  • Meg, Mark and their home exude a warmth, comfortability and peculiarity that are easy to love! Their chickens, dogs, and cats made the place feel like a friendly farm, without having all the noises and hassles of a commercial farm. I would highly recommend this place to anyone passing through the area, (especially in the fall when the leaves are changing into bright reds, oranges, and yellows).

    Forest2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay. The room has easy access and felt like home. About as comfortable as you could ever expect and we slept great. Meg and Mark were easy to talk to and seem like awesome people. I would stay again anytime

Both rustic and elegant, the Birch Ledge Guest House offers a cozy place to relax and recharge, whatever the season. The first floor features a spacious living room (with queen sized pull-out-couch), dining area, and small kitchen. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. The second floor is a loft accessible by a spiral staircase and has a comfy queen and two twin sized beds. The guesthouse is surrounded by quiet forest and is an easy 30 minute drive to Portland.
Sari and Saul Lindauer, both retired science teachers, live on the property in a separate home, and have been building and improving upon this guest house for the past 19 years. The Lindauers welcome guests to Birch Ledge as a way to share the beauty of their homestead with others.
Wooded area with friendly and quiet neighbors. We have a 300 foot driveway on a loop road which offers privacy from traffic and out of view from our nearest neighbors. We also have access to miles of hiking and skiing trails which do not allow motorized vehicles.
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Sari's place. It was very clean and looks much better in person although the pictures were already pretty great themselves. We had a good time getting away from the city, visiting Sari's chickens, and also got to enjoy some fresh sap and maple syrup. Thanks for the great stay!

    Vicky2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Sari's guest house could not have been more magical! Sari was a superb host. She and Saul went above and beyond the call of duty. They were able to accommodate us a day early when a severe weather warning affected our travel plans and communicating and problem solving that could not have been easier. The second we stepped on the property we felt right at home. The guest house is the perfect combination of secluded, so you can really feel like you're escaping, but good wifi and cell service made it easy to feel connected if we needed to. A really well stocked kitchen, plenty of room for hanging out and for sleeping, and tons of privacy made this an ideal retreat for a Wintery getaway. Between our three nights at the guest house we had over a foot of snow, but Saul and Sari were so on top of it, at no point did we feel trapped or snowed in - they were so speedy with communicating with us and making sure our car could get out. The cherry on top of it all, was being invited to take part in their annual evergreen spiral tradition on NYE. Such a lovely surprise and it made our stay all the more special. We hope to be back soon!

  • We loved our quick stay here, and hope to come back again soon.

  • Outstanding location and quick responses. Incredible time, the hosts were extremely helpful but at the same time we have plenty of privacy! We will definitely be back to enjoy anotherstay

  • This getaway spot is a true gem. It is cozy, clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting. The thoughtful touches from the owner/host are what makes this place truly amazing. From the fresh eggs, milk, bread, and handmade lobster chocolates to many other thoughtful touches this is a very special place to stay. Thank you for making our getaway and my sisters birthday truly a special one. We will be back and may just make this our yearly Christmas tradition!!

    Ellen2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place and thoughtful gestures of hospitality.

    Sun2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sari's place was better than expected. If you're a couple looking for a quiet place to get off the grid then look no further. If you need to get back on the grid, then Portland is only 40 minutes away. Place is beautiful and immaculate. Sari is a tremendous host with prompt communication. I will be back!!!! Thanks again Sari, Steve

    Steve2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sari and Sahl were phenomenal hosts! You can see and feel all of the hard work and love that went into the guesthouse. It is cozy, warm and charming. You couldn’t ask for a more comfortable spot to unplug and be present. We will absolutely be booking another weekend here!

This cabin is cozy, adorable, and waiting for you! Rock on the porch, have a cook out...gas grill and gas fire pit included in warm weather...or sit inside by the fire and watch the snow in the winter. Always plenty to do year round! Located on a small, dead end dirt road that runs beside Bonny Eagle Pond, approximately 30 minutes from Portland, Biddeford and Saco, and 15 minutes from North Windham. Come stay with us!
The cabin has warm, finished pine floors, walls and ceilings in most rooms with a charming fieldstone chimney in the living room. There is an enclosed porch for rocking, or outdoor furniture for getting some sun, a propane grill for cookouts and a propane fire pit for those nice summer nights. In the winter, there is a cozy propane fireplace inside and a well plowed driveway. It is clean and comfortably furnished, and even includes games, books and puzzles to help you pass the time. The cozy living room has a pretty propane stove connected to a thermostat used to heat the building in cold weather. No need to touch it, it will come on and off like magic if needed! There is an air conditioner to take the edge off those hot summer nights, but it will not be cold. A comfy couch, loveseat and oversized chair with ottoman are great for kicking back and relaxing. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and clothes washer and dryer. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen, and we have a few coffee pods available, along with some tea, sugar and creamer, to get you started with that first cup or two. Pots, pans, toaster, dishes, etc. are also included along with a few paper plates and other paper goods. Grill utensils are also provided. The small dining room is set up for four, but a table leaf is available to expand if if necessary....just ask us to help and if extra chairs are needed. The bedroom has a queen size bed with a cute fence headboard and a rocking chair, as well as plenty of closet and drawer space. It is right off the air conditioned/heated living room, so if you leave the connecting door open the room should stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. While the bathroom is not connected to the bedroom, it is right next door, only a few steps away...and you have the whole cabin to yourself. There are two Smart TVs, one in living room and one in bedroom. There is wifi available, but occasionally signal can be weak...it is strongest in the dining room and kitchen. The interior of the main house is in very good condition with lots of wood and cabin decor. The exterior has a new roof and is being prepped for painting. The new facelift will do wonders! There is a wing which is currently not being rented where another bed, bath and sitting room are being added. There is already another propane stove hooked up and running in one of the new rooms, also on a thermostat, so the whole place nice and warm in the winter. We are continually making improvements!
The cabin is on a quiet dead end dirt road on Bonny Eagle Pond. There are fewer than a dozen houses on the road, and many of them are family. It is generally peaceful and nice for short walks. Portland, Biddeford, and Saco are all approximately 30 minutes away, and North Windham about 15 minutes. Flanagan Farm, a popular wedding destination, is 12 minutes away. Many lakes and beaches are nearby, as well as stores, breweries, and amusement parks. Very centrally located!
  • Unbelievable hospitality, amazing cabin and awesome views of the lake. Will definitely be coming back!

