I used to think that it was just me: I had a soft spot for our cottage because I fell in love with Fred there. But now that many Airbnb guests enjoy the cottage as much as we do, I believe it. It's a sweet place to experience simple rustic living.
Our cottage is a private, separate building in a quiet rural setting - located in the back yard at our home. It is a two story building with open rooms, full kitchen and bath - a little on the creative side but very clean and everything works! The claw foot tub and steps in the bathroom require guests to be steady on their feet, as do the stairs to the bedroom, which are pretty steep. A Hearthstone gas fireplace provides radiant heat and ambiance. Free WiFi is included but it is not strong enough a signal for live streaming - (it is strong enough for email and basic web browsing). Upstairs has a queen bed and a single bed with a single trundle (two singles). Downstairs couch has a double hide-away bed. So, depending on your comfort level with each other and openness, the cottage can sleep a small crowd. The cottage is totally pet friendly. Your pets are free to roam outside too, based on your comfort level. There is a big yard, woods and fields right outside the door. We also have a very friendly dog and a cat and chickens (that are in a fence). We do charge a $25 per pet fee, which we will have to add to your rate after you make the reservation. Walking and Cross country ski and snowshoe trails are right out the door. We have a little map to get your oriented. Morrisville is just five minutes away - a good sized town with Hannafords, a great Natural Foods Coop (called Morrisville Coop) a 24 hour Price Chopper 3 Pharmacies (CVS, Kinney's and Brooks), Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's about 5 Chinese Restaurants, a 4-Plex Movie Theater, and Mobile Station and a few good places to eat and enjoy live music (see my guide book below) We are 20 minutes from Stowe, Hardwick, Craftsbury and Johnson. Stowe Mountain, Jay Peak and Smuggler's Notch Ski Areas all easy drives. 20 minutes via back road to Craftsbury Touring Center. We are just a few minutes from Green River Reservoir State Park - absolutely gorgeous area! We love our land and our home and love to share it!
  • The perfect getaway for a small family, couple or close group of friends! This cottage provided the peace, quiet and simplicity that we were craving. The space was rustic but clean and tidy, with a folky/artsy vibe. The wood stove mellowed us and the claw foot tub was heavenly. We were blessed to get a heavy snowfall, and enjoyed excellent sledding and snowman-building on the property. Gerette and Fred were gracious hosts - friendly and helpful, yet totally respectful of our privacy. The location was perfect - nestled in the woods under a blanket of stars, yet just a few minutes drive to a large supermarket, gas station, a couple of restaurants, etc. We will not hesitate to return next year if our holiday plans allow it!

  • The cottage proved to be the perfect escape from the city. We were able to sample some excellent local beer and food, wander trails just outside the cabin, and unwind by relaxing in front of the fire. Gerette and Frederic were tremendous hosts, making sure we felt at home from the minute we arrived. We will definitely be back.

  • Gerette was an incredibly gracious and helpful host (even providing us with eggs from her chickens)! It was obvious straightaway that Gerette goes out of her way to make sure that her guests are comfortable and she's full of great tips and advice for things to do in the area. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed staying at her cozy cottage!

    Natasha2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. What a great experience! Gerette was so kind and accommodating throughout our stay! She made us feel right at home and was kind enough to provide fresh eggs and walking trails for our enjoyment. I would highly recommend the Dream Haven to anyone who needs a place for rejuvenation and Mother Nature!

    Kay2016-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time at Dream Haven during a snowy/rainy April week. The cabin is so cozy and warm, we didn't even mind that it wasn't spring yet! Gerette is a wonderful host and immediately made us feel comfortable. She greeted us when we arrived and sent us off with blueberry muffins when we left. She gave us helpful information during the week about places to hike, restaurants, things to do in "bad" weather. After one day, we felt like the place was home. The photos are exactly what it looks like. It is funky, cozy, very clean and charming. We had everything we needed. We especially loved the lovely hiking around the property and pond. We plan on coming back in warmer weather and do ski in the summer. Thanks for our favorite airbnb and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) yet!!

    Christine2015-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I needed a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and Dream Haven was the perfect solution! The cabin is quiet, quaint, and extremely clean. I could not get over the fact that this place had spring water from the tap, this may actually have been my favorite part! Besides relaxing in the Dream Haven, we were able to find some great hiking spots and places to eat. Not to mention, Ben and Jerry's is just about 30 mins away, don't miss out! If you are considering a stay here, definitely do!

    Michelle2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gerette is a wonderful host and Dream Haven was everything we hoped for and more. We had a lovely stay and hope to return in the future!

    Shane2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gerette made us feel very welcomed. Our check in/check out was smooth. She left us local Vermont butter and honey from her bees. It was delicious. The house is really quirky and charming. We felt home during our 4 day stay. The house is 20min drive to Stowe and an hour away from Burlington. We went to snowshoeing at the Craftsbury and Morse Farm trails. They also had country skiing trails as well. Both are close to the house around 30min-1hour drive. Stowe has all kinds of fresh and local produce including heavenly cheese and bread and the house had everything we needed to prepare basic meals at home. Overall we left feeling refreshed and connected with nature. Vermont has a great culture of being active, eating fresh and feeling positive. And Gerette's place is great reflection of this culture. Thanks for everything Gerette. Happy Holidays to you and your family. Dilara

Bright, airy, private one bedroom apartment in our 1840's farmhouse. Surrounded by craft breweries, farm to table food, cross country & downhill skiing, lakes & mountains, miles of dirt roads, beautiful views -- and only 5 minutes from I-91 and a 5 minute walk to Parker Pie.
Relax into the comfort and convenience of your own private apartment. You'll have a large, airy, light-filled great room with living, dining, and kitchen areas, a cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a spacious bathroom with tub and shower. The kitchen is well-equipped with a Keurig coffee maker (and a French press if you prefer to bring your own special grind), dishes, pots & pans, utensils, a microwave, and toaster. We supply a selection of K-cups, cream and sugar, and a few basic spices. The lodge is spacious for a couple, but will comfortably accommodate four people. In addition to the bedroom, there is a pull out sofa in the great room and an air bed if needed. Our house is a typical Vermont farm house (1840's) and has a stable attached to the house. We have 35 acres which includes horse pastures and lower woods and wetlands that are fun for aimless, meditative walks. We also have a dog and two cats. Although the opportunities to explore the rich cultural and recreational offerings of our area are almost endless, many of our guest seem to enjoy simply being in the lodge. It is a very pleasant space, no matter the season or weather, to escape, relax, and rejuvenate.
The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont has become a destination for people interested in world class craft beers, ciders, and spirits, artisan cheeses, and a vibrant local food scene. We are within half an hour of Hill Farmstead Brewery, Jasper Hill Cheese, Craftsbury Outdoor Center and numerous lakes and hiking and biking trails. Bread & Puppet is just down the road in Glover. Burke and Jay Peak ski areas are an easy 45 minute drive. From our house you can walk or bike to Parker Pie for great Pizza and beer. Lake Parker is a five minute drive and has a public boat access. Bring your bicycles, and you could spend a weekend exploring the miles of beautiful dirt roads that connect West Glover, Irasburg, Albany, Craftsbury, and Greensboro.
  • My friend and I stayed one night at Anne & Brian's lodge and found it cozy and welcoming. We woke up to a beautiful and peaceful landscape. Anne & Brian made sure we did not miss anything and were very flexible. We recommand it!

