  • Really nice flat. Central, and not far to get into Edinburgh, but quiet and a nice place for a family.

  • Amazing place! Clean and well equipped. Nice neighbourhood with a supermarket just steps away and the railway just down the street making the travel back and forth to Edinburgh very easy. The bed was really comfortable and it was easy to adjust the temerature in the apartment. Met both Sally and Adrian briefly and they are a really nice couple making us feel really welcome. I would stay here again anytime.

Hello, We would like to welcome you into our family home! We are a family of four with two children aged 2 and 4, and two cats named Quinn & Coulson! Our house is located in the historic town of Inverkeithing just over the Forth Bridge from Edinburgh (approx. 25 minutes away by train). The private room is very spacious and has a large, comfortable queen sized bed. We hope to see you soon! Please note before booking: As we have 2 young children, our house can sometimes be noisy during the day!
The room is very large and has a wardrobe and chest of drawers for your luggage should you need it. The bed itself is a queen size Ikea Malm bed with a very comfortable mattress measuring approximately 160cm x 200cm. There is an electric blanket if you'd like to warm the bed up before getting in. The bedroom has a tableside mirror as well as a full length mirror. If you are travelling with children, we have 1 travel cot available for an infant and an airbed for older children which will fit on the floor (the airbed sleeps a maximum of 2 children). There is no extra charge in providing these for your kids.
We live in a town named Inverkeithing which is north of Edinburgh (just over the Forth Bridge). There are various shops in the village including fast food take away outlets, a butchers, fishmongers, bakeries, bars and a couple of small supermarkets. These are a 5 minute walk from our house. The house itself is a 4 bedroom, detached property located up the hill from the village in a very quiet street. We are very fortunate to have a great view across the Firth of Forth from the guest bedroom and living room. We also have a garden to the rear of the property with a BBQ that can be used in the summer. The Fife Coastal Path is nearby offering great views across the Firth of Forth or you can take a walk over the Forth Road Bridge itself for some equally spectacular views. We are also close to the town of Dunfermline where you can visit Dunfermline Abbey and take a stroll through the wonderful Pittencrieff Park.
  • A friendly and very kind family (including the cat!) and a very comfortable room! I recommend!

    Sandra2017-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, gives you your privacy and at the same time they are open to talk anytime you want. The room is large, and really clean. The two kids are great and can be really funny and adorable.

  • It's a perfect place to stay for vacation! Train station and bus are very close ( 5min from the house ) and it's fast to go to the center of Edinburg (~25 min ), it's so easy ^-^ Ash and his wife are very kind and they told us good places to see. The bedroom is very good, spacious and we have a beautiful view too. I recommend this place :)

    Coralie2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • The room at Ash's home was great! Very spacious and comfortable! Ash and his wife, Charlie, were super friendly, flexible with check in and easy to get in touch with to make arrangements. It was about 30 mins (with traffic) outside of Edinburgh but an easy commute and close to highways to get around. Would definitely recommend this place for others to stay at!

    Anna2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ash has a lovely home in a great little town. The house is a very short walk to the train station to get to Edinburgh, it's about a 25 minute ride. The room was great, very large and it had a big window. Just a warning there are two young children here, but if you don't mind a little noise this place is perfect for you!

    Lindsay2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described and lovely people - will be staying again

    Stephen2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ash was a very good host. We arrived really late due to Ryanair flight schedules and checked in advance whether that would still be okay with him for checking in. His answer came quickly and he warmly invited us to book the room. On arrival, we were presented a cosy, wonderful decorated room, just like in the pictures. We only stayed for the night before heading up north, but would book this room anytime again. Many thanks for the recommendation of Stephens Bakery, for less than 10 quid we got a lovely breakfast for 2 + extra softdrinks! Want a great room and host? Book this one!

