Just booked in Hat Creek

Peaceful cozy cottage with fishing and access to Fall and Tule Rivers, launch included. On private 375 acre family cattle ranch. We raise cows, pigs, ducks, and chickens. Winter snow, Spring animal babies every place you look, summer swimming, fishing, boating fire pit, star gazing, Fall Harvest, fresh fruits and vegetables to share, we process our gardens by canning, preserving, and cook cook cook. If your a foodie or interested in homesteading this is the place for you. Birdwatching A+
Spring is beautiful on the ranch. Baby animals are running in the fields, they are swimming in the river. The grass is green the sun is warm. Fishing is great. We have one of the best fishing locations on the river. Its a great time to get out on our kayaks or canoe to take pictures of the wildlife or just explore. You can paddle to three lakes and a state park from our location. We have eagles and hawks hunting right along the river. It is truly magnificent The cottage has two yards. One facing Mt. Lassen with a picnic table. The other is facing Mt. Shasta and the river. The cottage has its own parking spot by the orchard. We rent out 1, 2 person canoe and 2, 1 person kayaks. The river is amazing, great for fishing, swimming or nature watching. You will see otters, bald eagles, golden eagles, geese, deer, muskrat, cranes, ducks, turtles, fish, more species of birds than I can count and much more. It is breathtaking this year! Come and experience our farm to table life style and relax in natures beauty.
We have a great location for people looking to explore Lassen or Mt Shasta. We have lava caves and 5 waterfalls in our area. Burney Falls is the most famous. If you own a boat we have a launch and from the Ranch you can access Big Lake, Eastman Lake, Tulie River, and The Fall River. We have Kayaks for rent to explore or fish from.
  • Natalie met us in front when we pulled in. She is a great host and very chill and friendly. The property views were great and we even got to wonder threw there farm and check out all the animals our Dog Blue loved it. They had friendly dogs that visited and could secure gated cabin yard if we wanted to keep our dog corralled with or with out Congo. Love the location cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed and some. Natalie sells the following items. Vegies from here garden ,meats , jams ,juices ,sauces , and other canned goodies. We bought some to go . Her canned pickles were awesome ! We would definitely go back .

  • Natalie made us feel very welcome. We arrived a little later than expected to a warm cozy cottage that smelt wonderful-she had lit a scented candle for us. There were plenty of little welcoming touches throughout the cottage: fresh cut flowers (lilac and bleeding hearts), anything you could need in the kitchen was available to you, and the bed was cozy. We were enamored with the cottages rustic charm. We got to walk parts of the farm in the morning, with the resident farm dog Hank. We enjoyed visiting the chickens and cows, and spotting some migratory birds. Overall, it was a perfect addition to our week long California road trip.

  • Mott's cottage has an excellent location on the river with beautiful views of My. Shasta. There are two fenced patio areas & a great breeze in the afternoon as well as a cherry tree with delicious fruit (we were there late June). The location makes the stay. The actual accommodations are rustic or what would be expected for a rustic stay. Very comfortable with everything one needs but of a rustic quality, not fancy. There are kayaks available for a nice paddle on the river. Overall, great stay in a location we wanted but where there are few options.

  • Fantastic country getaway! This cozy guest house made for a great anniversary weekend for my wife and me. The views of Lassen and Shasta could not be beat. We arrived late in the evening to a clean cottage, made use of the kitchen for breakfasts and dinners, and enjoyed short drives to the nearby parks. The hosts were very respectful of space and privacy. We would definitely stay with them again.

    Andrew2014-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie was very welcoming it is secluded from town which is great cause you are also just minutes from town the stay was great and the animals were wonderful thank you again natalie!

  • Natalie is an excellent host. Her description of the cottage is spot on. We highly recommend renting the kayaks for a day, the Fall River is gorgeous. Crumbs restaurant in Macarthur is a first class excellent place to eat.

  • This place is honestly so much better than I imagined it to be. My wife and I stopped by here on our honeymoon road trip and we both we will be back most definitely for longer! They have meats raised in their farm, fresh chicken eggs and Natalie will build a fire for you too so that you can enjoy better her beautiful backyard with amazing views of green fields, rivers, mountains and animals. This place is a dream and u wish I could give it 100 stars!!! Thank you for everything!

  • We had a lovely stay at Natalie's. We thought we were in Montana! Beautiful wide-open plains surrounded by mountains. The sunsets were truly amazing. Beautiful colors in the sky, wildlife, and fisherman. I only feel guilty that I wasn't fishing! We are so happy that we stayed out on the ranch, rather than in Burley Falls, which was our original plan. We would love to go back.

Great views, close to hiking, restaurants, and lots of other outdoor activities! With your private walk down to Hat Creek, you'll love fishing all day long! The high ceilings, coziness, and location will make this place hard to leave and exciting to come back to! Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups. 11 miles from Mt. Lassen and 20 miles from Burney.

  • The cabin is a convenient location. We had planned a trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park, the Subway Caves and Burney Falls and it was a great middle location for us. There were 4 adults and 3 kids and there was plenty of space for everyone. We liked that we didn't have to pack a lot of extra stuff, there were pillows, blankets, and towels. All we really needed to get was food. We had breakfast at JJ's Cafe (there only open until 3pm), which is a short walk along with a store/gas station that has most items you'd need. If you need to buy food, Burney is about a 20-minute drive with restaurants and a Safeway if you need to buy anything. I'd highly recommend this cabin if you're heading up to this area.

  • This condo is a wonderful place to stay if you are interested in the Lassen Volcanic National Park area or to visit family. It is a beautiful home with everything you would need to enjoy your stay. Everything was decorated for the holidays and very inviting. I would recommend staying to everyone.

  • This place is amazing. Hat Creek is right there and it is close to highway and store. We were amazed by the beautiful interior and so enjoyed our stay! The hostess was amazing and we WILL be back!

  • Now THIS is mountain living! Everything about Two Son's was perfect, from beginning to end. Firstly, the cabin is amazingly clean, beautifully decorated, and well-stocked. The cabin is conveniently located for both supplies and fishing! The hosts are wonderful and we would recommend this to anyone (like my husband) who appreciates not having to "camp." This was the perfect Air B & B!

    Christine2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in Cabin B. Hat Creek runs just steps away from the cabin's door. Place was exactly as described and host was extremely helpful.

  • What a great four days away from the bustle of your normal life. Great fishing, and a great place to stay. It's like leaving home without ever leaving the comforts of home. Definitely recommend your place if anyone is considering staying in the Hat Creek area. We'll do it again.