    Alexandre2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • The lodge is wonderfully serene and immaculate, plus the perfect mixture of modern renovation and amenities in a rural and rustic setting. It's a superbly cosy-but-uncluttered relaxing place to stay. (N.B. to those with pet allergies: the lodge passed with flying colors, we had not even a sniffle!)

    Erika2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Lodge was perfect! It was very clean and even better than pictured. We arrived late on a Friday and didn't have a chance to meet the hosts. However, Anne was very easy to communicate with and she left specific instructions to make our arrival super easy. She also gave us a restaurant recommendation that was spot-on. The kitchen is fully equipped which we utilized for breakfast and coffee. We would definitely stay were again!

  • Came in for a one night Monday evening stay after visiting Hill Farmstead brewery with four beer industry friends. This place was an amazing accommodation for four grown men, with ample sleeping arrangements for all. Lodge is above the garage with shared entrance into a cool and unique tack room. Experience the horses in the adjacent stable from the tack room, and then head upstairs to the impeccably clean, spacious, and comfortable living space. Strong WiFi and many AV connections for playing your own music or video including apple TV. Highly recommended.

    Steve2016-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and Brian, for the brief time we spent/talked with them, were exceptionally pleasant. Their partly renovated farmhouse was lovely, and our living/sleeping quarters were spacious, cozy, inviting, etc. Tired from a day of snowboarding and with snow beginning to fall in the later evening, we relaxed in front of the TV, full from the delicious food/beer served down the street at the Parker Pie Company. Just an overall enjoyable time and experience. Strongly recommended.

    Evan2016-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Anne and Brian did a fantastic job communicating with me so that when I arrived I knew everything I needed to know. The listing was as described, a cozy (and very clean) apartment that I honestly wish I could have stayed in longer. The Vermont countryside matched perfectly with the atmosphere of the home, and the foliage was absolutely picturesque all around us. A truly stunning view from out on the front porch. It also didn't hurt that down the street was a terrific pizza shop with amazing local beers on tap. The Lodge at Blackberry Hill was a great experience all around and a place I would definitely stay again for a nice quiet escape. Thanks!

    Daniel2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The best review is perhaps the one where you book a space a second time before you even departed the first time...and that's exactly what we did! This was our second time at the Lodge and it was once again a lovely get away. The space is large and clean, very well appointed and so easy to relax into. With delicious pizza and beer right down the road and a well-stocked kitchen, you have all you need for a weekend or a week getaway! This is truly a find in a lovely part of Vermont. You will not be disappointed.

    leandre2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don't quite do the space justice as light pours in on three sides in the main room. The apartment is newly (and well) appointed, extremely clean and cozy. On the theory that you can tell a lot about people by their animals and their books, I come away with an impression of generous, kind and intellectually curious people. I'm sure we'll be back the next time we're visiting family in the area.

Cozy renovated walk-out basement with two rooms, private bath and private entrance, offers all one needs for a secluded getaway in the mountains of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. You will enjoy the quaint log cabin atmosphere, with walking/snowshoeing trails right on the premises. Close proximity to skiing, hiking, cycling, swimming, breweries and much more Vermont has to offer!
The guest room has it's own private entry and bathroom. The bed is a comfortable queen with a down comforter. There is a desk for writing/reading. It is cozy and quaint with a wood stove for cold winter evenings. Across the hall there is a room with a day bed (twin), mini refrigerator, table, and microwave. The private bathroom has a nice shower and an area to hang clothes.
I live on a quiet dirt road. It is a nice road to walk, run or bike on. Although, I have neighbors on both sides, they are unable to be seen due to the woods around my property. Sunsets are often very lovely from my deck.
  • Lisa's home was the perfect cozy respite after a fun day exploring this gorgeous part of Vermont and enjoying the fantastic Hill Farmstead Brewery! Her home is spotless, and we had a great night's sleep in our quiet room. Lisa could not have been more friendly and welcoming. This would be a great place to stay if you're visiting the area any time of year, but we were particularly lucky to be here in October, as the view of the mountains and colorful foliage from her property is breathtaking. We'd definitely recommend Lisa's cabin!

    Cait2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • I would absolutely recommend staying at Lisa's place! Lisa was a wonderful host, and went well above and beyond what would normally be expected of an AirBnB host We were lucky that Lisa was around and had some free time and we got to hang-out with her and have a great chat over breakfast. The log cabin is wonderful - everything you would expect, and the pics definitely don't do it justice. If the location accommodation layout suits you - don't think twice about it. You won't find better - and certainly won't find better value. Lisa - it was great to meet you. Thanks for making our stay in Vermont so enjoyable. Kevin (and Mum Pat)

  • The cabin , inside and out, is more beautiful than the photos portray. The yard is surrounded by the woods. Very quiet and secluded. It is a true "get away" experience. Our one night stay was not enough to absorb it all. Lisa is an awesome host. She is ready to engage in a conservation about everything and anything.....like a dear friend. She really cares about your comfort and will go out of her way to help.

    deb2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • 500 words are not enough to say how much I loved Lisa and her beautiful log cabin in the woods. Although both my Garmin & cell phone GPS devices gave up by the time I reached my destination, once I arrived I knew I made the right choice. Lisa made me and my 83-year-old dad feel at home immediately, and I instantly felt like I knew her my whole life. The photos on her profile are accurate, but they don't do justice to her beautifully designed yard and interiors, or the breathtaking views of the mountain ridgeline in the distance. I also didn't realize until I got there that she has 10+ acres of pristine hiking trails that she and her family have cut and maintained for years. Unfortunately I didn't have time to hike any of the trails, or bathe in the sun on the back porch, but I can't wait to return and spend time with my new, lifelong friend, and her lovey dogs. My dad and I each had our own room and shared a private bathroom. The rooms were immaculate, with cheerful posies of sunflowers and daisies by our bedsides. As soon as we checked in, we had to run back out for my nephew's baptism, but Lisa was very accommodating and helpful getting us to our next destination. We didn't get back to the house until late, but the cabin was just as charming at nighttime as it was in the day, and I was thrilled to see the dying embers of a fire pit right outside my bedroom window. There's a private entry way to the first floor bedrooms, so I stood outside awhile to take in the dazzling sky and fresh mountain air. I literally slept like a baby in the room I stayed in — woke up with my arms stretched over my head, which is something I rarely to never do. When I woke, I was pleasantly surprised to hear my dad laughing and chatting away upstairs with our hostess, who cooked him a hearty breakfast of eggs and fresh-baked scones. He's a bit hard of hearing, and not normally warm or chatty with strangers, but he had zero problem hanging out solo with Lisa, and when I joined them for coffee, fruit and scones, I felt like I was waking up to a homecoming. We actually were in Vermont to see family, but had so much fun chatting the first morning that we ran a little late in seeing them! We only stayed two nights, but I could have happily stayed two weeks, and now feel a little possessive about this piece of heaven that I've discovered via AirBnB. Almost don't want to tell anybody about it... but can't stop myself from gushing!!! Lots of love to Lisa and her beautiful family. xoxo --Lynn Thank you, Thank you!!!

