Bathroom is in a separate bath-house a few feet from the cabin, with a toilet, sink, and shower. There is no kitchen, but there is a microwave and coffee maker. We can supply bedding, but it would be preferable for you to bring them. At Goose Bay Campground
  • Gene, did a fine job making us feel welcomed.

  • Great little quaint cabin near Alex Bay. Perfect location for exploring the 1000 islands. Great area to visit.

  • Gene was very responsive and accommodating. We were running a bit late and he was able to meet us after we completed Uncle Sam's boat tour. Pictures are completely accurate and this is a wonderful place for "glamping". We made S'mores and the kids just loved the "Tiny House". They stayed in the loft while my wife and I enjoyed the master bedroom (behind the curtain). Very cozy and we would definitely return.

  • Nice little cabin. No wifi. Very much designed for people who want to bbq - no other cooking facilities except a microwave, not even a kettle - we had to boil water in the m/w. No cutlery or crockery, but some plastic throwaway stuff. Two coffee mugs, from which we drank both wine and coffee! Water in whb warm but shower (for two days) barely tepid. Having said all that, we enjoyed our stay, which was close to the 1000 Islands and other pretty locations.

    Anni2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean and comfortable. It is really close to Alexandria bay and all the tourist attractions of 1000 islands.

  • Dear people considering this tiny house, We arrived here, not sure what to expect, and were happily surprised. The home was exactly what we expected (plus the added bonus of bedding, which we were not anticipating) and a young boy on a bicycle curiously puttering about nearby. He soon introduced himself, and we enjoyed playing a friendly game of football. We meandered into downtown Alexandria Bay (or a-bay as the locals call it) and were, well, shocked. It is clearly intended for 20-somethings partying together, possibly over their first legal drink. Although a-bay left much to be desired, we did enjoy an ordinary meal overlooking the extraordinary St. Laurence Seaway at Bonnie Castle. We slept pretty well, and the next morning we had bacon and eggs (and a dab of wishful biscuit, a rather hilarious blob of tan dough). That day we spent lazily, until we headed over to Keeywaydin State Park. There is an Olympic sized swimming pool, a nice playground, plenty of camping spots a marina and fishing. We enjoyed the playground, and later the picturesque views of water, land, sky and flowers. We also witnessed a struggle with a fish that got my daughter a bit hysterical, along with the girl who had caught it. Although the fish was eventually freed, the sight was actually pretty funny. That night we had hot dogs and a pie that we had picked up nearby. Our neighbors, and, by then friends came over as well, and we sat around the fire talking and laughing. The next morning, we went on the glass bottomed boat to Rock Island Lighthouse, and experience that will be difficult to forget. The boat was small enough that we didn't feel like tiny specks, the captain was funny (not to mention the recent channel catfish record breaker) and our tour guide was wonderful. After our tour guide terrorized us by explaining what to do in case of emergency, we headed off. The middle is a strip of glass, and you get to witness so called fish. Although only a couple minnows and a giant tail were sighted on the 2 hour 45 minute trip, there were several adamant claims that fish do in fact live in the river. As one passenger remarked "yeah right". As interesting as the flora and fauna may be, the history surrounding the thousand islands is rich, exciting, and surprisingly not a part of reality TV. Everything from ghosts to treasure to castles was covered, and we felt very proud of our decision, especially after we dis-boarded. Our family highly recommends the Thousand Islands (Clayton is the place to be for families) and this enchanting cabin is the perfect place to call home base.

    Adam2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Gene was very professional and the cabin was terrific. The location is easy to find and secluded. Our linens and the furniture were very clean, and everything works well.

    Joe2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin just the right size for my two children and I. It was very clean and exactly as advertised. Bathroom and shower facility was also very clean. Communication was easy and checking in and out was simple.

Quaint cabin located on beautiful Black Lake in St Lawrence county, a top fishing destination. One bedroom (double bed), full bath and kitchen, porch. Dock space and boat ramp on property. Arrangements can be made for boat rentals - aluminum motor boats and pontoon boats. 2 hour flight from Boston. 1 hour from Albany, on Cape Air. approximately 25 miles from St Lawrence University under 30 minutes to Alexandria Bay and the Thousand Islands
  • The good - the cabin is very clean and Mrs. Judi is so welcoming and wonderful. The screened in porch and views of the lake are gorgeous. As mentioned in other reviews, the cabin is VERY small. Perfect for fishing - or anything outdoors. Staying inside is a bit of a struggle because of the limited space. There is no couch or sitting area other than wooden chairs in the kitchen area. People in the area have dogs that are allowed to roam around unleashed and unattended. (Saw at least 4 different dogs roaming) One jumped on me, and of course the owners were no where in site. If you are scared of dogs, you may want to rethink this location. The dogs also barked every single morning we were there, and because the windows were open (due to no AC which honestly wasn't needed) we were awakened- multiple times. The entry way to the cabin is a bit overgrown and really not great on a car. Obviously Hammond is more of a backwoods kinda place, so definitely having a truck or SUV is more ideal. All in all the cabin is cute and very well maintained, just super small for 2 adults.

