You will drive off the quiet country road, up the farm track and arrive at Top House Farm where your Shepherds Hut is awaiting. The Shepherds Hut boasts a full history with it's original owner being Sir Winston Churchill! Within the Hut is a small double bed, electrics and lighting, a small oven and stove. You will have access to a toilet and hand basin and our fabulous Hot Tub and BBQ Hut. Sadly there is no shower/bath.
With totally private use of all of the spaces you can really relax and forget about the world during your stay. The shepherds hut is a cosy bedroom space with beautiful views over the rural countryside and just around the corner is your own private hot tub which you can use as much as you like. The BBQ hut gives you the perfect place to chill out and cook your own meals on the open fire! Wood and coal etc. is all provided free of charge! The toilet and washing facilities are within the farmhouse just a short 10 second walk away.
Top House Farm is based around 0.7 miles off the nearest road and is just a short drive to several good quality local pubs and restaurants. The nearby village of Market Bosworth is popular with walkers and gathers a lot of interest from the steam train running from Shackerstone. Market Bosworth is also the home of the Battle of Bosworth and the newly found Richard III site. It's a great, quiet place to be but you are within minutes of a lot to do or you can just step out of your hut and go for a relaxing walk.
  • Hands down one of the nicest nights away! Amazing being in the countryside and waking up to nature like alpacas! Utterly stunning and will definitely be rebooking!

  • Had a fabulous stay at the hut! We got to feed the goats & alpacas and the host was brilliant.. hut had everything you needed for the stay. Ducks and dogs are so cute, it was lovely waking up and hearing them quacking. Cooking food in the hut was fun and it was lovely and warm , very relaxing stay. Alpaca bedding is super warm and snug so don’t worry about being cold! Would deffo recommend x

    Rachael2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for two nights in March, we made good use of the facilities. All of our cooking was done over the open fire which was really fun, and the hot tub is lovely and warm after a long day of exploring. We also got to meet and feed the goats and alpacas which was also a fun experience. The Sheppard's hut is cosy and comfortable. Bear in mind you are staying on a farm so take your boots and expect them to get a little dirty!

    Ashley2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, how serene! Me and my partner couldn’t get enough of the views , we had a lovely welcome and felt so comfortable. The views were beautiful, every little touch from the cozy Shepard’s hut to the relaxing jacuzzi were perfect. Lovely added extra of feeding the alpacas before we left.

    Danielle2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place for a getaway. Clean, thoughtful and great host.

    Dale2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing night at the shepherds hut, despite the weather in February the hosts bent over backwards to help make our stay as good as possible and they succeeded, genuinely lovely people, still using the jacuzzi in the windy weather and feeding the alpacas made it extra special, we will definitely come back again and we would recommend to anyone! Thankyou!!! Liv and Jess

  • A superb getaway for a night of calm and back to nature. Surrounded by countryside this secluded little hut is warm and cosy. The hot tub is a must with great powerful jets and the hut with its open fire is truly magical.

A quiet and comfortable self contained house with private off street parking in the middle of the National Forest. The pub and village shop are a 2 minute walk away. The town centre is a few minutes drive with supermarkets, leisure centre, restaurants, etc. Several lovely walks literally from the doorstep. We'll loan you our dog to show you the way if you need! Great for couples, small families or business travellers with motorway, rail and airport all within easy reach
The house is detached, self contained and has recently been refurbished. It has a fitted kitchen, dining area and living area. The kitchen will hopefully contain everything you need, including a cooker/hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and washing machine. The daybed in the dining area converts to a full size double, with bedding provided. We can also provide a travel cot if it would be helpful. The upstairs has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. The house sits opposite the main house, so while you'll always have your own privacy, we are only across the way if there's anything you need. Parking for one car is just outside the gateway to the house and away from the main road. If you are coming in more than one car let us know and we can arrange a second space for you. The house is suitable for people travelling for business or pleasure.
Packington is a small, peaceful village, set in the Leicestershire countryside just off the A42 and close to the historical market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Ashby is famous for its 15th century castle which is open for the public to explore. The town is also home to a variety of pubs and restaurants. Given that Packington sits within the National Forest we are surrounded by large and small woods planted as part of that scheme which offer lovely walks. Calke Abbey, a National Trust property, is about a 20 minute drive away. We also about 15 minutes away from Conkers Discovery Centre, 120 acres of maturing woodlands, lakes, ponds and play areas, including an 18 stage Activity Trail challenge. Slightly further afield, the National Space Centre, Twycross Zoo, Drayton Manor Park, Alton Towers, the Battlefield Line and the National Memorial Arboretum are all accessible for day trips out. The local pub, the Bull and Lion, is a short walk away and serves food on most days.
  • The place is exactly as it is on pictures. Very clean, comfy, has all the appliances needed in the kitchen. Good double bed, hot and good pressure in the shower. Very quiet for a good night sleep. Phil and Anna were quick to respond at all times, and helpful throughout the stay. Communication and directions were very clear, and check in was smooth and easy. Lovely place, lovely people, highly recommended.