  • Lisa is a wonderful host in a beautiful home. Her cabin is on a hill with a beautiful view, close to many attractions varying from skiing to hiking, sledding, snowshoeing, sojourning, cycling, kayaking, swimming, whatever you can think to do in the mountains and on the lakes! The amenities are plentiful and the beds are comfortable. Lisa herself is a very warm and welcoming person, we chatted when we arrived and over breakfast, and we had a fantastic weekend at her house. I would strongly recommend staying with her if you would like to explore northern Vermont while being tucked away in the mountains!

  • Lisa is Nice and place is calm and cosy

    André2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The experience we had at Lisa's house was unique. Her home was completely built with wood and it is beautiful. She made us feel very confortable very quickly and she took care about the breakfast leaving french notes to guide us around the kitchen, very cute. The place is located in pure nature and the forest is her personnal garden. Don't hesitate and enjoy your stay!

  • The Mountain Chalet is a lovely place to stay – beautiful sunsets and views all around. It was quiet and secluded but close enough to make day trips to Stowe, Burlington and St.Albans City. We stayed for a week and it felt like home. There was everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, good Internet connection, and a nice deck to sit and enjoy the views with our morning coffee. We grilled a couple of times and sat around the fire pit late into the night. The skies were so clear at night we even saw the Milky Way! My parents went out for walks in the morning, my niece loved riding her bike around, and my morning runs were so peaceful. We really enjoyed feeding the horses every single day – morning and evening! They even allowed us to pet them. This was the highlight for my niece. Beth is very friendly and was helpful and prompt in answering any questions we had. I would love to come back here again. Would definitely recommend staying at the Mountain Chalet.

    Madhavi2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's chalet is exactly how it appears on Airbnb! It is a great home with a beautiful view. It's cozy and has everything you will need for sleeping, cooking and entertainment- communicating with Beth was super helpful and easy. It was also nice to feed the horses apples every day! My friends and I loved it, we would definitely like to come back to this home if we go back to Vermont.

  • Beth's place is a great find for a weekend away with family or friends! Plenty of sleeping arrangements (that were very comfy) and in a beautiful location. Located on a beautiful mountaintop 25 minutes from Jay Peak. Well stocked with kitchen supplies and blankets, pillows, etc. Beth is so communicative, helpful and kind! Perfect little spot!

    Vivian2017-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Beth's house. It's cozy, clean, not too small and not too big. View of the mountains from living room windows are stunning in the morning. Beth made everything she could do to make us feel welcome in her house and it worked. We'll be back!

    Vlad2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beth was a great host. There was coffee in the freezer and fresh vegetables on the counter. It felt like coming home. She was very easy to work with, and ensured that we could check in at midnight and a very rural location. We will definitely contact Beth for our next visit.

Our neighborhood is basically a quiet dirt road without too many neighbors. The neighbor to our right is the Old Stone House Museum. It is a historical museum with 5 structures and 2 barns. It's the historical home of Alexander Twilight and also the Historical Society for Orleans County, Vermont. http://oldstonehousemuseum.org/ They have many special events throughout Spring, Summer and Fall.
  • Dawn's place is the perfect home away from home for a weekend. My friends and I felt so comfortable there relaxing, eating, playing games, and recovering from our day hikes and adventures. Dawn has thought of absolutely everything you could want in a home, and she has it there waiting for you! We felt so taken care of. Thanks for a wonderful weekend, Dawn!

  • Apt is rustic, spacious, and well cared for. Gracious host, with complimentary breakfast food and snacks. Out of the way in northern VT, but right near our daughters home (also near the great town of Newport, and near Jay Peak).

This is a quirky old house without a single straight door, wall or window but its light, bright and comfortable with great views. We've furnished our "Little Crooked House" with care and for comfort and we hope you love it as much as we do! ❤
This is a great place to enjoy and explore the Northeast Kingdom year round. Easy to find just outside of the village of Barton, south on Route 5 and about a mile from the I91 (exit 25) We have tried to be environmentally and socially responsible in making our "Little Crooked House" a home; trying to re-use, recycle, up-cycle and repurpose wherever possible. We try to avoid "big box" stores and play our part in supporting the area's micro-economy by buying local and using local services and trades people. USEFUL AND INTERESTING STUFF The property is elevated from the road and accessed from a driveway shared by our neighbor. There is enough space to comfortably park two to three vehicles dependant on the size of vehicle (although we've found that parking a large vehicle dirctly in line with the kitchen window interferes with the Wifi signal; (a quirk of our little crooked house, I'm afraid!) Once on the driveway access to the house is fairly level and should be pretty wheel friendly for wheelchairs and buggies etc with all amenities on the ground floor. Please ask before booking if you have any concerns about this. The house was built around 1875, not much more than a century after the famous Roger's Rangers found refuge and sustinance on the banks of Crystal Lake. Like it's setting, some of the fixtures in the house seem to be out of a history book and some are more "shabby" than "chic", but we love it the way it is! ❤ The kitchen has a gas stove, refrigerator, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and most of the pots, pans and dishes you should need (however please note, there's no microwave) Two of the bedrooms are off the living room, one facing the lake and one facing the wooded rear of the house. There are two further bedrooms on the first floor that are available on request. The living room overlooks the lake and has a sofa and two comfortable armchairs to relax in. I'm sure you'll have lots more interesting things to do than watch TV but there's a flat screen with Netflix & Hulu etc and a dvd player should you wish to use them. TV comes via the Internet and whilst reception is generally good, weather conditions can sometimes disrupt the signal so worth considering bringing your own favourite dvds in case of rainy days! We have a small collection also (hidden away in the ottoman trunk) but they may not be to your individual taste. There are mountain bikes, fishing rods and golf clubs available; please let us know if you would like to use them.
The Northeast Kingdom is not only beautiful but full of interesting people, art, culture and history everywhere and an abundance of outdoor activities to enjoy year round. Enjoy fresh water swimming, biking, hiking, skiing and fishing. Barton is a small town full of people going about their daily business. It has the usual facilities including banks, a post office, a hardware store, a well stocked supermarket, a gas station, a library and a church for almost every day of the week! Barton Village Treasures is one place I can't pass without visiting and rarely leave without buying something! Year round "Parson's Corner" serves breakfast and lunches (except Tuesdays when its closed); try Dave's pancakes with Monroe's Maple Syrup (be sure to take some home, it's the best in the State!). But for a truly unique summer dining experience "The Copper Plate" at River's Edge Farm Stand (by I-91 intersection) is not to be missed! Eddie is a whirlwind and serves the most delicious lobster rolls this side of Portland Maine! In the summer Crystal Lake State Beach, across from the Little Crooked House, is busy with families enjoying the sun, the sand and fresh water swimming. For a few dollars visitors can take a car into the beach area and use the amenities of the park including showers, toilets and barbeques; you can also hire kayaks. There's a lively saloon a few hundred yards down the street and I'd highly recommend going to the "open mic" sessions on Wednesday evenings when some exceptionally talented musicians get together and play just for kicks! Parker Pie in West Glover is seriously the best place around by miles for pizza and micro brewed beers; they serve until around 9pm most nights There are also regular music, quiz and specials nights; these change dependant on the season, so worth checking their website for up-to-date information. The Carriage House in Orleans is a beautiful building, recently restored and opened as a Café and Grill; it's a lovely place to go for brunch and early evening meals. Village Pizza on the outskirts of Orleans, on Route 5, serves great food and has two separate areas, one of which is suitable for families with children (includes a games arcade) If you're willing to travel a little further, The Tap Room in St Johnsbury is worth the trip for atmosphere and a great selection of wines, craft beers and organic, homemade food.
  • Good place to rest your head after a day of skiing. Beautiful view of the lake

