United States Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Hickory Corners

This private home sits directly across from Prairieville Park Boat Launch on the north side of Gull Lake, and is located 15 miles from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and is 3 miles north of Richland.
This 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home has two bedrooms with Queen beds and one bedroom with a Queen bed and an extra long twin bed. There is a full size futon on the main floor and a roll away bed that can be placed in any room. The main floor living/dining area is spacious, with rich dark wood floors. The kitchen includes a refrigerator with an ice maker, a dishwasher, and a 5 burner gas stove. There is a coffee pot, crock pot, toaster, tea pot, blender, mixer, new Calphalon cookware, a gas grill outside, and place settings for 10. The second floor laundry room is also available for use. All furnishings in the house are brand new (2017). The enclosed porch is lined with windows that overlook the boat launch, and there is a quaint little pizza restaurant next door.
Gilmore Car Museum is 1.2 miles north of us. There are several golf courses and Gull Lake Marine for water craft rentals on the south side of the lake.
  • This house was excellent for the amount of people we had, 9 altogether! Christine is a great host and communication was excellent! The house was very clean and felt like home with a great location! I highly recommend staying here!!

    ryan2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Christine's place exceeded expectations. She has tastefully renovated this house and made it feel like a real home. The pictures do not do the space justice. The bedrooms are sunnier and more spacious. Although there was no pack and play or crib for our toddler, it was easy to pull the mattress off the twin frame in the middle bedroom and put it on the floor of the bigger bedroom. Being next door to NEDs was really convenient. It's a busy place and the location is very close to the road so the surroundings are not quiet for those looking for a more secluded spot. However, it was perfect for us. We didn't have a boat, but enjoyed walking across the street to walk out on the dock and use the little slide for play time. We especially enjoyed using the enclosed front porch in the evenings. The front yard is small, but fenced off, so a nice patch of grass for our daughter to run around a bit. The inclusion of beach towels was a great touch that we took advantage of liberally. We had a great stay and appreciate Christine's availability to answer questions.

  • Excellent location, beautiful accommodations.... perfect for our family of six!

  • Such fabulous hosts, great house, great place, fun restaurant /bar next door and fantastic location. We'll be making this an annual stop for us.

  • If you're wanting a place right by the water, this place is perfect. The house is clean and updated, and Christine has it packed with all The necessities. The restaurant next door has great pizza, and a great selection of craft beers. The boat launch is directly across the street, and the rental comes with a pass so you don't have to pay. I highly recommend this place.

    Dan2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Christine's place at the North end of Gull Lake was absolutely awesome. The house was new and updated & clean (nothing like some musty old lake cabin) with all the amenities of home and the lake right across the street. Has absolutely everything you could want (except maybe a bit more 2nd floor water pressure). The house is decorated very nicely and both Christine & Jeff were a pleasure to deal with. We had only 4 people, but with 3 nice bedrooms upstairs and a futon downstairs, you could comfortably sleep 8+ Was there for a wedding, but if you were a boater would be perfect as it is directly across from the town public boat ramp (+ Neds restaurant & bar is right next door = 2 thumbs up on pizza, burgers, & salads). We also spent a day about a mile up the road at the Gilmore Car Museum. I am not a car nut, but the museum was flat out spectacular. If you ARE a car buff or know someone who is, visiting this museum could be a day or two by itself. The day we were there they had a big car show of Chrysler/Dodge muscle cars on the lawn, in addition to the regular museum exhibits. On the whole, a 5 star experience start to finish!

  • This house is beautiful and has a great view of the lake. We made great memories this weekend. This is a special place to stay. Christine made us feel right at home and was happy to help with anything we needed.

Gull Lake vacation rental. Newly renovated, darling 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. Incredible views! Includes dock use.
  • The living space was very efficient for a party of three. Stayed prior to the installation of air conditioning -- in process. Experienced electrical problems with non-working plugs in kitchen and living room, but repairs made promptly. Enjoyed the dock with our boat and fishing. Neighbors were very friendly.