The Stonehouse Cabin is nestled on 10 acres in a beautiful forest on the edge of the small town of Burney, California. It features the latest in modern conveniences while maintaining a classic 'cabin' feel. Fantastic sight-seeing nearby.
The cabin itself has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, with fully equipped modern kitchen. Additionally, there is a bedroom adjacent to the garage with a queen bed and 1/2 bath. Comfortably sleeps 5 to 7 guests.
While it appears that we are in a remote location, we are actually on the edge of town, and only minutes from groceries and other local merchants. We are about 20 minutes from MacArthur Burney Falls State Park, and about 40 minutes from Lassen National Park.
  • We recently visited Dorothy's beautiful cabin in Burney. It was perfect for a family gathering--conveniently located in town in a secluded and peaceful site. The cabin is spotless and roomy with comfortable furniture and private sleeping areas for all. It is stocked with everything you need. Registering is very simple. We'll definitely return for another family gathering.

    Liz2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful spot for a gathering of old friends in a seemingly private spot but a short walk from downtown Burney. Well equipped for cooking and eating with plenty of room for all. My buds were all impressed that I found such a great place for such a reasonable price. They all want to come back next year. Lots of nearby fishing opportunities which were all visited.

    Michael2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is very nice and was easy to find. Dottie was easy to communicate with and available by text. This is probably one of the nicest places you can stay in the area. It was a short drive to Burney Falls, the subway cave, and fishing on the Pitt River. Fly fishing was good but rugged. My son caught 10 trout. We drove out on Hwy 44 and visited Mt. Lassen and Manzanita Lake. Caught a brown trout at Manzanita.

  • Great place. Close to town but feels secluded.

Our favorite getaway, this home has a special place in our hearts. With a spectacular view of the Pit River valley, you may spend more time on the deck than at nearby activities! Our place feels secluded and has all the comforts of home. We have a strict No Smoking policy and no pets are allowed on the property.
The view of the river and the surrounding valley makes this home truly unique. The 2,000+ sq ft home sleeps 12 (1 Cal-King bed, 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds, 1 hide-a-bed in the living room, plus 2 hide-a-beds in the Great Room). There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the house.
We're in open countryside... we have a couple of neighbors along our lane, but you'll feel quite secluded.
  • We had an amazing time at Jayne's place. Loved the views from the deck. It was serene. It was simply BEAUTIFUL!!! We had our breakfast there everyday of our stay. Kids loved that they could see the cows and deers. Deers come into the backyard. The house is in perfect condition to host us.

We are also a great stopping point when traveling between National Parks, being centrally locate between Lassen National Park and Crater Lake in Oregon.
  • Very private and extremely quiet. The night sky was amazing and the mountains in the distance beautiful. A peaceful get away.

  • Definitely enjoyed my stay at Sandra's place. The cabin is spacious, clean, and fully stocked for a comfortable stay. It's in a remote part of California - perfect for unplugging from the digital world (literally - there's no wifi and barely any cellular signal :)) and exploring. No noise pollution means a unblocked view of the stars at night. While it's not close, it's also not too far from Lassen Volcanic National Park, which was our main destination of the trip.

    Michael2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sandi's Ranch is such a welcoming destination. Immaculate and well appointed the cabin is situated behind the main house, massive shop, extensive orchard, and horse barn. The road to the cabin is very accessible and pothole free with a good gravel base and lined with beautiful hand stacked rock walls. The cabin sits on a hill covered in oaks and over looking a pond, frequented by a herd of deer. The House is clean and cozy with almost everything anyone could hope for. Beautiful leather couches in the living room, and extraordinary photography on the walls by a local artist. There is a good proximity to so many wonderful things to explore...Burney Falls, The Pitt River, Fall River Valley and Lassen National Park...there is an exquisite view of Mt Shasta from the town of McArthur and the access to Hwy 299 was excellent even in during a winter snow storm. Sandi is a wonderful host, with a lot of attention to detail...we even had fresh ranch eggs upon arrival for our breakfast. We settled in quickly and felt quite comfortable watching the snow fall outside. For us, it was the perfect getaway and hope to return again soon.

    Bev & Rod2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, quiet, 4 miles from McArthur, conscientious host and a great value. If we are in the area, we are coming back for sure!

    Ian2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is very roomy and comfortable. It was a great base for a fishing trip, and a peaceful hangout. Many small details made it even better, such as butter in the fridge, and much more. Sandi is an awesome host.

My place is close to Lassen Volcanic National Park (9 miles). You’ll love it because of the surrounding forest, woodsy cabin feel, comfy high-end bedding and towels, well-appointed kitchen, fire pit and BBQ with provided propane, and creek within 100 yards.
  • Nancy's place was exceptional and beyond our expectations. The house was well equipped, clean , and designed to suit a family visit. It had a beautiful setting with wonderful views out each window of its natural forest setting. Comfortable inside and out with great BBQ and outside dinning. It was an easy drive to shops and the Park. At the end of the day it was a welcome retreat from the walks, swimming , and animal spotting that the Park provided. Coming a long way from Australia our visit to Nancy's place was a special treat. Highly recommended. Peter, Dorothy, Lachlan and Caro.

  • This is a wonderful location, being in the woods is relaxing and the house is great, we really wished we could move there. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Clay2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy Cabin 9 far exceeded our expectations in terms of the amenities provided and the overall beauty of the house. There was nothing lacking for comfort and the woodsy views from every window were just as described. The only reason we didn't rate it five stars overall was because of the noise of nearby logging. I don't think this will be an issue for future guests, as the area being cleared was clear by the time we left. This cabin is definitely worth it and is a great base for exploring Lassen.

    Trisa2017-08-05T00:00:00Z

Nestled between Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen lies the spring fed rivers, lakes and fertile Fall River Valley. The H & O River house is located on the upper Fall River where the crystal clear waters make it a fisherman's dream. My place is good for fisherman, bird watchers, golfers, couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).

  • That was truly a great experience! The house is extremely clean and very comfortable to stay in. We appreciated the charcoal grill setup as well as gas grill on the deck. And of course the dining area - it's a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by the old pine trees when you are having your meal. Can't say enough good words about our host. She was very hospitable and responsive, gave us all the information we needed. Thank you, Gail and we'll definitely come back!