    Karl2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our short stay at Joanne's home! The place was exactly as described and met our needs while we were in town for a wedding. Communication with the host was very smooth; check in was easy; the house was very clean; and we really appreciated how friendly and helpful Colleen was. She gave us a few suggestions on places to eat and she was spot on with her recommendations. The only thing that was slightly different than I anticipated was the lake access. This wasn't due to any misinformation from the host or the listing. To get to the beach for the lake you need to walk around the train tracks and a park or more realistically drive a few minutes. No problem, just good to know. Also watch your head when you use the bathroom upstairs and when you walk up the stairs; I bumped my head so many times! Once again, no problem; just good to know.

  • Joanne's cute little crooked house was perfect for our short getaway weekend. We had everything we needed and both her and her neighbour (who looked after us while we were there) were very kind and helpful.

  • Great place, good location. The place was clean, and as described. The kitchen works but is pretty sparse on utensils and implements. If you are planning on cooking then bring everything you need. There are a few pans to warm things up. Wi-Fi was spotty for me but that's likely fixed by resetting the router.

Welcome to Clayton's View, a fully-furnished 3BR/2BA log cabin with cathedral ceilings, bright morning exposure, and a wood-burning stove (among other things). Perched on 10+ acres with sweeping valley views, we're halfway between ski resorts Jay Peak & Burke Mtn., surrounded by farms, mountain biking, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails (and only a stone's throw to the world famous Willoughby Lake). It's a wonderful vacation spot on a sleepy dirt road away from all of the static.
It's all about location. You'll know what I mean when you arrive. We have a lovely wood burning stove and the stars on a clear night are spectacular.
    Neighborhood? LOL.
  • My stay at Clayton View was better than I’d even hoped for. If you’re looking for a relaxing and adventurous mountain getaway, while still maintaining clean, modern amenities, this is absolutely the place to go. The home is full of life with so many great little touches: from the art covering the walls to a speaker hookup to play your music from the second floor, which looks out upon a stunning window and view of the mountains. Toby was a very attentive, friendly host who clearly put the time and thought into making this a welcoming and beautiful home. I went to a lot of different places, but you could just as easily stay and chill in this beautiful space. This would be an awesome spot for a big group of family and friends, with 3 great bedrooms and 2 clean, spacious bathrooms. I highly recommend visiting Newport and Lake Willoughby. And if you’re up to a challenging hike up Mount Pisgah, I went up the North Trail and the summit had a breathtaking view of Lake Willoughby and surrounding mountain ranges. I visited here on a whim not knowing quite what to expect, and I’m so glad I did. I can’t wait to visit again and was so sad to leave. It was snowing when I left and I’m so jealous of anyone coming here when it’s a full winter wonderland! This was an adventure I’m so glad I took.

    Meredith2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tobias' place is incredible. A beautiful secluded area that's close enough to town yet offers perfect solitude. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and redefines a peaceful setting. Toby was a phenomenal host. Extremely inviting and had brochures and tips a plenty waiting for us, as well as breakfast items and towels laid out in each bathroom! If you need to get away and experience absolute mountain view serenity then this place is for you!

Ladies loved the cutlery and other stuff in the kitchen. The ambience of the house was perfect. Halloween on the edge the host was kind enough to decorate the entire house with dolls and scary creatures(in a good way :).Options for cooking BBq and everything was available to be used. • We had a great weekend stay with Chuck while skiing at Jay Peak. Room and bed were super comfortable, and the private bathroom was very convenient. Chuck was a fantastic host whose hospitality went far above and beyond expectations, and we enjoyed getting to know him. A definite reminder of how much fun Airbnb can be!

    Jason2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Chuck the first night of our 6 day cycling trip. We had a great time meeting and talking with Chuck. The house is lovely and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The views are gorgeous. Vermont is beautiful and especially so from this house. We love dogs and Jezebel, an animated Newfoundland and Leona, a laid-back Tervuren shepherd were a joy to have around. We highly recommend a stay at this airbnb. It's near Jay Peak, so if you're a skier this would be a great place to stay.

    Rachel2015-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! What a wonderful stay at Chuck and Dominque's gorgeous and stunningly located home. Peaceful, comfortable accommodations with all the appointments one might need, personable hosting and wide-ranging conversation, delicious home-made comestibles, and the gradually increasing love of beautiful Jezebel the Newfie...just the kind of delightfully memorable experience that really enriches one's travels. Thanks!

    Benjamin2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck was very communicative and was very welcoming when I arrived. The home is lovely and it was a pleasant stay. I would note, however, there are two big dogs and even though they are not in the rooms it is noticeable there are dogs in the home. I have some animal allergies and asthma, and was slightly bothered just being in the dining room briefly.

    Ann2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I travelled to Vermont for a weekend of skiing at Jay Peak and Dominique and Chuck's home was the perfect place for our stay. Never have I met a more hospitable host! We truly enjoyed the accommodations and also the very personable company. We would gladly book again! Interested travellers should know that grocery shopping is not readily available in Lowell (nearest store >30 min drive away). Also, you should be able to tolerate or have an affinity for incredibly cute dogs.

    Jason2014-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We were so lucky to find Chuck and Dominique and that they let us into their home on such short notice to spend two days with them in their charming home. Chuck baked for breakfast (he makes his own jam!) and they invited us to dinner. Chuck is an excellent cook and I would hope to entertain for them as thoroughly as they did for us some day. The bedroom was cozy and we had our own bathroom. Be prepared to fall in love with their dogs, grand dame Leona and spunky Jezebel, as well as their beautiful grounds and sweeping views. A sweet escape! Thank you so much, Chuck and Dominique.

    B2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Dominique and Chuck are raising the bar for quality hosting! Our stay was aaamaaazing!! We felt like we were staying with old friends! The house is huge and very comfortable. With beautiful bedroom - fantastic view and very comfortable bed. Fireplace is always on and the living room is so cozy. Chuck's delightful cooking and deserts were unforgettable. And blueberry jem was soo tasty. Both hosts are so fun and entertaining - we had many engaging conversations. All in all I have more positive things to say than the word limit here! You will be lucky to stay here! I can't wait to visit again!

    Yulia2013-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck was a friendly and great host! We booked last minute at 3pm for later that evening, and he got back to us very quickly! Gave us good directions and all was set. We got there at 10:30pm, and he was waiting up for us. Location: Pretty close to Jay Peak, which was our destination. About 20 minutes away. It's fairly remote, and there's no stores or gas stations nearby. This was noted in his posting, so we knew what we were getting into. No issues. Accommodations: Great! A nice queen bed and lots of pillows! Good size room also. It was very clean and well maintained. Had a great sleep. Amenities: You get your own bathroom, which was great. We only stayed one night, so didn't get a chance to see what else was there. Host: Chuck was very friendly! Offered us a drink right when we stepped in, and had good stories. Dominique was away on business at the time, so didn't get a chance to meet him. They also have two dogs (very friendly), which was mentioned on hist posting. Would come back again!