Welcome to The Lake House! Let your stress melt away in our charming beach inspired lake house! Vaulted ceilings and white shiplap create an open concept living space. Separate sleeping spaces make our home ideal for a family or a group looking for the perfect Michigan getaway! One king bed plus three twin beds & a crib fitted with fresh linens will ensure a good night's sleep. The boat launch is less than a minute away and a dock is provided to fish off of or to sit and enjoy the sunrise.
Fine Lake living! We fell in love with our Lake House the moment we walked in the door 4 years ago; I know you will feel the same! This space has been reserved for use by my family, and now we are ready to share it with others! The joy we find in spending time near the water is unmatched. From the vaulted ceilings to the fresh decor inspired by and gathered from our travels, we love the quiet space we own on the lake. Our beachfront is located behind a small island that protects us from the wind and waves and also is a protected nesting ground to much wildlife! You often see the cranes flying in, swans swimming by, and red-winged black birds singing a song as the sun comes up. While this leaves our swimming area small, we find it to be worth it for the wildlife and beauty. If you stand on the end of the dock and turn to your 10 o'clock, there is a sandy beach area we ride over to and will spend the morning or afternoon at, swimming or hanging out with the other people who may also be there. Many people on the lake call this area the "sandbar" or "the beach". Our property includes parking for 2-3 cars, lake frontage, dock, fire pit, sand box, small pool for the children, assorted life vests, some fishing poles, beach umbrella(s), and limited toiletries. If you don't need much, it's everything you need for a night or weekend away. If you have a special request, please let us know and we can try and accommodate. Fine Lake is well-known for its EXCELLENT FISHING! It is kept well stocked with perch, bass, bluegill and even walleye! Fish right from the dock or bring your own boat, as there is a public launch right next door. Much of the lake has a sandy bottom, so if you don't like where you go to swim, just boat a little further and you are bound to find an area you enjoy. Nearby attractions include the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary, Fort Custer State Park, Gilmore Car Museum, Galesburg antique stores and only 25 minutes from Downtown Kalamazoo & Downtown Battle Creek. The Lake House is a short drive to Gull Lake where you can also use the boat launch and spend a day on that lake. So much to choose from!
Fine Lake is a friendly lake with many long time residents. Your neighbors at The Lake House are quiet and keep to themselves but are happy to chat if you happen to catch them outside walking around.
  • Great place from great people. It's a little slice of heaven.

  • Jen and Ian were fantastic hosts. Very accommodating, friendly and provided any help needed or questions on the cottage. The unit was clean and fully furnished with everything you need. The king size bed was comfortable. We loved hanging outside by the water. Friendly neighbors too. We plan to stay their again..

  • JEN was so accommodating and helpful. The cottage is lively and the view is beautiful. My family, with teenagers, used the owners' kayaks and found the awesome beach that they suggested. We also ate S'Mores by the lake. There are no stores/restaurants for miles. Be prepared with water, food, snacks, ..

    Kimberley2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a week at the cottage and had such a relaxing and wonderful time! The sandy beach was a hit with our son along with all the toys for him. We enjoyed fires, grilling, watching the sunrise, kayaking and generally relaxing. Jen and Ian were very quick in responding and we found everything just as it was described. A lovely home and a lovely lake. Thank you for having us!

    dale2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for a nice weekend at the lake. All the amenities you'd ever need with classic cottage charm. The boat is an absolute game-changer as not many houses include an option to rent one. Highly recommend this place!

  • We just spent five days at this wonderful lakefront home. There were 6 adults and two children, ages 6 and 2. The home is very well appointed and comfortable, the upper deck is a wonderful place for kid play, card playing and eating on the table, and relaxing after a day on the water. The whole family enjoyed the swing and the grassy area down to the water. The hosts have thought of everything to make the stay a great one!

    Sally2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, well-appointed family friendly home directly on Crooked Lake. The host was in constant communication prior to (and even during) our trip and did everything in his power to make us feel welcome.

  • If you're looking for an AirBnB in the Kalamazoo area this is the one you want! Not far from the downtown area, located on a beautiful little lake, and the perfect distance if you're planning to visit the Gilmore Car Museum. The house is very nice, with the quaint getaway vibe that makes a good lake house. Plenty of room for up to six people, and a great deck to sit outside and enjoy the view from. Logan did an excellent job of communicating with us prior to our stay and checking in to make sure we found the place alright and that everything was going well. (It was!) We had a wonderful time staying here, and I absolutely will book this place again the next time I'm visiting the area.