My home is a quaint yet modern cottage that is situated close to Inverkeithing train station and the bus park & ride, making it an ideal spot for those wishing to explore Fife & Edinburgh. Accommodation is for one or two people. Edinburgh is a mere 20minute train journey away and trains run every 10-15 minutes from Inverkeithing. So, whether you are looking for peace and tranquillity or action and adventure, I hope you find my home can offer it all.
I provide a modern home to rent in its entirety. It has one double bedroom, two bathrooms (one with shower & bath), a dressing room, large living room and kitchen. It has all the necessary comforts to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The front of the property is south facing, so on sunny days it’s a real suntrap; there is an outdoor table and chair set with fire pit that you can use should you wish. There is on street parking available. Guests can use the kitchen, crockery and appliances to prep and cook meals. WIFI is free, as is use of the Smart TV. Check in time is flexible.
The cottage is situated in Inverkeithing and is part of a ‘miners row’. It is just a hop, skip and jump to the beauty of the Fife Coastal Path where you will find unrivalled views across the River Forth over to Edinburgh. If you feel like a stroll, the Coastal Path stretches some 117miles! Inverkeithing High Street offers a range of community amenities including; local pubs, take-away’s, convenience stores, hairdressing and beauty salons, so you should find everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. There is on street parking available.
  • This was a really clean house in a lovely street with buildings with brightly painted doors. It looks liked something out of a seaside fishing village. The street was also very quiet as it is situated a long way from any main roads and so there is no road noise etc. It is also a convenient place to stay in because if you have a car you can easily get to the highlands but there is a park and ride / train station meaning that you can easily get into Edinburgh City Centre without having to spend a fortune on parking. There was a nice welcome pack which I appreciated as it sorted out my breakfasts for the week. I would definitely stay here again.

  • An ideal cottage for a couple. Beautiful, Clean and Tidy, Pauline's communication was 100% and such a lovely friendly person. This is our first time and we look forward to booking again in the future. Thanks again Jamie and Trevor. Essex England

  • A great host who did everything to ensure I arrived ok and had a great stay. Thanks very much Pauline.

    Billy2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline's place was a quirky little house in a more remote area about 15 mins from the station. She communicated well, and left a welcome breakfast basket for us! Everything was clean and tidy and kitchen fully equipped with everything you could need.

    Claire2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Another fabulous stay at Pauline's...so convenient for getting to Edinburgh as I did in the morning (very quick train and a 10 min walk from the station)...immaculate and charming a home as ever! Thanks again!

    Allie2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline's place is beautiful and very clean. She was great to communicate with prior to and during our stay. It isn't in the center of any action, but it is super convenient to the train, bus and airport. Everything that we could have needed was provided with the exception of a table; there was one outside however so we just brought it in during our stay. We walked up the street to the square and wandered into the first pub we saw (I believe it's called Gallaghers) and enjoyed meeting some very friendly locals. Walked a couple blocks to dine at Gulsha (Indian restaurant recommended by new pub friends), as well as Louie Browns. Both were excellent! I would definitely recommend Pauline's place and would stay there again.

    Linda2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant and enjoyable stay in a quiet cottage! Lots of lovely extras and a very homely place to stay! Would definitely stay here again! Pauline was very good with communicating with us and responded very fast if we needed to get in touch! Overall a very great experience!

    Megan2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a hidden gem Beautiful, clean and everything we could of asked for Highly recommended The extra special touches certainly did not go unnoticed. Thank you so much for the attention to detail, communication and the little extra things i.e. Wine and two glasses waiting, the toiletries, the candles and the list goes on !! You feel the love at Pauline's Jane & Nick xx PS make the effort to go out of the Terrace turn left and you will be treated to the most amazing views of Firth of Forth and Bridges beyond Truly worth a visit to Pauline's for everything

Clean, tidy, warm, comforting, couldn't ask for a more relaxing stay. Have done Airbnb for a while but this is certainly one of the best I have experienced. I definitely recommend her to the Airbnb community!

    Giles2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Heather has a great small house across the bridge of Edinburgh. She hires 1 room with 2/3 beds and a shared bathroom which is also her own. The neighbourhood is quiet and suburbial. Tip is to get a rental car. We liked her hospitality and being helpfull with us, giving hints on what to do and see in Edinburgh!

  • I am writing this review on behalf of my mother, who stayed in Jan's place. Jan's place with clean and comfortable, and Jan was very kind and generous in providing everything my mom needed during her stay. As it was my birthday, Jan also gave me a birthday card! Communication with Jan was very easy before, during and after the trip; she made sure we got the keys and into the house okay even though she was at work during the check in process. She was also flexible with the check out time. Thank you, Jan, for your flexibility and for a wonderful stay!

    Janice2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, cosy, homey place! A must stay if you ever plan to visit edinburgh or Dalgety Bay. Jan is lovely and made us feel like home. Will definitely come again if we ever had the chance.

