A classic country pub where you are likely to meet some classic country people. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere awaits although the facilities are quite basic so it is not suitable if you are looking for "the finer things". Comfortable and clean is of course a must. I hope to see you soon. This room has 2 singles beds.
  • I bloody loved this place. The quirky, rambling old joint is a good cheap place to crash. And Tim is a warm and friendly host who really cares about his customers. The front bar offers food and drinks for locals and travelers alike. And the simple but clean rooms are out back - with some booked by local workers and others like this one offered via AirBnb. Thanks for your hospitality and the surprising dessert cocktail (ask Tim). We'll be back!

  • Stopped over here on my drive from Melbourne to Adelaide. If you just need somewhere to rest your head for the night I recommend it. There's not much around and it definitely is 'no-frills' but suited me exactly for what I needed. Tim was really friendly and great on check in.

  • Ticked all the boxes we needed, Tim was great and made everything easy

  • Tim’s place is a good value place to stay. Located in small town near Bordertown, this place is almost 100 year old history but it is very peaceful to stay there. Tim has a bar which is very convenient after a drive and wanna have some drink and foods then back to sleep. His fish & chips are really delicious. It is good value to stay as a break on the road trip.

    Xu2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great value and very clean. Tim went out of his way to make sure I knew how to get there. Great communication.

Low budget with a focus on cleanliness and a relaxing environment. Most of the furniture is recycled. Most people are very happy here. It is my home, so please don't come if you are used to perfection. I am a happy, cheerful, loving person who makes the most of everything in life. I ONLY associate with like minded people. I have a cat and a dog, both are very precious to me. If they will be an issue, please make other arrangements for your accommodation. Sometimes I have visitors and they use my other spare room. My visitors are precious people and they will always be gracious. There is a cot and a child's bed available. I'm only too happy to be helpful and accommodating, please don't leave negative reviews if you expect to abuse my hospitality. Pets are welcome, with a $10 surcharge for the extra cleaning. THERE IS ALSO A $5 FEE FOR USING THE KITCHEN. I AM NOT A WEALTHY PERSON, AND I CANNOT AFFORD FOR PEOPLE TO NOT PAY FOR WHAT THEY USE. If you aren’t a genuine Airbnb client and are reading this just to “check up” on me or to be a busybody - remember - that’s called “STALKING” which is illegal.
The Little Desert is 5 km away. It has very interesting flora, fauna and geological features. The Wimmera River is a short walk away. There are kookaburras and rosellas. Picnics to the Little Desert can be arranged. Please message me to organise a trip tailor made for you.

  • Old style hotel in a country town. Very cool building and peaceful location and we both slept very well at night. The dining area gave us a peaceful spot to relax in the morning. Has everything you need including a kitchen. Tim is really welcoming and gives good local tips. One thing that we really liked is that we could let the dog run around out the fenced paddock out back.

  • I stayed in one of the bunk rooms. Had the room to myself as no one else was there. Its basic but really lovely and peaceful. The shared lounge and kitchen is great. Rob is very friendly and full of knowledge and stories. It's worthwhile to walk around the property and see the hut replica and story behind the name of the place. Also cool to see some interesting farm animals. Perfect getaway from town.

  • Awesome place, great hosts, beautiful place, amazing breakfast. Serene scenery and area. Bow, the elderly dog ended up spending the night with us haha! Pet friendly such a bonus as Toby could come too. Highly recommended! Plenty of local history. Lots of animals, Toby enjoyed chasing the ducks but didn't enjoy the lama trying to squash him haha! Perfect for a rest if driving long distances. We only wish we stayed longer!