  • Family friendly, relaxing place to stay. Great accommodations if you have little kids and very relaxing for adults. Lake is clean great for swimming and fishing. The house is cozy, clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful time.

  • Hosts were very accommodating! Brought extra table for our kids to eat at and extra toys. The house was nice with a great view of the lake. Plenty of beds and extra cozy blankets. The only tip I'd give is if staying in winter park near top of driveway bc we had trouble getting out when it snowed since the driveway is slightly downhill. The kids had fun sledding in the yard and walking on the frozen lake. we hope to have the chance to rent this house again in warmer weather so we can enjoy the lake!

    Jenni2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • A Perfect experience. The house was everything it was advertised to be and more!!! The upfront information from Logan and Heidi was extremely helpful and covered all our questions. This was a fantastic deal and everyone had there own space. This stay went flawless from first contact to departure. I recommend this to anyone and everyone!

    Richard2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • There is so much to say about this place, but it can all be summed up in one word. Peaceful. The location is perfect- little house on the lake with that small town feeling. Just down the road is a cute coffee shop and a diner where everyone is friendly. The house has been beautifully remodeled and it is totally updated with all new gadgets that make life easier. Everything about this place is user friendly and the interior looks like it was decorated by someone from HGTV. Logan and Heidi were immediately in touch and remained in touch throughout our stay. They were great hosts that accommodate our every need. Most importantly- their set up is completely kid friendly. They pulled out a play pen and a kids table for our daughter (which made life so much easier). They even had a bottle of wine waiting for us upon our arrival. What a wonderful little vacation. We will definitely be seeking this place out next time we are in town to see family. I can't give this Bnb enough praise.

  • Amazing home just like in pictures. Great attention to detail in decorating the home as well as making the whole experience very easy and seamless for us as tenants. Backyard opening up to the lake was an incredible experience.

  • HI! We stayed with Edward and his family for three days while participating in The Kalamazoo Art Fair. Their home is in a beautiful area not far from Kalamazoo. We were there on business for this trip so did not get to visit too much or use the beautiful lake. It is so much nicer than staying at a hotel. The family were gracious hosts and if we had more time would have enjoyed their company. Very comfortable room and private basement area. We would defiantly stay with The Foley's again.

    Christine2012-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Colleen were outstanding hosts. They welcomed us warmly into their home and constantly went the extra mile to ensure we had a comfortable stay, even graciously allowing us to use their kayaks to explore beautiful Gull Lake. Our stay was wonderful and I cannot recommend them enough to everyone.

    Jason2015-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • We just returned after spending a week at this location. It was a perfect fit for what we needed which was a clean, comfortable place to sleep and to take a shower. We were working at a local Girl Scout Camp and were looking for a place nearby to sleep. The Foley's were excellent hosts. Very responsive and friendly. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. The room is in the basement of the home. The bathroom is outside the room but right next door. You enter the home through a door into the garage. After passing through the garage you enter the basement through another door. The room is located in the corner of the basement. The wifi worked very well and came in very handy during our evenings as the Camp had poor cell reception. The accommodations are very basic but exactly what we needed. The home was quiet and it was in a quiet neighborhood with a great potential for walks in the morning and evening. It is not directly on the lake but you can see the lake over the house below it and the Foley's do have lakefront access on a very beautiful lake. I would recommend this location to anyone needing a good, safe, clean, quiet place to sleep.

  • I was only passing through for a night but wish I had more time at Edwards place. It's right on the water and they offered the use of their kayaks! Edward and his wife were great hosts. The room was nice and private andvery clean. Would definately go back if I was ever in town...

    Nick2014-05-05T00:00:00Z

  • Lora and Scott thoughtfully organize their beautiful, welcoming, quiet and cozy home. The fire pit, lake view and natural decor are so relaxing. We enjoyed dinner on the deck and a soak in the hot tub after toasting smores in the fire pit. We had fun cooking using the full kitchen with mixer and juicer, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the porch. The furniture is comfortable and well placed in this cozy 3 floor cabin. Our hosts are so sweet and even left fresh flowers and wine for our anniversary. We had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again!