    Nikita2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at several houses through Airbnb and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) over the years and we cannot stop talking about our wonderful time at Gail's house! We were (and still are) speechless at the level of detail Gail goes to in order to ensure an enjoyable visit. She thinks of everything you may have forgotten and also provides excellent literature, maps, and stories about activities in the area (which, there's no shortage with Lassen NP a mere 15-20 minutes away). She is far and away the best host we've encountered - which, even that statement does not do justice to how thrilled we were with all her little touches that help you feel at home and relax. Beyond Gail's high level of thoughtfulness, the house is absolutely immaculate, while still feeling like home. It is also very well laid out. There is a large cozy living room and a delightful kitchen and half bath downstairs. Upstairs contains all the bedrooms - a spacious master en-suite, and two very comfortable bedrooms and a lovely bathroom. There are also ample sitting areas in the backyard, with room to play games, watch the deer, relax, or eat outside. This house far exceeded our expectations and I cannot imagine anyone being the least bit disappointed with their stay. We absolutely loved it.

    Wendy2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a great time staying at Gail's home while visiting Lassen National Park and some of the sights in the area. The place was very new and incredibly clean (even the lint trap in the clothes dryer had been vacuumed). Gail had taken great care to stock the home with plenty of amenities. There was coffee and hot chocolate, a bottle of wine in the fridge, and even tooth brushes and toothpaste (in case we forgot our own). She was nice enough to find a pack and play and a high chair for our baby. We felt very welcome there. Gail and her husband have a home next door and know the area very well. She saw me out in the back near the creek taking pictures on the first night we were there. She came out to say hi and give me a tour of the meadow behind the home where we saw a bunch of deer. I highly recommend Gail's place to anyone staying in the area.

    Derek2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Gail's house was the perfect vacation hideaway for our family. Her house was meticulously maintained and had every conceivable need covered including bottled water and wine, great kitchen, great outdoor area and nice sized bedroom and baths. Each bath had soap and shampoo dispensers and clean/plentiful towels. One even had a jacuzzi tub. We especially liked the outdoor patio which is equipped with a grill and canopied table for up to eight people. Plenty of chairs and a fire-pit so we basically cooked our dinners outside every night even though the kitchen had everything. The surroundings are quiet and people friendly. Gail is also very thoughtful and frequently checked on our needs. Knowing we had kids and loved to try fishing, she personally took us to her favorite fishing location and helped us catch enough trout for dinner. The house has a wonderful creek running next to it and a small lake (McCumber) close by. This lake is less crowded and great for fishing and boating away from the main lakes at Lassen National Park. It is about a 25 minutes drive to the North entrance of Lassen National Park where numerous trails and sight seeing are available. We did find that parts of Lassen are still closed during May so it would be prudent to check before you go to the Park. Overall, Gail's house is better than a five star hotel and a bargain considering what you get from local hotels and what they provide. To top it off, Gail is a great host and we could not find anything to complain about except perhaps our stay was too short. Ramsay and Helen

  • This listing does not come close to showing you the beauty of this home. A home it is! When you stay here you feel at home, not like a visitor, not like a hotel guest, you feel like you live here! Gail has done an impeccable job of making this house a home for anyone who enters to stay! The inside and outside of the home are immaculate and well appointed. The gated yard has several sitting areas, a fire pit, a gas grill, a covered picnic table, and horseshoes, all sprinkled with beautiful gardens and flowers. The creek that runs behind the lot is beatific and peaceful! Sitting on one of the covered patios in the morning with my coffee was a little piece of heaven! The inside of the home was beautifully decorated and so comfortable. The linens were soft and clean and the beds were made with layers of blankets for our comfort level. Gail has considered every detail when preparing for visitors; there is nothing that she has not provided. The kitchen is fully, and I mean FULLY, stocked with everything you would need for a family meal including: baking dishes/utensils, wine glasses, serving dishes/utensils, storage containers, ziplock bags and Saran Wrap/foil, dishwasher and laundry detergent are all provided, fans, high quality toiletries, necessary cleaning items, games, books. . . You name it, she has provided it! And to top it off she was friendly, welcoming, and helpful! We loved this home so much that we would move right in if we could!!! Thank you Gail for such a comfortable, lovely stay in you home! When we visit again this will be our home away from home!

  • Very nice, cosy big house. Everything is very clean and comfy. Feels like being at home (or if I were to really admit it, better....)

  • This is a gorgeous house with lovely decorations, great furniture, beds, baths, and appliances. The kitchen is fully packed with cooking appliances and there is a gas grill. The house was meticulously cared for and was super clean. It is conveniently located 10-15 minutes off the Lassen national park (north west entrance). Gail was very welcoming and super quick in communications. We really loved our stay and would recommend to anyone seeking a place near Lassen.

  • Lassen Lodge was a dream come true for my group and I. When we first came across the listing, we knew we had to stay there. Although the lodge looks beautiful even from just the photos, we couldn't believe how much more breathtaking it was seeing it in person. Each person in our group was wide-eyed and gaping in awe of the lodge's spacious-yet-cozy accommodations. As a host, Heidi was extremely responsive, kind, and courteous during our booking process, leading up to our arrival, and during our stay. She made sure we were well taken care of and that we had everything that we could possibly need to make our time at the lodge extremely enjoyable. We hope we can have the opportunity to visit again!

  • Lassenlodge is a perfect place to visit Lassenpark and to have a rest! We were 3 families with 8 teenagers and everybody enjoy it. Lassen Park is a great experience, we have made wonderful trails and we enjoy the volcano, the fumeroles and the beauty of the nature and landscapes; it is the best experience and trails we have ever had since Sequoia Park and Yosemite. The house of Heidi is really near the enter of the park and we appreciate it since we had already made a lot of miles to visit Oregon and California. As we enter in the property there was a beer waiting for us!! The kitchen and the space of the house was appreciated, the BBQ also, and we had a wonderful night around the pit fire. The teenagers have organized a nice Pool competition, it was really great! The house is very clean and luxurious and Heidi is an excellent Host. It was such a good experience, we would like to come back as soon as possible...from France where we live!! Thank you so much Heidi! Cet endroit est magnifique, authentique et permet réellement des balades extraordinaires, nous reviendrons avec un plaisir fou! Merci Corinne

  • The house was amazing! The photos don't do this property justice. The kitchen was perfect for making meals for a large group. It was well stocked with appliances and kitchen gadgets - the griddle was large and worked well to make tons of french toast. The beds were plentiful and so very comfortable! Everything was perfect. Heidi was quick to respond, answered all my questions, and was extremely easy to work with! Can't wait to go back!

