesome. The two-block walk between our house and the train station -- aside from dealing with some ongoing construction around the train station (which can make the use of some sidewalks a bit less straightforward) -- is rather uneventful and often shared with other people commuting to/from NYC for work. There is also a Police Station 4-5 blocks away from the house.
  • Great hosts!

  • PERFECT for easy access to NYC. The apartment was clean, well decorated, and large. There was even a clothes steamer! The kitchen was stocked with cooking essentials and even a little extra! They were very accommodating to my special needs/allergies. They used organic cleaning products. I will definitely stay again! For us it was the perfect location.

  • Rocio and Devis were very accommodating for us as we were in town for a body building event with competitors , check in and out was a breeze. Her house was as pictured. She replied very promptly to any questions we had and even gave suggestions on things to do in the area....she had maps and other pamphlets for various attractions . We would recommend this as a place to stay!!!

    Doris2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and space. Rocio is a great communicator and nothing was too much trouble. Many thanks for everything.

    Hilary David2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was a great fit for 4. There were a couple of small issues while on our stay, but Rocio was very communicative and easy to reach. Would definitely recommend and would visit again if we are in the area!

    Scott2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rocio and Deivis are great hosts. They prepared so much for us and every time we reached out to them, they immediately gave us help and suggestions. The place look exactly like the pictures, very clean and spacious. We had awesome stay there and we are definitely coming back next time when we are in town.

  • Place is absolutely 5 stars. Comfy beds and couch; nice amenities and decor; super clean. Even some available snacks in the fridge. Also is super convenient -- only a 10 minute or less walk to the Broad Street train station. (And a cheap uber to Newark Airport.) Getting in and out of the house is also super easy. Host Rocio is quick at responding and very nice! One of the best Airbnbs I've been at. Only downside is neighborhood -- not really stores/restaurants in walking distance, and also you wouldn't want to walk down the street at late night.

    Aaron2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend to stay.

  • One of the best hosts ever , the house was so clean , fast WIFI , safe neighborhood , it was an outstanding experience

    Mohammed2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Safe and quiet neighborhood. Plenty of space. Always available parking on the street. There's a train station (Bloomfield) 5 minutes away by car with a large parking building In front of it ($1 per hour). The train will take you to NY Penn Station after 3 stops (25 minutes). Sometimes, you will need to transfer to another train at the second stop, but it's usually right there already waiting. Overall, this is an awesome place with a great price and very professional hosts (Michael & Leslie). Everything went so well that I didn't even need to speak with them over the phone or in person. My four children and wife were very happy. We would definitely go back in the future.

I wish we had stayed longer! The neighborhood was great, with many shops and places to eat. Crys place is very close to Newark Penn and the walk was nice and quiet! Parking was easy also. I would definitely stay again in the future!

As for the location its good for anyone who wants to explore Newark or New York. It also has plenty of great food options near by too. I would definately recommend staying here.

Large bedroom for two in Newark's trendy, historic Ironbound District, a short train ride from the World Trade Center and Midtown Manhattan. Walking distance to the Prudential Centre and downtown Newark. Minutes from all major NYC tourist attractions. Enjoy a quiet evening, local partying, or all New York City has to offer! I have two equally sized, similarly appointed rooms available. If you need an additional room, the other room is listed on AirB&B.
I am a Manhattan lawyer living solo in a large three-bedroom apartment in the historic Ironbound District of Newark, New Jersey. The train to Manhattan is a ten to twelve minute walk from the house, and arrives at the World Trade Center of Midtown in about 20 minutes. And it costs as little as $2.10, less than the New York City subway! My Place I offer two spacious bedrooms each with a full size bed for two persons, with full use of the kitchen, dining area, living room, and balcony overlooking the Newark Downtown. The apartment is very large and comfortable, with free WiFi and a bathroom exclusively for guests. (There is one bathroom for two guest rooms. Typically, only one room is occupied at a time. If you want exclusive use of the guest bathroom, we can probably arrange something.) You can prepare meals at home (I provide dishes, pots and pans, and some food items -- please ask before buying spices, etc.; I might already have it), or enjoy one of the many excellent local eateries, such as Delicias de Minas at the corner. There are two grocery stores very close to the house, both with a variety of ethnic offerings.
Newark's Ironbound District, in addition to being very close to Manhattan, is worth exploring on its own. The Ironbound District offers a bit of everything. It's a vibrant community of immigrants from Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Ecuador, and elsewhere. Its nightlife scene features Brazilian rhythms, disco, food, and libation. Its many outstanding restaurants burst with flavors from all those nationalities and more, and range from the reasonably priced to the dirt cheap. Its streets are quiet and amazingly traffic-free for a place so close to Manhattan. And it's safe at all hours. A ten- or twelve-minute walk away, there’s the Prudential Center, home to the New Jersey Devils and a popular venue for major events. The house is also within walking distance to most important places in downtown Newark. I will gladly show you around the neighborhood. I'm also a longtime former resident of New York City (Brooklyn). I'm a diehard New Yorker and very proud of "my city." I can recommend, and maybe even take you to, many beautiful places in New York City that are not overrun by tourists.
  • quiet neighborhood within walking distance about 15 mins from prudential center. host was very friendly and home was neat and comfy. shifty crowd by the newark penn station area. other than that enjoyed my stay was able to get plenty of r and r. liked the pizza place and portuguese groceey store a lot!