  • A fantastic place to get away. Quite secluded but close to local amenities. The cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Especially the extras such as tea, coffee etc and wine. Also the shampoo and shower gel which we always forget. The cottage has everything for a perfect cosy getaway and we even decided to book an extra night which Julie ensured went without a hitch. Also has added bonus of horses and dogs. Cannot recommend enough and will definitely be returning.

We have a beautiful log cabin in our garden which is a lot like Glamping. The garden is peaceful and backs onto school fields. Everyone loves staying as its private and quiet as summer rolls in you will be cozy in a very comfortable king size bed too.
Sitting quietly at the top of a long garden. This usually peaceful setting is a delight and a place to relax at the end of your day...... on clear nights you'll see just how many stars are in the sky. A very warm welcome awaits you and you're invited to use the house for anything that makes your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
We live in a beautiful village in rural Leicestershire, the jewel in the crown. Loads to see and do, or just smile as you pass through The village is a very safe place to stay, with lots going on too. The Battle of Bosworth Battle field is a couple of miles away, there is a steam railway running past the village, a small Water Park just down the road (they do an early morning open water swim if you fancy it) and the country park is just in the village too.... Lots to see and do if you wish.
  • The garden and the wood hut is absolutely gorgeous! We had everything we needed (kettle and cooking stuff is accessible in their kitchen in the house). There is such a lovely cosy feel to the hut especially in the evening. I loved the fairy lights on the ceiling. Pippa is a great host who made sure we had all the information we needed and such an easy check in and out. The bed is crazy comfy and the place was clean and fresh. Would definitely recommend and stay again

    Amber2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space, lovely host, welcoming, friendly and Market Bosworth is beautiful, we came up for Battle Of Bosworth Festival. • Julie and Charlie are both very welcoming hosts and the fresh fruit and wide range of choice all made for a substantial breakfast. The West wing is really like a private area with large double bedroom, great looking children’s room and spotless bathroom. Lovely garden area looking out from the breakfast room too. We went to the local pub (Bull & Lion) with family and the meal there was good with generous portions and accommodating staff with particular food requests.

We stayed just one night on our way up to Northumberland but we were able to arrive late and leave late without any hassle at all. Lisa was very welcoming and the cleanliness and the thoughtful touches within the apartment were top notch. The box full of kids toys also went down extremely well! Also available as a super king ( prices vary ) if that suits your requirements better. It has been recently renovated with it's own private en suite with shower and has very comfy beds. I have 3 friendly dogs but they can be kept out the way if dogs are not your thing!

There is a recreational park with swings, slide, climbing frames for younger children and a zip wire, turtle swing and football field for the older children. The park also boasts a green gym with brand new equipment. It is a lovely friendly village where everyone says hello to you as you step out for a country walk. You are only ever 5 minutes from being in the country side. It is a lovely, safe place to live.
  • Carla’s house is really lovely. Beautifully decorated and lovely to meet up with friends. Carla was really great at communicating and recommending places to eat. We had a lovely meal at the local pub - amazing value. The shop in the village is really great for everything you might need.

  • Very tidy and lovely cottage equipped with everything you need in a beautiful area. Best bit for us was the kitchen and garden a lovely place to let the dog run around in the morning while we had a cup of tea. The Cottage looks exactly like it does in the pictures. Carla and Chris are great hosts and are there when you need them. The communication was super easy and quick. We had a great stay!