  • There is a reason why this house has consistent top reviews. The photos just don't manage to show how awesome Jean and Gabe are as hosts, how the house is incredibly equipped and its great vibe, which makes you feel at home, as if we were hanging out in a friend's house. The details of having things in the fridge, a s'mores basket, a waffle machine, extra coal for the grill... and so many other little things that made our arrival easy and relaxed were an unexpected plus. We were 4 adults and 4 kids (toddlers and 5 year olds) and everyone had an amazing time. From kayaks to boat rides to bonfires to chilled bbqs in the deck! Our week in this lake house will be remembered and missed. Jean and Gabe were by far the most attentive hosts we haver met, bending backward to make our stay great, even on an incredibly short notice. After a terrible experience in Traverse City ((URL HIDDEN) we couldn't be happier to meet Jean and Gabe and stay in this lovely home, which makes us leave Michigan in an amazing mood! Thank you again for making this possible!

    Ariana2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jean and Gabe were great. Communication as we approached our stay was excellent -- culminating with a several page PDF describing the property and a couple of videos on how to use their fishing boat. They provided contact info and welcomed us to contact them at any time during our stay. Gabe responded in less than an hour to a couple of emails I sent while there. The property (house, deck, land) was larger and even nicer than we expected. In addition to amenities listed at the time of our stay, they also included a charcoal grill (with charcoal), access to their fishing boat and life preservers. The neighbors we met were welcoming and warm. The lake has a marina with several pontoon boats available for rent. While the lake doesn't have any public beaches, there are a couple of sunken islands where you can bring your boat ashore and walk around. We traveled with three kids (ages 4, 6 and 8) and they enjoyed the stay as well.

  • Wonderful, inviting and perfectly appointed home on a beautiful lake. We are return guests and plan to head back ASAP. Everything was great from start to finish!

    Molly2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The PDF attachment Jean and Gabe provided with the house rules and things to do around the community is one of the most robust and comprehensive I have seen. The lake and house are fabulous for family as well as the access to the kayaks and fishing boat!

    Nikki2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jean and Gabe left for us a wonderful welcome basket filled with all the makings of S'mores (new to us!) pancakes and popcorn. The setting is tranquil with beautiful views of the lake. A perfect place for my family and me to prepare for our daughters wedding. The house is lovely and spacious, very clean and the best equipped b n b we've ever stayed in. We were not short of anything including the use of the kayaked and boat. It is conveniently located near restaurants and stores. A truly wonderful stay.

    Lynne2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jean and Gabe's cottage is fantastic! This was our second time staying here and our family loves it. It is much nicer than a standard cottage and Pine Lake is beautiful. It is the perfect place for a family-friendly vacation. Jean and Gabe are wonderful hosts -- they respond quickly, check in but do not hover or overwhelm, and they go above and beyond in making sure that their guests have a great stay. This is truly a great find and you won't be disappointed!

    Kristi2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for sharing your lake house with us. As we were leaving we all agreed that this was the best rental house we've ever stayed at, and one of the few that we would return to! We had absolutely everything we needed in the house, and more. The craft beer, s'more basket and waffle mix were all great touches and enjoyed by our whole group. The outdoor porch and deck areas accentuated the already beautiful property. We loved using the kayaks (almost daily) to explore the lake and there was plenty of room on the dock for our rental pontoon boat. We caught tons of fish right off the dock and even used the fishing boat a couple of times. Thank you so much, we hope to visit again!

    Steve2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing time at Gabe & Jean's Pine Lake retreat! I grew up coming to this lake and my husband and I have been vacationing there almost every year for the past 10 years. This home was the most lovely and well-appointed we have ever stayed in. From the provided kayaks and fishing boat, to all of the top-of-the-line kitchen items one could possibly want, we felt so at home and were able to relax more than ever before (all of the amazingly comfy furniture and multi-level deck and screened in porch definitely helped). We did not have one single complaint, and would recommend this home to anyone looking for a lakeside getaway. It has everything you need and the hosts are extremely communicative and so very helpful! We are already planning our next visit -- I hope we don't have to wait a year!!