    Carmen2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Glen's place for an event that I was attending at the Prudential Center. I chose it because it's close to the venue and looked cozy. I made a right choice doing so. For starters, the place looked exactly like the posting- if not, better. From the moment I stepped inside, I was satisfied. As a person with OCD, I was quite impressed and pleased with the organization and cleanliness of the place. It also smelled great, which is a plus! My check in was a bit troublesome. I took a bus from Boston and was suppose to arrive around 10PM. Traffic hit and I didn't get there until 12ish. I informed Glen about arriving late and he said he would wait for me. When I was outside, I was calling him but got no response. After multiple failed calls, I decided to go to a nearby hotel lobby to figure things out. I wasn't comfortable waiting outside at such late hours. I also didn't know if I was able to ring the doorbell, so I didn't. After about two hours, Glen texted me asking where I was. That was when I realized that I've been calling the wrong number. I was calling his office number, which was the number on the Airbnb confirmation email. When I arrived, I felt HORRIBLE about making Glen wait so long for me. It was MY mistake for calling the wrong number and not ringing the doorbell. I should've known better, but I guess I had a long day. Once I got settled in, Glen offered to show me around the place in the morning since it was late and he wanted to let me rest. I took an hour or two to charge my electronics and rest. After that, I left to the Prudential Center. Once the event was over on Saturday, I came back to get my belongings and checked out. I didn't spend the night there because I was offered to stay with my friends. Although my stay was extremely short, I can say that Glen is a GREAT host. He was willing to let me check in at 10, which is quite late, and continued to wait for me when I had trouble contacting him. He even helped me bring my luggage upstairs when I arrived. If I was him, then I would be cranky for having to stay up! He is such a patient gentleman. On top of that, his place is superb. I wish I had more time to enjoy it! If I ever visit the area again, then I would definitely come back to Glen's place! Thank you for everything.

    Cindy2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn's place was great; clean comfortable and conveniently located in a very safe area very close to Newark Penn. My Lyft rid to the airport was only 8 bucks and Glenn was sweet enough to pick up up from the airport on the way there. Highly recommend it!

    Jennifer2015-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very neat and tidy and I got to have my own private bathroom for the entire stay. It's a quiet house a few blocks away from Penn Station, roughly 10-15 mins walk. The house comes with all the facilities you would need as a traveller. I felt quite comfortable staying in Glen's house and would recommend it for people who wish to have the convenience and comfort.

  • Glendoval was an excellent host. The space was clean and the bathroom was spotless. His instructions for directions were clear and he was kind enough to pick me up at the airport.

  • Glendoval is a superb host. Apartment is very clean. The room is comfortable. Ironbound is a nice neighborhood, safe and with great restaurants/bars/shops. Very easy to commute with NY. Very satisfied with my stay

The area was great, super quiet, only on the main roads, do you realize how busy it is. We found a great place to grab some grub ,-Nubian Flavor on springfield ave, which offers all day breakfast, lunch & dinner at great prices. Certainly would revisit in the future! Cheers.