  • We were a group of 16 friends and we had a wonderful time! The home is gorgeous and very spatious. There's a bunch of deck space, the fireplace inside is beautiful and it was really cool to have a firepit outside too. The kitchen is big and easy to cook in! Heidi has it very well stocked.

  • We went up to stay in cabin #6 for the July 4th weekend. Her property is so beautiful and peaceful. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this is your place. It's also conveniently located about 20 minutes from Manzanita Lake in Lassen National Park.

  • This was a wonderful place to stay for our weekend visit to Lassen National Park. Perfect size for two adults and two kids, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. My kids enjoyed the pool and the chicken. We would definitely recommend it and stay again if we plan another trip to the area.

  • We had such a wonderful long weekend at the cabin! We arrived late but had no trouble finding the cabin and as soon as we arrived we instantly felt relaxed and at home. The cabin is quite and comfortable and the location is fabulous! During the day we explored Mount Lassen and Burney Falls at night we BBQ'd or headed down the road for hot Pizza! We are looking forward to visiting again soon!

    Carolyn2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Shingletown. The cabin was a perfect location - close enough to Lassen and just off the highway. My one comment if you are planning to eat any meals at the cabin, bring along some essentials like paper towels, a knife, sponge for washing dishes and any sort of bowls you may need for mixing items. We pre-planned meals and the only cutting utensil was a steak knife- I was VERY glad I had pre-cut the fruit. There is also a tiny refrigerator so plan around that. The cabin was clean and met our needs.

    Monica2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • As described. great location and value. wifi didn't work.

    Wanchen2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great little cabin in a relaxed wooded setting. It was a perfect base for exploring Lassen Park. The cabin was extremely clean and you can tell the owner put a lot of thought into the decor. Comfortable bed and and nice strong space heaters too. My 2 year old sons loved the chickens that walk around the property and then are in a cute chicken coop at night. One thing I should have bought bug spray but we got some at Reeds which is the grocery store in Shingletown. Shingletown is tiny and you are much better off cooking your own food rather than getting anything there. We got breakfast at Reeds one morning and it was greasy and not good. We also got a pizza from the pizza place. Not very good either but we were exhausted after a long day hiking and so it hit the spot. But like I said food would have been better if I had just cooked myself! There is no oven in the cabin though just a microwave and a grill. Towels and mini soaps and shampoo also provided which is always nice.

The location is great – the amenities in Shingletown are minutes away and it’s an easy (and beautiful!) 20 minute drive to Lassen. I’ll be back!!!

  • What a wonderful 5-night stay we had at Grace Lake Cabin #1! Not only was it a very convenient location for exploring Lassen, but also it was just down the road from the tiny town with access to basic provisions. Though simple, the cabin had everything we needed and even a sense of style and a super comfortable bed and pillows. Teresa and Ray were great hosts, and everything about our stay in their cabin exceeded our expectations. We will stay again if we return to Lassen, and we will happily recommend Grace Lake Cabins to others.

    Sheila2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our two-night stay in Teresa's place (cabin #1) and wished we could have stayed longer. It was clean, comfortable, and a convenient 20 minute drive from the Lassen Park entrance. I'd recommend it for a quick weekend get away or a longer vacation.

    Emma2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome "glamping" weekend! Cabins were spotless, recently remodeled, comfy and well-decorated. Cabin #1 is quite roomy, too. Teresa & Ray we're SO friendly and helpful with everything we needed. Grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed meeting the dogs & chickens. They had a booklet with local attractions and menus nearby restaurants. Very helpful! Being gluten-free we decided to self-cater not knowing what we'd find in Shingletown to eat. Cabins come with fridge, microwave, coffee pot and BBQ grill. Kitchen had the basics - plates, glasses, silverware. TIP: BYO BBQ tools and any special kitchen tools you require. We forgot a chopping knife and can opener, which weren't provided, but Teresa happily located one for us to use. :) The location is great - We used it as base camp for exploring Mt. Lassen. If you're in to horses, check out the Wild Horse Sanctuary nearby. It's amazing!

    Angela & Nate2012-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Teresa's place is perfect for staying near to Lassen National Park and provides just the right amount of comfort and seclusion we were looking for. Cabin 1 accommodates two people easily - it's small but well laid out and the bathroom is surprisingly roomy. We especially enjoyed coming back from a long day of hiking to stick our feet in the pool, cook some food on the charcoal grill outside and get a good night's rest in the king sized bed. We will definitely be back!

    Dani2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay for exploring Lassen National Park. The bed is large and comfortable, great after a day's hiking. No cooker but a BBQ and microwave. The shops in Shingletown can provide anything you might need including fresh produce for a BBQ or a good pizza.

    Diana2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying here. I love staying at these cabins. Clean, well decorated, and comfortable. Perfect place to stay if you're headed up to Mt Lassen for the day. I highly recommend the pizza shop down the road.

    Adriane2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed for three nights in Teresa's cabine #1 and went day-hiking in the nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park. The cabine is nicely furnished and it is more like a hotel room than a cabine. The bed is very comfortable. We can recommend Teresa's resort for all who are looking for something else than a campground near Lassen Volcanic Park.

    Ruedi2013-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location for visiting Lassen. Staying here instead of Redding allowed us to get to the park earlier in the morning. And we could still easily drive to Redding for dinner. The cabin was a good size for the two of us, clean and cozy. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Being so close to the road detracted a bit from the woodsy feel, and I didn't like leaving the window open at night because of the road noise. Otherwise, everything was great.

This 2 bedroom mountain home is a great place to relax. Beat the valley heat in the summer or play in the snow in the winter. It is only 10 miles from the South Entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Enjoy spending summer evenings around a campfire or winter evenings with hot chocolate beside the cozy wood stove.
Mineral is a charming little mountain town with sunny days and cool summer nights. Winters are generally cool and often come with quite a bit of snow. With a population of 123 people it is never hectic here. Many of the homes are vacation cottages with a scattering of year round residences. The town is great for walking as there is very little traffic so strolling around town is very pleasant. There are also several nice country roads and trails that are near enough that you can leave right from the house. No need for a car to access these trails. Biking is also a popular activity. There is lodge, restaurant and post office in town.
  • Great location!

  • My family and I had a wonderful time. The property is located in small little town. It's not far from Lassen volcanic area and Chester town. Very spacious, and very clean. We would stay there again. The owners are very friendly, helpful, very patience and accommodating. They also response fast to any questions you might have. Thank you!