  • Marie’s cabin was great! A friend and I rented it for a relaxing do-nothing weekend in winter, and this property served that purpose perfectly. It was very cozy, especially with the gas stove for heat, and we really enjoyed our stay. Also, Marie was very easy to communicate with when we needed help to adjust the heat. I definitely recommend renting here!

    Michael2020-02-24T00:00:00Z

  • It was absolutely lovely to stay at Creeping Thyme! We desired a relaxing weekend getaway, and that’s exactly what we got! I could not have asked for a more wonderful space and a more considerate host! Thank you for letting us stay in your cabin, Marie! We cannot wait to come again.

    Liana2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy cabin, excellent communication. About 30 minutes outside of Portland.

Our home is a lovely colonial built in 1804, nestled in a quiet country setting. It has spacious rooms, many original features and modern amenities. You can enjoy your breakfast and fresh coffee in the common room outside your room or on the comfy sofa in the enclosed porch! When you are ready to go out, we are an easy distance to all that Maine has to offer (20 minutes to beach, 20 mins to Maine Mall area; 30 mins to Portland). We would be so pleased to have you as our guests.
Description: Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. We have owned the home since 2013 and have put a lot of love (and paint) into the home. We are still working on some parts of the home, so not all rooms in the house are accessible to guests. Room: The Gray Room is up one flight of stairs. The room has one queen bed and a cot is available for a third adult upon request. The room is equipped with a mini-fridge for guest use. The main kitchen of the home is not available for guests at this time. The room is equipped with business class WiFi and a smoke detector. We offer laundry services upon request only, for a $5/load fee. The washer and dryer are not located in a public area. There is a spare set of sheets and towels in the room. So as not to disturb our guests, there will not be a daily cleaning of the room, unless an additional cleaning fee ($10) is paid. We do ask that guests not bring visitors into the home without prior approval from the hosts. The maximum occupancy for this room is three adults (two adults and an infant or child = three guests; two adults and a pet = three guests). The room is adjacent to a common area, our library, where there is a Keurig coffeemaker available 24/7. Bathroom: Continuing down the hallway, you will have access to a shared freshly painted and decorated bathroom, which includes double sinks and a shower with a bathtub. There is no fan installed in the bathroom yet due to the age of the home, but it is coming soon. Meanwhile, we have a dehumidifier available. There is a hair dryer for guest use. History: The home is great for fans of history. We have been told that the home was once a safe stop on the Freedom Trail because of the way the chimneys were painted! We even have a photo of the original occupants of the home (see listing pictures). The home is more than 4,000 square feet, so while we are happy to help you while in the area, you will have plenty of privacy. The home sits on one acre of land, surrounded on two sides by woods (the occasional deer or wild turkey comes to visit!) and on a third side by our neighbors' garden and chickens. Nearby: Our home is in an outstanding location in Maine. We live 20 minutes from the Maine Mall area in South Portland. We live 30-35 minutes from downtown Portland/the Old Port area. We love living here because we can drive to the ocean (Pine Point Beach) in 20 minutes, and pay just $10 to park for the day. Old Orchard Beach is 30-35 minutes away from our home also. We are only 15 minutes away from the 95. We are also less than 20 minutes away from Scarborough. We have many conveniences right here in town, including a Hannaford’s (grocery store) within 5 minutes, a Dunkin’ Donuts, a Dollar General, an Aubuchon’s (hardware store), local breakfast spots, a pizzeria, a fresh local produce market, Big Daddy’s ice cream stand, and our personal favorite, A New Leaf Salon & Spa. We also live just one house up from the river, and there is access to a small white sandy island in the middle of the river off of the bridge. We get all the perks of waterfront property, without paying the high summer rates! The Saco River is fantastic. If you go under the bridge, you will eventually end up in a very large lake that is beautiful. Many people float down the river in inner tubes. Above the bridge, there is less traffic, and it is very scenic. We have seen a blue heron, a bald eagle, and even a beaver building a dam! It’s very peaceful and relaxing. Bring your kayak or your inner tube! We are not able to offer canoe rentals at this time for insurance purposes, unfortunately. However, there is also a great kayak rental location in the marshes of Scarborough where you can spend a day. We are right down the street from a newly renovated golf course with a pub opening soon. Arrival: Upon arrival, we are pleased to offer you a welcome with refreshments and treats in your room refrigerator. Breakfast (included): Our breakfast is vegetarian and vegan friendly, and includes fresh locally made baked goods, bagels, fruits, cereal with non-dairy milk options, tea, coffee, and juice. Children: There are no children currently living in the home, so the home has not been properly child-proofed. However, we are happy to welcome them into the home on a case by case basis. Please just contact us for further information. Infants and children do count as guests, and we ask that you kindly include them in your total number of guests. Pets: We love pets, so they are welcome with prior approval, for an additional $10/night fee. We will edit your reservation to include this fee, which you may then accept prior to arrival. If you find it easier, you may choose to count your pet as your third “person” when booking to have the $10/night fee automatically reflected in your total. Pets must be with their parents at all times and remain in specified areas. We ask that pet parents supervise their pets at all times and clean up after their pets in the designated dog walk area. Pets may not be left alone in the home without their parents. We also ask that your pet be leashed at all times when outside of your room, for safety reasons. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that dogs who are excessive barkers stay at a nearby pet hotel. We must ask pet owners to take responsibility for any damages caused by pets during their stay with us. We do have two dachshunds on staff named Peanut and Sandy. They are not allowed in guest bedroom/bathroom areas, but currently reside in our daughter's upstairs apartment. You may meet them as you arrive or depart, but they are always under supervision. We also have a cat named Cleo who lives in our apartment and is kept away from any guest areas except the porch, where she can occasionally be found sunbathing. If there is any concern about our pets or their access, please feel free to ask. Safe Zone: We welcome people from all continents, cultures, and lifestyles.
Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. Our home sits between the Saco River to the East, and a golf course (open to the public) to the West, all within a short walk. Although there is some traffic on our road, there are many other trails and roads that will provide a relaxing and scenic walk.
  • Wonderful one night stay. Welcoming host, facilities to make coffee , comfy bed and included delicious breakfast. Couldn't ask for more .

    Pascale2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Best airbnb I've ever had the pleasure of staying in! Thanks for making our daughter's wedding weekend easier and relaxing by having an awesome place so close to her venue. Keep up the good work.