    Michelle2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • It is great place to stay away from all the city noise. The furnishings at the cabin is good. The lake is a stone throw away from the cabin. electric, hot water, well furnished kitchen. if you need something extra they will manage for you. Very hospitable people. The place is very private. we had a very good 3 day stay there.

    Jauhar2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin at Black Lake was very quaint. Judy (Ricks mother) met me there and got me all settled in. She was extremely hospitable, and even took me to town one day to show me around. The property is lovely for those who love water and outdoors. I explored both the land and water and found myself excited and surprised by the wild turkey that walked by my morning breakfast window, the herons that greeted me on a return trip from town, and the clear evening to watch meteor showers laying on the dock at the water. If you are looking for a experience of getting away from life and technology, this is your place. The cabin is small and serves as a step up from camping giving you electric, shelter from the elements, a shower and kitchen. It meets all the basic needs without extra frills. Two people may be cramped a bit, but for just me, I found it to have all that I needed. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and am hopeful to take my family to the area for a future vacation.

    Michelle2014-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the location and the friendliness at the compound. Judy is definitely a great host. Loved having a dock to keep our boat.

    Linda2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The property is beautiful with a nice view of the lake. The cabin is adorable and was just what we needed for the weekend. We were happy to make use of the canoe. The owners were very helpful and made us feel welcome. It was hard to leave!

    Stephanie2012-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I stayed at this cabin to celebrate my 29th birthday - and it was incredible! Upscale camping to say the least --- this cabin has everything you need for a long stay! A large refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave (dishes as well) - not to mention fresh (rather than well) water and a shower with incredible water pressure and a good amount of hot water! Additionally - you're right on the lake! We brought our dogs (who love to swim) and our canoe! The lake is gorgeous - the entire area is so peaceful! A great get away! Also an easy drive to Alexandria Bag or Clayton! Nearby is great food and plenty of wineries! Rick and his mother, Judy, are absolutely incredible hosts! They had other family members on site as well - as it's a family owned cabin ground. Seriously some of the nicest most genuine people I have ever met! Clearly I have nothing bad to say about this stay! Well worth the drive!!!

    Mindy2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was much more than i expected, it was immaculate. Very clean, very quiet, everything you need is provided (aside food that is), even the shower had amazing water pressure. The Lake was gorgeous, and the fish were biting. I couldnt have asked for a better get-away weekend!

  • We had an amazing fall retreat. Despite many things being closed or near closed for the season, the area is beautiful and it was the perfect space for a family getaway. The cabin itself was charming and perfect for the 7 of us (4 adults, 2 kids, 1 toddler, 1 puppy) and we had a wonderful time.

  • I can't say enough about the home. for many of us, self included it was the highlight of our weekend beating out the fabulous Two Nations boat tour and Boldt Castle. Grace made us feel comfortable and at home. The home was immaculate and very spacious. Two of our there couples spoke of possibly returning next year with our kids. The best way for me to describe the home would be to call it a hidden treasure. If your considering a stay in the Alexandria Bay Area you will not be disappointed.

    Bob2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, luxurious and relaxing. Grace was super welcoming and I totally enjoyed my stay.

    Sarah2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Grace is a terrific host. Her house was very spacious and nicely maintained. She had everything prepared for your stay and the house is fully functional. The towels were so soft and the beds were all very comfortable. She was so sweet and considerate and even did some grocery shopping to stock up the refrigerator before our arrival! I certainly hope to come back and stay longer next time when I am in the area!

  • Great host and wonderful communication. Great to work with.

    Toby2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had. Grace was a marvelous host, and the home was beautifully decorated and and very clean and comfortable. It was also a short drive from Alexandria Bay and other parts of the Thousand Islands region, making it a great location.

    Ettie2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was a place of history and beauty. We spent one night in Grace's house during our trip in the USA and Canada and we all agree that the experience we had here has been one of the most interesting and memorable of all our journey. The house is huge, elegantly ancient and it has all the furniture and appliances we could ever need. Around the house you can breathe a magical atmosphere, surrounded by nature and a mood of other times. We couldn't meet Grace cause we had to leave soon in the morning, but see has been a special host. She bought a lot of stuff from the grocery to let us have an amazing continental breakfast, and she offered a lots more than what we asked for. It has been like, for one day, we exited our regular lives and tried something different, something you all should try too.