  • We had a wonderful time staying here. The place was clean and comfortable. It was a great location, very close to Mt. Lassen. There were tons of snow shoe trails nearby and we got to finally get out and enjoy the snow. Ron and Asya were great communicators. They answered all of our questions quickly and were very helpful. I would absolutely recommend this place. I can't wait to stay here again!

  • We had a lovely weekend! The house is very cozy and has everything we could ask for and was super convenient to Lassen National Park! We went to Lassen during the day to snowshoe and came back to cook dinner and relax by the fire in the evening. Ron and Asya were very accommodating, letting us check in early, and were easy to communicate with! We will definitely come back.

    Rachel2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Asya's mountain home is cozy, comfortable, and charming. It is a perfect location for exploring the western side of Lassen National Park. The kitchen space is large and was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals, and we enjoyed seeing Asya's artwork displayed throughout the house. Asya was easy to communicate with and we would highly recommend her place to anyone visiting Lassen.

    Emma2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly located just on the South side of Lassen Volcanic Park. We arrived to be greeted by the first snow of the Season (exceptionally early on Oct 2nd) and the main road through the park was closed for the first few days. However that only added to the experience as the snow brought its own magic to the spectacular landscape. The visitor center was still accessible as the road was closed just beyond it and the Sulfur Works and Mill Creek Falls trail were open from there. Many of the walks are accessible from the roads that surround the Park and we were able to see some of the 'must see' sights (Devil's Kitchen, Boiling Spring Lake, Cinder Cone). The house itself was perfect - warm, cozy, and with a great selection of puzzles and games for the evening.

    Steve2016-10-07T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed at Grace Lake Resort for 2 nights in August with our family of 5. We had the (only) big house on the compound. The other buildings are smaller cottages. We had a great time. The house was huge (for holiday standards) with nice decorations. More than enough space for 5 persons and a nice kitchen. We did the cooking ourselves. Shop at Redding (huge Walmart), for there is no remarkable shop at Shingletown itself. Around the house is a nice garden with grass and lots of trees (welcome shade during hot days) and many choices to sit or lay down. You can even make a camp fire. In addition there was a funny bunch of chicken, who came by the house quite regularly to make an inspection (for food I guess). We found them funny. The owners of the place are very friendly en welcoming people. We loved the place. It's a great base for a visit to Lassen Volcanic NP.

  • Teresa was a fantastic host! Our famIly rented all the cottages and house for a wedding. Every single cabin and lodging not only sparkled but was so graciously appointed and comfortable that I would go there again in a heartbeat. The swimming pool and fire pit were both group focal points. Absolutely fantastic place for groups or couples and children would love it too.

  • The location is great, close to everything we wanted. The downside is that there's a rooster in the yard that starts his day at 4am. remove the rooster and the place is really great.

  • The 3 bedroom house was wonderful. We totally recommend staying here when in the area. If we have thanksgiving again in shingletown, this is where we will stay. A side note, we had reserved a different property from a different individual and they canceled at the last minute -like 3 hours before we were due to arrive . On my way driving to shingletown from the Bay Area , I contacted Teresa and she accommodated our group with only 2 hours notic!!!. I have rarely found anyone with that level of customer service. I was really impressed and our stay was wonderful thanks to Teresa and family.

Our home is decorated lodge style- tucked away in the tall pine trees
The back patio is covered with an out door living space that looks out onto the large back yard.
  • Katherine’s place is the definite place to go if you’re trying to get away from it all. Very close to Lassen National Park, Eskimo hill and Redding. So quiet and peaceful.

  • The blue pine house is a cozy getaway. The layout of the home really worked for us. Kids rooms on one side the master on the other with kitchen and living spaces in the middle. There’s fun artwork inside but the most beautiful part is the backyard. We enjoyed coffee on the back patio with the woodpeckers, squirrels and deer. Walks and runs past the winery are spectacular with the great Mt. Shasta in the background. The local Coffee shop and restaurants are great. Very warm friendly locals. Katherine is a wonderful host, great place to stay. Thank you!

    Carolyn2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine’s home was very comfortable. The kitchen was large which I loved! Watching the many deer on the property was especially fun. The home was less than a mile from the wedding venue and close to family.

Our fabulous forest log home, 15 minutes from Mt. Lassen National Park. 5 bedrooms, 4 baths. Alaskan cedar hot tub. 20 acres with gorgeous creek. All amenities. Sleeps up to 16. Beloved by travelers from around the world. A must stay.
The Lassen area is an undiscovered jewel. Hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, site seeing, bird watching--all without the crowding and traffic of other get aways like Tahoe or the wine country. NOTE: This is NOT a party house, it is our home where we live over half the year. We expect our guests to respect it hopefully as they do their own. Note that we have a 5 night minimum on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
When you drive through the red fence gate you are in a secluded, quiet paradise.
  • What an amazing getaway! Such a lovely, peaceful place. We enjoyed the hot tub and being able to see so many stars at night. There was more than enough room for our large group and we were able to make use of the kitchen to cook all our meals. I hope we can come back again sometime!

  • Upon first pulling up at John's cabin, the passengers in my car exclaimed "No, is this really it? Holy cow, this is amazing!" And that sentiment carried on to every other car in our group, from exiting our cars to setting our first steps inside the house. John was very accommodating to our group's late evening arrival time, and when we got there, the lights were turned on it felt just like home. The cabin was more than adequately stocked with all we needed for a pleasurable stay: bountiful blankets, towels and sheets and an incredibly complete kitchen, stocked full of pots, pans, plates, bowls, silverware, appliances and more. We loved the fire pit outside and the hot tub provided great evening leisure time. Some of our group went out stargazing in the back yard which was such a treat. We can't thank John enough for the amazing stay!

  • The Ultimate Lassen House was better than advertised, and a prefect place for our larger group. The property was wonderful and the house a great place to spend a day or rest your head at the end of a day of playing in the nearby parks. The host and property manager were very accommodating and helpful in returning an item left behind (thanks again). We would definitely return.

  • John and his property manager Doreen have been very helpful in the whole process. The house itself is as good as described and reviewed by others. Great stay, and i would totally recommend it to who are potentially interested.

  • Isabel and John have created a home that offers a space of incredible peace and beauty with extraordinary attention to providing amenities and equipment for a memorable weekend. There is ample space for individuals to contemplate, converse and recreate simultaneously is a large group. Thank you for sharing it. You are wonderful stewards of this sacred property.