  • Wendys retreat is a wonderful place to stay. So friendly and welcoming. You will get a 5 star treatment. If you order the evening meal you will also have a delicious dinner. Wendy is a great cook! Both the adults and the kids loved the food. The pool make the stay even more luxuries and the quality of the beds together with soft bathrobes for the kids made the stay feel more like a spa then just an ordinarie Airbnb place. To top this, the breakfast was also delicious. Wendy made great omeletts with local vegetables, garden herbs and the coffee was the best I've tasted in all my time in Australia. And the fresh fruits afterwards were amazing. This is the best airbnb place we have visit by far. We have only superlative to give to Wendy for here wonderful place. The children loved to feed the sheep and chickens and to pick fresh eggs. We also hade the opportunity to run at the Nhill's parkrun and meet so nice local peoples. If you want an experience over the average. You have to visit this pearl on the road back from Melbourne from Adelaide.

    Jonas2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant to stay with Wendy. Perfect stop over between Melbourne - Adelaide. Nice bedrooms, comfy beds and all the amenities you could need. Having everything available at the house for our 1 year old was amazing too.

  • A really nice place run by a fabulous host! Sparkling clean and the food is excellent! Ideally located for a stay over when on a road trip between Melbourne and Adelaide.

  • We stopped here to allow our baby an overnight rest while driving from Melbourne to Adelaide. We weren't expecting to enjoy our stay so much. The rooms are beautifully appointed, spacious, clean and with comfortable beds. The most outstanding aspect is Wendy's hospitality - breakfast was delicious and worthy of a gourmet restaurant and she is a kind and generous host. We will stop here every year!

  • An absolute pleasant experience staying at Wendy's Retreat. The rooms are sparkling clean. The beds are super comfortable. Wendy is such a great host. She replied our questions timely, cooked yummy breakfast for us, showed us her animal friends and made us feel like being at home. We very much enjoyed the moments we spent there. Highly recommend.

Beautiful beds, extremely comfortable, lovely fluffy towels etc. Couch, chairs and all furniture good quality and comfortable. Outside area was large clean and tidy. Big regret - we stayed only one night. We would definitely stay again and recommend.

  • Cannot recommend highly enough! Kym is a fantastic host who will ensure you have the best stay! We stayed at Kym's for a "Coonawarra" catch up with another couple and it was perfect! 3min drive from Apsley and the Border inn is fantastic for dinner. Also great cooking amenities in the house - Huge stove and oven + Weber BBQ outside. No WiFi, but we had Telstra reception. 35min drive to Coonawarra wine region. Thanks Kym!

  • Fantastic place on our detour to the Naracoorte caves when travelling from Melbourne to Adelaide. Loads of space for the kids to run around outside and the tire swing was a big hit. The local pub was great too - brilliant atmosphere and lovely staff. Bright and cosy refurb, nice continental breakfast. Overall a big hit with all the family.

  • The accommodation has been well restored and tastefully decorated. The home is very roomy and offers a convenient location for a relaxing break on the road trip between Adelaide and Sydney/Melbourne. The host has excellent communication and assisted greatly to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. There are two air conditioners and a number of ceiling fans that made this place exceptionally cool on a hot summer day (46 degrees outside).

    Hayden2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house with lots of thought and effort clearly gone into its restoration. Located in a peaceful rural setting, it’s a great place to relax. Highly recommend having steak at the pub- very good!

  • We had an amazing 2 nights stay at Safe Haven. Van is cozy, sparkling clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is a perfect place for a couple to spend some quality/ peaceful time together, @country side. Trina and her husband are very welcoming and friendly. Hats of to them, taking care of the wild life. It was an amazing experience to feed and pat kangaroos, walkabies, wombats & dogs. We will definately recommend to our friends/family and come back soon for a longer stay.

  • Just great. It was the loveliest place we have ever had. The caravan is equipped with everything you need and sparkling clean. The bed was super comfortable. Trina and her husband are great hosts and do everything for their animals. We were allowed to bottle-feed the baby Wallaby Maggie and a baby wombat. Also the somewhat older kangaroos. You feel at home and very welcome. If you love animals, this is the place for you. Thank you for the nice but unfortunately too short stay. Just great. It was the loveliest place we have ever had. • What an amazing AirBNB! The accommodations comfortable and the hosts were very easy to communicate with. Once we arrived they welcomed us and showed us the whole property. We even had a chance to bottle feed several joeys and help put them to bed in their handmade pouches!! It was truly a fantastic experience, one we will never forget!