  • Catherine is a wonderful host, available to answer any question that arises. The cottage is clean, spacious and wonderfully situated on the bay to view ships passing on the St Lawrence River. The kitchen is stocked with whatever equipment you may need to make and serve a meal. There is plenty of seating on the screened in porch and also out on the deck. The grill is great and there is easy access down the stairs to the bay. The bedrooms are roomy with comfortable beds. There is plenty of parking and there are plenty of choices to go for a walk down the lane. We didn't have time during this visit but from the information left by Catherine there is plenty to do in the area. Our family would highly recommend a stay here!

Our private island hosts 2 sleeping cottages w/screen porches & full baths. They are separate listings. The other is "Private 1BD Cottage w/Seaway View." Therefore, if there are 4 in your party, we can accommodate you! Just off the main channel of the St. Lawrence, we have nightly sunsets, often with a freighter in view. The bay is calm and delightful, perfect for relaxing, kayaking, and fishing!
Travel away from the busy hub-bub of Alexandria Bay and 20 minutes down Route 12 you reach a quiet, serene island. The boat ride to the island is less than 5 minutes, but you feel like you are in your own little paradise! Fishermen's Cottage has its own full bath, screen porch, and heating system. Although there is no kitchen, there is a small fridge for storing lunch items or nibblies, if you are spending the day on the island. It has two comfortable twin beds with beautiful views of the river. Fans and the many evergreen trees keep the cottage cool in the summer. The beautiful colors of sunrise can be seen out the windows each morning. A gourmet breakfast is served each morning with fresh fruit, homemade muffins, scones, and egg entrees. Yum!
It is wonderful having the marina so close, but not in direct view. They have a small store inside, including bait and boat rentals. There is even talk of a restaurant opening later in the summer of 2014! There are all kinds of things to see and places to visit in the Thousand Islands! The river holds tons of history, including two castles that you can visit by boat. There are many Amish living in the area, so you may catch site of a horse and buggy! Be sure to bring you passport
  • Linda is someone you would want as your friend . She was very welcoming and extremely attentive and easy going.

    Marianne2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Linda's was by far my best Airbnb experience to date. The cottage is perfect; I can't say enough about it. The surroundings, boating with Linda, and island itself are all absolutely out of this world. There really aren't words to describe it! The space is clean and cozy to a T, Linda is as hospitable as they come, and the food was to die for! I can only hope to get to go again in my life... We've already recommended it to numerous friends. A total blessing to spend some time at Ellen Emby!

    Nicole2014-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was my 2nd visit to Linda's B&B, this time bringing a friend for her first time and not her last. Well, once again, Linda's gentle, person centered hospitality won us over again. The breakfasts are prepared thoughtfully keeping guests preferences in mind. The variety of fresh flavors and yes, the servings were such a lovely surprise each morning. Linda's contagious enthusiastic love of baking makes breakfast a lingering event of the morning. Our weather was perfect, as we inhaled breathtaking sunsets, while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of nature. Linda takes every opportunity to share the history of the area and will source information promptly to help your stay feel very special . The hostess Linda, has such a generous spirit for sharing not only her island but her dear friends, all of which makes any visit extraordinary. It is a no brainer.. once you visit, you will want to return .. Thank you, Linda & Brillo ..looking forward to my next return with yet another friend who I know will fall in love with your B&B..

  • This was our first experience with Airbnb. What a perfect, romantic place to stay and enjoy the views. We were able to see a few large ships pass by in the main channel just outside the bay! The cabin was clean and well maintained with a small bath and shower. We were also so happy to be able to bring our dog. Linda is an amazing respectable person that is very easy to talk to and will go out of her way to make you comfortable. She left us homemade treats on our bed when we arrived there and a delicious breakfast for us in the morning. She knew the area very well and could tell anywhere you would want to go.

    Matt2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay on Emby Island was all we had hoped for. The tiny fisherman's cottage was cozy and clean, the island had beautiful views of the cove and out to the seaway and Linda has kept the island feeling at once wild and inhabited with the added touches of flowers, a stone fire ring and decks to sit on and enjoy the surroundings. There are kayaks available for guests to use and a lovely dock to dive off for a swim. Linda is a wonderful host and made us feel right at home. Her breakfasts were thoughtful and delicious. We loved our stay at Linda's and hope to return for longer soon.

  • This B&B was fantastic. A true bed and breakfast with excellent food, a wonderfully helpful and friendly host, and beautiful location. Exactly as described, only better! I went with my 85 year old father and we watched the sunset from the front deck of the main cottage, and I woke each morning to watch the sunrise from my pillow. We were treated like family, and feel like we made a new friend. I highly recommend Ellen Emby Island!