  • My family (of 16) and I had a GREAT experience staying at the Lassen cabin! Not only was the caretaker (Erik) present upon arrival to answer all of our questions, but there was also a booklet with LOTS of information regarding the property and things to do in the surrounding area. John & Isabel have done a great job with this cabin, everything from dishes to furnishings are not only of great quality, but also beautiful. We all had a wonderful time cooking large meals in the kitchen, which had ample supply of cooking and serving ware (great assets)! We also enjoyed all of the amenities that the home offered, such as the hot tub, fire pit, horseshoe pit, ping pong table, media room, bikes and snow sleds! Thank you again to the owners for opening up their home, it is definitely a place we hope to visit again!

The cabin is located 20 minutes from the South entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Tucked away on highway 172 the resort offers access to Mill Creek, a restaurant, nearby hikes & beautiful scenery.
The cabin offers a double sized bed with a sofa sleeper sharing the same room. There's an attached bathroom & kitchen, dining area which has a stove/oven, frig & kitchen cooking/eating utensils. We also offer a toaster & coffee marker. We do NOT have a microwave, TV or WIFI access anywhere on the property. This is the ultimate space to come relax & tone out the chaos. A small brook runs behind the cabin & the views of the surrounding mountains & meadow make it worth the trip.

Mill Creek is a small cabin community just 1 1/2 hours from Chico and only 15 minutes from the entrance to Lassen National Park. This is a large comfortable cabin. It is over 1600 square feet and has 7 beds (one king, two queens, two fulls and two twins). It is an ideal location for a multi family retreat to the mountains. The layout is as follows: master bedroom downstairs with attached bathroom, one bedroom upstairs with queen bed and a door, the other two bedrooms upstairs are loft style and do not have doors. There is a large backyard with a deck, fire pit, hammock, and chair swing. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cookware, plates, cups and silverware that you should need. There is also a charcoal BBQ. All of the bedding for the 7 beds is provided. We have plenty of extra pillows and blankets. There is a washer and dryer for your use. There is limited cell phone reception in this area. I use AT&T and usually have two bars of LTE service, but I can not vouch for other providers. The cabin does not have a landline or wifi. The closest hotspot is two miles down the road at Highlands Resort. There is a restaurant/store just down the street from our cabin. The store stocks limited items including milk, ice cream, beer, wine, and some breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Try the excellent milk shakes!
    Peaceful mountain setting
  • We greatly appreciated the opportunity to stay at Dave's cabin a few weeks ago. We had a family of 9 that stayed here. There was plenty of seating for meals. There is a long table that I do not think is pictured in addition to the round table. Unfortunately it rained and hailed most of our trip so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor swings and such. We did manage a BBQ before it rained again. They have tons of games so no need to pack any like we had done ;) we even packed a game they had there. Plenty of linens for beds and baths. Very pretty scenery and lots of toys too for even a 2 year old (he loved the keyboards). I would recommend this place and hope to come back again!

  • We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin. We planned a family gathering and wanted a comfortable space to hang our hats after exploring the national park, and this cabin was perfect. Everyone raved about how great it was, and I got a lot of praise for finding such a gem. It fit seven adults comfortably, had a nice patio out back for afternoon lounging, and TONS of games. David was an excellent host. I had never used Airbnb before, so I had a lot of questions, and David always got back to me immediately. Hopefully we'll be able to come back next year!

  • The cabin makes an excellent base camp for exploring Lassen Volcanic NP and the surrounding wilderness. It is quiet and secluded but has all of the amenities to make you feel at home. There is plenty of space for everyone, and lots of things to entertain both adults and kids alike during downtime.

  • Great launching point for Lassen Volcanic National Park! The cabin was quiet and rustic. Definitely a place to get away from it all. We played games around the table and enjoyed the back yard. Milkshakes right down the road were super tasty. This is a quaint cabin getaway if you want something a little more rustic and secluded. We enjoyed our stay at the cabin.

    Matt2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had wonderful time. The kids had lot of things to do. It was clean and warm. Highly recommended. Make sure you do not arrive at night. It was a little bit difficult to find.

    Avigail2014-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We visited the cabin with our three young children and it was perfect for us. The trampoline was a huge hit, as was the mini-pool table. I was able to go mountain biking right out the front door. We made fires for s'mores in the fire pit every night. A friendly deer visited each time. The cabin had all the incidentals we needed. It was very convenient to Lassen Park, which we visited every day. One thing we were not aware of before visiting was how remote the cabin was (a good thing). I had fortunately brought some foodstuffs for breakfast and lunch for a few days because there is little available in Mill Creek unless you eat in the cafe, which stops taking dinner orders at 6:30 on Sunday. We ate dinner at the Mill Creek Resort and bought eggs and lunch meat there, but were truly saved by bringing leftovers out of our fridge and various snack foods for hiking. We eventually went to Chester to stock up, but more info about local services and lack thereof would have helped - consider yourself helped now!

    David2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful! We flew into Reno/Tahoe Airport from Oklahoma and met my brother & his family who live elsewhere in California. We were all pleasantly surprised at how cozy, comfortable and welcoming the home was. There were 4 adults and 3 children in our group. The kids and adults alike enjoyed the trampoline and variety of table games available (as well as the karaoke machine). We appreciated the grill so we didn't heat up the house, and enjoyed lounging on the tree-shaded deck for hours after dinner. Had no problems at all. David was out of town, and his helper Rebecca was quick to respond to all text messages or questions. The area is quiet and peaceful, hardly any traffic or people around when we were there. We spent most of our daytime hours at Mt. Lassen National Volcanic park and enjoyed every minute of our vacation! Thank you to the Zeichick family for sharing this little slice of heaven with our family! Beds are plentiful and comfy, kitchen well-equipped, everything clean and in working order. We highly recommend this cabin, especially for family gatherings. We can't wait to go back!

This 3 bedroom house + 40 acres of private land is a perfect place for hiking, camping, hunting, ATV'ing, horseback riding, cross country skiing, waterfalls and more! Lassen National Park, Mineral, Wineries, and Lake Almanor are all within reach.
This is the perfect place for large groups because of the amount of space! Bring your fleet of RV's, or tent camp right on the property, use the house as your home base for showers, kitchen, and laundry.
  • Elle was great to work with and all of her communications were quite prompt. Our extended family enjoyed a great winter adventure at Lassen National Park and the house was a great base camp for us. The kitchen was great and the kids (and dog) really enjoyed exploring the property and frozen ponds.