    Joy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Gary’s home is amazing - we couldn’t have asked for anything more and it completely exceeded our expectations, and (unfortunately for future hosts) set the bar really, really high for Airbnb experiences! Sandra and Gary were kind, hospitable and helpful. Their home was clean and well decorated. There is a coffee station easily accessible and complete with everything you could ask for, and snacks and a stocked mini fridge in the bedroom. We were in heaven. They also serve breakfast in the morning. There were more than enough vegan options including dairy-free coffee creamer which left us feeling so spoiled and well taken care of. If you are considering staying here, please do. We will definitely be back!

  • Beautiful home great place to stay and so many wonderful extra touches. Really dog friendly also!!

    Reba2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the wonderful place. The older house is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and there are so many small things to make the stay for the guests nicer. We really enjoyed it.

    Fabian2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the River Inn when we attended a wedding, just up the street at the Barn at Flanagan Farm. The River Inn was very clean, conveniently located, a great value, and there were so many thoughtful touches that made our stay extra comfortable, from the sensor lights on the way to the bathroom, to the stocked snack and drink supply in our room.

    Megan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Gary have a huge house, because the other room was vacant that night, we enjoyed the entire second floor alone, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very rich, I don't know how to list them all, thanks to Sandra and Gary for giving us a warm home on our journey.

    Hai2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The River Inn is a wonderful place to stay! It is well situated for discovering the Portland area, but more importantly, the lovely hosts Sandra and Gary make sure that you'll have not only all you need, but all you could possibly wish for! There even was a delicious breakfast in the morning - a truly perfect stay!

One bedroom apartment on horse/sheep farm in Hollis, Maine. View of farm from living room, bedroom on second floor up very steep farm stairs. One Queen comfy bed. There is a day bed in the living room. 21 miles from Portland and Kennebunkport.
The apartment is attached between the barn and my house with it's own entrance through a shed in the barn. The shed is a shed with barn stuff and it's messy, this is a farm and you do have to walk through part of the barn to get to the apartment, if walking through an old barn with old stuff freaks you out enough to take photos and send them to airbnb complaining about the barn then this is not the place for you. This section of the farm was built in 1795, you will enter a very old shed with a few stairs to the apartment. There are a few cracks in the corner of a wall and a small crack on the ceiling. Even when fixed the house shifts and this happens. It's entirely possible, but not probable, that a small spider may be hanging out on in a corner on the ceiling, if this happens and it is freaking you out please call me and I will come re-home it. It's an old farm house, but a charming apartment to put your feet up in. There are very steep stairs going to the bedroom on the second floor. If you have mobility problems it would be a challenge. There is a full kitchen and large bath and living room on the first floor. There is a pack and play in the upstairs closet if you need it for your young child.
Lily Brook Farm is in the small hamlet of Clarks Mills which is in Hollis Center. There is a diner about 1.5 miles down the road, and a small store where supplies can be had. There is a large grocery store 4 miles away. Hollis Center has a full service spa ( The New Leaf Salon & Spa) next to the Mom and Pop store (1.5 miles down the road)...you can get a massage or a mani-pedi if you are so inclined. This is very new and very exciting to have in Hollis Center!! Hollis is a half hour drive East to Portland and a half hour drive South to Kennebunkport, two very cool towns.
  • Nina's farm was a magical stay. Me and my boyfriend fell in love with all the farm animals (especially the sweet black cat.) The apartment itself was homey and a warm oasis in the middle of the Maine winter. Pia was incredibly helpful showing us around the farm and so kind. This was my favorite airbnb experience and I will certainly be returning soon

    Jackie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic slice of farm heaven. Cozy spot on a beautiful Farm. If entering through the active barn this is not the spot for you. If you don't like narrow stairs this spot is not for you. If you like cozy spaces and warm blankets the spot is for you.

    Randell2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great, cozy place to stay on a lovely old Maine farm.

    Gemma2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, peaceful area with beautiful trails stretching behind the house. Nina was a gracious host and an excellent communicator throughout our booking and check-in process. A great place for a quiet stay in between days of sightseeing, and there is plenty to see on the farm itself between the animals and the trails. I will be back!

    Claude2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nina was a wonderful host and very accommodating to last minute arrival changes. The place is spacious and well kept. Great tour of the farm!

    Reilly2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such an awesome find. The house had so much personality and really just felt like a home which I appreciate very much. My daughter loved the animals and had a great time. Plus Nina was so great and really understanding because my daughter was very much underfoot in her excitement to see everything. Nina just took it in stride! Can't wait to go again.

    Jenny2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Place is exactly as described. Nina was easy to contact and very easy going. Although on a farm, the apartment is clean, quiet and doesn’t smell! Would recommend and would stay again!

    Ted2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nina is a fantastic host, very accommodating to her guests, and strives to make their stay comfortable and memorable. She is always available via cell phone should any questions/concerns arise. I will definitely stay at Lily Brook Farm again! Thank you, Nina!!

The absolute best location is it’s outstanding asset and what we appreciated the most. We are planning on returning as soon as we can.

  • Amazing spot steps from the beach with wonder views of the dunes, sea and sunrise. Bigger than expected and really airy we had a fantastic stay - the sound of the surf really does lull you to sleep yet the bright lights of the town are just a walk away! David was a great host and great at answering our questions - thank you!

Moment's Peace Farm is a hobby farm with a restored 19th Century barn and extensive fields and woods. We raise free-range eggs, vegetables, and rescue horses. At the Guest House, you are free to come and go as you please, to enjoy the outdoors, theater, museums, and fine dining.
The Guest House is detached from the main farm house and affords you complete privacy while still being in a farm setting. You have your own private deck and view as well as living room, kitchen, bedroom, and 1-1/2 baths. The area is an excellent jumping-off place for an unlimited number of activities, from walking and hiking to cycling and canoeing to beach sunning and bathing to visiting all of the shops, museums, antique dealers, restaurants and farm stands in Portland, the Kennebunks, and surrounding areas like Freeport and the White Mountains. We're even an easy train ride from Boston as well as Brunswick. Come and go as you please, or just stay home and relax in your own little getaway. There are relaxing activities in the Guest House, too, including puzzles, books, and games. Or just relax in one of the chaise lounges in the living room or on the back deck.
There are some nice local walks and hikes as well as cycling routes and paddling opportunities. You're also fifteen minutes from Gorham, 20 minutes from Scarborough, 30 minutes from Portland, 30 minutes from Kennebunk, 30 minutes from the Sebago Lakes region, 45 minutes from Freeport, an hour from the White Mountains, two hours to Boston, and three hours to Acadia.
  • Great Place to stay. I love horse.