A lovely, clean and modern apartment with total privacy. Set on a quiet, tree-lined residential street … yet the bus to New York stops just one block away, on a busy street full of restaurants and shops.
Welcome to our guest apartment! This extremely clean, comfortable apartment is private and quiet. It can accommodate anywhere from a single adult to a small family. We are located in Bloomfield, NJ just one block from shops, restaurants, a world-famous bakery, a post office and the NYC bus (only a 30-minute ride to Times Square, NYC!). Three NJ Transit train stations are also located nearby. We are a twenty minute drive to the Meadowlands stadium. The guest apartment is part of our 2-story house but has its own entrance , private kitchen and private bathroom and parking. Access to laundry facilities and unlimited cable and wi fi are included with your stay. The decor is relaxed and fun, as well as (we hope) aesthetically pleasing, featuring contemporary Crate & Barrel furnishings and wall art by Tom Everhart, "the Snoopy guy". (Kids who have visited LOVE the Snoopy art.) This apartment features the world's most comfortable queen-sized bed, as well as a comfy couch in a separate room. In the kitchen, all stainless steel appliances, a spruce-green granite countertop and a honey-onyx backsplash make it a pleasure to cook in, or just relax with a cup of tea. This apartment is cool in summer and warm in winter. A state-of-the-art Mitsubishi heating and cooling unit keeps the temperature and air circulation at whatever level you want. In the bathroom, there's also an individually-controlled heating unit, in addition to the wall fixture, for those who shiver after showers! There are two desks in the unit, for the productivity-minded. And for allergy-sufferers, all of the flooring is ceramic tile, keeping dust and allergens to a minimum. (Only a couple of plush scatter rugs, like in the bedroom, have been provided for your comfort.) (NOTE:) There are 2 cats and 2 friendly dogs on the premises. We hope you will enjoy your stay!
Our house is on a quiet, green, residential street - but it's only 1 block from the Broad Street commercial district, with restaurants, bars, a CVS, gas stations, a Dunkin' Donuts, a 7-11, a 24-hour diner, and more.
  • Stephanie's place was really great, and the hosts were even better. Very kind people who made sure we were comfortable and offered lots of advice about the area. The kitchen is huge, the bed is comfortable, and the apartment feels very private. The location is also really fabulous - near a cute area of Broad Street with lots of restaurants and a small park. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Stephanie is a great host and the accommodations are wonderful. Off street parking is a big plus and the neighborhood is so quiet.

  • Hosts are wonderful, location is fantastic, and the place is amazing.. 5 stars across the board and simply because I can't give MORE...!! STOP searching and stay here...

    Stephen2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed this very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated private space in a quiet beautiful neighborhood for our week-long vacation in the NYC area. It felt like a home away from home! Communication from the host was extremely helpful and above our expectations. Broad St was only a short walk away and gave us plenty of dining options before heading out by bus and train to NYC. We had a concert in Newark, and flew in and out of that airport, so we were in a good location for our activities. The bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom have everything needed for a great stay! This basement space having its own separate entrance on the side of the house works out very well. Before our stay, we did know about dogs in the house and didn't mind hearing them in the floor above. I do have one suggestion for the host, as the smoke detectors looked to be needing attention. We would definitely stay here again on a return visit. Thanks so much!

    Debbie2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely adorable, super clean, very private, easily accessible apartment with fabulous hosts. Highly recommend--and will be back!

  • We had a great stay at Laura's place. The location was a perfect, quiet street with a driveway to park in. The home itself was exactly what we needed. It was spacious with a full kitchen and one of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in. Lauren was a gracious and accommodating host. Our stay was truly everything we would have hoped for. We would strongly recommend this Airbnb to everyone!

  • My girlfriend and I arrived on August 1st to visit her parents who live in nearby West Orange, NJ. We were both very impressed by the hospitality we received and the cleanliness of everything in the apartment. We are both directionally challenged and after struggling to get out of the airport the host actually came out to meet us, and lead us to the apartment. I am from Georgia, and would have never of expected this kind of treatment in New Jersey. The sheets and towels were very clean. This was my first time using Airbnb and would have never expected this kind of service. Renata was very helpful and responded very quickly to every question we had. She was also very helpful in finding us some great places to eat, the soup at one of these places was amazing! The apartment itself was also located a few blocks away from a major train station with; the path to NYC, Newark street cars, and New Jersey Transit trains to West Orange which is what we took. I would highly recommend this apartment to anybody looking for a nice, clean and simple stay close to NYC, or other places in New Jersey.

  • Nice and understanding and her place was clean

  • This apartment is truly a steal. If you are looking for a location that is close to the Prudential Centre, I would highly recommend this apartment. It is actually alarmingly close, to the point where my friends and I were able to walk back to it to use the bathroom and freshen up, rather than using the public outside washrooms at the convention we were visiting the city for. If you are visiting this apartment, I would try and keep in mind that for most people who are not from the city, they may find the location to be a little bit dicey. If you're seeking restaurants, we recommend turning left out of the apartment and walking back toward the Prudential Centre, rather than wandering right which will take you to a small sidewalk on a very busy street! Renata, as a host, left something to be desired but I would stay at this location again for its closeness and the cleanliness of the apartment. I have no complaints aside from that.

  • A clean and comfortable stay close to the metro station. Renata was a great host and was very quick to respond to any needs and questions we had. It was a great experience and we would definitely recommend this place to others.