  • Great location. Good proximity to Lassen Park. Mineral (one town east) has a small show where you can get basic groceries, so you don't need to get everything before heading up. However, I recommend fueling up earlier (e.g., in Red Bluff)

Situated on a hillside lavender farm over looking a vineyard. This 5,000 soft sprawling ranch home is beautifully built and furnished with attention to detail.

Tucked into the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range with unobstructed majestic views of the Trinity Alps, Mount Shasta, and the Sacramento Valley area are truly priceless. The five thousand square foot residence designed in the “Cliff May” style of early California ranch homes, has been fully restored for the casual but elegant Northern California life-style.
Our home is tucked away on 120 private acres, there are neighboring homes but none are visible. There are 2 additional estate homes, and 3 ranch guest lodges available for rent as well.
  • The place is gorgeous! We stayed in the house over the weekend with family and had the most amazing time! Very scenic and quiet!

    Brittany2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cons: My two problems with the house are the facts tat it is ver old and very dark. both day time and night time. We actually just got home and I feel how my eye hurts. It was nearly impossible to play board games or read. Eating around the dining room is the huge, but dark, dining room was a challenging experience. The big size TV's are not connected to anything, not even to a DVD. the one that is connected to a dvd player is so small, we started watching a movie but quit right away. The Jacuzzi outside, again, very poorly lit, some of the jets don't operate. Pros: Took host a little over 24hrs to correspond our first few attemets, but once communication was established, host was very accommodating. The location is in great proximity to Lassen Park, which is great. We traveled with my brother who is a chef. The Kitchen is very big and professional. very well equipped. The house has great view. most bed are comfy

  • Steve made sure everything was all set and even called when we were running late to make sure we were all set.

  • Steve was an absolutely fantastic host and I had the privilege of being his first Air BnB patron and seeing the property! From the first moment of contact, he made sure I had everything I needed to find the beautiful location and for a comfortable stay. he went so far as to clear out a great spot to the side of the property for me to pitch my tent, and has many amenities to offer. Definitely a great time staying at Eagle Lake, with many stories shared and heard! Looking forward to coming back during a peak of fishing season!

    Nina2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is sort of a place you don't want to write a review for. You don't want it discovered and wish to keep it a secret for yourself. I am a backpacker and this is luxury camping. Steve had already put up the 3 bedroom tent before we arrived. He had also set up the wood stacks for us to create the fire, a propane tank powered barbeque and lights. He helped us when our airbed started leaking in countless other ways. The location is really close to Eagle Lake; but secluded. There were tents next to each other which we really loved. Waking up to birds chirping; especially hummingbirds poking on the tent was a highlight. I could go on and on. Will definitely return.

    Angik2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I had a wonderful time on Steve's! The property and surrounding area were beautiful. Steve was there to greet us with a well equipped campsite, and the offer of his services when we first arrived. Also, offered coffee in the morning! Otherwise, he left us to the solitude, and just let us know he would be available if the need arose. We took advantage of the existing 3 room tent and there was plenty of space to throw up another. A short walk down(a mile?) led to the expansive Eagle Lake. We found a better spot to swim at the nearby marina, but, this was a great spot to take in the scenery and wildlife, or catch frogs if you're so inclined( my son was). Also, visited one of the nearby lookouts, well worth the trip. I booked 2 nights at Steve's place on Eagle Lake for my son and I. We were on a road trip south and had planned on finding other accommodations the following night, but enjoyed our time at Steve's so much we decided to spend an extra night.

    Grant2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing deal. 3 bedroom tent set up for us with a barbeque and fire pit. Not to mention he gave us a stack of fire wood to use! Picnic table and the cleanest outhouse I've ever used. Nice short walk to eagle lake. Definitely plan on going back when it gets warmer.

    Gillian2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Steve! You were a great host and accommodated us so well. A few if things that we forgot he helped us with. He greeted us well and sent us off well. He was kind and informative of the property and the surrounding area. We would highly recommend his property to others. We are looking forward to returning again.

    Rickie2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Steve went out of his way to accommodate our late arrival. He's a friendly and laid back person and greeted us alongside his dog. The listing is accurate with its 3-room tent, fire pit, picnic table, propane BBQ, and port-a-potty. This is great for convenience camping as the tent is already set up, firewood ready to go, etc. We weren't prepared for the drop in temperature in the evening and Steve was nice enough to lend his extra bedding for us. He made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. He was extremely communicative and friendly. I would highly recommend as place to stay over while in the Lassen National Park area. Thanks again, Steve!

  • We just stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. We've had friends rent the house in the past, and this year it was our turn - so I knew what to expect. This house is ideal for little kids. The creek running through the yard keeps them entertained for hours. I packed squirt guns, and the kids spent most of the time at the house running around the yard in epic squirt gun wars. We also packed their scooters, and the streets are quiet enough for them to safely scoot around the street without a lot of traffic. The house itself is quaint & cozy. I knew there wasn't a TV in the living room, but some guests may want to know that. Also, the back bedroom is HUGE, and could easily accommodate a king sized bed instead of the full or queen that's in it. A king would be better for families with little kids that prefer to sleep with mom & dad away from home. The bathrooms are clean with great water pressure and wall heaters that work great. All in all, we love this house and will definitely be back! Thanks Ted & Miriam!

  • Lovely place, well equipped and cosy. Close to shops, some restaurants and Lassen Volcanic Parc, the main reason for our trip to this location. Can recommend!

  • The property is absolutely beautiful with the porch and creek in the backyard, and the interior of the home was clean and spacious enough for myself and 4 guests to relax independently or share meals and be together. We loved the selection of lawn games, board games, the gas bbq and the well stocked kitchen! Our host made sure I had all the information I needed with check in details, tips on shopping, gas, and general info for Chester, CA! I'd recommend this home to anyone and my guests and I would all love to stay there again in the future!!! Thank you Ted!

  • The house is very cozy and well appointed. It felt like stepping into a well-loved home. The backyard with a little creek running through was a nice place to hang out and visit in the evening.