  • Absolutely fantastic farm cottage with spectacularly beautiful surroundings. Joy and Peter made sure everything was perfect for our stay, and there wasn't a single thing we needed that wasn't provided. We enjoyed getting fresh eggs from the chickens in the mornings, picking fresh strawberries, lettuces, tomatoes, and more from the beautiful & abundant garden. The views from the cottage are like a postcard, and Joy and Peter made our stay comfortable, relaxing and fun. We stayed in the cottage for several months during both very hot and some chilly days and we were always comfortable. Enjoy your cocktails on the back deck while watching the rescue horses graze. You might even see some wild turkeys in the afternoons. If you want a peaceful place to stay near Portland, just like the name implies, A Moment's Peace Farm would be very hard to beat. Will definitely stay here again.

    Mary2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. If you love animals and the peacefulness of scenery, it’s perfect. Wonderful for a family and was the perfect distance from the wedding we were attending. Would definitely stay here again!!

  • Great spot. Easy check in.

  • This place is amazing! The farm is much larger than we expected, and it is just a beautiful, peaceful piece of land, in a very quiet area with miles and miles of farmland, and forrest. The garden is huge, and you are free to pick and use whatever you like, which is a very generous offer. you are also able to enjoy daily fresh eggs from their chickens. The horses are beautiful. We didn't spend nearly enough time relaxing and enjoying the farm because we were out sightseeing and exploring Maine! I'd recommend trying to spend more time relaxing at this awesome property. It was around a 35-40 minute drive to Portland, and Kennebunkport. Not too far away, but maybe too far to stop back at home during the day. For that reason, we pretty much left in the morning and came back after dinner. If you have the chance, maybe plan to hangout there, and cook at the cottage. there's a full kitchen, and you can pick all of your own veggies!

    Brett2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Moment's Peace Farm. My wife and I spent 5 nights there with our three boys (7, 5, and 5 months). The location was beautiful and serene; the boys loved checking for eggs in the chicken coop every day;and we made ample use of the pool, too. I'd highly recommend Joy and Peter's place to someone looking for a Maine getaway. They provided a binder with tons of local recommendations, and they were very quick to respond any time we had a question. Such a great stay!

Conveniently located close to the beach with easy access, including use of the hot tub and pool next door at the Crest Motel. A short drive from Portland, just 20 minutes to downtown!
  • This place was a perfect match for us and the location is absolutely prime. Joe was VERY flexible with our checkout time, and super responsive to questions. This room has two bedrooms both with TVs, a small but well stocked bathroom with shower and sink, a kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, stove, table with chairs, and all the required dishes, utensils and pots required for cooking and dining. Guests are also invited to use the grill and picnic table out back. Since it is connected with the motel next door, we got to use the motel’s pool, hot tub, and cafe tables. Free popcorn and coffee are available almost all the time at the Crest motel office. Bath towels and washcloths were provided but bring your own beach towels or buy some in one of the 50 nearby beach shops. There is a fun family vibe running through the place and we were so glad to learn that this is a family owned business. We will certainly be back!

  • This was a great find as far as Airbnb places go. Joe, the host, is very helpful and easy to get a hold of if I needed anything. The apartment is simple but comfortable. The guest has control of the heat. I stayed during winter months. I never had to turn the heat higher than 68 degrees. The place is very well insulated. The water pressure is very good and stays hot as long as I needed it to. It has a full kitchen as well. The area can get a little noisy from time to time but not often and not for long. I loved my stay here. Thank you Joe!

    Carly2019-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's place is a great place to stay when in Old Orchard Beach. Location is great and very easy to navigate to and from. I would recommend and I'd visit again.

  • Joes place was an off season beach rental, so everything was very quiet. Nice and clean, small kitchenette and table. Plenty of room. Double beds in two private bedrooms, plus one had a single bunk. No sitting area, but both bedrooms have a television and a side chair. Very close to the beach and all the attractions. Train whistle at night is cool. Not to loud. I think kids would love this spot. Joe is very polite and helpful. Quick to respond to all my messages.

  • Very spacious. We had a family of 10 and felt like there was plenty of room, including a loft area. The BBQ was a big plus for cooking outside. Beautiful views off of the pond, including lovely sunsets. Peaceful surroundings. The use of kayaks and canoe was fun. Great location - 30-45 minutes from Sebago Lake State Park and Goose Rock beach. The hosts family lives close by and is very responsive. Overall, fantastic spot for a summer vacation with extended family.

  • We had a fantastic family vacation. My granddaughters loved their "kids zone' in the loft and they spent hours in the water. The house is spacious and well supplied. The location was ideal - within a half hour of Portland, Old Orchard Beach and a good-sized grocery store. The service and communication with Janet was first rate. Thank you!

    Emma2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • A good, comfortable, clean home. Being so close to OOB and Portland was fantastic (approx 30-40mins away) and the access to the pond with a canoe and kayaks is a major bonus as well. With a mix of ages ranging from 2-53 it was the perfect location for swimming and relaxation for everyone.

    Billy2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, beautiful summer sunsets. Great family time with loads of room. Only a short ride (within 30 minutes) to the city. You’ll love Janet as a host!

    Lisa2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • My family was super pleased with the space inside and outside the house. Great zero depth section of the lake where littles can toddle and the water was clean enough that the fussy teens were constantly in the water as well! Great place to enjoy the outdoors and make memories!

    Grace2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We were a large group ranging in age from 82 to 8. We had a great time and the house was well stocked. Janet was very quick to respond to any question and provided a long list of recommendations on things to do, but the house is so nice you might not want to leave! Highly recommend!

  • What can I say about our stay at Norm's Place. It was nothing but a slice of heaven! From the moment your feet his the property, you can note how meticulously maintained the entire grounds are by its owners. From the largest of details including the perfect setting on a picturesque lake to the lovingly-decorated and fastidiously clean interior, you immediately understand what a labor of love goes into maintaining such a perfect property. Norm's response time was immediate and we had every amenity available to us: including a double-sided waffle maker, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, hair dryer and tea-kettle. My son was even excited to take a bath in the impeccably cleaned tub after a fun day of catching 3 fish. The gravel-lined dirt roads were perfect for providing privacy from the main roads and safety to our children playing ball. The close-by supermarket and pharmacy (less than 5 minute drive away) was just perfect for last minute meal prep and the running track at the high-school up the street was enjoyed by my husband. If you're up for the worlds best lobster roll, enjoy a 20 minute ride to Patch's where you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality and value! Truly the best one around! Our only disappointment was that we only booked one night. Our children have begged us to make this an annual tradition, and we are all on board with this request. We look forward to booking an extended stay next year and swimming in the surprisingly warm (this time of year) and clean lake.