    LeeAnne2015-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was great. Fun to talk with, helpful with anything we needed, and went above and beyond what we expected. The island was a nice place to boat/swim and is very accessible to the river. The cottage was clean and decorated perfectly for a fisherman.

Sipping coffee on the screened porch, overlooking the St. Lawrence River, contemplating your options - boating, swimming, castle hopping, vineyard tour, relaxing on the dock - Pike Lodge invites you to indulge in "River Time"!
Pike Lodge is located in Oak Point, a small waterfront community in the Town of Hammond. Oak Point is a very, very family friendly community, and our bay is one of only two spots on the St.Lawrence where you will find a sandy bottom - wonderful for swimming and wading! We are at water level, so no treks up and down steep stairs, and are near all of the great tourist destinations such as castles, wineries, boat tours, golf courses, etc.
Oak Point is the kind of community which draws people back year after year; many families come back generation after generation. If you are looking for an "old-fashioned" relaxing vacation, Oak Point and Pike Lodge is for you!
  • What can I say, this place is fantastic!! The accommodations were exactly as described and nicer! Lisa stopped over when we arrived and also during our stay to check on us. The house/cottage still looks and smells brand new. Everything was clean and spotless. Beds comfy and a view you just cannot beat! There were 6 of us staying here on our annual kayak fishing trip. The Lodges are centrally located, access is easy and plenty of parking for two trucks and a trailer.

  • The best thing about this place is that the pictures provided do not do it justice. We booked for the long weekend and were very surprised at how beautiful and nice the cottage was, not to mention the view right from the window. To top it all off we had the most wonderful time thanks to Lisa, she was very accommodating with our requests and made sure we were comfortable, gave us our privacy but was never too far for help. The cottage comes with a canoe to share, BBQ Grills, Fire Pit, lounge chairs and the most wonderful night sky. You will not be disappointed, would definitely recommend and book again.

  • Lisa's place was amazing with lake view and access. Besides the Canoe she had for free in a great shape, We ordered two double kayaks from Mike's for a full day with amazing rent; they dropped the kayaks and picked up front of my door and we had a wonderful time kayaking around the lake half a day! Rooms were clean, heaters equipped for each room if needed. Kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, china and utensils came very handy and worked like a charm. I would recommend this place to anyone! She was very responsive to texts and received us like a good host would! Thanks Lisa.

  • A wonderful place on the St. Lawrence River with great views and a short drive to Ogdensburg and Alexandria Bay. Lisa was easy to communicate with, warm and welcoming. Upon arrival, the listing was as described and accurate and everything that I needed for my stay. Highly recommended and when I return to the area on my next business trip, I will seek to reserve this cottage again.

  • Lyne and Ian's place was great! Beautiful view of the bay and in convenient location. The place has all the essential amenities and more. Ian is a talented photographer and his work decorated the cottage and added an authentic touch, which we really admired. The hosts are very nice and we're available for questions. They also left us a gift upon our arrival, Ian's photography book of the 1000 islands, which was a great gesture of their hospitality.

Very effective communicators with prompt response and really attentive to all details: from the driving instructions, travel & neighborhood tips to everything upon arrival and stay in the cottage, it is not just a very pleasant experience but really enjoyable, safe and quiet living. The cottage is very clean and tidy in extremely good conditions. Spacious with all you need for light and heavy cooking. My kids enjoy preparing meals with us while go paddling with the great scenic view. We would recommend Lyne and Ian's lovely cottage to all caring visitors who appreciate the natural environment and quiet living! And, we're extremely thankful to Lyne & Ian's caring approach & arrangement from pre-booking to our stay and departure. Which makes us feel warm, safe and and easy.

  • If you are looking for a nice cottage to relax we highly recommend that you pick this cottage. It is fully equipped and very comfortable. The hosts are amazing people. The cottage is also close to shopping and restaurants if you don't want to eat in. We were three couples who stayed 3 nights and only when out to eat on the first night. You can make your own meals, or have a barbecue if the weather is good. Highly recommended.

  • We had a fantastic time at Lyne and Ian's cottage. We love how gorgeous and how clean this place is, and honestly we didn't want to leave by the end of our trip :) The cottage is located right in front of a bay where you have unobstructed view of the water all day long. The appliances, bedsheets and towels inside the cottage are almost brand new, which made our stay so much more enjoyable. Host Lyne has been so friendly and so responsive to our requests. What I love the most is that, she answered all my questions with warmth every single time. In addition, Lyne also gave us flexible check-in and check-out time, which made the whole trip stress-free. We cannot wait to go back again to Lyne and Ian's place . This cottage is definitely a great catch, if you can catch it :)

Our beautiful waterfront cottage on the St Lawrence River is newly built and furnished. Easily sleeps four in a 2 comfortable bedrooms with 1&1/2 baths. Open plan living/dining space with large windows to enjoy the views.
This river cottage is tucked down a hill in a family neighborhood. Just steps from the river with a view to Canada and at the start of the beautiful Thousand Islands resort area.
I grew up in the house next door. To the other side are long time neighbors and friends. We have a rustic fire pit near the river for evening bon fires. We walk the back roads with our dogs and explore nature trails near and further afield. Swimming is excellent and we have several kayaks for enjoying the water.
  • This cottage is terrific! It's lovely. It's safe. It's peaceful. The view of the St. Lawrence is beautiful. The owners and the people who live nearby are really nice. The design and decor of the cottage are terrific. Seriously, it's a great little cottage!