The creek is always full! Remodeled kitchen gives this 1929 creekside home comfort and convenience. Large dining room table seats up to 10. Updated Granite counters and stainless appliances contrast old double hung windows and finished wood walls.
Adorable 1929 home on an amazing creek. Upgraded Kitchen. High end mattresses and bedding.
The home is located on a tiny private street with only 5 homes. Guests rarely meet anymore than one of my neighbors.
  • My wife and I booked a trip for 6 people and our small dog to Michael's cozy cabin by the creek. We had a quick 3-day weekend retreat to Lassen's countryside and couldn't have been happier with Michael's place as our local hub. His place is in the perfect location, all of the beds are great, and he provided us with plenty of wood for the wood-burning stove. He even demonstrated some tricks in managing it and gave some wonderful tips on places to visit and nearby resources to use. The only noise was from the small, calm waterfall behind the cabin. It's a great place to unplug from the internet and enjoy real social interactions around a fire -- whether you have it inside the cabin or behind it by the creek.

  • I had such a lovely time at Alex and Stephanie's house. My friend and I wanted a mini get-away for a few days since we had time off before thanksgiving and found the perfect accommodations .We had full privacy in the apartment garage and it was such a great set-up with a full kitchen , bedding, towels , laundry, wi-fi and personal touches such as coffee, tea, and juice for the morning as well as a sample of their homemade beer. Great location to use as a home base for exploring Mount Lassen National Park ( about half an hour away ) and though we didn't have time our hosts shared they are plenty of other outdoor and other activities to enjoy in the area. Alex and Stephanie were such gracious hosts that were easy to reach if we had any questions and such a pleasure to share a cup of coffee with them in morning I definitely want to come back when the snow melts to get a chance to explore more of the area and enjoy the company of Alex and Stephanie

  • We had a most enjoyable stay. Our room and accomodations were excellent – it would be easy to extend our stay. Hosts were helpful and generous. The location is excellent for all sorts of outdoor recreation. Added benefit was free WiFi.

  • This is an awesome place to stay. Alex is a wonderful host. The room we were staying is just like you see in the pictures, neat and cozy; and it has an attached bathroom, not to forget the free Wi-Fi. The location is a little further away from all the lodges and hotels near Lassen but well worth the drive. Lake Almanor is very close and is an added attraction. It was like visiting and staying with a friend. Alex had a ton of information for us about the area; where to eat and what to see. He even let us use his maps and atlases for our trip to Lassen. It made our experience much more personal. Highly recommend it!

    Sucheta2011-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time going to Lassen, I looked up places close to the park and this location is really close to both Lassen National Park and Lake Almanor. Stephanie and Alex are very welcoming, when we got to Chester, they were there to help us get settled. Both are very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the whole region. We were encouraged to ask questions about anything related to our trip. Before we got there, Stephanie made sure to give me enough details about the weather and road conditions which kept us aware. (We were driving right after a storm) The cottage itself features a garage which is very helpful for someone who might be traveling in the winter since it can snow overnight. The room was cozy and I loved the day bed. The kitchenette had everything from microwave, fridge, oven, and stove. The water is fresh and local and it tasted amazing! Even though it was below freezing outside, it felt so cozy and warm inside, the place had very smartly placed features like automatic sensors for lights and a heater and a wood stove for heat. Another great thing about this location is that it's a good equidistance between the Lassen National Park entrance from the southwest and southeast, as well as being 2-3 minutes from Lake Almanor. Can't wait to come back in the summer!

  • Ideal Air BnB experience. Alex and Steph were very welcoming, the cottage was extremely comfortable and the setting, near Lassen, is excellent. The beer and hot tub are icing on the cake.

    Andrew2015-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • AirBnB is sadly under-marketing themselves in the "what a way to meet awesome people" department. Steph and Alex were wonderful - the room was impeccable, comfortable, and spacious. I enjoyed a delightful evening with my hosts, and I slept as comfortably as if I were in my own home. There is absolutely nothing on which they could possibly improve. Many thanks also to Alex for the photo-op tips. Several of the best photos of the weekend were due to his knowledge of the area.

There is a local Bike Rental shop just down the street. A perfect getaway for all.
  • A little confusion at the check-in. If you don't own a cell which I don't, better communicate in advance to coordinate. Everyone in Chester knows Ellen. Once we found her, she was was very hospitable, and came to show us the ropes. The house is extremely comfortable, well-located for Lassen, and has everything one needs. There is an excellent supermarket in walkable distance from the house. L'Amerique profonde -- interesting, very friendly, and as always an adventure.

    Douglas2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen was prompt and responsive and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. The back patio area is fantastic for reading, relaxing, and enjoying a summer evening. Thank you for the muffins, strawberries, and tea!

    Lisa2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen's rental in the little town of Chester was very comfortable, clean, and very relaxing. We lacked for nothing. We had a very good night sleep in the comfortable beds and enjoyed the beautiful backyard for our dinner in and a round of dominos. Would stay again without any reservation!

    Yelena2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The home was as described and in an excellent location that was within walking distance to many of the locations in town. The kitchen was well stocked and although we did not use the outdoor space it was large and inviting. The only downfall is the lack of wifi, otherwise it was a great stop during our visit to Burney Falls and Lassen.

    Allison2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great experience in Chester and Lassen National Park. Ellen provided great communication about the key box and the house was fully stocked with towels, toiletries, and welcome food. It was very clean and comfortable, there was so much space, and things to do: bbq, ping pong, TV, backyard... There is a great supermarket at a walking distance (closed on weekends). We would come back here anytime.

    Marina2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • A reunion of old friends descended upon Chester for a wedding, and Ellen's house was the perfect place for us to relax and reconnect! We spent most of our time out on the incredible back patio, eating all our meals at the big picnic table and hanging out around the fire pit. Also made great use of the ping pong table. Great location - a jumping off point to many outdoor adventures - swimming at Lake Almanor, tubing on the Feather River, and lots of hikes. Ellen was a lovely and excellent host!

    Kym2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Good host. Sent us plenty of good information. Clean house with thoughtfully kept amenities in the center of Chester. Had a nice feel it it overall. The outdoor patio was great and clean. Recommend you try it if you are looking to stay at Chester or a town near the Lassen Park.

    Adi2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Two families of a total of 8 people were planning for the trip. At the last minute, the other family had to cancel the trip. I called Ellen asking to see if she could adjust the price and she worked with Airbnb for a refund. She kept in touch with us through the process and was very helpful. The place itself is fantastic located just of the Main Street. A quite calm location, a well maintained backyard which made my 2 year old so happy, a ping pong table. The house was warm and welcoming. Just a note that if you are too tall, the beds on the upper floor might not fit. It is about 40 miles to the Lassen National Park. Looking around, this was closest were you could get a house to stay. I would definitely suggest this as option for those willing to Visit the the Park and also have a nice evening at the nearby Alamanor lake.