    Mary2019-09-27T00:00:00Z

  • My boyfriend and I spent four cozy nights at Nick’s place. It was rainy and grey for a majority of our trip, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the beautiful view, the warm campfire, and the snazzy outdoor shower! The king bed was extremely comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the pellet stove kept us toasty. Neither of us had ever used a composting toilet, and by the end of our trip we were talking about wanting one in the future. We hated leaving, and would love to go back!

  • The house is super cozy and has a full kitchen and microwave. We only stayed the night but we plan on coming back as the house is right by a river and Nicholas and Abigail provide a canoe for daytime adventures. Thanks so much, this place is an awesome little getaway!

    LeighAnn2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts hospitality and kindness was next level—it far exceeded the hospitality I’ve ever experienced, even at fancy resorts. I was looking for a secluded place but not totally in the middle of no where to stay to be “one with nature” but also be able to explore Portland. This was perfect in every way. From the little home, you can’t see any other properties which is so amazing. Just beautiful trees and amenities to enjoy like a fire pit, indoor fire stove thingy (forgive me idk the name), and the water is right down the hill (the private dock with the canoes were our favorite touch). It’s very private but the hosts live about 500 ft away and were always quick to respond if we had any questions (like restaurant reqs). TBH, I have hardly ever left a review for anything in my life but our stay was so great and the hosts were so gracious that I had no choice. I literally left our stay saying “wow I guess humans don’t suck” after Nick dropped everything to help us with car trouble. Thank you so much!

    Caroline2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The space was the perfect combination of a camp and a modern living space. The hosts were responsive when needed and it truly felt like our own private space!

  • Cozy spot in the woods very private

    Katie2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot that is super comfortable and well done with some rustic touches. We really enjoyed the provided fishing poles and cooking supplies. The toilet took a little to get used to, but it was otherwise a seamless stay! Thank you so much!

Fun little apartment right across the street from the beach with 1 bedroom with a full size bed and a futon. I allow up to 4 adults in this unit but please be warned that 4 adults inside this unit will feel pretty cramped. It’s more ideally set up for 2 people. The major draw here is the unit is less than 100yds to the beach and just a few hundred yards to the center of town. Walk anywhere in just minutes. Comes with one free parking spot. Building is old but cute and tidy. Very affordable.
  • Joey’s place was lovely. It was in a great location right across the road from the beach, and a 5-10 minute walk to the pier and shopping, nightlife, etc. Joey was so great with communication right from the start & was incredibly kind and accommodating. The unit itself is small but cute and has everything you would need for your stay. There is train tracks right behind and there’s a train that goes through early in the AM and startled us the first night, but we slept with the windows shut the next evening and barely heard it. We absolutely will be back next year.

    Dylan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little apartment. Very close to the beach, a little further from the main street (so less noisy). Owner and manager very kind.

    Laurence2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Joey's place is exactly as stated. It is used from the beach. You just cross the street Andy

    Liza2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and convenient studio. 3 minutes walking from the beach. Kitchen, bathroom, shower all is equipped and good to go. The only interesting surprise can be a railway right out of the window. Sometimes trains shakes the whole apartment and ride at night. Which was kinda fun, but I wouldn't stay here long-term because of this. Overall experience was nice.

    Mikhail2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Beach Breeze! The apartment was very clean and wasn’t missing anything. The only thing is that there is a train that passes by right behind the building which woke us up a few times during the night but the location so close to the beach really makes up for it. We would definitely stay there again!

Located aprox.30 minutes to Portland, Old Orchard, and Kennebunkport, and minutes away from local watering holes. This is off grid rustic camping with "no" amenities with electricity. Good for easy going campers. This site has a small fire pit and is better suited for smaller tents but there is room for a bigger tents in the field in front of your site. A small solar camp shower is provided, a shovel, drinking water and a rustic #2 shed. Table, chairs, and the umbrella are included. Cheers!
Filled with lots of wildlife and close to many lakes, local rivers and spectacular star gazing. Close to hiking and biking trails with many options for Canoeing and kayaking. Local breweries like Long Bow are a great attraction tooth's area.
Close to local swimming holes, hiking trails, lakes, and local rivers and only 30 minutes to Portland, Old Orchard and Kennebunkport. local breweries, golf and more.
  • Tent site as describe, no courant water but drinkable water provided ! There is a grill on the fire pit so you can cook your diner ! The site is near a gas station and a dunkin donut. Very clean place and very nice host, thank you Stacey !

  • Everything was perfect, a great spot to camp.

    Jesús2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic campsite, with fire ring, camp shower, chairs and a small table. The campsite is nestled in a little recess in the corner of the yard and gives you tons of privacy. Water is available and convenient, and we had access to plenty of firewood. There is amazing stargazing just feet from the tent area! Stacey was extremely helpful, very friendly, and super nice. She even gave us suggestions for things to check out on our travels. If you’re interested in camping this is a GREAT value super close to Portland. We had a fantastic experience!

Studio room on the corner of our house. Located in downtown Biddeford close to I-95. Thoughtfully decorated with a queen-size bed, smart T.V (Hulu, YouTube, etc), dresser as well as a "kitchenette" area with a mini-fridge, microwave, and small table with 2 chairs. There is a private full bathroom with stall size shower. We are centrally located and often used as a convenient stop on the way to Acadia National Park.
Historic brick home, eclectically decorated, recently refinished floors, Kuerig coffee maker
This is a historic brick home located approximately 2 blocks up from Biddeford's Main St. Walking distance from a plethora of restaurants and shops. Easy drive to the Old Port and downtown Kennebunkport or a great stop on your way further up the coast.
  • Tommy and Autumn were very quick to respond, their place was very clean and conveniently located and they left helpful hints about things to do in the area and were respectful of our privacy. The whole process was very smooth and was the perfect relaxing weekend; would highly recommend!

  • Great price and great location. Waking distance to everything in Biddeford. Would definitely stay again.

    Steel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication with the hosts. They were both very helpful and understanding when I had an issue with my debit card. The apartment was clean and was ideal for a couple or for one guest. Separate entrance was good. The shower was a little small but was fine since we didn’t stay in much. It was a little noisy at night and we heard a fire truck in the morning and a dogs barking, so if you’re looking for 100% quietness this might not be the spot for you, but it didn’t bother us much. Great host and good location to get to Portland OOB and Kennebunk. Thanks for hosting us!