  • Kristen encouraged my husband and I to feel totally welcome in her lovely house while she was away and we did. The spot is totally enchanting. We spent most of our time sitting on the dock looking out at the lake. We saw eagles and osprey catching fish and caught sight of and heard the loons, which make a haunting sound at night. We had a great time taking Kristen's canoe, which has oars, across the lake (though we should have taken an extra paddle so I could help my husband get us back home after the wind whipped up). We also enjoyed the firepit one of the nights we were there. The beds were comfy and we got several good night's sleep. The AT&T phone coverage was spotty but the wifi worked fine for us to get online and get our email. We will definitely return if we have a chance!

  • The place was gorgeous, with wall to wall windows over looking an untouched field of snow and in the background, you can see Jay Peak. There is plenty of space to sleep with a queen bedroom, plus an open loft with a queen and 2 twins. The couches were large & comfy as well next to the wood stove. We came up during a blizzard and the host actually got stuck in the driveway and stayed with us the first night. Although unexpected, he was very kind and made us feel at home. They also offered to refund this night and followed up to provide the refund very quickly! We had a lovely stay and got some great skiing in. Would definitely go back.

    Megan2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Philip's place was amazing! The views are lovely, the spot was quiet and remote, and it was nice not being on a regular 'campground'. We felt like we were in our own little world. The actual campsite is an 8-min short walk into a trail (pack light!), so make sure you've got water/wood/food if you don't want to go back and forth to your car. We arrived late on the night of our stay (9pm) and Philip couldn't make it, but he made sure to send us detailed instructions and we had no trouble finding our way to the campsite. We'd love to stay there again, and would definitely recommend it to our family & friends!

  • Scenic! Had a great stay

    Val2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean camp spot with a great overlook of the lake. As a previous review stated, there is light traffic noise and noise from the lake.

    Tiffany2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice campsite that overlooks Crystal Pond. There is some light noise pollution from I-91. Sunset was fantastic.

    Shawn2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Philip has set up a number of tree houses near the campsites! We got the wonderful pleasure of climbing them and watching the sunset. Amazing!

Recently renovated with direct access to Crystal Lake. Large covered porch and yard with waterfalls through backyard; near Jay Peak & Burke Mountain ski areas; Craftsbury outdoor center, Golf, biking, horseback, fishing, snowmobiling. All 4 Seasons!
  • Krista communicated with me about availability of the house, and I felt that she was available by cellphone if I needed anything. The house is in a beautiful location, and has a good feeling, several comfortable couches, a great kitchen and lovely porch.

    Lesley2016-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Krista responded extremely quickly to my emails. We used her cottage for sleeping only as we had somewhere to be near by early in the morning and we lived 3 hours away. We weren't at the cottage for more than 11 hours total but it was actually much better than I expected. I think of cottage and, well, I think of relatively rough quarters. That is definitely not what Krista offers. It's a lovely three bedroom lake house with lots of wood interior. The beds were very firm which is great for me, I slept like a rock. My wife prefers softer beds. We were even able to bring our dog which is great because she's getting older and gets separation anxiety. Krista was wondering in letting us bring her as well.

    Jan2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Krista was a helpful host with prompt responses to any questions. Check in and out was very easy. The home is a very large two-story house, with lots of room. You can't see the lake from this location but it's a close walk to a private beach and a short drive to the state park beach. The wraparound porch with one section that had a roof and one section that didn't, was great for the various weather conditions. It's on a fairly quiet and small road. We enjoyed our stay very much!

    Liv2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time staying at Krista's place. Everything went super smoothly, and the location is awesome - just a couple minutes walk from the beautiful lake shore! Wholeheartedly recommend.

    Sam2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We Had the most amazing time staying here! We took full advantage of the beach, waterfalls and huge front porch when the rain was coming down. The kitchen came fully equipped with everything we needed to make delicious dinners and we even had full cellphone service. I strongly recommend staying here.

  • This was a great place to stay near Crystal Lake. There's lots of room and it's a clean, uncluttered rental. There are two queen mattresses - one is soft and the other is very firm. The twin beds are firm with a comfortable top. The yard is lovely with a waterfall in the back and a grill available.

    Catherine2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place near the lake

  • The cabin was perfect for our needs. We were happy with the cleanliness and ease of checking in and out. Great location, right by the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped for prepping meals which was nice! We will be back!

Come and embrace the majestic beauty of Vermont from Sugar Hill, a quaint log cabin nestled on 24 acres of beautiful countryside. Enjoy the views of the Canadian mountains from the front porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine; or wander around the pasture or woods behind the cabin. Close to both Jay Peak and downtown Newport, you can enjoy all those locations have to offer, or simply relax. Please note that the stairs to the 2nd floor are steeper than usual.
  • A true gem. If you're looking for that log cabin VT experience with some modern features and comforts, this is it. Great views, amazing piece of land and lawn, and a cozy setting. John was easy to communicate with and we enjoyed our stay more than we could have imagined. Very well described, great location, and a special place to stay.

    Darren & Brooke2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time. The cabin is exactly as John describes it. It is very clean, well stocked and has all the modern amenities. John was a great host, very quick to respond to our questions.

    Scott 2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • It has everything you could need. Easy to deal with the owner. Beautiful setting with views of the mountains, and plenty of fields to walk around and explore. It is bigger then the pictures suggest. Would recommend it to anyone.

    jacob2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house and property were great, the rooms were larger and more comfortable than I expected from the photos. We really enjoyed our stay. It was great to have AC and wifi, though there were a few occasions when the wifi went out for an hour or so. As others have mentioned, the stairs up to the bedrooms are steep, and could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The property felt very private, but the location was a convenient 10-15 minute drive to Lake Memphremagog, where my husband was participating in the Border Buster swim, and downtown Newport. We all agreed we would definitely stay in John's adorable log cabin if we visit the area again.

    Erin2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this cozy cabin! We skied Jay Peak and found the location to be convenient and easy to find. If visiting in the winter months I would suggest an all wheel drive vehicle as the drive way is fairly steep. I would highly recommend staying here. Perfect place to get away and hunker down by the fire with a book!

    Amanda2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • John was very helpful and accommodating. The cabin was beautiful, warm and clean. You can tell there was a lot of love put into the home and the property. The grounds were meticulously cared for as well as the house. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was equipped with everything you need. I throughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely go back.

    Kerstin2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was in a perfect location, with beautiful scenery and close access to everything. We went into Canada a couple of times and enjoyed several restaurants in town. The log cabin style was very cozy and secluded. The fireplace heated the living room quickly and everything was fully stocked. There was more than enough glasses, dishes, etc. and a fully functional kitchen with Keurig. John was an excellent host and provided fast replies to our questions. We will definitely stay here again.