  • Very quite relaxing location, Janet answered our inquiry immediately and also checked in via message. Lake was a beautiful and peaceful retreat from modern life

    Audrey2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the peacefulness and the view of being on the water. It was perfect for having our grandchildren visit in the afternoon for a swim and kayaking. The simple and comfortable retro feel of the cottage was reminiscent of summers in our past. Janet was a great host and got back to us almost immediately with our minor questions. We plan to return to the Fishemans Cottage!

    Narda2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We recently stayed at Janet's cabin for 1 night last weekend. Janet was wonderful to communicate from before the transaction up until the stay. Since there was no one staying before or after us she accommodated an early check-in and late check-out, and allowed our small dog to stay as well. We were meeting up with my parents for the day as we live out of state, and it was a nice place to spend the day together. The cottage was clean and properly represented in pictures. Its a nice, no frills cottage, and literally right on the lake. It's very close to the small town that had a couple places to eat at within driving distance. Because we were there in the fall, we did not take advantage of any of the water sports nearby, but we did enjoy the beautiful fall foliage surrounding the lake. Cable & wifi would be a nice perk, but my college football team was playing on regular TV that day so we did not miss the cable. If we were to come back in warmer weather, I would not have even missed it. Would definitely stay at this cabin and work with Janet again. Maybe sometime next summer when the weather gets nice again!

    Andrea2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was perfect for a weekend with our friends. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and the lake provided a great scene to do some relaxing.

    Louis2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Beautiful on the water.

    Barry2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful experience for our first time using AirBnB. Janet responded very quickly each and every time we communicated, and sought to make our renting experience as smooth as she could. We never met Janet or her representative in person, but felt welcomed every step of the way. The cottage is exactly what Janet said it was, basic. The real charm and daily pleasure are found once you step out of the living room: the lake and large lot. The water is so clean and warm, and the yard is a joy to spend the day in. The neighbors on either side were extremely friendly and welcoming; we had met them both within 90 minutes of arriving. The row boat was in daily use, but be sure to bring lifejackets to throw in the boat as we didn't see any available. The town was easily accessible and friendly. If you're interested in renting a pontoon, they are located directly across the lake and charge $100 for the day as of our time there. We believe the kayaks were in the neighborhood of $40 for the day. All in all, we were very pleased with our time at Fisherman's Cottage, and would consider another visit should the opportunity arise.

    Paul2015-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Janet was very accommodating. The place is clean and situated right on the lake. Unfortunately it rained during our stay, so we couldn't take the rowboat out.

  • This place was perfect and had plenty of space for or group. Larry and Karen were so kind and accommodating and were great with communicating with us. It was about a quick 15 minute drive to Kalamazoo from the house and we got there using the Lyft app, we had a hard time finding drivers with Uber but Lyft was no problem so have it downloaded if you want to use a ride service app. If you don't want to watch tv or movies I would recommend bringing with a small portable speaker. We will be back again!

    Karrie2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay - friendly welcome from Larry and Karen. Great house with lots of character and feel part of the family. Larry was very helpful with directions and things to do in the area. Appreciate their hospitality. Highly recommended

  • Great stay at the Kiser home. They took care of us and were very understanding and flexible about arrival and check-out times.

  • Larry is very quick with communication! Everything went as planned.

    Katherine2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Larry and Karen were incredible hosts. Larry stayed up until 2am when I arrived, so he could welcome us properly. He gave us a tour of the living space as well. Both of them were available at all times via phone or text if we had any concerns, and they were very prompt with coming up with a solution to any problems we had. The living space was adorable and felt quite like home to me and my friend. They had all of the amenities you could think of. I would recommend this space to anyone looking for a longer term place to stay. I will definitely be staying here if I'm ever in Kalamazoo again!

    Tahuriah2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place for a relatively large group (four bedrooms!), with a short drive to Kalamazoo. Larry and Karen were great communicators and easy to coordinate with. I would stay here again!