    Shayla2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Space was very cute and comfortable. Checking in and out was very easy and the room was sparkling clean. Definitely would stay again if we’re in the area!

  • Tommy and Autumn’s place was perfect for my visit to Biddeford! Good location downtown, clean, tea and coffee, great communication from the hosts.

    Joel2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Was visiting Biddeford for a short period and Autumn and Tommy’s place supplemented my experience of such a serene environment! I loved the corner room and how all the windows let in light. Great tea and coffee selection as well. There were dogs below that would get a bit noisy at night, but nothing too crazy. Overall great space and stay in a great area!

License#STHR0011152019 Spacious 1 bedroom w/living room, eat-in kitchen and bath in ideal Portland peninsula location, walk to all. situated on the edge of the west end and downtown. 2 blocks from the ocean. Walk everywhere in this central, historic, perfect location. Easy street parking. Simple furnishings, older retro flair. 2nd floor of 3 unit Victorian on dead end, quiet street. Queen bed and futon sleeps up to four. There is no parking but often spaces are available on this dead end street
Please read carefully: This is a well-loved apartment in an 1875 building full of sunlight, with Hardwood floors and tall ceilings, you'll be in a classic Portland "triple decker" Victorian building surrounded by the stunning architecture of portland's historic west end. You can walk anywhere in town within minutes. Basic kitchen and bathroom essentials provided. One queen memory foam bed and one fouton can sleep up to four. Large living space-this is an older apartment with older kitchen and bath-it is simple-not luxurious or modern-but it is clean and in the best location. Please appreciate the value of my space-that it is affordable, clean and large, with a retro flare and in a very desirable neighborhood, walking distance to everything on the peninsula. however, be advised, there is no tv and towels do not match and I have never been to ikea. This is the 2nd floor of a 3 unit and the second floor walk-up has steep steps, consider this if you have mobility issues. One Window a/c unit in bedroom, radiator heat (steam heat=white noise which apparently bothers some) I live below and tenants live on the third floor-you will hear occasional sounds throughout the building from residents and even though it is a quiet street you may still hear people on the street (it is an apartment in a city-after all). There is no parking for air bnb-even though there is a driveway-the spaces belong to tenants...guests parking in the driveway for a few minutes to unload luggage is fine..guests have usually been able to park easily right on my street at no cost. Street parking is free on most streets in the neighborhood-Just read the signs as there are usually 2 nights a month overnight parking is not allowed on certain streets for cleaning. Guests arriving late in the evening may have trouble finding street parking. There is also a $5 daily parking lot on commercial street next to Irving gas station about a 3 minute walk. This is a quiet building and no partying is allowed. The apartment is located on a dead end street off park street on the right called Stetson ct-it is a block away from the landmark historic Victorian mansion on park street and danforth. Additionally, early check-in or late check-out can most likely be accommodated with a $20 fee. That said anyone staying beyond the 11 am check out for whatever circumstances will receive a $20 payment request.. Thanks
Portland's west end is such an amazing neighborhood, wandering through these tree lined streets filled with incredible architecture is one of my favorite pastimes. Smile at everyone out for a stroll and enjoy the beauty and character surrounding you. Rosemont market, oh no cafe, and speckled axe coffee are all staples of the west end. Commercial street is two blocks away and uptown or downtown are both 10 minute walks.
  • Sharon's place is in the best location in Portland! The house itself is incredibly charming and clean with thoughtful touches such as toiletries and dishware that plenty of other properties omit. If I ever find myself back in Portland I will be sure to plan it around when this property is available. An absolute fantastic value and superior experience! Thank you so much, Sharon!

  • Marta and Erwin are simply awesome! One of the best stays we’ve ever had so far! They’re super responsive and were providing a lot of options to overcome some unexpected weather related hiccups which they of course didn’t have any control on! Everything worked out perfectly and they truly made us felt at home, and our dog simple loved them! Hats off to them for being such outstanding hosts! Thanks soo much guys!

    Karen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Marta and Erwin have a lovely and extremely clean space. They checked in to make sure we had all our needs taken care of without being invasive. The location is very pretty and quiet, and the property is very well taken care of. Stay with them!

  • Such a beautiful place to stay. Marta and Erwin were great, and super flexible with our stay!

  • This lovely apartment features more “extras” than one can imagine—an experience full of bonuses! Not only is the suite of rooms new, tasteful, sparkling clean and very spacious, but there are TWO bathrooms (one with two showers, including a tub-shower), a lovely screened in porch, another porch with a large porch swing, views out to peaceful woods, a comfortable living room with reclinable couch and chair, and in and on. The kitchen is fully appointed with everything an excellent cook would need to live there for weeks or months. There are elegant candles and special lighting including many dimmer switches throughout, a computer on the desk in the office space, lots of menus for local restaurants, a lock box for keeping valuables, and a dog bed and fun new toy left for my dog. I was very pleasantly surprised by the obvious care and thoughtfulness put into the decorating and furnishing of this apartment, and hope to return whenever I am able. Thank you to my gracious hosts!

  • Stayed here for a weekend in Maine , nice private place. Appreciated the extra bathroom amenities ! They have a roku for netflix and stuff which was appreciated. Everything you need for a weekend away. Cute private porch too.

  • Wow. Just...wow. Me and my mother needed an escape and booked one night, very last minute (like NYE “night” at 3am for 3pm check-in). They were accommodating and responded by 5 am. Had no problem with the same day reservation. From there everything was on point. - communication excellent - responses virtually instant - place was way better than expected (so much so that we decided to stay TWO extra nights) - accommodating (had no problem with the last minute extension) - PET FRIENDLY! This is amazing. It’s such a nice place and being able to have my pets there with us during a difficult time was priceless - everything was so nice it made you WANT to take care of it like your own place I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Marta, Erwin and Georgia’s place. 🐾

This large comfy, furnished room is the perfect place to rest up after a day of touring around or enjoying one of Maine’s many beaches or parks. You will have everything you need to refresh and recharge. Located in a quiet neighborhood free of traffic and highway noise, you can enjoy all the bustling coast has to offer but be away from the noise to relax for the evening. (Sorry...heated in-ground swimming pool closed for season.) the large room has a queen bed plus a single pull out sofa bed.
We are about 6-7 miles to the beautiful beach at Pine Point and just over 8 miles to Old Orchard Beach. You can enjoy some of the greatest beaches in the northeast! A few of our favorite places to go to are “Scarborough Grounds” (great coffee and not a big chain), “O’Reilly’s Cure”, and “Dunstan Tap and Table” for great places to eat/drink. We are also just 10 miles to Portland's "Old Port" and all that this city within a City has to offer! Great Music, food, and craft beers for starters!