Sometimes you just need to get away from it all and enjoy a simple weekend in the mountains. Country living where you can see the stars at night. Our house is no frills but has all the comforts of home. Close to local attractions and VAST trail.
1 King, 1 Queen and Two Twins. Cable / Internet. Fully equipped kitchen. Dining Room and Living Room. Deck. Great place for skiing or snowriders with easy access to VAST. 3 Miles to Lake Willoughby.
Country living, dirt roads, rolling hills and countryside. Nature. Friendly neighbors willing to help.
  • Great little spot near Jay Peak. Clean house, everything you need.

  • I was on business/pleasure travel. The house would have been perfect, but the Internet, TV & phones didnt work as promised. I couldn't do my business work as a result of this. There was barely a cell signal which is understandable for Vermont. I really needed internet. The microwave didn't work either. On a good note the beds were very comfortable. I would stay there again next year if the Internet was working.

    Chris2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Brian was very helpful and he responded quickly to inquiries. This home is very clean and well equipped . It is located in a very quiet area and is very close to Lake Willoughby(the most beautiful lake in Vermont). I would definitely stay here again.

  • This was our second stay this year at Brian's house. We stayed a week in July. Although we've never met Brian, he communicates everything you need to know about renting his house. He's a great host! The listing description is accurate and the home is secluded, as stated. The neighborhood is quiet and scenic. The Fall foliage was beautiful.

  • Great private, peaceful, country location in the North East Kingdom and in close proximity to lakes, trails, Newport, VT and Canada.

    Michael2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted a getaway and this was a great place to do exactly that. The views were incredible, the place was private, and it was easy to have a good time there. My hat off to Brian with how he runs this place. It was very clean, and it looks like the place had been professionally cleaned, including all linens, bathroom, kitchen etc.. If you are looking for a place that is very comfortable, but not real high end, you will love it.

For those looking for a one bedroom with private bath & a large living room, "Downstairs at the BGV" may be for you! In a charming community; walking distance to wonderful restaurants, an easy 30-minute ride to Jay Peak Ski Resort, off street parking, WiFi and more; the BGV Downstairs, would be happy to welcome you. Until then...Happy Holidays!

The house is centrally located making it ideal for those who just like to walk around and see historic buildings, churches, art galleries... A short drive away, with an extensive menu and bar (Vermont Pie and Pasta), to the place where I get those delicious muffins (Roaster's Cafe and Deli) for breakfast and/or lunch. This is a seasonal cottage that is right on the water facing West. You can sit on the vintage porch and feel like you have left the rest of the world behind as you listen to the loons. Mostly available late summer and fall. The best time of year!
This two story cabin is tucked away in the wonderful area of West Glover, Vermont which is nearby the famous Parker Pie ( pizza-pub) , Hill Farmstead Brewery, and Jasper Hill.
Not only are you on lovely Lake Parker, but you are in a terrific neighborhood of friendly people and calling loons and croaking frogs. Peace and quiet does seem to be the way of life here.
  • Had a fantastic stay at Tester Cottage. Was exactly what we were looking for: a cozy spot right on a lake, very clean and well kept and plenty of outdoor space. We were a bit skeptical when first booked the house as there are no pics of the bedrooms but all 3 bedrooms were very clean and felt very cozy. Can't wait to return!

    Jennifer2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to get away for some sun, water and relaxation. As a bird lover I particularly appreciated the loons and the bald eagle I saw. A beautiful setting and a charming cabin. We had a perfect time.

    Robin2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Tester's Cottage! It was exactly what we were looking for - a secluded, easy relaxing time near the water. It was the first time we spent time away from home with our 4 month old baby and it was just perfect. We enjoyed an amazing sunset on the lake, kayaking, swimming, smores by the fire, and delicious pizza from Parker Pie. Even though it rained a bit while we were there, it didn't damper our time at all! And not to leave out that Sue and Bill were really great!

    Hannah2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • I only wish I had more time at this idyllic cottage. The setting and host's could not have been nicer. If peacefulness, comfort, and access to water, mountains, and small village life is what you seek, this is the place! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place.

    Jeff2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the cottage. It is right on a small lake, with picnic tables, a firepit, boats, sunroom, all available for use. We took full advantage of all the cottage had to offer despite the abrupt snow during our autumn leaf-peepin' trip! It was still fantastic. Perfect size for four friends (three double beds upstairs).

    Janel2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Sue & Bill's cottage. They were very nice hosts and were very good at getting back to us with any information we needed. It was wonderful to wake up every morning with a view out across the lake and we enjoyed using their kayaks to paddle around Lake Parker. Their cottage is very near Bread & Puppet and Parker Pies (a gourmet pizza shop), both of which we enjoyed.

The treehouse is at the very edge of Walker Pond. You are welcome to enjoy our 40 acres of forest/wetland, go canoeing in our canoe, soak in the custom made cedar hot tub, or just enjoy having a private holiday. The treehouse is located just 5 minutes from downtown Newport and is 22 minutes to Jay Peak Ski Resort.
Walker Pond treehouse is partially supported by two White Pines that are along the shoreline of Walker Pond. The treehouse has a main level, consisting of a kitchen area, sitting space, and a bathroom. Climb the winding tree staircase to the bedroom into the bedroom, which has a cathedral ceiling exposed with hand hewn cedar rafters. This room has a queen size bed (memory foam mattress), wall mounted LCD TV, reading bench, and a tiny closet. There is plenty of glass and windows, so you get the best views of the pond and field. Sunny/breezy afternoons bring the sparkle of the pond into the treehouse. It really is beautiful! Unique in design, this rustic treehouse will be fully functioning with all the essentials provided to make your stay comfortable. Also included, there will be a private deck overlooking the pond, a rustic hot tub, mini kitchen, grill, TV, etc. You will have access to the land and pond, so we invite you to go on a nature walk or go canoeing. You never know what kinds of animals you might see! So far we have seen moose, deer, bear, turkey, geese, ducks, heron, owls, otter, huge turtles, fish, and frogs.... just to name a few. Get your camera ready! While we border 20 acres of farmland, you may often see cows grazing. They are very peaceful and may greet you if they see that you are offering them grass.
Newport is a beautiful town that is growing and it is the gateway between New England and Canada. The city lies on the southern shore of Lake Memphremagog. On the western side of the 30-mile lake rises Owl’s Head. Its 3,360 foot summit offers impressive views. There is plenty to do and see while visiting. From bicycling, fishing, hunting, paddling, sailing, boating, horseback riding to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Newport, Vermont is a mecca of outdoor recreation year round. Newport also has fine great restaurants on the water and artisan local foods for all you foodies out there. Jay Peak Mountain and Resort is only 17 miles away. You can visit any time of the year. Of course, they have skiing and riding, but all year round they have an indoor water park, ice arena, spa, restaurants, and shopping.
  • The canoe makes for a perfect relaxing evening on the pond

  • This treehouse has been built with so much care and thoughtfulness, with so many details that made the stay above and beyond our expectations. Andrew and Marilou were also incredibly welcoming and accommodating hosts. They provided fresh ingredients and a waffle maker (local Vermont maple syrup was in the fridge) that we used every morning! And the cedar hot tub was a dream.

  • Andrew and Marilou are both great at communicating in a timely manner. The treehouse provided exactly what we were looking for during our 3 day stay: relaxation, peace and quiet, and a sense of privacy even though it's a short drive to town! Marveling at the design and construction of this place never gets old. I hope to return one day in winter, to enjoy the hot tub in the snow! Andrew and Marilou, thank you for your kindness and patience when we had to show up much later than expected...I'm so glad we made it there!