    Trent2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • It is a lovely place to stay. Upon arrival Karen gave us a whole tour and also made sure we knew of any safety procedures that would be necessary in an emergency. It was so conveniently located for us and Larry and Karen were so kind an welcoming! The house had lots of room and the bed was amazingly comfortable as well as the semi-private entrance allowed for easy early mornings. We will definitely try to stay there again next year!

    Jacquie2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific place. Semi-private entrance meant we didn't disturb Larry and Karen. The lower level is basically a suite. We would definitely do it again.

    Kristina2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house is fantastic! We have stayed in three AirBnB properties and this one takes the cake. The pictures do not accurately describe the beauty of the house and the amount of space there is. There were plenty of the towels and bedding for everyone. The kitchen was fully outfitted with everything one would need for family meals. The cleaning supplies were easy to find. The owners were quick to reply and very flexible. The view from every floor was breathtaking. One word kept coming up during the 10 days we were there: peaceful.

    Seth 2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great 4 bedroom lake house! Thanks Rogelio!

    Matthew2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Rogelio and the house were absolutely terrific. It met our every need and more. The location is peaceful, the view is beautiful and the property is spacious and extremely well kept. Rogelio is so welcoming, responsive, kind, and very easy to work with. It was a true pleasure to have him as our host. Wish we could have stayed at this gem of a home for longer but we are so happy to have the time we did. Experience a close encounter with Long Lake. Our Poplars Cottage actually sits on the water's edge, providing a unique lake-living experience. This cottage is part of our historic 1891 Ackers Point Resort, and Guests have access to all amenities.
The Poplars may be our most popular cottage here at Ackers Point Resort. This two bedroom (one queen and two twin beds), one bath cottage is in a prime location: literally right on the lake and near the beach. The spacious screened-in porch sits over the water and allows Guests a unique lake living experience. The deck is shaded by mature trees and steps down to a small, private boat dock. Today's building codes don't allow building this near the shoreline, but this gem is part of our historic 1891 Resort. This cottage rents by the week during the summer, and by the night (two night minimum) during the spring and fall. Our Guests prefer to bring their own bedding and towels. We are happy to supply these for an extra $30/bed fee. We do allow pets for an additional fee. Please contact us first to see if your pet falls under our Pet Guidelines. All our cottages have kitchens equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and toaster, and include basic cooking and dining supplies. This unit has shared access to the Resort grounds with twelve other unique cottages, and depending on the time of year, the Resort can be a bustling, friendly, summer community, or a more quiet retreat (spring and fall). About Ackers Point Resort Ackers Point Resort is a family-owned, family-run business that provides weekly cottage rentals. We are open from April to October. The Resort was built along the CKS (Chicago-Kalamazoo-Saginaw) railroad and opened in 1891 as a destination vacation spot, welcoming travelers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts. The railroad no longer exists but we are still here! Generations of the same families have been returning year after year to vacation here, and that is our most cherished accomplishment. We truly treasure our guests and the summer community they help us build. With nearly six acres of land situated on a spectacular point in beautiful, quiet, Long Lake, there's plenty of natural beauty to enjoy and fantastic water views from nearly every spot on the Resort. We have 750 feet of lake frontage, so there is plenty of space for our guests to roam, swim, and play. Each of our thirteen cottages has two bedrooms, at least one full bath, and a kitchen equipped with cooking and dining essentials. Every cottage has its own private outdoor space, (open deck, screened-in porch, or both). Our long-time guests have their favorites and many enjoy the nostalgia of sharing childhood memories of their cottage and Resort with their children.
Long Lake is a clear, spring-fed lake, 146 acres in size, and 48 feet deep. Because it is nestled in the valley of an old river bed, the waters are extraordinarily calm. There is a small public launch near Ackers Point, but there is relatively little boat traffic due to the proximity of other, high-traffic lakes. This lake is an all sports lake. Residents and Resort guests alike enjoy the fishing (bass, pike, bluegill, perch, crappie), kayaking, canoeing, sailing, swimming, boating, waterskiing, etc. The residents truly enjoy their community and the tranquility of their lake. Long Lake is located very close to the towns of Hastings and Delton, making grocery and supply runs very convenient for visitors. Hastings offers a charming downtown with shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, a brewery and a number of events throughout the summer. There are also several golf courses, parks, and local attractions such as the Gilmore Car Museum for guests to explore. For those wanting to venture into “big cities”, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids are approximately 30 and 45 minutes away.