  • This is an absolutely beautiful cottage. Very quiet and the views are amazing. You can even see geese eating a few meters away. It rained the second night but we didn't mind as the living space is very cosy. I think my only regret was not having blinds or drapes in the bedrooms but that is it - am already looking forward to our next trip. Also, when doing groceries - best place we found is in Ogdensburg at Price Choppers.

  • This place is so much better then the pictures! it is on the river, has a great lawn and you can see the river from every room. the place is very welcoming, we stayed a family of 4 (kids are 4yr, 1yr) and had plenty of space. the internal design is so very smart, you can see the river from everywhere. thousand islands area is a quick 25 minutes drive where one can take a tour of the islands. note that there is no way to the river from the yard to actually swim in it , but it's a great place to sit back and watch the ships go by...

    Ariel2014-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at the River Cottage so much that we wanted to move in! It was the best part of our first visit to the 1000 Islands area. We thank our hosts for providing a lovely stay and the perfect view of the St. Lawrence Seaway. We felt right at home and love this house. It was very quiet and the view from the balcony was spectacular. Travel guides were left on the coffee table in the living room and gave us tips on how to tour the area. Thank you for making our vacation the best ever!

    John-Judy2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is lovely, clean, comfortable and set well back away from the road. We cooked most meals there over our 2 night stay, the kitchen is fully equipped. We had a late frost so the wood burning fireplace added both heat and ambiance. The neighbour, relatives of the owners, was friendly and helpful answering our questions. We set up games on the lawn, had a BBQ, sat by the fire pit and watch an amazing sunset over the St. Lawrence. Next time we will stay longer and bring the dog!

    Eva2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage exceeded any expectation we had! Kimberly knew we were on our honeymoon and was sweet enough to leave us a bottle of champagne! The view was absolutely stunning from the back yard, we spent every single night out there with a fire going. It was beautiful. The neighbors on either side were absolutely sweet and inviting. It was very very homey. The cottage was adorable and had everything you could need for a vacation. We absolutely will keep this place in mind for the next chance we have for a vacation. It was unlike anywhere we had ever been. I cannot say thank you enough!

Rent 1 room or all 3. Located near the river in the 1000 Islands region- 5 minute drive from downtown Brockville, 1 hour to Ottawa; 45 minutes to Kingston. Near restaurants, beach, city parks, family-friendly activities, and nightlife. You'll love my place for its coziness, and country setting, high ceilings, views, and welcoming hospitality. Great for couples, singles, business travelers, and families. Smoking outside only and two friendly cats are on premises. Continental breakfast included.
It's unique in the way that you are in a country settings yet minutes from downtown. You could see deer, wild turkeys , etc. while sitting on the back deck. Is also nice to see the two horses next door.
  • The owner is very warm, I have not yet arrived at the destination, she sent me an e-mail to determine when I might be able to. And the next morning was considerate to prepare breakfast for us. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a pleasant trip

MaryJane made us feel so relaxed and had wonderful breakfast options waiting when we awoke. Highly recommend as a place to sit back, relax and enjoy nature from the deck. Even saw a deer walking along the edge of the woods. So beautiful.

BOAT REQUIRED! Small island cottage on pink granite rock island in the 1000 islands on the St Lawrence river. Experience solidarity living with boating, fishing, swimming, diving and the gilded age castles at your doorstep... or dock step!
Our private island is rugged and rustic! We have no running water but do have electricity. Bottled water is supplied for drinking, cooking, hygiene, and dish washing. There is a small and well-equipped "galley" kitchen on the first floor that includes: a small fridge, a wine fridge, small oven, hot plate, toaster, kettle, dishes, utensils, glasses, and wine glasses. There is a gas barbecue on the back dock. We have loft-style sleeping accommodations upstairs with 1 queen bed and 1 bunk bed.
    Water, water, water everywhere...
  • John is a wonderful host. When we found ourselves at the wrong island (completely my fault), John came to our rescue right away. He went out of his way to make sure we made it to the cottage safely. The cottage is very beautiful, peaceful and nicely decorated. There are many windows allowing natural light in and amazing views of the water. The compostable toilet was very easy to use and the bathroom smelled very nice. It was nice to hear the waves crashing on the rocks. Even though it was a super hot weekend, the cool breeze kept us very comfortable during the day and at night. My husband and I would return in a heart beat!