Just left to the property is a nice small local run convenience store which has everything you need and at the bottom of the road is a cozy little pub which serves amazing food! We were so sad to leave! You definitely don't be disappointed :)

Our self contained first floor one bedroom apartment is named Wilde - after Oscar Wilde and we have styled the apartment in a modern Art Deco manner in a light & airy colour palate that really makes any length of stay in Wilde a real pleasure.
The flat is accessed via a wooden exterior staircase & you enter into the kitchen area - from where you access the small hallway. To the left is the lounge, to the middle is the bathroom & to the right is the bedroom. We have worked hard to renovate much of the flat and still intend to upgrade fixtures & fittings in between bookings both inside & outside the flat to make your stay even better! Recently we have purchased a sofa bed to make it suitable for an additional adult or 2 small children, though please check first as we pride ourselves in offering comfortable accomodation, lounge is spacious enough to eat at a small dining table & the kitchen is fully stocked with an oven, microwave, & fridge freezer for longer stays. Also a new tassimo coffee-maker if you can't live without your costa in the morning (pods can be purchased from tesco express 100 metres away) There is also a dishwasher so you can completely relax without worrying about the dishes! The kitchen has all sorts of handy utensils if you need to whip something up if you are feeling creative, The apartment also has a washing machine & drier. The bedroom has a large double bed with a really comfortable mattress and lots of pillows so you can have a really good night's sleep. There is a period wardrobe to put your clothes into and we will be updating some of the furniture in the room very shortly. The bathroom has been recently retiled and other finishing touches are being added but everything is perfectly functional! We would love to welcome you to Wilde!
  • A good central location to explore area. Host communicates excellently before stay and throughout.

  • Stayed here with my boyfriend when we were attending an event and donnington park so didnt really go out in the local area, but it was great for what we needed it for! Nice size with plenty of room. We told Stephen what our plans were and he gave us some great recommendations on what else we could do in the other areas we were visiting! He was really helpful! Thank you

The apartment is located in a quiet courtyard just a few metres from Market Street, the main shopping street in the historic market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, the jewel in the crown of Leicestershire.
Awarded the Ashby Civic Society Design Award in 2016, this luxury first floor apartment, tastefully decorated, fully furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Ground Level - Entrance Hall. Level 1 - Fully fitted kitchen and dining area, spacious open plan living area with two sofa beds plus separate toilet. Level 2 - Bathroom with bath / shower, wash basin and toilet. Bedroom - king size bed and dressing table / desk. Outside - One off road parking space.
Ashby's town centre is compact and thriving, with shop after shop of independent traders, from clothing to jewellery to food and drink, you're spoiled for choice. There are a handful of chains here too, and a good selection of charity shops if you're feeling thrifty. The town's nightlife has been heralded as entertaining, diverse, safe and enjoyable. There are restaurants and takeaways, cocktail bars and nightclubs, micropubs and old fashioned drinking establishments too. Everywhere you turn in Ashby there's history and culture. The Ashby Castle ruins, which played a key strategic role in the English Civil War, were the backdrop for Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe and are the backdrop for regular re-enactment events nowadays. The Bath Grounds were once the destination for some of the first ever package tours and are still well worth a visit today while our timber-framed and Regency buildings are a testament to the town's flourishing past they're still very much lived in. Ashby is the beating heart of the National Forest. As a result the former coalfields that surround it are now green and verdant, full of nature reserves and walking spots.
  • Great location near to shops and restaurants

    Elizabeth2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Zane's place has truly everything you hope for when staying in a Airbnb. Home away from home and very comfortable. The house was amazingly clean and had everything that you could hope to have. The house is spread over two floors and is located one floor up from from the street level. It is accessed by a private door and up a private staircase. On the first floor you'll find a very well equipped kitchen, a WC, dining and living area with two couches which look to turn into beds and a TV. This whole area can be shut off from the stairs and hall area that lead up from the main entrance and then also lead upstairs to the main bedroom and full bathroom which has a bathtub. The bed is very comfortable and again the house is spotlessly clean. It was also a very quite house and I didn't notice any outside noise. The location is fantastic and is literally located just behind the high street and close to many restaurants. I was so happy with my choice to stay in Zane's place and my only regret is that I couldn't have stayed longer.

    David2020-02-04T00:00:00Z

  • Had a great quick weekend, kids loved it, Becca super helpful. Highly recommended

    Sarah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The two caravans were beautifully decorated. We loved the little homely touches, play area and Terence the eco toilet. Great communication between host and ourselves with local tips etc. We would love to go back in the summer and completely get away from everything.

    Michelle2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Stay, really enjoyed the peace and sitting around the fire pit of an evening chatting. Very welcoming on arrival. Would definitely look at staying again.

    Natalie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to get away from it all...and yet a real home from home in terms of having everything you need. Wonderful place to let big kids be kids again - having 2 separate vans meant the adults got some grown-up space of their own too. The compostible toilets were a revelation!