  • Trina & her partner are friendly & welcoming. Great with communication & super helpful. The property & accommodations are gorgeous with thoughtful touches - the caravan has everything you need. Being surrounded by the cute animals & nature is the best :)

  • It's so special when you come across people willing to do all they can to help animals in need. What an amazing experience. Such a tranquil and beautiful place to have a holiday.

    Rebecca2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Trina's accommodation is very special. You have the opportunity to help her and your husband Ian feed and play the many animals. We fed the baby wombat chili with the bottle and baby kangaroos and wallabies. Unforgettable!!! The caravan is very well equipped and super cozy. When you get up, you first greet the kangaroos in the opposite enclosure. And not to forget your dachshund rascals (and a Chihuahua) totally dear and cute dogs, which we would have loved to take to Germany;) It is amazing what they do for the animals. Check out the Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary Inc page on Facebook! It was an unforgettable experience for us and we will definitely be back.

  • The location was a quiet bush setting with a kangaroo grazing on the front lawn of the house in the morning. The bed was comfortable and warm the shower very hot. The area is small but everything you need for a comfortable stay including an outdoor setting under shelter. A nice touch was the very generous supply of breakfast provisions

    Andrew2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and beautifully furnished guest house. Breakfast was provided too. Communication was quick and uncomplicated at all times. It is a bit unfortunate that no wifi was available since there is no mobile phone reception at all in the area. Other than that I highly recommend the place.

  • We stayed for a night but it won’t be our last night there, that is for sure! What a lovely cottage and warm friendly hosts too complete with a cutie of a dog that lives by the back door. I’d go back to stay just for the dog alone😘 Beautiful furnishings of yesteryear and a super comfy big bed (I wanted to take the bed AND the dog home with me lol) If you go and stay please give the dog some yummy food and lots of cuddles cause she is a lovely gentle old dog who never barks. We were not disappointed with this accomodation and can heartily recommend it to anyone (we had our dog with us who also enjoyed the stay) Well done to Denise and Rob 5 out of 5 stars

  • We are blown away by this beautiful home. Cindy's place is an art of its own. Everything about this place is perfect. Each little details of the house is well thought of and up to the point where the thoughtful host even prepared a bottle of drinking water for each of us beside every bed. Pleasantly surprised to be welcomed with a personalised message on a chalkboard with biscuits and cheese platter. We enjoyed the platter during dinner. The provision of continental breakfast is much better than expected. I have to say, Cindy is indeed a superhost. The host has equipped the home with all that we need for your stay. Perfect for families with kids. I am travelling with 2 young children and the kids had a great time with the children's toys provided. The beds are super comfortable and the place is cosy and cooling. Each room has fan and heater. I felt right at home. The only highlight is that the wooden walkway tends to creak whenever walked past. Communication was prompt and clear. This is a place not to be missed and I highly recommended to stay at Sadie House if you get a chance.

  • This was the loveliest stay I’ve ever had using AirBnB. The home is expansive, inspiring, and serene. I was only here for one night but it was such a peaceful space, it felt like a much longer stay. The provided breakfast was the perfect touch and let me relax in the morning rather than go on a search for a meal in the town. This would be a great booking for a family or group of travelers, but I also enjoyed it as a solo traveler.

  • We had a wonderful stay in this stylish and welcome house. We stayed here on a road trip to Melbourne with two small children and it was perfect. We walked to the local pool in the late afternoon and then enjoyed a meal at home, before settling in to a very cosy night. In the morning we really appreciated breakfast provisions and were able to pack and head off for more driving with no stress.

  • Jo's house is very clean and beautifully decorated. The house is perfect for sunsets. And you can see the beautiful stars at night. The house is surrounded by Jo's farm. There are many animals in it, which is very suitable for children. If you are travelling between south Australia and Victoria, Jo's house is a great place to stay. It is worth mentioning that Jo's family are very hospitable and they are very willing to share their stories with you.