    Calvin 2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our time at Renata's place. The pictures make it seem a bit larger than it is, but it's definitely affordable for what is available. There were a few maintenance issues that were resolved the same day. Renata was mostly responsive, even late at night. The kitchen gets pretty warm if you want to cook. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy, but I didn't feel unsafe. There is on street parking, but you need to have a permit (make sure to let Renata know before you arrive that it's needed, or you may need to wait a day). The parking is difficult to find even with a permit. We did walk to Newark Penn Station without any issues and took the train into NYC. You have two options, NJ Path ($5.25 round trip from Track 1) or NJ Transit ($10.50 round trip).

Best place to visit NYC. Distance to Newark Airport 3.2 miles. Hospital 0.4miles. You can take uber for $7.00 to reach the apartment from airport. To get to Manhattan you can take Path train for $2.75 and it takes 21 min. Penn station 1.6 miles. Close to Prudential Center.
Great location close to NYC, Newark airport, prudential center, Rutgers university, hospital
Pretty quiet neigbourhood. Bus just around the corner. Stores in walking distance.

  • I am a very frequent AirBnB guest and have stayed in many locations within the NJ/NYC area. I can say without reservation that this was hands down the nicest place I have stayed thus far. Immaculately clean, comfortable room and bed, convenient access with self check-in, and an overall excellent experience. Will definitely stay here again if it's available when I need it.

  • The place is very nice and clean and close to public transportation. Towels are provided but no washcloths. There is one TV in the common area. The sofabed is really not a sofabed and only a pillow and a thin comforter with no sheets is provided. This place is fit for 1-4 people. Overall, the place served the purpose for our needs and the host was very responsive with our questions and accomodating with our late check out.

Looking for style, comfort and privacy? This fully equipped en suite studio situated in Historic James Street Commons is located in the heart of Newark's arts and cultural district. This charming get-away is one block from the Newark Museum and one block north, a 15 minute train ride gets you into New York city's Penn Station without a hassle. This hidden treasure is ideal for someone looking for access and convenience. It's conveniently located near eateries and places of social interlude.
As a well traveled host this space is special because it is designed, furnished and outfitted to meet the expectations that the host would desire in accommodations away from home.
The studio is located in a well sort after charming historic district which is on the national historic record. The neighborhood population is diverse and most residents are professionals and or students. Although pets are not allowed in the studio, it's a very pet friendly neighborhood. Most attractive however is that you can walk to access most things that you would need and major transportation is at your fingertips.
  • Raymond’s space is very modern and has some incredible art. It is definitely stylish. It is very conveniently located near the hospitals and has all the amenities you could possibly need for your stay. Raymond and his team were very quick to respond and went above and beyond to meet all expectations and provide a quality, hassel-free stay. This is a great place and I recommend to anyone who is looking for a home away from home.

  • OMG, where do I begin. We were looking to travel to NYC for our 4 year wedding Anniversary. We selected Style & Comfort as it was affordable, cozy for two, and close to public transportation into the City. We picked a great choice. We met with Ray's sister Zakiyyah and she was freaking AWESOME. She was available at all times with any questions we had. Style & Comfort is a 5 min walk to the train station so transpiration is simple. The accommodations were cozy and clean for a couple. Literally just like the pictures. I have not one bad thing to say about our stay, just know when we are back in the area Style and Comfort will be our first choice.

  • My GF and I stayed at this place while visiting NYC. The place is absolutely amazing. It was exactly what we needed and perfect for 2 people. My GF loved the bathroom and tried to steal the tub but it wouldn't fit in the truck. The entry way isn't in any pictures but it was the coolest part believe it or not. If you're visiting NYC, take the train, which is a mile from the Apt. Don't drive. I spent over 100 on parking in one day. Anyway, I would recommend this room to anyone. Y'all will have a great stay, I'm sure of it.