Our large bedroom has a queen bed as well as a twin bed (a pack-n-play also available for infants). My home is on a peaceful and quiet 66 acre farm (crops only- no farm animals) on a country road (gravel).
This bedroom can accommodate 3 people and an infant. It is located on the opposite end of my home which provides significant privacy.
My home is located just 4.5 miles from the Kellogg Manor House and the Kellogg Biological Station, 4 miles from the Gull Lake Bible Conference and 2.4 miles from the Gilmore Car Museum.
  • My mother and I were in the area for a wedding. Anne was very accommodating--being flexible with our arrival time and helping us find everything. If you are in her neck of the wood (and have a car), stay with Anne.

    Hailey2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in Anne's home! She was a gracious host, very helpful and kind. Our room was immaculate and was perfect for our small family. We wished we would have had more time to enjoy the peace and quite, but we had a busy weekend and were not at the house very much. We would recommend Anne's home in a heartbeat and stay again ourselves!

  • Anne and Bob have a beautiful home in the country, just as advertised. Everything was clean and comfortable; I felt right at home. The private room was quite spacious and quiet for sound sleeping. Definitely a wonderful place to stay!

    Frances2014-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The drive to Anne's home is almost as beautiful as her home itself. It's a scenic trip through secluded roads and tree canopies until you get to her house. Anne and her husband Bob were wonderful, attentive hosts. Even though we were late, she was still gracious and flexible, and even made us some delicious muffins! I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

  • My stay at the Bordens could not have been better. They were very kind and gracious. Their country home was clean, neat, comfortable and peaceful. Most fully equipped kitchen I've seen. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet you both and your son. We will definitely see if your suite is available the next time I'm at the CCCA Museum on business. • Two-thumbs up for Jim and Ann's beautiful private suite on Gull Lake! It looks just like the pictures, including fresh flowers on the table, plus.... coffee maker prepared to go, and breakfast goodies on the counter and in the fridge. We needed a place to stay near the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station for events we'd be attending there in the morning and the evening. This suite was only minutes away, great location! We even fit in a pontoon ride around the lake in-between since the Gull Lake Marina is just down the road. We also enjoyed the private deck with a view of the lake where we were able to enjoy our coffee while listening the chorus of bird songs in the trees at dawn and squeeze in a cat-nap on the comfortable lounge chaise chairs after our pontoon ride in the mid afternoon. The private entrance was nice, too, since we were back and forth to the suite several times during the day. Thank you again, Jim and Ann, for a lovely place to stay on a beautiful lake. Linda and John

  • Stay June20-24, 2017 Jim & Ann were great host! Needed a place to stay fairly last minute for a wedding we attended and stumbled upon Jim & Ann's home. First time using Airbnb and we have no complaints about doing so, great 1st time experience! The suite that is offered has everything you will need, including extra little perks that one wouldn't expect! Property is right on the lake which is so serene and tranquil-did a little meditating! The private deck is a great bonus to have with the suite! Private entrance was also a plus, as we were in and out at various times throughout the day. The suite is nicely appointed -Ann if you decorated you have a great niche and should be an interior decorator : ) The suite Is just so cute! Jim and Ann have a lovely home, on a lovely property, if we are ever in the area again would definitely give this property another stay. Thank you again for having us! We thoroughly enjoyed! • Delightful! Very comfortable, clean, nicely decorated and appointed with everything you need. Unfortunately we had no time to explore beautiful Gull Lake, enjoy the private deck, or visit with owners. We were in town for a family wedding and arrived late in the evening and left by 7:00 a.m. to head home. Our first Airbnb stay and the only surprise for us, was there was no door at the top of stairs to close off unit completely. Would definitely enjoy staying here longer in the future, and highly recommend.

The listing was very accurately described, we stayed in the Library room which had its own bathroom as well as a mini fridge and microwave (which we didn't end up using as we were only there one night but would be nice I'm sure for a longer stay) the property and area were very nice and serene. The Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is only a short distance (about 10 minutes) which we enjoyed.

