“This is the best place to get an authentic understanding of what it means to be Cajun. After your visit cross the pedestrian bridge to Billelos for lunch. If you;re lucky it will be their fried chicken day.”

“Great specialty bar and great patio service. This is a full service restaurant but is also a great place to enjoy a nice beverage and waste a little time.”

“A nice alternative in the semi-fine dining experience in a small town. Located in nearby Houma, LA.”

“Owned by two chefs who used to run one of the other better restaurants, Cafe Milano, this is a great place mostly for lunch but dinner is a treat too. Just really like the place. Recommend.”

“The Dollar General is 10 minutes back towards town and is like our own Dularge Walmart. It doesn't have everything but it has alot including food items and even cold beer. Everything might not be top shelf but it works for us. For a great local grocery store, we recommend Rouse's on St Charles Street in Houma,”

“Don't be fazed by the long lines on weekend mornings. It's just everyone getting some "famous" donuts. They are melt in your mouth goodness!”

Car Rental
“Car rentals are not really a big deal here as they are in metro areas but we do have them. Also look up Good Earth Transit that runs a bus line throughout the area. Gotta wait at the stops but an easy way to get around. Likely will need to walk to whatever your final destination is however. Car is the way to go here.”

Restaurant
“Such a great local restaurant, family owned, and an old Houma institution. On some nights, live music plays. Go hungry because their lunch specials are just like home cooking. When you order a gumbo, you have to try it with the potato salad. That's how we like it down South! Don't forget to get a slice of one of their homemade pies with "mile-high" meringue. ”