Welcome to Liberty Cottage! Create a memorable vacation by staying at this charming 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment in Jersey City Heights. We are a 15 min drive from Newark Airport! Get to NYC Port Authority (1 block from Times Square) in 25 minutes! There is a bus stop next door & buses come frequently (~5-10 min). Enjoy our beautiful shared backyard and access to a huge park around the corner. If this unit is booked, please see our other (larger) unit here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21848861
This is a clean and cozy apartment located on the ground floor (street level) in a 3-family home. This is a fully private apartment with its own entrance. In the apt, there are 2 bedrooms each with a queen sized bed. We also have 1 queen and 1 twin sized air mattress. In total, our place can sleep up to 7 guests (3 on air mattresses). We host world travelers and have had wonderful guests from France, China, Japan, Spain, California, Texas, and other metropolitan cities & international countries. We also host families, business travelers, interns, job seekers, and anyone who's looking for a comfortable place to call home. We put lots of love & care into making this a relaxing oasis. Sheets, towels, pillows, blankets etc are waiting for you, so don't bring a thing! We provide soap, shampoo/conditioner and a hair dryer too. This house is family friendly and we have a pack & play crib for young children to sleep and play. We don't have a driveway, but parking is available on the street and is free. If you are bringing a car, please read the parking signs carefully as street cleaning days vary. Be careful as you will get a parking fine (~$50) if you make a mistake with the signs. I always recommend no car, as public transport is plentiful and parking anywhere in the NYC area is no fun.
Jersey City is the only city in the NYC metropolitan area that has legalized hosting Airbnb. It is currently illegal to host Airbnb in New York City and nearby Union City. Jersey City Heights is a safe, family-friendly, and residential area within Jersey City. You won't find clubs or loud parties here, but instead will hear the laughter of children playing in the nearby park. It is a very walkable neighborhood and there are many lovely restaurants, bars, and cafes that we are happy to recommend, which you can find in our guidebook. We are close to Liberty State Park where you can catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island. Jersey City Heights is also right next to Hoboken (20 min walk), home of Carlo's Bakery!

  • Helen's Place was our best Air B&B experience yet. She was so lovely! Not only was her house the perfect resting spot for a New York vacation, she made sure our outsides travels were just as wonderful. She was only a text message away to answer any question that myself and the other guest had about New York City. Although she offered complete privacy while we were there, we wanted to meet her and her husband and asked them to come down. They came down as soon as we arrived and were so kind by asking a little about us and what we had planned in NYC. The gave us a little more New Yorker information and said "Enjoy your Trip!" They opened their doors and made it feel like it was our own house. Helen made sure everything was perfect in the house. Not only was the decor modern and very homey, she had some treats and water for our arrival. The bathroom was spotless and all the towels and sheets were cleaned and smelt great. The kitchen had all the needed utensils and seemed to be brand new! The house even had its own Netflix account for our late night pleasure. The house was conveniently located right next to a liquor store, some casual dinning (which we enjoyed...there were cheap locations and fine dining in walking distance), a grocery store and the bus stop was right out front the house for drop off and across the street for pick-up. One thing that we were worried about was figuring out the public transit system, but before we arrived Helen wrote a very thoughtful "We can't wait for your arrival" note and filled us in on how to get to the house and how to venture into the city (step-by-step). I can honestly say that i have felt more comfortable staying at Helen's place then I have staying at a friends or family members. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! For our next stay in NYC, we will only think about staying at Helen's Place. Thanks for everything Helen & Ben!

  • Helen's place is great. It was super clean and she provides a welcoming atmosphere. She provided some great tips on things to do in the area, as well as things to do in the Manhattan (and how to get there). I would highly recommend this place.

    Annie2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Found this wonderful place on AirB&B. Reached out to Helen, we booked because of the way she made us feel so welcome. The apartment is a little further out than we thought but it’s honestly a good thing. The city is crazy, staying here saved us from going crazy as it was nice to sleep somewhere so comfortable and peaceful. The house itself is super cool, well put together and clean, everything we need some soft bedding, extra pillows right down to the chocolates left out for us. The hosts are fantastic, the live on the top floor but it wasn’t noticeable as all Helen did was check in to see if we were ok. Transportation: Bus stop right outside our apartment, never waited more than 5-10 mins for a bus, great service. It was a 15-25 min ride, $3.25 (pay at the end so have small bills) We Uber’s back most nights as it was only around $26-38 depending on the time of night. I would personally bus in and Uber back, add a little extra in your budget for this as it will make everything so easy for you. Getting around NYC was cake, no need to bore you with those details. Overall, it’s now our NYC stop when we come back to the big Apple. Thanks Helen, you guys are great.

  • Staying at Helen's place was perfect! The bed was so comfy and Helen's recs for NYC helped me with navigation in a big city (not my strongest point!) Her place was relaxing - just what I needed. I would absolutely stay again next time I'm in the area.

    Isabel2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is indeed a charming apartment! and even better it was closely situated to NYC! Helen is a wonderful host who accommodated my very last minute request! She made me feel very welcomed and communicated with me throughout my stay to ensure that I had everything I needed! This apartment is in a great location and is exactly as described and so much more. The bus stop into NYC is literally out the front door. I couldn't have asked for more within a bus ride over to NYC...and without having to pay a killer amount. Also, Helen provided thorough instructions for her place and many restaurant suggestions. Helen's attention to detail at her place made this stay GREAT. I can't wait to return to NYC so I can stay here again! Thank you Helen!