  • We really enjoyed our stay! It was a beautiful experience. We appreciated the time we spent there. We had a good time. The view was amazing. Thanks you so much John. Your cottage is cute. It was very clean when we arrived. We had everything we needed. You are a perfect host, very present to answer all questions we had. The listing description was very accurate. We had no surprise. I highly recommend to anybody else who would like to live a nice experience and breathe fresh air. Carl.

  • Bobs Island is a little paradise. John was very nice and coordinating our arrival/return was pretty smooth. His son picked us up at Brockville's train station and gave us a car+boat ride to the island. John came to pick us up at the end of the weekend and was kind enough to give us a quick tour of the area before bringing us back to the station. The island itself is even cuter than in the pictures and we were totally enchanted. It is the perfect place to disconnect from the real world in an amazing environment. The nature around is gorgeous (although be prepared to greet some insects in case you’re phobic!) and the water temperature was fairly ok to swim. Make sure to catch a sunset while you’re there (and/or a sunrise, if you’re an early bird). The weather can be quite windy at times, though, so make sure to bring a jacket. The house has a homey touch, and we did not go short of anything. There is no tap water, but it sure was a fun experience to leap into the river to shower, and to get to use a compost toilet (neat in every respect, actually)! So, overall, one of the best places to be... Highly recommended!

    aline2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely, well appointed cottage in a perfect location... It was exactly what we were hoping for. We rented a boat in Brockville and had a perfect trip down, about 50 min. Would have preferred to rent closer, but all went well. Arrived and we were taken by the simple, but very functional space, loved the quiet, scenery, firepit, muskoka chairs, deck, rocks and even the composting toilet!! Would go back in a heartbeat!

    Michele2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our stay on Bob's Island in John's cottage. The cottage is small, but had all we needed and was adorably decorated. Several outside seating areas more than make up for the size of the cottage. The upstairs is roomy and beds were comfortable. There is electricity, DVDs, CDs, stereo as diversions but the true star of the property is its setting. It is surrounded by water, the surface rippling according to the wind & light. Truly mesmerizing. Boating to and around the island was easy. Great location to get around the TI area and sightsee. We swam, fished, sunned, boated, kayaked, water skiied, knee-boarded, and bonfired ourselves silly. And the sunsets-oh, my! There is no running water but plenty of bottled water was supplied. Two small refrigerators held all the needed food and options to replenish supplies by boat or boat to car are available nearby. Lots of small kitchen appliances & a grill to make meals. A composting toilet performed well above our expectations. It was hot (temps about 90F) while we were there but fans were running, lots of windows & doors open and the breeze was fantastic! This is definitely well above camping, but it is charmingly rustic. There were bugs, but no biting ones, spiders but they didn't bother us and flies, which were annoying but once again this is an island & an outdoor experience so that goes with the territory. John was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We had a glorious week!

    Diane2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gear cottage. Great location. We had a wonderful time. We'd love to rent again sometime.

    Patrick2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect escape. John answered all our questions quickly and the island was waiting for us when we arrived. From the second you set foot on the dock you fell welcomed. I think we picked the absolute best weekend of the entire summer! We watched sunrises and sunsets, boated, SUP'ed, swam, fished and relaxed for 4 perfect days. The evening breeze cooled off the cottage beautifully from the hot days, no need to even use a fan. We will definitely be back

  • We had such a great time. This floating chalet is one of a kind. April made us feel extremely welcome. The chalet itself was very stable, did not even budge, if anyone is wondering if it rocks with the waves. The deck is also great and very large. The pictures do not do it justice. Even the inside is so full of character and unique touches. Despite being "off the grid", there was more than enough electricity than we needed and great water pressure! The location is awesome too. Private and tranquil. Very close to a number of beautiful sights like the singer castle! Nothing beats relaxing on the deck, watching the sun go down and listening to the water. We will be coming back for sure.

  • This place is just so special! We absolutely loved it. We were very impressed with how they built and organized the cottage. It is decorated with charm. April was very easy to communicate with and she gave us all the info we needed for our stay. She greeted us like we were friends or family. She remained available for all of our questions ans comments. I would go back in a heartbeat! Thank, April!

  • This place is one of a kind! Truly a unique gem. The hosts were amazing and accommodating even with our last minute booking! The 4 of us who visited truly have memories to last a lifetime. From the spacious deck to the charming decor this place has it all. Being secluded but just a quick boat ride from land was a wonderful feeling. We really appreciate being able to take the boat up and down the river to check out the incredible scenery. Wish we could have stayed longer, and we all cannot wait to return.