    Gail2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so lovely, homely and welcoming for anyone with a smaller budget who wants to have a break and relax in the countryside. Becca is such a welcoming host and was able to help us with anything we needed and was lovely to chat to. As a group of 5 we felt that there was a perfect amount of space both indoors and outdoors to socialise and relax. All kitchen utensils and plates etc are provided and the little touches of fresh flowers, cake, bread and some breakfast items were so unexpected and delicious. I would highly recommend Becca's place and would love to return in the future. The only thing I would say is to bring some flip flops or easy to slip on shoes just so going to the toilet and going between the 2 caravans is easier. We all loved our stay!!

    Emma2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in Beccas caravans with my two girls, being on my own I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect and if id be ok there on my own but I needn't have worried as we had a wonderful stay. I felt extremely safe, the area was lovely and Beccas parents were just a delight, they were at hand when ever I needed them, were so welcoming and lovely to chat to. The best bit about the stay was the amazing outdoor space, we had an entire field to ourselves and the play area with slide and bikes etc were a big hit with my girls, we haven't spent as much time outside in ages, no tv or iPad in sight. It was brilliant and having lovely weather helped. Having the two caravans enabled us to spread out, we used one for cooking and storing our bags and the other for sleeping. The caravans were clean and homely. The shower is a bonus, although it had to be a quick shower as the hot water would quickly run out. We did have a problem with a smell coming from the shower area, not so sure why but Beccas Dad was quick to respond to try and sort out. Hope this is ok now. There were lots of special touches... the cake was one of the nicest ones we have ever tasted, I wished I had bought some to bring home! We also loved all the freshly cut cottage garden flowers, plums, milk, eggs and bacon... thank you so much for these. All in all it was a perfect place to stay for us and we look forward to returning again.

  • We spent a wonderful few days in Deer Park Lodge. It’s perfect for families, with plenty of space both indoors and out. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and my kids had a great time building a den out of tree branches.

    Emma2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting. It was exactly what we wanted for a girly weekend away. The grounds are amazing and lovely to walk around. It’s quite difficult to find so I would advise guests to speak to the owners for directions before arriving

    Lois2018-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to stay. Comfortable, well-appointed, cozy and in a great area. The hosts left a basket of food and drink that went above and beyond merely providing a nominal welcome. Everything we could have needed for the stay was there from eggs & butter to cleaning supplies to towels and bed linens and a couple of good bottles of wine. Even a chocolate cake and some mince pies. The location was superb - on the awesome Staunton Harold estate and a short walk away from the Nursery, cafe and the Ferrers Arts Center. We were really only looking for a place to sleep while visiting my sister in nearby Ibstock. We normally stay with her but she has a new baby at home. This place, however, was really well appointed and would have been a great vacation destination. My 7 year old especially enjoyed helping set and light the log burning fire. We will definitely be staying again.

Hidden away in the heart of the town, this one bedroomed detached cottage set in the grounds of our private home, makes the ideal stopover for singles, couples, business travellers or small families. Located next to the Church, and within walking distance to the many local cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops - this recently refurbished space is an ideal retreat. • We had a wonderful time staying with Sherralyn. All the rooms were spotless and incredibly comfortable. Very much a home from home. She cooked us the most amazing breakfast and could not have been more helpful with local recommendations. She was fantastic with the kids and we were particularly impressed how understanding and lovely she was with our dog Ivy. We will definitely be back!!

She was very quick to respond to messages, and offered helpful recommendations in terms of taxis, etc. The place itself was lovely, and Sherralyn & Neil were very welcoming, with cups of tea upon arrival, and a great breakfast in the morning! :) Would definitely recommend

If you wish to go exploring your hosts are very knowledgeable about places to visit in the surrounding area as well as further afield. A hidden gem in a lovely area.

  • Sherralyn is a very thoughtful and caring host. As always she made us feel very welcome with her amazing hospitality. The rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean. Our 'off to go to Uni' daughter was expecting a single bedded room, but was very pleased to have a room with a very comfortable double bed. The breakfast was amazing and took full account of our specialist needs. My husband says it is the best breakfast he ever has. I am veggie and Sherralyn makes a point of cooking me Halloumi, along with eggs from her own free range chickens and home made bread, as well as tomatoes and mushrooms, all cooked perfectly. Tea and coffee are always available. My daughter and I enjoyed home made lemon and ginger tea at breakfast. The house is full of lovely touches, that make you feel at home. The atmosphere, the garden, the animals, the kind hospitality, local knowledge, guidance and suggestions and the beautiful home make it a perfect stay.
