“Make sure and plan to eat in Harpers Ferry before and after a day of hiking and river rafting. Rations Cafe for fresh roast coffee and breakfast sammies. Canal House Grill has lovely outdoor seating. Rabbit Hole has a wonderful bar menu and a deck that looks out over the river gap. Hamilton's Tavern is our current favorite dining experience in the area. Reservations recommended. ”

“I'm a bit biased on this one, but Harpers Ferry is a total gem! Something for all: Nature, Views, Hiking, History, it's all here. Check out www.nps.gov/hafe for more details on events etc. An easy 30 min drive away, direct route on 340. The Maryland Heights hike is a local favorite. My personal favorite hike is Loudoun Heights. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (Visitor Center, Mid-Point of the trail) is also a great destination. ”