    Asyraf2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was like coming home. It smelled nice when entering the hall, everything was neat and tidy. Jan had provided all information asked for in advance (restaurant, parking, key). She even offers an adapter for an EU-plug. We only could talk to Jan for a few minutes, but as many had sad before, she is a lovely person!

    Gunther2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jan was amazing!! She is so lovely and welcoming. She made us feel like we were at home away from home. Jan's home is super comfy and beautiful. We're already planning our next trip to come back and stay with Jan again! Bus transportation into Edinburgh: Very convenient. The walk to the bus stop (x58) is less than 3 mins. The neighborhood: beautiful and safe. The home: amazing!! I am in awe with the decor. Everything else: Perfect. Thank you Jan! You're awesome.

And was always available to help us during our stay. The house is very cozy and located in a calm neighbour hood. We totally recommend staying at Graham and Bev house

  • Maria was a very sweet host. She went above and beyond for us and extremely helpful with picking us up from the trainstation whenever it was easiest for us. We truly appreciate that extra care she took. Her place is not in Edinburgh city center however it is easily reached from City center with frequent buses. Maria provided us very detailed instructions on how to get from where to where and spent a lot of time helping us draw out a plan of attack to see the city in two full days. Surely we knew it wouldn't be enough time in e-burgh, but maria helped us make the most of it! She is quite knowledgeable. She provided a simple and nice breakfast each morning, with tea and coffee as we like. I recommend you stay here min 3-4 nights to actually see Edinburgh the way it should be seen. We regret not making it to the highlands, but we will leave that for our next trip to Scotland. Maria's place was very, very tidy and charmingly decorated. Cats are adorable. There were not toiletries for our use but we didn't mind. Thanks maria!! Karine and Alci

  • Its been lovely to meet Maria and stay at her place. I highly recommend hers to travellers.

    Arunima2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Maria was really eager to help us with our short stay near Edinbrugh - we couldn't have done it comfortably without her! She left us a great variety of breakfast options and was always just a text away. When I forgot an earring in her house, she kindly offered to post it to my next Scotland address! The room was cosy, and though we didn't spend much time there other than to sleep, the house is a very welcoming and relaxing place away from the bustle of Edinburgh. Truly a treat.

    Meagan2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Maria's place. The house is very comfortable and charming. Maria was a wonderful host, was well informed about the area and had valuable tips for our journey. We'd come again any time!

    Thomas2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Maria made us feel very welcome and helped direct us to all the sights worth seeing in Edinburgh of which there are many. It was further from Edinburgh than we thought, about 40 mins on the bus but the bus stop was very close and convenient. Maria had a lot of time for us and we appreciated her warmth and her willingness to help with anything we needed. I had a cold and she even gave me some vitamin C and hot lemon drinks to get me through a bad night. She was an excellent host and shared her home and even her music with us when she discovered we had shared tastes in that area. Great little breakfast was offered and she has a nice table near her garden in the sun to enjoy it in. Comfortable bed & quiet for sleeping though it was hard to keep the cats out of the room if the door was open. Indian restaurant nearby which was reasonable but not fabulous. We spent most of our time in Edinburgh as the festival was on. Buses regularly back and forth to Maria's til very late.

    Lorraine2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we booked, Maria was friendly, helpful and welcoming. We felt like we were staying with a friend we already knew and had a great time chatting over breakfast together. The interior of the house is so clean and tidy and has Maria's creative touches throughout. If you'd like to stay close to Edinburgh with a generous host who will look after you well, look no further!

  • Maria was not available during my stay, but her friend, Bill, was there to host me. He was a great host and made me feel welcome and went above and beyond my expectations. He helped me find a great place for dinner and where I could pick up some snacks for the road. I would definitely recommend staying at Maria's!

    grant2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sajid's establishment is unlike many Airbnb listings; that is, a house with a basic 'mini-room' tacked on. It is a guesthouse, in the proper sense of the word. The rooms themselves, which many would consider 'basic', are comfortable, clean, quiet and roomy and all contain plenty of storage space. Not all have ensuites, but for those which don't, there are three modern shower rooms to cater for guests. A big bonus is that all rooms are equipped with fridges and washbasins. A large central kitchen provides for all self-catering needs. There is also a large lounge in the lower floor of the building for use by guests. Sajid himself is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend Sajid's premises.