  • A delightful little cottage with all the cost farmly feels!

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jo's place is a nice and cozy, great fresh breakfast supplies, fresh eggs and super yummy chocolate coconut slices was a bonus, thank you Jo! You will need to pass showers area to get to the two bedrooms behind, or you will need to use the other exit door around the house to avoid passing bathroom when someone is using it. Kids loved feeding the chooks and play with the dogs. Experience to see the gigantic machinery to roll hay bales. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again as our future stop over.

    Matt2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jo’s place was an excellent stopover on our way back to Melbourne from Adelaide. The house is full of character and was supplied with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Beds were great, with lovely cotton sheets, and there were plenty of breakfast provisions (plus Jo’s famous chocolate slice!) Being a little bit out of town (but only 10 mins by car), the location is very peaceful - and you can see all the stars! Walking around and meeting the sheep and the chickens, and playing with the wonderful dogs were other highlights. Thanks Jo!

  • Such a gem of a place, and Sharon is a legend. Such a cool spot for a night away with a partner or a group of friends. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!!

    Caitlin2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very special and memorable one night stay! We arrived from Adelaide that night and it was almost twelve in the middle of the night, but the landlord's wife still communicated with our real-time location online at any time. When I was about to arrive, I was guided into a wild road by Apple Navigation and stuck in the soft sand. I could n’t push it out for a long time. I asked the landlord to respond quickly, came to the car to rescue, and finally successfully checked into the tent. The galaxy was really close to us that night, and we looked up tiredly to see that the galaxy was at hand, and the silver core was so low as to reach out our hand. You can touch it, it's so shocking! Definitely closer than the Milky Way seen by the New Zealand Good Shepherd! There are no people in the area of five kilometers. I can only hear the footsteps of various small animals and the frog songbirds lying in the tent. The washing area is the old stable in Figure 1. There is no ceiling. !! !! !! To sum it up ... One night the kid is happy and the old man is bitter. The kid can feed the horse and catch the sheep and chase the wild ducks. My mother can't stand it because I'm afraid those ants who are big enough to look at you hahahahahahaha wife will be with you Make a reservation for the next morning's food delivery. It's really nice to eat in the sun by the river! Highly recommend !!

  • A quick decision “stopover” on our Melbourne-Adelaide road trip turned out to be one of the highlights. What an amazing Australian bush experience “glamping” by the billabong under the stars. A friendly pat with the horses, pizza delivery, a magical sunset and generous breakfast made this a wonderful place to stay. Thank you Sharon, we hope to return again one day.

    Hayley2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING stay! If you're looking for a slice of heaven - some nature and some luxury - this is the place to come. Sharon's hospitality and delicious breakfast were warm and homey. The bell tents are set up on a sweet pond, the bird life is vibrant, and the property well kept and easy to stroll around. I highly recommend Nhillbilly Farm and look forward to coming back for a longer stay next time!

    Basha2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nhillbilly Farm was a fun experience for our family. Everything is all set up and easy. Lovely spacious bell tents, comfy beds and a very cool outdoor shower/bath area. There’s even an old horse float that has been converted to a little kitchenette. Sharon was a great host, good communication and she makes delicious pizzas! There’s a nice little dam and sitting outside listening to the birds with a glass of wine sure beats staying at a sad motel on the way to Adelaide. It’s definitely different but if you like the outdoors it’s a great place to stay.

    Ruth2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Rosemary's house was so much more than anything you can get in a caravan park cabin or at a motel. We were living on their property and were so warmly welcomed by Rosemary, who gave us some valuable local insight on spots to visit. The resident chooks were a pure delight and being photographers, we loved to wake up and sit on the porch and watch the fairy-wrens hop about in front of us. The house was very stylish, comfortable and clean. We had a couple of cool days, so the reverse cycle heater was most appreciated, as was the coffee machine with pods! The farm is so quiet - we slept incredibly well in the big comfy bed. The Outhouse is a great place to either relax and hang out in, or to use as a base to enjoy all of the sites that are in and around Naracoorte, which is just a few minutes drive away. We had our own entrance on a side road, which meant that we didn't disrupt Rosemary and her family with our comings and goings. What a gem this sweet place is! We highly recommend the Outhouse and hope to be back sometime soon.