Tucked Inn Woods has a very private setting, secluded in the woods. It was built in the 70's, it is rustic, but has a lot of charm. It is perfect for someone that is not looking for perfection in the building, it is cozy, comfortable, a great setting, looking out on its private pond, and lots of lawn area. Has one bathroom, located on the main floor, two bedrooms up stairs. There are approximately 4 steps to get into the cabin.
2 cabins, Just Inn Time is a year round cabin, two bedrooms, two baths, pine interior, 10 yrs. old. Tucked Inn Woods is 45 yrs. old, rustic, two bedrooms, one bath, has its own private pond, only seasonal renting. Both have outdoor gas grills for cooking, plus include linens, cooking utensils, cooking stoves, microwave, etc. A complete house with furnishings. All you need is your own food. Lots of lakes in the area for swimming/boating/fishing. Several golf courses in the area. Antique shops, county fairs in the month of August. Winter time guests enjoy snowmobiling on the VAST trail that goes through our property. Or cross country skiing at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Visit our website to get more info. (URL HIDDEN) Weekend rates for both cabins are $327. for the weekend.
  • We recently stayed at Tucked Inn Woods Cabin hosted by Nancy over the weekend with my wife, baby and dog. Everyone loved it, the cabin was very comfortable and functional. The pond was perfect for the dog who loves to swim, he probably stayed in there for half the trip. The area is beautiful and quiet and we were very relaxed the entire time. The bedrooms are fantastically comfortable, the kitchen is very functional along with the outdoor grill. Everything we wanted for a weekend stay

    Andrew2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a private getaway, this is definitely that! Cute and tucked away, lots of room outdoor around the pond to hang out, and our labs absolutely LOVED running around and swimming in the pond! If you're visiting during the warmer months, I would definitely suggest bug spray for you and your pets for the biting flies - but other than that, it was exactly what we were looking for!

    Michele2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is simply unbelievable! It is deep into the woods - you wouldn't even believe that there's a place thats so comfortable and beautiful and functional in such a remote area. We were very impressed with how well-equipped and clean the house was. To top it all, the private lake, amidst all that quiet and the fall colors - our stay there just couldn't have gotten any better. Our puppy had the time of her life swimming in the lake and running in the meadows. The only down side is that there is only 1 bathroom downstairs while all the bedrooms are upstairs - a little challenging for older people that need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Otherwise, 10 on 10 for Nancy Rodgers and her cabin! I would go back any number of times, and would highly recommend to anyone interested in a quiet getaway amidst nature.

    Ramita2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a review for the Tucked in Woods Cabin. The private setting & pond are very peaceful & beautiful. I recommend you arrive during the day to see the views as you enter otherwise it is a very dark rural road. A few things to note about the cabin... the ceilings are very low so if you are over 6' you may not be able to stand up fully. The 2 bedrooms upstairs are open loft areas, they do not have doors closing them off. This did not bother me but just thought I'd mention it in case you're looking for privacy. The very small bathroom is off the kitchen on the first floor. The shower was hot with good pressure. Many towels are provided. Another fyi is that the wifi is very slow & there is no service in the area so don't bring your work with you. Overall an extremely well-worn cabin but in an idyllic spot. Nancy is a gracious host & responds quickly to messages.

    Lea2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • A+!! You can't go wrong staying at this country Vermont cabin. It has all the amenities and just what you and your family or friends need to unplug. Our yellow lab LOVED the private pond and just running free. Tons of yard space for the kids and complete privacy. Nancy was a great host and truly wants her guests to be comfortable as can be. Can't wait to come back! A true Vermont country getaway, period.

You’ll love our lakefront home, tucked away in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, situated on very quiet and peaceful Lake Parker. Picture yourself sitting in the wrap-around veranda gazing at the morning sunrise over the lake. It is a 4-season home. Fall is spectacular, the hillsides turning bright red and orange. Winter brings enjoyment of the quiet landscapes. Ski resorts & VAST nearby. Springtime brings another type of quiet with the aroma of maple syrup in the air.
Our summer home was built in 2006 with the idea of it looking like an old-fashioned cottage. Inside, however, it is up-to-date with all modern conveniences. It is very cozy, heats well with radiant heat in the floors and a gas fireplace in the living room. There is also on-demand hot water. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need to prepare your meals and feel completely at home. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The master bedroom is on the first floor with a bathroom. The enclosed wrap-around porch can be very warm and cozy on sunny days in cooler months and even more amazing on warm days. A place to rest, read and watch time go by.
We are situated on beautiful, calm and quiet Lake Parker, one of many lakes located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. This area is known for its rural nature. However, it also has many golf courses, ski mountains, cross-country ski areas, located near the VAST trail, and many interesting restaurants. There is lots of craft beer (Hill Farmstead), local cheese, and great pizza in the neighborhood at Parker Pie in West Glover.
  • We loved this cottage so much, we came back a second time!! It is just such a peaceful place and we loved spending our days in front of the beautiful lake, lounging in the Adirondack chairs and enjoying nature. The cottage is so well thought out with all the modern amenities while still keeping the charm and feel of cottage life. The wrap around veranda with windows that open up to the lake is such a great feature, it allows an outdoor feel while still providing shelter from the elements. I'm sure this cottage would be just as awesome in the winter! There is also a cute little outdoor sun porch on the side which is a perfect sun trap for sitting out and soaking up the warmth of the sun. Louise is such a pleasure to deal with and although we had everything we could possibly need, she was readily available to help out with anything. We will definitely return again!

  • We had a wonderful time at Louise's cabin! The lake and surrounding area are beautiful. The house was very nice and had everything that 6 of us needed for a long weekend of relaxing. Definitely plan to go for a long walk, check out the general store and have a kayak around the lake. The water was warm enough for swimming and the stars are beautiful from the dock at night!

    Claire2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • The most beautiful place to stay at. It is everything and more what you read about it. I also love the artwork that Louise did. It is affordable and everything you need to have a relaxing, peaceful, fun stay on a lake. Thank you so much for the best vacation!!!

  • This is a great home on Lake Parker. The home is equally lovely inside and out. The wrap around porch was my favorite place in the house to sit and enjoy the lake view over a cup of coffee. We had excellent weather, so the family all enjoyed the two kayaks, the canoe and the row boat which are all provided at the house along with an assortment of life jackets for all ages (we brought our own for the kids anyway). The swimming was great too. The street is between the house and the lake, so we made sure the kids took care to look before crossing; but the road is very quiet and there were not many cars. The location is good and allowed us easy access to other sights in the area. I would definitely stay here again.

  • We had family visiting and wanted to show them around VT. This was a perfect location and the house provided a beautiful retreat away from the city. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

  • What an absolutely gorgeous home Louise and Rich have. It was so comfortable, clean, inviting, and cozy. What a perfect vacation spot in our favorite area. Definitely a place we hope to come back to. It really felt like a home away from home. Thank you!

