“Bar + Snacks. I recommend sitting outside on the canal boat that is across from the restaurant. Just note you have to order/pay inside then take your drinks/food out to the canal boat. This is a fantastic spot to sit and take a break and watch the city go by!”

“Café De twee Zwaantjes is a cozy brown pub located in the heart of Amsterdam. With a very mixed audience and regular tourists there is always something to do. For a snack, a drink after work, or a drink later in the evening, at café De twee Zwaantjes you can always go. Since 7 July 2007, Café De twee Zwaantjes has been owned by the owners Jos Dans and Trees Ruzette. Both have more than earned their spurs in the heavy hospitality industry. In their own way and thanks to their years of experience, they have given the café a new impetus. And very successful, if we can believe the reactions of the guests! Together the cozy owners run the pub throughout the week. ”

“Classic, refined, and comfortable—what else would you expect from a bar named Pulitzer’s? Settle into a comfy couch or leather wingback chair and order an original cocktail, such as a Pineapple Julep or the Sherry Cobbler. This is a place to see and be seen.”

“Venus & Adonis is a typical Dutch restaurant, serving of course French food as the Dutch are known for other things than their cuisine to be very honest. Simple meat and sides, in an old house on the canals, and very friendly staff. Reservations might be needed.”

“On early sunday and monday mornings there's a nice market over there (with a small playground) and you can have your applepie and coffe over there. (also a typical Amsterdam café) where you can walk in with two girls at one a clock in the morning, have small talk with the clientele while feeling completely safe.”