Our very special cottage is comfortable and inviting. We offer all lake activities boating kayaking, paddle boarding fishing from our dock. Just 20 miles from the ocean and downtown Portland with the best seafood you will ever find. Come be charmed by our cottage and all Maine has to offer.
Our cottage is 50ft off a spring fed lake. Down a private gravel road. We share the lake with many other cottages , but it is quite and serene . We have a dock and a swim raft along with 2 kayaks, one paddle boat, small fishing boat And one canoe. Fishing license can be bought at local hardware store 1 mile away. We also have life jackets , tubes and toys for the kids. At night sit around our fire pit and tell ghost story's . If your an early riser come have your coffee on the porch and catch one of our spectacular sun rises. The cottage is fully equipped with all that you will need, sheets and bedding, we do not supply towels. We can accommodate those who will be flying in with towels. We have Internet, TV , Netflix , A full kitchen with gas stove, microwave, refrigerator. Downstairs the bedroom has a queen bed, with a very comfortable memory foam mattress. Upstairs, there is a queen bed and two twin beds. Two couches in the down stairs living area. If you need a larger home we have a 4 bedroom, two houses down on the lake. We also have a new upscale 3+ bedroom, 3 bathroom right on the lake
This cottage has a very special history. It belonged to my aunt who was a prisoner of war in World War Two . After she returned home she wrote to my uncle that this cabin was the only place on earth she felt at peace. If you come you will feel it yourself. We have taken the cottage and completely remodeled it, but have kept it’s charm and history. Come and enjoy.

We took the kayaks out, made dinner in the kitchen, and spent a lot of time on the pitch and by the fire. This was a cozy experience and I would definitely visit again.

The Captain's Quarters is a master suite located in a nice quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of Scarborough. It is close to the beaches, lighthouses and downtown Portland. This suite is set up like a small studio with its own door, a master bedroom, private bathroom and cozy dining area. We are Maine natives and live in the house. We love the area we live in and like to make ourselves available for advice on all the great sights and food the Portland area has to offer.
Life in Maine has always been linked to the water, whether it be Maine's plentiful lakes or the vast Atlantic Ocean. We wanted to create a space that captured this nautical theme.
We live in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood. The area is great for walking, running and biking and we encourage you to get our and explore the neighborhood.
  • Immaculate space! Very quiet with thoughtful amenities!

  • This little 1 bedroom is perfect for a couple or couple with baby (as we are). Katie had the pack n play set up for us and also a high chair which saved us from carrying extra items into the house. The place is so cozy, super clean and just right for a great sleep after a long travel day/week. Katie was so friendly and had lots of tips and info to share about the area. She even saved us with a battery jump when our car died!! The home is on a quiet street in a tucked away neighborhood, but within 15-20 minutes of all nearby attractions/towns. The entrance is through their main home, so you may get to say hi to one of her kids and smell yummy cooking! But otherwise it's private and lovely.

  • This place is absolutely ADORABLE!! My wife and I came for a babymoon and we could not have been more pleased. The place is filled with thoughtful touches, tremendous hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere. When we were out out on the town, we admittedly wanted to come back to our AirBnb! It's in a very convenient location, as it is just minutes away from downtown Portland! We are also just a short drive to the LL Bean store, which we went to twice! On a side note, my wife needed another pillow because she is is 22 weeks pregnant. Katherine went OUT OF HER WAY to make sure that my wife had another pillow. We just appreciate the hospitality and truly felt at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to experience true bliss in New England.

  • Clean and very nice apartment. The host helped me during my check in and the place was very neat. Highly recommended if you need a clean nice place to stay and visiting Portland

    Arun2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • It is clean and comfortable. The bed is extremely soft. If you need a soft bed, this will be perfect for you. They had freshly made banana bread out on the counter which was lovely.

  • Quaint cute space, perfect for a weekend reunion for best friends! Peter and Mim very very responsive and the space was super clean!

    Meaghan2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Peter & Mim’s place was great. It has a very cozy feel and was located among trees. There were fresh breakfast items left for us, which was a nice gesture. I would stay there again.

    Kamelianna12019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Peter and Mim are responsive and kind. There was milk and eggs in the fridge and homemade spice cake. Sebago Lake, biking, walking trails, you name it and it is close by. Only 30 minutes to Portland. Don't hesitate!

    Naomi2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, right on the nature reserve, with a full kitchen, living area, & deck, in an attached guest wing of the main house. Perfect for those looking to disconnect and spend some time in nature. Wish we'd had more time to explore. Even their neighbors were nice; we stumbled onto someone's land while trying to find a way out of the reserve (tbf we were slightly off-trail). The lady out in the garden was nothing but kind, even mildly amused, to see two random people sheepishly emerging from the woods onto her property. I'm sure there are actual trails you can walk on, we just walked straight into the woods from our hosts' backyard and found our way around the marshes & into the reserve. Found some weird quarry-looking place that has clearly been dug up, weren't sure what that was about, but we had to leave for a wedding before we could explore further. Saw some awesome bird action; wild turkeys, vultures, jays. Do a tick check after you leave though, we had a ton of them on us. Thanks to Peter & Mim for being such gracious hosts. Also, Mim is an incredible baker, if you get a chance to try some of her baked goods, DO IT <3

Gas Fireplace in the all season porch. Less than 1/2 mile from the beach. Less that 20 Minutes from Portland Maine. Less than 2 hours to Boston, Mass
  • Sam's house is incredible. Super comfy, tons of space, full kitchen, a very cool porch, and only a 2 hour drive from Boston. My 3 friends and I stayed here to be close to Portland which is only 20 minutes away.

    Maxwell2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's house accommodated my family quite well for 2 nights. It was well equipped for cooking, supplied nice relaxing features like big comfy chairs and big screen TV with DVD's, and good open space to gather. Unlike other previous guests, we did not find the house to be 'sparking clean'. There was a greasy stove top, dirty counter tops, dust everywhere, and in need of more attention in the bathroom with the floor and the outside of the toilet. Hopefully, it was just a one-time situation because I hope to stay there again.