We’re offering a comfortable, pet and kid-friendly, A-frame log cabin surrounded by 30 acres of pristine Appalachian woodland to explore and hike. We also have a 6 acre front yard complete with a 1 acre pond you are welcome to fish and relax by. After a long day enjoying all the rustic beauty and small town charm that Vermont has to offer, you can warm yourself by our pellet stove which heats both floors of our over 1,600 sq ft 4 bedroom, 2 full baths home (sleeps 8).
We have a ramp leading up to the house for easy access. We also have a crib, a high chair, and child gates for the second floor staircase if necessary. Small and large dogs are permitted. Wifi and HD TV with access to Hulu and Netflix are provided. In the mudroom/laundry room, you'll find a washer and dryer as well as heated floors, chairs, coat hooks, and boot racks to unload your winter gear on. During your stay, you will have access to a fully equipped kitchen with a stove and refrigerator, but you can also try out the various restaurants located in the area.
Located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom in between the towns of Craftsbury, Saint Johnsbury, and Newport (and just 25 miles from the Canadian border!), our home is settled in the quaint and quiet town of Glover – named after American Revolutionary war hero Brigadier General John Glover and now home to the famed Bread and Puppet Theatre of New England.
  • We stayed at the Secluded Cabin for a weekend in early November. We were in the area specifically to visit friends, so I can't attest to area attractions, other than the town/area itself is beautiful. The house was perfect for us and absolutely loved by my kids. VERY kid friendly (bunk beds!) with great outdoor space to run and play. We were so happy we stayed here with our kids over other, what looked to be similar, properties. The hosts provided some welcoming touches and a ton of local information that was very helpful. Communication with the host was fast and check-in could not have been easier; house rules were very reasonable and easy to follow. The entire experience was awesome and I would highly recommend this home.

  • A very well kept, large home which is ideal for those with children, dogs or other people which require lots of space. Thomas clearly cares very much for the home. There was everything we needed and nothing we didn't. He left a few refreshments out for our arrival. He also supplied a very thorough and easy to read manual which was helpful. Communication was easy and straightforward. House rules were also very straightforward and reasonable. The house is on a dead end dirt road with only a few homes on it so traffic is minimal which is also important if you have children or dogs walking off leash. It is also within minutes of the highway so you are never far away from anything. Lovely home, great host, amazing weekend. Thank you Thomas

  • Our family had a great stay here. Thomas was quick with his responses and very helpful. We ventured to the Northeast Kingdom to explore the area more- mountain biking in Burke and exploring Newport. We have three young children (9, 7, 5) and they loved the house and surrounding yard and pond. They could have easily spent the entire time there- the play structure was perfect and the pond was a constant source of entertainment- including the kayak. The house was very comfortable- everything we needed. Thomas was thoughtful with some VT gifts left out for us to enjoy and he had a very easy to use and resourceful binder with everything we needed to make our stay a great one- fantastic kid movie selection! The pellet stove made the place even cozier and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. Families with small children would find what they need- high chair, crib, even gates to set up. The house had a beautiful wrap around deck with comfortable furniture and the view was just lovely- especially now in the fall. We could easily enjoy more time there. We highly recommend!!

  • This is a spectacular house on a spectacular site! We used it for a company creative retreat. All six of us had plenty of privacy and yet the group spaces were tremendously conducive to productive meetings. Taking a walk through the surrounding fields or down the dirt road provided the perfect break(s). A few choice restaurants nearby also provided relief from cooking for ourselves. All in all, a perfect gathering place for a group, whether for work or family time. (I want the name of the architect. :))

  • Second year we visit and second year our trip to the Kingdom is a success! Great place with everything a larger group could need.

  • I was so very pleasantly surprised by this home - honestly couldn't have asked for anything better! First off, this beautiful home exceed my expectations by a long shot. Yes, the photos are nice, but they certainly do not do it justice. The house is large, homey, perfectly outfitted, and extremely beautiful. Apart from the amenities, GREAT kitchen, and gorgeous sprawling windows, I absolutely loved the aesthetic of the place! Great art and lovely interiors. Every room is a gem - not to mention CLEAN. Secondly, the house owners are exceptionally helpful and nice. Nan was prompt to respond to my messages, and even provided a list of recommended local foods, activities, etc. When we found ourselves snowed in, she was quick to make sure that a snow plow came to help us out. I am very grateful for my weekend spent in this gorgeous home. Nothing was lacking. This was my first experience with Airbnb and it couldn't have been better. Thank you!

  • We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Telfer Hill Farm! The home is absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated; there is something new to see everywhere you turn. Nature surprised us with a March blizzard right before we arrived, which made us extra grateful to be in such a lovely space with several fireplaces to keep us warm and cozy. We had no trouble finding the house at all, and Nan was available to quickly answer any and all questions we had throughout our stay. We were a big, food-centric group (eating three sit-down meals a day together in the dining room) and were so happy to have a kitchen that was well-equipped to handle all our needs. Double ovens, plenty of large pots and pans, two sinks, two dishwashers, multiple ways to prepare coffee—it was a dream! All in all an absolutely perfect winter getaway. Would love to return in the summer and explore the property!

    Carey2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a relaxing house, with everything you need right there! We were a pretty big group, and there was plenty of space, kitchen had enough amenities (2 dishwashers came in very handy!), bedrooms are lovely and there's a bathroom everywhere you turn. One warning - there are no blinds on the rooms, so you can always take in the amazing view, but bring a sleep mask if you want to sleep past the 5am summer sunrise!

    Karly2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience here, everything was excellent and we would certainly stay at Telfer Hill Farm again - thank you Nan!

  • A beautiful, bucolic farm...Nancy was a warm and very welcoming hostess...the room was very clean and comfortable...plus a fabulous breakfast! A very nice stay.

    John2014-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great. The inn was large and picturesque with many rooms to choose from. I was a bit confused from the advertisement of the two cabins, and had thought that I had reserved space in one of them (based on my search filters of 'entire apartment/home') but this was just a misunderstanding on my part. Nancy was very welcoming and mad us breakfast in the morning, which was very nice.

    Rebecca2014-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was a friendly, professional host. The location was very scenic.

    Arron2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute booking for a family funeral. Nancy and her husband Jim were incredibly understanding and made a difficult trip much less stressful and comfortable. The inn an welcoming, clean and beautiful. Nancy and Jim are full of knowledge about the property and area and made conversation easy. Breakfast was delicious and felt like having a meal with family even though there was another guest I didn't know and this was my first stay. Many thanks to them both!

    Elisabeth2016-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay at the Rodgers B&B. It almost felt like staying at a relatives home, for example with the way Nancy did the wonderful breakfast and ate with the guests. Having dinner with Jim and Nancy and the other guests and passers by was also very nice. When we went for a walk around the house (3.5 miles) it started raining. Nancy noticed the rain and picked us up by car. We really appriciated this. The room was nice with a large bed and a clean bathroom. The area of the B&B is very nice in the rural North East Kingdom of Vermont.

    Jan-Willem2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay! We were going to see the Bread and Puppet Circus in Glover, and I am so glad we stayed here! Up quite windy roads to a beautiful farmhouse on an open field, Nancy's bed and breakfast is the perfect place for a peaceful night's rest and delicious breakfast. The bedrooms are clean and well decorated with antiques. The french toast was fluffy and scrumptious. Waking up in the (very) quite country side surrounded by the rolling green mountains and lakes was the perfect weekend get away. Thank you Nancy!

    Angela2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