Their home was a needed, quiet escape and we were able to enjoy our time simply sitting on the balcony in the rocking chairs. John was a great host, even providing a campfire, complete with s'mores! Overall, these are great hosts, have a clean and quiet home and we wouldn't hesitate to return again! Thank you John and Julie!

  • My friend and I had such a lovely time in John and Julie's home. A beautiful country setting, near Gull Lake. We had fun enjoying the paddle boat on the pond and sipping coffee on the deck. Our breakfasts were incredible and thoughtfully prepared. I would definitely return here and tell others about it!!

    Dana2014-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I visited John and Julie’s B&B two weeks after we got married since we weren’t able to go on a honeymoon. It was the perfect little getaway. John and Julie were incredibly hospitable to both of us, and even upgraded our room to the Vineyard Suite! Our stay was beautiful, restful, and saturated in joy. The acres they maintain took care of us and we look forward to going back. Our intent was to slow down and spend quality time together, and we found BMI Bed & Breakfast to provide that space and so much more.

  • Our hosts were welcoming and helpful to us, as we needed overnight accommodations while travelling. The surroundings were very peaceful and the breakfast was delightful.

  • John & Julie were very welcoming. Our stay with them was comfortable and easy. We came and went as we pleased and enjoyed their company. Prior to our arrival they asked if we had any dietary restrictions and made a perfect & delicious breakfast for us. Thank you!

  • I truly enjoyed staying with Julie, John and their family. I was warmly welcomed and felt right at home. They encouraged me to enjoy the grounds, amenities, and other activities around the area - and just unwind - which I did! The Pondview Room was lovely and cozy. Their property was beautiful. Their morning breakfast was awesome - with fresh home-roasted coffee, as well as plenty of locally-grown fruit. We even picked blueberries one evening, which showed up in the pancakes the next morning. This was a very special stay.

Come out to the cottage and enjoy the lake which is always fresh and sometimes frozen. Relax within the peaceful setting, take the kayak out for a ride, fish off the dock or just kick up your feet and relax.
Neighbors are both great! The raft out in the lake is shared with all the neighbors.
  • Absolutely wonderful cabin on the lake. All accommodations where awesome. Neighbors where extreamly generous and friendly and was in a beautiful and quiet location 50 feet from the lake. The host Katy was very accommodating to me and my son and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great time! Even supplied the S'mores! I would absolutely choose this location to stay again.

Take a long walk and explore the 9 acres of timeless, mature cherry and maple trees. Go a little deeper down the trail and stand with the majestic red pines and the ageless beauty of a mature forest. Roast marshmallows and drink your favorite beverage at one of two outdoor fire pits. Sit out on the raised deck and enjoy the deer and wild turkey that graze during the crisp morning hours or scan the stars late into the night.

  • Wonderful proximity to the lake which is ample size for boating. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, pots and pans etc. While there is no air conditioning it was certainly comfortable with the sliders and windows open. (I was worried but it was fine, even upstairs)

  • Jenna is a communicative host. However this home is not on the lake. It shares a private beach with homes that are on the lake across the street and down the hill about four houses. If you are looking for a house on the lake with the ability to walk out the backyard into the water, this isn't it.

  • A great place to spend a weekend. Very close to metro Detroit. An amazing house that feels brand new and lacks nothing. Very spacey enough to accommodate a large group. Great views of the lake. A huge house with a huge deck around the house and a large backyard were the kids and adults can play.

  • Kathy's house is nothing short of perfect. I spent the weekend using the mansion of a house as a destination for my brothers bachelor party and it did not disappoint. A beautiful view, plenty of space, and one of the best hosts I've encountered with Airbnb. The pictures for this rental do not do it justice. Inside and out, this home is filled with antiques and beautiful arrangements that will be treasured by all of the future guests. The house is located at the head of the lake, and overlooks all of the adjacent properties. 100% would recommend. Kathy was marvelous. She helped out with food and beverage preparation for the party, and was flexible with all of our needs for a long weekend out. Very responsive, and an absolute pleasure to work with!