    Caterina2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place was fantastic. Access to the house using a little boat. Made the whole experience even better. Lots of fishing for the whole family. I will be coming back soon.

  • April and Ryan were the most accommodating, they met us by the side of the road, showed us how to use the boat that we needed to get to the island, and gave a tour of the property. They were great to interact with and very hospitable. I've already told people about the place, and we would definitely go back again.

    BJ2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ryan were great hosts. We had a fantastic time and would definitely return!

    Nate2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic opportunity for the adventurous! Unique experience! Private and away from the hustle and bustle. Coolest deck I've ever been on. April was very nice and welcoming. Location was away from everything as the rental is essentially on a private island (or should we call it a private rock?) ... either way, it was a super experience!

    Dennis2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • April is a great host - we had a wonderful weekend at her floating house. The attached deck is built on a rock, with a fire pit and nice propane grill. April's description in the listing is spot on, and the experience was everything we expected it to be. The tin boat that April provides to get out to the house runs great and is easy to start. The marina is just two docks down, making it easy to refill the gas tank when you leave (just be sure to add oil as it has an outboard engine - the attendant can help with that!). The house really is ideal for a quiet weekend getaway. Its position mid-river affords seclusion and privacy. There aren't a lot of bells and whistles, but you really don't need anything more than what's already there. A grocery store with beer and wine is only a 5 minute drive away. The mainland in Mallorytown Landing offers a number of low-key activities. There are miles of biking trails along the St. Lawrence, and easy hikes in Thousand Islands National Park. I caught several nice bass casting casually from the deck, and the sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. I strongly recommend this house as a great place to stay, and my only advice for American guests is to remember to bring passports, Canadian currency, sunblock, and a small bottle of bug spray for evenings on the deck.

A few highlights: - Incredible view of the St. Lawrence River - Close everything you'd want to do in the Thousand Islands Region - Thoughtful amenities such as a gas grill, a Roku with streaming capabilities, and a clothesline - This one may be a little strange, but it's worth noting; the Goose Bay Cottage has the sweetest well water coming straight from the tap! There are three different outdoor areas that invite guests to gather and enjoy each other's company. The spacious great family room and enclosed porch provide stunning water views and comfort on rainy days in a way that one wouldn't mind the weather because you are always near the water. There is a big chest in the living room area filled with plenty of games to pass the time or gather around the kitchen island and enjoy each other's company while making a meal. There are 2 fully equipped bathrooms and an outdoor shower. The home is decorated with thoughtfulness and love. We had ten relatives up for a college graduation and it was such a joy to be able to accommodate everyone. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

  • Abdolutely gorgeous, comfortable and we'll equipped home. Yard, views, sunroom, cottages...all amazing. We came fully prepared w meals, drinks, cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc for the week and I recommend the same as there are no stores nearby. Easy daytrip to A bay and Clayton. I highly recommend.

  • Nice quiet place on the water. Glad i could use the canoe. Would be a pity to be right there and not be able to use the water. It is rustic. So dont expect cloth napkins with dinner. ;) no a/c fyi. Not a problem for me, but my colleague noticed it. Was excited to hear the moose at night.

A truly magnificent home awaits you. This immaculately bungalow features gorgeous views, 4 spacious bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms. Absolutely, you’ll love my place because of 3 stone fireplaces, marble grounds, private ambiance like impression of a past era. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups. More than just a home, it is your retreat destination.
My property has lots of space including 2 separated living area, the north wing and the south wing. Totally 4 bedrooms with own bathroom. You could watch TV in my big office, take a nap in my cozy room, absence of your mind for a little while in my sunny room, enjoy your BBQ on my deck or just look backyards through my large bay window. Luckily, local wildlife might be jump into your eyes. You are wrapped around quiet, privacy, good location and more.
Absolutely, you are staying with a friendly, super nice and warm hearted neighborhood. So that's why I enjoy staying here and wanna share a gorgeous place with you. Trust me, what attracts you most is both stunning view and friendly relationship with your community. Elsa's house is unique and unforgettable.
  • Thank you Elsa for taking care of every detail that made our stay in your house unforgettable

  • Great time at this house for a girls getaway near the 1000 islands!

    Rimsha2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This house is much larger than expected. With four bedrooms and six baths; large families are easily accommodated. It is immaculate. Only suggestion is that we could have used an iron and ironing board because we were attending formal dinners. But since it is more of a recreational area in Canada, most people don't require ironing like we did. I would highly recommend Elsa's home!!!

    Marylyn2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay for a weekend with a big family. I'd definitely recommend this place to everyone. The house is much bigger than we had thought and Elsa provided us with just about everything we needed.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this unique and spacious home. Everything went smoothly, and Elsa was extremely accommodating. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a larger group or family looking to stay in the Brockville area. Excellent location!