A secluded, wooden cabin with fantastic sea views, a beach below and 20 minutes from Edinburgh. Newly and completely refurbished in July 2017. All equipment is brand new. It has a large deck with safety glass and a private path to the beach. North Queensferry is a small, picturesque village, home to the 3 iconic Forth Bridges, including the rail bridge which is a World Heritage Site. It has 2 pubs, a cafe and a restaurant. The train station is 500 metres away and the bus station 1600 metres .
  • Patricia's place is a must. The view is outstanding and I've never seen anything like it before, very good for your health and wellbeing. The cabin is thoughtfully kitted out and finished in a way to reflect its history. A must to visit. Patricia and Michael are perfect hosts and I would definitely return for another visit.

  • This is a really peaceful cabin overlooking the forth. The cabin is steeped in history but very modernly kitted out. North queensferry is an interesting village and well situated for exploring Edinburgh and the Fife coastline. Perfect for a romantic break!

Three bedroom traditional semi- detached cottage in Rosyth, 30 minutes from Edinburgh across the Forth Road Bridge or by train- station is 5 minutes' walk. It is very quiet and relaxing. There is a long garden for children to play. We're near St. Andrews and the Trossachs too.
Our comfortable quiet semi is newly renovated and furnished. There's plenty of parking either in our drive or on the street outside. We have a relaxing garden with space for children to play. Rosyth has good local amenities including places to eat, pubs, banks and a medical centre. Edinburgh is 30 minutes by car across the Forth Road Bridge or by train and we're 5 minutes' walk from the station. We're close to the M90 for easy reach of St. Andrews, Stirling or the beautiful Trossachs. We are 20 minutes from the nearest sandy beach. We're also a short drive from one of the best surfers' beaches in the UK. So whether it's a city break, mountains, the beach or golf it's all waiting for you!
We love Edinburgh - experience the medieval Old Town or the Georgian New Town with shops and restaurants galore! There's usually something new to catch at the theatre or try eating by the Forth in the evening for stunning views. Dunfermline used to be the capital of Scotland before the 18th century and is equally full of history and great places to discover. There's a great silver sand beach within 20 minutes drive plus the stunning Trossachs- we love the mountains. There's a fab surfing beach too. There's Deep Sea World, a large cinema complex just up the road and various golf courses plus the huge park on our doorstep- check out the model boats on the pond!
  • We were a party of 5 a toddler and a dog , we were visiting Perth and Edinburgh so the location was perfect 30mins drive to Perth and 20 mins or so on the train to Edinburgh centre . Rachel has a lovely house , very clean and homely , great long garden which my son and dog had lots of fun in then just 2 mins walk you have a huge park that was great for the dog and also had amazing hedge row growing everywhere, lots of brambles, elderberries and rose hips which I will now turn into something tasty . Communication was great from Rachel even after we were running considerably late . All in all I would highly recommend this property and it's great host . Thanks again Rachel.

  • Very clean and confortable house with plenty of room for the 5 of us ( 2 double and a twin room). We really appreciated the welcome cake. We only stayed 1 night but will return if ever go back to Edinburgh. A particular thank you to Shirley who waited a long time for us as we were delayed

    Annabelle2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a 5-star place: everything spotlessly clean - and I mean it. Free and safe parking - we had a rented car for our journeys to Stirling, Castle Doune etc and for Edinburgh we left car 'home' and took the train (5,25 pounds return). Easy!

    Ismo2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • A real nice place to stay with a nice and cosy house and garden. Many supermarkets and restaurants all around. Rachel is really kind and we felt like home.

Our room is freshly painted, as you can see on pictures, there is not many decorations yet, but room will be nicely decorated in few days with TV and wardrobe. Room is clean and warm to make you feel comfortable. We always keep our flat nice and tidy :) You are more than welcome to use our kitchen and cook your own food. Easy access to train station just 10 minutes walk from our flat, which will take you straight into the hearth of Edinburgh in 20 minutes.
  • Great place with great hosts. They were concerned about every aspect of our stay and made sure we had everything we needed and were happy. We had a great time chatting with them, and it felt more like we were staying with friends that being at a B and B. We'll be staying there again before we leave Scotland. By the way, it's a great location to get to Edinburgh, as the train is just a 10 minute walk and it goes right into the heart of Edinburgh. Several buses just a few minutes walk from their house take you right to the airport, including a bus that goes right from the train station. Inverkeithing is an easy peasy place to stay to get to Edinburgh, without the expense or the bustle of being in the city.