    Dee2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We visited off season. Lovely, spacious place. Had everything we needed easily accessible for a comfortable stay. And it was really neat walking the neighborhood. Loved being able to park in the garage and that there was parking for 2 cars in the driveway and, if sideways at the end, a third.

    Jeri2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great space with lots of room! We spent a long weekend in this house and had more than enough space for four. We loved the variety of games and played a different one each night :)

    Julia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sams place is exceptionally spacious. He has all the amenities that a family with young kids need. He is a great communicator. Overall exceptional experience.

  • House was bigger than expected and very clean. Sam had a lot of board games and movies inside the house. It was about 20 minutes from Portland and less than 2 hours to Boston. The town is very sleepy and quiet. Sam answered quickly and was very easy to communicate with. I would definitely book here again.

A mix of cozy with modern touches, this just-renovated space is what you've been searching for! Come couples and small families, it's much more spacious than a hotel room and has far more character. We are located near quaint Deering Center, right outside the hustle and bustle of the city; a short walk to UNE graduate campus. We are on the bus line with close walking and biking paths. We've set this space up for you! So, whatever reason brings you to Portland, be our guests!
The entire apartment is set up for guest to be travel-friendly and convenient. Washer and dryer outside the unit, on the same floor.
  • Clean with plenty of amenities. Easy 10 minute drive to Old Port. Would certainly stay again.

  • We had a wonderful trip to Portland and made even better by this wonderful Air BnB! It’s in a great location, about 10 minutes to downtown Portland, very clean, and many amenities including lots of blankets and toiletries. The apartment is great for a couple, friends, or family. It’s very nice to have a full kitchen as well! There was coffee for the Kureig machine, water bottles in the fridge and even candies around the apartment! Thank you for a great trip-would definitely stay here again :)

    Julia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so much more than we expected! They had every little detail covered! We had privacy the whole time and were able to do a load of laundry before we headed back home. A 10$ Uber ride away from Old Port and the downtown area of Portland, and they were quick to answer any questions we had. Thanks guys for an amazing stay!

Our home is a lovely colonial built in 1804, nestled in a quiet country setting. It has spacious rooms, many original features and modern amenities. You can enjoy your breakfast and coffee in the common area, or in the enclosed porch! When you are ready to go out, we are an easy distance to all that Maine has to offer (20 minutes to a beach, Maine Mall area; Portland--voted 2018 Restaurant City of the Year in Bon Appetit Magazine!). We would be so pleased to share our love for Maine with you.
The Space Description: Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. We have owned the home since 2013 and have put a lot of love (and paint) into the home. We are still working on some parts of the home, so not all rooms in the house are accessible to guests. Room: The Blue Room is up one flight of stairs. The room is down the hall from a common area, where a coffee bar will be available each morning. Bathroom: Continuing down the hallway, you will have access to a shared, freshly painted bathroom, which includes double sinks and a shower with a bathtub. We have many conveniences right here in town, including a Hannaford’s within 5 minutes, a Dunkin’ Donuts, a Dollar General, an Aubuchon’s, local breakfast spots, a pizzeria, a fresh local produce market, Big Daddy’s ice cream stand, and our personal favorite, A New Leaf Salon & Spa. We are right down the street from a newly renovated golf course with a pub open to the public. Arrival: Upon arrival, we are pleased to offer you a quick tour and refreshments in your room. Breakfast (included): Our breakfast is vegetarian and vegan friendly, and includes fresh baked goods, bagels or english muffins, fruit, cereal with non-dairy milk options, tea, coffee, and juice. Please let us know if you have a dietary preference. We have two dachshunds on staff named Peanut and Sandy. They live with our daughter in her upstairs apartment but have no access to any guest rooms or baths. They can occasionally be seen and introduced upon arrival or departure, but are always kept under supervision. We also have a cat named Cleo, who resides in our apartment downstairs. She is not allowed in any guest areas, except the porch occasionally where she loves to sunbathe. If you have any concerns or questions about any of our pets, please let us know. Safe Zone: We welcome people from all continents, cultures, and lifestyles
  • Sandra and Gary’s place is incredibly nice, and very true to Maine character. They are very thoughtful in the touches they added and are very accommodating, not to mention their incredible hospitality. This place won’t dissapoint!

  • We were in Maine to attend a wedding and rather fortuitously chanced upon Sandra and Gary's place. Sandra and Gary are great hosts and run an impeccable operation in their beautiful farmhouse. We were traveling with an infant and they went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable.

  • We LOVED our stay here! So so friendly and warm ! We even got a sweet little welcome gift and the bedroom was so cozy and even has an AC which came in handy in the heat! The bathroom was shared but very spacious and had soaps and towels at the ready! Breakfast was a nice touch too. Gary even got up early with us to get us sorted with breakfast before we left. Will stay again and HIGHLY recommend!!

Large, entire three-bedroom apartment ( 1500 sq ft!) occupying the first and second floor of an old New England house, built 1901. The USM campus is a one minute drive or a brief stroll away, as is the Gorham town center. The building owner (me) lives in the other separate 3rd floor apartment in the building. Need anything??...I'll be right down to assist! Sleeping arrangements are three queen beds. Wifi in all rooms. Washer/dryer. Off street parking for four cars.
There is one 65" 4K TV in the living room that is WiFi enabled/Roku. Just put in your own login for Netflix/Amazon/etc or plug in USB2 compatible drive. There is currently a small saltwater aquarium in the dining room, so two clown fish are your roommates! The kitchen has a coffee maker and a Keurig, along with most common needed cooking essentials.
  • Matthew was responsive and very accommodating. My friends and I had a very late check in that he was able to accommodate easily. The place was as described — clean, spacious, and with a couple of clown fish! Thanks again Matthew!

The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. Somehow we missed that there was a nice back deck and we spent quite a bit of time out there in the late afternoon.

  • I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this stay! I had to come to Portland for both business and a social visit and Megumi's place gave me exactly what I needed! First of all, the space is very comfortable - it's a full 1 bedroom in-law apartment behind the garage. It's spacious with a full kitchen and bath as well as cable TV! The entrance is private with parking right outside the door and lovely woods on 3 sides. It is so peacefully quiet! Check in/out could not have been easier and communication was prompt and friendly. The space was impeccably clean and the bed was comfortable! The location is about 20 minutes from Portland and worth the short drive when you consider how reasonably priced Megumi's place is compared to anything within or just outside the city. I come to Portland at least a few times a year and will definitely stay here again and again!