  • This place is fast becoming a home away from home for us as working professionals who also like to go climbing on the weekend but still need space to work in the evenings, and love the convenience of not having to set up a campsite for one night. Always comfy & clean, easy check in and so convenient 😊

  • Natimuk House is located a 10min drive from Arapiles. Really comfy house with lots of character and all the amenities you need. Tracey was very responsive with her comms. We'll be back.

    Daniel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Tracey's place while we were on work placement, and it was one of the highlights of our stay in Natimuk. The house itself was warm and inviting, with lots of homey touches that make you feel like you are staying in an actual home, and not your stock standard hotel room. All amenities supplied including towels, shampoo and conditioner and cooking utensils, etc. if you wish to cook (great meals at the pub as well). The house is on a pretty large block, full of lovely native trees and plants. There's a newly built yoga studio at the back, and if we had more time we probably would have attended a yoga class! Thanks again Tracey, we'll be back again!

    Billie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • My parents had an amazing time at Tracey's beautiful home and would love to visit again in the future. Tracey was super accommodating and kind hosts and they had everything they could’ve possibly needed. Thank you for everything!

  • The Nati House was stylish, comfortable and homely, with many thoughtful touches to make the place feel like home. Very welcoming and the local knowledge provided by Tracey was really helpful. Highly recommend this sweet house in a beautiful country town.

The space was sparkling clean, spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed for a really comfortable night. They even provided gluten free options for me for snacks and breakfast which was so lovely to find :) The gardens were perfect for a good walk around with the dog in the morning before getting in the car for the rest of the journey. • This is a great place to stay in Naracoorte. We enjoyed relaxing out back on the patio in the sunshine, and found the decor modern and quality. Rod was generous with extra towels, tp, and kitchen amenities for breakfast. We walked into town to a nice pub and took the creek walk which was lovely. I’d definitely book again. Wifi issues for us, but we weren’t there long enough for it to matter.

Part renovated so some rooms are not totally finished but has two comfortable bedrooms, country kitchen & bathroom This is a REAL country house rescue mission so please keep your expectations on that level. It is not complete & has issues like dropped floor (lounge) & cracked but stable brickwork & plaster. Open fire is in an un-renovated lounge area. If you want to use this area understand "un-renovated" 5-10 minute walk to Pub, town & River Late 6pm check out Sleep in on Sunday!
Restoring a country house back to a much loved space. It’s a work in progress but very comfortable. Floors are squeaky, plaster is cracked but it’s warm, dry & has super comfortable beds & a cupboard full of games to play Luxury touches in a rustic setting are high end natural fibre bedding: 100% French flax/linen or pure 100% cotton 500+ thread count sheets. Large 100% Turkish cotton flat weave towels & wool or feather/down Doona/Duvets. Coffee machine, microwave, small electric oven with 2 electric elements to cook on, toaster & kettle. Tea & coffee provided. Pets are allowed to stay at this property & there are a range of woollen blankets that you can cover the beds or furniture with for your doggos, please be aware that the woollen blankets onsite will contain pet hair. BBQ & portable air conditioning available **a couple of guests have been concerned about the lounge area with its largish cracks in the brickwork & plaster, the house has been through several severe drought years & although it has shifted, it is structurally sound (not moving or falling). It’s 95 years old & isn’t going anywhere soon. It has been checked by a builder. Please be aware of this when booking or reviewing. This is a fun, rustic, convenient & appropriately priced house, if you like things a bit rustic & a bit of an adventure then this is for you. If you want a 5 star new building or hotel type accommodations then it isn’t for you.
Dimboola’s excellent pub, river, little desert national park, pink lake.