    Mathew2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful flat in a fab location. As a family of 5, which includes a teenager and 9-yr-old twins, we had concerns that living in close proximity might cause sparks. Alas, this was not the case, there was plenty of room for them to avoid any major conflict.... Just perfect. We used it as a base while enjoying the Fringe Festival, so we didn't really see much of the village. Having said that, we did become very familiar with the local co-op, which was just over the road and well stocked with everything we needed. The train station is a 5 min walk and the trains to Edinburgh were really frequent. Adrian and Sally were quick to answer any questions we had and couldn't have been more helpful. Really can't fault it.

    Caroline2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Adrian and his wife Sally were wonderful! They are very helpful in helping us go around Edinburgh and nearby areas. They always made sure that we are alright. The flat was wonderful, it had everything we needed, it was also close to the essential shops like the coop and restaurants if you don't want to prepare your meals. I would love to stay with them again in the future.

  • As our visit was for a funeral rather than a holiday I can't say we enjoyed our stay but Dale Cottage was ideal for us. It was close to all the places we needed to visit - our relative's former home, the crematorium and the care home - and after some quite emotional experiences we were able to go back to the cottage, light the fire and curl up in the sofas. Louise2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Marion's home is filled with a tasteful professional and loving touch that guarantees a perfect holiday. It is comfortable, functional, enjoyable, beautiful, calm and simply elegant. It has a beautiful view of the bridges of Edinburgh from the higher garden and a very cute garden house in the lower garden. We loved it there. If you love a relaxing living room, you are definitely getting one with a large choice of entertaining options (films, books, Netflix...etc). If you love a relaxing bath while watching a nice movie or favourite series, its all yours too. You can have your aperitif with a nice background music before dinner in the garden house... This home was made to make you feel "at home"! The only thing is, as you are on holiday, you either order your meal or go out to dinner and there is no cooker. Who needs one during holidays anyway? Thanks Marion, your husband did a wonderful job.

  • Lesley and Ciaran were the perfect hosts and the house is wonderful, as is Barney the dog. I had the most lovely stay there and whenever I'm back to Edinburgh I will definitely want to stay there again.

  • Lesley and Ciaran were very welcoming for our short stay. They have a lovely house and room, just outside Edinburgh, easy to get to and close to the train station. They were very helpful with a restaurant suggestion and we had a great meal on our last night in Scotland. They also arranged a taxi for us at the crack of dawn in the morning and had breakfast set out. There are some nice walks around their village along the shore and spectacular views of the bridges over to Edinburgh. Bonnie, their doggie, was very sweet and made friends with us immediately :)

  • Cieran and Lesley were lovely hosts. They greeted this tired traveller, provided a much appreciated plate of food, as it was too late to find a restaurant in the area, and a very nice breakfast. They were very helpful to get me pointed in correct direction when I had to leave. They also are world travellers and know the travellers needs. A beautiful bedroom and bath as well.

  • Lesley and Ciaran were very accommodating and lovely to have a chat with! The house is beautiful and the bedroom is exactly what we wanted; the bed was so comfy! We had everything we needed, they even served us a nice breakfast and coffee in the morning before we set off for T in the park. The location was great, only 20 mins from the airport and it was easy for us to set off to Perth the next day. We wish we could have stayed for longer, I would definitely recommend this place especially if you're a dog lover as their dog Barney is adorable!!

  • A fantastic room and house in a great location. Only 2 minutes to the train station for easy access into Edinburgh. Fantastic hosts, we especially enjoyed the perfectly runny eggs for breakfast.

  • We thought Lorraine's unit was perfect for our needs. It's a new unit in a short term lease building. Everything was clean and brand new. Parking was easy. Linens were provided. It's close to the Rosyth train station and grocery stores. Make sure you get accurate directions from Lorraine before arrival. Overall, it was great!

The house is right on the Fife Coastal Path, so great for hiking that and taking in some amazing views. It's about 40 minutes from Edinburgh city center by public transport, but there is a bus stop very close by and train is also an option. Great house & amenities! Loved our stay and hope to be back!