  • It was more than happier staying in Elsa's house. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay there. Great view and quiet neighbourhood. Elsa and her husband were also kind and hospitable. Would definitely come again if I visit Brockville next time.

The room is in a massive, historic house a block from the St Lawrence River. Walk to festivals, parks, marina, ships, shops and restaurants! There is a two person max for this room. Kids over 10 are welcome. There is a cat who really likes people who don't like cats, she could be part of your experience. I would also like to remind guests that this is a quiet space. Please don't stay here if your plan is to party and be loud.
Down the hall there is a shared kitchenette with hot plate, toaster, microwave, pots, pans and plates. In your room is a small fridge and coffee maker. You will also find coffee, cream, fresh fruit and bottled water. You're sharing the second floor of this big, old house with one other Airbnb room.
The oldest railway tunnel in Canada is two blocks from the house. Its very cool. There is usually one, sometimes two tall ships that live in front of the Tall Ships condo building. No need to pay to wait in line at some over crowded festival. My mom's memorial bench is at Hardy Park, it's a nice place to sit. You could bring her some cheese.
  • Amazing location and very spacious room

  • Susan is an amazing host and we spent a wonderful stay at her home and in Brockville. The house is very big, full of charme and in the very city center! The room is so spacious, clean, the bed comfortable with fresh blankets and there is a fridge and coffeemaker. Wi-Fi is speed, car park just outside the house. Check in was very easy and communication before arrival very quick! Our stay was perfect and I truly recommend to stay at Susan's home while in Brockville!

    Francesca2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely old heritage type home in downtown Brockville but is in a quiet area 1/2 block from the St Lawrence. We had the entire upper floor to ourselves and enjoyed our small fridge and the kitchen to make our breakfast. A really nice touch is fruit and cold water in the fridge on arrival and a coffee maker in the room for us to enjoy coffee in the am. It is a very large area with 2 rooms and has a nice sitting area to enjoy looking out at the street. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

    Jenny2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and the bar has been set high! Excellent location, and clean and spacious rooms. I was really impressed with all the little touches (charming decor, soap and shampoo, towels, fresh fruit, refrigerated water, coffee).

Located in the historic downtown Brockville, only one block North of the St. Lawrence River ~ This cozy apartment offers one bedroom with queen size bed, 3 pc bath, open concept living/dining area with pull-out bed + den area.
  • Great location for downtown and water related activities. Close to most things you'll need. We didn't notice the "no parking" - which IS clearly stated in the listing - but that wasn't a big deal as a lot of downtown parking is free anyway. Place is as described and the pictures are accurate. A hair dryer and iron/ironing board would have made the place perfect. We will stay here again.

  • First guest, Joanne: The rooms and bathroom were large and clean, the beds were very comfortable. What I enjoyed most was the kitchen close by on the same floor. We were able to make coffee or tea and even breakfast in the mornings before preparing for our Expo. in town. Also being so close to water's edge, parks, and paths, was a huge bonus. Will certainly return for another stay when we are in the area next! Second guest, Stephanie: O'Sheridans airbnb was a wonderful experience. The owners are very personable, friendly and helpful. The accommodations are clean and beautifully maintained. Enjoyed my stay there immensely.

Vacation on an island but with land access! This rustic cabin is a perfect getaway. Comes with its own dock and lies only 15 minutes north of Alexandria Bay. See amazing sunsets every night while sitting by a campfire right on the water! Great fishing and boating spot - ideal for kayaking too. Rents alone or with its big sister: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12335903?guests=4&s=uzihIU4h
You're renting a rustic cabin on our island. There is a small row boat and a canoe available for guest to use. The dock has plenty of space for boats and you can watch the ships go by on the main channel while being protected in a cove. The main house is also for rent - look for our other listing: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12335903?s=DSLX_5fj
We are close to Hammond, NY and a 15-minute drive away from Alexandria bay. Singer Castle is super close by boat and Bold Castle is just 15 minutes away.
  • We had a wonderful time. Nina provided a detailed welcome brochure prior to our arrival that answered a lot of questions and she was very accommodating with our requests. There were no issues that came up during our stay and having our own island/peninsula to ourselves was very unique. We came for the kayaking and this location allowed access to the entire Chippewa bay for exploration right from our own beach. There are also two creeks that flow into the bay that are worth paddling. The northern one can be accessed easily from the cabin, for the southern one, we put in at Shermerhorn boat ramp ($5) so we could have more time on the creek. I highly recommend that one. Fishermen would love this place and anyone that just wants to sit on the deck and watch the wildlife (gulls, herons, ospreys, frogs, turtles, etc.).
